Only You in All the World - Chapter 6: The Story Continues - Episode 1

Some time later, Drusilla realizes that she can't remember what caused her to confront the situation with Homlet, prompting her to put on the outfit she had worn that day. Regaining her memories of Nerine, she once again begins to work toward a happy ending.

Some time has passed since Drusilla's fateful encounter in the Erbsu Forest and the subsequent goodbye that ensued.
In her room on the Grandcypher, Drusilla fills Homlet's food bowl.
Homlet: Twee-tweet!
Drusilla: Hehe. You don't have to flap your wings like that, you know. I'll feed you regardless.
Drusilla: Isn't it wonderful? (Captain) and the crew accepted you so readily.
Drusilla: The truth is... the bird that's been on my hat the whole time is actually Homlet!
Vyrn: What...
Vyrn: What took ya so long! That's what we've been sayin' this whole time!
Lyria: But I'm so glad you were able to find her!
Homlet: Twee-tweet!
Vyrn: Well, would ya look at that. She's perched on (Captain)'s head now.
Drusilla: She seems to have taken a fancy to the captain! I hope you become bosom buddies!
Homlet happily flies around the room, pecking at a picture book on top of the desk.
Homlet: Twee-tweet?
Drusilla: Ah, yes. I purchased that picture book at our local bookstore several years ago.
Drusilla: After that girl went home, I secretly spent the remainder of my allowance on it.
Homlet: Tweet?
Drusilla: Hehe. It's about a little bird around your size that goes on an adventure to an island in the south, traveling to various others after that.
Drusilla strokes Homlet's back, smiling gently.
Drusilla: That's right. This picture book is the basis for Nerine's story, A Bird's Tale.
Nerine: In A Bird's Tale, the little birdie has decided not to go to the southern island after all.
Nerine: She's going to live a peaceful life in the north, having fun hearing about the southern island on the wind and dreaming about what it's like.
Drusilla: I remember everything. Each and every moment of my time spent with Nerine.
Drusilla: The sweat we worked up playing tag in the forest, the sting of the fizzy beverages we drank in town, the way we cried and laughed under the lamplight.
Drusilla: And it's all thanks to you, Homlet.
One day, Drusilla had realized that she couldn't seem to remember what caused her to finally confront the situation surrounding Homlet.
Feeling that something was amiss, she had put on the outfit she wore that day, causing her memories of Nerine to come flooding back.
Drusilla: You were there within my memories all along. These clothes just brought you back to me.
Drusilla: ...
Drusilla: It was a convenient miracle... like a deus ex machina in a picture book.
Drusilla: But I refuse to accept a story that ends so normally.
Drusilla: After all, I'm special to you.
Grandma's Letter: You have always been an intelligent child who never fails to understand what is truly important.
Korwa: Every tale deserves a happy ending!
Drusilla: Hehe. I thought it might be worth learning from your example as well.
Drusilla: Our story needs its happily ever after. Isn't that right, Nerine?
