Lyria: Ahaha... (Captain)'s been debating what costume to wear this year.
Vyrn: Oh, haven't decided yet?
(Captain): ...
Vyrn: The more you think about it, the harder it gets to come up with somethin' good, huh? I know how that feels...
Yaia: Whee! Help me, Vyrn!
Vyrn: Whoa! Wh-where'd you come from?
Lyria: Ahaha, hello, Yaia. What do you need help with?
Yaia: I wanna dress up for Halloween.
Yaia: That way the scary monsters won't eat me.
Yaia: But I don't know what I wanna dress up as...
Lyria: Oh dear... So you're having the same problem as (Captain) then.
Vyrn: Why don't we ask the others for ideas? Never know what they might come up with.
Yaia: Sounds good to me! Maybe they'll help you stay out of the monster's tummies too!
Vyrn: Hey! What would they wanna eat me for?
With hope in their hearts, the group goes to find their fellow crew members.

Lyria: I think Yaia's saying she wants to put on a fluffy suit like yours for Halloween.
Daetta: I see, I see. Hehe, in that case...
Yaia: Look at me! I'm soft and fuzzy all over!
Vyrn: Wow, that's one swanky suit!
Daetta: Hehehe! If there's one thing I'm good at, it's sewing things up! Or didja think my outfit was done by someone else?

Yaia: Big Brother, did you decide what you wanna wear?
Djeeta is the Main Character
Yaia: Big Sister, did you decide what you wanna wear?
Daetta: Oh? No costume for you yet, (Captain)?
Yaia: I don't want the monsters to eat you. We should go ask everyone else for ideas!
Daetta: You mind if I tag along? I'm curious to see whatcha end up doing!
The group, now bigger, goes to search for other crew members to question.

Yaia: Friends, friends!
Daetta: With ideas for Captain!
(Captain) and company walk around a bustling town while people left and right prepare for the upcoming Halloween festivities.
Razia: Ugh, just kill me! What kind of cowardly trap is this?
Yaia & Daetta: Huh?
The group follows the sound of a familiar voice in distress and comes upon a curious sight.
Razia: Show yourself! Untie me this instant and face me! I won't run nor hide!
Daetta: Razia, what're you doing?
Razia: S-stay back! You'll be caught up in this too, and then we'll all be entangled with no hope of escape!
Razia: Whoever did this set it up perfectly... I tripped over a rock and ran straight into drying laundry. Then they ensnared me while I couldn't see!
Vyrn: Uh... That sounds more to me like you stumbled into a mess of your own makin'.
Razia: Do you mean to say... this isn't a trap nor a trick?
Vyrn: Yeah, as far as I can tell...
Lyria: Ahaha... We should help her get untangled.
Yaia: Okay! Razia, we're here to save the day!
Razia: Ugh... I can't believe this.
Daetta: All right, that should do it!
Razia: Sorry about that. And thanks.
Yaia: Hey, Razia? What're you gonna be for Halloween?
Razia: Me? I'm afraid the thought of a costume hasn't crossed my mind, especially considering the pickle I was in.
Yaia: Oh no! But you have to have something. If you don't, the monsters will eat you.
Razia: They'll what? Seriously? I have enough on my plate as is!
Daetta: Ahaha, why not put some face paint on and call it a day, Razia?
Yaia: I like that idea! Let's draw on your face!
Razia: How is this going to work?
Daetta: Just leave everything to me and Yaia!
Yaia: All done! Take a look, Razia!

Razia inspects her reflection carefully in the small mirror Yaia holds up.
Yaia: Now you match with me!
Razia: ...
Razia: Daetta, this paint is easy to wash off, right?
Daetta: Should come off without using soap, I think.
Razia: I see. Then I'll leave it on for the time being.
Vyrn: Looks like somebody's kind of into it.
Razia: M-make no mistake! This is just for the spirit of Halloween!

Dante: (Another beautiful day. The town is abuzz with preparations for the festivities, but Lord Rivera and the rest do not seem to mind.)
Dante: (In fact they do not appear to be bothered by the noise whatsoever. They lie there without a care in the world, content to nap as they please.)
Dante: (Freedom at its finest. I can only endeavor to learn from their example.)
Yaia: Kitty, kitty. Pat, pat, meow, meow.
Vapaus: ...
Dante: (Lord Vapaus remains unmovable like a mountain, even when young Yaia disturbs the peace.)
Dante: (To lose composure is to create openings for enemies to take advantage of. Tranquility is key to a solid defense. True freedom requires no less.)
Dante: (I still have much to learn.)
Yaia: Dante, are you okay? You look like you're thinking hard about something.
Dante: Do not fret. I am simply pondering the new lessons I have been taught.
Gran is the Main Character
Yaia: Oh, okay.
Yaia: By the way, we're looking for a costume for Big Brother. Do you have any ideas?
Djeeta is the Main Character
Yaia: Oh, okay.
Yaia: By the way, we're looking for a costume for Big Sister. Do you have any ideas?

Dante: I am afraid I lack the experience to provide adequate costuming ideas.

Dante: (A costume might... no, should be used as a measure to adapt to climate and the surrounding environment.)

Rivera dangles a fluffy tail in front of Dante's pondering expression.
Yaia: Ah! Are you going to put makeup on Dante's face with your tail?

Dante: But of course, experience itself is the best teacher. To do is to learn after all. You are a genius, Lord Rivera.
Yaia: Does that mean you're going to dress up too, Dante?

Elmott: Uh, sure? What're you here for anyway?
Dante: (Captain) and some of the others are searching for Yaia. Have you seen her?
Elmott: Yaia, huh? Yeah I saw her. She was baking a cake last time I checked.
Elmott: Should be over... Wait, where'd she go?
Elmott: Come on, what'd I say about goofing off while you're cooking? You could get burned if you're not careful.
The Three: Trick or treat!
Elmott: Gah! What're you playing at! Get off me!
Yaia: Elmott, got you!
Daetta: Hehehe... Time to pay up!
Elmott: What?
Razia: Halloween's drawing near, remember? You should join in on the fun.
Yaia: Here you go, Dante.
Dante: Hm? A makeup kit?
Yaia: So we can have Elmott match us! A trick since he has no treats!
Dante: Is that so? I am not well versed in matters of tricks or makeup, but...
Dante: I shall not pass up the opportunity to learn.
Elmott: Now hold on a minute. You don't gotta buy into their scheme, old geezer...
Dante: This is a lesson Lord Rivera cannot teach me. Therefore I shall trick while I have the chance.

Vyrn: So (Captain)'s been kinda stuck on what to do for a costume.
Elmott: A... costume?
Daetta: Ehehe, yep. That's why we're going around asking everyone what they think we should do.
Elmott: You lost me. What does this makeup on my face have to do with (Captain) figuring out a costume?
Razia: Don't ask me. I was just dragged along.
Yaia: It's because we trick-or-treated you!
Elmott: Didn't I feed you cake already? Sheesh...
Elmott: So? Figure anything out after all that?
(Captain): ...
Lyria: Ahaha... You seem more lost than before.
Elmott: Why not just slap paint on your face like me? Could be even scarier than a costume.
Dante: In my opinion, being undecided can be a fortunate opportunity.
Dante: Why not adjust your costume ideas to suit the changing of the seasons, much like Lord Rivera and the others shed and grow fur?
Dante: Explore this lost road you find yourself on and discover the coat of fur that fits you best.
Daetta: What does that mean?
Elmott: Beats me. I can't focus on anything he's saying with all that stuff on his face.
Dante: Indecision is proof of your freedom to choose. I only mean that there are good things ahead, once you push past this trial.
Razia: So what I'm hearing is, it's okay to worry over what you want, so long as you choose something you like in the end.
Yaia: I chose makeup because I liked it a lot.
Dante: Precisely. You are free to paint your entire face like Elmott or I.
Dante: Or choose something small like Razia and the rest. It is up to you.
Daetta: Hrmm... Why don't we have you try a buncha different things then?
Daetta: Here, take my makeup kit. You can borrow it to fancy up your face as much as you feel like!
Razia: Would you mind lending it to me as well, once this paint fades away?
Yaia: Me too!
Daetta: Then this is going to be a community kit! Happy painting!

Lyria: Next is the Grandcypher... Let's decorate with some pumpkins!
Vyrn: Just gotta empty out the insides and carve out eyes, nose, and a mouth, right?
Garma: ...
From afar, ex-bandit Garma watches as (Captain) and company prepare for Halloween.
Lyria: Um, I think we can hang up some sticks of candy too...
Charlotta: (Captain)! Vyrn! Lyria! Hard at work, I see.
Vyrn: Heya, Charlotta! You look ready for Halloween already.
Charlotta: This is the outfit for me. Festive and fitting!
Lyria: It's very nice... Makes me hope (Captain) can find something perfect too.
Vyrn: We've been askin' around for costume ideas, you see.
Charlotta: Oh? An array of opinions could prove helpful in that situation.
Garma: ...
Charlotta: Why, look! Isn't that Garma? Perhaps he could chip in as well.
Vyrn: Garma? What're you doin' all the way over there?
Garma: Keeping watch. With everyone busy preparing for the festivities, someone needs to guard the ship.
Lyria: Don't you have things you want to do before Halloween too?
The group gathers to speak to Garma about preparations for the upcoming evening of candy and fun.
Vyrn: (Captain) thought we should let everyone know we borrowed a makeup kit. How about it? Wanna give it a go?
Garma: No. Distractions will allow for a thief to slip through.
Lyria: But Halloween only comes around once a year...
Lyria: What about playing some tricks then? It seems like something you might like.
Vyrn: You got experience with surprise attacks and putting down traps, yeah? A cool Halloween trick might be right up your alley.
Garma: Traps and surprise attacks are for taking down enemies. They aren't designed to only scare.
Vyrn: Well... I guess if you can't tone it down...
Lyria: Ahaha...

Garma: If you want to discuss your ideas, then I'm willing to listen. No promises for anything else though.

Lucius: Yeah, a pumpkin.

Lucius: There are other costumes that use various sweets as motifs.
Garma: That, and dead bodies. See a lot of those around.
Garma: I don't think any of those will work though. Pretty sure I'll scare every kid off no matter what.
Lyria: Garma...
Lucius: ...
Garma: No costume's going to cover up who I am. Maybe I'll just stick to making the kids cry—
Zaja: Trick or treat...
Garma: ...!
Lyria: Eek!
Vyrn: Gaaah! The heck!
Lucius: Zaja! Don't surprise us like that! I nearly drew my blade on you!
Vyrn: M-man, Slouchy's costume never gets any less terrifyin'...
Zaja: Hehe. People like the way I look when it's Halloween. Maybe they'll like you too, Garma.
Garma: One can hope, at least.
Zaja: Are your fears, perhaps, linked to the past you carry around so heavily?

Zaja: Maybe what's shackling you will feel lighter if you indulge in some tomfoolery. Plus there's no reason to say no when you've been invited already.

Garma: However, that means I also don't have the right to refuse if indulging in this might prove helpful to you all.
Zaja: Of course. You'll find that there are always a variety of ways to contribute, just like a fist or sword can serve many uses. Isn't that right, Lucius?
Lucius: Yeah.
Lucius: These hands of mine are stained with the blood of revenge, but here they are carrying a jack-o'-lantern anyway.
Garma: ...
Lucius: Doesn't matter to me if you used to be a crook or a bandit. You're probably not much different than me. So quit whining and go carve your own pumpkin.

Lucius: I was teaching swordplay to some children when one of the girls made me switch over to knife techniques. We ended up making this together.

Lecia: Sounds like a plan.

Vyrn: Uh, why're you covered in sweat and lookin' like you've seen a ghost?
Charlotta: Vyrn? (Captain)?

Lucius: That sounds like Teena to me. She left to practice dressing up with Lecia as soon as she finished preparing dinner.
Charlotta: What? Lucius, do you speak the truth?
Charlotta: Though now that you mention it... Those monsters did look awfully similar to Teena and Lecia...
Vyrn: Gahaha! No way! You ran all that way without noticin' it was them?
Charlotta: Ergh... I cannot believe I was so blinded by fear that I didn't recognize my comrades.
Charlotta: What a failure on my part. I should make an attempt to apologize, but their appearances are so frightening...
Garma: I could help you out, if you want.
Charlotta: Oh? If you're willing, then by all means!
Garma: Then let's plan it for tomorrow. I'll need a day to prepare.

Teena: That's really weird... Where'd the makeup remover go?
Lecia: We did make a huge mess of the makeup kit while we were applying everything.
Lecia: Hopefully we can find it quickly and then go apologize to Charlotta—
Charlotta: ...
Charlotta: Is this the makeup remover you're looking for?
Teena: It is! That's the super effective kind!
Lecia: Charlotta!
Lecia: We are so sorry about yesterday—
Charlotta: Makeup remover... The super effective kind, you say?
Teena: ...?
Charlotta: I may have accidentally used too much and removed far more than just makeup...
Lecia: Charlotta?
Charlotta: Can you see...
Charlotta: What remains of my face?
Teena & Lecia: Aaaahhh!
The screaming doesn't continue for long.
Teena: Ahaha... I swear my heart stopped for a second.
Charlotta: I didn't think you both would react that strongly. My efforts to conquer my fears might have been misguided...
Lecia: What do you mean by that?
Charlotta: A true knight should not frighten so easily and mistake comrades for monsters.
Charlotta: Thus I attempted to don the visage of a deceased figure in hopes that it would alleviate some of my fears.
Garma: It was my idea to do so.
Garma: In my experience, people fear what they do not understand, and it is easy to use those fears against them.
Garma: I thought that if Charlotta were the one to strike fear instead, she would see there's nothing to be afraid of. But we seemed to have stirred up trouble instead...
Lecia: I'm pretty sure we were the ones who stirred up trouble first. Besides, it was kind of thrilling to be scared like that.
Garma: ...!
Teena: Wasn't it? I've never seen makeup done like that before.
Charlotta: I also learned quite a lot from this experience!
Charlotta: Teena. Lecia. I hope we can forgive one another.
Teena: Of course.
Lecia: Yes, we're sorry for the confusion.
Lucius: Heh, those three sure jumped the gun on Halloween activities.

Garma: I'm just glad I was of use.

Garma: I think I have something. It's not very special though.
He presents a bundle of soft-looking furs.
Garma: From beasts that live in the forest. I used them when I was hiding in the mountains.
Garma: But now I have no need for them. Perhaps you can use these as materials for whatever costume you decide on.
Vyrn: Huh... These do look kinda useful!
Lyria: They seem very soft and comfy too! Isn't that nice, (Captain)?

Suframare: Mm, amazing! Jasmine, your herb tea is spectacular!
Therese: It really is... Very warm with a nice scent.
Jasmine: Hehehe, thank you. I'm just happy you both decided to join me.
Therese: Being alone makes me feel uneasy, especially with all the screaming recently.
Jasmine: Halloween is very soon. I wonder if the ghosts are already up and about.
Therese: Eep!
Suframare: You have nothing to worry about, Therese. I've heard the frightening creatures walking about are actually other crew members.
Jasmine: Is that so? That would explain why the animals have remained calm.
Suframare: Elmott was telling me about how he saw Dante dressed up as a monster cat and almost mistook him for the real deal.
Suframare: Lucius also let me know the screaming we heard yesterday was Teena and Lecia being scared by Charlotta's new makeup job.
Jasmine: That certainly must have been some makeup job.
Therese: Their costumes all sound very good... I wonder if mine's going to cut it.
Suframare: Hehe, you'll be fine! You look good in everything you wear!
