Etymology
- The Bab-el-Mandeb (Arabic: باب المندب, lit. "Gate of Tears") is a strait located between Yemen on the Arabian Peninsula, and Djibouti and Eritrea in the Horn of Africa. It connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden.[2]
