Auguste of the Dead - Chapter 4: Meg of Darkness - Episode 1

(Captain) and Meg defeat the zombicopter, but the chairperson summons a giant zombie orca called Rugiet. While the crew is distracted, the zombie fish bite Mari, and the chairperson escapes with her as a hostage. (Captain) and company are devastated by the loss of another friend as well as their only way of producing the cure.

The zombicopter spins out of control from (Captain)'s and Meg's heavy blows.

It crashes onto the roof of the research center, and eventually, the chairperson comes crawling out of the broken aircraft.

Chairperson: Ugh... It's not possible. We're only on step one of the plan...

Meg: Too bad for you! Your plan is finished!

Ursula: Sharrrk!

Chairperson: A girl with a shark as her left arm... You're who they call Auguste's hero, Meg!

Chairperson: An irksome creature and a fool combined... Truly nothing but trouble!

Chairperson: I should have known a pest like you would stand in the way of my Auguste Purification Plan!

Meg: I don't really get what you're yapping about, but listening to you hurl insults like that really gets on my nerves!

The crew keep their distance, eyeing the chairperson warily. All except one person, who boldly stalks up to the man.

Mari: ...!

Mari raises her hand and slaps the chairperson across the face with all the strength she can muster.

Chairperson: Meep!

Mari: Do you even know where you are? This is Auguste, the number one vacation spot!

Mari: It's not some place you can mess around with just because you want to!

Chairperson: ...!

Mari: I don't know what happened to you exactly, but I won't forgive you for ruining Meg's beloved Auguste for your own stupid pleasure!

Furious, Mari grabs the chairperson by the hair and hits him over and over again.

Mari: Take this! And this! How dare you ruin my dream vacation with Meg!

Chairperson: Ow! Owww!

Meg: Um, Mari? L-let's calm down a little!

As Meg attempts to pull Mari away, the chairperson abruptly lets out a shout.

Chairperson: Now! Cooome!

???: Screeeeee!

Chairperson: Come to me!

A creature appears out of nowhere, jumping over the roof of the building with incredible speed. It snatches the chairperson up before the others can react.

Lyria: What is that! Is it a shark that became a zombie?

Ellen: No... It's Rugiet! A dangerous orca feared by all fishermen and known for its ferocity!

Vyrn: An orca? What's that?

Ellen: Generally speaking, orcas are distant relatives of dolphins.

Ellen: Orcas don't usually attack people, but Rugiet is a special case where it has mutated into an incredibly feral creature.

Ellen: I've heard that a passerby once drove Rugiet away from Auguste. But it seems the chairperson has captured it again for his own purposes...

Chairperson: Heh-heh-heh. That is correct! I was able to obtain Rugiet thanks to a certain source of mine. I turned the orca into a zombie after and gave it the ability to fly!

Vyrn: Heh! You wanna go for another fight with that whale? Give us all ya got!

Chairperson: Please. Fights don't always involve fists. You find your opponent's weakness and attack from there.

Feeling uneasy, (Captain) and company look around the area cautiously. Suddenly, Mari drops into a crouch.

Meg: Mari! What's the matter? Are you feeling sick?

Mari: I got bitten...

Meg: What! B-bitten?

Mari: My body feels really hot... It feels strange. It's probably too late... Meg, you have to get away from me...

Chairperson: Hahahaha! Have you forgotten all about the zombie fish around us?

Chairperson: Having one of the fish bite her while you were all distracted by Rugiet was too easy!

Chairperson: And now...

Kolulu: Watch out, Meg! The zombie fish are aiming for you! Dodge them!

Zombie Fish: Graaaawr!

Meg: Ugh!

Meg has no choice but to turn to face the countless zombie fish heading toward her.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, the zombie orca plucks Mari up with its jaws.

Meg: Mari!

Mari: M-Meg!

Chairperson: I'll be taking our new zombie companion now! But rest assured! I'm sure you will all be reunited someday—at the bottom of the ocean!

Meg: Maaaariiii!

With that, the zombie orca swoops away, disappearing into the darkness.

Ellen: This is a disaster! Without a helicopter anymore, we won't even be able to make the cure!

Lyria: Oh no... Is there really nothing else we can do?

Ellen: I can't think of anything right now. The medicine was the only cure I knew for undoing the zombification...

Vyrn: You're kidding... This can't be real. It just can't!
