Sunstones are a valuable, limited resource, and this page exists to help players decide where best to spend them. This is NOT intended to be a general tier list of summons. Despite being excellent summons, many summons such as Shiva see minimal benefit from having a Sunstone used on them and are therefore lower priority.

Special Mention: Primal Summons

The 'Optimus' and 'Demi Optimus' series summons are required for players who wish to build a Primal weapon grid. These summons are therefore top priority for players who wish to build a Primal grid, but should not have Sunstones used on them otherwise.

For players not looking to build a Primal grid, it is still recommended to keep these summons instead of reducing them, as they cannot be ticketed and players may wish to build a Primal grid in the future.

As a note, Demi Optimus summons will refund the Sunstones used to upgrade them when reduced, so investing in them and then drawing the true Optimus summon later is not entirely downside. (The 0★ version does not give a Sunstone when reduced, and the 4★ version will only yield 3 Sunstones.)

Sunstone Priority for mid and late-game players for the damage and cap increase. If not aiming for an Evoker, this is an excellent choice to prioritize spending Arcarum materials on.

Call 200% teamwide charge bar at 4★, but only guaranteed the first time it is summoned. Otherwise, mediocre call.
Sunstone Useful but not a priority as Bonito is easy to find as a support summon. Owning one is beneficial for applying a fast summon skin and for modes like Arcarum where friend summons are unavailable. Sunstone ONLY if you have Kengo or Rising Force unlocked AND can 4★ it. Ideally, uncap with copies. Full water summons is not required unless relying on the aura effect.
