A State Alchemist known as "Fullmetal," he became the youngest person in history to earn his certification, a testament to his natural talent. He lost his left leg in a failed attempt at the forbidden act of human transmutation, and his right arm when transmuting his younger brother Alphonse's soul. He now journeys with his brother in pursuit of the legendary philosopher's stone, hoping to restore their original bodies. Fiery and impulsive, he also has a complex about his short stature, making words like "runt" or "shorty" strictly off-limits.
