Strategy

The key to defeating Gilbert is compensating for his mechanical gimmicks. His damage and health is not exceptionally difficult to endure otherwise.

As a result, it does not require an exceptional grid, but demands very specific character/summon utilities.

The major gimmicks with suggested counters are as follows:

  • All Phases - Gilbert periodically gains powerful local buffs
  • All Phases - Gilbert casts a very punishing trigger (Theatre of Pain) if he has less than 6 (7 in Phase 3) debuffs at the end of each turn
  • Phase Changes (70%, 30%) - Gilbert removes all debuffs on himself
