Conan Collab Extreme Raid Gold Chest Includes Both SSR Weapons

Seigyoku (talkcontribs)

Hey again, here to provide proof of both weapons being in a gold chest for this event in the Extreme raid. (This is kind of rare to happen, isn't it? Most raid-attached events don't do this, from memory.)

Shoes: Victory Screen | Battle Log Gun: Victory Screen | Battle Log

So far I've yet to get the weapons to pop up in the Very Hard raid, despite running mostly VH with Kaguya support there and rarely running EX with Grimnir support there, so while I'm fairly sure they're there as well, I cannot confirm their presence in VH as of yet.

You don't need to post on my talk page every time you want to make a change, btw. Just provide your proof in your edit comment.

Seigyoku (talkcontribs)

In fact, I did, but now you say, "They are marked unknown for a reason." so I'd like to know what the problem is, since apparently it was not enough for you. As an aside, you should also revert my change at the simplified drop table if this is the case.

I have understood for a while now that drop table changes are much more particularly touchy to address than other aspects of wiki editing, and due to previous conflicts, I thought it would be better to run such significant changes by you first. However, I had also thought in the meantime that you were too busy to address it yourself, so I decided to, as you say, simply provide proof in the edit comment.

Here are two more screens for further proof of the gun's presence, since there still seems to be an issue with it specifically: Victory Screen | Battle Log

Also, the edit comment is woefully short on maximum space, likely for brevity, but it is inconvenient for the reasonable necessity to have an actual discussion due to problems exactly like this. This is why I do come here to talk, as there is no real other outlet for getting in touch directly with an admin such as yourself on the wiki itself aside from your talk page (as far as I currently understand, at least), and I've no interest in Discord so that's not a viable solution either. Maybe there is a need for an all-admin page where people can bring up issues in general if this sort of thing is getting tiresome to upkeep for you, if it doesn't exist yet.

Every single page on the wiki has their own talk page.

Raids_talk:Detective_Conan_Gears_of_Conspiracy_Raid_Extreme

By creating a topic on those instead of my own talk page, you associate your topic directly with what's pertinent to you. Other admins and staff view the talk pages besides just me. They can reply when possible.

As far as the drops go, I made a typo which was supposed to say ev_ssr2 (the gun specifically). It was supposed to show the gun under the Gold chest list, but it didn't because of the typo. It has been fixed.

The Unknown variables are placeholders used for Template:EventHelper. It's used on every event page. You can review that if you want.

looks through everything mentioned

... I see. I'll be sure to make use of these ideas in the future. Thanks for this, and sorry for the trouble - I mentioned once before I consider myself rather inept at wiki editing, so I had a feeling I was missing something very important.

That said, the EventHelper template documentation, while helpful, isn't directly helping me understand how exactly the Unknown variables are working, even with trying to reference #var on MediaWiki documentation. I still feel like I'm missing something due to incompetence, particularly at how the placeholders are showing the actual items despite being marked Unknown (and in that case, why they're still used when it seems like the items can be directly referenced instead, as the names in EventHelper look different than the onces used in the #vars), but I suppose I'll deal with it next time something comes up. That said, I understood enough from this to help out by correcting the typoes in the VH raid as well.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience; have a good time with the rest of the anniversary celebration!

Thanks. And again, please use the appropriate talk page instead of only my own unless it's directly meant for me or some important business related to the wiki. I'm not the only admin/staff here.

Leaving the "Unknown" in the variables are for copy and pasting the template into future pages. We reuse old pages quite often to save time and effort. Hardcoding an item name into #var defeats the purpose of EventHelper being a time saver as we'd have to change those item names back to Unknown anyway for new events. Pages in the Raids namespace are not meant to be linked to directly anyway and never appear as a suggestion in the search bar.
