Together in Song - Chapter 6: Reversing the Distortion - Episode 1

The next day Niyon departs from the island in order to recruit help, sensing looming danger. (Captain) and the crew visit the shelter where they learn that the artist had been trying to destroy a painting while seemingly hallucinating. As the islanders are removing Caro's artwork from the shelter, the paintings and statues begin to vibrate and transform into monsters.

Niyon: He lost?
Niyon: (This is much more than just dissonance... The melody's changing completely.)
Niyon: (There's something wrong with his melody too. It feels unpleasant, just like the melody of the island.)
Niyon dashes outside, clutching her harp. Desperate to fulfill her duty as one of the Eternals, she starts to head toward the source of the strange melody but stops in her tracks.
Niyon: (No... My music alone won't be enough. I need their help.)
Having a revelation, Niyon boards a cargo ship docked at the port and speeds away from the island.
Vyrn: Harp Girl ran off again, huh.
Lyria: Is she investigating the island? She's been gone since early this morning.
Vyrn: Well, I guess she'll come back eventually.
???: Hey! Get me out of here!
Elta: ...!
That voice...
Ceramic Artist: Yes, it's that artist fellow. He started running riot before the sun came up, so we locked him up in the storeroom.
Selfira: You locked him up?
Ceramic Artist: It's not like we wanted to do it. But he was becoming so violent we didn't have a choice.
The woman gestures to a painting in the corner of the shelter. It lies in tatters from what appear to be wild knife slashes.
Elta: He did this?
Ceramic Artist: That's right. He was slashing it to pieces with a murderous look on his face.
Ceramic Artist: It seemed like he was having some sort of hallucination. He was screaming at something to go away and threatening to kill it...
Artist: Why couldn't you people see it? None of this makes any sense! Hey!
Lyria: I wonder what happened to him?
Elta: ...
Elta surveys the room to see the islanders removing the paintings from the walls of the shelter, one by one.
Elta: So that's why you're taking down the paintings...
Ceramic Artist: That's part of it. But ever since all that commotion yesterday, we haven't really been too keen on art as it is...
Ceramic Artist: We're running out of room for all these supplies anyway, so we thought we'd tidy up a bit.
The woman reaches over to remove one of Caro's paintings from the wall.
Selfira: Huh? Was that painting always so dull?
Elta: Now that you mention it... I feel like it used to be a lot more bright and colorful...
Lyria: There's something wrong with that painting. The warmth it had up until yesterday is all gone.
Lyria: It feels threatening, like something's planning to attack at any second. It's really scary.
Vyrn: Whaddya mean? Brush Boy's magic changed or something?
Ceramic Artist: Magic? What do you mean?
Artist: Huff... Huff...
Artist's Son: Huh? Father...
Instrument Crafter: Impossible... Are you telling me he managed to kick down that heavy storeroom door?
The man's eyes are bloodshot, his face twisted with rage. His gaze falls upon the painting in his son's hands.
Artist's Son: Eek!
Instrument Crafter: Hey! Get ahold of yourself, man!
Artist: Get out of my way! That thing's the enemy, not me!
Instrument Crafter: You're seeing things! That's just one of Caro's paintings!
Artist: It's real, I tell you! And it's aiming for my son! I have to do something!
Artist's Son: S-stop! Don't hurt the painting!
Artist: Let go! It's dangerous!
The man wrestles the painting away from his son and flings it across the room. It falls to the floor, where it begins to shake violently.
Vyrn: Wh-what the heck?
The crew and the islanders stare in shock as paint begins to drip off of the painting, from which a pair of tentacles appears.
The paint expands to swallow the canvas whole, transforming into a monster without a trace of the painting's original beauty. It glares at the boy with wicked eyes.
Artist's Son: Huh... What's happening?
Lyria: There are more of them coming... I feel the same presence rising up all over the island!
Monster: ...!
Monsters: ...!
Musician: Aaah...
Ceramic Artist: Stop! Get away!
The paintings and statues within the shelter are all enveloped by black smoke or thick liquid, turning into monsters.
Elta: Wh-what's going on? Who would do such a thing?
Vyrn: Save the questions for after we give these monsters a good whuppin'!
