A Soul Reaper and captain of Squad 6 of the Thirteen Court Guard Squads. He is nobility in the world of Soul Reapers, Soul Society, and wears hair accessories known as Kenseikan and a white scarf known as the Windflower Silk Scarf as proof of his noble lineage and to denote him as the head of the Kuchiki clan.
The Zanpakuto he wields is called Senbonzakura, and when he unleashes its power, its blade transforms into thousands of smaller blades resembling petals. His Bankai, Senbonzakura Kageyoshi, transforms the blade into countless petals far surpassing the number seen from Senbonzakura. By manipulating the blades, Byakuya shut down Sakunagi's devastating attack using thousands of beams.
