Happy Holidays! 2020 - The Merriest Moments Are Made Together - Episode 1

Lily, Drusilla, and Erin are decking the halls of the Grandcypher—the annual holiday party draws ever closer.
Erin: Have you all decided what you'll be asking Santa Claus for?
Drusilla: I asked him for cute clothes! Just like yours, Lily!
Lily: Hmm... I still haven't made up my mind.
Alec: Oy! I found some more decorations we can hang!
Alec: Uh... Did I interrupt something?
Drusilla: We were just talking about what we'd be asking Santa for this year!
Lily: Do you know what you're gonna ask Santa for this year?
Alec: I'm not a kid anymore, so I don't do that kind of stuff anymore.
Lily: Wha-what?
Erin: Now, now... There's no need to put on airs here, Alec.
Alec: I-I'm not doing anything of the sort!
Drusilla: You're acting like a real baby if you ask me!
Alec: Grr... Shut up!
Drusilla: Heh, see? Getting all riled up, just like a child!
Erin: Hehe. I suppose kids will be kids no matter where you're from after all.
Lily: Hey, Erin? Is it really true that grown-ups don't get any presents from Santa?
Erin: That's right. Santa Claus only gives presents to good boys and girls.
Lily: Is that right...
Erin: Lily?
Lily: I know what I'm gonna ask Santa for!
Lily: If you write a letter to Santa, he's supposed to read it, right?
Erin: Oh, er... Yes, I believe (Captain) and the others were saying something like that.
Lily: Okay! I'm gonna write my letter to Santa right now!
Erin: Wait, you haven't finished decor—Ah, it's fine... I'll just take care of her portion myself.

Happy Holidays! 2020 - The Merriest Moments Are Made Together - Episode 2

A few days remain before the holiest of nights.
Mirin and Chloe have retreated into a warm kotatsu, keeping themselves busy making wreaths for the holiday party.
Mirin: Gozaru! I've failed again...
Chloe: Oop... Milly with another L ( *´艸`)
Lunalu: Oh, what are you two doing? And... what are you wearing?
Mirin: These are called donbuku. You wear them in the winter to stay warm where I'm from!
Chloe: Totally looks like grannywear, amirite? But put one on for yourself—they're totes toasty. (*‘∀‘)
Lunalu: Hmm... They do look rather cozy.
Mirin: I've got an extra! How about it, Lunalu? Get warm and cozy with us!
Chloe: Yeah, Lunes! We could totes be donbuku triplets together!
Lunalu: I'm fine... But if I find myself in desperate straits, I'll know who to ask.
Mirin: Sure thing! Just let me know whenever you change your mind!
Chloe: Btdubs, Lunes. How's it looking on the party front?
Lunalu: We're all good so far. It looks like someone isn't ready yet, however...
Mirin: Oof... Sorry, I'm slowing everybody down...
Chloe: Hehe, don't sweat it, Milly! Let auntie Chloe teach you everything you need to know... from top to bottom!
Chloe takes Mirin's hands from behind and carefully guides her through the process.
Mirin: Hmm... I think I get it now! Thank you so much, Chloe!
Chloe: YW! I've got your back all the way, sister.
Chloe: But forreals, you're just so ky00t in your donbuku, girl! I could just eat you up!
Mirin: Ch-Chloe... You're squeezing me a little... too... hard...
Lunalu: ...
Chloe: Huh? Something wrong, Lunes?
Lunalu: Oh, uh... It's nothing.
Lunalu: An all-girls work... Of course... The forbidden fruit...
Mirin: Okay... So I just need to do this, and put this through here...
Mirin: I'm finished!
Lunalu: That's great. Hold on... this is...
Mirin: There's no time to waste! I'm off to bring these to the party venue!
Lunalu: Chloe... Mirin didn't exactly make a wreath, did she?
Chloe: Nope lol. But this is way funnier if you ask me, lmao. (*´з`)
Lunalu: I suppose.

Happy Holidays! 2020 - The Merriest Moments Are Made Together - Episode 3

Percival: Hmm... Everything seems to be in order.
The annual holiday party draws ever closer. Percival has been placed in charge of the arrangements this year.
Carmelina: Oh, Percival! I've got something I wanna ask you. Do you have a second?
Percival: How can I help?
Carmelina: You see, Karva and I were thinking of putting on a little show for the big party.
Karva: Give 'em a bit of razzle-dazzle with the chakram mixed with a little bit of gunpowder action... and bang! How's that for a hair-raising holiday?
Percival: Oho... A performance with blades and fire? A fine idea, if you ask me. I'll leave the details to the both of you.
Percival: And on the off chance something goes wrong, you can count on me to make sure everyone stays safe.
Mirin: Percival, Percival! Where should I hang this wreath?
Percival: Hold on a second... Are you sure that's the right kind of wreath?
Mirin: Huh? It's just a regular wreath. Chloe and I made them—
Mirin: Gozaru! This isn't a wreath, it's a kadomatsu!
Percival: ...
Percival: Well... it looks like you put quite an effort into making it, so go ahead and put it by the entrance.
Mirin: Yes, sir!
Percival lets out a good-humored sigh as the samurai-in-training scurries off.
Shortly after, (Captain) appears on the scene to check on their progress.
  1. How's everything going?

Choose: How's everything going?
Percival: Oh, (Captain). Everything's fine for now, more or less.
Percival: We had a few mishaps here and there along the way, but well within my expectations.
Percival: By the way, have you prepared any presents for the children yet?
The question seems to have stricken a sore spot as the captain responds with an awkward smile.
Percival: I see. How about you go into town then?
Percival: I'm sure you'll be able to come up with something if you see what the shops have to offer.
(Captain) is visibly apprehensive upon hearing Percival's suggestion.
Percival: If it's about the party, you have nothing to worry about. Let me take care of everything.

Happy Holidays! 2020 - The Merriest Moments Are Made Together - Episode 4

Sariel: Snow... It's harder to walk in than I imagined. But I can't let that stop me.
Sariel: One, two... One, two...
Halluel's Voice: Yoohoo!
Malluel's Voice: Sarieeel!
Sariel: Huh? Did I just hear my name? Who said that?
Sariel looks to the sky and discovers Halluel and Malluel waving and smiling from above.
Halluel: Long time no see, Sariel.
Sariel: How have you been?
Malluel: What are you doing at a place like this, anyhow? Don't tell me...
Sariel: No... I'm still looking for the rainbow.
Sariel: But I've heard that Santa Claus has a sleigh that traverses the entire skydom.
Malluel: So... you're looking for Santa Claus?
Sariel: That's right. If he would give me a ride on his sleigh, I'm sure I could find a rainbow much faster.
Halluel: That so? Seems we've come at just the right time!
Sariel: Huh?
Malluel: We're actually on our way to deliver a fresh batch of letters to Santa Claus right now.
Sariel: Does that mean you know where Santa Claus lives?
Malluel: Of course! We are the Archangel Parcel Service after all.
Sariel: That makes sense... Could you take me along with you?
Halluel: No need to ask—we've got you covered!
Sariel: Thank you.
Together alongside Halluel and Malluel, Sariel flies into the night in search of Santa Claus.

Happy Holidays! 2020 - The Merriest Moments Are Made Together - Episode 5

Spinnah: Round and round they go... Spin blades—just give 'em a spin, and you'll see why they're in! Mesmerizing, aren't they?
Spinnah has drawn a crowd of young onlookers at the park with his flashy spin blades. Upon noticing (Captain), he waves the captain and the others down.
Spinnah: What do you think, (Captain)? These kids are gonna be spin-crazy soon, I know it.
Spinnah: No doubt about it—spin blades are about to take another island by storm!
Alistair: Well, fads do come and go in cycles. Considering how popular they once were in the past, it's about time they made a comeback.
Spinnah: Oh, uh... Are you interested in spin blades, too? I've got just the—
Carren: Stop! Stooop!
Carren: You can talk about cycles and spinning all you want later, but if we don't swing by the stores soon, they'll close before we can buy any presents!
Alistair: Hehe. I suppose you're right.
Spinnah: Hold your horses. You mentioned presents... you mean for the kids on the Grandcypher, right?
Spinnah: Because in that case, I've already got you covered—spin blades! What more could a kid ask for?
Carren: Oh, I mean... I suppose that's an option. But we really should look into as many options as possible before deciding on something like this...
Carren: I mean, Ms. Suframare also asked us to find something with educational value for the kids as well.
Spinnah: Now that's a thoughtful idea indeed... A beautiful thing, really!
Spinnah: But there's no need to fret! The possibilities of the spin blade are infinite. Surely there's much to learn from them!
Alistair: Hmm... The symmetrical shape, sophisticated design, concentric circles... I suppose they do have some artistic merit in a way.
Spinnah: Precisely! And appreciation for the arts is vital for a balanced education! And not just that, but this also counts as physical education!
Alistair: You know, I actually heard you can use that spin blade of yours to conjure up entire wind storms. Is that true, or—
Carren: Stop! Stooop!
Alistair: What is it now? We were just getting really into it.
Carren: Pre! Sents! Haven't you forgotten what we came here to do in the first place?
Alistair: Oh, right! Sorry, Carren.
Carren: Come on, (Captain)! Don't just stand there!
As (Captain) and the others make their way into town, Spinnah quickly grabs a handful from his pack.
Spinnah: Hold on! Before you go, take these with you!
Carren: Huh? Whoa! Hey, uh, is it really okay for us to take all of these?
Spinnah: Don't mention it. Just a little present from me.
Spinnah: Go on, take one for a spin!

Happy Holidays! 2020 - The Merriest Moments Are Made Together - Episode 6

Deliford: Hmm...
Zehek: Uh...
Two men stand in the middle of a bustling marketplace, fixated on a spinning marvel.
In each of their palms is a brand new spin blade, spinning round and round.
(Captain): ...
Deliford: (Captain)? Don't tell me you've also...
Zehek: Ngh... It looks like we've got more company than expected.
The three of them vacantly stare at their spin blades, unsure of what exactly to do with them.
Deliford: I suppose it is a fine enough product, but...
Zehek: I... cough, hack... don't think I could give something like this... ngh... to Master.
Deliford: You have your doubts as well? I'm sure my wife would be pleased all the same, but to be honest... this might not be the right choice.
Yngwie's Voice: If you're having some trouble with the ladies, how about letting yours truly give a little advice?
Deliford: Ah, good timing, Yngwie. I'm having a bit of trouble deciding on a present for my wife, you see...
Zehek: I've also been debating what to get for my master...
After listening to their woes, Yngwie breaks into a smug smile.
Yngwie: Is that all? Easy.
Yngwie: Here, try this. Imagine the lucky lady... Now, imagine putting your present into their hands.
The Three: ...
Yngwie: Well? How did it go?
Deliford: She, er... doesn't look happy.
Yngwie: Then it is your solemn duty to find whatever it is that will make her smile in your mind. Right?
Deliford: Very true. I appreciate the insight.
Deliford: Giving presents is so much deeper than I imagined...
Zehek: Ngh... Aurgh... The master I'm picturing in my head... She isn't smiling!
Zehek: Pant, pant... My head's starting to... hurt... from overthinking...
Zehek: Ugh... Graaaugh!

Happy Holidays! 2020 - The Merriest Moments Are Made Together - Episode 7

The night before the holiday party has finally come. Two men have taken a respite from the wintry cold to share a drink at the nearby pub.
Siegfried: I must say, it certainly was refreshing to see a more lighthearted side of the holy knights.
Baotorda: Ah, er, well... How should I put this... I'm aware it's not the type of thing we usually do, but...
Baotorda: The children! You know how it is. It's so hard for us to say no to their puppy-dog eyes, isn't it?
Siegfried: They say as a man gets older, he becomes more set in his ways. However, I personally found the performance to be quite refreshing.
Baotorda: Yes, well... in the end, the feeling of joy triumphed over any embarrassment I felt.
Baotorda: Not only that, but it was a fantastic opportunity for us to connect with the children and get to know them better.
Baotorda: Speaking of which, (Captain) is rather young, but a dependable captain nonetheless.
Siegfried: Yes. I look forward to seeing just what kind of adult our young captain will grow up to be someday.
Siegfried: I suppose it's our duty to watch over the next generation and ensure that they have what they need to thrive.
The two knights continue to talk while taking in the merry atmosphere around them when the doors suddenly burst open.
Richard: Ngh... M-my good man! A drink, on the double! Give me something hard!
Siegfried: What's gotten into you? Did you get attacked by dogs again?
Richard: What? Oh, no... It's just that, well, I feel as if I'm going to die from embarrassment any second now.
Richard: Sigh... It wasn't supposed to be like this. You see, I asked Therese on a date, and well... Ngh...
Siegfried: Hmm... If you're having romance issues, I'm not sure how much I can help. But I'll be happy to listen.
Baotorda: Richard... I admit I may be out of touch with the latest trends, but... is this the type of clothing people wear on dates now?
Richard: I knew it... It's totally lame, isn't it? My so-called buddies at the casino played me like a damn fiddle!
Siegfried: Well, you still have some time until the holiday party tomorrow. Hopefully, by then you'll have found yourself a new outfit.
Baotorda: Fortunately for you, we have enough time and plenty of drinks left for you to contemplate over.
Richard: Haha, so this is what true camaraderie feels like... Cheers! I'll drink to that, brothers!
Yngwie's Voice: Glasses high, everyone! À votre santé!
Richard: Do my ears deceive me? Yngwie... is that you?
Richard scans the pub and finds Yngwie at a table surrounded by women.
Yngwie: 'Tis the season to be merry, after all—we're pulling out all the stops tonight!
Yngwie: Let's paint the town red until morning!
Richard: Sigh... Look at Yngwie. He's got all of them in the palm of his hand! I swear... if I just had an eighth of his swagger!
Siegfried: I'm glad to see you're in high spirits again, but have you already forgotten about your arrangement with Therese?
Baotorda: Indeed. I don't mean to overstep my bounds, but yearning for more women isn't going to do you any favors with her.
Richard: H-hey now! I thought we were brothers here!

Happy Holidays! 2020 - The Merriest Moments Are Made Together - Episode 8

Lady Grey: Hmm... Looks like the sponge cake is just about finished.
Lady Grey: Let's see... Everything else may require a little more time.
Anthuria: In that case, shall we move on to decorating the parts that are ready?
Aster: Roger that, ma'am!
Lady Grey: Excellent. Then could you start with everything over there? I'll need to keep my eyes on the cake.
Yuisis: We'll take care of it, good luck.
Aster: All done!
Lady Grey: Oh, finished already? I see this isn't your first time, is it? Hehe, you even have some cream on your face. Here.
Lady Grey wipes the cream off Aster's cheek with her finger.
Aster: Oh... Thank you.
Lady Grey: Don't mention it. The fact you didn't notice just shows me how focused you were.
Lady Grey: Oh, Anthuria? Aster's not the only one with cream on her face.
Anthuria: Wait, really?
Mortified, Anthuria puts her hand to her cheek.
Yuisis: Hehe, wrong side!
Yuisis smiles mischievously and wipes the cream from Anthuria's face herself before putting it in her own mouth.
Anthuria: Y-Yuisis? What are you—that was just on my face...
Yuisis: Oh, er, sorry. Back in the day some of the other girls in the family did the same thing to me. Couldn't help myself, you know?
Anthuria: O-oh, is that so? I-I guess old habits die hard, huh?
Aster: Um, Anthuria? Your face is glowing red... Are you okay?
Anthuria: Ngh... Don't worry about it...
Lady Grey: Hehe. Anthuria just gets flustered easily, doesn't she?
Anthuria: Ugh... I mean, I can't help it after that...
Yuisis: Think nothing of it—we're crewmates, after all. That means we're family.
Anthuria: Family or not, embarrassing things are still embarrassing! Ngh...

Happy Holidays! 2020 - The Merriest Moments Are Made Together - Episode 9

The day of the holiday party has finally come.
Lady Grey: And here's another helping. There's plenty left, so everyone make sure to eat your fill, okay?
Alec: Let's dig in!
Yuisis: Is this... a kadomatsu?
Mirin: Oh, um... my wreath just sort of ended up looking like that.
Yuisis: Hehe. Well, you've certainly put your own personal twist on it.
Karva: Heya, Percy! Is it seriously okay for us to go all out?
Percival: Of course. Go wild.
Karva: Yes, sir!
A crowd has begun to form in the venue as excitement brews for a surprise performance.
Carmelina: There you are, (Captain)! Karva and I were about to put on a little... show of sorts. Care to join us on stage for some thrills?
Guessing what kind of thrills may be involved in their show, the captain graciously declines their offer.
Carmelina: Aw, that's too bad. Well, make sure to check us out later. You won't want to miss this one!
Anthuria: Oh, (Captain)! Perfect timing.
Anthuria: I was just thinking, um, after the party... maybe we could...
Aster's Voice: Anthuriaaa! Sorry, but we really need you to help us bring in the cake!
Anthuria: Oh... Sorry, (Captain)! It looks like they still need my help in the kitchen.
Anthuria: Ngh... Another perfectly good chance ruined...
Erin: It looks like everyone's thoroughly enjoying themselves this year as well.
Lily: Yeah! Everyone's having lots of fun!
Erin: They sure are...
  1. Are you not having fun, Erin?

Choose: Are you not having fun, Erin?
Erin: Oh! Sorry, I didn't mean it like that.
Erin: I was just thinking how lovely it'd be if we could see Santa... or his reindeer.
Lily: Do you like animals, Erin?
Erin: I sure do. By the way, Lily, what did you end up asking Santa for?
Erin: You said you were going to write him a letter if I'm not mistaken.
Lily: Ehehe... Do you wanna know?
Lily: Wait, is that... It's Santa Claus!
There's no mistaking those jingling bells—Santa Claus has arrived once again.
Beaming, Lily makes a beeline for the Grandcypher deck in her excitement for the jolly man in red.
Erin: Lily, wait! Oh, geez...
Perhaps it's the spirit of the season, but Erin and (Captain) can't help but smile—it really is the most wonderful time of the year.

Happy Holidays! 2020 - The Merriest Moments Are Made Together - Episode 10

Lily: Santa!
Santa Claus: Ho, ho, ho! Have you children been nice this year?
The jolly man steps onto the Grandcypher deck, greeting (Captain) with a familiar smile.
Santa Claus: Now then, I do think it's time I brought you your presents.
Santa Claus: Say, Sariel! Do you think you can lend a hand?
Vyrn: Wait... Sariel?
Carrying a massive bag on his shoulders, surely full of presents, Sariel steps off Santa's sled.
Sariel: Oh... Hello, everyone. Um... season's greetings.
Vyrn: What the heck's goin' on here? Are you one of Santa's little helpers now?
Sariel: Well, this is the least I could do after he gave me a ride on his sleigh.
Vyrn: Huh.
Sariel: Here, your presents.
Aster: Thanks, Sariel! Thanks, Santa!
Sariel: You're welcome.
Santa Claus: Here you are! One for you, (Captain), and one for you, Erin.
Erin: Wait... For me? There must've been a mistake. I'm no longer a child.
Erin finds herself at a loss for words. (Captain) looks just as confused about the situation.
Santa Claus: Ho, ho, ho! Santa doesn't make mistakes, ma'am. This is all yours.
Santa Claus: Isn't that right, Lily?
Lily: Yeah! Santa's always right!
Santa Claus: The truth is, I received a letter from dear Lily here.
Santa Claus: She asked if I could bring presents not only for the children, but the grown-ups too!
Erin: Lily...
Lily: Ehehe... That way everyone can be happy!
(Captain) gently pats Lily on the head—her generous spirit truly embodies the reason for the season.

Happy Holidays! 2021 - Homespun Winter Concert - Episode 1

As the holidays draw near, the joyous melody of instruments rings out from a room on the Grandcypher.
Cecile: Phew, what a wild ride that was. It was such a cool idea that I found myself getting a lot more hyped than usual.
Pamela: I was pretty nervous since I don't have much experience with ad-lib concerts. I hope I didn't ruin it...
Arriet: No, no, you did great! And thanks for taking the lead—it calmed us down just enough to play!
Elta: And I couldn't be happier to perform with such a talented group. It was a dream come true!
Selfira: It was a great learning experience in addition to being immensely enjoyable. Thank you for having me.
The five musicians gleefully exchange their thoughts on the impromptu performance.
???: ...
Selfira: Huh? Is someone there?
???: Ah...
Hearing Selfira's voice, a girl bashfully pokes her head out of the door.
Sara: Sorry... It was such a wonderful tune that I couldn't help but be drawn to it...
Elta: There's no need to hide. You must be tired from standing the whole time. Come have a seat with us.
Sara: Wouldn't I get in the way of your practice?
Cecile: Practice?
Sara: Um... I thought you were practicing for an upcoming concert...
Arriet: Oh, what we did just now was for fun. To see how well we'd do on the spot.
Sara: J-just for fun? But that was so good... Musicians are really amazing.
Arriet: Ehehe, now you're making me blush.
Arriet: "An upcoming concert," eh... Why don't we actually have one? I mean, you're all off for the holidays anyway, right?
Selfira: I love the idea! Inviting everyone in the crew will make it that much more exciting!
Pamela: For everything that (Captain)'s done for us, I would love to take this opportunity to thank the captain by way of our music.
Sara: ...
Elta: Huh? Everything okay, Sara?
Sara: Um... I just think it's really nice to be able to play an instrument...
Sara: I don't have any skills myself that could be used as a present for someone...
Arriet: Why don't you join us for the concert then, Sara?
Sara: Wha...
Sara: B-but I've never even touched an instrument...
Arriet: Not a problem; a bit of practice can do wonders. And I'd be more than happy to lend you my lyre and help you get better.
Sara: With the holy night coming so soon though, I'm afraid I'd just get in everyone's way...
Elta: (She's holding back... Well, I suppose that's a given considering how Cecile and Pamela run with a pretty famous group.)
Elta: (Though it'd be a shame for her to miss this chance...)
Elta: Sara, do you like instruments and music in general?
Sara: Ah... Mm-hm! Very much so...
Sara: Hearing your performance right now brought me such joy that I wish I could do the same...
Elta: Hahah... I'm happy to know my music has that effect on people!
Sara: I wish I could show my appreciation for Volenna, (Captain), Lyria, and everyone else in a similar manner...
Elta: I have an idea, Sara. Can you accompany me for a bit?
Sara: Um, o-okay! If you'll have me...
Selfira: ...?

Happy Holidays! 2021 - Homespun Winter Concert - Episode 2

Lyria: Huh? An empty metal box?
Elta: That's right. Can't make what I need without one.
Selfira: What are you making, Elta?
Elta: Whoops, sorry! I can't believe I forgot to tell you.
Elta: You see, I spent my childhood at an orphanage...
Elta: Back in the day, we'd make our own instruments for performances—things like castanets, kalimbas, and so on.
Selfira: Ah, I see what you mean. Those types of instruments are easier to use for beginners.
Elta: Yes! And I want Sara's first experience with an instrument to be an enjoyable one.
Sara: Erm, you don't have to...
Lyria: Hahah, playing music with a handmade instrument sounds like so much fun!
Lyria: Hm... I think I know someone who can help!
Mahira: Materials to craft an instrument? Well, I have some leftover parts from making machines. Would that do?
Elta: Wow... You have materials of all shapes and sizes! Is it really okay for me to have some of this?
Mahira: It's just scrap to me now. Take as much as you need.
Elta: Thank you so much! I think we can make something out of what's here. Let's do this together, Sara!
Sara: Okay! I'm not sure if I'll do a good job though...
Mahira: Hm, if you're not used to this sort of work, fastening or cutting the metal can be a bit tough.
Mahira: But I'm willing to help.
Elta: That is so kind of you! I know the steps to crafting an instrument, but I wasn't too confident with processing the material.
Lyria: Um, Elta... Is it okay if I join in on the concert too?
Lyria: This sounds like too much fun to pass up.
Elta: Of course it's okay! Maybe we can get even more people to perform with us, and then we'll make all their instruments en masse!
Lyria: Hooray! Why don't you join us too, Mahira? Especially since you're regularly beating on that drum anyway.
Mahira: Sure, I suppose I can help with percussion.
Selfira: Haha, we're off to a great start! What say we recruit everyone who's interested first before making the instruments?
Sara: Okay! I hope we get lots of people to join...

Happy Holidays! 2021 - Homespun Winter Concert - Episode 3

Narmaya: This goes in here, and...
Romeo: Whew... Handiwork is a lot harder than it looks.
Keehar: Ha-ha-ha! Handling this needle reminds me of the time I sewed a plushie for Selfira.
Volenna: Juliet, will this do?
Juliet: Wow, that's beautiful work! You can put the finished animal appliques in this basket.
On the following day, Juliet and company are making holiday decorations.
  1. How's my applique look?

Choose: How's my applique look?
Juliet: Just lovely! Try making a tree applique next.
Romeo: How I wish I had your skill in handicraft, Juliet. Oh, looks like we're out of reindeer horns.
Juliet: How unfortunate. I'll take that. You can start a new one.
Romeo: Sorry. I'll make the next one better.
Meanwhile, excitement seems to be bubbling up in the room next door.
Vyrn: Huh? Wonder what the commotion's about.
Volenna: That voice... Sounds like Sara's there.
Narmaya: I heard Fif too. They must all be playing together.
Vyrn: Well, if it ain't Hanged Man. You were next door too?
The Hanged Man: Nuh-uh, I only passed by. Didn't enter.
The Hanged Man: I wanted to check in on Caim, but he told me to go away.
Volenna: Why would you be shooed away?
The Hanged Man: My guess is they want to keep something secret.
Narmaya: Fif is in there too, right? Hm, now I'm curious about this secret.
The Hanged Man: If she's someone you're close to, then I'd stay out of it. You'd probably get shooed off like me.
The Hanged Man: Since Lyria's in there, not even (Captain)'s allowed inside.
Narmaya: Oh? What a shame...
Juliet: How about I go take a look? I may not look it, but I have experience going undercover!
Romeo: There's a good chance they'd let you in. Think you're up to it?
Juliet: Haha, leave it to me! I'll show you just how good of a spy I can be!
Juliet: And before I go, this is for you, (Captain)!
Juliet: I tweaked the reindeer Romeo was making earlier to resemble Vyrn. Hope you like it!

Happy Holidays! 2021 - Homespun Winter Concert - Episode 4

Caim: I made all the logs the same size as the sample you showed me!
Selfira: Nicely done! While you're waiting, why not make some decorations with the colored paper?
Fif: Look, look! I smoothened all the bumpy parts on the iron plates!
Elta: Wow, done like a real pro! Mahira, can you open up holes in these?
Mahira: Sure thing.
Having joined the performance group by Sara's invitation, Caim and Fif are helping with the work in Mahira's room.
Under Elta's guidance, the children now know how to use scissors, hammers, and more to prep the materials for creating instruments.
Sara: Elta, I finished fastening the screws.
Elta: Mm-hm, looks good to me! Now try making some noise with it. Pluck it with your finger here.
Sara: Um... Like this?
Sara plucks on the newly attached thin metal plate, generating a soft string-like sound.
Sara: Oh my gosh! It worked!
Elta: It sure does! Now to adjust the sound. I'll tell when it sounds right; I just need you to adjust the position you fasten the screw in.
???: Hello there. Mind if I come in?
Mahira: Juliet? Not at all, feel free to join us inside.
Juliet: I thought I'd come check things out when I heard all your happy voices! What's everyone doing?
Caim: We're making instruments!
Fif: They're for the concert! It'll be a chance for me thank Narmaya for being so good to me!
Caim: And I'll be inviting Hanged Man to the concert! That's why I didn't want him in here and figuring out our surprise!
Juliet: A concert with handmade instruments? What a wonderful idea!
Fif: I wanted to invite Grampy too, but he's training in the mountains right now! I'll have to show him some other time!
Caim: How about you, miss? Do you have anyone important to you that you'd like to thank?
Juliet: Me? Um, well...
Juliet: I certainly do.
Caim: Then you should join us, miss! It's going to be so much fun!
Juliet: (I certainly wasn't expecting an invite! Now... a good spy would take him up on the offer...)
Juliet: Sure, count me in!
Fif: Hooray! Let's get to making your instrument right away!
???: ...
Meanwhile, a girl peeks in from the door that Juliet had forgotten to close.
???: (A concert to give thanks to someone dear to you...)
Kou: You? What are you doing here?
You: K-Kou! I'm definitely not doing anything fishy!
You: I just remembered it's our turn to clean today, so I'm gonna go ahead!
Kou: ...?

Happy Holidays! 2021 - Homespun Winter Concert - Episode 5

Pamela: Hold the flute like this... Try blowing gently into it like you were doing with the head joint earlier.
Sara: So I put my fingers here, and...
Sara: I-it worked! I can play music!
Pamela: Haha, you have some real talent, Sara. Most people have trouble getting sound out on their first try because they blow too hard.
Sara: Oh, really?
Pamela: I was like that at first too. But it looks like you're getting the hang of it already.
While the instrument creation continues, the children interested in more standard instruments are getting a hands-on lesson from Pamela and Cecile.
Fif: Hey, is that a real trumpet? Can I try playing it?
Cecile: Hm... I don't mind, but do you have a full set of front teeth?
Fif: Huh? Front teeth? My children teeth came out not too long ago! See?
Cecile: I'm sorry to say this, but you need your front teeth to play the trumpet.
Cecile: Maybe I can teach you when you're a bit older...
Fif: Aww! I wish I had teeth!
Fif: Sniff... Okay then...
Arriet: Fif, come over here! You can play with my lyre!
Fif: Would that be okay? Yay! Thank you, Arriet!
Fif: Ahaha! What a beautiful sound! I feel like Niyon now!
Cecile: (Phew... That was a close one. It sure is nostalgic though. I wonder if I was like that too as a kid.)
Cecile: (I remember someone making a toy trumpet for me before I took it up as my instrument of choice. How'd they make it though?)
Caim: Do you think I'd be able to play the trumpet?
Cecile: Sure, I think you've got a shot at it. Just know that it takes some getting used to for beginners.
Caim: That's fine! Do I hold it like this?
Cecile: Hm... It can be a bit heavy, so why don't you start with just blowing into the mouthpiece?
Caim: Foo, foo... Huh? There's no sound.
Cecile: Position your lips like this. You want to soften them up while blowing harder.
Caim: Fshooo... Fwooo!
Caim: Ah!
Cecile: So far so good. I'm going to connect the mouthpiece to the trumpet now.
Caim: Wow! Did you hear that!
Cecile: Haha... Nice job. Hold onto the incredible sense of accomplishment you just felt.
Cecile: Now I'd like you to continue practicing that until it becomes second nature.
Caim: Okay! Here I go!
Juliet: From what I could gather, the children are planning on holding a concert!
Romeo: A concert, huh? That explains all the noise.
Kou: I was also wondering what they were up to. Can't wait for the main event!
Juliet: I'll continue looking into what kind of a performance it'll be exactly!
Romeo: You intend on staying undercover?
Juliet: Of course! I've come this far, and now I have to see it through to the end.
Romeo: Haha, I hope you have a good time of it at least.
You: (A concert... Instruments...)
You: (How nice... If I could play one too... Maybe I could express my feelings to Kou...)

Happy Holidays! 2021 - Homespun Winter Concert - Episode 6

Selfira: I wasn't sure if this would work out, but things are going great so far.
Elta: Thanks for coming to me about it in the first place, Selfira!
Selfira: Nuh-uh, I'm the one who should be saying thanks. Anyhow, I love seeing everyone having so much fun.
Elta: This'll be the perfect opportunity to show them what a fantastic thing music can be.
Selfira: That's for sure!
Selfira: Which reminds me—I wanted to ask you about the percussion part.
Selfira holds up her instrument and plays a small segment of a song on their program.
You: Holy... That was something else...
Selfira: I'm not sure what kind of sound would go best for this segment. Do you have any ideas?
Elta: Hm... Maybe we could add a tambourine roll and...
You: ...!
Oh no!
Elta: Huh? Isn't that You over there?
You: Erm... Sorry for intruding. I just happened to pass by, wasn't trying to sneak a peek...
Selfira: ...
Selfira: Would you like to try your hand at an instrument?
You: M-me? No way, I'd probably just end up breaking it!
Selfira: It's okay—instruments are built sturdier than that. Come on over.
You: Okay...
Selfira pits her violin against You's left shoulder while placing the bow's grip in her right hand.
Selfira: This particular instrument is meant for grown-ups, so I'll play it with you. Support the violin's body with your left hand, and gently brush the bow hair against the strings.
You: Gently... brush against the strings...
You: Wow... I did it! Did you see that? I can't believe I just played music!
Selfira: Haha, not bad! Now try sliding the bow up and down. I'll change the pitch of the sound as you do that.
You: Up and down... Like this?
Selfira adjusts her finger positioning on the instrument's neck, careful to match You's movements with the bow.
Kou: Huh? Is that You in there?
Keehar: Oho! Seems like my Selfira's teaching the little miss to play an instrument!
Kou: I hope You's not getting in the way of her practice...
Keehar: Ha-ha-ha! Worry not! Selfira once taught the children of the village how to play instruments!
Keehar: By the good graces of her parents and her grandmother, she's quite the instructor if you ask me!
Keehar: Selfira had a bashful side to her when she was little, but she's really come out of her shell since then.
Keehar: Ah, the memories. It's as if she matured in the blink of an eye!
Kou: You's changed quite a lot too ever since joining the crew.
Kou: Up until recently, we had to do everything together...
Kou: Haha, but now she's able to take on new challenges by herself.
Keehar: It may be better to tuck away that tinge of loneliness in your heart and watch her growth from afar.
Kou: You're right. I'm really happy to see You coming into her own.
You: It's too good to be true... I played an instrument...
Selfira: Haha. Considering your talent in dancing, I wouldn't be surprised if you already have a decent grasp on rhythm and pitch. Because that was way too good for a first-timer.
You: Wow... Hehe, this music thing is pretty fun!
Elta: I'm glad to hear you say that!
Elta: How would you like to join us at the concert?
You: W-would that really be okay?
Elta: It sure would! We can discuss the details tomorrow.
You: I still can't believe it! It's like a dream come true!

Happy Holidays! 2021 - Homespun Winter Concert - Episode 8

The day before the holy night, all are hard at work preparing the venue for the party.
Pamela: Can someone tall help me put up these appliques on the wall? There's still plenty more to go around!
Narmaya: This is where the holiday tree goes, right? Can I leave the decorations to you guys?
Caim: Mm-hm! I can handle that!
The Hanged Man: Let me know when you're putting up the star. I'll hold you up.
Fif: I wanna help too! I love putting up shiny, sparkly things!
Cecile: Precooking for all the food is done. We'll just need to reheat everything tomorrow.
Kou: Hehe, we're lucky that Cecile is good at so much of this.
As each member goes about their assigned duties, preparations are finished before long.
Vyrn: All that's left is to wait for the party to start!
Arriet: We've done everything else. I guess this would be a good time...
Arriet gives a knowing glance to those involved with the holiday concert, who then approach those dear to them.
Volenna: Huh? What is it, Sara?
Sara: Um, well... I'd like you to have this!
Volenna: An invitation to a concert?
Sara: We'll be performing tomorrow at the room next door.
Sara: I wanted to thank you for sticking with me all this time. This concert will be my way of showing it... Will you come?
Volenna: Of course, Sara. I'll be listening to every note you play.
Fif: Here you go, Narmaya! I'm gonna do my best, so be sure to come watch me at the concert!
Narmaya: Aw, what a cute invitation! Thank you, I'll be there for sure.
Caim, You, and Juliet do the same with their invitations.
The Hanged Man: Now I know why you wanted me out of the room before, Caim. Heh, I'm looking forward to this.
Kou: You can bet I'll be cheering you on, You. Good luck up there.
Romeo: (I already figured Juliet would be performing, but no point ruining the moment now.)
Lyria: Um, Vyrn, (Captain)! I'll be onstage too!
Lyria: I practiced a lot for this concert! Here's your invitation!
  1. Thanks!

Choose: Thanks!
(Captain) accepts the invite with a bashful smile.

Happy Holidays! 2021 - Homespun Winter Concert - Episode 9

It is the day of the performance.
Arriet: Thanks for gathering today, everyone! Please enjoy the concert to the very end!
At Arriet's signal, the performers bow in unison and ready their instruments.
Arriet: One, two, three... Now!
The concert begins with six members playing in sync, putting their graceful coordination on display.
Selfira takes the lead with an airy, inspirational melody. Pamela's flute serves as the perfect accompaniment to it.
Cecile's high notes ring out as if celebrating holiday cheer, with Arriet's glissando accentuating the mood.
Elta's low sounds and Mahira's drums bring it all together with a sense of rhythm.
Keehar: Ha-ha-ha! I'm loving it already!
Narmaya: Me too! Fif and the other children are so cute with their instruments!
Sara's kalimba provides Selfira's cantus with a soft, velvety harmony.
Juliet, Caim, and You tap their castanet, guiro, tambourine respectively while moving with grace.
Lyria, who is meant to play the wind chime only at one very special part, claps her hands throughout the show.
Prancing about in front of the percussion group is Fif, blowing her trumpet in a freeform style.
Volenna: You can hardly tell that they have so many beginners... I'm sure practicing helped, but...
Volenna: More than that is the skill of the ones who put this score together. They're the real pros.
Kou: They're having some much fun performing that just watching them is a joy!
Sara: (Um... After this is...)
Juliet: (It's supposed to get faster from here... I'll do it just like we practiced.)
Caim: (Now's my chance to shine! You can do this, Caim!)
The tension is palpable as the music reaches a crescendo.
Performers: ...!
Performers: ...!
You: (Now to finish off with that finger roll I practiced so hard on!)
Lyria: (The twinkly sound of the wind chime should leave a lasting impression!)
The excitement reaches a fever pitch as the music comes to a stop, welcoming in a thunderous round of applause and cheers.
Romeo: Bravo! That was fantastic!
The Hanged Man: Not bad at all.
Performers: ...!
Sara: Huh? Mahira?
Mahira continues beating her drums amid the high praise.
Mahira: Ehehe, this has been eggs-traordinary.
Mahira: The main song's over, but how about an encore to top things off?
Arriet: Sounds good to me! I'm going to play some simple tunes, and everyone else can follow along!
As Arriet starts up another melody, the other veterans quickly follow suit.
The beginner musicians exchange knowing glances and join in too in their own way.
Cecile: You in the audience—we need you too! Clap with us! Sing along if you'd like! Let's make this a holiday to remember!
Vyrn: Hahah! This is one heck of a show, huh! Let's go to the front, (Captain)!
Gran is the Main Character

(Captain) joins the rest of the crowd in clapping and cheering on the performers.
Djeeta is the Main Character

(Captain) joins the rest of the crowd in clapping and cheering on the performers.
The energy in the room remains high for the remainder of the concert.

Happy Holidays! 2021 - Homespun Winter Concert - Episode 10

On the day after the concert, the Grandcypher is still bustling with activity.
Sara: Volenna... Are you the one who left this plushie by my pillow?
Volenna: Yes, it's my holiday present to you. Consider it my thanks for putting on that wonderful concert last night.
Volenna: And thanks for continuing to travel with me, Sara.
Sara: Nuh-uh, I'm the one who's grateful! I couldn't be happier to have you by my side, Volenna!
Fif: Thank you, Narmaya! This candy's so shiny, sparkly, and pretty!
Narmaya: I'm glad you like it! Consider it a present from Narmaya Santa!
Caim: This block toy set is from you, right, Hanged Man? Thanks!
The Hanged Man: You did a great job yesterday and weren't the least bit naughty. You couldn't be more deserving of a present.
Elta: Haha, everyone's in high spirits!
Selfira: The children who joined us yesterday wanted to give out their own presents...
Selfira: But it's not the same without the smiles of children happily opening up their presents!
Keehar: Ha-ha-ha! For sure! I have a present for you two as well!
Selfira: These are... gloves?
Selfira: Thank you, Grandad! I'm sure they'll come in handy!
Elta: Um, Keehar. Are you sure you want to give me a pair too?
Keehar: Absolutely! You both use your fingers a lot, and I want you to take good care of them!
Kou: You, I have a present for you. Thanks for sticking by me all the time.
You: S-something for me? Wait a second... Isn't this... pink lip cream?
You: This is perfect—I was just thinking of getting some for myself! Thank you for being with me, Kou!
Juliet: "Your clear blue eyes sung to me as you performed with all the rhythm of a foxtrot. Spellbound by your beautiful..."
Romeo: Wait, Juliet! It's kind of embarrassing to have that read aloud...
Juliet: Well, you watched me practicing when it was supposed to be a secret! Consider this payback!
Romeo: Haha, sorry about that. You're so beautiful when you're focused on something that I couldn't help but make something poetic out of it.
Lyria: Teehee, looks like everyone who came to the concert had presents prepared!
  1. I got you something too, Lyria.

Choose: I got you something too, Lyria.
Lyria: H-how sweet of you...
Lyria: Wow! A sky blue floral hairpin! It's beautiful!
  1. Thanks for always being with me.

Choose: Thanks for always being with me.
Lyria: Ehehe, likewise. I'm so lucky to have you and Vyrn by my side.
Arriet: We're about to start the party, everyone!
Fif: Okey-doke! Ahaha! There's cream on your mouth! Were you snacking just now?
Arriet: Oh no... I was only taste testing!
Lyria: Teehee, I'm getting hungry too! Let's go, (Captain)!
Smiles abound on the Grandcypher's deck as heartfelt words of gratitude are exchanged.
Treasuring the peaceful moments they're able to share together, the crew go on to enjoy their holiday feast next.

Happy Holidays! 2022 - Reclaiming the Winter Night - Episode 1

Here begins a curious tale revolving around the classic tradition of holiday gift-giving.
It is a normal evening, days after the joyous holy night.
Clad in festive new garments, Europa, Catura, Cain, and Fiorito are basking in the lingering holiday spirit with the crew.
However, an unexpected knock on the door suggests an end to the peaceful respite.
Europa: Who could it be this late into the night?
Child 1: Umm! Could you maybe host a party for us?
Catura: A party?
Fiorito: It's just you kids? Let's talk inside.
Catura: Would you like some... delicious hot milk? It comes straight from the Ox Temple's ranch.
Through surprised at the children's sudden request, the crew warmly invites them inside.
Lyria: Now that you've calmed down a bit, can you tell us about this party you mentioned?
Child 1: Right... We live in the orphanage, and every year we get together to hold a holiday party.
Child 2: We're not exactly well-off and it's a pretty small place, but we still have so much fun at the party...
Child 1: Santa didn't come this year though, and everyone's kind of bummed out...
Lyria: Strange... Santa's supposed to visit all the good children for the holidays...
Child 2: The director of the orphanage said she'd hold another party for us to give Santa another chance to visit.
Child 1: But to earn enough money for another party, she got a second job elsewhere and collapsed from overwork.
Child 2: She handed us the money, then told us to go find someone who can host the party in her stead...
Child 1: Since you're the skyfarer crew with the greatest reputation around these parts, we thought we'd ask... Won't you please help us?
  1. No need to pay us.
  2. I appreciate the offer, but...

Choose: No need to pay us.
Europa: Yes, please use the hard-earned money for yourselves at the orphanage.
Cain: It's only right for us to help children out as proper adults—not just because we're a crew or for any reward.

Choose: I appreciate the offer, but...
Child 1: I suppose it was a rather sudden request...
(Captain) and Catura offer headpats to the downcast children.
Catura: Relax. (Captain)'s saying that we'll take on the job, even if we won't take your money.
Fiorito: Sounds fun. We'd be missing out not to give you kids a hand!
Continue 1
Child 2: Thank you so much! I realize it's a selfish request, but...
Fiorito: Aw, what a sweet kid! Don't worry though— there's nothing selfish about what you're asking for.
Europa: Shall we begin with preparations then? Let us make this party a shining spectacle to remember.
Fiorito: Sounds good to me! I'm gonna go grab a few crew members.
Catura: Any good party is going to need plenty of cake and warm drinks.
Fiorito: So we'll need a patissier and... maybe someone who can put on a show.
Fiorito: Maybe I can use this chance to show off Rosa. After all, I don't spend all my time polishing her for nothing!
Trading glances with Lyria and Vyrn, (Captain) enlists the aid of crew members who would be perfect for setting up a party.
Still, the crew is unsure what to make of Santa's lack of presence this holiday season.

Happy Holidays! 2022 - Reclaiming the Winter Night - Episode 2

Ulamnuran: Step right up! For the skies' greatest performer, Ulamnuran, stands before you!
Carmelina: C'mon, guys, flash your smiles! Peace!
Spinnah: Hahah! Nothing like the beautiful revolution of a spin blade to liven things up.
Pengy: Peggy pen pen pegu! Keep those eyes wide open—you won't want to miss a second of this!
Hallessena: Um, why am I here again?
Hallessena: Uh, I mean... I'm here to make sure things go crazy to the max!
Children: Wow...
Spinnah: It's all right to keep your expectations high, 'cause you won't find a more awesome party anywhere else in the skies.
Spinnah: One look at me and my fellow performers should make that crystal clear.
Ulamnuran: Behold as Carmelina and I juggle away on a rolling ball!
Carmelina: And now I'm juggling through my Moon Halo—pokey on the inside and stabby on the outside! How about that!
Child 2: I can't believe it! They're so good at this!
Pengy: Pengy Alert, Pengy Alert! Come on, Halley! Bring it on!
Now presenting as Pengnormous Pengy, she beckons Hallessena over with her giant hand.
Hallessena: Wait, we're doing this for real? All right then...
Hallessena: Hi-yaaaah!
Child 2: Omigosh, that looks dangerous...
Pengy: Phew, that crazy emergency side step was way too close for my own good! Peguuu!
Child 1: Man, that is so cool!
Carmelina: Phew, what an out-of-body experience that must be for Pengy! We ought to try it sometime, Ulam!
Ulamnuran: I'm not sure I'd wanna put my life in danger!
Child 2: Haha... So these amazing people are all (Captain)'s friends, huh?
Lyria: Mm-hm! I'm sure they'll be perfect for livening things up!
Hallessena: Um... I'm not sure I fit in with you guys...
Pengy: Peggy? What makes you think that!
Hallessena: You're super popular among the kids, Pengy, but me? I don't exactly have any tricks up my sleeve.
Lyria: Well... I thought maybe you two could help set up the stage!
Lyria: There are devices to operate, and you could also help hype up the audience like you did just now!
Vyrn: You two seem really handy, so I thought it'd be perfect. Not to mention the children love you.
Pengy: Pegu pegu! Hallessena and I have got this in the bag! We'll give it our best!
Hallessena: Ehehe... If Pengy's giving me this much credit, then I'll do what I can!
Hallessena: And speaking of hyping up the audience, I'd like to rope in someone who can pull that off with aplomb.
Spinnah: Anyone up to the task is always welcome. Wanna tell us who it is?
Hallessena: It might be faster for you to meet this mystery person. I believe they're outside right now.
With a smile, Hallessena guides the crew to a certain place.

Happy Holidays! 2022 - Reclaiming the Winter Night - Episode 3

Hallessena brings (Captain) and company to the back alleys of town, where the walls are decorated with endearing art.
Europa: How beautiful... The winter landscape drawn on the surrounding debris and structures is delightful.
Fiorito: Wait, don't tell me... That girl on the wall did all of this? Damn, get a load of her forearms!
Hallessena: Illnott! Illnooott!
Catura: Ah... Long time no see.
Illnott: What's up, homies? Hanging out late at night like a bunch of naughty kids, eh?
Illnott comes down from the wall, and Hallessena introduces the nocturnal artist.
She shares a hometown with Hallessena and is acquainted with Catura.
After a bevy of self-introductions, the crew explain what they have sought out Illnott for. But to their surprise, the artist shakes her head.
Catura: No? But why...
Illnott: No reason to it. Give me a break, will ya?
Illnott: You might've already guessed it, but I'm not exactly a goody two-shoes who goes around doing charity work.
Fiorito: That your personal policy or something? Guess we'll leave you to it then.
Fiorito: Just like muscles—they don't exactly bloom if you overwork them when they're crying for rest. I kind of know how you feel.
Catura: What a shame... While these drawings are done in a different style from illustrated storybooks, I quite like them...
Europa: I was certain your attendance would do wonders for the party...
Illnott: Sigh... Hallessena, Pengy... Come here, my little dudes.
Hallessena: Hm, hm.
Pengy: Pegu pegu.
Illnott whispers in their ears...
After which the two gleefully pick up nearby iron scraps and begin work on something.
Both: Finished!
Stickers with art resembling Illnott's drawings are pumped out of a mysterious machine.
Illnott: Insert any drawing and out it comes in the form of a sticker. I'll teach you guys how to draw, so give it a shot.
After a quick lecture, each crew member produces a simple drawing to insert into the machine, resulting in fancy personalized stickers.
Catura: I drew Santa as a cow... And that's Milky with him... Moohoohoo.
Europa: My, how adorable. I tried my hand at a snowman and a snowflake.
Fiorito: I went with a holiday-themed adjustable dumbbell that'd help Bicep Minister Viola bloom!
Fiorito: Bet it'd feel so good doing curls with this!
Pleased to see the crew full of smiles, Illnott prepares to make herself scarce.
Hallessena: Wait, Illnott... I still think it's better if you're with us... If you're up to it, that is.
Illnott: All right, all right, you win... I'm only gonna be around at night though.
Vyrn: Hehe! I see you've still got trouble bein' honest with yourself. Thought you weren't the type to do charity work.
Illnott: Listen up, kids. This lizard makes for the perfect hug pillow. Go for it; you'll see that I'm right. Bet he'll enjoy it too.
Child 1: R-really?
Vyrn: Whoa! What are ya—
Vyrn: Mgrwaah... That's just evil...
The crew break out into smiles, glad to have Illnott join them.
Though it's still a bit early for the party, the crew is already exchanging lovely presents in the form of stickers.

Happy Holidays! 2022 - Reclaiming the Winter Night - Episode 4

After enlisting Illnott, the crew searches for someone who can make cake and warm drinks.
The perfect person quickly comes to mind, and they make their way to Raduga, the Grandcypher's subgalley.
Ladiva: Why, hello there. It's not often I see you at this hour.
Garma: ...
Ladiva is there with Garma, who enjoys his drink in silence.
(Captain) explains the situation, and Ladiva happily accepts the captain's request.
Ladiva: It's not often we get this kind of opportunity. Why you don't you join too, Garma?
Garma: Huh?
Ladiva: You were just saying you have too much free time because not many jobs have been coming in lately.
Garma: Don't be ridiculous. You don't want a former crook like me around the rug rats.
Cain: If that's really how you feel, then I'm certain you won't be a bad influence on the kids.
Garma: Oh, put a sock in it... You're with (Captain) too, eh?
Cain: Yep, nice to meetcha.
Garma: Heh... Just don't blame me if any kiddos start bawling later.
Child 2: My stomach's growling...
Ladiva: Wait just a moment! I'll make you some delicious hot cocoa right away.
Child 2: Thank you!
Shortly after, Ladiva hands each of the children a cup of hot cocoa.
Child 2: Glug... Whew, that's delicious. I'm sure everyone would love this.
Child 1: Yeah, I bet it'd be perfect for the party! It'd keep us warm too!
Ladiva: Haha, you children are too kind! I just remembered there's someone else who'd be perfect for the occasion.
Ladiva: You guys know her too. I'm talking about Cathy of Kitten Cafe.
Ladiva: The cocoa I had at her place was something else.
Vyrn: Oh, Cathy? That's true—she was helpin' out some children before too... Sounds like a good fit. Let's go look for her!
Child 2: Thank you so much... Yawn...
Ladiva: Haha, we can continue this tomorrow. You looked tired... Of course, you'll be staying the night, yes?
Ladiva: C'mon. I'll read you two a picture book.
Garma: So, (Captain)... Going by the details of the assignment, Santa didn't visit the kids this year.
Garma: But no matter how you look at it, they're exactly the type of nice children that Santa would visit. Something reeks, and I don't like it...
After exiting Raduga, (Captain) continues to ponder over the mystery of Santa being a no-show.
Two figures furtively watch as the captain takes off.

Happy Holidays! 2022 - Reclaiming the Winter Night - Episode 5

On the afternoon of the following day, the crew visits Kitten Cafe with the children in tow.
Cathy is having a friendly chat with Detective Rick, who's a regular customer there.
Cathy: Welcome to... Oh, Ladiva. (Captain) too?
Ladiva: Sorry to show up out of the blue with such a large group.
Cathy: Nuh-uh, it's fine. Not like I was tied up serving customers anyhow.
Detective Rick: That's some way to talk about me, Cathy! Or am I not a customer?
Cathy: Haha, you had a single cup of complimentary coffee from me and stayed for hours on end.
Detective Rick: Ngh... Ahaha... I-I'm gonna order a ton starting right now!
Cathy: Teehee... What can I get you guys? As you just heard, it's Rick's treat.
Detective Rick: Brgwaah! Welp, a man doesn't go back on his word... Just don't order anything too pricey, please.
Ladiva: Haha, what a tempting offer. Any chance we can get some hot cocoa for the children?
Cathy: Hot cocoa? Sure thing. Just one minute.
Shortly after, Cathy comes over with hot cocoa on a tray.
The children gasp at the delectable taste.
Child 1: This is incredible... Imagine if we could serve this to everyone...
Cathy: Sounds like you have something in mind.
(Captain) explains the circumstances. Cathy is hesitant at first but quickly gives in after another look at the children.
Cathy: All right. Between me and Ladiva, you're going to have some mighty fine hot cocoa at the party.
Ladiva: I was hoping you'd see it that way. I also need to make cake. Think you can help with that too?
Cathy: Gladly. Though I'm curious as to why Santa didn't show up.
Detective Rick: This neighborhood is definitely within Kris Kringle's reach. There's even eyewitness reports...
Child 1: We didn't get presents this year though...
Detective Rick: "This year," meaning you got presents last year?
Child 2: Actually, we've been getting fewer presents each year... But this year...
Cain: "Fewer presents," you say?
Detective Rick: Sorry to hear about that. This could be an interesting case. I'll ask around and see what I can find out.
Rick lethargically waves goodbye as he leaves Kitten Cafe.
Meanwhile, the two figures who've been tailing (Captain) from the shadows since a day prior listen in on the conversation.

Happy Holidays! 2022 - Reclaiming the Winter Night - Episode 6

After Detective Rick leaves Kitten Cafe to look into word on Santa, Garma and Cain also leave the establishment.
Glaring angrily at the figures who've been watching the crew...
Garma: You've been watching us since yesterday. What do you want?
Cain: You up there. What is that you're riding on? Care to come down for a chat?
Lobelia: Ooh la la... Hahah! I was sure I muffled the sound of my heartbeat and my breathing... I'm impressed.
Garma: I happen to have a good nose on me. It's particularly sensitive to the scent of blood.
Lobelia: Heh... You kind of reek yourself, if you don't mind me saying.
Friday: Sorry about that. I suppose FRIED SHRIMP's crisp batter gives off a bit of a scent...
Friday: As an apology for stimulating your appetite, I'll make you some delicious fried prawn! Have as much as you'd like!
Lobelia: Gwaha! What an interesting mademoiselle! That's not exactly what Garma meant by "scent," but I'll gladly take you up on your offer!
Garma: (Lobelia... He kills not as a means to an end, but simply for the joy of it... He may be a crew member, but he's definitely one to watch out for.)
Cain: (As for this lady right here, I heard she's burned down someone's house before to stand up for her beliefs...)
Cain & Garma: (Talk about a strange duo...)
Lobelia: What's with that look of suspicion in your eyes? We're as harmless as children!
Friday: Hey, relax! We're working together as part of the Santa Encounter Alliance!
Cain: Santa Encounter... Alliance? What's that?
Lobelia: Isn't it obvious from the name? We just wanna see Santa in the flesh—no pun intended.
Friday: For someone who works so hard to deliver presents to children all over the skies, it's only right that Santa lives an enriching life.
Friday: Which is why I'd like to give him an invitation to Alohas Super Resort, a voucher redeemable for one year's worth of fried prawns, and a set of all the books I've penned!
Friday: He deserves proper rest for all the effort he puts in... Good work-life balance is the crux of QOL!
Garma: Fair enough. I'm not sure I understand you entirely, but I can tell you're not a threat.
Garma: Lobelia though... Wish I could say the same about you...
Lobelia: Ahem... Truth be told, I've never met Santa.
Lobelia: No point waiting for him to show up, I told myself. Just like how you have to pursue happiness of your own accord. That's why I've decided to take matters into my own hands—
Lobelia: Whoa, whoa, how about we put away the rifle and katana? I'm no different from Friday—we just want to show our appreciation for the jolly old man.
Lobelia: I figured the assignment this time would be the perfect occasion to meet him.
Cain: Yeah, we also thought it strange Santa didn't visit the orphanage this year...
Lobelia: Gwahahaha. I'm sure he'll show up eventually—along with the dark-clad Santa.
With a snicker, he whispers something into Cain's and Garma's ears.
Cain & Garma: ...!
Lobelia: Adieu, lovely friends of (Captain).
Friday: Till we meet again! FRIED SHRIMP, liftoff!
FRIED SHRIMP: FRY!

Happy Holidays! 2022 - Reclaiming the Winter Night - Episode 7

With casting for the holiday show complete...
The crew pays a visit to the orphanage and holds a preliminary bash for the children.
Spinnah: Feast your eyes on this! A spin blade's true worth is in its ability to entertain—the lesson of the night!
Spinnah: Is this beautiful or what! Razzles and dazzles so much that you want to try it yourself, eh!
Spinnah: Good thing I've got a spin blade for every one of you! Become one with the spin blade and enjoy the revolutions!
Child 3: Woo-hoo, this is way too cool!
Spinnah: Hahah! Welcome to the world of the spin.
Carmelina: Come one, come all! A thrilling talent show's about to begin!
Ulamnuran: I'm going to walk across this tightrope while juggling a plethora of little chakrams!
Carmelina: Once he makes it across, please give him a big round of applause!
No, rather, say "peace," everyone!
Child 4: That's pretty high up though... Isn't it dangerous?
Ulamnuran: It's all good; I've got this! Keep your eyes peeled, everyone! Here goes...
Carmelina: Adding more chakrams into the mix one by one! Whoo!
Ulamnuran: Okey-doke... Uh... Whoa!
Though he falls from the tightrope, Ulamnuran manages to catch every chakram and makes a graceful landing.
Children: Wow!
Ulamnuran: Ahaha! Thought I messed up for a second, did you? That was fun!
Carmelina: Haha! All right, say it with me, everyone! Peace!
Children: Peace!
Fiorito: Next up is my muscle show! Watch as my little Rosa blooms!
Fiorito: Abs and thighs!
Child 3: She's ripped... I wanna be like her...
Fiorito: That's the spirit! You wanna water your muscles like any flower! Give 'em enough TLC, and they're bound to bloom eventually!
Europa: I'm here to add some decorations. I hope you like this.
As Europa clasps her hands in prayer, beautiful ice crystals form in the interior of the orphanage.
Hallessena: Pengy!
Pengy: Pegu!
Hallessena and Pengy power up a wind generator constructed by Europa on the spot.
The children's eyes light up as the crystals give off the shine of an aurora.
Children: It's beautiful...
Illnott: Burn that pretty view into your memory and draw it here. I'll turn your doodles into a memento later.
Child 2: Thank you, miss! This would be great to put up on the walls!
Ladiva: Okay, everyone. The cake and hot cocoa's ready!
Catura: It's made from the milk of the Ox Temple... So you can trust that it's... very nutritious!
Cathy: Enjoy and don't take it all in too fast.
Child 3: Nom, nom... It's delicious! I'm in heaven...
Catura: Moohoohoo... And I'm pleased just to see... your happy faces!
Ladiva: Haha... We're going to make the main party even more fun.
Child 1: Wow! I can't even imagine what that would be like... I feel so lucky.
Child 4: Yeah... I've never had a party like this... It's great.
Child 3: I hope this is a sign that Santa will come...
Child 2: Hey, you promised not to mention that...
Child 3: Ah, sorry! Enough about that from me!
Ladiva: No need to put on a tough face. Just keeping hardships to yourself will only make them worse.
Europa: So... What reason could Santa possibly have for not visiting them?
Catura: It sure is a mystery... Just look at how wonderful the children are.
Many in the crew nod in agreement as they enjoy the dessert.
Perhaps an answer to this mystery will soon be uncovered.

Happy Holidays! 2022 - Reclaiming the Winter Night - Episode 8

On the morning of the main party, Rick, Cain, and Garma show up before (Captain).
Detective Rick: How's everyone doing? Actually let's cut to the chase. I've got info.
Cain: Thanks to our detective friend here from the Skydom Bureau of Investigation, we have the gist of the situation.
Detective Rick: Aw, you're giving me too much credit. You two helped me big-time.
Lyria: You mean Garma and Cain helped you look into Santa's activities?
Garma: Sure did. I suspected from the get-go that something was afoot. Turns out I was right.
Detective Rick: Santa definitely paid a visit this year too.
Vyrn: Huh? Why were there no presents then?
Detective Rick: According to the director, Santa always leaves the presents right outside the door.
Detective Rick: She would pick up the presents after the party to hand out to everyone.
Garma: A bunch of crooks took the goodies for themselves when no one was looking.
Lyria: That's awful...
Garma: This probably seems weird coming from me, but it sure leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
Detective Rick: Word is they've been stealing more and more presents each year, and now they just grab the entire haul.
Cain: I considered the possibility that maybe they were doing it out of desperation, to survive...
Detective Rick: But in that case, we could've just brought 'em a few of Cathy's sandwiches when we interrogated them.
Vyrn: "Interrogated"? You mean you caught 'em?
Garma: Just a few. Most scattered off when we snuck into their base.
Detective Rick: Turns out they're crooks only because they wanted to make a little extra cash on the side.
Cain: Surely even they have fond memories of receiving Santa's presents as children. Yet this is what they do now...
Detective Rick: When we explained the situation to Santa, he said he'd come by again today.
Vyrn: Yeah? That's awesome!
Cain: Problem is...
Garma: Those crooks are sure to make another move. They get bolder every time they're not caught.
Detective Rick: Santa could be at risk too. I'm going to scout the area with my men.
Knitting his brows—a rarity for the detective—Rick takes off.
Lyria: Taking from children is such a horrible thing to do...
Vyrn: Yeah, it's messed up. We can't just leave it to Gumshoe Helpless; we've gotta chip in too!
Garma: No, it's fine. The rest of you focus on enjoying the party.
Lyria: But...
Garma: It's better if the children don't know anything. Leave this matter to us grown-ups.
With those words, Garma and Cain depart from the orphanage.
Girls: ...
Cathy, Illnott, and Hallessena quietly take off too—likely in pursuit of them.

Happy Holidays! 2022 - Reclaiming the Winter Night - Episode 9

That night, a party much grander in scale than the preliminary bash is held at the orphanage.
As the ebullient voices of the children fill the air, Santa discreetly shows up in front of the door.
However...
Ne'er-Do-Well 1: Hohoho... How 'bout you hand that over to us?
Ne'er-Do-Well 2: As it turns out, your presents fetch us a pretty rupie.
Santa Claus: Hm, I thought it was strange my presents weren't getting to the children... Have you people no shame!
Ne'er-Do-Well 3: Unfortunately for you, we don't.
Ne'er-Do-Well 4: Tell us where your base is. I bet you've already got next year's presents lined up. More profit for us...
Ne'er-Do-Well 3: Some group callin' themselves the Skydom Bureau of Investigation is after us... So you can imagine we've got expenses...
Ne'er-Do-Well 2: Never mind expenses! I've already lost all my scratch from gamblin'! Was a whole year's worth too!
Santa Claus: How did you grow up to be such wayward adults...
Ne'er-Do-Well 1: Heck if I know! Also, I was thinkin' we could kidnap and sell off the children to make a little extra!
Ne'er-Do-Wells: Kyahahaha!
Cain: They've revealed themselves for who they truly are.
Garma: Sure have. I'm gonna have no regrets cutting them down.
Ne'er-Do-Well 1: Who the hell are you!
Lobelia: Santa carries a large white bag.
Friday: The ever-wonderful Santa Claus.
Catherine: Except this Santa is dressed in shadowy garments, and his bag is empty.
Illnott: Empty because he needs to fill it up with naughty children.
Hallessena: Ever heard of anti-Santa? Hahah! Keeheehee!
Ne'er-Do-Well 2: Wh-who the heck are you! G-get 'em, boys!
Cain: Don't even bother resisting. We won't be holding back.
Garma: Not a chance.
Ne'er-Do-Well 3: Eeeek!
Cain and Garma stuff the bag with ne'er-do-wells in a matter of moments.
Ne'er-Do-Well 1: What in the world just happened...
Lobelia: How unbecoming, Monsieur. Calm yourself.
With a snap of his fingers, Lobelia blows up the ground the ne'er-do-wells are standing on, rendering them unable to move.
Friday: The lack of a proper work environment must have led them down this path...
Friday: But that matters little now, because I am going to liberate you from the bonds of your past! Consider yourselves free to start all over again!
Ne'er-Do-Well 1: Gyaaaah!
Hallessena: Hyaaahaaa! I'm gonna chop you all into itty-bitty pieces and stuff you in the bag!
Ne'er-Do-Well 2: Aiiee... Y-you monsters...
Catherine: Did you just call us cuties monsters?
Ne'er-Do-Well 2: There's nothin' cute about someone who pulls a trigger or draws a blade willy-nilly!
Ne'er-Do-Well 2: Damn it... Who's the weakest one here... You there! Don't move!
Illnott: Quite the optimist, aren't you?
The crook tries to apprehend Illnott in a show of force to the crew.
Ne'er-Do-Well 2: If you don't want any harm to come to your friend, then you'd better back off!
Hallessena: Uh... I'd unhand her if I were you...
Ne'er-Do-Well 2: What the... Guh... Ouch! That's a heck of a grip you got, lady!
Illnott grips the crook's hand so hard that his bones can be heard cracking.
Illnott: How do you think I'm able to cling to the wall or to airships to do my paint jobs? It's all in the forearms, B-boy.
Cain: I know he deserves it, but maybe try not to bang him up too badly...

Happy Holidays! 2022 - Reclaiming the Winter Night - Episode 10

Santa Claus: Why, thank you so much for your help. Hopefully, now the children of this orphanage will be able to smile again.
Cain: The pleasure is all ours! I never imagined I'd get to meet the real Santa one day.
Cain: To be able to help you restore smiles to the children has been an honor.
Santa Claus: You're far too kind. Though I was simply respecting the director's wishes, I did not think my presents would be stolen...
Catherine: Those crooks are the ones to blame. None of it is your fault.
Catherine tries to lift up the bag of ne'er-do-wells, but the weight of four men proves to be too much for her.
Illnott: Need a hand? I'm about to go on my night rounds anyway. Where do you want the bag?
Illnott effortlessly lifts up the bag and winks at Catherine.
Catherine: Your strength is no joke...
Illnott: I gotta be able to spray-paint anywhere I want. Wouldn't want an excuse like not being able to reach high enough to get in the way of that.
Garma: Lobelia, Friday, nice work sniffing them out.
Garma and Cain recall the words Lobelia whispered into their ears the other day.
Lobelia: I smell the work of miscreants. I say we be like dark-clad Santa and bag them as presents.
Lobelia: Haha, I'm not much different from you in my sensitivity to the scent of blood and murder.
Garma: Heh... I'm definitely no saint, but I'm not exactly fond of being compared to you either.
Friday: More importantly this is for you, Santa! Happy holidays!
Lobelia: And this here's from me. This encounter has been a long time coming, Santa Claus.
Santa Claus: What's this... A letter and... a seashell?
Friday: It's a premium invitation to Alohas Super Resort! I can only imagine how tired you must be from your usual tasks, so please use the chance to rest up!
Lobelia: Stored in that conque are many blissful sounds of the holy night. May it help you relax, Santa.
Santa Claus: How nice...
Santa Claus: Hohoho, thank you very much, you two.
Santa Claus: Though I must say this is a surprise, Lobelia... Then again, perhaps the notions of good and evil do not apply to you...
Lobelia: Hah. You seem to know me pretty well despite having never met me.
Lobelia: Well then, shall we get going soon? We've done what we came for, and I wouldn't want to get in (Captain)'s way.
Friday: Wait, I still haven't given Santa my voucher for a year's worth of fried prawns and a collection of the books I've written! And that's not all!
Lobelia: Fried prawns? I'm a big fan of them... and your stories as well. Any chance you could tell me more?
Friday: So I've caught your interest then! This calls for an impromptu lecture! I'll begin with a talk on the importance of quality of life!
As Lobelia feigns interest in Friday's discussion, the two fade into the shadows.
Garma: They come and go like a storm...
Santa Claus: Sigh... To think I'd be getting presents of my own after having a bunch stolen from under my nose...
Cain: Hey, no need to be so down about it. Though if you don't mind, I suppose there is something you could do to make up for it...
Hallessena: Come to the party with us! We'd love to have you!
Santa Claus: I like that idea!
Catura: Oh my...
Carmelina: Could it be...
Children: Santa!
Santa Claus: Hohoho... Sorry I couldn't get here sooner.
Fiorito: Man, this is the best present ever! You have no idea how happy you just made everyone!
Europa: Haha... (Captain) wasn't kidding about this being an incredibly rewarding assignment.
Spinnah: Rewarding? Did we already get the reward for this assignment?
Ulamnuran: Hehe, we sure did.
Ladiva: Don't you see how delighted the children are?
Lyria: That's the best kind of present!
Spinnah: Hahah, you just might be right. I got to spread the love of spin blades, so I've nothing to complain about.
Pengy: Peggy peggy! We couldn't have asked for a more pengarifficly happy ending!
After the party, Santa gives presents to the crew as well for all their help.
In addition, (Captain) receives gifts from fellow crew members and the children.
In true holiday spirit, the act of gift-giving brings a smile to all.
The following day, a large bag of ne'er-do-wells is delivered to Detective Rick's doorstep as a holiday present.
