Handsome Gorilla - Chapter 4: Never Give Up - Episode 3

The girl who appears before the physically incapacitated Lunalu is a younger version of herself. Young Lunalu is all doom and gloom, but her pessimism turns out to be an act to goad Lunalu into action—a successful one at that, giving her the emotional strength to push forward.

Lunalu remains immobile from the tumble down the slope.
Her former self has appeared before her.
Lunalu: Wh-what's happening?
Lunalu: Could this be a side effect of the Handsome Gorilla?
Ordinary Girl: Are you going to give up the dream you chased so hard and even went gorilla-crazy for?
Lunalu: W-well...
Ordinary Girl: Well?
Lunalu: Well, how should I put this...
Lunalu: The manuscript's all scattered... And the printers' submission deadline has already passed...
Ordinary Girl: I see.
Ordinary Girl: That sucks. I guess some dreams just aren't meant to be.
Lunalu: A-and my body's all stiff... I'm hurt pretty bad!
Ordinary Girl: Yep, that's life. Just have to take it as it comes.
Lunalu: ...
Ordinary Girl: What do you expect? That's simply how things are.
Lunalu: Why... Why would you say something so awful?
Ordinary Girl: Look who's talking. Why are you obsessed with that stuff anyway?
Ordinary Girl: Look at how I live my life.
Ordinary Girl: It was sheer luck that got you this far. You've been chasing a mirage.
Ordinary Girl: You said it yourself just now.
Lunalu: I know, but... No, that's not it!
Ordinary Girl: ...?
Lunalu: I can't count the number of times I've goofed around, procrastinated, and just straight up forgot about it all.
Lunalu: I'm a hopeless heap of trash who can't get anything done even with the help of friends!
Lunalu: Yet I can still feel myself getting closer to my dream! Even if it's only baby steps I'm taking!
Lunalu: So don't you tell me this is how things are supposed to be! Our dreams aren't so flimsy that they'd fall to such pathetic excuses!
Ordinary Girl: ...
Lunalu: Sniff... Say something!
Ordinary Girl: You came too close to giving up just now.
Lunalu: I just got a little discouraged is all! But I'm telling you no lie—for the most part that is.
Ordinary Girl: Are you sure about that?
Lunalu: Y-yes! How about you show a little faith in yourself!
Ordinary Girl: Can you stand then? We need to pick up the manuscript.
Lunalu: Of course! I haven't trained my body as a skyfarer for noth—
Lunalu: Oww!
Ordinary Girl: ...
Lunalu: Ahaha... My hand slipped.
Lunalu: One more go!
Lunalu: Hrrgh...
Her body feels as heavy as chainmail as she struggles to push herself upright with trembling arms.
Lunalu's younger self comes rushing to help her up.
Lunalu: Th-thank you...
Ordinary Girl: Sorry if it seemed like I was bullying you. Our dream rests in your hands now.
Lunalu: Okay...
Ordinary Girl: I'm your biggest fan. Don't forget to be your own.
Lunalu: Right!
Ordinary Girl: It's time to stand up and carry on, Lunalu!
