Big Bad Shadow 2022 - April Fool's 2022: Day 1
Vyrn?: Sigh... Boy, I'm pooped. It's like the floodgates of crazy opened the second the date changed.
Vyrn?: At times like these, I can always count on a nice, cozy ball shape to calm me down.
Vyrn?: Okay... I finally have April Fool's Day to myself again. But what should I do with it this year?
Vyrn?: With everybody gettin' so strong these days, people have been clearin' Blackhole difficulty left and right...
Vyrn?: Huh?
Pecorine: Hm-hm-hmm!
Pecorine, a member of the Gourmet Guild in a land called Landosol, has come to visit the Sky Realm.
Pecorine: Now if I can just find someone who seems friendly...
Pecorine: Oh!
Vyrn?: ...
Pecorine: Hello there, Mr. Strong-Looking Ball! Had any delicious meals lately?
Vyrn?: Uhh... Y'know, you look kinda familiar.
Pecorine: I'm sure I do! You see, I come from a place called Landosol.
Pecorine: My name is Pecorine, a proud member of the Gourmet Guild! I'm visiting the Sky Realm today for a certain reason!
Vyrn?: Reason? What kinda reason?
Pecorine: Well, as a matter of fact, a friend of mine created a game called "PriConne! Grand Masters."
Pecorine: I came to see if anyone in the Sky Realm would be interested in playing with us!
Vyrn?: I'm impressed you managed to just waltz into another world like that. How'd you even get here anyway?
Pecorine: Hmm... Good question! I was brought here by a kind passerby, so I honestly couldn't tell you.
Vyrn?: Normally you could only pull off a stunt like that with the power of a primal beast or somethin'...
Pecorine: Oh, I was told it was made possible by something called "April Fool's power."
Vyrn?: I don't like the sound of that. What was this "kind passerby" like exactly?
Pecorine: Umm... He didn't really have any distinctive features to speak of... I think.
Vyrn?: ...
Vyrn?: So this "April Fool's power" thing... Did that come with, like... an explanation or anything?
Pecorine: No, there wasn't one in particular. He seemed like the type who could make things happen by just going with the flow.
Vyrn?: ...
From Pecorine's vague description, it's clear that something is fishy. Who could be the one behind her appearance?
Vyrn?: Okay, I think I've got the gist of things. Seems like it'd be a bad idea to just let this slide...
Vyrn?: You're lookin' for somebody to play with you, right? In that case, count me in.
Vyrn?: I've got a bone to pick with this "kind passerby" anyway.
Pecorine: Yay, thank you! Of course—the more the merrier!

Vyrn?: There wasn't a single trace of that "kind passerby" who brought you here anywhere.
Pecorine: What a pickle. You won't be able to pick that bone at this rate, will you?
Vyrn?: Well, I guess it's no big deal as long as nothin' else happens.
After searching high and low, the pair are unable to locate the "kind passerby" that Pecorine had mentioned.
Pecorine: Huh? Who's that over there?
???: ...
Suddenly, they encounter an unfamiliar boy.
Vyrn?: Hey, kid. I haven't seen you around before. Where're you from?
Light Tenryu: I'm Light Tenryu. I just transferred here, so I must've taken a wrong turn...
Light Tenryu: By the way, what part of campus is this? The courtyard? Schoolyard? Or somewhere else?
Vyrn?: Huh? What're you talkin' about?
Light Tenryu: Oh, you're a transfer student too? I'm just wondering what area of Shadowverse Battle College we're in right now.
Both: ...
Vyrn?: I'm a transfer student? Wait, no... I've never even been to school in the first place.
Vyrn?: Feels like we're kinda talkin' past each other. How'd you wind up here, kid?
Light Tenryu: A Digital Friend like you saw I was lost and came over to help.
Light Tenryu: I thought I was following the path he showed me, but I guess I got turned around somewhere along the way...
Vyrn?: Uhh... So is this "Digital Friend" some kinda mascot character? Do you remember what he looked like?
Light Tenryu: Let's see... He was round overall, with horns and spikes sticking out here and there...
Vyrn?: Hmm... Okay. I'm gonna need you to tell me exactly how he described that path.
Light Tenryu: Uh... Sure, I don't mind. But why?
Vyrn?: Thanks. See, there's this guy I had a run-in with a while back. Seems like I'm gonna have to give him a talkin'-to.
Light Tenryu: A talking-to?
Vyrn?: That said, there's a chance things won't be settled that peacefully...
Light Tenryu: Huh. Well, if you don't think you guys can talk things out, I... probably shouldn't tell you.
Light Tenryu: I owe him for showing me the way, after all. And his eyes were so kind... or at least, I think they were.
Vyrn?: Sheesh, loyal to a fault, aren't ya? Guess there's only one way to do this...
Vyrn?: Let's battle it out, kid! And bring out the big guns! But if I win, you gotta give me the info, got it?
Light Tenryu: Battle? Oh, okay! You mean a Shadowverse match, right?
Light Tenryu: I've come all this way to the academy, so I can't back down now! Let's do this!
Vyrn?: Heh, that's what I like to hear! Sorry, but I'm not gonna hold back!
Light Tenryu: Sounds good to me! There's no point if we aren't going all out! Here goes!

Vyrn?: Haaah!
Light Tenryu: So this is Shadowverse, huh? I think I'm starting to get the hang of it!
Light Tenryu: Guarding this turn! I play Rahab!
Light finds himself up against the wall as the battle rages on. With his followers destroyed, things look increasingly grim.
Pecorine: Things are really heating up! Good luck, you two!
Light Tenryu: My turn again! Draw!
Light Tenryu: Huh?
Vyrn?: Heh. What's wrong, kid? Not gonna play any followers?
Light Tenryu: (I can't use any of my followers at the moment... What do I do now?)
Vyrn?: Well, if you're just gonna stand there, then I'll go first!
Vyrn?: Hyaaah!
Light Tenryu: Oh no!
Vyrn?: Wh-what the!
Light Tenryu: What's going on?
???: Once again, I find myself in another strange world.
Vyrn?: Tch. There's just no end to you guys! Who are you supposed to be?
Rowen: The name's Rowen Dragespear. Who might you be? And why are you here?
Vyrn?: Sorry to disappoint, but even I don't know the answer to that one. Mm... Let's just say I was summoned to this world.
Rowen: I see.
Rowen: We seem to be in the same boat. That being the case, I'd prefer to settle this with words rather than by force.
Rowen: However, I'm more than willing to face you if you're looking for a fight. Just know that I won't show any mercy.
Vyrn?: Huh? Y-yeah. Okay, fine...
Rowen: I appreciate it.
Rowen: I see. It seems someone was working behind the scenes to bring us here to this alternate world.
Light Tenryu: Alternate world... Like an offshoot of the academy or something?
Vyrn?: Uhh... No, not even close.
Vyrn?: How do I put this... This is a totally different world from yours. I mean, look around. See the floating islands?
Light Tenryu: ...!
Pecorine: Munch, munch...
Oh? Were you confused about where we were this whole time, Light?

Light Tenryu: Guess so. Wow... I can't believe this is another world. I have stuff to do back at the academy though...
Vyrn?: Yeah... I have a feelin' you're gonna run into problems if you don't make it back by the end of the week at least.
Vyrn?: Betcha whoever brought you guys here knows how to send you home. Too bad we dunno where to find him...
Rowen: I might have an idea, actually.
Vyrn?: Wait, seriously?
Rowen: As I was roaming this world, I heard a strange rumor.
Rowen: An enormous castle apparently appeared out of nowhere, and it's simply floating in the sky, doing nothing.
Vyrn?: Yep, that's gotta be it. Well, time's a tickin', so I'm gonna go check it out.
Light Tenryu: I'll go with you. I've got to get back so I can do my academy tour.
Pecorine: A flying castle...
Pecorine: That sounds like a place where they'd serve all sorts of amazing food!
Rowen: In that case, let's head there together. To the flying castle—otherwise known as the "Invincible Fortress"!

Rowen: Finally. I was starting to think we'd never make it here.
Rowen: In fact, it feels like I've spent the better part of my journey traveling these skies.
Rowen: Ngh... This heat is extreme! I didn't expect the trip here to be quite so grueling!
Light Tenryu: ...
Vyrn?: H-hey! What's wrong, kid?
Light Tenryu: Sorry... I'm so thirsty... I don't think I can... take another step...
Vyrn?: What're you talkin' about! You can't give up now! If somethin' happens to you here, your world'll be in big trouble!
Rowen: Damn it all... We've run out of potable water! We've got to find something he can drink!
Pecorine: Oh, Rowen! I see something we can use over there!
Rowen: Great!
Vyrn?: Hang in there just a little longer, kid. Here, I'll be your fan and keep you cool 'til they get back.
Light Tenryu: Huff... Huff...

Pecorine: We're back! And with the solution in hand!
Rowen: This was growing nearby. It should contain a lot of water.
Pecorine: I'm sure it'll quench your thirst. So go on, eat up!

Vyrn?: What the! Wh-what's the deal?
Light Tenryu: This is radish... like you put in a stew...
Rowen: What! I didn't realize it had such a strong flavor! This is enough to make anyone gag!
Rowen: On countless occasions, the thought of giving up crossed my mind. But each time, I remembered the faces of my family...
Vyrn?: Hold it! What the heck is this flashback?
???: I mean, I was getting tired of waiting, you know?
Pecorine: Hey, it's him! He's the one who led me to this world!
???: Hiya, guys! I was wondering when you'd get here!
Vyrn?: Who the heck are you!
Vyrn? 2: Yeesh. What kinda greeting is that?
Light Tenryu: ...!

Vyrn? 2: Long time no see. It's been, what? Six years?
Vyrn?: Hey, you're that fake me from strip #370 of "Grand Blues!" No way! But I thought...
Vyrn? 2: Heh-heh. Oh, stop it with that reaction. You're gonna make me blush.
Rowen: Enough. Sorry, but we don't have time to stand here talking. We need you to send us back to our worlds.
Vyrn? 2: Oh yeah? Well, if you want me to do what you say...
Vyrn? 2: You gotta make me!
All Four: ...!
Rowen: What! There are... two of them!
Pecorine: I-I can't tell which one's the bad guy anymore!
Light Tenryu: Argh! At this rate...
Vyrn?: ...
Vyrn? 2: So what're you gonna do now that you can't tell friend from foe? Heh heh...
Vyrn? 2: Bwahahaha!
Vyrn?: Haaaaah!
Vyrn? 2: ...
Vyrn?: Get outta here, you fake! I'll beat you as many times as it takes.
Pecorine: Y-you defeated him!
Light Tenryu: Huh? There are cracks opening up all over the place!
Vyrn?: Oh, don't worry. I'm guessin' that just means this is all over.
Rowen: This long and arduous battle has finally come to an end.
Vyrn?: Yep. And we're already three days past the first of April. Pretty sure we were reachin' our limit here.
Pecorine: Oh? Wait, this light...
Pecorine: Sniff, sniff...
Pecorine: I knew it! I smell a familiar scent!
Light Tenryu: I can see the outline of the academy through this light over here!
Rowen: So if we each go through our own light, we can return to our original worlds. Thanks for the help.
Vyrn?: Heh, don't worry about it. I was just tryin' to set things right.
Pecorine: Well, it was fun, everyone! I hope we can all play together again sometime!
All Three: See you again!
Vyrn?: Yeesh. April Fool's was all over the place this year.
Vyrn?: But, eh... I guess that wasn't too bad for somethin' different.
And so...
After an eventful start, April Fool's Day quietly comes to a close.
Thus, peace—in a relative sense—returns to the Sky Realm.

Vyrn?: Everything got tied up in a neat little bow, but... somethin' still feels off...
This April Fool's Day had been even stranger than in previous years.
The Sky Realm had been linked to several alternate worlds simultaneously, and an enemy from the past had even appeared.
Vyrn?: Wonder what's gonna happen next year? I'd work on bulkin' up before then...
Somewhere in the skies, a shadow can be seen slowly moving its arms, which had transformed into dumbbells...
