(Captain) hesitates to fight Cosmos because of what might happen to her surrogates, Zooey and Geo. But upon hearing that Zooey is fine with disappearing if it means the world can persist, (Captain) prepares for battle.
Cosmos: I understand now. There's only one thing left for me to do.
Cosmos turns to (Captain) once more.
Cosmos: Singularity, battle me so that we may determine the world's will.
Lyria: Huh? We have to fight?
Cosmos: The world can endure only if you destroy me and free me from the power of arbitration.
Cosmos: For I cannot eradicate myself.
Lyria: Um... Can't you just continue living on with us, Cosmos?
Lyria: I knew that (Captain) chose the world when Yuni came to see us...
Lyria: But here you are right now. Can't things just stay like this?
Cosmos: As I said, between the singularity and arbitration, only one can remain.
Zooey: ...
Cosmos: The laws of the world do not allow the coexistence of the two.
Cosmos: Were I to be spared today, the power of arbitration would eventually be engulfed by the singularity.
Cosmos: In which case I would lose control and unconsciously send more surrogates after the singularity.
Io: You mean another Zooey look-alike might show up to kill (Captain)?

Nezha: Once you are gone, what will become of your surrogates Zooey and Geo?
Cosmos: Naturally, they will fade away with me.
Vyrn: Urk!
Io: What's that supposed to mean! Zooey's gonna go bye-bye too?
Lyria: No! That can't be true!
Zooey: I'm at peace with it.
Zooey: I was always prepared for this possibility.
Faced with Zooey's quiet gaze, (Captain) gives her a thumbs-down.
Zooey: Think about it.
Zooey: If you were to disappear in Cosmos's stead, the world would be doomed.
Zooey: Then everything would be meaningless.

Lyria: But... Zooey!
Eugen: Damned if you do and damned if you don't...
Vyrn: Why do we gotta off one of our own friends just to go on living!

Zooey: This is a wish of mine as well.

Zooey: Being a part of Cosmos, I've never wanted for much. This may be the first thing I, myself, have truly ever wished for.
Zooey: You said it yourself, Lyria.
Zooey: That it's okay to harbor both duty and wishes.
Lyria: Zooey...
Zooey: Mortal, primal... I love every single life that lives in this world.
Zooey: So regardless of Cosmos or my role, I wish to protect this world and those of you who live in it.
Zooey: Please, (Captain).
Zooey: But you can.
Zooey: Your kindness and strength will allow my wish to come true.
Zooey: Thank you, (Captain).
Zooey: I'm happy you were the singularity.

Zooey turns to Cosmos once more.
Zooey: Cosmos. Am I permitted to fight you alongside (Captain)?
Cosmos: If that is what you desire, Zooey.
Zooey: Thank you.
Cosmos: What will you do, Geo?
Geo: Don't make me pick a side. I'm allied with neither one of you.
Geo: I'd rather not get involved.
Cosmos: Very well.
Cosmos's kind gaze falls upon the despondent Geo.
Zooey: Well then...
Zooey gently rests her hand on (Captain)'s hand and guides it to rest upon the handle of the captain's trusty sword.
