Following in your Footsteps
The crew is asked by the Jewel Resort to get rid of some animated snowmen. Metera's not interested, but Sutera wants to watch her fight and gets her to help. Sutera's respect for Metera only grows as she watches her sister defeat foe after foe. She takes on the snowmen that slip past Metera.
Some time has passed since the end-of-year festivities, and (Captain) and company are at the Jewel Resort for a job.
They are to dispose of some snowmen that had been magically animated for the recent celebration.
Metera: Brrr... So cold... And that means I'm heading back to the airship! See you!
Vyrn: Hey, slacker! Where do you think you're going? You haven't taken down a single snowman yet!
Metera: But it's cold, and this is such a pain... I'm sure you guys can handle a few snowmen without me!
Sutera: (Captain), I've found the snowmen!
Sutera: Metera, I'm counting on you to lead us through this!
Metera: I don't think so. I'm going back to the airship.
Sutera: What? But why? Oh! Are you not feeling well?
Sutera: Are you running a fever? Do you have a cough? We need to get you warmed up!
Metera: I don't have a cold!
Sutera: Oh... okay then. In that case, I'd really appreciate it if you could help us out.
Metera: Why? You and (Captain) should be able to handle a job like this on your own.
Sutera: It's an honor that you have so much faith in me, dear sister, but I still have a long way to go...
Sutera: In particular, I'm nowhere near your level in using my arcane bow.
Sutera: So I'd really like to watch you fight to get better!
Metera: Do you really need me to do this?
Sutera: Yes! I need you, Metera!
Sutera: Won't you please help me out?
Metera: All right, all right! If you want me to that badly, I'll do it!
Metera: Always with the puppy-dog eyes... You'd better not be doing that on purpose.
Sutera: You're the best, Metera! I'll do what I can to keep up!
Metera: Ugh, what a pain... Let's get those snowmen then.
With that, Metera leaps into the air and flies toward the snowmen.
(Captain) and the crew catch up to Metera and see that she has already felled several snowmen with her arcane arrows.
Sutera: Incredible! I can't summon arcane arrows nearly that quickly!
Sutera: Her speed must have to do with how well she handles her magic. And her aim is fearfully accurate too...
Sutera: It's probably arrogant of me to even imagine that I could imitate her.
Snowman: ...!
Lyria: Eek!
Sutera: Lyria, watch out! Get behind me!
Lyria: Okay!
Sutera: There are so many of them that some are slipping past even Metera. Let's mop up the stragglers!
Following in your Footsteps: Scene 2
The job is going well, but Metera lets her concentration slip and gets hit by a monster. Luckily she's only knocked unconscious. Sutera is furious and stands up to face her sister's assailant.
Metera: Phew... Looks like that was the last of 'em. How was that, Sutera? Good enough for you?
Sutera: ...
Metera: Sutera?
Sutera: Just... amazing! What more can I say? Has there ever been a fighting style quite like yours?
Sutera: You really live up to your legend. I've learned so much just by watching you. Thank you so much!
Metera: Oh. Well... As long as you're happy, I guess.
Sutera: I am! You're so much more impressive than I thought! That just means I have even further to go to reach your level!
Metera: Well... Try not to overdo it. You need to relax once in a while.
Sutera: You're right. Trying too hard can get in the way of actually learning something. I'll try my best to not try so hard!
Metera: That's not quite what I... Oh, whatever.
Metera: This is exactly why you've always been so hard for me to shake off, ever since we were little.
Vyrn: Wow... So even you can be nice when it comes to your sister.
Lyria: Hee-hee. That's just what sisters do, right? They look out for each other!
Snowman: ...!
Snowmen: ...!
Hailclops: Roar!
Metera: ...!
A gigantic icy monstrosity, the fearful result of multiple snowmen combining, unleashes a punch with terrifying speed.
The sudden attack catches Metera off guard and hits her at full force.
Sutera: Metera!
Sutera: Metera, are you all right? Metera!
Lyria: It's okay, it looks like she's just been knocked out! Thank goodness!
Sutera: Whew... But I still think she needs treatment as soon as possible.
Hailclops: Roar!
Sutera: You'll pay for attacking my sister! And I won't let you lay one icy finger on (Captain) or any of the others!
Sutera: I swear on my honor as a wielder of the arcane bow that I will bring you down!
Sutera: Here I come!
Following in your Footsteps: Scene 3
When Metera wakes up back at the airship, Sutera is overcome with relief and begins to cry. Metera teases her about overracting, but is also moved by her sister's concern.
After defeating Hailclops, Sutera, (Captain), and the rest of the crew take Metera back to the airship.
Metera: Ugh...
Sutera: Metera! Are you awake?
Metera: Sutera? W-Where am I?
Vyrn: You got blindsided by one of the monsters and blacked out!
Metera: Is that what happened? How... uncool of me.
Sutera: Sob...
Metera: Sutera? What's wrong?
Sutera: Metera! I'm so glad that you're all right!
Sutera: When... When you didn't wake up straight away, I thought... I thought...
Metera: Sigh... you didn't have to worry. You always overreact when things like this happen.
Metera: I may have been knocked out, but it would take a lot more than that to kill me.
Sutera: But...
Metera: I know, I know. You're a worrier, and there's nothing I can do about it.
Metera: You really are a good person, you know?
Sutera: Huh? Did you say something?
Metera: Nope! Phew, I'm famished! Sutera, go get me some snacks to munch on!
Sutera: Of course! I'll brew some tea as well!
Metera with her natural talent, and Sutera with her outstanding hard work.
Despite their opposite personalities, the two sisters share a close bond, and together they continue to move forward on their journey.
