A Tale of Intersecting Fates - What Must Be Done - Episode 5

Responding to the cry from Milla's heart, the Four Great Spirits appear. With the miasma banished, Milla and the party realize—to their great relief—that Milla's spirits have saved Katalina. Energized with the power of her spirits, Milla faces off against the whirlpool again.

Lyria: Katalina... No! This can't be happening...
Milla: Damn it. She was right beside me!
As Milla kneels despondently at the cliff's edge, a droplet of water lands on her thigh, and then another...
Milla: Are these... tears...?
The miasma around Milla dissipates, as if dispelled by the swirling grief in her heart.
Milla: Hmm...?
Vyrn: What just happened?
Milla: This feeling... Undine!
As Milla shouts the name, the Four Great Spirits emerge around her.
Undine rises from the ravine before Milla. In her arms rests Katalina, asleep in a watery womb.
Katalina: ...
Milla: Efreet! Gnome! Sylph! I am so glad that you're all here.
Katalina is laid at Milla's feet, and the Four fuse with Milla, coalescing into one.
The fight returns to Milla's eyes. And this time, she will be facing the primal beast with magnitudes more power than she'd possessed mere moments ago.
Milla: Behold, vile creature! The advantage is now mine!
Milla: Witness the full might of Maxwell!

A Tale of Intersecting Fates - What Must Be Done - Episode 5: Scene 2

After fighting off the primal beast, a shining door appears before Milla and (Captain)'s party. Milla walks toward the portal to her world, but stops to say one final thing to Katalina: "Focus wholeheartedly on doing what you must." After hearing Katalina's reply, Milla bids the party a dispassionate farewell and returns to her own world.

Having reclaimed the power of the Four, Milla and (Captain)'s crew manage to drive away the primal beast.
The island's miasma and stagnant air clear to reveal a shining door.
Milla: This would appear to be the door back to my world.
Lyria: K-Katalina... are you okay?
Katalina: I am. I'm perfectly fine. The spirit magic completely healed my wounds.
Katalina: When I was unconscious, I could sense that my body was being enveloped in something.
Katalina: Was that one of your spirits, Milla?
Milla: Huh. Apparently you're all able to perceive them.
Milla: That was the water spirit, Undine. They say her heart is as pure as a pool of clear water.
Milla: It is a part of your nature. Pure water is drawn to you.
Katalina: It... It is...?
Milla: This is goodbye. For real, this time.
Katalina: You're going home? To continue your mission?
Milla: Yes. I will do what I must.
Katalina: What you must...
Milla: Come along, my Four.
Milla steps directly toward the shining door, showing no hint of hesitation.
But at its threshold, she suddenly stops.
Milla: Katalina.
Katalina: What is it? Shouldn't you hurry home?
Milla: You should focus wholeheartedly on doing what you must.
Milla: For it is that, not your knighthood or anything else, which defines you.
Katalina: Wh-What... How do you know anything about...
Katalina: No. You're right. I will... I will do that.
Milla: Then I wish you well.
With a dispassionate farewell, Milla steps through the door of light. She doesn't look back.
Katalina: Milla Maxwell... I wonder if she'll return here once she's done what she needed to do?
However, the ancient legends say that Vacheron doesn't distort space-time for the sake of mere mischief.
Could this meeting with the Great Spirits have been something Vacheron arranged...?
