Determination

One night (Captain) and Seox discuss the Six-Ruin Fist. Seox had unequivocally refused the weapon's temptations, but the last thing the weapon claimed before going silent was that Seox would assuredly seek out the god-like power. However, Seox is steadfast in his resolve, saying he'll follow (Captain) until his dying breath.

It's dark out on the deck.
Unable to sleep, (Captain) heads outside for some fresh air and sees that someone else is already there.
Seox: ...
  1. Seox?
  2. And where do you think you're going?

Choose: Seox?

Seox: ...!
Seox: It's late, (Captain). What are you doing up?
Seox: Me? I'm just... gathering my thoughts.

Choose: And where do you think you're going?

Seox: ...!
(Captain)... I'm just gathering my thoughts.
Seox: It's the truth. You can stop looking at me like I'm an escaped convict.

Seox: The Six-Ruin Fist claimed we were the same.
Seox: Hearing those words reminded me of the things I've done to get this far in life.
The conversation between the crew and the Six-Ruin Fist is still fresh in (Captain)'s mind.
Six-Ruin Fist: Enough talk, Seox. Put me on.
Six-Ruin Fist: Can't you feel your soul screaming for the satisfaction of taking someone's life?
Seox: ...
The Eternal has yet to respond to the weapon's invitation. (Captain) watches Seox carefully.
Seox: I refuse.
Seox: I have no obligation to go along with the ravings of a greedy, long-dead spirit.
Seox: Just like you, there will come a day when my body is returned to the soil.
Seox: But until then, I am my own man.
Seox: My soul and my flesh belong to no one but me.
The gauntlet lets out a little snicker.
Six-Ruin Fist: Your display of passion doesn't surprise me in the slightest. That defiance isn't half-bad...
Six-Ruin Fist: But the fact of the matter is you've already come in contact with the Revenant weapon and (Captain).
Six-Ruin Fist: When power congregates, mayhem is sure to ensue, whether you like it or not.
Seox: ...
Six-Ruin Fist: Then we'll see who comes begging for the power of a god. You can't deny your instincts.
Six-Ruin Fist: I guess I'll honor your wishes for the time being and take a nice nap...
Six-Ruin Fist: Dreaming of the day you come to your senses and put me to good use.
With a final haunting laugh, the Six-Ruin Fist's aura blinks out of existence.
Seox: Don't worry about what it said. I have no intention of entertaining that weapon any further.
Seox: Still, I can't shake the feeling that the power I used to bring down my clan is tied to that deranged soul in some way.
When it comes to what the Six-Ruin Fist said, it's difficult to determine where falsehoods end and where the truth begins.
As is often the case, the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle.
(Captain) thinks it would be easy to dismiss the gauntlet's words out of hand, but to do so would be irresponsible. The captain frowns, hesitating to speak this aloud.
Seox: Don't make that face.
Seox: Regardless of what my soul says of me, I've already walked a path stained with many hardships and sins I can't atone for.
Seox: But I've made my choice to live with those regrets. I won't be misled again.
Seox: On the contrary, this power has allowed me to fight alongside you, and I wouldn't trade that for the world.
Seox: My power and my spirit...
Seox: I truly believe I was born to meet you.
Seox turns away from the night sky to look at (Captain).
Seox: If we're to take the gauntlet at its word, there will be more battles to come, but that doesn't matter.
Seox: The important thing is I will follow you until the end. That's a promise I'll never break.
A troubling future threatens to embroil Seox according to the Six-Ruin Fist.
But the Eternal is unperturbed, believing that he needn't fear destiny as long as his friends are with him.
A pair of eyes stare out from behind a mask and (Captain) returns the gaze with a resolute nod.
