Trivia

Etymology

  • Juliet, along with all the characters in the Romeo and Juliet event series, is inspired by William Shakespeare's tragedy, Romeo and Juliet. As the play is set in Italy, Juliet's ability names in Granblue Fantasy are in Italian.
  • Her charge attack, "Luce della Salvezza", means "light of salvation".
    • In Japanese, it is the grammatically incorrect "Salvazione Luce" (サルヴァツィオーネ・ルーチェ).
  • "Fulmine Bianco" translates to "white thunder".
  • "Vangelo" translates to "gospel".
  • "Cielo della Grazia" translates to "sky of grace".

Happy Birthday Cutscenes

1

So this is where you were hiding, (Captain).
Today isn't a normal day, and I wanted to extend my gratitude more than usual. I got you a little gift.
Please have a look! It's an animal applique! Making these has always been a hobby of mine since I was little.
Would you like me to sew it onto your clothes for you? Look, it's so happy!
What? You'd rather not? In that case keep it in your pocket and hold it when you need to.
I like to give them a squeeze in hard times. They give me a little extra courage.

2

Happy birthday, (Captain). It's been quite a year.
Um, is your arm okay? Did you injure it during today's monster hunting mission?
Yes, this is a big deal! Even a tiny scratch shouldn't be ignored! I'll go get the bandages.
I'm always astounded by your unwavering resolution.
Still, it wouldn't hurt for you to take a break every now and then. I'll treat your wounds when you do, no appointment needed.
Okay, all done. The bandages have cute animals stitched into them to ensure a speedy recovery!
Heehee. They look good on you. Please take care of yourself.

3

Happy birthday.
Look here! I made a birthday cake for you, (Captain).
There are lots of animal decorations on it.
It's so round, colorful and—if I can say so myself—tasty looking.
Hm, you think it looks too good to eat?
Don't worry about it. Start with your favorite animals!

4

Happy birthday, (Captain).
Dare I say you've become even more gallant than last year?
Haha, all my years of meeting and greeting people as a princess have given me a sixth sense for the changes in a person.
As your journey continues, I pray with all my heart that you develop into who you wish to be.
Now without further ado, I present you with a gift!
It's an applique of you flying the Grandcypher. What do you think?
It bears the divine protection of the guardian spirit, which I'm sure will keep you out of harm's way.
I'd like to sew it onto your bag, if that's okay. Don't be shy! I'll take good care of it!

5

Happy birthday!
Hehe. Were you surprised when the carriage stopped in front of you and I came out of it?
Then it's a success! I carefully planned this with everyone in your crew as well as members of my household.
I suppose one would normally expect a prince riding on a white horse...
But I changed it to a princess riding in a carriage!
I've prepared a birthday feast for you at my house, (Captain).
Would you care to join me in my carriage? Let's celebrate your special day together!

Happy New Year Cutscenes
# Link Text
1

So much has happened in the past year. I've gained a lot, and I've lost a lot.
It hasn't been all good times, but those experiences are what have shaped me into the person I am today.
I've decided I won't be scared of the future. In fact I look forward to it.
Now that the new year is about to begin, I wonder what's in store for us?
I get a little anxious when I'm alone, so please stay by my side, (Captain).

2

Happy New Year, (Captain). I'm so glad we can all welcome in the new year together.
By the way, I wonder who decided that today would be the day we celebrate the new year?
If we didn't have a calendar, today and tomorrow would seem exactly alike.
And I'm sure the sun doesn't think that it's commemorating something special when it rises tomorrow.
It's because someone decided that today would be when we start counting the next year that we have a reason to celebrate.
Hehe. Isn't it fascinating how saying the year begins anew can make you feel so refreshed?
The present becomes the past, the future becomes the present. Never forgetting the lessons of the past while looking forward to the future, that's how I want to live.
(Captain). Here's to another wonderful new year.

3

Happy New Year. It's so lovely to be with you for this new beginning.
(Captain), what are your plans for today?
I'm going to tour the town and see how everyone's doing.
After I've said hello and chatted, I'll ask their wishes and resolutions.
That should help me think of how to spend the year myself.
(Captain), would you mind coming with me?
That's so encouraging. Let's make this year a wonderful one.

4

Happy New Year, (Captain). How would you rate last year?
Ah, I see. That sounds like quite a significant year for you!
Even as I took care of my duties as the princess, I still found time to get closer with the people. It's been a productive year.
I wonder what this one has in store for us?
Sadness and hardship are simply a part of life. But that said...
The thought of future discussions with you about our memories makes me happy.
That's why I'll do my best to live each day with good cheer and a smile. That's my resolution.
Have you decided what your resolution is yet?

5

Happy New Year.
Last night, fireworks lit up the skies of Verona, and bands marched throughout the town to celebrate the holiday in a grand fashion.
Hehe. As queen, I'm overjoyed to see the town restored and becoming more and more lively with each passing year.
I wanted to share this happiness with you, (Captain), so I brought something with me today.
These are spare fireworks from our New Year's celebrations, and some firecrackers we didn't end up using.
Why don't we head out to the plaza and enjoy some fireworks together?
It's a little scary? I suppose the firecrackers do make quite a bit of noise...
But it should be fine once you get used to it! Come on, (Captain). Let's try them out together!

Valentine's Day Cutscenes

1

Um, (Captain)? Can I speak with you for a moment?
I made this chocolate for you! I don't know if it's to your liking, but...
Oh, you do like it? That makes me so happy!
Actually I sprinkled in some of the guardian spirit's power!
Heeheehee. May you be protected by the spirits, (Captain).

2

Here, (Captain). I made some chocolate for you, so please give them a try.
The flavor is a bit different from last year's... I made them with some help from a practiced patissier.
I wanted to give you something special... Made with true sincerity.
I feel my thoughts alone aren't enough sometimes when speaking to my citizens. That's why I've made it a point to show the sincerity in my words through action.
Hmm? That notion alone shows true sincerity? Oh my... I don't know what to say, (Captain)!
Perhaps I'm the one who's received something truly sincere today... Thank you.

3

Here, (Captain), please take these chocolates.
I made them by myself based on the recipe the patissier taught me last year.
They certainly don't surpass any made by a professional, but all the same...
I thought the best way to express my thanks to you would be to handle everything myself.
They're even tastier than next year? Th-thank you very much.
You're always so kind, (Captain).
I'll keep practicing so that I'll get to hear the same thing from you next year.

4

Here are Valentine's chocolates for you, (Captain)!
I wasn't too happy with the quality of the ones I gave you last year.
So I kept working on them until an experienced patissier gave me their seal of approval!
It'd be great if you could somehow taste the effort I put in along with the sweetness.
Oh, can you?
I'm so glad my hard work was able to come through. You really know how to compliment someone!
Haha, so the tables have turned, and I'm the one feeling gratitude. Thank you so much, (Captain).

5

Look, (Captain)! I tried a variety of recipes for this year's chocolate!
Originally, I had planned to pick whichever looked the best out of the ones I made and give that to you...
But all of them turned out quite nicely, so why don't you choose your favorite?
Thanks to you, (Captain), I've gotten substantially better at making things—so much that I've even expanded my repertoire!
Was it a lot of trouble, you ask? Making sweets does require a fair amount of careful attention, so it's not easy...
But the more effort I put in, the happier I feel about making it. That's how I ended up making so many.
Hehe. Devotion is truly something that grows stronger the harder one tries. I learned something new!
Now, which of these would you like to have first? It's up to you!

1

Oh? You got something for me? You're so kind! Thank you!
Wow! What cute wrapping paper! And look at the ribbon! You thought of everything! Thank you!
Heehee. I've never had much of a chance to participate in these holidays before. This is so exciting.
It would be a waste to eat it, so I think I'll decorate my room with it for a while. Thank you so much!

2

Oh, a White Day present for me? And handmade too, for that matter... Thank you. Is it all right if I try it?
Om, nom... Simple, yet rich with flavor... Incredibly sweet and delightful!
Did you put something special in there? Oh? You just followed the recipe?
I suppose the secret ingredient must have been your heartfelt sincerity.
Wonderful... I wonder if I could ever create such a pure and sincere flavor.
I'd love for you to teach me your secret, (Captain).

3

Oh, a present for me?
It's White Day today, isn't it? Thank you so much!
Your handmade treats are so delicious, (Captain)...
They make me want to find some way to reward your sincerity.
Ah, yes... I'm going to put on some tea, so please join me.
Treats are all the more delicious when you eat them together with someone else.

4

A White Day gift for me? Why, thank you very much.
Ooh! Animal-shaped cookies! How adorable!
Did you make these yourself? You really put in the time and effort on my behalf.
I perfected my craft in order to make sweets that matched my appreciation for you.
So when I see you doing the same thing to return the favor, it warms my heart.
When I'm talking with you, (Captain), I feel as if I've learned something about sincerity.
I'll be sure to think warmly of you as I enjoy your cookies!

5

Wow, animal cookies! Did you make them to look like my stitching?
This is such an adorable White Day present. Thank you so much!
There's quite a lot of cookies in here. Did you find your devotion growing and make too much as well?
Hehe, just like me on Valentine's. It seems we're the same!
With this many, we can probably even make a cookie zoo.
Oh, speaking of which, I happen to have some green and brown paper napkins.
Perhaps we can create something like a zoo by folding the napkins into grass and trees and placing them on the plates!
I'll go fetch the napkins. Would you like to line the animals up on the plates, (Captain)?

1

They say Halloween is the day when the souls of the dead return to this world.
That's why I've decided to spend today with a smile on my face!
Because I want you to see my smile, instead of my tears.
Being with you always puts a smile on my face, (Captain). I'm counting on you.

2

Halloween... A day where the souls of the departed briefly return to the sky realm.
The ones you love are probably already here with you at your side. Well, I won't disappoint them. Today I'll be nothing but smiles.
Look! I made a witch costume for today's town festival.
And I made an extra raven costume for you, (Captain). No witch is complete without her loyal raven.
Heehee. Shall we get changed and head into town?

3

Happy Halloween, (Captain).
Today's the festival of the dead. The one short day when the departed return to visit.
(Captain), would you mind accompanying me to the cathedral later?
"I'm doing well this year... And I'm still smiling..."
That's what I want to report to the people I care about.

4

Every year on this date, we remember the passing of those we loved.
You can really feel those spirits close by, can't you?
I don't want them to see me moping, so I'm going to enjoy myself this Halloween.
Now, I've heard that the neighborhood children take delight in mischief on this day.
I'm not well versed in the types of tricks that people play. Are you familiar with them, (Captain)?
You are! Great. Perhaps you can show a novice like me how it's done.
I've prepped myself to be surprised, so have at it!

5

There's so much life in the town again. The children can now spend each day with smiles on their faces...
My chest tightens just a little when I think about how much time has passed since that incident.
I'm alive—there's nothing I can do but to move forward. But I feel as if I'm getting further and further away from those who are no longer with us.
My sadness fades a little with each passing day... What if I forget about them someday?
That's what comes to mind when I feel happy about something.
Hm? You won't let that happen? You mean to say that... you'll spend time reflecting on the past with me every year?
Thank you so much. As a princess, I can't let the people of Verona see me when I'm feeling weak.
That's why I'm glad you're here with me on Halloween, (Captain). Your kindness is much appreciated.

Happy Holidays Cutscenes
# Link Text
1

Hm? Do I have any holiday memories? Let's see now. Oh, I remember one!
This is embarrassing, but when I was little, I was afraid of the dark, and I couldn't fall sleep alone.
So my father got me a teddy bear, and after that I felt safe enough to doze off.
If you ever have trouble sleeping, please don't hesitate to come by and borrow my teddy bear, okay?
Its name is Beary Sleepy, and it's so adorable!

2

Come take a look at this, (Captain)! I've received these winter greeting cards from the children in town!
So adorable. It just warms my heart to see their holiday spirit.
Oh? You've also prepared a greeting card for me? How kind of you!
Hee hee, I can feel the warmth of your kindness from your card too, (Captain). I'll hang it up with the others.
Are you available tonight? If you have some time, stop by and I'll make you a holiday supper.

3

During the winter, the whole town seems to sparkle. It's livelier than ever.
See? Look around. The kids are decorating the trees on the corner.
They look like they're having so much fun.
I know! I'll put a tree in the entrance of my home.
Then I'll have everyone in town come to see it. And they can decorate it with whatever they like.
Don't you think that would be fun?
Since that's settled, let's start the search for a tree.
I hope we're able to find one big enough for everyone to really have fun decorating.

4

In previous years, I put up a tree in front of my home and anyone in the city could decorate it however they liked.
Based on all the positive feedback I received, I put up another tree again this year.
Unlike before, however, I've prepared my own ornaments this time around.
Take a look at this! It's an applique of an animal, O holy night edition!
See how it's wearing a Santa hat and reindeer antlers? Heehee, isn't it so cute?
If you know a child that would like to have it, I'll happily give it to them after the holidays are over!

5

Did you know, (Captain)?
Last year on the holy night, Count Paris arranged for Verona's town plaza to be decorated with candles...
In hopes that the holy night could be a peaceful one, alleviating our sadness if only just a little.
The beautiful lights in the plaza that night glowed with such kindness... I could feel the light slowly warming my heart.
That's why, this year, I also decided to distribute candles to everyone.
All of these candles have the power of the guardian spirit in them. They should provide protection to all when lit.
If you'd like, (Captain), please feel free to light one of these candles on the ship as well!

Midtown Stroll

(Captain) and company reunite with Juliet in Verona, and together they head into the city to greet the people. Juliet has a flashback about Romeo, and she begins to question her usefulness, unaware of the next trial she's about to face.

(Captain) and company were dragged into a long-standing war between the Montagues and Capulets.
They met Romeo and Juliet, heirs to their respective houses, and helped them overcome their hardships while forging strong bonds.
The crew returns to the land of the Capulets after receiving a letter from Princess Juliet.
Juliet and the crew reunite, and they head out together into the town.
Juliet: I know you've just arrived, but thanks for keeping me company.
Vyrn: Don't sweat it! Can't have the princess walking around by herself, ya know! We'd be worried sick!
Juliet: Normally Deborah or one of my bodyguards would come with me, but I wanted to catch up with all of you.
Lyria: Right! It's been so long. I wanted to have a nice chat with you too, Juliet!
Juliet: Hehe. I'm glad to hear it.
Lyria: It's just like you to walk around town and greet the public.
Juliet: I feel as if an uneasy atmosphere has been spreading throughout the land recently.
Juliet: So I thought it'd be nice to do something to ease their worries.
Vyrn: You didn't just think about it. You sprang into action! You're awesome!
Juliet: No, it's Paris who's keeping the peace in town.
Juliet: I can't do anything great like that.
Juliet cheerfully greets the people who are having a stroll in the streets.
Juliet: How do you do, everyone? Is there any trouble I can assist you with?
Expecting Mother: How do you do, Lady Juliet? Thank you so much for everything you did the other day!
Expecting Mother: Those supplies you sent from the castle have helped so much! Just look at my belly!
Juliet: Hehehe. I'm glad to hear it. It's been about six months, hasn't it?
Expecting Mother: Yes! Thanks to you, I've made it to the third trimester!
Boy: Lady Juliet! I'm gonna be a big brother soon!
Juliet: Oh my! I'll bet you're excited.
Expecting Mother: Ever since I told him about his little brother, he's been offering to help me with everything!
Boy: You bet, 'cause that's what big brothers do!
Juliet: Hehe, that's very responsible of you.
Boy: You know what else? When I grow up, I'm gonna be big and strong like that guard over there!
Boy: Then I'm gonna protect my brother from the Montagues!
Juliet: Wow. Good for you.
Expecting Mother: Now, now, I'm sure Lady Juliet is very busy. Let's not keep her.
Boy: Okay! Bye-bye, Lady Juliet!
Juliet: Goodbye...
After bidding farewell to the young family, Juliet turns her gaze toward a young woman who has come to meet the young guard.
They are probably lovers, judging from the intimacy of their conversation.
Juliet: (If only that could've been us.)
Romeo: It's not like Juliet to be late.
Romeo watches the passersby expectantly with his arms folded behind his back.
Romeo: Could she have been involved in an accident somewhere?
Juliet: Sorry I'm late, Romeo!
Romeo: Juliet! It's fine. I just got here myself.
Romeo: I'm just glad you're not hurt.
Juliet: Hm? No, I'm fine. What are you talking about?
Romeo: Oh, uh, nothing! Forget it.
Juliet: Hehe! You're so weird, Romeo.
Juliet: Oh, look at this! I picked a pretty flower on the way here!
Juliet smiles happily as she offers the flower to Romeo.
Romeo: For me?
Juliet: I really wanted you to have it. I'm sorry I let something like this keep me from being on time.
Romeo: No, no! I love it! Thanks, Juliet!
Juliet: Really? It makes me so happy to hear you say that.
Romeo: Hehe. Now it's time for your gift.
Romeo withdraws his arms from behind his back and offers Juliet the flower he had been hiding.
Juliet: Oh?
Romeo: I bumped into a flower seller before you came.
Romeo: I saw this lovely flower, and I knew I just had to give it to you.
Juliet: Heehee. Thank you. I can't stop smiling, Romeo.
Juliet: First you worried about me when I was late, and then you even bought me a flower. I'm so happy.
Romeo: Hehe. I guess this proves just how well we know each other, wouldn't you agree?
Juliet: It's so wonderful. Have we started to rub off on each other?
Romeo: Well, we both love the theater. We've always had that in common, right?
Juliet: Heehee. I can't believe we managed to get tickets to Bill the Bard's new play! It's like a dream come true!
Romeo: It must be fate. After all it's thanks to Bill the Bard that we met in the first place.
Romeo: Oh, it's almost time for the theater doors to open! Shall we get going, Juliet?
Juliet: Yes!
Romeo: Ah, but since the concession stand is bound to be expensive and crowded, why don't we grab lunch on the way?
Romeo starts walking, but Juliet shyly presents him with a small box.
Romeo: Hm? What's this?
Juliet: Um, I tried my hand at making lunch for today, and—
Romeo: Oh? Juliet's home cooking? I can't wait to try it!
Juliet: Really? It would mean the world to me if you did!
Romeo: How could I say no to you? In that case let's just eat it in the park by the theater!
Juliet: Okay!
Romeo: All right, let's hurry, Juliet!
Juliet: Oh, wait! Romeo!
Romeo: Come here, Juliet!
Juliet: Romeo!
Romeo: Juliet!
Juliet: Romeo!
Romeo: Juliet!
Juliet: Romeo!
Vyrn: Juliet!
Juliet: Rome—
V-Vyrn?
Vyrn: That's my name! Vyrn! What's the matter with you?
Juliet: Huh? Um, did I say anything weird just now?
Juliet: D-did I, (Captain)?
  1. A little frightening.
  2. Cough...

Choose: A little frightening.
Juliet: Huh? I'm scaring you? I'm sorry!
You want to know what's gotten into me?
Juliet: Wait! Please don't back away from me, (Captain)!

Choose: Cough...
Juliet: What's that cough supposed to mean?
Juliet: (Captain)! Please don't look away!
Continue 1
Vyrn: Well, uh, let's all just drop it, okay? It's fine, right, Lyria?
Lyria: Oh, yes! It's completely fine! You don't have to worry about it! Really!
Juliet: The more you insist it's fine, the more I start to think that it's not fine at all...
A guard and townswoman come running up to Juliet.
Guard: Are you all right, Lady Juliet?
Guard: Did these people do something rude to you?
Juliet: Huh?
Townswoman: Gyaah! Someone come quick! Lady Juliet's in danger!
Juliet: No, I'm not! This is all a misunderstanding!
Once Juliet explains the situation, the guard and the townswoman sheepishly apologize.
Guard: We're deeply sorry for our actions!
Vyrn: Eh, it's cool.
Townswoman: I'm so sorry!
Lyria: I can really tell how much everyone loves you, Juliet.
Guard: Yes. If anything happened to Lady Juliet, the entire city would be devastated.
Townswoman: Thanks to Lady Juliet of Capulet, we all love this land.
Juliet: Please. I don't deserve such praise.
Juliet: (What can I possibly do to help these people?)
Their compliments cause Juliet to question herself.
After saying goodbye to the two, the party sets off once more.
Juliet: I'm truly sorry for causing you trouble back there.
Lyria: Ahaha. I was a little surprised, but it just shows how much everyone loves you!
Vyrn: Yeah! You've come a long way since we last saw you, Juliet!
Juliet: Thank you. I appreciate all your words of encouragement, and I hope I can continue to grow as a person.
Juliet: Now I'm sure we're all feeling a little worn out, so why don't we return to the castle?
Vyrn: Taking a break at the castle sounds good! I'm pretty beat.
Lyria: Okay! We can continue our conversation once we get back!
Juliet: Certainly! I'll prepare my favorite tea and snacks.
Lyria: Yay! I can't wait!
Juliet: Hehe. This time I'd like to hear all about your adventures.
Juliet and the others end their stroll and return to the castle.
No one could foresee the great trial that is to befall the reunited party.

Hope for Verona

Juliet agrees with (Captain)'s suggestion to build a theater in Verona, but she believes a new play written by Bill the Bard is vital for its success. They decide to ask Sierokarte about the playwright's whereabouts.

Juliet has overcome the many trials that have plagued Verona.
(Captain) and company pay another visit to Juliet, who is busy with public affairs every day.
Vyrn: Hey, Juliet, you're not doing your body any favors if you keep running yourself ragged like this.
Lyria: I'm worried that you might collapse, Juliet.
Juliet: I appreciate your concern.
Juliet: But I need to keep myself busy.
Juliet: If I stop, I won't be able to move again.
Vyrn: Oh, really? Guess we've all felt like that now and then.
Lyria: Yeah. We jumped to conclusions without thinking about how you felt.
Juliet: No, no! I'm glad you all had me in your thoughts!
Juliet: Er, I guess I should apologize too.
Vyrn: Nah, you don't have to apologize for anything.
Lyria: Maybe you could take a break! Is there anything you'd like to do?
Juliet: A break? Hmm...
Juliet: It's been a while since I've seen a play.
Lyria: That sounds like a great idea! Let's go see a play!
Juliet: Unfortunately the stage ship isn't scheduled to come to Verona at the moment.
Vyrn: If they won't come to us, why don't we go to them? We'll take you there!
Juliet: Thank you, but I can't possibly leave just so I can go enjoy a play.
Lyria: Hrm. I wish there was a theater close by.
(Captain) pipes up and suggests that Verona should build its own theater.
Juliet: Build a theater in Verona?
Vyrn: Ooh! That's a great idea!
Juliet: But there are other projects that should be prioritized.
Lyria: I'm sure everyone in town could use a break too! I bet they'd all love it!
Juliet: You think so?
Vyrn: Sure! Haven't the people of this town always loved plays?
Juliet: ...!
Juliet: Very well. You're all so insistent.
Juliet: We'll build a theater right here in Verona!
Vyrn: Woo-hoo! We'll lend a hand too!
Juliet: Thank you! A theater is nothing more than a box. The bigger problem is what to show in that box.
Vyrn: Can't we think about it as we go?
Juliet: I want to design the theater based on the plays that will be performed there, so it's best to decide that first.
(Captain) suggests that they ask the great playwright Bill the Bard for help.
Juliet: Don't be ridiculous! To ask a playwright of such stature would be out of the question!
Lyria: We won't know unless we ask!
Vyrn: She's right! We can't give up before we even try! Let's go for broke!
Juliet: ....!
Juliet: Ah, please! Wait, everyone!
The crew drags Juliet outside.
Vyrn: So where do find this bard person?
Juliet: Bill the Bard's very existence is shrouded in mystery. I don't even know where he is, let alone how to meet him.
Lyria: Hmm, that's a problem.
Vyrn: Oh! What if we ask the Knickknack Shack? I bet we could get some hints there!
Lyria: Come to think of it, Siero was the one who gave us those tickets to Bill the Bard's play!
Vyrn: Let's just swing by the Knickknack Shack for now!
Juliet: Okay! Lead the way, (Captain)!

Hope for Verona: Scene 2

Juliet uses her experiences in Verona to write a heartfelt letter that Sierokarte will to deliver to Bill the Bard. A few days later, the playwright responds by asking Juliet to come visit him.

Sierokarte: Well, well! Hello, everyone! What brings you here today?
After explaining the situation to Siero, (Captain) and company ask her about Bill the Bard's whereabouts.
Sierokarte: Oh, of course I know!
Vyrn: Sweet! That's the Knickknack Shack for you! This'll save us some time!
Lyria: Please, Siero! Can you tell us where we can find Bill the Bard?
Sierokarte: I'd love to introduce you, but I'm under a confidentiality agreement. I can't be giving out personal information willy-nilly!
Juliet: In that case could you deliver a letter and find out if he'd be willing to speak to us?
Sierokarte: Let's see... Yes, I think I could manage to get a letter to him.
Juliet: Thank you so much!
Sierokarte: Now I've never met him face-to-face before, so don't get your hopes up, okay?
Juliet heads back to Verona, mulling over what to write in her letter to Bill the Bard.
As she walks through the streets of Verona, Juliet begins to question her feelings about the theater.
Juliet: (Why do I want to make a theater for this city?)
Juliet: (Romeo... What would you say in this situation?)
Juliet: (What can I write to touch the playwright's heart?)
Juliet converses openly with the townsfolk.
She gets the sense that everyone is mentally exhausted from the reconstruction efforts, and they're looking for fun and comfort.
Juliet: (I'm doing the right thing.)
Juliet: (This will help all the townspeople smile again.)
Juliet returns to her room and pours her heart into the letter to Bill the Bard. She then entrusts it to Siero.
A few days later, Juliet returns to the Knickknack Shack, and Siero hands her a reply.
Juliet: I didn't think I'd get a response.
In the letter, Bill the Bard writes that he wants to meet and talk more in person.
Sierokarte: Ehehe! Isn't that grand? Wouldn't you call this a miracle?
Sierokarte: However, Bill the Bard isn't in the best of health.
Sierokarte: Could all of you go meet him directly?
Juliet: Of course! That'd be no problem at all!
Lyria: This is great news, Juliet!
Juliet: Thank you so much, everyone! This never would've happened without all of you!
Vyrn: All right! Then it's decided! Let's get going!
Their excitement shows no signs of wavering as they board the airship and set off to meet Bill the Bard.

Hope for Verona: Scene 3

Juliet and Bill are engrossed in conversation, and Bill eventually agrees to pen a new play for Juliet.

Using the directions written in the letter, the party arrives at Bill the Bard's house.
Vyrn: I was expecting something fancier.
Juliet: Well, here goes.
Juliet timidly knocks on the door, and an elderly man peeks out from inside.
???: I've been waiting for you, Lady Juliet.
Juliet: Are you the playwright, Bill the Bard?
Bill the Bard: Yes, that would be me. Please come inside.
Bill the Bard leads them into his house.
Juliet: Um, how are you feeling?
Bill the Bard: Not so bad these days, but do you mind if I lie down for our chat?
Juliet: Of course not. Go right ahead.
Bill the Bard: Please forgive my rudeness, Lady Juliet.
Bill looks a bit guilty as he lays back in his bed.
(Captain) and the others stand off to the side so as not to interfere with the conversation.
Juliet: I hope you'll forgive me for asking, but why did you decide to meet with me?
Bill the Bard: Hm. Let's call it fate.
Juliet: Fate?
Bill the Bard: Yes. The young me would have turned you down, even if it was a request from Sierokarte.
Bill the Bard: But I've had a change of heart these days. Maybe it's because I'm getting on in years.
Bill the Bard: I want to try and break away from predetermined stories for a change.
Juliet: What do you mean by that?
Bill the Bard: Lady Juliet, have you not experienced this yourself?
Bill the Bard: Have you ever felt as though another Juliet was observing your moments of joy, rage, sorrow, and amusement?
Bill the Bard: Life is a play that you perform only once. You're the star of the show, but you're also the audience looking on.
Bill the Bard: In times like those, I think I'd rather leave the story to someone else who's better at entertaining the audience.
Juliet: That's a fascinating philosophy.
Bill the Bard: Hehe. I'm glad you think so.
Bill the Bard: Well, I'll leave it at that. Now then, could you tell this old playwright your story?
Juliet: Certainly! I'd be more than happy to tell you.
Bill and Juliet talk and talk as if they were old friends and quickly lose track of the time.
Juliet talks about all manner of topics, from the theater to her own life story.
For once she is acting like a normal youth.
Juliet: Oh my goodness, is it that late already?
Juliet: I don't want to risk your condition getting worse, so I'll be going now.
Bill the Bard: Why thank you for your concern, Lady Juliet. You're every bit the lovely lady I've always imagined you to be.
Juliet: Thank you very much. It's strange. It doesn't feel like this is my first time meeting you.
Juliet: Is it possible we've met somewhere before?
Bill the Bard: Hehe. I'm a playwright. It's only natural that I could sense your personality just from reading your letter.
With that final, mysterious remark, their conversation draws to a close.
Bill the Bard: I'll be honest with you.
Bill the Bard: I was thinking about retiring due to my illness before I received your letter.
Juliet: Really?
Bill the Bard: But after reading your letter and meeting you in person, I've changed my mind.
Bill the Bard: It would be my pleasure to write a new play for you.
Juliet: Thank you. Really, thank you so much.
Bill the Bard: No, I should be the one thanking you.
Bill the Bard: There is, however, one condition.
Juliet: What might that be?
Bill the Bard: From now until I finish writing the play...
Bill the Bard: Would you be my pen pal?
Juliet: Yes, of course! I would love to!
Bill the Bard: Hehe. Wonderful. As for what's transpired today...
Juliet: It's our little secret, right?
They smile mischievously at each other.
A new friendship blooms before the day is over.

Hope for Verona: Scene 4

Months pass, and the opening performance of the play at the newly completed theater is a huge success, which brings a familiar smile back to Juliet's face.

As Bill and Juliet continue to exchange letters, their friendship gradually deepens.
Months pass, and the construction of Verona's new theater is finished. Its inauguration takes place on a bright, sunny day.
Bill the Bard's new play is the talk of the town. All of the seats are soon sold out.
The crowd is boiling with excitement, and opening night looks to be a huge success.
Juliet: Incredible. So this is Bill the Bard's new play.
Juliet: (But why does it feel so different? It's like nothing he's ever written before.)
Juliet watches the play to the end and is overcome with an indescribable feeling.
Juliet: (It feels so new, and yet it's so familiar.)
Juliet: (The pedigree is the same as his previous works, but something is decisively different.)
Juliet: (Even when it handles heavy topics, the entire production is full of energy. The dialogue radiates with hope for the future.)
Juliet: (Sigh. I can't quite put it in words. I wonder what Romeo would think if he saw this play.)
Juliet: (Say, Romeo. How would you describe this feeling if you were in my shoes?)
Vyrn: Hey! Juliet! What are you spacing out for?
Juliet: Yes? What is it?
Lyria: It's time to go up on the stage, Juliet!
Juliet: Oh, that's right! I'll be right there!
Juliet runs up onto the brand-new stage and stands in the center. After catching her breath, she looks out over the audience.
Juliet: Wow.
Juliet is greeted with thunderous applause. She sees giant bouquets of flowers of every color in every direction.
Juliet: (What a relief. I knew I'd made the right decision.)
Juliet looks for any sign of Bill, who she had invited.
She speaks partly to the crowd and partly to Bill the Bard himself.
Juliet: First, I would like to sincerely thank everyone for gathering here on this special day.
Juliet: And I would like to thank Bill the Bard, the playwright who crafted such a wonderful play for us.
Juliet: Thanks to you, Verona Theater's inauguration day has been an overwhelming success.
Juliet: The theater will continue to showcase your play and all the hope it invokes.
Juliet: We will continue to perform it as a symbol of the reconstruction efforts.
Juliet: Thank you so, so much!
Juliet's expression is bright and cheerful amid the ceaseless applause of gratitude.
Time heals all wounds, and so too will the citizens of Verona recover from theirs.
