On the Island of the Four Symbols, lore tells of mystic powerful beasts.
The eastern beast, as swift as a storm.
The southern beast, with wings of flame.
The western beast, with thunderous roar.
The northern beast, with impervious shield.
Now they awaken. Now they rise.
Notable Rewards
Complete each showdown and raid boss; each awards Crystal ×50 on first-time completion.
Complete the daily mission for a free Crystal ×100 each day.
Collect badges for the Crystal ×1,000 and Premium Draw Ticket rewards. Obtaining badges is time-consuming and the event is short. Plan accordingly.
For Everyone
* Complete the Daily Mission for free Crystal ×100
The investment for these is trivial and more or less pays for itself
Note that while stockpiling recovery items may seem unnecessary at low ranks due to the frequent AP/EP resets, it is helpful later when farming time-limited events for powerful rewards
The Eternals Unlock Treasure Set provides an excellent amount of resources for minimal cost, significantly cutting or eliminating the materials grind to unlock an Eternal. Even if you have all ten Eternals, materials such as Antique Cloth are always in demand
Seals are used to uncap Celestial weapons to 4★. Buy the respective elemental seal(s) for the weapon(s) that you bought if you can afford it. Note that raising a weapon to Level 150 requires a tremendous amount of fodder, so it's often more efficient to stop after unlocking weapon's skill upgrade (usually at 101 or 120) if fodder becomes scarce
Seal pendant prices reset every iteration, so buying at least one or two of each seal can be cost-effective
* SR Weapon Tickets can only draw SR weapons and restock each event. You can potentially get SR character weapons, but at a low rate. Useful for new players seeking a larger character roster or veteran players seeking weapon stones via reduction and/or Silver Moons via duplicate characters
Archangel itemRandom SR Archangel weapon or Queen.s are very cost effective and a good way to spend spare pendants, but keep in mind that pendants can carry over from one iteration of the event to the next
Blue Sky Crystal will most likely not be a priority it can be farmed outside of the event, but getting some may expedite certain uncap processes if you have Pendants to spare
For New Players
New and low-rank players have relative difficulty farming large quantities of Four Symbols Pendants and may lack the setup to utilize some of the event's more advanced rewards. The event repeats fairly regularly, so it's advisable to spend wisely on rewards which will give an immediate impact.
These weapons are 3★ uncapped upon purchase, and can be fully uncapped (4★) with a respective seal, offering high base ATK/HP and powerful, SL10-15 Weapon Skills.
The second skill will be unlocked at lv 120, after uncapping with the respective seal first.
All of the skills are Omega-type which means that they will be boosted by the Omega summons that most players will be using. Most will be long-term additions due to the dual skills offering more value overall than a single attack skill.
* Supreme Merits drop quite often in higher-end content. Buy these if you need to uncap SSR characters or if you need more for your Revenant Weapon. However, your pendants are more cost-effective on other items.
Flohrenberk provides a 10% bonus to all Honor points gained during events (excluding this event and Unite and Fight). For new players, this will help with time and AP/EP efficiency during events. Even without serious aspirations, it will help getting more Honor milestone rewards.
These weapons offer a Big Omega Attack alongside an uncommon Progression skill. Progression gives a slowly increasing elemental attack bonus that is valuable when running two Omega summons in longer fights.
These weapons, though powerful, require access to Huanglong and Qilin (Raid) to fully uncap and unlock the progression skill, and are thus a lower priority than the seasonal Omega weapons.
These weapons are 3★ uncapped upon purchase, and can be fully uncapped (4★) with a respective seal, offering very high base ATK/HP and powerful, SL10-15 Weapon Skills, providing a significant boost to new Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind grids in addition to moderate late-game potential for certain setups
Unlike the season-themed weapons like Summer's Mirage, these weapons offer Normal-modifier skills which will only be boosted by rare Optimus summons like Agni, so these weapons will be a lower priority and may be skipped if you already have a complete grid; see Basic Grids for more info.
Qilin and Huanglong weapons can be very powerful but require Rank 80 and completion of Chapter 69 of the Main Story to participate in the raids required to farm them (see below)
These items can be obtained for free from Beast Badge rewards or rarely drop from the event bosses while farming for other rewards.
The Lyre boosts EXP Gain and Trident boosts Rank EXP Gain, and are useful long term for grind efficiency. However, their effects do not stack, and as such only a single uncapped copy is needed of each.
The Burner boosts drop rate as a mainhand weapon, and a single uncapped copy retains niche usefulness for grinding with a Fire Mystic/Nekomancer party.
The Broadsword boosts HP and DEF, but is inferior to other HP and DEF boosting weapons.
Skill Shard and Skill Jewel can be acquired much more easily from the Casino, but are an acceptable last-resort if in desperate need of immediate fodder
For Advanced Players
These suggestions are geared for players who can efficiently farm the event, usually by being able to solo the Extreme bosses, MVP (or at least place in the top 3) when hosting Extreme+ bosses, and participate in Huanglong and/or Qilin trains.
These weapons have unique buffs for characters in specific party positions, but also grant a penalty. Similarly to the other set of Celestial weapons, they are already 3★ uncapped and can be 4★ uncapped with a respective beast seal. They generally have niche usefulness and buying them is up to you.
Fire Harps are scarce outside of events, and even rare within Premium Draw so the Zhuque Lyrewings are one of the few options for harp main weapons that fire will have outside of element changed weapons.
Purchased using Four Symbols Stone, these specialist summons offer the ability for an instant full charge bar for the team and increased charge attack power. Most players will benefit more from spending the Four Symbols Stone on a Gold Brick, but some teams may appreciate the ability for a full charge turn 1.
* Huanglong and Qilin weapons require Golden and Obsidian reams respectively to purchase and uncap, with a 30-raid train usually yielding 10-12 reams
Huanglong Katana, with both a rare Massive Normal damage skill, normally only seen on Grand Weapons and indirect Elemental ATK via its passive, has potential for any Light teams with Healing-type skills, especially in conjunction with Zeus grids
Qilin Sword is only outclassed by the True Phantom Demon Blade, Advocatus Diaboli and Claws of Terror, making it an excellent substitute or additional EX weapon. Because of its Light DMG reduction weapon skill and sabre type, it is also a viable alternative to the Demon Blade for defensive or main-hand use
Qilin Lyre is an excellent Elysian main-hand with a powerful Debuff Success Rate and Skill Damage passive and a raid-wide debuff clear on charge attack.
Qilin Bow has a rare Massive Normal damage skill, normally only seen on Grand Weapons, as well as a boost to the damage cap. Similar to the 'Malus' variants of the four beast weapons, most players will want a copy of this eventually.
Endlessly purchasing Golden Beast Seals is a reasonable final avenue for very advanced players who have purchased everything else they might want from the event
Hosting individual Huanglong (Raid) and Qilin (Raid) will provide better chances of a Gold Brick dropping as there will be twice as many host chests with twice as many raids
Participation in Huanglong and Qilin (Raid) provides multiple benefits over the stand alone version to compensate for the lesser chances of a Gold Brick
This raid is the only way to obtain Qilin and Huanglong.
Huanglong Omega Anima and Qilin Omega Anima are necessary for many uncaps and only drop from this raid - getting them otherwise requires an expensive series of trading steps.
There is a Cardinal bonus multiplier of 1.2x for Four Symbols Pendants when defeating Extreme beasts during boosted times. The bonus changes every 2 hours and can be found on the right side of the event screen in JST. The Battle the Beasts banner will display the current bonus beast, and, if you attempt to summon an Extreme beast, there will be a purple symbol over the boosted beast. As of August 2016, all players share the same Cardinal bonuses.
The Cardinal bonus applies when a raid boss is summoned or join. This means if you summon an Extreme+ boss but defeat it after the Cardinal bonus has changed, you will still get the 1.5x multiplier.
Primal Bosses
On the event main screen, there is a glowing crystal ball. As you defeat beasts, it will shine brighter and brighter. Defeat 8 beasts that you have summoned and you can summon a primal (joining beast raids of other players also fills the ball). The four primals are Agni, Neptune, Titan, and Zephyrus. These raids drop more Pendants and also have a small chance to drop Premium Draw SR/SSR weapons. The Primal you can summon is based on the current Cardinal Bonus and costs 30 AP to initiate. Primal raids have an initial cost of 3 EP, but grant 25% ATKUnique modifier and 50% HP buffs. Under 50% HP, the EP cost is reduced to 2 and buffs drops to 15%. Under 25% HP, the EP cost drops to 1 and you will gain no buffs. The Cardinal bonus for Primals is 1.5x.
The text describing the state of the crystal will change every 10% closer you are to being able to summon the primal.
0-9%: The crystal's power is dormant.
10-19%: The crystal's power has stirred.
20-29%: The crystal glows faintly.
30-39%: The crystal is dimly lit.
40-49%: The crystal is alight with power.
50-59%: The crystal emits a gentle light.
60-69%: The crystal dazzles radiantly!
70-79%: The crystal is sparkling!
80-89%: The crystal shines bright!
90-99%: The crystal glows brightly!
100%: The crystal divinely shimmers.
Notes:
Clearing a Maniac difficulty Showdown instantly fills the ball to full. The game will display a popup warning for these battles if players attempt to start the fight while the ball is already close to full, as doing so would effectively waste most of that bonus.
During a Crew's Strike Time, players can choose any of the four Primals to summon, regardless of Cardinal Bonus schedule.
Anytime the ball is filled completely, the player also gains the ability to start a battle against Shenxian for the remainder of the current event run. These hosts will be stacked, whereas the Primal battle will at least have to be started before the player can work on filling the ball again.
Earning Pendants
In addition to pendants from red and gold chests, raid battles give an entry bonus of pendants for hosts and early joiners, and have a bonus multiplier based on honors gained in battle
Extreme raids:
Entry bonus: 50, Maximum multiplier: 2x
Extreme+ raids:
Entry bonus: 100, Maximum multiplier: 9x
Increasingly higher amounts of honors are required to reach higher multipliers, as listed below
Players have a daily event mission to clear Extreme and/or Extreme+ three times for each of the four main elements. This includes both hosting your own and joining other player's raids. Clearing each mission rewards Four Symbols Pendant ×500 (total of 2000 for all four missions). Completing all four missions rewards Crystal ×100. This mission resets daily at 05:00 JST (13:00 PDT).
If this daily mission is not completed by the scheduled reset time, any partial progress will carry over into the next day's daily mission progress.
Maniac difficulty battles can only be fought twice per day, shared across all four elements.
Proud and Proud+ battles can only be cleared once each and must be unlocked again every run.

Up to 100,000 Four Symbols Pendants can be saved up at once; any symbols obtained over 100,000 will overflow past the limit and you cannot earn more symbols until you're below 100,000. Symbols obtained from clearing Proud and Proud+ ignore this limit and will still be awarded. Specific honor thresholds grant an increasing bonus multiplier on the number of Pendants you receive from the battle. This bonus applies to both the early join bonus and any chests won, and multiplies with the Cardinal bonus. Because Four Symbols Pendants are not honor, the Flohrenberk dagger skill does not increase the number earned for this event.
The Pendant shop is available for a week after the event ends. Unspent Pendants will carry over to the next event, so there is no need to spend them before the shop closes.
Updated for the 2020-06-07 rerun. The trade rate for the first 15 Gold Nuggets is 5000 Pendants each, then 10,000 Pendants each for the remainder of the event. The Pendant trade rate resets for each event rerun.
The Beast Summons are located in Siero's shop under Treasure Trade > Quest Items > Summons filter > All.
Because these summons are not directly tied to this event's shop, they can be traded for even while the Rise of the Beasts event is not active. Four Symbols summons are 3★ uncapped.
Each beast drops its own badge. Higher difficulty raids have a higher chance of earning badges. Accumulate badges to earn rewards. The rewards for each badge type are the same except where noted. The four Primals drop the same badges as their beast elemental counterparts.
The Four Symbols (Chinese: 四象; pinyin: Sì Xiàng) are four mythological creatures in the Chinese constellations. They are the Azure Dragon (Qing Long) of the East, the Vermilion Bird (Zhu Que) of the South, the White Tiger (Bai Hu) of the West, and the Black Turtle (Xuan Wu) of the North. While originating from China, the Four Symbols are also widely known in Korea, Japan and Vietnam. Each region has distinct names for the symbols. In Japan, the Shijin, as they are collectively known, are called Seiryū, Suzaku, Byakko and Genbu respectively.
Leverrier's name is taken from Urbain Le Verrier, the French astronomer who is credited for being one of the first to discover the existence of the planet Neptune.
