Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Opening

(Captain) and company stop at Yudhisthira Island for some rest. They prepare to enjoy their time in the sun when a giant fish being tailed by a gutsy woman appears out of the blue.

Lyria: Katalina! Over here, hurry!
Vyrn: Ah, hey, wait! Lyria! Come on, don't leave me behind!
(Captain) and company traverse the skies, searching for the Sky Map pieces that are the key to the new world.
As their journey continues, they make a pit stop at Yudhisthira Island in the Auguste Isles to refresh their minds and bodies.
Lyria: Geez! Come on, Katalina! It looks great on you, so why are you so embarrassed?
Katalina: Say, (Captain). I know we're on vacation, but is it necessary for me to wear this?
Katalina: I'm only going to relax on the beach. You, Lyria and the others can go in the water without me.
Vyrn: The sun's gonna cook you alive if you stay in your armor!
Katalina: No, I don't think that's...
Walder: You knights just never know when to give up!
Walder: Yours truly was also terrified at the thought of relinquishing his forest ranger gear.
Walder: But with this newly acquired gear, I've attained a new form! Henceforth, I shall be known as...
Walder: Ocean Ranger Walder! At your service!
Sierokarte: Looking sharp, everyone! I'm so glad to see my customers happy!
Sierokarte: Good thing I secretly took your measurements that night you all stayed at the Knickknack Shack... Ahem, ahem.
Sierokarte: I mean, what a perfect fit! Siero does it again!
Katalina: Wait a minute. What did you just say?
???: No! I swear I won't let you escape this time!
Katalina: Huh? What's going on?

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 1: Crisis at the Coast - Episode 1

Monsters swarm toward the woman as she pursues the giant fish. Lyria senses the presence of a primal beast in the fish and the crew hurries over to the ruckus.

???: !
???: You're a stubborn one, I'll give you that! Be nice and accept your fate!
Katalina: Is that... a fish? And there's a woman chasing after it...
Sierokarte: Oh, it's what's her name.
Lyria: Katalina! I can feel the presence of a primal beast, and it's coming from that fish!
Katalina: Are you serious? No, it can't be...
Vyrn: Oh no! A bunch of monsters are going after her!
Walder: Heh. This looks like a job for Ocean Ranger Walder!
Walder: Now, watch in awe as the green flash streaks across the beach at the speed of light!
Vyrn: You dummy, you're going the wrong way! Someone grab Walder and let's go after her!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 1: Crisis at the Coast - Episode 1: Scene 2

Before they can catch up to the woman, the crew deals with Walder's antics and monsters.

Walder: Vicious monsters block my path. Such is the fate of an ocean ranger.
Vyrn: Sigh. We don't have time for games, Walder.
Walder: My apologies.
Katalina: In any case, we have to hurry! I know where that woman and the fish are headed.
Katalina: Let's make quick work of these monsters and save her!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 1: Crisis at the Coast - Episode 2

The crew arrives at the scene, ready to rescue the woman. On the contrary, the fish was the one in trouble, and it manages to escape in the confusion.

Vyrn: Hey! Are you okay? We're here to rescue you!
???: What in the world? Where did this lizard come from?
???: ...
???: No!
Katalina: It appears that you are unharmed. What on earth was that fish?
???: Sigh. Do you landlubbers have any idea what you've done?
Lyria: Huh? Erm...
???: Aye, I thought as much. Let's go talk somewhere quieter.
???: You're here to rescue me, are you? You must have some skill, I bet. Come on, follow me.

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 1: Crisis at the Coast - Episode 2: Scene 2

The woman calls herself Sig and introduces the crew to her band of Druga Pirates. Miscommunication leads to a scuffle between the two parties.

Scallywag 1: Boss! Yer okay!
Scallywag 2: Welcome back, boss! Did ya reel 'im in?
???: Sorry, guys. I thought I had it for sure this time, but it gave me the slip.
Vyrn: Hey, who exactly is this lady?
Walder: Something feels off about all this. My Ocean Ranger-senses are tingling.
???: Hey! What are you muttering about?
Walder: N-nothing at all! Right, Vyrn?
Vyrn: O-of course! By the way, you're...
???: Aye, I haven't properly introduced myself yet.
Sig: My name is Sig. And this merry band of miscreants are my—
Scallywag 1: What's up with these sketchy folks, boss?
Sig: Bite your tongue, you knave! Be polite.
Sig: I was chasing Albacore when these guys—
Scallywag 2: Did you worms get in the boss's way?
Scallywag 1: So it's yer fault the big one got away from the boss! I'm gonna fillet you!
Lyria: Huh? But what did we do?
Sig: Pull in your sails for a second and hear me out—
Scallywag 2: Anyone who gets in our boss's way is goin' down!
Scallywag 1: Feel the wrath of the Druga Pirates!
Katalina: This won't do. We're going to have to knock some sense into them first if we want to continue this conversation.

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 1: Crisis at the Coast - Episode 3

Sig explains that as the seventh head of the Druga Pirates, it's her fate to continue chasing after the primal beast, Albacore. The crew offers to help but is rejected.

Sig: Really now. How many times do I have to tell you to let me finish talking?
Scallywag 1: Aye. Sorry.
Scallywag 2: I'm ashamed...
Sig: These scallywags are fishermen of the Druga Pirates. We call Yudhisthira Island home.
Sig: And I'm the seventh head of the Drugas.
Katalina: I see. Fishing's a pretty typical profession in Auguste.
Katalina: But do you catch huge fish like that one on Yudhisthira?
Sig: No. That was a primal beast, legacy of the Astrals.
Sig: It's called Albacore, and we Drugas have been hunting it for seven generations.
Katalina: Impossible! You're saying that thing is a primal beast?
Vyrn: Yeah! I mean, it just looks like a regular old fish!
Sig: Humph. I'd appreciate it if you didn't underestimate us. If that were a regular old fish, we'd have caught it years ago.
Lyria: If it's a primal beast then we can help.
Sig: That won't be necessary.
Lyria: But...
Sig: Now, if you'll excuse us, we have to go on patrol. Come on, you sea dogs.
Vyrn: Hey, wait up! Let's follow them for now, (Captain)!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 1: Crisis at the Coast - Episode 3: Scene 2

Sig makes it clear that she doesn't want any help from outsiders and sets off to hunt monsters.

Sig: Prick up your ears, because I'm only going to say this once.
The crew is startled by Sig's tone but she doesn't seem to notice.
Sig: The monsters and primal beast of Yudhisthira are all prey for the Drugas.
Sig: I accept that you have some skill but you're still tourists. So be good and go about your business.
Walder: Tourists? I'll have you know I'm an ocean ranger, warrior of the sea!
Katalina: We did come here for a vacation but...
Monster: Groaaar!
Sig: The lads and I will handle this. You lot go over there and have some fun, okay?
Vyrn: Psh, you're not the boss of us! C'mon, (Captain), we're fighting too!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 1: Crisis at the Coast - Episode 4

The crew persists in trying to convince Sig to let them help but it falls on deaf ears. She insists that the conflict is between the Drugas and Albacore, warning them not to interfere.

Sig: We Druga Pirates are the first line of defense for this island.
Sig: We swore to act as the protectors of Yudhisthira many generations ago.
Katalina: But don't you think it would be better to have more people guarding the island?
Katalina: Besides, we have our own reasons for pursuing primal beasts. If Albacore is one of them, we want to catch it too.
Sig: You sure are stubborn. Even with your beauty, you won't be able to reel in the love of your life like that.
Katalina: Huh? What does that have to with this?
Sig: Let me tell you something. We're bound to Albacore. 'Tis our fate.
Sig: From one generation to the next, each of our heads have never been able to fulfill their destiny.
Sig: This doesn't involve you, got it? Please don't interfere. All right you lot, patrol the shores and keep an eye out for Albacore!
Scallywags: Aye aye!
Walder: Yeesh. They're the stubborn ones if you ask me.
Vyrn: Still, we're not gonna give up and go home just because she said so!
Lyria: That's right! Let's go monster hunting too, (Captain)!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 1: Crisis at the Coast - Episode 4: Scene 2

The crew tries one more time to persuade Sig but are interrupted by monsters.

Sig: Unbelievable. After everything I've said, you still won't give up, will you?
Lyria: Sig!
Sig: What do you stand to gain by helping us?
Walder: We do only what our hearts tell us to. Justice is all the reason an ocean ranger needs!
Katalina: I guess you could say we're a bunch of do-gooders.
Lyria: If there's anything we can do to help, we simply can't ignore it!
Sig: Hah. Don't come crying to me when you get hurt.
Vyrn: Geez. What's her problem?
Katalina: It's a matter of pride. There's no helping it.
Monster: Roaar!
Vyrn: Whoa! Those monsters sure showed up quickly!
Vyrn: Looks like we gotta fight after all!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 1: Crisis at the Coast - Episode 4: Scene 3

Witnessing the hardheadedness of the crew, Sig finally relents and allows them to work together with the Druga Pirates.

Walder: Ugh! I can't seem to get my footing...
Lyria: Walder! Behind you!
Walder: What?
Monster: Grrrr!
Sig: You all right there, bucko?
Walder: Sig...
Sig: What a pitiful sight. You guys have absolutely no clue how to fight on a beach.
Sig: Still, you're a good-hearted bunch.
Sig: Plus, something tells me you're not good listeners. You got me. I won't try to stop you anymore.
Lyria: Yay! Thank you, Sig!
Sig: On one condition. We act together, all right?
The crew finally wears Sig down and are allowed to join in the defense of Yudhisthira Island.
And so, an alliance is formed with the Druga Pirates.

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 2: Fate and Destiny - Episode 1

Albacore follows a set route through the skies, passing by Yudhisthira Island at regular intervals. Sig deduces that the best chance of catching Albacore is on Yudhisthira.

Scallywag 1: C'mon! Pick up the pace, landlubbers!
Lyria: Haa... Please wait!
Sig: Hey! Quit giving our friends a hard time!
Scallywag 1: Yikes! Forgive me, boss!
The crew is helping the Druga Pirates with their patrols.
Sig: Right, then! Put some wind in your sails! Show (Captain)'s crew what we're made of!
Scallywags: Aye aye!
Sig: Hrm... So where were we?
Walder: Ah, yes. I believe I was halfway through Last Farewell, a tale involving me and Jade...
Katalina: Um, let's save that for another time, shall we?
Katalina: You were saying that Albacore migrates around the skydom?
Sig: Aye, that's right! That beast is constantly on the move.
Sig: Its speed is unbelievable. I've seen it rip holes through countless airships, as if they were made of paper.
Vyrn: Gulp. It could hit us too...
Sig: However, Albacore loses speed when it enters the water.
Sig: Furthermore, its migration pattern runs past Yudhisthira so it appears at fixed intervals.
Sig: Given these two conditions, our best chance of taking down that beast is here on this island.

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 2: Fate and Destiny - Episode 1: Scene 2

Burdened by the expectations of her fellow fishermen, Sig tries to strengthen her resolve.

Walder: A fate that lasts for seven generations is no joke.
Walder: I mean, the forest rangers have been entrusted with the forest for generations but...
Katalina: It's amazing that you've continued this battle with Albacore for so long.
Scallywag 1: Yeah, but our boss is definitely gonna be the one to end it!
Scallywag 2: Yeah, the boss is the greatest out of all of 'em! Uh, no offense to the previous generations...
Sig: It's all right. I'll be the one to settle the score this generation...

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 2: Fate and Destiny - Episode 2

Walder gives a rousing speech that stirs the spirits of (Captain) and the crew.

Scallywag 1: Oh ho, so yer travelin' to the end of the sky, ye say.
Walder: Correct. My name shall surpass even the sky, and echo throughout the world.
Katalina: Those lofty ambitions of yours just keep rising higher, don't they Walder?
Vyrn: There's nothing wrong with that! That's what makes him so dependable!
Vyrn: But we've got ambitions too! Isn't that right, (Captain)?

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 2: Fate and Destiny - Episode 2: Scene 2

Walder's weakness to crowds is exposed when they arrive at a bustling beach. The crew do their best to reassure Walder that it's no big deal.

Walder: Huh?
Sig: Hm? Is something wrong? Why are you cowering all of a sudden?
Walder: Er, no, I was just thinking that there are a lot of people here.
Sig: That's true, but what of it? Can't you just be your normal, enthusiastic self?
Walder: No no no, you've got it all wrong! As a forest ranger... No wait, right now I'm an ocean ranger...
Walder: Whatever! The point is, a ranger must always take clandestine actions!
Sig: Well, from what I've seen, you don't exactly seem the low-key type...
Vyrn: Hehe! Nice try, Walder! Truth is, he's not very good at dealing with busy places.
Walder: How dare you! The great Walder has no weaknesses!
Katalina: Sounds like the desperate words of a man at the end of his rope.
Lyria: Everyone has weaknesses, Walder. There's no need to hide them!
Walder: Is that so? Then is there anything even you wouldn't eat?
Lyria: Huh? Let me think. Umm...
Katalina: Well, it's good that you're not a picky eater, Lyria! I'm jealous!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 2: Fate and Destiny - Episode 3

The Drugas and the crew share a moment of fun at Sig's expense.

Walder: Hi-yah!
Monster: Gyaah!
Scallywag 1: Nice one! Not bad, bucko!
Walder: Er, you think so? I mean, it was nothing special...
Scallywag 2: Aye, ye might even be better than us! Say, wanna be a Druga?
Walder: Sorry, but I belong to (Captain)'s crew. I can't just pick up and leave.
Scallywag 1: Ye'll love callin' Sig the boss too, ye know. I can guarantee ye that.
Walder: Er... I'm not sure what you mean...
Vyrn: Are they always like this?
Sig: Sigh. I'll train them properly one of these days.

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 2: Fate and Destiny - Episode 3: Scene 2

Sig promises to hold a banquet for the crew after dealing with Albacore.

Vyrn: So I was wondering, do the Druga Pirates actually do any fishing?
Sig: Of course we do! We're still fishermen, after all.
Sig: Once this is all settled, we'll have a grand feast featuring the freshest catches of the day.
Sig: It's the least we can do to thank you for helping us.
Lyria: Yay, seafood! Is that a promise, Sig?
Sig: Aye, 'tis a promise! Now, let's clear these vermin!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 2: Fate and Destiny - Episode 4

Sig asks about the leadership of crew. She seems to question her own abilities as a captain.

Sig: There's been something on my mind. (Captain)'s the captain, yeah?
Vyrn: You got it! (Captain)'s super dependable!
Katalina: Hehe. The captain can be a little reckless at times, but (Captain)'s always been there for us.
Walder: Even I, the great Walder, must recognize (Captain)'s true strength!
Lyria: He might not be the most experienced captain, but we can always rely on him.
Sig: Is that so. You've got yourselves a good captain indeed. I must say I'm envious.

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 2: Fate and Destiny - Episode 4: Scene 2

A clean hole through a rock wall shows how much destruction Albacore is capable of. Sig changes her mind and takes it upon herself to stop Albacore from destroying the island.

The patrol stops by a wall of rock to inspect an unbelievable sight.
Lyria: That hole is huge! I can see right through to the other side!
Sig: Albacore must've pierced through this wall.
Vyrn: Are you saying that a fish can bust holes in solid rock?
Sig: I keep telling you, it looks like a fish, but it's still a primal beast.
Sig: We keep them hidden from the tourists, but there are marks like these all over the island.
Sig: Albacore has been chipping away at Yudhisthira for quite some time.
Lyria: So that's the situation. We have to work together and do something fast!
Sig: No.
Lyria: Huh?
Sig: No. You're wrong. 'Tis not we. I have to stop it myself!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 2: Fate and Destiny - Episode 4: Scene 3

Sig has a captain-to-captain talk with (Captain) in private. She feels better but Siero arrives, bearing news of Albacore's next destination.

(Captain) is checking equipment alone when Sig drops by.
Sig: Could we talk for a minute? Don't give me that look. I'm not going to bite.
Sig: I just thought it might be good to have a chat, captain to captain.
Gran is the Main Character

Sig: I'm impressed, (Captain). You're still so young, and yet you meet everyone's expectations admirably.
Sig: Hm? People look up to me? I suppose some do.
Sig: They put their faith in me, but I haven't been able to prove that I deserve it.
Djeeta is the Main Character

Sig: You know, I was surprised to see that someone your age could be such a great captain.
Sig: You're really something, (Captain). I've been trying to do the best that I can, but...
Sig: It's not enough. I haven't been able to live up to their expectations.
Sig: If I can defeat Albacore and cast off this fate that's dogged us for seven generations, I'll finally be able to look them in the eye with pride.
Sig: But when that primal beast appeared before me, I truly wondered if I could stop it.
Sig: What do you think, (Captain)? Do you think I can meet their expectations?
  1. Let's work together.
  2. You got this.

Choose: Let's work together.
Sig: Together, huh? I wonder if they'll still acknowledge me if I do...

Choose: You got this.
Sig: Heh. Easy for you to say. Well, thanks for the encouragement.
Continue 1
Sig: I feel better now that I've talked to you.
Sig: Guess it's time to head back to the others.
Sierokarte: Sig! Oh, you're here too, (Captain).
Sig: What is it? You look excited.
Sierokarte: A message just came in! It seems we might have a lock on where Albacore's going to show up next!
Sig: I see. We must hurry back.
Sig: The time to prove myself has come sooner than I expected!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 3: The Cave of Misgivings - Episode 1

Based on eyewitness reports, Albacore is expected to pass by Harjuna Cave. They all set off for the cave in high spirits.

Sierokarte: If I may be so bold, the Knickknack Shack's very own Siero is here to explain the situation!
Sierokarte: According to eyewitness reports and the trail it's left behind, here's our prediction of Albacore's path.
Siero unfurls a map and points to a line drawn across it.
Sierokarte: If you consider Albacore's speed and its migration pattern around this island...
Sierokarte: It's probably going to pass by here, Harjuna Cave, very soon.
Sig: Perfect. There shouldn't be any tourists or islanders there.
Scallywag 1: This is it, boss.
Sig: Aye! Let's be off, you sea dogs! This is the last time Albacore roams free!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 3: The Cave of Misgivings - Episode 1: Scene 2

The crew must fight off monsters before they can enter the cave.

Katalina: This cave is flowing with water. I guess places like this are common in the Auguste Isles.
Sig: Is it that unusual? Sorry, but you'll have to save the sightseeing for next time.
Monster: Grrrr!
Sig: We'll need to fight our way in! Give it your all!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 3: The Cave of Misgivings - Episode 2

The party fumbles through the dark cave. Despite the possibility of ambushes, the mood is surprising light.

Lyria: Ungh, it's so dark and slippery in here. I feel like something's going to jump out at us...
Katalina: Are you all right, Lyria? If you feel like you're going to slip you can take my arm—
Katalina: Eep!
Sig: You okay? Don't try to act all cool if you're just going to slip and fall yourself.
Katalina: Oof. How embarrassing.
Vyrn: Hehehe! I can just fly—
Vyrn: Yeowch!
Lyria: Vyrn? Was that you? Be careful, the ceiling's low here—
Lyria: Eek!
Lyria: Ow... I bumped into something.
Sig: For crying out loud... Is everyone all right? Just walking through the cave is dangerous enough, but I'll remind you there are monsters too. Stay on your toes!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 3: The Cave of Misgivings - Episode 2: Scene 2

Walder keeps up his usual bravado as the crew heads deeper in. The monsters have no patience for Walder's tomfoolery.

Monster: Grrrr!
Walder: Here it comes! Prepare to be punished by the great ocean ranger—
Walder: Waaah!
Walder: Urgh. To think that someone like me could slip... No! It must've been a trap set by those sneaky monsters!
Sig: Aye, that must be it. So how long are you going to sit there for? You're easy pickings!
Walder: Hey wait! I'm still preparing for battle! Hey!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 3: The Cave of Misgivings - Episode 3

The air grows colder as they go farther in. Sig discusses the finer points of island battle tactics.

Katalina: Brrr! I would've worn my armor if I'd known it was going to be this cold.
Sig: Seriously? If you were wearing armor, you'd barely be able to crawl, let alone swim.
Katalina: But it'd be safer to wear armor while fighting monsters and such, wouldn't you agree?
Sig: Hah! When you go into battle, you already know there's no guarantee of safety.
Sig: You either attack or be attacked. Charging in and being prepared for the worst is how we do things here on Yudhisthira!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 3: The Cave of Misgivings - Episode 3: Scene 2

Walder tries to regale the party with his tales but is interrupted by monsters.

Walder: Ahh, this pitch-black cave really brings back memories of my adventures back in the day...
Walder: The cavern that Jade and I explored was cold and mysterious, just like this one.
Walder: We walked cautiously, step by step, when—
Monster: Groaar!
Walder: Ah yes, a monster suddenly appeared behind us, just like that.
Vyrn: Snap of out it, Walder! That's a real monster coming for us!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 3: The Cave of Misgivings - Episode 4

Lyria is unable to sense Albacore and the party fears they may be heading toward a dead end. Sig informs them that dead ends don't apply to Albacore.

Sig: How about it, Lyria? To my understanding, you're able to detect the presence of primal beasts.
Sig: Do you sense it anywhere in this cave?
Lyria: Hrm... I feel a faint hint of something, but I can't really tell...
Katalina: Hold that thought. Aren't we heading toward a dead end?
Katalina: If Albacore never stops moving on its migration, it would never swim into a dead end.
Sig: There's no such thing as dead ends as far as that beast's concerned.
Sig: Of course they tried using nets and cages to try to catch it many years ago.
Sig: Regardless of the material used or magic cast, that thing ripped right through them.
Katalina: I see. Then we'll have to continue to focus and keep our wits about us.
Sig: Aye, proceed with caution. Albacore could come flying in at any moment!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 3: The Cave of Misgivings - Episode 4: Scene 2

The cave path leads to a dead end with no signs of Albacore anywhere. However, Harjuna Cave is home to another monster.

Sig: What? A dead end?
Katalina: I don't see any holes that Albacore could've squeezed through.
Lyria: Maybe it's hiding somewhere?
Walder: Surely these forest-trained eyes of mine would've spotted it in the dark by now...
Vyrn: Um, what's that?
Kraken: ...
Katalina: Looks like we've wandered into some other monster's territory.
Sig: It doesn't look like it's going to let us leave either. Show no quarter, (Captain)!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 3: The Cave of Misgivings - Episode 4: Scene 3

The monster is driven away but the crew is disappointed to go back empty-handed. Just then, a young girl's voice comes echoing through the cave.

(Captain) and company are able to fend off the attacking monster.
However, they find no clues in Harjuna Cave that can lead them to Albacore.
Katalina: In the end, we're back to where we started.
Sig: Come now, keep your chin up. We'll get another chance.
Vyrn: Shouldn't you be feeling down, Sig? Especially after coming all the way out here for nothing?
Sig: I wouldn't say it was for nothing. At the very least, I regained some confidence in myself.
Sig: Being with all of you has restored my conviction. The next we meet Albacore, I'm sure I'll—
???: This is bad, bad, bad! It's a disaster!
A young girl's voice echoes through the cave, interrupting Sig.
The crew doesn't know it yet, but she is about to reveal to them an unimaginable turn of events.

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 4: Advent of Chaos - Episode 1

Io rushes into the cave with news that Albacore has been spotted all over the island. The party hurries toward the exit to assess the situation.

Io: It's an emergency, (Captain)!
A flustered and out of breath Io appears from the darkness of the cave.
Katalina: Io! What's wrong?
Io: It's that fishy primal, Albacore! It's popping up all over the island!
Sig: What? How can that be?
Io: Don't ask me! People are reporting sightings of Albacore everywhere!
Katalina: Well, we're not going to figure it out by staying in here.
Sig: So it would seem. Let's get back to the others, (Captain)!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 4: Advent of Chaos - Episode 1: Scene 2

Io is unable to provide any more information, which only makes Lyria's unease grow. What awaits them outside the cave?

Io: I've only heard about this from others, so I don't really know what going on.
Lyria: I have a bad feeling about this. There's a tight feeling in my chest...
Sig: Whatever this is, it's something we've never seen before.
Vyrn: Oh no... Now I'm starting to feel nervous.
Walder: No matter what kind of opponent arises, an ocean ranger never yields!
Katalina: Haha, that's our Walder! Head for the exit, (Captain)!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 4: Advent of Chaos - Episode 2

Even Sig doesn't know much about the enemy she has been fighting for so long. Is it possible that multiple Albacore have shown up at once?

Io: So, uh... do you really think that a bunch of Albacore showed up all at once?
Sig: Who can say? Albacore has been my sworn enemy for so many years, but it's still a mystery to me.
Katalina: This is a primal beast we're talking about, after all. It's safe to say that common sense doesn't always apply.
Walder: Humph. Common sense exists only to be smashed!
Vyrn: Nah, I think you could use a little more common sense, actually.
Walder: What was that?
Lyria: Now, now, it's all right! That's what makes Walder so interesting!
Io: Well, I say that Lyria has the same problem as... mmph?
Katalina: Ha! Aha ha ha... Come on, you guys. Let's keep moving!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 4: Advent of Chaos - Episode 2: Scene 2

Io and Lyria begin to panic in the dark. Katalina tries to calm them down but Sig makes matters worse with a tale of a ghost ship.

Io: Eek! Did you see that?
Lyria: H-huh? W-where?
Katalina: Haha. Calm down, you two. I'm sure it was just your imagination.
Lyria: Yeah... W-wait, was that a ghost just now?
Io: Hey, cut it out! There's no such things as ghosts!
Sig: You're saying ghosts don't exist? I'm not sure about that.
Io: Liar! Are you saying you've seen a ghost?
Sig: No, I haven't, but I did hear a rumor about a ghost ship recently...
Sig: They say it skulks through the fog, manned by a crew of ghosts!
Lyria: Eeek! Io! What's that!
Io: Humph! Don't try to scare me like that!
Monster: Grrrr!
Katalina: No, Io, it's a monster! We have to fight back, (Captain)!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 4: Advent of Chaos - Episode 3

Io and Walder get into a spat as everyone's patience begins to wear thin.

Io: Ngh... I'm so sick and tired of this dumb cave.
Walder: Is this cave too much for you? Forest rangers traverse countless numbers of forests and caves!
Walder: I, the great Walder, can't help but laugh! Ha ha ha!
Io: Stuff it, bandana man!
Lyria: Sigh. Please don't fight!
Vyrn: Uh-oh. Maybe everyone's getting cranky because this cave's so cramped.
Katalina: Well, those two would probably be fighting anyway. Just keep moving!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 4: Advent of Chaos - Episode 3: Scene 2

Monsters block the exit but the party charges straight ahead.

Vyrn: I see it! There's the exit!
Monster: Grrrr!
Katalina: Monsters are blocking our way out. It's as if they don't want us to escape.
Sig: Those vermin think they can stop us?
Sig: They've got some guts, but they should really take a look at who they're dealing with! Kick 'em out, (Captain)!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 4: Advent of Chaos - Episode 4

The party finally leaves the cave. At that moment, Lyria senses not one, but multiple presences of primal beasts.

Lyria: Huh? Ah!
Katalina: What is it, Lyria? Why are you...
Lyria: I can feel it.
Sig: Really? Is Albacore coming this way?
Walder: In that case, I, the great Walder, will defeat it before he can attack!
Io: Whatever! Stop saying things that are never going to happen!
Walder: Yeesh... You don't have to be so harsh about it...
Lyria: No, that's not right!
Walder: Oh! See, Lyria understands me. That primal beast doesn't stand a chance.
Lyria: Sorry, that's not what I meant...
Lyria: It's not coming toward us.
Lyria: It's kind of far away but I sense a lot of them!
Vyrn: No way! We've gotta see it for ourselves! Come on, no time to rest!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 4: Advent of Chaos - Episode 4: Scene 2

Lyria detects multiple primal beasts. As the party struggles with this new information, they are attacked by monsters.

Katalina: Several primal beasts? I wonder what could be happening on this island.
Io: Do other primal beasts besides Albacore ever appear on this island?
Sig: Not to my knowledge. The stories my ancestors told me never mentioned something like that.
Sig: I've heard that a serpentine primal beast rules over the seas of the main island of Auguste.
Lyria: It's not just two, though. There are so many that I can't count them all!
Monster: Grrrr!
Sig: The situation is getting out of hand. We need to deal with these small fry and rejoin the others!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 4: Advent of Chaos - Episode 4: Scene 3

The crew meets up with Sierokarte when a school of Albacore appears before their eyes.

Sierokarte: Hey, guys! I'm so glad you're okay!
Sig: Siero! What in the world is going—
Albacore: ...
Albacore: ...
Albacore: ...
Sig: —on?

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 5: A School Visit - Episode 1

Sig and the crew are dumbfounded by the number of Albacore before them. Even so, they must deal with monsters lured in by the school of Albacore.

Albacore: ...
Sig: Do my eyes deceive me? How's this possible?
Sierokarte: I have no idea! They all suddenly showed up and surrounded the island.
Sig: What...
Scallywag 1: Boss! Ye gotta stay calm!
Io: So that's what people meant when they said they saw it everywhere.
Vyrn: Don't look now, but monsters are being lured in by the Albacore!
Walder: What a sticky situation. This is the perfect time for my true strength to shine!
Vyrn: Cool!
Vyrn: Oops! Forget I said that! Let's do it, (Captain)!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 5: A School Visit - Episode 1: Scene 2

The party defeats monster after monster but there doesn't seem to be any end in sight. For now, all they can do is fight.

Katalina: As the number of Albacore increases, so do the number of monsters.
Lyria: This is the first time I've ever been scared of fish...
Io: How can primal beasts just suddenly multiply like that? What's up with these fish?
Walder: The way I see it, there must be a leader somewhere...
Io: Ahh! I don't want to hear any more of your theories! Let's just beat up these monsters already!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 5: A School Visit - Episode 2

Sig goes into shock at the sight of so many Albacore. (Captain) and company must protect the island in her stead.

Sig: How many generations of toil have we endured chasing but a single Albacore.
Sig: And now... there are so many...
Scallywag 1: Boss...
Io: Hey, get a grip, will ya? You call yourself the boss?
Katalina: It is what it is. It's only natural that she's in shock.
Katalina: We have to do what we can. That's probably our best option right now.
Vyrn: Right! For now, we'll defend the island for Sig!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 5: A School Visit - Episode 2: Scene 2

Sig shakes out of her funk and rouses the pirates to fight back against the Albacore. Meanwhile, the crew handles more monsters.

Scallywag 1: Boss...
Sig: Heh... Hehehehe...
Scallywag 2: Uh, boss?
Sig: Ahahaha! Is that all you got, you sad excuses for fish?
Sig: Tens? Hundreds? I don't care how many of you there are! You'll never match the might of the world's best fishermen!
Sig: Grab your harpoons! Don't you dare let these lousy fish look down on us!
Scallywag 1: Yeaaah!
Scallywag 2: That's our boss!
Katalina: Hehe. Looks we don't have to worry about her after all.
Io: Don't look down on us either! Kick those monsters' butts!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 5: A School Visit - Episode 3

A reinvigorated Sig and the pirates knock out monsters while the crew provides support.

Sig: Hahaha! What a catch! Monsters, fish, and primal beasts... Haul them all in!
Scallywags: Aye!
Vyrn: Whoa! Look at 'em go! That's the real strength of the Drugas!
Lyria: I'm glad Sig seems to be in good spirits again!
Katalina: Indeed. A gloomy face doesn't really suit her. We can't slack off, either!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 5: A School Visit - Episode 3: Scene 2

In the midst of battle, Walder spots a huge shadow in the distance but Io brushes it off.

Walder: Hm?
Io: What is it? You've been scowling off into the distance.
Walder: Well, I thought I saw a gigantic shadow over there...
Io: Yeah, an Albacore, right? There's a ton of them!
Walder: No, it was much larger than any of these Albacore.
Io: Huh? Maybe you got it mixed up with a cloud.
Walder: I guess that's possible. I could've sworn I saw something though...
Io: C'mon, c'mon, don't space out! You too, (Captain)! There are still monsters to deal with!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 5: A School Visit - Episode 4

With monster numbers dwindling, the critical turning point is approaching fast. Sig and the crew prepare to bring an end to seven generations of conflict.

Sig: The swarm of monsters is finally winding down.
Sig: It's time to confront the Albacore, wouldn't you say?
Vyrn: Yeah! Just a little more to go!
Katalina: Still, just how many of these primal beasts are there?
Sig: Hah! All the more reason to fight! This is it, mateys!
Sig: I'm going all out, so make sure you keep up with me, (Captain)!
Albacore: ...
Sig: Huh. 'Tis strange.
Sig: It wasn't that long ago that I had doubts about facing even a single Albacore.
Sig: But now, as I stand before an entire school of them, I feel as if I can't lose.
Sig: It must be thanks to you, (Captain).
Vyrn: See? (Captain)'s surprisingly reliable!
Sig: I wouldn't say it's surprising at all. Thank you for putting my heart at ease.
Sig: I can finally break this loop of fate once and for all!
Sig: Prepare yourself, Albacore! Our eternal struggle ends now!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 6: A Fateful Finish - Episode 1

Sig and the crew manage to take down an Albacore but an even bigger Albacore appears. Before they can come to terms with the Giant Albacore, they must take care of monsters first.

The battle with Albacore is long and arduous but Sig and the crew emerge victorious.
Katalina: We did it but there are still so many of them.
Katalina: Just what exactly is Albacore?
Io: I don't know, but for now, we've just gotta take 'em all down!
Sig: That's the spirit, Io! These Albacore might as well be guppies!
Sig: We're just getting started. I'll show you how a real fisherman... fights...
Sig: What is that?
Io: Huh?
The crew follows Sig's gaze to the creature that looms behind Io.
Giant Albacore: ...
Walder: Heh... Heheh... This is a joke, right?
Giant Albacore: ...
Sig: That can't be real. Is this a nightmare?
Io: I wish, but it's real. My cheeks hurt from pinching.
Giant Albacore: ...
The Giant Albacore slowly approaches the party while they discuss what to do.
Walder: What do we do? Should we defeat it? Uh, can we defeat it?
Monster: Grrrr!
Katalina: Tch. And now monsters are coming, too.
Katalina: At this rate, fighting or running from that beast won't be an option!
Katalina: (Captain)! First things first, we need to push back these monsters!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 6: A Fateful Finish - Episode 1: Scene 2

While the party continues to fight monsters, the Giant Albacore slowly, but steadily approaches.

Giant Albacore: ...
Io: It's, uh, getting closer you guys...
Katalina: We're lucky it doesn't move very quickly. Maybe because it's so big?
Sig: No, I'd hardly say luck is on our side.
Sig: The monsters are gathering faster.
Io: Ungh! Where are these dumb monsters coming from?
Sig: Whining about it isn't going to make them leave. Suck it up and fight!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 6: A Fateful Finish - Episode 2

According to Lyria, the smaller Albacore and the Giant Albacore are all part of a single primal beast. They need a plan but defeating monsters is their top priority.

Giant Albacore: ...
Sig: Tell me, Lyria, is this Albacore's true form?
Lyria: Yes, I think so.
Lyria: All of these Albacore and that enormous one together make up one primal beast.
Katalina: So it's like a colony. That's quite the formidable adversary.
Walder: The problem isn't just the numbers... How do we beat that mountain-like creature?
Io: What's wrong with you? How can you become a crybaby at a time like this?
Walder: I'm no crybaby! I was just a little surprised, that's all!
Vyrn: Ngh... We're in a real pinch here.
Monster: Grrrr!
Katalina: Humph. Doesn't look like these monsters are too sympathetic about our situation.
Katalina: That Albacore can wait! Focus on the enemies before you!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 6: A Fateful Finish - Episode 2: Scene 2

The Druga Pirates momentarily lose their will in the face of a terrifying enemy. However, Sig rallies her crew to protect their home.

Giant Albacore: ...
Scallywag 2: Ahhh!
Sig: Oh please, a fisherman shouldn't be afraid of a fish, even if it's a primal beast!
Walder: Erm, isn't it a bit unreasonable to call that humongous thing a fish?
Sig: A fish is a fish! And even if it isn't, we can't be afraid of it.
Sig: Because we're the protectors of Yudhisthira Island! Let me hear your battle cry!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 6: A Fateful Finish - Episode 3

Sierokarte brings more bad news which sends the pirates into a panic. Sig's impassioned words bring them back to their senses.

Sierokarte: Bad news, everyone!
Io: We know already! Big, stinky fish-beasts are here to wreck up the place!
Sierokarte: That's not all! All the tourists and islanders are in a tizzy!
Sierokarte: They're all trying to leave the island at once, and now the whole harbor's in chaos!
Katalina: That's not good. If they all flee now...
Sig: They'll be sitting ducks for the smaller Albacore.
Sig: Listen up! In the name of the Druga Pirates, we can't allow a single person be harmed!
Sig: Leave this to me and (Captain)'s crew. Get to the harbor and restore order!
Scallywag 1: Hold up a sec, boss! What're you going to do?
Sig: I told you, I'm staying here! Don't ask stupid questions!
Scallywag 2: Stay here and do what?
Sig: What do you think? I'm going to face that Albacore.
Scallywag 2: There's no way anyone can beat that thing, boss! Let's make a break for it, too!
Sig: What idiocy are you spouting now? Don't be ridiculous!
Katalina: No, that's a viable option. We need a piece of the Sky Map, but it's a primal beast, after all.
Katalina: Primals are like natural disasters. Simply standing up to it isn't a good idea.
Sig: Ngh... I...
Scallywags: Boss!
Sig: I know! I know we have no chance of winning. I know there's no need to fight a futile battle!
Sig: But that changes nothing! The six generations that came before me stood and fought!
Sig: They should've left it alone! Who'd be crazy enough to fight a beast that can raze an entire island? They could've run and lived!
Sig: But they didn't. How big was the enemy? How strong was it? It didn't matter. Protecting the island was what mattered!
Sig: I'm the leader of the Druga Pirates! I've inherited the will of all the leaders before me!
Sig: So I'll stay and I'll fight, because I'm a Druga Pirate!
Scallywag 1: Boss...
Katalina: Heh. Well, it's probably none of my business but...
Katalina: Is that the best answer you Druga Pirates can muster?
Scallywag 2: No! It's just... I can't believe how blinded by fear I was.
Sig: Well, don't just stand there staring! What do you say?
Scallywags: Yarrr!
Io: Heehee. A little over the top, but overall, not too shabby.
Vyrn: All right! In that case, we'll clear these monsters out and open up a path!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 6: A Fateful Finish - Episode 3: Scene 2

Sig, (Captain), and the crew send the fishermen off to the harbor to restore order. The situation is dire but everyone is determined to stop the Albacore.

Sig, (Captain), and the crew send the fishermen off to the harbor to restore order.
Sierokarte: The people of the island all trust the fishermen, so everything should be fine now!
Sig: Not so fast Siero.
Sig: The situation hasn't improved that much.
Sig: Quite the opposite. If we can't stop them, then who knows how much damage they'll do to the island.
Sierokarte: Hee hee hee. But you'll stop them, won't you?
Sig: Aye, we'll stop them.
Sig: The stage is set! I won't take a single step back!
Sig: Have you steeled yourselves? We've got one shot at this, (Captain)!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Chapter 6: A Fateful Finish - Episode 4

The Giant Albacore is intimidating but Sig and the crew refuse to back down. Together, they stand ready to challenge Albacore head-on.

Giant Albacore: ...
Sig: Unbelievable. Its size gets more absurd the more I look at it.
Sig: I've been a fisherman for a long time, but this is far bigger than anything I've ever encountered.
Sig: In my experience, the bigger they are, the stronger they are.
Io: No way! That makes this Albacore the strongest of them all!
Sig: Exactly! Primal beasts are truly frightening.
Vyrn: Geez. I don't want to hear that, seeing we have to fight that thing.
Sig: Aye, that's true. And yet, I don't feel as if all hope is lost.
Sig: What about you, (Captain)? You haven't given up on me, have you?
  1. Of course not!
  2. Why would I give up?

Choose: Of course not!
Sig: Heh... I'm glad we're on the same page. You really know how to make an impression on someone.

Choose: Why would I give up?
Sig: Hahaha! You said it! Giving up won't change a single thing!
Continue 1
Sig: I knew I was right about you, (Captain).
Katalina: Goodness... Whatever the situation may be, that's our captain for you.
Katalina: Well, I suppose that's how we've been able to get this far.
Walder: Oh ho, it looks like the legend of Walder is about to gain another exciting chapter.
Lyria: No matter how bad things get, I know we'll be all right as long as we're together!
Sig: I must say you mateys are the best! Now, let's settle this once and for all!
Giant Albacore: ...
Walder: Now that I see it up close again, it's terrifyingly huge.
Vyrn: You know, I could be this big too, someday.
Lyria: Ooh! Then let me ride on your back, okay?
Katalina: Lyria, Vyrn... Given the present situation, can't you be a little more serious?
Io: Sheesh. We're gonna get neck cramps if we keep staring up at it like this.
Sig: Haha, that's true! Then let's get down to business!
Giant Albacore: ...
Sig: Albacore... We appear to be nothing more than chum to you.
Sig: But take a good look at who stands here today!
Sig: It took seven generations, but I, Sig, leader of the Druga Pirates, have come for your head!
Sig: What do you say, Albacore? Your destiny ends now, by my hands!

Dark Giant of the Blue Sea - Ending

Albacore is defeated at the hands of Sig and a grand feast is held to commemorate the occasion. With the island at peace, the crew sets off once more.

Katalina: Sig, it went that way!
Sig: Thanks, leave it to me!
Giant Albacore: ...
Sig: Albacore... Without a doubt, you're the greatest prey I've ever faced.
Sig: That's why I shall be the one to bring you down! Prepare yourself!
Giant Albacore: ...
Sig: Yaaah!
Sierokarte: Okay, everyone! Yudhisthira's signature fish dish is served!
Lyria: Wow! It looks delicious!
Katalina: This is a luxurious meal. I must thank you.
Sig: It's fine, it's fine! I couldn't have done it without you! Plus, I made a promise to Lyria, after all.
Vyrn: Mmm. It's not as sweet as an apple, but it's pretty good!
Io: I've never really liked the look of fish...
Katalina: Now, now, you're never going to grow if you're picky.
Scallywag 1: Hey, bandana man! Come tell us yer tale from before!
Walder: Eh, fine with me! It all started on that sweltering, hot day. It'd been a year since I'd met Jade and...
Sierokarte: Hehehe. Looks like everybody's having fun in their own way.
Sig: Aye. 'Tis a relief knowing that the threat of Albacore is finally gone.
Sig: It's because of you that I was able to leave the past behind me. I'll always be grateful for what you've done, (Captain).
Sig: So, how about a glass of wine? Ah, I guess you're still too young. You'll just have to wait your turn, yeah?
Sig: How about you, Siero? Come on, don't be shy!
Sierokarte: Sounds good to me! I enjoy a glass every now and then!
Sig: All right, everyone! We're going to celebrate deep into the morning! That includes you, (Captain)!
The island is peaceful again, save for the joyous banquet. It seems to go on and on, lasting well into the following day.
A few days pass, and the preparations to leave are complete. The Druga Pirates come to say their goodbyes to the crew.
Katalina: It wasn't for very long, but thanks for taking care of us.
Scallywag 1: Nar, nar, nar! Yer the ones we should be thankin'! Ain't that right, boss?
Sig: That's right. You've helped me so much, it's embarrassing.
Sig: Thanks to you, I was able to protect the island, and fulfill my destiny. You have my gratitude.
Sig: If only you could stay with us and keep protecting the island together...
Walder: I'm sorry. A forest ranger is obligated to become justice!
Io: Seriously, what are you talking about? But we're sorry. We have to continue on our journey.
Sig: I understand. Your purpose and determination are the secrets to your strength.
Scallywag 2: We can't make ye stay but ye gotta come back someday!
Lyria: We will! I'll be back for more of that delicious seafood!
Walder: The next time we meet, I'll tell you more of my incredible legend!
Io: I won't be so picky next time!
Katalina: Mm-hmm. We'll definitely return to this beautiful island again.
Vyrn: All right! Set a course and let's be off! Our journey's not over yet!
Vowing to return one day, (Captain) and company set off into the sky.
As the Druga Pirates wave goodbye behind them, the crew looks out towards the vast blue expanse that stretches as far as the eye can see.
