Dancing Flame

Having received an invitation to a ball as former Lord Commander of Albion, Vira feels her heart pounding as she makes her way to the dance hall with the rest of the crew.

There is a promise a girl has yet to fulfill.
There are words this girl has yet to say to the woman she admires most in all the skies.
Still...
Katalina: ...!
Vira: ...!
Vira: (Katalina... If this is what you truly want...)
Vira: Hraaah!
The truth was unavoidable. There was no regret in her choice.
But what remained for her after was status, honor, an unnatural amount of power...
Along with a collection of diaries in which she expresses her love for the woman she revered, and a single dress that was as red as freshly spilled blood.
Vira: ...
Vira: (I've waited so long for this day...)
Vira closes her diary, putting it in her clutch bag, and stands in front of the mirror.
Her deep crimson dress is as beautiful as petals on a rose, without a speck of dirt.
Vira: (I always believed that the crimson color of this dress is what will connect me to my fate...)
Vira: (Katalina... Tonight, let us dance to our hearts' content.)
Closing her eyes, Vira takes a deep breath before gracefully making her way out of the dressing room.
(Captain) and the crew sit in a waiting room, tucked within a castle whose design is reminiscent of the good old days.
Vira joins (Captain), Vyrn, and Lyria in the room as they wait for Katalina.
Lyria: What a beautiful castle! It's sparkling with lights everywhere... This must be a ball for extinguished people!
Vyrn: Hey, don'tcha mean distinguished people?
Vyrn: Well, Vira did get invited to this ball as former Lord Commander... But you sure it's okay for us to be here?
Vira: Of course. Since it's such a rare opportunity to have you with us, I hope everyone can enjoy the ball tonight.
Lyria: Thank you so much! I wonder what kinds of delicious food they'll have there...
Katalina: Sorry I'm late. Putting this on took longer than I'd expected.
Vira: ...!
Vira: Oh! What... what unworldly beauty!
Vira almost faints at the marvelous sight of Katalina in her dress.
Vira: The blue looks stunning, and the design has such refined elegance... It goes well with your dignified appearance, Katalina.
Vira: It brings out the charming, feminine side to you...
Vira: You look truly... truly magnificent, Katalina.
Katalina: Haha... Thank you, Vira. I suppose clothes really do make a difference.
Katalina: As for you...
Vira: ...
Katalina: You look wonderful too. The dress really suits you.
Vira: Oh, you flatter me...
Vira: But having you say that makes all the effort I put in for this ball worth it.
Katalina: Is this dress a favorite of yours?
Vira: Yes. That's why I also chose to wear this back in Albion.
Lyria: Both of you look gorgeous! I wish I could look as lovely in a dress...
Vira: Hehe, you look wonderful in that dress too, Lyria. Like a princess straight out of a picture book.
Lyria: R-really? Hehe, a princess...
The crew continue conversing happily as they make their way to the hall.
Soon they find themselves walking among men and women with a distinctly refined air to them.
Vyrn: Whoa... There sure are a lotta fancy-lookin' people around here. It's makin' me kinda nervous!
Lyria: Me too... But I'm also excited! The ball's finally about to start!
Vira: ...
Vira pulls her clutch bag up to her chest.
Feeling the weight of the diary inside her bag, she slowly lets out a breath.
Vira: (Blue and red, dancing in a grand hall... It's just like that day.)
Katalina: Hm? What's the matter, Vira? Are you feeling nervous?
Vira: Hehe. Actually, I am a little.
Vira: Come, Katalina. Let's enjoy the ball tonight.
With a faint smile on her lips, Vira leads the crew into the hall.
Beneath her delicate smile, Vira's overflowing emotions burn quietly with passion.
