A mother is a person who gives a part of herself and risks her life for yours A father is a person who guides the way when you cannot tell your left from your right. Don't forget to appreciate them. Even if they aren't with you, your feelings will reach them regardless.
2	✔	Huff... It's your birthday again. Another event that occurs once a year. Don't let yourself get carried away. Remember where you've come from and where you're going. Whether you realize it or not, the days passed and the days you will pass all have meaning. That meaning will someday lead you to your destiny. On this day of your birth, don't forget that the past connects us to the future.
3	✔	It's your birthday, eh? A fine day to reflect on the past year. What kind of year have you had? What were your accomplishments? What milestones have you reached? If you can't think of any, it may be time to engage in some serious self-reflection and rededicate yourself to your goals. If you can, however... I suppose you might deserve a few words of praise from me.

1	✔	Don't talk to me about trick-or-treating. The mere thought of it disgusts me. When people say trick or treat, they're practically threatening to do something to me if I don't give them candy. The fact that these threats are being passed off as recreation is out of the question. Teaching kids such filth only corrupts their minds. The only phrase they need to know for today is happy Halloween.
2	✔	I believe the original purpose of Halloween was to console Jack of the Lantern. But now it's simply an excuse for children to steal candy. How sorrowful Jack must be... Don't get me wrong. I have no problem with a day that celebrates Jack or any others that have passed. I'm sure they'd prefer us to have fun than to celebrate their loss solemnly. Just be sure to have your fun in moderation... As with all things.
3	✔	Trick or treat? ... Fine. Take this. Why so surprised? You accosted me in order to extort candy, did you not? No use fussing over foolishness only indulged in once a year. As long as you're participating, it'll probably be more amusing for me simply to follow suit. What? I'm not going to say that silly catchphrase. I have no interest in candy.
4	✔	Trick or treat, is it? Very well. I suppose I'm honored to oblige. I've prepared treats for such an occasion, so feel free to pilfer one. It's foolish to make a children's game out to be some sort a crime. You ought to make the most of it while you can still get away with such behavior. Hm? What is that candy for? How many times must I tell you? I have no interest in sweets. ... You refuse to back down until I accept it? You truly are something else. ... Trick or treat. There, are you satisfied?
5	✔	... What sort of captain becomes so absorbed in the Halloween festivities that they forget to watch their step? If I hadn't used my chains, you would have fallen down these steps like a plain fool. With no guarantee that you'll land safely at the bottom, you could have snapped your neck and died. It would be unfortunate if your crewmates recognized this day as not one of festivities but of your death for the rest of their lives. 1	✔	So it's the merriest day of the year. Ha! What a joke. Just because someone named the day doesn't make it special. And only fools would go so far as to celebrate it. Peace is only temporary, and we have better things to do. Still... I guess it's not a bad thing that people can enjoy themselves once in a while. But whatever.
2	✔	Another merry day... Only because the night was longest on this day did someone decide to give it a name. Fools are led astray by beautiful words and let themselves prance and hop. I'm not saying it's wrong to relax now and then... I'm saying to keep that to a minimum. Don't let yourself be another one of those idiots.
3	✔	Just another excuse for people to frolic meaninglessly... And yet some call this the holy night... How pretentious. I suppose there are those who require such excuse to indulge themselves. For them, this night must have significance. Appreciation may be appropriate for those who cannot otherwise unwind in their daily lives. However, there is nothing more inexcusable than unfettered merry. Even if it is the holiest night.
4	✔	This is the day of the year when everyone on the ship can have a moment of rest and relaxation. Therefore I suppose it's only fitting that some call it a holy night. One could say the crew is only able enjoy this respite as a result of the achievements your daily efforts have wrought. Enough with the vacant expression. Considering you're captain of this crew, all that should go without saying. It wouldn't do to let it go to your head, but you should at least give yourself credit where credit is due. The night is still young. I will take this opportunity to unwind briefly. You ought to get some rest as well.
5	✔	Hm? What are you doing here, (Captain)? Dinner ended quite a while ago—there shouldn't be anything else of interest. It's time you went back to your room. You're the captain of this crew. The Guiding Chains

Ezecrain pursues bandits who stole a powerful amethyst from his family. Ezecrain's own amethyst chains beckon him to join (Captain) and the crew.

To replenish their travel funds, the crew visits Siero's shop to take on a request.

Vyrn: It's times like these I'm glad you're mysteriously everywhere! Sure makes it easy to get jobs!

Sierokarte: Welcome, my friends! And thank you for always keeping my business buzzing!

Vyrn: No problem! So... What kinds of jobs do you have for us?

Vyrn: Let's see here... Babysitting... Investigating a cheating husband... Hang on! These aren't jobs for skyfarers!

Lyria: Look at this, (Captain)! It's for a missing person!

Lyria: Hmm... They want us to catch a con man named Ezecrain.

Sierokarte: Let's see... Ah, yes! As I recall, this is a request from the Drang duo.

Sierokarte: Apparently Ezecrain stole something from them.

Vyrn: Seriously... Can't those two just solve their own problems?

Sierokarte: My sentiments exactly! Well then... How about this one? It's a big job I set aside just for situations like this!

The crew agrees to handle the job, which involves stopping a growing number of bandits and destroying their hideout.

Although the crew does not have much to go on, they manage to make their way into the hideout and succeed in cornering the thieves.

Vyrn: Alrighty! That takes care of the weaklings! Now let's tear this place apart.

???: This was none of your concern. Now I have lost any hope of attaining the information I seek.

Vyrn: Are you their buddy or something, wise guy? If so, (Captain) here will totally take you on!

???: Your humor exceeds your wit. There is nothing to be gained from fighting you. Step aside.

Vyrn: Ack! Hey! Wait up, you punk!

Vyrn: Ugh... I can't believe we lost one of 'em.

Vyrn: What was the point in beating all those losers if we let that one get away?

Sierokarte: Hmm... Amethysts on chains and a bejeweled forehead, you say? I'd say that's Ezecrain.

Lyria: What? You mean the con man Drang is looking for?

Sierokarte: That's right! That being said, only people of questionable character speak ill of him.

Vyrn: Huh? What's that supposed to mean?

According to Sierokarte, Ezecrain and his family once lived a happy life under the protection of a powerful amethyst.

But that all ended when a secret organization stole the amethyst and left only deep scars behind.

Sierokarte: So... Ezecrain is searching for the organization that took his family's peace away.

Ezecrain: Sierokarte, rest your tongue. You have already shared far too much.

Vyrn: Whoa! Speak of the devil... It's the chains guy!

Ezecrain: You people again...

Ezecrain: Sierokarte, I've retrieved the stolen valuables, so consider the request complete.

The amethyst chains entwined around Ezecrain suddenly begin moving by themselves.

Vyrn: Hey! What's up with your chains?

Ezecrain: Absurd. Why would my amethysts react to you fools...

Sierokarte: Well, I'll be! Your amethysts always guide you in the right direction, don't they, Ezecrain?

Sierokarte: How about it? I'm sure (Captain)'s crew will prove a highly valuable resource in achieving your goals!

Vyrn: Hey! Don't we have a say in this too!

Sierokarte: You have nothing to worry about! I can vouch for Ezecrain's ability.

Ezecrain: Interesting. I suppose you may have some use to me after all.

Vyrn: Use? How rude!

Ezecrain: The amethysts guide my every move... I will reel in the chains of fate.

Ezecrain: Is this some sort of joke? You call this a ship?

Vyrn: Stop talking and start listening, buster!

With Ezecrain joining the crew's ranks, everyone boards the airship and sets off into the sky.

Will Ezecrain's chains be the key to his salvation?

An Old Map's Temptation

(Captain) and company arrive at the forest on Ezecrain's supposed treasure map. Ezecrain warns them that the lost never escape this forest. Suddenly the crew hears a scream and rushes to help.

Vyrn: Hey, what exactly did you steal from Drang?

Ezecrain: Drang? You must mean that imbecile Erune.

With that, Ezecrain takes out the map he stole and spreads it out in front of the crew.

Vyrn: Could this be... a treasure map?

Ezecrain: Hmm...
Shall we find out?

Lyria: Wow! A real life treasure hunt! This is so exciting! Right, (Captain)?

The crew sets out for the dense forest marked on the map with high hopes.

Vyrn: What's up with this? There's no treasure anywhere!

Ezecrain: I do not recall saying this was a treasure map. So presumptuous...

Vyrn: Then what's the map lead to?

Ezecrain: Unfortunately, this only takes us to a place of historic interest.

Ezecrain: In any event, this map is of little value to us now.

Vyrn: And we came all this way... But wait, isn't this the map Drang had?

Vyrn: Maybe the treasure's hidden deeper in the forest...

Ezecrain: This forest is extremely complex, almost as though it's intended to protect the historic site. No one who gets lost here ever returns.

Vyrn: Then it's a good thing we have the map!

Ezecrain: I don't have time to waste with your little games.

Vyrn: Wait up, Mr. No-Brows!

Monster: Graooh!

???: Aaah! Save me!

Vyrn: Uh-oh! Did you hear that, (Captain)? It came from deep in the forest!

Vyrn: Mr. No-Brows likes to act all mean, but deep down he's a softie.

Vyrn: All right! Let's get a move on it, (Captain)!

An Old Map's Temptation: Scene 2

(Captain) and crew help Drang who is being attacked by monsters. Afterwards, Drang demands Ezecrain return his treasure map, but Ezecrain declares the treasure liberated.

Vyrn: Phew... Was that the last of the monsters?

Drang: Bravo! Just as strong as I remember!

Vyrn: Hey! What are you doing here?

Drang: What a coincidence! I'm so glad you've come to save me! Lady Luck must be on my side today!

Vyrn: You're such a pain. Can't you handle a few monsters on your own?

Drang: What's with the cold shoulder? I thought we were friends?

Vyrn: Whoa there! We're not friends!

Drang: Oh? And who's that with you? Well, if it isn't Ezecrain, the map thief!

Drang: Thanks to the little kindness you did me, I'm utterly and hopelessly lost now.

Ezecrain: Tch... Why do the fools multiply?

Drang: Why don't you give me back my treasure map? I'm sorta stuck here without it.

Ezecrain: Treasure? Unfortunately for you, there is nothing to be found in these ruins.

Drang: What! You've got to be kidding me! What did you do with my spoils?

Ezecrain: Enough with the theatrics. I know you hid the stolen goods...

Ezecrain: But I have already recovered it all. Coming here was effort wasted.

Drang: No way! How could you? Gimme my treasure!

Monster: Grroar!

Lyria: Ahhh! Monsters! They're all around us...

Drang: Eek! Looks like you guys are up! Go get 'em, tigers!

An Old Map's Temptation: Scene 3

Drang uses the map to leave the forest while the crew fights monsters. To escape the labyrinthine woods, Ezecrain is forced to seek guidance from his amethysts.

Vyrn: Whoa! Nice job defeating all those monsters, Browless Wonder!

Lyria: Yeah! You and (Captain) were so awesome!

Lyria: You know, we're pretty deep inside the forest... I wonder where the exit is.

Lyria: Umm... Drang said something about holding onto the map earlier...

Vyrn: I can't believe it! He just took it and ran!

As word of Ezecrain's willingness to recover stolen goods becomes known, requests come flooding in for him. One of them includes information on the group he seeks, and the crew decides to help him.

Lyria: We owe that to Ezecrain!

Ezecrain: Don't ever make me use the amethysts in such a way again!

Ezecrain: I won't be a part of any frivolous adventures again... Do you understand me?

Sierokarte: Hey, guys! I know you haven't had a moment's rest, but...

Sierokarte: There are actually lots of requests being sent to you, Ezecrain!

Lyria: Wow! Look at all these!

Sierokarte: Word's gotten out that you'll retrieve stolen treasure.

Vyrn: I get it! So that's what you did with the treasure you took from Drang!
