SIEGFRIED - Chapter 5: Hopelessness - Episode 2

Together with the White Dragons, (Captain) and company make their way toward the location of the leyline, where they encounter Siegfried. But something seems amiss, and he roars and attacks the group. Unable to get through to him with words, (Captain) and the others have no choice but to use force.

Lancelot and company march for the border in search of a research facility, but something else finds them first.

Siegfried: ...

Lancelot: Everyone, wait. Is that...

Percival: Siegfried?

Vyrn: He escaped on his own? Looks like we didn't need to do anythin' after all.

Lyria: Something doesn't seem right though.

Siegfried: Grrr... Groaaar!

White Dragon 1: Eep!

With inhuman speed, Siegfried rushes at a nearby knight.

1. Watch out!

Choose: Watch out!

Siegfried: Groar!

(Captain) jumps between them at the last second.

White Dragon 1: Y-you saved me.

Lancelot: Thanks for your help, (Captain).

Siegfried: Grrr... Graah...

Lancelot: Siegfried! It's me! Lancelot!

Siegfried: Guh... Gurrgh!

A strange glint shines in Siegfried's eyes.

Percival: Lancelot, I think it's safe to say he's lost control of himself.

Lancelot: The rest of you, get back!

White Dragon 1: Y-yes, sir!

Percival: We'll take care of this. Lancelot, (Captain), with me!

Lancelot: We'll stop him!

1. Understood!

Choose: Understood!

Vyrn: I don't really get what's goin' on, but I guess we've gotta fight!

Lyria: I'll provide some backup!

SIEGFRIED - Chapter 5: Hopelessness - Episode 2: Scene 2

(Captain) and company are unable to defeat the mighty Siegfried, and a sense of unrest spreads through the White Dragon knights. Just then, Gunther appears and announces his plan to have Siegfried destroy Feendrache and his friends by his own hand. Siegfried attacks again at Gunther's command, but the next thing they know he is encased in ice.

Siegfried: Groooaaar!

Lancelot: Argh!

Percival: Ugh...

1. He's strong...

Choose: He's strong...

It comes as no surprise that Siegfried is a tough opponent, but none of them expected to be defeated so soundly.

Vyrn: This is lookin' real rough! Lyria, can't you do somethin' about him?

Lyria: Huff... Huff...
I don't sense the power of a primal beast inside him, so I don't think I can calm him down!

White Dragon 1: Not even the whole lot of us can put a dent in him.

White Dragon 2: This is the former captain of the Black Dragons we're talking about! There's no way we can deal with this...

Lancelot: Ugh... We're losing morale, and fast.

Percival: Yes, but that will be the least of our problems if we don't figure out something soon.

Siegfried: Grooaar!

Gunther: Wait a moment, Siegfried.

Siegfried: Gurgh!

An unwelcome face appears next to the roaring Siegfried.

Gunther: Heh heh heh... He's always had the strength of a beast, wouldn't you say?

Lancelot: Gunther! You're the one responsible for this, aren't you!

Percival: What did you do to him!

Gunther: Do? Not much.

Siegfried: Agh! Argghh!

Gunther: I'll just stimulate the blood of Fafnir that runs through you.

Gunther: Not that you're listening anymore.

Siegfried: Grrr...

Gunther: That's right. Who's a good boy?

Lancelot: What do you aim to achieve by doing this?

Gunther: Isn't it obvious?

Gunther: I'm going to have Siegfried destroy his beloved country and comrades with his own two hands.

Percival: You... You're worse than scum.

Gunther: Heh heh heh.

Gunther: (Everything will be over once we reach the capital.)

Gunther has plenty of time to gloat as Lancelot and the others stand unmoving.

White Dragon 1: Th-there's no way we can beat a monster like this!

White Dragon 2: Nobody in the capital will be safe from him!

Despair grips the knights as they watch this situation unfold.

Lancelot: Everyone calm down! We'll handle this!

Lancelot: (But we can't hold back if we want to take Siegfried out.)

Vyrn: Darn it! This ain't lookin' good, (Captain)!

Lyria: What do we do, (Captain)?

1. There has to be something!

Choose: There has to be something!

Percival: Lancelot, (Captain), defeat is inevitable if we keep fighting defensively.

Lancelot: I know. I'm trying to come up with a new plan.

Gunther: Time's a-wasting, so if you insist on getting in my way, I'll just feed you to my pet.

Gunther: Go, boy! It's dinner time!

Siegfried: Grooaaar!

Siegfried obediently surges forward at Gunther's command.

But he doesn't make it very far.

???: Freeze.

Siegfried: Gurgh!

In a flash, Siegfried is encased entirely in ice.
