Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Opening

(Captain) and company visit Aliza's parents at their home and find a grimoire describing the origins of the phoenix techniques. The crew decides to visit the temple mentioned in the book that's located on Tahar Island. Meanwhile, Stan also arrives at the temple and encounters a woman who reads him a love poem.

It's a bright and sunny day.
(Captain) and company have taken on a request to transport some cargo to Fremel Island.
Once the job is finished, Aliza decides to stop by her hometown and pay a visit to her parents together with the crew.
After listening to her mother Alicia's small talk and her father's mention of seeing a grimoire on phoenix techniques, Aliza heads to her grandfather's archives.
Aliza: Grimoire, grimoire... Oh, Mr. Grimoire of Phoenix Techniques, where are yooou!
While she browses volume after volume among the clutter, Aliza accidentally knocks over a stack of books.
Aliza: Cough, cough! Ugh, it's so dusty in here!
Aliza: Grandpa was way too messy... No wonder this place's been neglected for so long.
Thinking to let in some air, Aliza opens the window and finds the crew just outside.
Aliza: Huh? What's everyone doing here?
Vyrn: Well, you said you were gonna go dig up the book and rushed off just like that, but...
Alicia: How many books are in the archives, you ask? Hmm... I'd say about thirty to forty thousand.
Vyrn: That's what your mom told us. There's no way one person can look through all that, so we came to help!
Aliza: I couldn't ask you guys to do that! Just take it easy and have a chat with my mom.
Lyria: You're the one who should be taking it easy, Aliza! You're finally back home after all.
Aliza: You guys are just too sweet!
Aliza: I'll take you up on your offer then! Let's find the book together and get something to eat after.
And so the crew begin their search for the grimoire on phoenix techniques.
However, as it turns out, there are a lot more books in the archives than (Captain) had imagined.
Aliza: Haha, surprised?
Vyrn: I thought I was ready for this, but man, there's just so many of 'em!
Aliza: My grandpa loved reading. Both a literary and military kind of guy, you know?
Aliza: But he wasn't very good at keeping things tidy...
Aliza: Whenever he finished a book, he'd leave it on the side and the books just kept stacking up. Watch your step, 'kay?
Lyria: Okay! Have to watch where we're going so we don't trip over any—
Lyria: Eek!
Lyria stumbles over some books scattered on the ground and falls over.
Vyrn: Can't say I didn't see that coming... You okay?
Lyria: Ouch... I'm so sorry, I ended up knocking over your precious books.
Aliza: Don't worry about it! It's Grandpa who made it such a mess in the first place.
Lyria gives an apologetic smile. Vyrn starts picking up the books Lyria knocked over and finds an especially old and musty one among them.
Vyrn: This one sure is flashy... Look, (Captain), there's even a gilded dragon on the cover!
Vyrn: Let's open it up and see... What the? It's all pictures of an old guy in weird poses.
(Captain) takes the old book from Vyrn and examines it.
Thinking the poses depicted look somewhat familiar, (Captain) passes the book to Aliza.
Aliza: Hm?
Aliza opens it up and gives a loud cry.
Aliza: Oh!
She looks increasingly surprised as she turns the pages.
Aliza: Wow! This is it!
Aliza: This is the book that Mama was talking about! The grimoire on phoenix techniques!
As it turns out, Aliza is the reason why the poses in the book looked familiar. They are the same stances that Aliza makes when she fights using her phoenix techniques.
Aliza: Whoa...
Aliza's eyes light up in wonder as she turns page after page.
According to the book, phoenix techniques originate from the martial arts practiced by monks at a certain temple.
The monks developed their martial arts into a fighting style to defend themselves from enemies, keeping their hands together in prayer as they fought.
Aliza: I didn't know that there was meaning to each stance. This really changes things...
Aliza: The origins of phoenix techniques, huh? I wonder how those people at the temple train.
  1. Wanna go check it out?

Choose: Wanna go check it out?
Aliza: Haha! I would if I could. Then I'd get them to practice with me!
Lyria: Where exactly is this temple?
Aliza: Let's see...
Aliza's shoulders sag in disappointment when she finds the page with details on the temple.
Aliza: It says it's located on Tahar Island, which is further down from Fremel Island on the southern tip of Valtz.
Why is it Tahar Island of all places...
Vyrn: If it's within Valtz, then it shouldn't be too far, right?
Aliza: Tahar Island is known for its sandstorms. They come very suddenly and blow across the entire island.
Aliza: I hear that if you get caught in a sandstorm, it's almost impossible to make it through unscathed even if you have a skilled helmsman with you.
Aliza: That's why even merchants only visit Tahar Island once every few years.
Aliza: Even though it's in Valtz, it just feels far away.
Aliza looks longingly at the book, imagining what it would be like to learn the origins of phoenix techniques.
Vyrn: But since merchants go in and out from time to time, that means there is a way to get there, right?
Vyrn: I don't know what this sandstorm thing is all about, but the Grandcypher should be just fine. Even Tiamat's winds couldn't bring it down!
Aliza: I know, but...
Aliza: I don't want to drag everyone with me just because of something I'm interested in.
Vyrn: What are you talkin' about! You're gonna learn about all kinds of stuff, then train and come back stronger, aren't ya?
Aliza: Yeah.
Aliza: Stan and I made a promise. We're gonna keep training and then spar the next time we see each other.
Sensing her strong determination, (Captain) offers to help Aliza fulfill her wish.
Aliza: You guys really look out for me, huh?
Lyria: That's because we're friends! You don't have to hold back when you're with us, Aliza!
Aliza: Thanks, everyone.
Thus, seeking the long-forgotten origins of phoenix techniques, (Captain) and company set their sights on Tahar Island, located in the far south of Valtz Duchy.
They head into town to ask for advice from merchants who have experience with getting to Tahar Island.
On the other hand—
A skyskimmer rides the current of a forming sandstorm and makes a landing on Tahar Island.
???: ...
Merchant: Hahaha! You doin' all right there, young man? It's on the tame side today, ya know!
Merchant: When it gets really bad, you won't even have time to feel sick!
???: Wow... I didn't see that coming.
???: Riding a current you should be avoiding... That's some amazing skill!
Merchant: You might think it's crazy, but that's just how you deal with the currents here.
Merchant: The trick is not to fight against the currents, and just surrender to 'em. Anythin' else won't work in this sandstorm.
Merchant: Just when you think you can close in on it, it goes wild and knocks you off-balance.
Merchant: Then the current upends your ship, smashes it to pieces, and it's game over.
Merchant: So, what business do you have at Tahar Temple? You gonna be a monk or somethin'?
???: Haha, no way!
???: I heard the monks training at the temple here are really devoted to their training, so I thought maybe I could have a sparring match or two with them.
Merchant: You came all the way 'ere to Tahar just for that? Talk about commitment... You go show 'em what you've got, young man!
By chance or by fate, Stan also learns of Tahar Temple and arrives on the island in search of it.
Stan: Blegh! All the sand is getting in my mouth...
Stan: But the guy was right when he said I wouldn't be needing any directions to the temple.
Amidst the swirling sandstorms, Tahar Temple stands in the middle of the island, towering over everything else. Stan stares at it, his heart pounding.
He musters up the courage to march onward, all the while tripping in the sand.
Shortly after, Stan arrives in front of Tahar Temple.
A terribly fatigued woman resting in the shade of a rock catches his eye.
???: ...
Stan: Um, are you all right? Is there anything I can help you with?
???: Huh?
Stan: Oh, um... I just thought you were in trouble or something.
???: To offer your assistance to a person such as myself, who is but a stranger...
???: Ahh, how you overflow with such benevolence! It is you, isn't it? Oh, it must be! It cannot be otherwise!
Stan: Wait, what?
???: "My heart, behold its dance

Hark the bell and its ring
From your very first glance
As this flower in the spring

Reaches full bloom in Tahar"
Stan: Um...
???: Yes. 'Tis a poem of love.
Stan: L-love?
Stan stands perplexed as the woman he had just met whispers a love poem to him.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 1: The Gallant Wanderer - Episode 1

The crew overcomes the sandstorms and arrives on Tahar Island. There they meet Attiyah, a traveler in search of a woman whom he fell in love with at first sight. With the same destination in mind, Attiyah joins the crew on their way to the temple.

The crew receives instructions on how to make a safe landing from a merchant with experience traveling to Tahar Island.
But it is a task more easily said than done.
The trick is to circle around the island and wait for a sandstorm to form, then plunge into it once the chance presents itself.
All that's left to do is to surrender to the current—or so the crew is told.
But there is another reason why merchants avoid frequent visits to Tahar.
Vyrn: Bleeegh...
Lyria: Ergh... I still feel like I'm being tossed around... Yikes!
Aliza: Well, we made it here in one piece, but this is definitely a trip I wouldn't wanna make again if I could help it...
Thanks to Alicia, Aliza is comfortably clothed in attire suited to the Tahar climate.
However, despite their safe arrival at Tahar Island, they find themselves feeling incredibly sick from the bumpy ride.
After taking some time to rest, (Captain) and company begin to walk toward the towering Tahar Temple located in the middle of the island.
Lyria: Even though we're still in Valtz Duchy, it feels so different here.
Aliza: Yeah. Not a lot of people visit either, so the culture here is rather unique.
Vyrn: Whoa... I've never seen buildings like these before. That's pretty cool!
Lyria: Is there anything else that's different other than the buildings? Like... food, maybe?
Just then, the crew hear a low rumble coming in from behind them.
They turn around to see what the sound is.
???: W-w-whoa there!
???: Hey, you there! Get outta the way! Incooomiiing!
A brawny man riding on a vehicle comes into sight. The vehicle recklessly plunges past the crew, kicking up clouds of sand.
???: Waaaah!
In all its momentum, the vehicle crashes into a large rock.
???: Ouuuch...
???: Sorry 'bout that! Hey, you guys doin' okay?
Vyrn: That's what we wanna ask! Your head's bleeding!
???: Huh? Oh... Ah well, a little spit shine and it'll be fine.
Lyria: Um, you should give it some proper treatment...
???: Hahaha! Happens all the time, don't worry 'bout it!
???: I mean, check out this bod. A little blood won't even count as a scatch!
The man laughs cheerfully and flexes his muscles in good humor.
He checks his vehicle and breathes a sigh of relief, satisfied to see it still working.
Vyrn: Hey, that's a gearcycle, isn't it?
???: You know your stuff, don't ya! How didja get to know 'bout gearcycles?
Vyrn: Back during a brief stint when I was playin' Bad Boy Vyrn! Riding around on it with my buddies at night...
???: That's awesome! I'm havin' juuust a bit of trouble gettin' it under control. Doesn't stop when you want it to, ya know?
Vyrn: You put too much weight in the back and did a wheelie back there, didn't ya?
Vyrn: You only had the rear brake going for you—that's why it didn't stop and ended up crashing!
???: Whew!
???: You a genius or somethin'? Saw through everythin' just like that!
Vyrn: Aw, cut it out! You're embarrassin' me!
Vyrn: Anyway, are gearcycles a thing here too?
???: I've no idea. I'm not from 'round here.
???: I'm just... your regular merchant lookin' to sell some goods here. Barely arrived myself.
Attiyah: Speaking of which, I haven't introduced myself yet, huh?
The name's Attiyah. Nice to meet ya!
The crew introduce themselves in turn and explain their journey to Attiyah.
Attiyah: Well, whaddya know. I've heard stories, but I'd no idea they had gearcycles like that at Mysteria. That's why you're such an expert.
Vyrn: Heheh, I can tell you all about how to ride one too!
Attiyah: Really grateful for the offer, but I'm afraid it's goodbye for me and this gearcycle today.
Vyrn: Huh? Are you here to sell it?
Attiyah: Nah, this ride here isn't mine to sell, or even mine in the first place. It's somethin' someone left behind.
Attiyah: I'm on my way to Tahar Temple to return it to its owner.
Aliza: Wait, does the owner of that gearcycle happen to be a monk training at Tahar Temple?
Aliza: If that's the case, then I wanna meet this person too.
Attiyah: Nope, I don't think she's a monk. She might not even be at the temple.
Attiyah: I was just thinkin' that maybe there's a chance she'd be there...
Attiyah whispers this wistfully with a faraway look in his eyes.
Intrigued, (Captain) asks Attiyah if something had happened.
Attiyah: I met a goddess on an island near Port Breeze.
Attiyah: I'm not talkin' about a primal beast.
Even if there was a primal beast that governed beauty, it wouldn't hold a candle to her.
Attiyah: My heart's throbbin' just thinkin' back to it. Kinda embarassing for a fella like myself, but it was love at first sight.
Blushing, he slowly pulls out a ribbon from his pocket and smiles.
Attiyah: Ya know, when I met the divine young lady by coincidence, she left me with a poem.
Vyrn: A poem?
Attiyah: I've heard that the people of Tahar like to turn stuff that leaves an impression on them into poetry.
Attiyah clears his throat, and begins to recite the young lady's poem in a loud and clear voice.
Attiyah: "My heart, behold its dance

Hark the bell and its ring
From your very first glance
As this flower in the spring

Reaches full bloom in Tahar"
Aliza: "From your very first glance"... Hey, isn't that what you'd call a love poem?
Attiyah: Right? You think so too, huh?
Attiyah: There was so much passion in her words... I can't just sit here and do nothin'!
Aliza: Yeah! Definitely!
Attiyah: I looked into it before comin' here, and in Tahar, it looks like "bell" usually refers to the one at the temple.
Attiyah: I thought, maybe she wanted us to meet at the temple... and that's how I came here.
Aliza: So you rode through the sandstorms just to come meet this person...
Aliza: Hehe, that's so romantic.
Attiyah: And it ain't over yet. I missed the chance to ask for her name, so all I have to work off of is this poem.
Vyrn: That's a tough one... Prospects are looking pretty grim, huh?
Aliza: But this poem connects the two of them! I'm sure they'll meet again!
Attiyah: You think? Thanks, miss!
Vyrn: Well, looks like we're headed for the same place.
C'mon, Mustache Mister. We should go together!
Lyria: Not to mention, I'm interested to see how this love story turns out... Aren't you, (Captain)?
(Captain) nods and asks Attiyah to join them on their way to the temple.
Attiyah's mouth curves into a toothy grin as he accepts, commenting on how every encounter is a fated encounter.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 1: The Gallant Wanderer - Episode 2

Stan is mistakenly led to a house by the woman he encountered at the temple and meets a young lady called Tabina. When Tabina is devastated that Stan is not the man she had been waiting for, Stan is touched by Tabina's strong feelings for her beloved and asks to hear her story.

After whispering a love poem to Stan in front of the temple, the woman leads him to a wealthy-looking home on the outskirts of town.
Stan: Hey, listen... You better tell me right now why you brought me all the way out here!
???: Oh my! Don't be shy now, you know why!
???: Miss Tabina! I've brought him with me!
Stan: Miss... Tabina?
Tabina: ...!
A merchant's daughter by the name of Tabina bursts into the room in excitement.
Tabina: Ahhh!
Stan: Huh?
Tabina: It's the wrong guy again! Who's this, and what's with the dumb look on his face?
Stan: D-dumb look? Now hold on a minute! I don't even know you!
Tabina's Maid: My deepest apologies, Miss Tabina. This traveler exhibited a response to your love poem, so I assumed he was the one...
Tabina: I don't want to hear any excuses! I just want to see my beloved, and be released from this suffering...
Tabina: Traveler. My apologies for disrupting your journey. You may be on your way now.
Stan: Well, if you don't have any business with me, I'll just get going then...
Stan gives a slight bow and awkwardly exits the room.
Tabina: Waaah, wah, wah...
Tabina's Maid: Oh, Miss Tabina, my most heartfelt sympathies...
Tabina: Cough! Cough, cough!
Stan: Sigh...
Overhearing Tabina's crying from the hallway, Stan reenters the room.
Stan: Um...
Tabina: Sigh...
Tabina lets out a long sigh and slowly falls into her chair.
Stan: Hey, uh... You wanna tell me about it?
Tabina's Maid: My apologies, perhaps another time...
Tabina: Siiigh...
Tabina lets out another wavering sigh and gazes out the window dejectedly. Seeing this, Stan feels a sense of sympathy stirring inside himself.
Stan: Sigh...
Stan: It began just after I'd decided to separate myself from Aliza.
Stan: It was a pain different from the anguish that accompanied the rampant Llana's Disease... An incredibly helpless feeling.
Stan: Siiigh... What a doozy it was...
Stan: My lamenting sighs... and my face, expressionless like never before...
Stan: (Miss... I know... I know how you feel!)
Stan: Hey, about that love poem earlier...
Stan: It was something meant for your beloved, wasn't it?
Tabina: Stop... What do you know? We've only just met!
Stan: Let's see. You have no appetite.
Tabina: Oh!
Stan: And you can't sleep.
Tabina: Oh!
Stan: Your body feels weak. You can't stop sighing. And the face of your beloved is in everything you look at.
Tabina: Oh! Oh! Oh!
Tabina's Maid: Please, stop it! Miss Tabina's heart won't be able to take it!
Tabina: Leave this instant...
Stan: Miss Tabina!
Tabina: ...
Stan: Not being able to see your beloved is a miserable feeling.
Tabina: Could it be that you...
Stan: It's true that we've only just met, but I know what you're going through. I'm the same.
Tabina: You are?
Seeing Stan's display of empathy, Tabina calms down and shyly begins to tell her story.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 1: The Gallant Wanderer - Episode 3

Tabina tells Stan about her romantic encounter with a man near Port Breeze. After their conversation was interrupted by her father, Tabina had written a poem and given it to the man in hopes of reuniting with him someday. Stan promises to help find the man, but is warned to keep it a secret from Tabina's father, leader of the merchants' guild Ahabak.

Tabina: It was several days ago. I had traveled to an island near Port Breeze.
Tabina: I was in the middle of hunting on my gearcycle.
Wyvern: Screech!
Tabina: Hah! You think you can escape me?
Tabina: I nocked an arrow and was ready to take down my prey, when suddenly...
Rabbit: Squeak, squeak!
Tabina: Ahh, a rabbit!
Tabina: Ouch...
Wyvern: Screeeech!
Tabina: Aww, look what happened!
Rabbit: Squeak!
Tabina: Hehe. Well, I'm glad you're safe, little one. Go on.
Rabbit: Squeak, squeak!
???: Are you all right, miss?
Tabina: Hm?
Tabina: Suddenly, I heard a gentle voice from behind me.
Tabina: I turned around, and before I knew it, my face was buried in his chest...
Stan: What?
Tabina: I suppose I got caught up in the moment, and it just... happened.
Tabina: ...!
???: Haha. You're quite the tomboy for a lady as beautiful as yourself.
Tabina: Ohhh!
Tabina: (Ahh, that smile. So bright, he's practically glowing...)
Tabina: (And that chest. So strong and sturdy!)
???: Ah, looks like you grazed your knee. Here, let me take a look.
Tabina: He took out an ointment from his bag and gently treated my wound.
Tabina: Oh, how kind he was! How compassionate!
Tabina: On top of that, he even looked at my gearcycle for me...
???: I've been a merchant for quite some time, ya know, but it's my first time seein' somethin' as curious as this vehicle.
Tabina: It's something I bought at Mysteria called a gearcycle.
???: So you pedal with your feet, and the vehicle is propelled by its two wheels...
???: Wait, don't tell me there's magic involved with this gear?
Tabina: That's right. I'm surprised you could tell from just your first time looking at it!
???: Heheh. I might be a merchant, but I do get asked to fix things from time to time.
???: All right... I gave it some temporary repairs. So as long you don't put the pedal to the metal, it should do just fine.
Tabina: How can I ever repay you...
???: Don't worry 'bout it!
Tabina: (Ohhh! So bright!)
Tabina: S-so, how long will you be staying he—
???: My little kitteeen! Where are yooou?
Tabina: ...!
Tabina: Just as I was about to ask his plans for the day, I heard Daddy's voice calling for me. Oh, the timing couldn't be worse!
Tabina: Daddy loves to dote on me, you see...
Tabina: If he were to see me with a stranger—and a man, no less—he'd be enraged!
Tabina: Sigh. I must go...
Tabina: I turned to return to Daddy's side, but my hair got caught in something.
???: ...
Tabina: U-um...
Tabina: I untied the ribbon in my hair, and praying that we would meet again, wrote my wish on the ribbon.
Tabina: "My heart, behold its dance

Hark the bell and its ring
From your very first glance
As this flower in the spring

Reaches full bloom in Tahar"
Tabina: Um... please, take this.
???: What?
Tabina: Goodbye!
???: Hey, wait! Your gearcycle...
Tabina: How could I have been so careless? In my haste, I'd forgotten to ask for his name...
Stan: Not to mention your gearcycle...
Tabina's Maid: Miss! I will most definitely bring this man to you, I promise...
Tabina: No, no more. He may be a merchant, but it's unlikely that he'll come all the way to Tahar.
Tabina: Crying and waiting like this every day... I'm the one who's idling away my time and fate.
Tabina: You must be tired as well. Leave me and rest.
Tabina's Maid: As you wish...
Stan watches Tabina's maid retreat sadly, and moves to stand in front of Tabina.
Stan: You know... I can go find him. The guy you're looking for.
Tabina: No. I appreciate the offer, but I imagine you have your own tasks to take care of, coming all the way here to Tahar.
Stan: S'okay, I'm not really in a hurry. Besides... I can't just leave someone going through the same things as me alone!
Tabina: You... You're not really my type, but a nice person nonetheless.
Stan: Haha, I could say the same. You're pretty cheeky.
Tabina: Can I ask a favor?
If you ever meet my daddy, you must keep this matter a secret.
Tabina: If he ever finds out, I don't know what he'll do!
Stan: Can you give me an idea of who your father is? I'll keep a lookout.
Tabina: His name is Wahid, and he's the head of a merchants' guild called Ahabak. There's always a lot of people around him, so you should be able to tell right away.
Stan: Got it. You can leave the rest to me.
Stan: So... don't worry too much, and make sure to get some food and rest, 'kay?
Tabina: Hehe. I'm looking forward to hearing good news from you, traveler.
And so, Stan embarks on his new mission of looking for a traveling merchant without as much as a hint on his whereabouts.
Albeit a reckless promise, Stan just can't help but see himself in the lovesick Tabina.
He prays that Tabina's wish will come true, and that she and her beloved will be reunited once more.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 1: The Gallant Wanderer - Episode 4

The crew and Attiyah arrive at Tahar Temple, where Aliza is disappointed to find little connection to her phoenix techniques. However, upon realizing that the Mt. Nahlakri located behind the temple is the same as the mountain pictured in the book, the crew decides to pay it a visit.

Monks-in-Training: Hah! Hi-yah!
Monks-in-Training: Rrrraaah!
Hundreds of monks are lined up in the temple courtyard, practicing the movements in their training routine again and again.
The crew and Attiyah arrive at Tahar Temple and are overwhelmed by the sight.
Vyrn: Whoa... That's a lotta people!
Aliza: Is this the martial art that the phoenix techniques originated from?
Aliza: My body's already itching for some action! Let's see who wants to spar!
Attiyah: Hahaha! They might think you're an enemy if you suddenly went up to 'em askin' for a fight.
Attiyah: How 'bout you go find their leader and introduce yourself first?
Aliza: Haha, you're right, Attiyah.
???: Why, hello there. Welcome to Tahar.
A monk dressed in elegant attire abruptly appears in front of the crew. He puts his hands together and gives a deep bow.
(Captain) and the crew do the same.
Head Monk: I am the head monk here at Tahar Temple.
Head Monk: It really has been a long time since we've had visitors on this island. We warmly welcome you.
Head Monk: Now, travelers. Since you decided to brave the sandstorms and came all this way...
Head Monk: May I assume that you have an interest in our temple? There isn't much else in this town after all.
Aliza: Yep! We're interested in what the monks are training i—
Head Monk: Well then! Allow me to explain the history of our religion that spans over hundreds of years, and how this main temple came to be.
Aliza: Oh, uh... all right.
Delighted with the rare visitors, the head monk proceeds with his lecture, leaving no room for Aliza to ask any questions.
Head Monk: At this temple, we worship the god Tahar. The sacred artifact to which we pay our respects rests over there in our place of worship.
Tahar Islander 1: O Tahar, hear my prayer! Appease the anger within me!
Last night, my wife ate my portion of fruit without asking...
Tahar Islander 2: O Tahar, hear my prayer! Appease the anger within me!
I cannot forgive myself for buying a shirt before it went on sale...
Head Monk: As you can see, our god is one that purifies the evil thoughts within each of us.
Vyrn: Evil thoughts? Just sounds like complaining to me... So your god listens to all this, huh?
Head Monk: Correct! Our god is one of kindness and utmost compassion!
Head Monk: The doctrine we follow in order to protect our god Tahar states that the truth of the world lies just beyond the state of selflessness.
Head Monk: That is why we train our mind, skill, and body through martial arts in pursuit of the truth.
Head Monk: And in this regard... have you noticed?
The head monk directs the crew's attention back to the monks in their martial training.
Aliza: It's a martial art that uses only feet and not hands.
Head Monk: Yes! That's it! As to why our techniques use only the feet...
Head Monk: We defend ourselves from evildoers as we keep our hands together and continue offering our prayers to the sacred artifact!
Aliza: The phoenix techniques that I use also—
Head Monk: Not to mention!
Attiyah: Hahaha! You might wanna hold back 'til the head monk's done with his talkin'.
Aliza: Ahaha...
Head Monk: Here on Tahar Island, there is a long-standing merchants' guild called Ahabak.
Head Monk: Whenever the guild travels to another place for business, monks from our temple accompany them as guards!
Head Monk: And then...
As the head monk continues his lengthy explanation, Aliza watches the training monks closely.
Monks-in-Training: Hah! Hi-yah!
Monks-in-Training: Rrrraaah!
Aliza: ...
As she watches, Aliza realizes that although the monks' movements resemble phoenix techniques at first glance, they are, in fact, something different.
Aliza: Um, excuse me! Mr. Head Monk?
Head Monk: Oh, what is it?
Aliza: Are the martial arts everyone's practicing different from phoenix techniques?
Head Monk: Phoenix techniques, you say?
Aliza: They're part of a school of martial arts I learned when I was little. It says in this grimoire that they originate from Tahar Temple.
Aliza hands the old book to the head monk. His expression turns into one of surprise.
Head Monk: To think that something like this existed! Indeed, it appears our techniques and stances are recorded in this book...
Aliza: The grimoire had lots of techniques I didn't know. I want to learn them so I can master my phoenix techniques...
Aliza: No—not just master them, but go beyond mastering them! Please, teach me the arts of this temple!
Head Monk: Unfortunately, what we use is an art without a name, something different from your phoenix techniques.
Aliza: Huh?
Head Monk: I imagine that phoenix techniques are something adapted from the art without a name by a monk who had left the temple.
Head Monk: It is unfortunate, but there are none here who know the secrets of this book.
Aliza: I see...
(Captain) takes the book from the monk and is startled by the picture on the open page.
Depicted is a mountain in the exact image of what quietly loomed just behind the temple.
Aliza, who had been feeling dejected just a moment ago, hears this from (Captain) and regains her composure.
Aliza: Mr. Head Monk! That mountain...
Head Monk: That is the sacred mountain, Mt. Nahlakri.
Head Monk: It is said to be a spiritual place that holds a mysterious power. In the past, monks went there to train in seclusion.
Head Monk: But due to the frequent sandstorms, I'm afraid it has become a deserted place...
Head Monk: Moreover, rumors of a strange, wailing voice at night began to spread. Nowadays, no one dares to approach the mountain.
Lyria: A strange, wailing voice...
Head Monk: It was once said that those who overcome the trials of Nahlakri can perfect their techniques. But now...
Aliza: Perfect their techniques?
Aliza: We gotta check it out! Come on, (Captain), we can't have come all this way for nothing!
  1. Of course!
  2. Are you gonna be okay, Lyria?

Choose: Of course!
Aliza: Thanks, (Captain). Hehe, things are starting to get interesting!

Choose: Are you gonna be okay, Lyria?
Lyria: Huh? Oh, yes! I am a little worried about the strange wailing, but... I'll be fine!
Aliza: Don't worry! I'll keep you safe!

With this new lead on the history of the monks and their techniques, the crew gets ready to venture to the sacred mountain of Mt. Nahlakri.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 2: A Contender's Limits - Episode 1

Stan arrives at Tahar Temple to find Aliza and the others talking to the head monk. He hurries to hide, but his suspicious behavior catches Attiyah's attention. Attiyah realizes that Stan is in love with Aliza and decides to help him.

Rewinding just a little—
Head Monk: Yes!
Stan: ...!
Stan: (W-wait a second! Why is Aliza here? And with (Captain) and the others too!)
Stan: (Who's that big guy anyway? A local guide or something?)
Stan arrives at Tahar Temple in search of Tabina's beloved, only to find (Captain) and company already there.
While the crew are preoccupied, Stan runs to conceal himself before they see him.
He presses a hand to his chest and sighs as his mind fills with thoughts of Aliza.
The golden flower he couldn't give to Aliza before, now a pressed flower, rests in his pocket.
Stan: Am I truly worthy of you in my present state?
Aliza: I don't know... How am I supposed to know something like that...
Aliza: That's not something I can answer right now...
Stan: But, I... I love you, Aliza.
Aliza: ...!
Stan: I love you more than anything, but... I'm not yet worthy of you. I cannot make you happy!
Stan: So that's why I can't yet give you this flower. It would be disrespectful to Druj.
And with those words, Stan tucks the flower away in his pocket.
And then, without a word, Stan turns around and starts walking.
Lyria: Where are you going?
Stan: Huh... where indeed. A journey of self-discovery, I think they call it?
Stan: In any case, I'm no use to anyone like this. There's all kinds of areas I need to work on.
Stan: As long as I keep a tight hold of that aim, I'm sure to grow stronger. In body and in soul.
Stan: In body and in soul, huh?
Stan has certainly honed his body during his journey thus far.
However, his soul proves to be no more resolute. The young swordsman feels irritated at himself for immediately wanting to hide upon spotting Aliza.
Stan: (Hold on! What kind of a coincidence is this? And me having ended up here in the first place...)
Attiyah: Hey, you.
Stan: Eek!
Attiyah: I'm talkin' to you. You went and hid yourself the minute you saw us, didn't ya? You up to no good or somethin'?
Stan: It's nothing like that. I, uh, kinda know the people you're with, so...
Attiyah: Oh, you a friend of theirs?
Hey, guys! I found—
Stan: Wait, wait, wait! Keep it down, will you!
Attiyah: Wha?
Stan: Just wait! Listen to me for a second.
Attiyah: Cough... What's the deal here? You hidin' for a reason?
Stan: Yeah, you could say that.
Attiyah: I get it. You like her, don't ya? Aliza.
Stan: Yeah, you could say that.
Stan: Wait, what? How!
Attiyah: Shh, don't be so loud.
Stan: ...!
Attiyah: Half of it was guessin', but I mean, it's not hard to figure out seein' how you look at her.
Stan: ...
Attiyah: I don't know what happened between you guys, but watchin' you squirm like this is gettin' on my nerves.
Attiyah: All right! I'll help you out.
Stan: Huh? Why?
Attiyah: Meetin' you like this has gotta be some sort of fate too. C'mon, just go along with it!
Attiyah: Anyway, (Captain) and the rest of 'em are headin' to the sacred mountain behind the temple. I'll go let 'em know I'm stayin' here.
Stan: But...
Attiyah: Don't worry, I just happen to be a nosy guy. I won't tell the others about ya.
Stan: Where exactly is this going?
Stan watches as Attiyah strides back toward the crew.
He stands in a daze, wondering how things will pan out from here.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 2: A Contender's Limits - Episode 2

Attiyah listens to Stan's story about his relationship with Aliza and gives him some romantic advice. Stan quickly realizes that Attiyah is Tabina's beloved. He is about to take Attiyah to Tabina's house when they see Wahid, Ahabak's leader, on his way to the temple.

Stan: ...
Attiyah: Hm, I see. I get it now.
As Aliza and the others make their way to the sacred mountain, Stan receives romantic advice from the ever-nosy Attiyah.
Hearing about Stan's bittersweet relationship with Aliza, Attiyah groans.
Attiyah: Hey, listen up. Don't think—feel. With your heart, ya know?
Attiyah: You like her, don't ya? Aliza's your sweetheart.
Stan: Well, yeah...
Attiyah: Oh c'mon, nothin' to be embarrassed about.
Attiyah: If you love her, then nothin' else matters. You got that? It's just the two of ya.
Attiyah: Just run up to her, hold her in your arms, and don't let go. It's that simple, buddy.
Stan: If I do that, she's gonna kill me for sure! Death by kicking!
Attiyah: Did you try?
Stan: Well... no.
Attiyah: Stop makin' excuses for yourself, man.
Attiyah: That's called bein' half-hearted, runnin' away like that.
Attiyah: If you keep thinkin' you don't wanna get rejected, or how you don't want her to hate ya, nothin' is ever gonna change.
Attiyah: You gotta take the next step! You gotta capture her heart!
Stan: Take the next step... Capture her heart, huh?
Attiyah: That's it. If you don't do anythin' about it, you're just gonna end up runnin' forever. That's how the world works.
Listening to Attiyah's passionate advice, Stan thinks of Tabina, who was lovesick just like himself.
Tabina: I'm going to shoot my arrow of love straight into his heart!
Tabina: No matter how hard it gets, nothing will be able to stop me now!
Stan: (That's right. Even Miss Tabina is trying her best to take the next step.)
Stan: (Meanwhile, I'm just here floundering...)
Stan: Hey...
Attiyah: What's up?
Stan: You really think it's not too late?
Attiyah: Heheh. I like the look in your eyes.
Stan takes a deep breath, his determination renewed.
Looking around, his eyes fall on a curious vehicle leaning against the wall.
Attiyah: It's a gearcycle. Fascinatin', huh?
Stan: Yeah, it's my first time seeing one. Is it yours?
Attiyah: Nope. Somethin' a certain careless, young lady left behind.
Attiyah: I came here to this island to look for its owner.
Stan: What?
Attiyah: Hm?
Stan: (Could it be that... this guy is Miss Tabina's beloved? Kinda different than what I'd imagined...)
Attiyah: What's wrong?
Stan: No way... Can I ask you something?
Attiyah: What is it?
Stan: Do you know anything about a ribbon... from a young miss with long, black hair? And a poem that goes something like, uh, "My heart, behold its dance"—
Attiyah: H-h-how d'you know about that!
Attiyah's eyes open wide as he grasps Stan by the shoulders and shakes him.
Stan: Calm down, will you! I can't talk if you keep shaking me like this!
Attiyah: Oh, sorry. I just got a little excited.
Attiyah: So... Where'd you hear 'bout the poem from?
Stan: From the miss herself, of course.
Attiyah: Y-you sure?
Stan: Yep. The miss is waiting to be reunited with you too, you know.
Attiyah: Is she now...
Attiyah: Haha. Hahaha! It was worth comin' all the way here!
Stan: Let me take you to where—
Just as Stan is about to take Attiyah to Tabina's home, the buzz of voices from the temple courtyard grows louder.
A group of merchants with an imposing air to them arrive at the temple and are given a warm welcome by the head monk.
Head Monk: Hello, Wahid. Judging by the look on your face, I see business is going well for you.
Wahid: But of course. It's only a matter of time until Ahabak becomes the most famous merchants' guild in all of Valtz.
Wahid: Bwahahaha!
Ahabak Underling 1: Bwahahaha!
Ahabak Underling 2: Bwahahaha!
Wahid: We'll be traveling for business soon. I trust I can leave security to you.
Head Monk: Of course. I will prepare the best men.
Attiyah: Huh, so that's the infamous merchants' guild, Ahabak.
Attiyah: That's a lotta people. How many guards are they gonna need for that?
Stan: (The miss mentioned that her father was Ahabak's leader. So that man must be...)
Stan stands in awe as he gapes at Ahabak with its numerous members, at the front of which is Tabina's father.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 2: A Contender's Limits - Episode 3

Wahid spots Tabina's gearcycle and asks Stan and Attiyah about it. Stan tells a bluff and hurries Attiyah away from the scene. Suspicious, Wahid instructs his underling to follow Stan and Attiyah as they head for Tabina's house.

Stan and Attiyah stand in front of the temple, observing the merchants' guild.
The head of the guild, Wahid, turns and approaches the two.
Wahid: You there, I have a question. That gearcycle is Tabina's, isn't it?
Attiyah: Tabina?
Stan: Oh, u-um, we were asked to run an errand by her maid, so we're just borrowing it for a bit. Yeah.
Attiyah: ...
Wahid: By her maid? So what does that make you two?
Stan: Ohh, well, we're... skyfarers! Who also work as handymen! So we, uh, travel around and run errands, and... stuff like that?
Wahid: You're saying her maid asked you, eh?
Stan: Y-yep! We're finished with the errand, so we're just about to go and return the gearcycle. Uh-huh.
Stan: C-come on! Didn't she say it was urgent? Let's get going!
Attiyah: What? But...
Stan: It's all good, it's all good.
Well then, we'll be on our way! Ahaha...
Feeling Wahid's cold eyes on them, Stan nudges Attiyah in the back, and the two of them hurry away from the temple.
Wahid: You. Follow them.
Ahabak Underling 1: Heh heh. On it, boss!
Unfazed by Stan's excuses, Wahid instructs a member of the guild to follow the two.
Stan: Phew, that was close...
Attiyah: Hey, what's with the fib back there? You were just tellin' me how this was the miss's gearcycle.
Stan: That man just now... He mentioned Tabina, right? That's the miss's name.
Stan: So that man is probably the miss's father.
Attiyah: Oh c'mon, you gotta tell me that kinda thing sooner! I just missed the chance to introduce myself!
Attiyah turns to go back to the temple, but Stan grabs him by the arm.
Stan: I'm telling you to wait!
Stan: The miss strictly told me to keep what happened between you and her a secret from her father.
Attiyah: And why's that?
Stan: You know, those fathers that dote on their daughters and see all other men as inferior. He's one of those.
Stan: The miss is worried.
Stan: She told me she didn't know what her father would do if he saw her alone with you.
Attiyah: Don't scare me like that, man.
Stan: Anyway, that's what she asked of me, so I had no choice but to lie.
Attiyah listens to Stan, and thinks back to when he and Tabina first met.
???: My little kitteeen! Where are yooou?
Tabina: ...!
Attiyah: So that was her father back then, huh?
Stan: In any case, we need to scamper back to the miss's house while the cat's still away!
Attiyah: Look, I'm really glad you're takin' me there and stuff, but what're you gonna do 'bout Aliza?
Stan: Don't worry about it. They won't be back from the mountain so soon—and besides, now that I know where she is, it's all good.
Stan: I'll go find Aliza once I see you and the miss happily reunited.
Stan reassures Attiyah, and the two of them continue on their way to where Tabina awaits her beloved.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 2: A Contender's Limits - Episode 4

The crew arrives at Mt. Nahlakri and meets Fazal the Sage, an old ghost living on the mountain. Aliza spars with the ghost, only to suffer utter defeat. Upon finding out that Fazal was once a monk at Tahar Temple, Aliza decides to train under Fazal as his apprentice in order to grow stronger.

Aliza: ...
From the moment they reach Mt. Nahlakri, Aliza finds herself unable to shake off the feeling that somebody is watching them.
The feeling remains even when the crew arrives at the place where the monks were said to have trained in the past.
Just as Aliza senses the presence growing stronger, the crew's pursuer reveals itself, a shape rising up in front of them.
???: Hoohoohoo...
Lyria: Eeeek! A spook!
???: Indeed, a spook I am...
???: No, call me a ghost!
Lyria: That's the same thing!
(Captain) and Aliza see Lyria trembling in fear and leap in front of her. They turn to face the ghost, posed to fight.
Aliza: Hey, you! You were watching us the whole time, weren't you? What do you want?
???: My my, what a lively little thing.
Aliza: ...
???: Hmm, that stance... Girl, did you learn that technique at Tahar Temple?
Aliza: Huh? No... I use what's called phoenix techniques, and they're something that I learned when I was—
???: Whooo! Phoenix techniques, is it? Quite the tasteful name, I must say!
???: I'd better think of a trendy name for my techniques too... Now what would be good? Decisions, decisions.
Vyrn: What's Ghost Gramps mumbling about over there?
???: Girl. You must allow me to test your phoenix techniques.
Aliza: By test, you mean have a spar? But how do I spar with a ghost?
???: Hoohoohoo! Fear not! I haven't been a ghost this long for nothing!
The ghost smiles. Aliza senses a fierce fighting spirit rising from the ghost as light begins to radiate from its body.
Aliza: Hmm... (Captain), can you leave this to me?
  1. You got this!
  2. You gonna be okay by yourself?

Choose: You got this!
Aliza: Thanks. Looks like it's gonna be a tough match, but I won't lose!

Choose: You gonna be okay by yourself?
Aliza: Stan's out traveling and training solo, isn't he?
Aliza: I need to step up my game too!
Continue 1
???: You need not fear. I'll spare you your life. Hoohoohoo!
Aliza: Here I come!
Talons of the Phoenix!
???: Whoohoo! Better than I expected... but you're not concentrating enough, girl. Too many thoughts.
???: In emptiness, even the fiercest of flames can be put out—thus what controls ferocity is the state of selflessness.
Aliza puts all of her energy into attack after attack, but the ghost easily fends them off.
???: Wa-taaah!
???: Hap, hap, eeee-yah!
In a split second, the ghost unleashes a swift series of kicks at Aliza.
Aliza: Ahhhh!
Lyria: Aliza!
Aliza is sent flying, much to the crew's dismay. However, Aliza puts up a hand and gestures to the others that she is all right.
Aliza: Haha... You're one heck of an opponent! I can tell you're taking it easy on me.
???: Mind, skill, and body. Your mind still has a ways to go, but your skill and body are well-disciplined.
Aliza: Is that supposed to be a compliment?
Aliza: What kind of martial arts was that anyway? It wasn't like the art without a name back at the temple.
???: The martial arts I use are the same as your phoenix techniques. They're something adapted from mastering the art without a name.
Aliza: Tell me, Mr. Ghost. How can I master a technique and adapt it?
???: Hm... First, you must discipline your mind—that's where you lack. Temper your mind into one that is strong and unwavering.
???: In the midst of a raging sandstorm, find the path you must walk and don't stray from it. That is the state of selflessness.
???: But I'm afraid you're not quite there yet. Regrettable, but that is your current state. Your fight is but child's play.
Aliza: Ugh...
Vyrn: Hey, Ghost Gramps, who the heck are you anyway? You can't just appear outta nowhere and start lecturing people like that!
???: Hooo! You're right...
Choose: Wanna go check it out?
Fazal the Sage: The name is Fazal. I was once a monk at Tahar Temple. I'm what you may call a sage.
Fazal the Sage: Things happened and now I'm a ghost, but anyway... Pleasure to make your acquaintance, hoohoohoo.
Lyria: What a cheerful ghost! I don't feel so scared anymore!
Any version of Ferry is a crew member

Vyrn: Come to think of it, Ferry counts as a ghost too. I guess ghosts come in all shapes and sizes, huh?
Fazal the Sage: If I act all scary, no one's gonna come near me, you know? I would be so lonely.
Aliza: ...
Fazal the Sage: Hm? What is it, girl? Getting all quiet like that, are you feeling upset from our sparring session?
Aliza: Of course I'm upset! But I'm also grateful to you, Fazal.
Aliza: You made me realize that I can still grow and become even stronger!
Fazal the Sage: I like that look of determination. I can see that you have plenty of room for growth.
Girl, how would you like to train under me?
Fazal the Sage: In doing so, perhaps you will be able to attain the state of selflessness.
Aliza: ...!
A fire ignites in Aliza's eyes as she looks earnestly at (Captain) and the others.
Aliza: Hey, (Captain)... Do you think it'd be okay for me to stay here?
Aliza: I know I can become stronger from training under Fazal! I just know it!
(Captain) smiles at Aliza and nods, offering a word of support.
Lyria: Hehe, that's right. After all, it wouldn't be like you to go back empty-handed, Aliza.
Vyrn: You're gonna get really strong and come back to us, aren't ya? We'll be waiting!
Aliza: Everyone... thank you.
Encouraged by the crew's words, Aliza turns back to Fazal and makes a deep bow.
Aliza: Please, Fazal! Make me your apprentice!
Fazal the Sage: ...
Fazal the Sage: You got it!
Vyrn: What was that pause for?
Fazal the Sage: Hoohoohoo. Just for the heck of it?
Aliza: Thank you, Fazal!
Aliza: I'll definitely come back stronger, (Captain)!
With a promise to meet again, (Captain) and company part ways with Aliza and make their way back down the mountain.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 3: For the Young Lady - Episode 1

Attiyah and Tabina finally reunite at Tabina's house, where they sing and dance in joy. The man who had been following Attiyah and Stan sees this and heads off to report back to Wahid. Tabina catches sight of the man and worries over the consequences.

Attiyah finds himself unable to contain his excitement when he and Stan arrive in front of Tabina's home.
Attiyah: Finally, I can see the beautiful miss again! Ahh, my heart's poundin' like crazy!
Stan: Attiyah, I'm telling you, keep it down.
Attiyah: I practically owe you my life, man, but not even you can stop this bubblin' happiness inside me, no sirree!
Stan: The miss isn't feeling well, so keep quiet...
Just then, the doors to the house are thrown open with dramatic force. Standing behind the doors are Tabina and her maid.
Tabina: Ah... It's you...
Attiyah: M-miss!
The two take a step forward as they gaze at each other, their eyes brimming with tears.
They reach out and clasp hands before falling into each other's arms.
Attiyah: Oh, miss... Is this a dream? To think that we're holdin' each other like this again, I can hardly believe it.
Tabina: Me too... So many times I've dreamed of losing myself in your strong embrace.
Tabina's Maid: Oh, Miss Tabina...
Stan: Heheh, I'm so glad they're together again...
Touched by Attiyah and Tabina's reunion, Stan finds himself shedding a few tears as well.
Until...
Attiyah: The soft touch of a goddess
Caresses my cheek like a gentle breeze...
Attiyah: The moment my eyes fell upon her

I felt my heart dance,

Singing of la vie en rose!
Stan: Wait, what? What is going on!
Attiyah: Taking your hand, our fingers entwine

Lost in each other's eyes, our hearts are one

As your smile shines on our future together
Tabina: The moment I saw him
My heart was sent aflutter
Attiyah & Tabina: Let us make our vow under the sun
Let the fleurs d'amour bloom one by one
Tabina: My heart quickens

No one can stop these feelings

I'm so madly in love with you
Tabina's Maid: May happiness be with you always
Gearby & Candlee: Blessings upon you, forevermore
Everyone: Beyond the sandstorm
Sing a song of love
Tabina: Hehe... Hehehe!
Attiyah: Hahahaha!
Stan: What in the skies just happened!
As the room is enveloped in an air of happiness, a man watches them from the shadows.
???: ...
Tabina: Who's there!
???: Erk!
Tabina: Oh dear, this spells trouble...
As the man runs off, Tabina feels a sense of uneasiness growing inside her and sighs.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 3: For the Young Lady - Episode 2

Attiyah reveals that his father was once attacked, passing away soon after. Although Attiyah had lived with hatred toward his father's mysterious enemy, he decides to live the rest of his life with his love for Tabina. Meanwhile, Wahid hears of his daughter's situation and heads for the house, enraged.

Tabina: ...
Attiyah: Who was that man?
Tabina: A member of Ahabak. I suspect... he's off to report back to Daddy about us.
Seeing Tabina shaken up by their unexpected guest, Attiyah grips her hand tightly.
Tabina: It'll only be a matter of time before Daddy comes looking for us. You must go!
Attiyah: Your dad, huh...
Attiyah: What kind of person is your dad, Tabina?
Tabina: Let's see... I guess he can be a little self-centered...
Tabina: I know he loves me, but he treats me like his little doll.
Tabina: He gets angry if I don't listen to him... It really makes me want to leave this house once and for all.
Tabina: Then he can live out the rest of his lonely days with a real doll. I'm sure it'll listen to whatever he says, unlike me!
Attiyah: Hey! Don't go sayin' careless things like that.
Tabina: Huh?
I-I was just joking! I'm sorry, I wasn't serious.
Attiyah: No, I'm the one who should be apologizin' for raisin' my voice like that. I just feel sorry for your dad...
Attiyah: Nevermind... Sorry, miss.
Attiyah's voice falters. The others are bewildered by his sad expression and the abrupt change of mood.
Tabina: Attiyah... Did something happen between you and your father?
Attiyah: It's not a happy story. You'll only feel awful listenin' to me wallow in my misery...
Tabina: I'll be fine. I want to know. I want to know everything there is to know about my beloved.
Attiyah: ...
Attiyah: To tell you the truth, my dad passed away when I was just a kid, so I don't remember much 'bout him.
Attiyah: I faintly remember a huge scar on his shoulder... and his eyes burnin' with hatred. That's it.
Tabina: A scar on his shoulder?
Attiyah: Yeah. I heard my dad was attacked by a thief once. He never recovered from the injury and got sick after that.
Attiyah: My mom spent all her time takin' care of him. Now that I think 'bout it, the medical fees were no small feat either.
Attiyah: My mom was growin' thinner by the day... Maybe my dad noticed that, 'cause one day, he suddenly left us and disappeared.
Attiyah: Or maybe... he was anticipatin' his own death.
Attiyah: After my dad left us, we received news from some guys on another island that my dad had jumped off the edge, plungin' into the sky.
Tabina: No! How can that be... Sniff...
Attiyah: Are those tears for my sake? Thank you, sweet Tabina.
Tabina: What about your mother? How is she now?
Attiyah: As for my mom, I'd wanted to repay her for all that she'd done for us, but... it happened only recently.
Attiyah's Mother: Cough, cough... Oh, don't make that face. Smile like you always do.
Attiyah: How can I smile at a time like this...
Attiyah's Mother: See me off with a smile, one bright like the sun on your neck. That warm smile of yours... I'd like to see it one last time.
Attiyah: Sniff... Ugh...
Attiyah's Mother: Please, Attiyah.
Attiyah: Haha... Hahaha!
Attiyah's Mother: Hehe. That's my smiling boy...
Attiyah: Haha... Sniff... Thanks, Mom.
Attiyah's Mother: Cough, cough... Listen to me, Attiyah.
Attiyah's Mother: Whatever happens, you must not hate others. You must love them. Love them, and...
Attiyah's Mother: ...
Attiyah: ...
Attiyah's Mother: ...
Attiyah: Mom?
Attiyah: H-hey, Mom? Wait... C'mon, open your eyes, please...
Attiyah: Mooom!
Attiyah reaches up to touch the sun-shaped birthmark on the nape of his neck.
Attiyah: There's just one thing I don't understand. Why was my dad attacked? I wanted to know how that came about...
Attiyah: My mom never did tell me the reason...
Tabina: Suppose... Suppose you found the man who attacked your dad. What would you do?
Attiyah: I'd probably kill him.
Tabina: ...!
A sandstorm begins to form outside. A cloud of sand blows into the room, as if to mask the expression on Attiyah's face.
Attiyah: Sigh... Haha, this isn't like me at all. Well, I'm bound to have a grudge or two.
Stan: Haha... Yeah, this isn't like you!
Attiyah: When I think about how much my mom suffered, and how my dad was bedridden all that time... It's all that man's fault.
Attiyah: But I doubt I'll ever run into the guy who attacked my dad. It's unrealistic in the first place.
Attiyah: Anyway, I've already decided to follow what my mom said, to love others... and to live for the love between Tabina and me.
Tabina: Attiyah... I, too, want to live for our love!
Not long after, the sandstorm dies down, and the room grows silent once more.
Attiyah: Well, I guess we'll be waitin' for Tabina's dad... or should I say, my father-in-law.
Tabina: But, Attiyah...
Tabina: Daddy really is scary. All the men who've approached me up until now were beaten half to death by the members of Ahabak, not to mention—
Attiyah puts a finger to Tabina's lips and shakes his head.
Attiyah: I told ya, didn't I? I'm gonna live for our love.
Attiyah: Anyway, it's normal for a father to worry 'bout his daughter.
Tabina: But!
Attiyah: I'm gonna keep holdin' on to this love. If we're sincere 'bout it, then our feelings are sure to get across!
Tabina: Attiyah...
Stan: Haha, he's the kind of guy who sticks to his words until the end. Let him be, miss.
Attiyah: Well, you never know what's gonna happen in life, right? Hahaha!
Tabina: (Hehe, such a courageous man...)
Attiyah's bravery and determination to face her father leaves a deep impression on Tabina.
Meanwhile, Wahid hears of Attiyah from his underling and becomes infuriated.
Wahid: Erghhh! I knew it... They were lying! How dare he make a pass at Tabina while I'm away...
Wahid: Unforgivable... Absolutely unforgivable! I'll tear him to pieces!
Ahabak Underlings: Wahid! Wahid!
Wahid! Wahid!
Wahid: Forwaaard!
Ahabak Underlings: Rrrraaah!
Wahid and his underlings hop onto their gearcycles. Accompanied by the men's angry cries, the gearcycles speed toward the house where Tabina and the others are.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 3: For the Young Lady - Episode 3

Wahid and his underlings arrive at the house. Tabina, Attiyah, and Stan attempt to talk things over with Wahid, but to no avail. Attiyah and Stan escape from the house and manage to get away with the help of Tabina's gearcycle.

The low rumble of engines and angry cries grow louder, until finally the front doors of the house burst open.
Wahid and his underlings rush into the room where Attiyah, Stan, and the others are.
Wahid: You scoundrels! Don't you know that liars are the cause of all sins!
Tabina: Daddy! Please, listen to me...
Wahid: You stay out of this, Tabina. I'm talking to those ruffians over there.
Tabina: ...
Tabina finds herself unable to oppose her father. Attiyah and Stan move in front of her.
Stan: I apologize for having lied to you earlier.
Attiyah: You have every reason to be angry, Father, but—
Wahid: You, of all people, have no right to call me Father!
Wahid's fury only grows as he shows no intent of listening to Attiyah and Stan whatsoever.
Wahid's underlings hold up their axes, ready to attack as they always have with all the men who dared to approach Tabina.
Wahid: Now, what should I do with the two of you...
Attiyah: If I may request some time to calmly talk things over—
Ahabak Underling 1: No one makes a move on the miss... You really don't know your place, do ya?
Ahabak Underling 2: Heh heh... Hope y'know what you got yourself into.
Stan: Doesn't look like they wanna talk...
Before they realize, Attiyah and Stan find themselves surrounded by Wahid's underlings.
Stan: What next, Attiyah? I don't want any bloodshed.
Attiyah: Course not. I'm not about to hurt anyone that has to do with Tabina...
Attiyah scans their surroundings and looks for a route to escape the dire situation.
Attiyah: (Looks like there's no way out... which leaves us no choice.)
Attiyah: I'm nothin' compared to all of ya, of course, but I'm a merchant myself. Whaddya say we talk things over as professionals of the same trade?
Attiyah: How 'bout we lower those blades first? Let's not play thieves here.
Wahid: Thieves, you say?
Ahabak Underlings: ...
Attiyah: I might have oversaid it... Anyway, let's
talk—
Wahid: You... You said that on purpose, didn't you? Calling me a thief of all things...
Wahid: Just who do you think you're talking tooo!
Wahid goes off into a sudden rage. Stan and Attiyah look at each other.
Attiyah: Sorry 'bout that.
Stan: No, I'm the one who told the lie earlier. Guess this leaves us no choice, huh...
Wahid: Slit their throats so they never make a sound ever agaaain!
Ahabak Underlings: Hrrraaah!
Wahid's underlings raise their axes at the same time and charge fiercely toward Attiyah.
Attiyah makes a swift leap, soaring above the men and landing on the window frame.
Attiyah: It's not like I don't have any moves of my own. That's why I'd like to settle this calmly, y'know?
Ahabak Underlings: ...
Attiyah: Tabina. Y'know... youth comes with many hurdles, or so I've heard.
Attiyah: But just watch. No matter how many hurdles there are, I'm gonna get past 'em all.
Tabina: Attiyah...
Attiyah: Stan, we're leavin' through this window!
Stan: Got it!
Wahid: What are you all standing around for... Don't let them get awaaay!
At Wahid's command, the men surge toward the window.
Attiyah and Stan barely slip through the window, landing just ouside the back of the house.
Attiyah: Man, I didn't expect him to get so mad...
Stan: It almost became a battlefield just at the word "thieves."
Attiyah: Well, at least we got away without fightin' anyone!
Stan: Yeah...
Ahabak Underling 1: There they are!
Ahabak Underling 2: You're not gettin' away!
Attiyah: Ah, but we are. C'mon, Stan.
Stan: Right behind you.
Attiyah and Stan promptly make a run for it without looking back.
Just as they thought they'd gotten away, they hear a low rumbling sound closing in on them.
Stan: Dang it, they must've gotten on their gearcycles... At this rate, they're gonna catch up to us in no time!
Attiyah: No, wait. This sound... It's a friend!
Stan: Huh?
Gearby: ...!
Stan: Huh? It's Tabina's gearcycle!
Attiyah: This little guy must be rootin' for our love. C'mon, we're gettin' on!
Stan: W-what!
Attiyah jumps onto the gearcycle, with Stan clambering on behind.
Ahabak Underling 1: Found you punks!
Ahabak Underling 2: Imma tear you to shreds!
Attiyah: Hold on tight!
Stan: Whoaaaa!
Attiyah pedals with all his might, propelling the gearcycle with great gusto.
However, what Stan is about to discover is Attiyah's unbelievable lack of driving skills.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 3: For the Young Lady - Episode 4

The crew encounters Attiyah and Stan as the two come crashing into town on Tabina's gearcycle with the men from Ahabak hot on their heels. The gearcycle crashes into a haystack, and the crew steps up to defend the two from Wahid's underlings.

After parting with Aliza, (Captain) and company make their way down Mt. Nahlakri and begin to look for a place to satiate their growling stomachs.
Vyrn: I wonder if they've got any food that's exclusive to the island.
Lyria: Sniff, sniff... There's a faint smell of spices in the air!
Vyrn: Heheh, sure stirs up my appetite!
The crew finds a restaurant buzzing with business and makes to head inside.
Just then, a rumbling sound echoes from the distance.
Vyrn: Hey, that's the sound of a gearcycle...
Lyria: Look! It's Attiyah and... huh?
Vyrn: Isn't that Stan? What's he doing here!
The men from Ahabak ram into Attiyah and Stan's gearcycle again and again in an attempt to catch them.
Attiyah: Hey, watch it! That's dangerous!
Ahabak Underling 1: Heh! You'd better stop before you get hurt then, eh!
Ahabak Underling 1: Take this!
Attiyah: W-whoa!
Ahabak Underling 2: And get a piece o' this!
Attiyah: Why you! That's dangerous stuff, I'm tellin' ya!
Stan: Hey! Keep your eyes in front!
Attiyah: Huh?
Attiyah: Pedestrians! Make waaay!
Lyria: Oh no! Someone's going to get hurt if we don't do something!
Vyrn: Let's get everyone outta the way!
Seeing Attiyah's gearcycle heading toward the market, the crew rushes to evacuate the people.
Just as everyone makes it out of the market, the gearcycle arrives at a sudden turn in the road and skids.
Unable to slow down in time, the gearcycle hurtles straight into a large stack of hay.
Vyrn: Oh boy...
Lyria: Attiyah! Stan! Are you all right?
Stan's Voice: I'm okay...
Attiyah's Voice: Sure is hard gettin' the hang of a gearcycle... Haha...
Seeing the two crawling out of the hay unharmed, the crew breathes a sigh of relief.
Behind them, the men from Ahabak pull their gearcycles to a halt.
Ahabak Underling 1: You brats sure cause a lot more trouble than you're worth...
Vyrn: Wait a minute. Did they do something?
Ahabak Underling 1: Outsiders should just shut it!
The men rev their engines menacingly, getting ready to charge at Attiyah and Stan.
(Captain) and company move to stand between them in defense.
Ahabak Underling 1: Are you lot their buddies or somethin'? Guess we'll just take you out too!
Ahabak Underling 2: Get 'em!

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 4: Mercy on the Avenger - Episode 1

Wahid appears and demands the crew hand over Attiyah and Stan. Noticing the sun-shaped birthmark on Attiyah's neck, Wahid becomes agitated and asks Attiyah if he is Qawi's son. Attiyah is equally surprised to hear his father's name.

Ahabak Underling 1: Ugh...
Ahabak Underling 2: Eurgh...
(Captain) and company defend Attiyah and Stan from Wahid's underlings.
Just then, Wahid himself arrives at the scene, bringing a legion of men with him.
Wahid: Look at that, what magnificent swordplay. Very impressive indeed. But I'm afraid I can't afford to withdraw either.
Wahid: As a father, I can't let a man get away with deceiving my precious daughter. Now, hand him over.
Despite Wahid and his men's advances, the crew refuses to budge.
Wahid: You've got some nerve, thinking you can stand against my multitude of men.
Wahid: Wahaha! I like that.
How about it? Wouldn't you like to join my guild? You'll be sure to get rich in no time.
  1. No thanks.
  2. Get rich, you say?

Choose: No thanks.
Vyrn: Heheh, you can say that again! We're not about to join a bunch of guys who're out to get our friends!

Choose: Get rich, you say?
Vyrn: Hope you're not getting any funny ideas, (Captain)!
Wahid: Wahaha! Honesty is most welcome. That's right—you can get anything you want if you've got the money.
Lyria: That's not true! There are a lot of things money can't buy in this world!
(Captain) nods at Lyria's words and gives a mischievous grin.
Vyrn: Geez... Now's not the time for jokes, ya know!
Continue 1
Wahid: Hmph... I suppose it's goodbye for you then.
At their boss's signal, Wahid's underlings raise their axes menacingly.
Having made their way out of the haystack, Attiyah and Stan find themselves perturbed by Wahid and his men's obstinacy.
Stan: Seriously...
Attiyah: Hey, (Captain). Sorry, but I don't wanna fight this man.
Attiyah: I'll explain it to you later, so how 'bout we retreat for now?
Vyrn: I'm thinking the same thing. I don't like the crazed look in those bloodshot eyes...
The rest of the crew agrees to Attiyah's proposal and begins to pull back.
It is at that moment that Wahid notices the sun-shaped birthmark on the nape of Attiyah's neck.
Wahid: You! W-what is that mark on your neck!
Attiyah: Huh?
Wahid: Is that a tattoo? Or...
Attiyah: Oh, this? For some reason, this sun-shaped birthmark's somethin' that's been passed down to every man in our family...
Wahid: ...!
Upon hearing that the birthmark was something Attiyah was born with, Wahid starts to shake uncontrollably.
Wahid: You... Are you Qawi's son?
Attiyah: H-huh? Yes... Do you know my dad?
Ahabak Underling 1: Qawi's... son...
At the sound of Attiyah's father's name, even Wahid's underlings appear agitated.
Hearing his father's name on an island so far away from home, Attiyah finds himself unable to contain his surprise.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 4: Mercy on the Avenger - Episode 2

Hearing that Attiyah's parents had passed away, Wahid is unable to withhold his laughter. Realizing that Attiyah knows nothing of the past, Wahid begins to tell him about the tragic fate between their families.

Wahid: Qawi... Where is he now?
Attiyah: Huh?
Wahid: I'm asking you where he is now!
Attiyah: (What in the world happened between my dad and Wahid?)
Sensing something greatly amiss, Attiyah quietly responds in hopes of finding out the truth behind his father and Wahid.
Attiyah: My dad... He died when I was young.
Wahid: Died?
Attiyah: My dad was sick and bedridden... Until one day, he went to another island and... It was unfortunate.
Attiyah: All I remember 'bout my dad is how much hatred burned in his eyes—how hard it was gettin' close to him...
Attiyah: That, and the prominent scar that extended from his shoulder.
Attiyah: Sorry to disappoint, but I don't remember much else 'bout him.
Wahid: Then what about your mother?
Attiyah: My mom passed away recently as well... She was sick, you see...
Wahid: Is that right... So you're the only one left in this world, huh?
Hearing the news of Attiyah's parents, little by little, Wahid's shoulders begin to shake—but it is not from sadness.
Wahid: Ha... Haha... Bwahahahaha!
So they're dead, huh!
Ahabak Underlings: Ahahaha!
Attiyah: ...
Lyria: That's awful! How could you laugh at Attiyah after he's lost both his parents!
Attiyah: I'm not such a good person that I'd just let you laugh at the death of my parents...
Attiyah glares daggers at Wahid and his underlings, barely containing the anger stirring inside him.
Wahid: You mean you don't know anything?
Attiyah: What?
Wahid: You really don't know anything, do you, boy?
Attiyah: ...
Wahid: Hm, I see... Let me fill you in then.
Wahid: I doubt your love for Tabina will hold for long once you learn of the connection between my family and yours.
Wahid begins to tell the story of how the two families became intertwined, and of the deep hatred that had come to grow between them.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 4: Mercy on the Avenger - Episode 3

Wahid explains that his father, leader of Ahabak at the time, and mother had been murdered by Attiyah's grandfather, Jalil. With the help of the head monk at Tahar Temple, Wahid had bided his time before exacting revenge many years after, only to have Jalil's son, Qawi, get away.

Wahid: I will never forget it. It happened forty-three years ago.
Wahid: I was still young when my father was chosen as the next leader of the longest standing merchants' guild, Ahabak.
Wahid: A banquet was held in celebration of the birth of a new Ahabak under my father.
Young Wahid: So you're the top guy now, Daddy? That's so cool!
Wahid's Father: Hahaha! Just watch, Daddy's gonna make Ahabak the most famous merchants' guild in all of Valtz!
Young Wahid: Hey, Daddy... What's that you're hiding around your tummy?
Wahid's Father: This? This is a dagger that Mommy had made, to celebrate Daddy's new position as leader.
Ahabak Underling 2: Haha, man, that must be nice!
Young Wahid: Lemme see, lemme see!
Wooow, it's gilded in gold and so shiny.
Wahid: I unsheathed the dagger to look at the blade. It was so beautiful, so magnificient. Having it made must have cost a fortune.
Wahid: My mother had saved up, little by little, while living an impoverished life. I knew how long my mother had been waiting for this day...
Wahid's Father: Brothers and sisters! Let us celebrate! Drink to your heart's content and be merry!
Ahabak Underling 1: All right! To our new leader...
Ahabak Underlings: Cheers!
Ahahaha!
Wahid: But on that very night, a certain incident came to rob us of our happiness.
Wahid: I was sound asleep until I woke up from some noises downstairs.
Young Wahid: Yaaawn...
Young Wahid: Did Daddy come home?
Wahid: I went downstairs to welcome my father back home from his banquet. But instead...
Wahid: What I saw was a ransacked room... And in the middle of it were my parents, drenched in blood.
Thief: ...!
Young Wahid: Who's there!
Wahid: The thief jumped out the window and ran. I remember seeing something on the nape of his neck...
Wahid's Mother: ...
Wahid's Father: U-ugh...
Young Wahid: D-Daddy! Mommy!
Wahid's Father: W-Wahid... Is that you...
Young Wahid: Hey, what happened? I'll go call the doctor...
Wahid's Father: Where's... your mother?
Young Wahid: ...
Wahid's Father: I see... Cough...
Young Wahid: Daddy! Hang in there!
Wahid's Father: Wahid... You must... be strong...
Young Wahid: Daddy! Daaaddy!
Wahid: After that, my parents' funeral was held at Tahar Temple, with the members of the guild lamenting the death of their leader.
Young Wahid: Jalil... Who did this to Daddy and Mommy?
Jalil: We haven't been able to trace the culprit... It seems they immediately left the island.
Young Wahid: What's going to happen to me?
Jalil: How would you like to live with me, Wahid? My son, Qawi, is around the same age as you. He's an honest boy—I'm sure you'll get along.
Jalil: As the new leader, I'll protect the Ahabak that your father left behind, and I'll watch over you too.
Young Wahid: Okay...
Wahid: After the funeral, it became my daily routine to offer my prayers to the sacred object at the temple and recount the disaster that had fallen upon me.
Young Wahid: (O Tahar, please, hear my prayers... Punish the man that murdered my parents...)
Wahid: Though still a child, I swore revenge in my heart and wrote it into a poem so that I would never forget.
Wahid: I prayed not with tears, but with fire in my eyes. Every time I offered my hate-filled prayers, the sacred object glowed in response.
Wahid: Little by little, I began to remember what the culprit looked like.
Young Wahid: Cough, cough...
Wahid: I offered up my prayers again and again. One day, the sand at the temple danced before my eyes, as if Tahar had finally heard my prayers...
Wahid: In the twenty years after that...
Wahid: Together with Jalil's son, Qawi, I continued working diligently for Ahabak every day.
Qawi: Yo, Wahid, I heard you got some successful negotiations going. Everyone's talking about it, you know?
Wahid: They're talking about you too, Qawi. You broke up a dispute between some members, didn't you? I hear they were fighting like cats and dogs.
Qawi: Ahaha! That one took a while. You don't need to use your head to break up a fight though—all you need to do is be frank about it.
Wahid: Qawi had an honest attitude and was dependable. There were rumors that he would be the next leader of Ahabak.
Wahid: But I couldn't afford to give the position of leader to Qawi. The Ahabak that my father left behind should be mine to take.
Wahid: Soon after, an opportunity presented itself.
Qawi: Hmm. So we're to each come up with a market development proposal, huh?
Wahid: It's that difficult project with Eanid Kingdom, isn't it?
Jalil: Yes. With your individual insights on the situation, come up with a proposal and submit it to me. I will adopt whichever I think is best.
Jalil: Why don't we have the results determine which one of you will serve as the next leader of Ahabak!
Ahabak Underlings: Whoooo!
Qawi: All right, let's do this, Wahid!
Wahid: You bet. I won't be showing any mercy, Qawi. That okay with you?
Qawi: Ahaha! Perfect.
Wahid: (The next leader of Ahabak... is me!)
Wahid: Several days after, Qawi and I each submitted a market development proposal to Jalil.
Jalil: Qawi's proposal was to work with Eanid's state operations and build a good relationship with them in order to make room for negotiations after.
Jalil: Wahid's proposal was to buy out the small businesses that go in and out of Eanid so that we can substantially monopolize their distribution channel.
Wahid: (Hmph... Building a good relationship first? That takes too much time. This guy just doesn't have the street smarts...)
Wahid: (With the funds Ahabak has now, buying out businesses and expanding our guild will be a piece of cake. Heh, this battle's over...)
Jalil: Both of your proposals were most intriguing. With this, I have made my decision.
Jalil: The next leader of Ahabak will be...
Jalil: Qawi. You are the next leader.
Qawi: All riiight!
Wahid: Wait a minute! My proposal was much
more—
Jalil: Wahid, I would like you to serve as Qawi's right-hand man in Ahabak.
Jalil: Indeed, your proposal was both realistic and more advantangeous for Ahabak.
Jalil: However, a straightforward and honest man like Qawi is what is necessary to lead our guild.
Wahid: I don't believe it...
Wahid: (So he already had his successor in mind right from the very start, huh?)
Wahid: (He only put on this show to demonstrate to everyone that Qawi was above me...)
Qawi: Wahid, I need you. Together, we can make Ahabak the greatest guild in all of Valtz!
Wahid: R-right...
Ahabak Underlings: Qawi! Qawi! Qawi!
Qawi! Qawi! Qawi!
Wahid: I was crushed. I thought it was over for me. But the god Tahar brought forth a miracle.
Jalil: Now, Qawi. I will grant you something in celebration of your succession as leader. Tell me, what is it that you want?
Qawi: Haha, that's easy. Give me that gilded dagger of yours, Dad.
Wahid: (Gilded... dagger?)
Jalil: So you knew about it, huh...
Qawi: It never left your side, so it's gotta be something good, right? That's why I wanted it for myself someday.
Jalil: Well then... Here, it's yours.
Wahid: Qawi happily took the dagger from Jalil and unsheathed it, gazing at the blade in wonder. Then he flaunted it in front of me.
Qawi: Get a load of this, Wahid! It's gilded in gold. Gold, I'm telling ya! This dagger is a work of art! Ahaha!
Wahid: I was so surprised I couldn't bring myself to say a word. It was the very dagger that my mother had given to my father as a gift.
Wahid: This was the plain evidence I'd been waiting for. It all came back to me—the sun-shaped birthmark on the culprit's neck.
Wahid: And the fact that Jalil, who has the very same birthmark, was the one who had killed my parents.
Wahid: Oh, it was hard. I wanted to take revenge right then and there, but I supressed this feeling and waited for an opportunity.
Wahid: I waited for a year. There was no point just killing them. So I let Qawi build up his achievements first...
Ahabak Underling 1: Just what you'd expect from Qawi! He got 'em to sign the contract even when they were drivin' such a hard bargain!
Ahabak Underling 2: Yeah, we should start callin' him boss and show some respect!
Ahabak Underling 1: Haha, you're right!
Qawi: Don't worry about it! Call me whatever you want—I'm always gonna be me!
Ahabak Underlings: Qawi! Qawi! Qawi!
Qawi! Qawi! Qawi!
Qawi: It's a celebration today. Drink up, guys! Ahaha!
Qawi: C'mon, Dad, you too! You came here to celebrate with me, didn't ya?
Jalil: It has been a while. Let us drink the night away!
Ahabak Underlings: Jalil! Jalil!
Jalil! Jalil!
Wahid: ...
Wahid: Just as I'd planned, the retired Jalil let his guard down and joined the banquet that night. This was the opportunity I'd been waiting for.
Wahid: Qawi! How about another round?
Qawi: S-sure...
Wahid: Everyone in Ahabak was overjoyed at the new project that was underway.
Wahid: They drank the night away like fools. Eventually, even Qawi passed out, intoxicated and completely defenseless.
Wahid: There he was, sleeping so soundly from the long night of celebration.
Jalil: ...
Wahid: (Look at the imbecile. Who do you think brought the new project to fruition? We'd still be at square one if it weren't for me.)
Jalil: Mngh... Hahaa...
Wahid: (Hiding my achievements and putting your own son in the spotlight... Does it make you happy? I'll teach you a lesson...)
Head Monk: ...
Wahid: Well, if it isn't the head monk. Who knew a guard like you would be so good at drugging? Thanks to you, everything's going according to plan.
Head Monk: This is all for the good of the temple. As long as we receive the offerings...
Wahid: Fear not, I am a dutiful man. I can promise that you will receive larger offerings than ever before.
Wahid: (Father... Mother... And Tahar, who has heard my prayers of rage and despair... It is time!)
Wahid: The moment I made my resolution, a sandstorm began to sweep over, with sand blowing into the temple.
Wahid: I could feel it. This sandstorm was Tahar's resentment and way of purification.
Wahid: Haha... Hahahaha!
Head Monk: ...
Wahid: My dear head monk... You didn't see a thing, did you?
Head Monk: O-of course not!
Jalil: ...
Wahid: Now, wake up, Jalil! Your enemy is upon you!
Jalil: Ergh! W-Wahid?
Wahid: Are you happy? Huh?
And now you will fall into the depths of despair! Suffer, like my parents did!
Jalil: S-stop...
Wahid: I hacked away with my axe at that cursed sun-shaped mark, over and over again. Before I knew it, he'd stopped moving.
Qawi: ...
Wahid: Next, I took the golden dagger from the pocket of my next target—Qawi.
Wahid: Thanks to you, I discovered who the culprit was. For that, I am grateful. But... I'm afraid it's goodbye.
Wahid: Hraaaah!
Wahid: A pathetic excuse, but I was so caught up in the moment that my hand slipped and he woke up.
Qawi: Augh! W-what are you doing, Wahid!
Wahid: Damn... I missed. But no matter. I have something I want to ask you.
Wahid: Qawi, do you know about what Jalil did to my father?
Qawi: Huh?
Jalil: ...
Qawi: D-Dad!
Qawi: Wahid! Did... did you do this?
Wahid: I'm asking you if you knew!
Qawi: Knew what! Dad took over from where your dad left off and worked hard to make Ahabak what it is today!
Wahid: Then let me fill you in!
Jalil killed my dad so he could work hard after that as leader!
Qawi: Wha... That can't be true!
Wahid: This is revenge. If you're gonna hate, you should hate Jalil for bringing this on you.
Wahid: Dieee!
Qawi: Damn it!
Wahid: Ugh...
Wahid: I kept swinging my axe, cornering him until he was backed up against the window.
Qawi: Wahid... I won't forget this. I will never forget what you did!
Qawi: Just you wait. I'm going to get my revenge. And it won't be just you...
Qawi: I'll take revenge on you, your family, and everyone here!
Wahid: Enraged, Qawi took advantage of that moment and slipped out the window of the temple. In a split second, he was gone.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 4: Mercy on the Avenger - Episode 4

Wahid had taken back the position of leader at Ahabak, but his hatred toward Qawi and Qawi's family had remained. Learning of Wahid's wish to exact revenge on himself, Attiyah is shocked. (Captain) and the others take Attiyah by the arm and manage to escape.

Wahid: Damn it!
Wahid: But it was a fatal wound. He was bound to eventually die on the roadside like a dog, so I let him go.
Ahabak Underling 1: Mngh... Wahid, what's the matter...
Ahabak Underling 1: Eek! Hey, you're covered in blood! What happened?
Wahid: ...
Ahabak Underling 2: Wake up, guys! Jalil... Jalil's dead!
Ahabak Underling 1: What'd you say!
Hey, Wahid, don't tell me you...
Wahid: Doesn't take a genius to figure it out. I think it's pretty clear who did it.
Ahabak Underling 1: Did you do this 'cause you didn't get chosen to be leader?
Wahid: Hah! Don't make me laugh! Why would I bother with something as trivial as that?
Wahid: "A flash of lightning

Rises to the surface
May the golden blade bring
A fate so merciless

To lives intertwined"
Suddenly, clouds of sand begin to blow, swallowing up the men in their uproar.
Wahid: This is the poem I wrote when I had just lost my parents as a child. Tahar listened to my prayers...
Jalil: ...!
Young Wahid: Who's there!
Wahid's Father: U-ugh...
Young Wahid: D-Daddy! Mommy!
Ahabak Underling 1: What was that just now?
Wahid: Tahar showed you a vision in the sand. It is what I saw as a child.
Wahid: You saw it, didn't you! What Tahar showed all of you! That sun-shaped birthmark on the nape of his neck!
Wahid: And that dagger! The one my mother gave to my father that day! He took it... along with my father's life!
Wahid: Jalil is the one who killed my parents! This is revenge... A justified revenge!
Ahabak Underlings: ...
Wahid: Men of Ahabak! You saw with your own eyes! Who is under the protection of the god Tahar?
Ahabak Underlings: Wahid!
Wahid: And under the guidance of Tahar, I have carried out my revenge! Who is it that brings justice?
Ahabak Underlings: Wahid!
Wahid: Men! Who is your true leader, the rightful leader of Ahabak?
Ahabak Underlings: Wahid! Wahid!
Wahid! Wahid!
Wahid: After years of biding my time, I finally accomplished my revenge. There was only one thing that worried me.
Wahid: Qawi was alive. He had escaped Tahar Island with his wife, who was with child.
Wahid: (Qawi... I could not finish you off. And your child that is to be born...)
Wahid: (My hatred and grudge will remain until the day you and your family are annihilated.)
Wahid: Since then, I have prayed to Tahar every day. Every day, I prayed with the deep hatred that continued to lurk in my heart.
Wahid: I never imagined that my precious daughter and Qawi's son would come to meet and fall in love.
Attiyah: I don't believe it... How can you be the very man that attacked my dad...
Wahid: Bwahaha! It doesn't matter to me whether you believe it or not.
Wahid: It ends here.
Wahid: This cycle that connects our two families will not be broken until your entire household is exterminated!
  1. Wait!

Choose: Wait!
Wahid: Don't get involved any further. My family was murdered! You have no right to stop me!
(Captain) desperately thinks of a way to stop Wahid and his rampage.
Stan: It's no use, (Captain)! We can't solve this just by talking it over anymore!
Attiyah: ...
Ahabak Underlings: Hraaaah!
As Wahid and his men close in on the crew, it is clear that (Captain) and the others are at a disadvantage.
Seeing Attiyah frozen in place, (Captain) grabs his arm and begins to run.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 5: Trials of Youth - Episode 1

Seeing Attiyah caught between avenging his father and his love for Tabina, Stan talks about his own experiences and how he had once disappointed Aliza. Hearing Stan's story, Attiyah finds his determination renewed and heads to Tabina's house once more.

(Captain) and company manage to shake off the men from Ahabak and hide themselves in a room at the inn.
As the sound of the men's gearcycles fades into the distance, the crew sighs with relief.
Meanwhile, Attiyah ponders over the connection between his family and Wahid's.
Attiyah: (What the heck! So my grandpa killed Tabina's grandfather...)
Attiyah: (Then Wahid killed my grandpa and attacked my dad.)
Attiyah: (My brain can hardly keep up...)
Stan: Attiyah, you okay?
Attiyah: I didn't think I'd ever be able to find the man who attacked my father. And that of all people...
A mix of emotions wells up inside Attiyah. He pushes it back, clenching his fists tightly.
Stan: You said earlier that if you ever found the culprit, you'd kill him. Does that mean...
Attiyah: I meant it back there. But I never thought it'd turn out this way...
Attiyah: Both my dad and my mom suffered so much... As a result, I was always alone as a kid...
Attiyah: Yeah... If he's lookin' for a fight, then I'll give him one...
Stan: Attiyah! Come on, is that really what you want?
Attiyah: Shut up! It's my problem, not yours. So stay out of it!
Tabina: Attiyah... I, too, want to live for our love!
Revenge, or love. Attiyah's heart wavers as a memory of Tabina's smile comes to mind.
Attiyah: (Will I have to give up on Tabina? Can I?)
Attiyah: (The answer is clear. Then why am I findin' it so hard to make a decision?)
Lyria: I wonder... if Tabina knows about this as well.
Attiyah: Who knows...
Stan: ...
(Captain) and the others look worriedly at Attiyah, unable to find the right words to say.
Stan: Hey, Attiyah. You might not like hearing this from me, but...
Stan: Nothing good comes out of struggling by yourself, you know.
Stan: There was a time when I was dying from a disease. All I could think of was how not to make Aliza sad.
Stan: In the end, I thought I could just leave her and disappear. That way, I'll just die alone.
Attiyah: Die... alone?
Stan: Yeah. Looking back, I want to punch myself for even thinking that. I tried to isolate myself and ended up causing trouble for everyone.
Vyrn: Oh man, I'll never forget that! Aliza was so mad.
Lyria: All of us were really worried too!
Stan: Yeah... I'll never be able to apologize enough for that. It was really stupid of me.
Aliza: I won't let Stan die all alone... I absolutely won't...
Aliza: If Stan dies like this, I want to go with him too!
Stan: Don't say that sort of thing! If you were to die, I wouldn't... I...
Aliza: It's worse for me! I can't take this!
Aliza: Dying in front of my eyes, or dying all by yourself, it's the same! I can't bear to lose you, Stan!
Stan: Aliza...
Recalling his mistake in the past, Stan gives a sad smile.
Taking a deep breath, he pulls himself together and turns to Attiyah with a serious look on his face.
Stan: I regretted what I did so much. I asked myself why I didn't talk more openly with Aliza.
Stan: So don't face this struggle by yourself. It might be scary at first, but you should talk with Tabina about this.
Attiyah: Stan...
Stan: We might not be able to find any answers here, but Tabina is in the same situation as you. The two of you should be able to come up with something together.
Stan: Because you know the love between you and Tabina is true!
Attiyah: Stan... Thanks, man.
You're right. Rackin' my brain again and again like this—it just isn't me.
Attiyah: All right! I'm gonna go and talk to Tabina. We'll think of somethin' after that.
Stan: The guys from Ahabak should be looking for us all over the place, so if you're gonna head back to the house, now's the chance!
And with that, Attiyah makes up his mind. He and the rest of the crew set out to find Tabina at her house.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 5: Trials of Youth - Episode 2

On Mt. Nahlakri, Aliza continues to train with Fazal, who tells her she must attain a state of selflessness in order to become stronger. A black sandstorm begins to blow, and Fazal recalls a similar incident in the past when the god Tahar went on a rampage. Fazal borrows Aliza's body, and the two of them head for Tahar Temple.

Meanwhile, on Mt. Nahlakri, Aliza is training hard under the sage Fazal.
Aliza: Hah! Hi-yah!
Aliza: Eeee-yah!
Fazal the Sage: Whoohoooo!
Aliza: Ahhh!
No matter how many times Aliza spars with Fazal, not one of her kicks manages to land. Aliza stamps her feet in frustration.
Aliza: Dang it...
Fazal the Sage: I told you, didn't I? If your mind, skill, and body aren't in tune, you won't be able to attain the state of selflessness.
Fazal the Sage: The phoenix techniques you're using right now amount to nothing but cheap imitations. Cheap imitations, I tell ya!
Aliza: Ergh...
Fazal the Sage: Know the foundations of your arts. If you want to master your phoenix techniques, you must build up a strong and unwavering resolve!
Fazal the Sage: If you can do that, the techniques will adapt to their user.
Aliza: So that means... they'll turn into phoenix techniques that are just for me?
Fazal the Sage: Hoohoohoo! Yes, they'll become a true martial art that isn't simply a cheap imitation.
Fazal the Sage: Well... at this rate, it may only be but a dream.
Aliza: I won't let it be just a dream! I'm definitely gonna reach this state of selflessness!
Fazal the Sage: Good. That's the spirit.
Aliza: (A strong and unwavering resolve, huh...)
Just then, they hear a ferocious sound resembling the howling of wind. Black clouds of sand begin to blow violently, swallowing up the island.
Aliza: Ugh, a ton of sand got in my mouth...
Fazal the Sage: Hooo! Could this be? So it's finally come...
Aliza: What's the matter, Fazal?
Fazal looks toward Tahar Temple at the base of the mountain, a grim look on his face.
Fazal the Sage: Aliza, can I ask you a teeny favor?
Aliza: Hm? What is it?
Fazal the Sage: It's urgent. I'll tell you about it on our way to Tahar Temple.
Fazal the Sage: Aliza, do you know why the monks at Tahar Temple train in the martial arts that they do now?
Aliza: Let's see... I think the head monk said something about training through martial arts in pursuit of the truth or something like that...
Fazal the Sage: Hmm, that's almost correct! Just missing a wee little detail! So that is, in fact, incorrect!
Aliza: (I thought he said this was urgent...)
Fazal the Sage: What is this god Tahar that they worship in their religion anyway?
Aliza: Um, I don't know...
Fazal the Sage: The god Tahar absorbs the evil thoughts of people through their prayers and purifies them.
Fazal the Sage: But there is a limit to this. Tahar once went on a rampage from being unable to purify all the evil thoughts that were being offered to it.
Fazal the Sage: As a result, Tahar brought storms of black sand upon the island, and the island was on the brink of being swallowed up by the sand... However!
Fazal the Sage: It was then that a warrior stood against Tahar and surpressed the storms! Free from evil and worldly thoughts, his weapon was his state of selflessness.
Fazal the Sage: After that, the brave warrior stayed here on Tahar Island and taught his techniques to the monks. That is how the training at the temple came to be.
Aliza: Wow... But wait a minute! Did you say black sand?
Fazal the Sage: Yep. Clouds of black sand slowly brewing into a storm... It may very well be that the god Tahar is about to fly into a rage once again.
Shuddering, Fazal looks up at the black sandstorm swirling above the island.
Fazal the Sage: I pray that is not the case... but if it is, Tahar must be stopped. By one who has attained the state of selflessness.
Aliza: Fazal, could it be that the reason you still have an attachment to this world is because...
Fazal the Sage: Who knows? Perhaps I wanted to see if someone who could match up to the warrior himself would make an appearance, and to share the secrets of the arts with them...
Fazal the Sage: Whatever it may be, if the god Tahar has indeed gone on a rampage, then as a monk, I must put a stop to it!
Aliza and Fazal proceed down Mt. Nahlakri as fast as they can.
Fazal the Sage: Well then, Aliza, I must ask you for a favor. We have a problem.
Aliza: Hm? And what's that?
Fazal the Sage: I cannot leave the mountain. I can only maintain this form with the mysterious power from the sacred mountain.
Aliza: So... what would happen if you left the mountain?
Fazal the Sage: I'd disappear.
Aliza: What! Then how're we supposed to get to the temple?
Fazal the Sage: Actually, I was hoping to borrow your body.
Aliza: Borrow my body? W-what are you gonna do with it?
Fazal the Sage: Nothing! From training on this mountain, the nature of your spirit has changed just a little.
Fazal the Sage: Your spirit's like a smell. Think of it as lending me a small part of that spirit, just for a while.
Aliza: I dunno...
Fazal the Sage: Well, I wouldn't want to force you. Why don't you close your eyes and think about it for a bit?
Aliza: Okay...
Aliza: (Well, it doesn't sound like he wants to possess me or anything...)
Aliza: (The island's in big trouble. I should help save it in whatever way I can...)
Aliza: Huh? Wait, Fazal? Where'd you go?
Fazal the Sage: Hooohoohoo! I'm heeere! Inside your body!
Aliza: Wha... Whaaat! Wait a second! I haven't agreed to anything yet!
Fazal the Sage: It's an urgent matter. I'm just borrowing your body for a little while! No harm to it.
Fazal the Sage: Come on, Aliza! We need to head to the temple before it's too late!
Aliza: B-but...
Fazal the Sage: With this, I can leave the mountain! Now, let's be on our way! To Tahar Temple!
Aliza: O-okay!
Aliza: (Oh well. Whatever happens, happens!)
Despite her protests, Aliza now harbors the sage Fazal inside her body.
But with no time for hesitation, she begins to make her way to Tahar Temple as fast as she can.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 5: Trials of Youth - Episode 3

(Captain) and the others arrive at Tabina's house. Attiyah tells Tabina of the tragic fate between their families, and the two of them reaffirm their love for each other. Attiyah decides to save Wahid and end the cycle of violence once and for all.

The crew and Attiyah arrive at the house to have a talk with Tabina.
However, as they make their way to the door, they discover some men from Ahabak collapsed on the floor around them.
Vyrn: Hey, what's going on? Why are the guys from Ahabak lying around here?
Stan: Maybe something happened to the miss!
Attiyah: Damn it! Tabina, where are you? If you can hear me, answer me!
Ahabak Underling 1: Why, you little... Stay still, will ya!
Just as (Captain) and company are about to split up to look for Tabina, they hear an angry cry from a room toward the back of the house.
Tabina's Voice: I said stop!
Attiyah: That voice!
Attiyah makes a mad dash toward the room from which the voice came.
He bursts into the room, just in time to see Tabina gracefully deliver a series of kicks to Wahid's underlings.
Tabina: Hyaaah!
Ahabak Underling 1: Errrgh!
Tabina: Hiii-yah!
Ahabak Underling 2: Arrrgh!
Tabina: Oh, I beg your pardon. I am now but an ill-tempered horse. It would be foolish to take me on as an opponent.
Tabina: Those who stand in love's way... must be punished!
Stan: Why are the guys from Ahabak attacking the miss?
Vyrn: So that's the girl you fell for, Attiyah? Man, she's strong!
Tabina knocks out the rest of the men. She looks at Attiyah standing frozen at the door and laughs to herself.
Tabina: Oh dear... My lovesickness is at its height. To think I'm starting to see my beloved Attiyah in the faces of my enemies...
Attiyah: Tabina...
Tabina: Goodness... I can even hear Attiyah's voice coming from that one. The sickness is more serious than I'd thought...
Attiyah: ...
Tabina: Oh! C-could it be? Attiyah, is that really you?
Attiyah: ...
Stan: It sure is. This Attiyah's the real deal.
Tabina: Ohh! To think we'd see each other again like this... 'Tis a miracle.
Stan: Hey, miss, why exactly are the men from Ahabak going after you?
Tabina: I tried to go to where Attiyah was, but they grabbed my arm. When I wrestled out of their grasp, they started whipping out their weapons.
Tabina: That's why I decided to teach them a little lesson.
Tabina: Attiyah... We've finally been reunited. Why won't you take me into your arms?
Attiyah: Tabina... There's somethin' I hafta tell ya.
Tabina: Oh, what a solemn face you make...
The crew looks at Attiyah, who fixes his attention on Tabina and takes a deep breath.
Attiyah: Tabina... D'you know a man by the name of Jalil?
Tabina: ...
At the mention of Jalil's name, Tabina's expression clouds over.
Attiyah: The man who killed your grandfather and became Ahabak's leader, Jalil... That man is my grandpa.
Tabina: No! How can this be? Tell me it isn't true!
That means... the man who attacked your father—it's Daddy, isn't it?
In the midst of the roaring thunder, Attiyah and Tabina gaze into each other's eyes, lamenting their tragic fate.
Tabina: Attiyah, you said it before, didn't you? That if you ever found the man who attacked your father, you'd kill him...
Attiyah: I did. But then I remembered... that there's somethin' stronger than hate.
Attiyah's Mother: Cough, cough... Listen to me, Attiyah.
Attiyah's Mother: Whatever happens, you must not hate others. You must love them. Love them, and...
Attiyah: It's love.
Tabina... I love you. More than anythin' else.
Tabina: Oh, how cruel is our fate that separates the two of us! Our time together was but a dream... A dream from which we must wake to a grievous reality.
Tabina: No matter how many days or seasons pass... The stars continue to move across the skies, never to align—never to escape from their tragic destiny!
Tabina: Oh, my dearly beloved... 'Tis goodbye.
Tabina: Ah, the sun sets
And the darkness emerges
Tabina: Our destinies intertwined
I must forget, for that is Daddy's wish
Attiyah: Mother once told me
To love and not to hate
Attiyah: Let us break free, you and I
Attiyah: No matter the obstacles between us, we are one in heart and soul.
Together, we can break free. I know we can!
Tabina: Attiyah...
Wherever you may go, I will follow!
Tabina gives a nod, and Attiyah pulls her into a tight embrace. They lose themselves in each other's gaze, their eyes shining with tears.
Vyrn: Hey, what was that just now?
Stan: They were... proving their love for each other.
Attiyah: I know it's scary to face such a long history of hate and violence. No matter how much I smiled, my dad's face would still flicker in my mind.
Attiyah: But... it's not like that anymore!
Attiyah: From the moment I met you, you saved me. It's like my mom told me. For the first time in my life, I looked toward the future... A future with you.
Tabina: I feel the same, Attiyah. I'd never seen Daddy truly smile, not once in my life...
Tabina: He talks to me with a pleasant expression on his face. But it's like he's always running from something—a shadow from the past...
Attiyah: We can't erase the past. But there must be somethin' we can do to escape this tragic cycle...
Tabina: Oh, if you'd only said the word... I would have run away with you, even to the ends of the skies. Will you save Daddy for me?
Attiyah: I'm not gonna run away! I may be the grandchild of the man who started it all, but you and I are family now.
Tabina: Oh, I'm so happy... But how are we going to get through this?
Attiyah: That's where we ask someone who's gotten out of a tough spot before. We're countin' on you, Stan!
Stan: Huh? M-me? Sure I've been in a tough spot, but that's totally different from what you guys are going through!
Tabina: ...
Stan: Oh, fine... This is just my story, 'kay?
Stan: Let's see... I'm an Erune, whereas the one I love, Aliza, is a Draph. I also served as Aliza's attendant, so our social standings are different too.
Stan: Aliza's mother was against us being together. The difference in status was a major factor, but she insisted that our other differences would only make it harder.
Tabina: Despite that, you didn't give up...
Stan: Because I don't want to lie to myself anymore. I love her!
Attiyah: Hah, that's the guy I set my hopes on. Love's the one thing you can't lie about.
Tabina: I think so too!
Stan's courageous words spark a fire in the hearts of Attiyah and Tabina.
Tabina: Attiyah!
Attiyah: Tabina!
A burning love, and a river of emotions. The whole world fades away as Attiyah fixes his eyes on his beloved.
Tabina gazes back at Attiyah, with only him reflected in her eyes.
The sparks from the couple's burning love set even the hearts of Tabina's mother, Shafa, and her maid on fire as the women escape from another room they had been confined in.
Shafa: My cherished daughter! Heed not the tragic destiny that befalls our family, for it shall be history.
Shafa: Oh daughter, listen to my words, for I speak only the truth. Any obstacle can be overcome with the power of your love.
Tabina's Maid: Indeed! My lady, so lovely and strong—I pray for your happiness!
Tabina: Thank you... How blessed I am to have the two of you by my side!
Attiyah & Tabina: To a future, where we shall be free
Attiyah: I will live
Tabina: I will live
Attiyah & Tabina: For you!
Shafa & Maid: Saeada, we sing
Gearby & Candlee: Massir, we sing
Ahabak Underlings: Saeada, we sing
Everyone: To your happiness!
Stan: Why are you guys singing too!
Vyrn: I just wanted to show my support, ya know?
Lyria: Yeah! To their happiness!
Stan: (Captain), you were singing quietly by yourself too, weren't you?
(Captain) smiles, slightly abashed.
Shafa: Tabina. Attiyah. Honestly, I don't know what to say...
Shafa: What I do know though, is how strong the bond and the love between the two of you are. And that is all that matters.
Tabina: Mommy... Thank you...
Attiyah: Thank you very much!
Encouraged by the blessings they receive and filled with a new determination, Attiyah and Tabina are finally ready to take on what lies ahead of them.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 5: Trials of Youth - Episode 4

The head monk from Tahar Temple appears at the house. He commands a legion of monks to fight against the crew in order to stop them from going to the temple where Wahid is.

Stan watches as Attiyah and Tabina bathe in their love for each other.
His thoughts rush to Aliza, his heart dancing at the thought of them finally meeting again.
Stan: ...
Shafa: To be honest... I had given up on this tragic cycle that had entrapped our family.
Shafa: We cannot change the past. But seeing the love between the two of you, I now realize that there is something we can change—the future!
Shafa: We'll convince Tabina's father and make him see!
Attiyah: Both Tabina and I have only learned of this tragedy and are comin' face to face with it for the first time.
Attiyah: Wahid's been strugglin' with his fate for so long, I'm not sure how I should go 'bout this situation...
Attiyah: Still... Along with Tabina, I wanna convince him that we can live happily together!
Just as Attiyah and Tabina exchange a smile, the doors to the house are flung open.
Head Monk: ...
Shafa: If it isn't the head monk! Whatever is the matter?
Head Monk: My lady, I apologize for the sudden intrusion, but there is an urgent matter I must tend to.
Shafa: Please, calm down. I will convince my husband to—
Head Monk: Pardon me.
The head monk brushes past Shafa and moves to stand in front of Attiyah, his apprentices from the temple in tow.
Head Monk: To think that you were Qawi's son...
Attiyah: I've no intention of fightin' you, monk. So why don't you take those scowlin' apprentices of yours back with you to the temple?
Head Monk: I hold no grudges against you personally. But there is a debt that I must repay.
Head Monk: Without Wahid's contributions, Tahar Temple would not have survived up until now.
Head Monk: I will pray for you, Attiyah—that you will not feel any more pain than necessary.
At the head monk's signal, the trained monks surround the crew in one swift movement.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 6: The Brazen Blooms - Episode 1

After Attiyah defeats all of the monks, Tabina knocks out the head monk from behind. As the sandstorm grows more violent, Lyria senses the strong hatred of a primal beast in the direction of the temple, and the crew continue on their way.

Despite being surrounded by the monks, Attiyah remains calm.
Attiyah: I hear it was you, the head monk, who drugged the food and drinks at the banquet way back when and helped murder my grandpa.
Head Monk: Then you should know why I'm here now.
Attiyah: They say violence begets violence. Are you afraid of me?
Head Monk: Why should I fear but a young fool such as yourself?
Attiyah: It's written all over your face, y'know. How you don't wanna remember what happened that night.
Head Monk: I would advise you to refrain from speaking out of place, boy.
Attiyah: Sorry to rain on your parade, but I wanna put this tragic cycle to an end.
Attiyah: I'm not interested in revenge in the least. Not anymore, I swear it. So can't we forget about fightin' each other?
Head Monk: Unfortunately, the decision is not yours to make, but Wahid's.
His face flushed, the head monk gives a signal. The monks leap in to attack the crew.
Monk-in-Training 1: Hyaaaah!
Shafa: Stop this at once!
Attiyah & Tabina: Mother!
Mommy!
Shafa: Ugh...
Shafa had thrown herself in front of Attiyah in an attempt to defend him from the monks' attack.
Attiyah clenches his teeth, resenting himself for allowing harm to befall the mother of his beloved.
Attiyah: Hey... Were none of you listenin' to what I just said? I'm not interested in revenge. So why are you doin' this...
Attiyah: You punks... You really know how to get me mad, don't yaaaa!
Stan: W-whoa! What's going on! Why's everything shaking?
Tabina: Mommy, let's get you out of here for now!
Tabina's Maid: This way, my lady...
Shafa: Hngh... Thank you, dear...
Attiyah: ...
With Tabina's mother and her maid safely escorted out of the room, Attiyah turns his attention back to the monks surrounding him.
His angry expression shifts as he quietly raises an axe and takes a deep breath.
Attiyah: Whew...
Feeling a fierce energy radiating from him, the monks come back to their senses and begin to charge at Attiyah.
Monk-in-Training 1: Hraaah!
Attiyah: ...
Monk-in-Training 2: Take this!
Attiyah: ...
Monk-in-Training 1: Huh!
Monk-in-Training 2: It's... not working...
Attiyah: Now I know just how much pain my mother-in-law felt back there...
Attiyah: It's my turn to give you a taste of your own medicine!
Monk-in-Training 1: Arrrgh!
Attiyah: You're not gettin' away! Eat this!
Monk-in-Training 2: Errrgh...
Head Monk: D-damn it! All of you, show him the true essence of our arts and teach him a lesson!
Monks-in-Training: Hyaaaah!
The monks focus their energy and surge toward Attiyah like an avalanche.
But this doesn't faze Attiyah in the slightest.
Attiyah: Hasn't anyone!
Attiyah: Ever told you!
Attiyah: To play nicely!
Attiyah: With other kids!
Attiyah takes out the monks one by one.
Before long, all the monks collapse to the ground in defeat, much to the crew's amazement.
Attiyah: Whew...
Lyria: W-wow...
Vyrn: Guess Attiyah doesn't exactly play nicely himself, huh?
Tabina: Ohh... How magnificent he is... How exquisite!
Stan: Love sure is blind...
Attiyah: How 'bout surrenderin' here, head monk? All that's left is you.
Head Monk: Heh, are you sure about that?
The head monk gives a sly smile. It is at that moment that the underlings from Ahabak swarm in from the back garden.
Bows in hand, the men nock their arrows and release them at Attiyah all at once.
Attiyah: ...!
Tabina: Attiyah!
Attiyah: Haaaah!
It happens in a single moment.
As the arrows rain on Attiyah, he snatches all of the arrows midair and flings them back at the men, sinking them one by one.
Ahabak Underling 1: Ugh...
Ahabak Underling 2: Ergh...
Attiyah: I guess that's all of 'em.
Head Monk: ...
Attiyah: Don't worry, I made sure to avoid all the vital points.
Head Monk: Hmph... With all the men from the temple defeated, how could I ever face Wahid...
Attiyah: So you're gonna insist on doin' this no matter what, huh?
Head Monk: Well then, Attiyah. It's time for us to fight, one-on-one.
The head monk steadies his breathing and poses, ready to fight. The air around the monk shifts, his honed skill apparent in his stance.
Head Monk: Hyaaaah!
Just as the head monk raises a battle cry...
Head Monk: Erk!
Head Monk: T-to think I'd get knocked out from behind... What a c-cowardly thing to do...
Tabina: You're one to talk! You sent a multitude of men at us—you don't think that's cowardly?
Attiyah: Ahaha! She's right. That's my Tabina!
Vyrn: Does that mean things've calmed down for now?
Attiyah: Yeah. Now I can finally find Wahid and have a peaceful talk with him.
Suddenly, a raging sandstorm covers the sky and enormous clouds of sand blow into the house.
Vyrn: Blegh...
Tabina: W-what could this be? I've never seen such a violent sandstorm in my life!
Lyria: Oh no! I sense a primal beast in the direction of the temple!
Vyrn: Say what!
Lyria: It's feeling a lot of pain and anger... I can sense hatred coming from it, so much it might be about to explode!
Stan: H-hang on a second... Aliza's at the mountain just behind the temple, isn't she?
Vyrn: Huh? How d'you know!
Attiyah: I told him earlier! We can save the details for later—let's get over there now!
Head Monk: Haha... Hahaha! So Wahid has awoken the god Tahar...
Lyria: Why is it holding so much hatred? I thought Tahar was supposed to purify the evil thoughts of people...
Head Monk: It's beyond what I can handle now. Though I suppose it's been so since the day Wahid accomplished his revenge...
Head Monk: Wahid is unstoppable... Now the thick darkness inside of him has swallowed up even Tahar!
Head Monk: Hahaha... Ergh...
At the head monk's words, the crew hurries toward Tahar Temple to stop both the primal beast and Wahid.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 6: The Brazen Blooms - Episode 2

Aliza and Fazal find Wahid chanting a curse in front of the sacred object at the temple. When Aliza attempts to chase after Wahid, he attacks her. The crew arrives at the temple to find Aliza and Wahid in the middle of their fight.

The sun shining just moments before is masked by the raging sandstorm, engulfing the island in darkness.
Aliza and Fazal arrive at Tahar Temple and hear a string of prayers echoing from the temple's place of worship.
Aliza: What is that... Sounds more like a curse than a prayer...
Fazal the Sage: So that's what casting an evil spell is like... Take a look over there, Aliza.
Aliza: Eek! What's with the face?
Aliza is taken aback at the sight of Wahid, an expression of deep resentment on his face as he continues to offer his prayers to the sacred object at the temple's place of worship.
Wahid: O Tahar... It's been said since the olden days that violence begets violence.
Wahid: However, the cycle ends tonight.
Wahid: I shall protect my family from Attiyah! It is only natural to defend against a befalling calamity!
Aliza: (Did he just say Attiyah?)
Wahid: Yes, it's something I must do! To end the circle of hate that plagues our families! Ahahahaha!
Wahid laughs madly as he slowly loses his senses. The sacred object in front of him starts to emit a dull light.
Wahid: Bwahahaha! Attiyah, detestable son of Qawi! Suffer! Suffer and die!
Wahid: Feel my anger, my sadness, my hatred... and the terror of it all from the bottom of your heart!
As the light from the sacred object grows stronger, Wahid feels his energy slowly draining out of him.
It is as if Wahid's life force itself is being absorbed into the object.
Wahid: Ergh... No, my anger! My hatred! I can't... have it just end like this!
In an instant, the sandstorm whips into the room and blinds Aliza.
Aliza: Ahh!
Fazal the Sage: Hmm...
By the time the sands die down, the sacred object is gone, along with Wahid.
Aliza: Huh? They're... gone...
Fazal the Sage: Such intense hatred... I can hardly believe it.
Fazal the Sage: Aliza, whatever the case, the task ahead of us has not changed.
Fazal the Sage: We must defeat the god Tahar and stop its rampage before the island is swallowed up!
Aliza: Okay!
Aliza leaps outside to look for Tahar when she spots Wahid in the middle of the temple courtyard.
Aliza: Huh? Isn't that...
Wahid: Hngh...
Fazal the Sage: Continuing to exhibit hatred is a taxing thing in itself... What's left may be but a shell.
Aliza: H-hey! Mister!
Aliza runs toward Wahid, who gives her a menacing look.
Wahid: I do not remember your face. Are you a traveler? Wait... don't tell me you're with that ruffian?
Aliza: You mentioned Attiyah earlier, didn't you? Do you have something against him?
Wahid: Hah, not just something against him! I want to erase him from this world, once and for all!
Wahid staggers toward Aliza, brandishing an axe in a threatening way.
Aliza: Fazal... what should we do?
Fazal the Sage: It'd be best to avoid any unnecessary conflict. After all, we still have something that needs to be done.
Aliza: Yeah...
Wahid: Graaaah!
Aliza: Whoa! Hey, chill out!
Wahid: Grr!
Aliza: Hang on a second! I don't wanna fight you!
As Aliza continues to dodge Wahid's attacks, the crew arrives at the temple and runs toward the courtyard.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 6: The Brazen Blooms - Episode 3

Under the influence of Tahar's power, Attiyah is almost consumed by his hatred, but Tabina reminds him again of their love for each other. Attiyah decides to embrace the father of his beloved, and together the couple persuades Wahid to let go of his vengeance. Just then, the raging primal beast makes its appearance.

(Captain) and the others arrive at the temple to find Aliza and Wahid fighting.
Stan: Aliza!
Tabina: Daddy, stop!
Wahid: Urgh...
At the sound of Tabina's voice, Wahid lowers his axe to glare at the crew.
Aliza's eyes widen in surprise at the sight of Stan.
Aliza: S-Stan? What are you doing here!
Stan: Aliza... I promise I'll fill you in later, 'kay? In the meantime...
Tabina: Daddy!
Attiyah: Wahid...
Wahid: Tabina... move away from that man.
Wahid: That scoundrel brings nothing but misfortune to our family!
Attiyah: I didn't come to this island for revenge!
Wahid: ...
Attiyah: I do regret not knowin' the history between our families this whole time... I was ignorant.
Attiyah: But y'know... It's because my parents wanted me to be happy.
Attiyah: Even after my dad passed away, my mom never told me about the past.
Attiyah: I'm sure it's because my mom wanted that tragic cycle to end with their generation.
Attiyah: My mom... She was the kindest person I ever knew.
Wahid: You don't know when to be ashamed, do you...
Wahid: Your grandfather is the one who started all of this, not me!
Wahid: And now you want to end it... You sure know what's convenient for you, don't you!
Attiyah: You may be right. Still...
Wahid: Still? Still, you say?
Wahid: Bwahaha! Don't make me laugh, son of Qawi, grandson of Jalil!
Wahid: How can I extinguish Jalil's family once and for all? How can I appease this never-ending hatred? This despair from the brutal murder of my parents!
Wahid: Tell me, Tahar!
The winds howl in response to Wahid's cry, blowing more violently than ever. The sandstorm blinds (Captain) and the others.
Attiyah: A-argh... Feels like my head's about to split...
Jalil: ...
Wahid: Now, wake up, Jalil! Your enemy is upon you!
Jalil: Ergh! W-Wahid?
Wahid: Are you happy? Huh?
And now you will fall into the depths of despair! Suffer, like my parents did!
Wahid: Hraaaah!
Qawi: Augh! W-what are you doing, Wahid!
Qawi: Wahid... I won't forget this. I will never forget what you did!
Qawi: Just you wait. I'm going to get my revenge. And it won't be just you...
Qawi: I'll take revenge on you, your family, and everyone here!
A memory belonging to someone else plays in Attiyah's mind and disappears.
Confused, Attiyah finds a boiling rage rising inside himself, biting at him.
Attiyah: Arrrgh!
Wahid: Attiyah, my dear boy. Can you really forget it all? This rage, this hatred! I killed them, you know!
Wahid: Now, pick up that axe and come at me!
Wahid: Answer to your thirst for revenge! Let us atone for our sins with our lives! Bring an end to this tragic cycle... once and for all!
Attiyah: ...
Attiyah looks murderously at Wahid and raises the axe over his head.
Tabina: Attiyah! No, don't!
Wahid: Bwahahaha! You see, Tabina? This is his true nature, as one who carries the blood of Jalil! We will never be able to reconcile!
Attiyah: Huff... Huff...
Just as Attiyah is about to bring down his axe on Wahid, Tabina runs to Attiyah and puts her arms around him.
Tabina: Attiyah...
Attiyah: Agh... T-Tabina...
Tabina: We made a vow under the sun, didn't we? That we'll spend our futures together...
Attiyah: O-our future... together...
Attiyah: Arrrgh!
Attiyah: Huff, huff...
Wahid: What?
Attiyah: That's right... I'm gonna spend my future together with Tabina!
The hatred that had been eating away at Attiyah's heart is dispelled by the love he feels for Tabina.
Attiyah: Wahid, it may be what's convenient for me... But the tragic cycle ends here!
Wahid: Hahaha... Don't joke with me! I've lived my days tortured by this tragedy... You think you can escape it just like this?
Wahid: I won't let you. If you want to end it... then chop off that head of yours and serve it to me on a platter!
Exposed to the full force of Wahid's hatred, Attiyah quietly kneels in front of him.
Attiyah: ...
Wahid: So you've chosen to be a good boy and to offer up your own head, huh? It finally ends here.
Attiyah: Before that, please listen to what I have to say.
Attiyah: At first, I was the same. I thought that someone had to die in order for this tragedy to end.
Attiyah: My dad died, and then my mom. Even my home was taken away from me! What did I ever do to get this kinda life?
Attiyah: Sure, there was a time when we lived happily... But I'd always think about the man who attacked my dad. I'd see him even in my dreams...
Wahid: ...
Attiyah: But y'know, Wahid... Your precious daughter, Tabina, saved me from those depths of despair.
Attiyah: Our first encounter was so short, but sweet. How I longed to see her again... I was thinkin' about her all the time.
Attiyah: It was the first time since my dad died that I stopped thinkin' about the past. Tabina was like the sun, shinin' her light on me...
Tabina: Attiyah...
Wahid: Stop thinking about it? Hah, the sins of your grandfather will never disappear! Nor will mine!
Attiyah: You're right. My grandpa committed murder, then was murdered in retribution. And the tragedy that happened to my dad... These won't ever disappear.
Wahid: That's right... violence begets violence! If I don't finish you off, you'll have me killed sooner or later!
Attiyah: No... I won't take my revenge on you. True, I still carry the shadow of my dad with me... But I've made my decision.
Attiyah: I've decided to love—and that includes you, Wahid!
Wahid: W-what? What is this nonsense you're blabbering about!
Attiyah: You're the father of the one I love! You and I, we love the same person! Together, we can build a new future...
Wahid: A new future? Are you telling me to forget about the past? Impossible! Surely you will think of Qawi every time you see my face...
Attiyah: Yes, no doubt it'll be tough. For both you and me.
Attiyah: I know erasin' the past is easier said than done. If only we could, then no one would have to suffer.
Wahid: ...!
Attiyah: But I hope that someday... Someday! We'll be able to see eye to eye. I will wait for that day, no matter how long it takes.
Attiyah: I want to look for a future where we can laugh together, Wahid.
Wahid: Someday? Laugh? That's absolutely absurd!
Wahid: That'll only happen when the blood of your family no longer runs!
Tabina: Daddy, wait! Please, listen to what Attiyah is saying!
Wahid: ...
Tabina: Daddy... You've worked so hard for Mommy and me, and you showered us with love.
Wahid: So that you wouldn't have to go through what I did!
Tabina: I know... It's all thanks to you that I'm happy now.
Tabina: But, Daddy, have you ever laughed from the bottom of your heart? You were always anxious about something...
Wahid: ...!
Tabina: This sandstorm showed me what it was that you were afraid of.
Tabina: Attiyah said that the only way to get out of this dark, suffocating place is for him to love and embrace you.
Tabina: Attiyah is the type of person who speaks only the truth and keeps his word. Please, Daddy. Let's put an end to this.
Large tears roll down Tabina's cheeks as she desperately pleads for her father's love.
Attiyah walks over to Tabina and reaches out to brush away her tears.
Attiyah: Wahid... please. Trust me.
Tabina: Please, Daddy...
In their pleas, Attiyah and Tabina lower their heads in a deep bow.
Seeing this, Wahid quietly falls to his knees with a look of resignation on his face.
Wahid: ...
Wahid: Attiyah... I do not regret devoting myself to my revenge.
Wahid: But perhaps I was wrong in the way I carried out my revenge.
Wahid: Qawi had slipped through my fingers. Every day, I was afraid that he or his family would come to exact vengeance...
Wahid: I was afraid that they would take revenge by killing me, or by killing my precious daughter and wife.
Wahid: Hahaha! And now look at what I've become... A pathetic excuse for a father.
As Wahid laments on this, Attiyah walks up to him and gently extends his hand.
Attiyah: No. You are a great man who raised his daughter to be my shining sun.
Wahid: ...
Seeing his beloved's father lost for words, Attiyah pulls Wahid into a strong embrace.
Attiyah: I want to believe that, someday, we'll be able to embrace each other like this freely.
Wahid: Yes...
Attiyah and Wahid come to a compromise, concluding the tragic cycle between the two families.
The crew, who had been watching from a distance, feel a gentle air envelop them.
Attiyah: If Tabina and I had never met... And if my dad had told me about his past...
Attiyah: I might have devoted myself to revenge, just like Wahid...
Tabina: But that didn't happen. Perhaps it was destiny for us to meet, so that we could put an end to the tragedy.
Attiyah: Maybe it was. Ahahaha!
Stan: I'm so glad...
Fazal the Sage: Sniff, sniff... Hiccup...
Aliza: Fazal, you're crying too much...
Fazal the Sage: What are you saying? How can you not cry at a time like this! Snuffle, snuffle...
Vyrn: Hey, I keep hearing Ghost Gramps's voice—what's the deal with that?
Aliza: Oh, um... You see, he's kind of inside me...
Fazal the Sage: Hoohoohoo! I'm borrowing her body just for a teeny little while!
Vyrn: What!
Lyria: Eep!
Vyrn: Lyria?
Lyria: The primal beast... It's above us, (Captain)!
Lyria points up to the sky. The primal beast slowly reveals itself, rising up from the sandstorm.
Primal Beast: Groaaaar!
Wahid: I'm sorry... I'm afraid I can no longer control it...
Attiyah: Heh, no big deal. That means all we have to do is defeat it...
Attiyah: Can I count on everyone here?
  1. You betcha!

Choose: You betcha!
Stan: Time to show off the results of my training!
Fazal the Sage: Hoohoohoo... I'm itching to unleash some snazzy moves.
Aliza: ...
(Captain) and company ready themselves to face the primal beast that has finally revealed itself.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Chapter 6: The Brazen Blooms - Episode 4

Aliza teams up with (Captain) and the others to fight the primal beast. Fazal realizes that what is necessary to defeat the beast is love. Through Attiyah, Tabina, Stan, and Aliza's expressions of love, the beast has its barrier broken and is defeated by the crew.

Primal Beast: Groaaar!
Aliza: ...
Fazal the Sage: Hooo? What's the matter, Aliza?
Aliza: I feel like I'm about to... reach some sort of epiphany.
Aliza: What kind of martial arts was that anyway? It wasn't like the art without a name back at the temple.
Fazal the Sage: The martial arts I use are the same as your phoenix techniques. They're something adapted from mastering the art without a name.
Aliza: Tell me, Mr. Ghost. How can I master a technique and adapt it?
Fazal the Sage: Hm... First, you must discipline your mind—that's where you lack. Temper your mind into one that is strong and unwavering.
Fazal the Sage: In the midst of a raging sandstorm, find the path you must walk and don't stray from it. That is the state of selflessness.
Aliza: (At first, I just liked moving my body. That was all there was to it.)
Aliza: But now...
Aliza looks at Attiyah and Tabina, thinking back to how hard they worked to get their feelings across to Wahid.
Aliza: (My feelings might not be as strong compared to those two. But... I want to become stronger!)
Aliza: (I want the strength to keep on fighting with everyone, no matter what calamities we're faced with. I want the strength to protect the weak!)
Aliza: (And more than anything else, I want to spar with Stan and see how strong he's gotten from his journey, just like we promised.)
Aliza: That... is what I live for!
Fazal the Sage: Hoohoohoo! Aliza, that's all you need.
Fazal the Sage: If you can be true to yourself, that in itself is a form of strength.
Aliza: Fazal...
Fazal the Sage: The answer is in the everyday. To attain the state of selflessness, all you need to do is try!
Fazal the Sage: It is very unfortunate that I cannot battle the sacred object while I'm away from the mountain.
Fazal the Sage: Aliza, I shall devote my entirety to your aid. Now, go at it with all that you've got!
Aliza: Okay! Well... here I go!
With her mind made up, Aliza charges toward the primal beast before the rest of the crew and unleashes an attack on it.
Aliza: Raaah!
Fazal the Sage: Best not to provoke it too much, since we don't know what kind of attack it can do yet.
Fazal the Sage: Push unnecessary thoughts out of your head and focus. You must sharpen your mind... like a knife!
Aliza: Got it!
Aliza: Hi-yah! Hah!
Aliza: Eeee-yah!
Aliza follows what Fazal had taught her. Alternating between attacking and moving back, she unleashes a number of different kicks on the primal beast.
Stan: You're doing great, Aliza! I better get my game on too.
Stan: I'll show you how much I've grown from my training!
Stan: Hraaah!
Stan leaps up high into the sky and brings his sword down on the beast's head with all his might.
But something is amiss.
Stan: What was that?
Aliza: You felt it too, right?
Stan: Yeah. It felt like I hit a soft barrier and bounced back...
Fazal the Sage: Hm, you're right. It looks to me as if attacks are deflected just before they hit the beast's body.
Fazal the Sage: Now, what shall we do about that...
Primal Beast: Grr... Groaaar!
Lyria: Watch out, everyone!
The primal beast lets out a cry and swiftly brings its six arms down on the crew.
Attiyah: We'll just hafta keep holdin' it back 'til we think of a plan!
Tabina: I'll help too!
Together with Attiyah and Tabina, (Captain) makes a slash at the beast.
But like Stan and Aliza's attacks, (Captain)'s strike appears to have no effect.
Attiyah: All right, how should we go 'bout this...
Tabina: Daddy, did the head monk ever tell you anything about the primal beast?
Wahid: I've only heard that the primal beast will stop its rampage when all the hatred it has absorbed up until now disappears.
Tabina: I guess that's not much help for us now...
Primal Beast: Grrr... Groaaar!
The primal beast takes advantage of this moment and catches Tabina off guard, swinging its sword down on her.
Tabina: ...!
Attiyah: Tabina! Look out!
Tabina: I'm sorry I—Attiyah! You're bleeding!
Attiyah: It's nothin'. Just a scratch.
Primal Beast: Grrr...
Fazal the Sage: Hoohoooo?
Though it happened only for a split second, it doesn't escape the sage.
In the moment that Attiyah moved to protect Tabina, the primal beast's face had distorted slightly.
Fazal the Sage: Aliza! Maybe... Just maybe...
Aliza: Maybe what?
Fazal the Sage: The role of the primal beast is to protect the peace of the island by absorbing the hatred of its people.
Fazal the Sage: Upon absorbing Wahid's hatred, it reached its limit and went on a rampage.
Fazal the Sage: That means in order to appease the primal beast... there is only one thing to do!
Fazal the Sage: Think carefully about why they say the truth lies just beyond the state of selflessness...
Fazal the Sage: It is something that can be attained only by those who go past their limits—a space into which only few can enter.
Fazal the Sage: However, this can be taken in yet another way. It is also a state in which your imprisoned self is released, one that yields neither affliction nor evil thoughts.
Fazal the Sage: In other words, it is enlightenment. An enlightenment where one goes beyond the world of temptation and attains the truth!
Aliza: Hang on a second, Fazal. I have absolutely no idea what you're going on about!
Aliza: Can't you phrase it in a way that we can understand?
Fazal the Sage: In other words! The truth is love!
Fazal the Sage: And love is the truuuth!
Aliza: Huh?
Seeing Aliza frozen with a serious look on her face, Stan runs over to her.
Stan: Hey! What're you doing, zoning out like that in the middle of a fight...
Aliza: Love is the truth...
Stan: What?
Aliza: Hey, everyone! Fazal says the truth is love... and that love is the truth!
Aliza: He says that might be how we can deal damage to the primal beast!
  1. Got it!
  2. What do you mean?

Choose: Got it!
Vyrn: Wait, you sure you get it? That was all gibberish to me...
Vyrn: What exactly does that mean, (Captain)?
(Captain) falters and looks to Aliza for an explanation.
Vyrn: What the heck! You were just going with the flow, weren't ya!

Choose: What do you mean?
(Captain) asks Aliza for further explanation, but to no avail.
Continue 1
The crew remains confused at Fazal's words on love and truth.
Attiyah and Tabina, however, are able to grasp the meaning of the words immediately.
Attiyah: Ahaha! So that's how it is!
Attiyah: No matter the pain or resentment, there is only one thing that can take it all in...
Attiyah & Tabina: And that is love!
Attiyah: Blessed with this happiness
We have but one path to follow
Tabina: Together, our lives shine
Like the stars in the sky
Attiyah & Tabina: Saeada, we sing

Massir, we sing

Dreaming of what the sky may bring
Attiyah: Our breaths are in sync
As we swing our hips!
Tabina: Merrily, passionately
We move to a heavenly rhythm
Attiyah: O primal beast, hear our song!
Feel our love in your beastly heart!
Tabina: Attiyah! Let not your eyes stray!
Turn your gaze upon me, and only me...
Attiyah: Ahaha!
Tabina: Hehehe!
Attiyah and Tabina put their exuberant love on full display in front of the primal beast.
As Fazal had predicted, the primal beast whines faintly and its barrier begins to flicker.
Primal Beast: Grr.... rrrr....
Vyrn: Whoa, it's actually working!
Lyria: Attiyah! Tabina! Keep it up!
Attiyah: You got it!
Attiyah: All right... let's really give it to that beast!
Tabina: Stan! Aliza! Follow what we do, okay?
Stan: Huh?
Aliza: W-what do you mean follow?
Attiyah: There's absolutely nothin' to be ashamed of! Love is the truth—an everlasting and undying truth.
Tabina: Come! Let us sing songs of praise in the name of love!
Seeing their hesitation, Attiyah and Tabina take Stan and Aliza by the hand.
Attiyah: Now, Stan!
You must profess your feelings!
Tabina: Come, take courage!
Aliza, you must join hands!
Attiyah & Tabina: Feel your body tremble...
And declare your love in the face of the beast!
Tabina: Through a tempest of emotions,
What awaits you at the center is the truth.
Attiyah: At the root of all resentment is love.
The blade you raise...
Tabina: The blade of revenge...
Attiyah & Tabina: You must sheath it with love.
Aliza: Just wait a second! What's the deal here?
Stan: Relax, Aliza. Just don't think.
Aliza: What!
Stan: I-I know the timing's not that great and stuff...
Attiyah: No way. This is the perfect chance!
Tabina: Dear friend, surely happiness awaits you. You must be brave! Come!
Stan: Aliza... You know, I, um... I-I love y—
Aliza: Ahhh! I-I know what you want to say, okay! Ugh, this is so embarassing...
Covering Stan's mouth with both hands, Aliza turns to Attiyah and Tabina.
Aliza: Fine, I get it! I just have to do it too, right?
Tabina: Look at you, blushing like that... How adorable.
Attiyah: Well, let's get singin' then! Follow along with us!
Stan: Aliza!
Aliza: Yeah!
Stan and Aliza are engulfed by the warm and joyful atmosphere emitting from Attiyah and Tabina.
They toss away their embarassment and begin to let out the feelings that had been locked up deep inside their hearts.
Attiyah & Tabina: Love is the truth!
Aliza & Stan: And the truth is love!
Aliza: Our feelings must be free
For there to be meaning
Stan: We must be true to ourselves
So we can be true to one another
The Four: Your smile
Brightens my every day
The Four: You are the light
Light of my world!
The Four: You are the light
Light of my world!
The Four: This is my song
I love you!
Primal Beast: Groaaar! Grr... rrr...
As a manifestation of evil thoughts, the primal beast cannot but cower at their song and dance that is so full of love.
The joyful aura emitting from Attiyah and the others destroys the barrier and obstructs the beast's movements.
Vyrn: (Captain)! Now's your chance!
Fazal the Sage: Aliza! Take those fierce emotions and use them against the beast!
Aliza: In emptiness, even the fiercest of flames can be put out—thus what controls ferocity is the state of selflessness!
Aliza: All the things that Fazal has passed on to me... I'll keep them close to my heart as I fight!
(Captain) takes this chance that Attiyah and the others created for them and brings the blade down on the primal beast.

Dancing Avengers: Flames of the Heart - Ending

With his attachment to the world lifted, Fazal disappears into the heavens. The next day Stan decides to rejoin the crew and they get ready to leave. However, Attiyah finds out that his father is actually alive and waiting to exact revenge. He leaves by himself to search for his father, which in turn spurs Tabina to set out in pursuit of her beloved.

Primal Beast: Grrr... rrr...
Stan: Haha! We did it!
Aliza: Phew...
Fazal the Sage: Hoohoohoo! Well done, my little apprentice.
Aliza: Hehe...
Fazal the Sage: Hm?
Aliza: What's happening? Fazal!
Fazal the Sage: Aliza. Thanks to you, I am now free of attachments to this world.
Fazal the Sage: Consequently, as a spirit, I must leave this world and return to the sky.
Aliza: Fazal, wait! There's still so much I want to learn from you!
Fazal the Sage: You have attained the state of selflessness. From now on, you can adapt your techniques with your own power.
Fazal the Sage: But fear not. You have learned of the truth which is love, and have become the very embodiment of that.
Fazal the Sage: You must continue moving forward. If you do that, there is nothing you cannot accomplish!
Fazal the Sage: Hoooohoohoo!
Aliza: Wait, Fazal! Fazal!
Aliza: He's gone...
The primal beast manifested from the temple's sacred object has been defeated.
And Fazal the sage, now free from attachments to this world, vanishes along with the sandstorm.
Wahid: This is all because of me and my foolish mistakes. How can I even begin to apologize...
Vyrn: Heheh, don't worry about it! It's over now!
Attiyah: Yeah. The storm has passed us.
Wahid: Let's pray that it has...
Wahid: Attiyah... You taught me something very important that I will never forget.
I leave Tabina in your hands.
Attiyah: I'll take good care of her!
Wahid: And if it's not too much to ask... How would you like to work at Ahabak?
Wahid: With that strong willpower of yours, I'm sure you'll be able to eventually lead the guild.
Attiyah: I am very honored by your words... but please give me some time to think it over.
Attiyah smiles, flashing his white teeth.
The next day.
As (Captain) and the others prepare to set off again, Stan comes up to them with an apologetic look on his face.
Stan: Hey, (Captain), can I talk to you for a minute?
Vyrn: What's with the serious look? You doin' okay there, Stan?
Stan: Well, I just thought I should have a proper talk with you guys.
Stan: I know I said I wanted to go train by myself and just left like that...
Stan: But if you'll still have me, I'd like to travel with the crew again. (Captain), would it be okay if I went with you guys?
Seeing Stan's meek expression, (Captain) extends a welcoming hand and the two shake on it.
Stan: Haha, thanks, (Captain)! I was afraid you'd say no...
Vyrn: Heheh. C'mon, (Captain) would never do that!
Lyria: Yay! I'm so happy Stan's back with us!
Aliza: Welcome back, Stan.
Stan: Thanks, Aliza. I'm back.
Aliza: Now we gotta do what we promised and spar. It's about time you showed me the fruits of your journey.
Stan: You got it.
Vyrn: But ya know, it's too bad Ghost Gramps ain't here anymore...
Aliza: Yeah. I didn't think he'd disappear just like that... But before he left, he showed me the way to go from here.
Aliza: So I guess I just have to keep moving forward like he said!
Aliza looks up at the sky, thinking back to what Fazal told her. Just then, the low, rumbling sound of a gearcycle echoes from the distance.
Attiyah: Guuuys!
Tabina: Everyone!
Attiyah and Tabina wave enthusiastically as their gearcycle makes its way toward the crew.
Vyrn: Oh boy, I've got a bad feeling...
Lyria: Yeah...
Attiyah: Whoops! Wait a seco—
Tabina: Ahhh!
Just as Vyrn predicted, the gearcycle goes out of control, swerving left and right before finally flipping over.
Attiyah and Tabina tumble into the sand, laughing.
Attiyah: Ahaha! I just can't seem to get used to drivin' that thing!
Tabina: Hehe, I'm sure you'll get better with practice. Don't worry, I'll teach you everything!
Attiyah: I'm lookin' forward to it.
Stan: Haha, they look like they're having so much fun even though they're covered in sand. I'm so happy for them.
Aliza: Yeah. I guess that's what you'd call an ideal couple.
Stan: You know, we could be... an ideal couple too...
Aliza: Hm? Did you say something?
Stan: Oh... it's nothing, haha. Come on, let's help them get back on their feet!
Stan and Aliza run to where Attiyah and Tabina are rolling in the sand and help them up.
Tabina: Hehe, thank you.
Attiyah: Y'know, you guys really helped us out.
Attiyah: It's because of all of you that Tabina and I could meet again and end the tragic cycle between our families. Thank you.
Attiyah: It's sad seein' ya leave... but who knows? We might meet again somewhere under the sky.
Attiyah: I'll be lookin' forward to seein' you again!
Vyrn: Heheh, me too!
Tabina: I pray that your journey will continue to be a wonderful one!
Lyria: Thank you! I wish you the best too, Tabina!
Tabina: Thank you. I will live my life beside Attiyah as the happiest woman in the world!
Aliza: Ahaha, you look so happy! I'll have to learn a few things from you!
As Tabina says goodbye to the crew, Attiyah grabs Stan by the arm and leads him away from the others.
Stan: What is it, Attiyah?
Attiyah: Just thought I'd give my apprentice some last words of romantic advice, y'know?
Attiyah: Listen up. Love surpasses everythin'. Don't you ever forget that, no matter where you are or where you go.
Stan: I... I'm tired of hesitating all the time. I'm gonna be true to my feelings.
Stan: I wanna really treasure Aliza and have us be the happiest couple in the world, just like you and Tabina.
Stan: (And... it's gotten a bit flat, but I gotta give Aliza that golden flower.)
Stan and Attiyah give each other an encouraging pat on the back.
Just then, out of nowhere, a single arrow comes flying at Attiyah.
Attiyah snatches the arrow midair and is about to break it into two when he notices a letter attached to it.
Attiyah: What's this...
Attiyah: ...!
In his hand is a letter from his father, whom he'd thought had passed away.
In the letter, Attiyah's father explains his reason for having left his wife and child—and a most selfish reason, at that.
"The time is soon

The sky gives its omen
At the rise of a new moon
Dyed a shade of crimson

This grudge shall end"
The poem reveals that Attiyah's father, Qawi, had been preparing for his revenge and is now waiting for the right opportunity to strike.
Attiyah looks around for a trace of his father, but all he sees is sand extending far into the horizon.
Attiyah: (Are you kiddin' me! He just says what he wants and leaves... What kinda man is he!)
Stan: Hey, Attiyah... That letter, what does it say?
Attiyah: Don't worry 'bout it. It's just that...
Attiyah: Looks like I still have somethin' left to do... for the sake of my future with Tabina.
Stan can only watch as Attiyah stands lost in thought, a far-off look in his eyes.
Reluctantly, Stan makes his way back to the ship where the rest of the crew are.
Attiyah and Tabina say their final goodbyes, and the crew continue on their journey once more.
Tabina: And off they go...
Attiyah: Yeah...
Attiyah: Hey, Tabina. Can you tell Wahid for me that I won't be joinin' Ahabak just yet?
Tabina: Hmm... but for important things like that, I think you should tell him yourself, in person.
Attiyah: I wish I could...
Mumbling to himself, Attiyah turns to face away from Tabina.
Attiyah: Listen. It looks like my dad's actually alive.
Tabina: What?
Attiyah: It's not that I was hidin' it from you. I just found out myself... I was so surprised.
Attiyah: That sorry excuse of a dad... Seems like he was plannin' on takin' revenge on Wahid the whole time, and still is.
Tabina: ...
Attiyah: That's why... I'm gonna go find him and really knock some sense into him.
Tabina: Then I'm going too.
Attiyah: No. I can't let you be in any more danger, Tabina.
Tabina: I'm not some weak girl who can't protect herself, you know!
Attiyah: I know that! But... I want you to give me this chance to go alone.
Attiyah: He's hidin' out there somewhere. I'll find him, and really get it into his head that it's way past time for this tragic cycle to end!
Attiyah: I'll come back. I promise.
Attiyah: I'll come back to hold you in my arms once more.
Tabina: Attiyah...
Tabina reaches out to grab Attiyah's hand as he begins to walk away.
In that moment, a rush of wind blows up dense clouds of sand, obscuring Tabina's vision.
By the time the sand settles, Attiyah is nowhere to be seen.
Tabina: Hngh... Attiyah! Who said you could leave without hearing what I had to say!
Tabina: Did you think I'd just happily sit here and wait for you to come back to me?
Tabina: Leaving me here and going off on your own is simply out of the question!
Tabina hops onto her gearcycle. She starts up the engine and begins to drive around, frantically searching for Attiyah.
Tabina: Wait for me, Attiyah! Wherever you go, so will I!
Tabina: Qawi may be set on revenge, but he's the father of my beloved. We'll show him the extent of our love and get him to understand!
Tabina looks up at the sky and happens to catch sight of the Grandcypher as it waits for the blowing sandstorm to die down.
Tabina: (Hmm... I might have a better chance of finding Attiyah from up high.)
Tabina: What an incredible coincidence... No, this must be fate!
Just then, Tabina hears a clatter. A bow falls out from where it was being kept on the vehicle.
This can only be a sign from the gearcycle.
Tabina: You're telling me to use this?
Hehe. You were worried about me, weren't you?
Tabina: I'll have to take your advice then...
Tabina takes out a brush. She unties the ribbon in her hair and begins to write on it.
"A journey in the sky

Must be slow and steady
Hear your friend's cry
And take her into your company

To search for her beloved"
Tabina ties the ribbon to the arrow and launches it into the sky, toward the Grandcypher.
Tabina: Fly! Fly straight and true!
Tabina: Deliver my message to (Captain)!
The arrow flies at full speed toward the ship.
It soars across the heavens, its whistle a fanfare announcing the start of a new adventure.
Meanwhile, aboard the Grandcypher, (Captain) and the crew muse over their experiences on Tahar Island.
Vyrn: The sandstorms are one thing, but boy was this island full of surprises! They've really got some crazy customs goin' on!
Aliza: Haha, you can say that again. All the dancing and singing to express their emotions.
Lyria: Hehe. You and Stan did some wonderful dancing back there with the primal beast too!
Stan: Stop! Just thinking about it gets me embarrassed...
Vyrn: But you guys helped stop the primal beast in its tracks. That's sayin' something!
Lyria: Yeah! It must be the power of your love!
Stan & Aliza: Love?
Stan and Aliza grow conscious at the word "love," dropping their gazes as they glow red.
Stan: (But... they have a point. The fact that we were able to stop the primal beast means... there was love between us, right?)
Stan: (Come on, I gotta do it! I need to just... run up to Aliza... and hand it to her!)
Stan: Hey, Aliza...
Aliza: W-what?
Stan: You know, there's something I wanna
give y—
Suppressing the butterflies in his stomach, Stan reaches into his pocket and starts to pull out the pressed golden flower.
Vyrn: Hey, check it out! Looks like the storm's clearing up!
Lyria: That's great! Now we won't have to feel so sick from all the tossing!
Aliza: Haha, perfect! Our ride here was a total roller coaster ride...
Stan: ...
With his chance come and gone, Stan slowly pushes the pressed flower back into the depths of his pocket.
Aliza: Oh, Stan. Did you say you had something to give me?
Stan: Huh? Ohh, um... haha! It's nothing. Don't worry about it!
Stan: Who would've thought seeing a bit of sun could make you so happy!
Stan: If Attiyah and Tabina were here, I bet they'd start singing and dancing right about now.
Aliza: Hehe, they probably would.
Lyria: They might not be here... but we can still sing and dance all the same! Come on!
Aliza: Hey, wait!
Stan & Aliza: Aw man, give me a break!
Seeing Aliza and Stan protest, (Captain) and the others burst into laughter.
Above them, the sun shines bright in the clear, blue sky.
The crew bathe in the warm sunlight as they head toward a new chapter in their journey once again.
The End
