  Event   Story

What Makes the Sky Blue is a side story. It commemorates the 3rd Birthday of Granblue Fantasy.

Quest progression from the February 2018 iteration of this event carries on to this side story.

This page contains major event story spoilers. Continue reading at your own discretion.

This event is part of the Archangel Saga.

Additionally, the following story events take place after the conclusion of part III.

The sky is falling.
Terror creeps into the heart,
and all one can do is pray.

After many millennia the very first primal beasts,
with their pasts stained in darkness,
take the stage once more.

And amid the pandemonium a girl in blue stands.
She must find her inner strength.
She must save the world.

For new players

Notable Rewards

  • Dark Flame Scion has an excellent Aura for brand new players of any element. Although it gets easily replaced by most summons obtained from Rotating Showdowns and by most 0★ Premium Draw summons, the Aura is still specifically good for newer players without a wide repertoire of elemental ATK boost Auras. If you plan on using Lyria often, note that using this summon will reset the cooldown of one of her skills.
  • Dominion Harp has an EXa.k.a "Unknown" or "UNK" big Light ATK boost weapon skill when upgraded to Lvl 100. Recommended if you don't have a Light EXa.k.a "Unknown" or "UNK" weapon yet. It is a decent, permanently-available Light mainhand for Superstar and Elysian.

"Which Bahamut Weapon should I get?"

Official Bahamut Weapon census data from the Granblue Fantasy 3rd Anniversary Livestream

Newer players have an amazing opportunity to obtain one free Bahamut Nova Weapon. These weapons provide large stat bonuses to characters depending on their race and are a staple in many late-game weapon grids. The Main Character, Unknown, and Primal race characters benefit from any Bahamut Weapon. The weapon you choose should be based on which character races you'll use more often.

In general, the Dagger is the most practical due to the overabundance of recruitable Human and Erune characters, but the Sword and Gun are viable first-picks as well, if you use Draph and Harvin characters often. The Spear and Axe are viable depending on your roster. Otherwise, the other unmentioned weapons are not recommended as a first-pick Bahamut Weapon.

Also, you may still obtain more than one Bahamut Weapon from the traditional process, so don't feel too anxious about your choice. Note that Bahamut Weapons of the same type do not stack and only the largest bonus will apply (e.g. Dagger + Dagger does not stack). Bahamut Weapons of differing types do stack, up to +50% in bonuses (e.g. Dagger + Sword stacks).

For more detailed information, see the Bahamut Weapons page.

New Character

Lyria (Event)

  • Role: Support
  • Has massive Charge Attack damage that can be boosted even further with her Extended Mastery Perks.
    • Can use her Charge Attack on the first turn by using her own skills to boost her charge bar.
  •  Life LinkCan call 2 summons per turn if Lyria is a main ally.
If the Main Character or Lyria reaches 0 HP: Both will be knocked out.
will allow 2 summons per turn if Lyria is a main ally.
  • Very flexible as her element is determined by the Main Character, and her buffs will allow her to contribute in nearly any situation.
  • Cannot normal attack, and will need to depend on her allies to gain charge bar consistently.

Voiced Trailer

Who-ah wo-wo-whoa, whoa whoa whoooa--
Who-ah wo-wo-whoa, yay yay yaaaaay!

Yes! First one's done!
Now, some different words for the second verse...

Hey-hey hey hey hey h-- hyaaaaaa!
D-did you hear that!?
If you're there, please say that you're there!

The thing is... lately... that is...
As we've been travelling with everyone, I've been thinking.
Isn't there anything more I could do?

And so, first thing, I made this fight song!
I hope it can cheer everyone up just a little bit!
Umm, and also, I thought maybe there were other things...

Next time, on Granblue Fantasy:
"What Makes the Sky Blue?"

T-there's also a special move for you I came up with!
May I? Here goes!
"PUNISHMENT FOR THE NAUGHTY!
GOGO CAPTAIN PUUUUUUNCH!"

Ehehe, if you like it, please use it!
