Critical hit rate buff stacking/replacing

1
Sonickles9 (talkcontribs)

It is known that Critical Hit Rate UpDMG is slightly boosted for critical hits
buffs stack with each other if they are different buffs e.g. Critical Hit Rate UpDMG is slightly boosted for critical hits
and Critical Hit Rate UpDMG is slightly boosted for critical hits
stack. However it also seems that the standard Critical Hit Rate UpDMG is slightly boosted for critical hits
stacks with itself if it comes from a different source. Example below:

(Carmelina (SR) (Lebhafte BuehneAll allies gain Critical Hit Rate UpDMG is slightly boosted for critical hits
Duration: 2.5 turnsApplied during the attack phase.
On the next turn, it'll have 2 turns remaining.
, ATK UpATK is boosted
Duration: 2.5 turnsApplied during the attack phase.
On the next turn, it'll have 2 turns remaining.
, DEF UpDEF is boosted
Duration: 2.5 turnsApplied during the attack phase.
On the next turn, it'll have 2 turns remaining.
, and 10% UpliftedCharge bar is boosted on every turn
Strength: 10%Duration: 2.5 turnsApplied during the attack phase.
On the next turn, it'll have 2 turns remaining.
. (Can only be used when ApplauseMultiattack rate is boosted based on how loud Applause is (Can't be removed)
is as loud as it can be [Loudest: 5])
) + Eustace (Anti-SocialAll allies gain 45% / 50% Critical Hit Rate UpDMG is slightly boosted for critical hits
Strength: 45% chance of dealing 50% more damage.Duration: 3 turns
.
(Uses 20% of charge bar)
) do stack with each other.

Also, the criteria for overwriting is most likely the effect strength; as Anti-SocialAll allies gain 45% / 50% Critical Hit Rate UpDMG is slightly boosted for critical hits
Strength: 45% chance of dealing 50% more damage.Duration: 3 turns
.
(Uses 20% of charge bar)
, despite having a lower probability rate and duration than FortitudeGain 10% DMG AmplifiedDMG for one-foe attacks and counterattacks is amplified
Strength: 10%Multiplier: SeraphicDuration: 5 turns
, JammedATK is greatly boosted based on how low HP is
Strength: 7%-20%Duration: 5 turns
, and 70% / 50% Critical Hit Rate UpDMG is slightly boosted for critical hits
Strength: 70% chance of dealing 50% more damage.Duration: 5 turns
..
, still overwrites the latter.

Jessica's support skill

Your recent edit to Jessica's page regarding her support skill is questionable, so I had to revert it. I could not find on either gbf-wiki or GameWith that her support skill works from the backline. This is the first I've heard of this despite her being released in 2016.

I use Jessica on the backline with her EMP support, it's verifiable ingame due to the calculator reflecting the ATK buff on a male MC. If needed I can post pictures, although I'd appreciate some guidance -- I'm not used to wikis

Unfortunately, the in-game damage estimator isn't considered reliable by itself. In particular, the estimated damage changes, but not the ATK value for male characters. Testing versus the training dummy (non-elemental) and recording values (Jessica vs. no Jessica) to a spreadsheet is the best evidence to prove or disprove this case.

I see. I'll do that when I have the time.

So I discussed this situation with some staff members on discord. It looks like this is a long-standing issue with multiple characters. Narmaya's  Fortified Vigor10% boost to ATKNormal Modifier for all Draph, Primal, and Unknown allies. also affects MC the estimated damage even though it has been known for a long time that it does not work from the backline. Lilele is also another character.

For the most part, you do not need to do any testing. Generally speaking, you should not assume a support skill works from the backline unless it is:

  1. specifically stated in the game
  2. tested in battle

The MC's estimated damage should be taken with a grain of salt.
