Gachapin, Mukku, and the Azure Adventure - Chapter 3: Gachapin Keeps Saving the Day - Episode 1

(Captain) and the crew are met by Pommern and Prime Minister Freesia at Golonzo. The two attempt to kidnap Lyria, but are thwarted by Gachapin. Gachapin begins to have the feeling that he has met the furry, red soldier somewhere before.

(Captain) and company set off for Golonzo, where the Grandcypher can be repaired.
But a thick fog suddenly appears, blocking visibility all around them. The ship's power unit begins to die out, forcing them to make a crash landing.
Gachapin: Is this Golonzo?
Rackam: No... Where are we?
Lyria: I can sense a primal beast on the island.
They come across a village on the island, only to find that its inhabitants have long passed away and become friendly zombies.
The villagers tell the crew that a young girl on the island may have something to do with the primal beast. The crew decides to visit the girl at her mansion.
Vyrn: The primal beast Celeste... So that's what turned the villagers into zombies and is keepin' us from leaving the island?
???: Yes. Once Celeste is driven away, you should be able to leave the island.
The crew discovers that the girl is a ghost who has long forgotten her name.
The girl then receives a new name—Ferry.
Io: If Celeste goes away, that means you and the villagers...
Ferry: We'll probably disappear. But the current situation is against nature. I'll just be returning the island to its natural state.
Gachapin: Its natural state...
Vyrn: Huh? What's the matter, Gachapin?
Gachapin: Oh, never mind. It's nothing.
After a fierce battle with Celeste, the crew manages to take down the primal beast.
Celeste: ...
Io: No way... Didn't we just defeat it?
As it turns out, the crew had been fighting against something similar to a shadow. The real Celeste, however, remains unscathed.
Vyrn: So we hafta defeat the real one... Guess we'd better start looking!
Rackam: All right, I'll take a look over there.
Eugen: Then I'll take this side.
(Captain) and company split up and begin to search the island for the real Celeste.
They ask the zombie villagers to help in their search.
Monster: ...!
Ferry: Yes... Ah, I see. Thanks!
After conversing with her pet monsters, Ferry turns to (Captain).
Ferry: It seems a ghost ship was spotted near that cliff in the distance! Let's go!
Io: Right up ahead! That's where the real Celeste is!
Vyrn: Who was it that found Celeste anyway?
???: Guuuys... Guuuys!
Vyrn: Huh? That voice...
Io: I'm pretty sure I know who found it...
Lyria: But where could he be? I hear Gachapin, but I don't see him anywhere...
Io: Wait! Over there!
Io stands on the edge of the cliff and points to something that catches the rest of the crew by surprise.
Gachapin: I'm heeere!
Vyrn: Wha! He's clingin' to the side of the cliff!
Lyria: Eep! Gachapin, it's dangerous over there!
Gachapin: I found Celeste!
Celeste: ...
Vyrn: Whoa, it really is Celeste!
Lyria: G-Gachapin! We see it, so you can come back now!
Gachapin: Okay, here I come!
Gachapin: But I have to move slooowly in case I fall... Whoooa...
Io: Eek! H-hey, be careful there!
Lyria: Ooh... Just watching makes me nervous!
Vyrn: Be real careful... One wrong step and you're a goner!
Thanks to Gachapin once again, the crew finds the real Celeste and successfully defeats it.
Gentle rays of sunlight break through the mist shrouding the island. As Ferry watches, her expression softens.
Ferry: With Celeste gone, the villagers have all disappeared... Everyone except me.
Ferry: This must mean that I still have a part to play. So I'll remain here in this world... I'm not going away.
Ferry: All of you helped me so much. Thank you.
(Captain) and company smile over their strange yet precious encounter on this island they had landed on by chance.
They set off into the skies once more and continue on toward the island of Golonzo.
Rackam: Well, there was a slight detour, but looks like we managed to make it here in one piece thanks to the Grandcypher.
Rackam and Eugen reveal their history with Golonzo as they recognize familiar faces among the locals in town.
Gachapin: Rackam! Eugen! Umm, do you think they'll have some leftover materials for me to use?
Eugen: Golonzo is famous for repairin' airships, so there's bound to be some odds and ends you can take.
Rackam: Are you makin' something again? Don't tell me you're gonna build another one of those gliders.
Gachapin: Heheh... It's something different this time, but just as cool!
Eugen: Hey! Happen to have any bits and pieces you can spare for this guy?
Shipwright: Of course. Here, take all you need!
The man Eugen called out to shows his supply of materials. After rummaging for a while, Gachapin takes a few things and disappears.
Rackam: Five whole days for the repairs... Sigh...
Eugen: That's what we get for overworkin' the poor ship.
???: The Grandcypher can't leave this island right now.
Eugen: What?
???: Oh my, Eugen, you haven't changed a bit. Oh, and Rackam, it's been quite a long time.
Rackam: Huh? Sorry, but do I know you?
???: No matter what you do to the Grandcypher, it won't be able to leave the island. So long as the promise remains unfulfilled.
Io: What's that s'posed to mean?
Just as the crew is about to press the boy for an explanation, someone interrupts their conversation.
Freesia: I am Freesia von Bismarck, Prime Minister of the Erste Empire.
Freesia: The Erste Empire demands that you and your riffraff return our research property. Hand over Lyria.
Katalina: The Prime Minister... And Pommern...
Pommern: I do say, it has been a while...
Freesia: We shall take custody of this boy, who seems to know so much about you. Take him away!
Furry Red Soldier: Yes ma'am!
???: Now isn't this an irritating predicament.
Furry Red Soldier: Now, this way, yah.
???: Hm? It seems... you've boarded the wrong ship.
Furry Red Soldier: Wha? Are you talking to me? What do you mean?
???: Never mind. Things will settle into place when the time comes.
The red-haired soldier tilts his head in confusion before leading the mysterious boy away.
Io: Hey! Wait a minute!
Pommern: No, I'll have you wait!
Blocking their path, Pommern takes out a small amount of dark essence.
Pommern: Well then, I'll have you pay for what you did last time!
Rackam: Ugh... Didn't you say the same kinda crap back in Auguste? Didn't matter then, and it doesn't matter now!
Pommern: It will certainly matter once I defeat you! Although I highly doubt you'd still be alive by then!
Eugen: Ergh...
Io: Wait a minute! Was he this strong last time?
Pommern: What's this? It seems to me you have one missing from your company... Where could he have gone?
Vyrn: Say what?
Pommern: The green slop... Where is heeeee!
Gachapin's Voice: I'm right here!
Pommern: ...!
Vyrn: G-Gachapin!
Rackam: Whoa! The heck is that?
Gachapin: I took the scraps of material...
Gachapin: And made this!
Gachapin: Pretty cool, right?
Gachapin: Yeeeah!
Pommern: Wh-what! What is that abominable vehicle?
Gachapin: Haaah!
Pommern: Eeek!
Riding on an outlandish vehicle, Gachapin charges straight into Pommern at full speed.
Pommern is sent flying into the air before hitting the ground with a loud thud.
Pommern: Yooou again... Detestable green slime! You must enjoy gloating at my surprise each time you show yourself in front of meee!
Gachapin: Huh? I didn't really think about that...
Pommern: Next time... The next time we meet, your lives will be forfeit!
Pommern retreats out of sight, and the crew manages to save the mysterious boy from the empire's clutches.
Eugen: Another unique invention you've got there, Gachapin...
Gachapin: Isn't it great? This makes it really easy to get around!
Shipwright: Hey, that kind of looks like something called the gearcycle... It's a vehicle that's widely used on another island.
Eugen: Oho... And Gachapin thought this up all by himself, huh?
Rackam: You're one heck of a guy, Gachapin. This thing's only got two wheels, but you were killin' it.
Gachapin: The thing is, I feel like I've ridden something like this before...
Vyrn: Lookin' at you ride that thing has me itchin' to give it a try too!
Vyrn: Hey, Gachapin, let me—
Vyrn is interrupted by the mysterious boy, however, who decides to reveal his identity to the crew.
Noa: I am Noa, a primal beast who specializes in shipmaking and the creator of the Grandcypher.
Rackam: Wha!
The primal beast Noa explains that he once made a promise with Rackam when Rackam was only a child.
Unless that promise is fulfilled, the Grandcypher will not be able to leave Golonzo.
The reason for this lies with Mithra, a primal beast who rules over promises.
Rackam: That's right... I promised Noa that I'd fly with him on the Grandcypher.
Eugen: So that's how it is... And your promise became an iron rule through the power of Mithra.
Noa: I'm so glad you remembered our promise. I'll lend my powers for the repairs. The ship will be as good as new—or I'm not the primal beast of shipbuilding.
With the help of the primal beast, the Grandcypher is repaired and ready to fly again.
The crew laugh and sigh with relief—all except Gachapin, who is quietly lost in thought.
Thinking back to the furry, red imperial soldier, Gachapin is overcome with the feeling that he had met the soldier somewhere before.
