The de facto leader of the earthdwellers who settled in Valtz. In the Earthen Realm, he held the title of marquess and governed a small yet strategically vital territory. Most of the earthdwellers currently residing in Valtz were once his subjects.
Ortoreg himself, however, believes that having lost his homeland, he no longer has the right to call himself a ruler. While he still feels responsible for his people's well-being, he insists there is no longer any hierarchy between them.
He is also an exceptional excavation engineer, having personally trained Luathea as his apprentice. In the Earthen Realm, where nations are often divided by walls of earth and vast cave systems, a lord-cum-excavation engineer is typically entrusted with defending border regions and must possess great martial prowess. Ortoreg was no exception—in his prime, he fought on the front lines with the claws and fangs of a lion.
