Eye of the Storm - Opening

Albert is reliving tragic memories when suddenly his Skyblade signals that the time of reckoning with Yurius approaches. While Albert is gathering clues in the market, a young woman suddenly appears and warns him that Levin is about to fall.

Albert: (Where I'm from, thunder and lightning are like close friends.)
Albert: (We've always coexisted with dark storm clouds crackling with electricity.)
Albert: (That's what it means to live in Levin.)
Albert: (Then came that fateful day. I can still hear the rumbling of the thunder echoing off the walls of Saint Lethan Castle...)
Albert: Why... Tell me why!
???: Why did I kill the king? Or why did I have you break the lacrima's seal?
???: Heh heh... Bwahahaha!
???: Did you ever really know me at all?
Albert: ...!
???: We shall meet again, Thunderswift Lord. Until then take good care of the Skyblade!
Albert: Stop! Where are you going?
Albert: Yurius!
Albert: (That was when my journey began. Just me and this thunder sword... The one called Skyblade.)
Albert: Sigh, this storm is a bit much.
Albert: Hey, give it a rest, would you? I know you called up these clouds, so—
Albert: What?
Albert: The sword... it's charging up? But why?
???: We shall meet again, Thunderswift Lord. Until then take good care of the Skyblade!
Albert: Is this a sign that he's close?
In the course of their travels, (Captain) and company stop at an island to stretch their legs and peruse its antique market.
Lyria: Oh wow, look at this, Vyrn! Isn't it just the cutest?
Vyrn: What's so cute about it? All I see is a pot of moss.
Lyria: It's not moss! It's called a bonsai. See how it's been pruned to be perfectly round? That's what makes it so cute!
Vyrn: So that's what a bonsai looks like... Never thought you'd be into this kinda stuff, Lyria.
A hodgepodge of oddities lay out for sale in the market, from ancient tomes to tools of witchcraft.
Lyria: I love this place! There are so many things I've never seen before!
Vyrn: Come on, Lyria, don't forget why we're here.
Vyrn: We've gotta keep an eye out for a piece of the Sky Map. Ain't that right, (Captain)?
Lyria: S-sorry. I guess I got carried away.
Lyria: Ooh!
Vyrn: What's up? Find something interesting?
Lyria: No, look over there! It's Albert!
Vyrn: Hm? Oh yeah, it is. He said he had to go take care of something on his own, but I guess he ended up here too.
Lyria: I know! What if...
Lyria: What if Albert is crazy for antiques?
Vyrn: Hey, yeah! He totally looks like that kinda guy. I bet that's why he wanted to come alone.
Lyria: It does look like they're having a serious conversation. Maybe he's trying to haggle with the shopkeeper.
Vyrn: Okay, now I'm really curious. I gotta know what it is!
Lyria: Wait a minute, Vyrn!
Vyrn: All right, Albert, let's hear something interesting.
Lyria: We shouldn't be doing this...
Vyrn: Then why did you follow me?
Albert: That's right. It's a remnant of the Astrals passed down from generation to generation within the Levin royal family.
Antique Dealer: Levin? Isn't that the island with all them thunderstorms?
Antique Dealer: Sorry, pal, but I haven't heard anything like that. People keep their mouths shut when it comes to royal business.
The gravity of the conversation gives the crew pause, and they exchange glances with each other.
Lyria: Oops... I don't think that was meant for us...
Vyrn: Yeah... We just heard something heavy.
Albert: All right. Then one last thing.
Albert: Has anyone else been asking about it lately?
Antique Dealer: Hah, when you're an expert in the field like me, you tend to hear all kinds of stuff.
Antique Dealer: If you'd just give me a little more to work with, maybe then I could help you out...
Albert: Fine, but this stays between the two of us.
Albert: The man's name is Yurius. He betrayed Levin and fled.
Vyrn: Whoa... You think Albert's talking about that guy?
Lyria: You mean the person he's been searching for? The one who's possessed by a primal beast?
Albert: I was the leader of a group of knights back in my homeland.
Albert: But one of my men became consumed with the power of the Astral Void Lacrima. It... changed him.
Lyria: What's the Astral Void Lacrima?
Albert: It's a crystal. It contains a primal beast that feeds off a person's mind and will.
Albert: And now that he's been possessed by that power, I'm on a mission to track him down.
Antique Dealer: Yurius? You mean that Yurius?
Albert: I've been hunting him down for a while now. I'd really appreciate any information you might have—
Woman's Voice: Freeze!
Lyria and Vryn: ...!
A shrill voice from behind sends the startled crew tumbling from their hiding spot.
???: Sir Albert! I caught these suspicious looking people eavesdropping on your conversation!
Vyrn: Hey, we ain't suspicious!
Vyrn: Tell her, Albert!
Vyrn: Wait, did you just call him sir?
Albert: Mina! What are you doing here?
Mina: It's good to see you again, sir!
Vyrn: So I guess they know each other or something...
Vyrn: Ack!
Mina: Are you saying I'm just a mere acquaintance? Show some respect!
Mina: I'm the vice leader of the Sky Knights of Levin, entrusted with command in Albert's absence!
Mina: As such I'm a close advisor and right-hand—
Albert: Mina!
Mina: S-sir!
Mina: My apologies, sir! I was only speaking my mind!
Albert: Well, it has been a long time. But I seem to remember leaving you in charge of things back home. Why are you here?
Mina: It's...
Albert: And is it just me?
Albert: Or do you look much paler than usual...
Mina: It's awful, Albert!
Mina quickly drops to one knee, as if she no longer has the strength to stand.
Mina: You have to come back at once! Levin... Levin is on the brink of destruction!
Albert: What!
Vyrn: Are you serious?

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 1: Albert's Homecoming - Episode 1

Long ago, after the king of Levin was murdered, an object known as the Celestial Eye appeared above the castle. Three sisters belonging to the Sky Knights conduct a routine check of the eye, noting that it still lies dormant.

On the eastern edge of Phantagrande, close to the Grim Basin, lies a bleak island that the Kingdom of Levin calls home.
In this kingdom shrouded in perpetual storm clouds, two legends have survived since the War.
???: During the War, invaders from a distant sky tried to wipe out Levin using a powerful object.
???: But we were saved by a sword that fell from the heavens.
???: You're talking about the legends of the Skyblade and the Celestial Eye, right?
???: Yeah, yeah, I already know all that. What I'm asking you is why is it called the Celestial Eye?
The pair gaze up at an object, the so-called Celestial Eye, floating in suspended animation above Saint Lethan Castle.
???: Looks like the zap-index is at zero again. Nothing unusual to report today! Let's wrap up this patrol and head back!
???: You didn't answer me yet, Mona...
Mona looks back in annoyance and shoots a quick surge of magic at her partner.
???: Yow!
Mona: That thing still gives me the creeps! You saw what happened too, didn't you, Mena?
Mona: It was a year ago when it unleashed a beam of light, devastating the center of Levin.
Mona zaps Mena again as if trying to jog her memory of that terrible day.
Mena: Ow, ow, ow! Stop zapping your own sister!
Mona: It was as if the legend of the Celestial Eye was playing out all over again. That's why people started calling this thing the Celestial Eye too.
Mona: But what I really want to know is what the heck is it, and what is it doing here. Know what I mean?
Mena: Y-yezz...
Mona: Luckily ever since that unpleasantness happened...
Mona: You know, when Yurius killed the king, and the Celestial Eye appeared in the sky?
Mona: The eye hasn't moved at all. Everyone's keeping their distance from here just in case it decides to start back up again.
Mena: After all this time we still haven't picked a new king yet.
Mena: And that traitor Yurius is still out there somewhere.
Mena: Come on, Albert, find him already and bring him into custody!
Mena: Owww!
Mona: How many times have I told you? We're not allowed to talk about that!
Mona: We're the only ones who are supposed to know that Albert is chasing after Yurius!
Mona: Geez, if Mina caught us talking about it right now, we'd be in big—
Mina: Trouble?
Mona: Uh-oh... Busted...
Mina: You know the rule! Don't discuss matters that shouldn't be discussed!
Mena: Eeek! Have mercy on us, Mina!

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 1: Albert's Homecoming - Episode 2

Mina, vice leader of the Sky Knights, continues patrolling the area around the Celestial Eye with her two sisters. But the eye suddenly awakens after a long period of inactivity and unleashes lightning on the hapless sisters.

Before leaving Levin in search of Albert, Mina goes about her patrol duties along with Mena and Mona.
The three sisters stop to gaze at the Celestial Eye as it floats high in the sky.
Mina: Seriously, what am I going to do with you two?
Mena: C'mon, wasn't getting mad at me once good enough?
Mena: Say, Mina, why did Albert go after Yurius?
Mina: Well...
Mona: I know he and Yurius used to be close friends, but it feels like Albert abandoned us and Levin.
Mona: He really didn't say anything to you about what happened that day, Mina?
Mina: Um...
Mona: It's bad enough that Yurius tried to take the throne.
Mena: But how could Albert let him get away with it?
Mena: Yeah, and that twig of a guy Yurius went up against Albert!
Mena: And Yurius won? That doesn't make any sense!
Mena: You agree with me, right, Mina? Right?
Mina: You two are a disgrace!
Mona: Mina?
Mina: You both should know better than to believe baseless rumors!
Mina: Albert... has his reasons! I'm sure of it.
Mina: It's our duty as faithful knights of the order to believe in our leader and await his return!
Mina: Even if we aren't given the big picture! Even if we're left in the dark!
Mina: Our trust in his leadership mustn't sway!
Mona: So in other words... he didn't tell you anything at all. Oh, you poor thing...
Mena: Aww, cheer up, Mina, okay?
Mina: We mustn't sway!
At that moment roiling, jet-black thunderclouds begin to blanket the sky above Saint Lethan Castle.
Mona: What's wrong with the sky? Gasp! I know this feeling!
Mona: It feels just like it did that day!
Mena: G-girls! Look, look!
Mena points to the eye, which is emitting a sinister glow.
Arcs of light writhe and coil before converging on a single point as if marking a target.
Mina: I hope that's not what I think it is...
Mena: But you said the zap-index was at zero! It should've been zero!
Mena: You lied, Mona!
But Mena's protests are lost amid the thunderbolts raining down around them.
The three are forced to abandon their patrol and seek shelter.

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 1: Albert's Homecoming - Episode 3

Albert plans to head back to Levin after receiving Mina's report of the eye's sudden activity. The crew decides to lend a hand, and they all board the Grandcypher and head towards Albert's homeland.

Mina: And the Celestial Eye's been active ever since...
Mina: So far it only attacks things that get too close to it.
Mina: But it seems to be gathering energy from the nearby thunderclouds.
Mina: If we don't do something, there's a high chance that Levin will be reduced to ashes.
Mina: I was at my wit's end trying to think of a solution. I left in desperation, hoping to find an answer.
Mina: I never expected to run into Albert though.
Albert: ...
When Mina finishes speaking, a heavy silence falls over the room in the Grandcypher.
Vyrn: Yikes...
Lyria: Mina?
Mina: I'm sorry about before. I was under the impression that Albert was traveling alone.
Mina: It must come as a shock to hear this out of the blue. I can't say I'm surprised.
Mina: If there's anything else you'd like to know, please feel free to ask.
Lyria: Okay! Let's see...
Lyria: Just to be clear, Albert was a knight of Levin, right?
Mina: Huh?
Mina: You've been traveling all this time with the man they call Albert the Courageous, and yet you know nothing about him?
Vyrn: Me next, me next! Where's this Levin place you guys are talkin' about?
Mina: I beg your pardon?
Mina: No! No, no, no!
Vyrn: Huh?
Mina: Now you listen to me!
Lyria: Y-yes?
Mina: I admit Levin has lost its luster in recent years.
Mina: But my home isn't some backwater village that no one's ever heard of before!
Albert: That's enough, Mina.
Mina: But Albert...
Albert: In any case I need to see the Celestial Eye for myself.
Albert: (Captain), I'm afraid I must return to Levin.
Albert: This is where we part ways. Thank you for everything. It's been a fun ride.
Lyria: Oh, Albert...
Vyrn: Hey, you sure about this?
Vyrn: You're gonna need Lyria's power to track down that ex-knight of yours who got possessed, you know.
  1. That's why we're going together.
  2. Yeah, don't be so cold.

Choose: That's why we're going together.
Lyria: That's right! Since we haven't found him yet, we'll stick with you until you do!

Choose: Yeah, don't be so cold.
Vyrn: Right? We're all on the same team here! You've got our support!
Continue 1
Albert: When you put it that way...
Albert: You're right. I could really use your help.
Albert: Sorry. And thanks, (Captain).
Albert gives (Captain) a nod of gratitude.
Lyria: Aaah!
The airship shudders, sending Lyria careening toward the floor, but (Captain) catches her just in time.
Mina: What was that?
Vyrn: Uh-oh! We've got monsters onboard!
Albert: We'll have to finish talking later! Come on, (Captain), let's take care of this!

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 1: Albert's Homecoming - Episode 4

Albert explains about the Astral Void Lacrima, which once caused tragic events to unfold. The crew is surprised to learn that it was Albert who broke the seal on the lacrima, allowing the imprisoned primal beast to escape and possess Yurius.

Once the monsters have been dispatched, the Grandcypher heads for Levin.
As they fly toward their new destination, their conversation resumes.
Lyria: I'm sorry, Albert. We overheard you talking at the antique market.
Albert: I see. No, I believe I'm the one who should be apologizing for keeping you all in the dark.
Albert: My silence got you caught up in this mess.
Lyria: Can I ask you about the person you're looking for? The one possessed by the Astral Void Lacrima?
Lyria: Is it Yurius?
Albert: Yes, it is.
Vyrn: And he even killed your king. Why would he do something like that?
Albert: I guess I should tell you what I know.
Albert: Look over there. You can just make out the Celestial Eye in the distance.
Lyria: I can feel the powerful aura of a primal beast!
Albert: The Celestial Eye is what happens when a primal beast is released from the Astral Void Lacrima.
Lyria: Um... are you saying the Celestial Eye and the Astral Void Lacrima are the same?
Albert: Perhaps it'd be easier if I start from the beginning.
Albert: When the Celestial Eye has a primal beast sealed inside it, it changes shape. We call that shape the Astral Void Lacrima.
Albert: Coincidentally we have a legend that sounds similar. At the end of the War, an eye appeared in the sky and shed a single tear, a lacrima. That's how it goes.
Vyrn: That legend doesn't jump up and say primal beast to me...
Albert: Yes, which is why Yurius himself assumed the lacrima was a piece of the Sky Map.
Albert: Now getting back to what happened with Yurius, I had just destroyed the Astral Void Lacrima.
Albert: The primal beast sealed within it was freed and chose Yurius to be its vessel.
Lyria: Wait a minute, Albert! You destroyed the lacrima? Why would you do that?
Albert: Because I—
Albert stops short when he sees his homeland spread before him. It should have been a sentimental homecoming.
Instead his heart is as dark and clouded as the skies over Levin.

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 2: Thunderswift Memories - Episode 1

Before the tragedy of that day, Yurius keeps asking the king for permission to study the Skyblade and Astral Void Lacrima. Yurius is constantly rebuffed and slighted by the king, which leads Albert to visit Yurius out of concern.

Albert begins telling his story as the Grandcypher draws closer to Levin.
(Captain) and company listen in rapt silence.
Albert: I remember there was this sense of foreboding even before that fateful incident ever occurred.
Albert: I had just returned to Levin after leading a long expedition. The king was waiting for my report.
Albert: Pardon my intrusion, Your Majesty, but I have return—
King of Levin: What did you just say?
Yurius: I'm sorry. Please allow me to repeat myself.
Yurius: I ask that you entrust the Skyblade and the Astral Void Lacrima to me.
Yurius: I realize they're national treasures, but they're also artifacts of the Astrals.
Yurius: Levin has few natural resources. We can't allow ourselves to be left behind by other kingdoms.
Yurius: Understanding and developing the Astrals' technology should take precedence over strengthening our military.
King of Levin: Silence! Your insolence knows no bounds!
King of Levin: How dare you spew such nonsense! We are a kingdom protected by lightning!
King of Levin: Our knights are our foundation! The symbol of Levin's glory!
King of Levin: Stop pestering me with the same tired requests! Be gone!
Yurius: Your Majesty.
Albert: ...
King of Levin: Oh, Thunderswift Lord! You've returned!
King of Levin: And what of the exploits of our brave knights? Come, you must tell me at once!
Albert: As you wish.
Albert: It didn't surprise me that those two were arguing. That was just how they were.
Albert: At the time I simply dismissed it as just another one of those days.
Albert: Yurius was a noble, and so he was pressed into the knights' order.
Albert: But his specialty was the pen, not the sword. He was a researcher.
Vyrn: He was a knight and a researcher?
Albert: Yes. He even turned part of our guardhouse into a research lab.
Albert: His first study was to look into tactical efficiency.
Albert: He was a strange guy, a bit different from the other knights.
Albert: But that was just his way of working tirelessly for the sake of Levin.
Albert: At least that's what I'd thought at the time.
Lyria: Albert...
Albert: Yurius kept begging the king for permission to study the Skyblade and Astral Void Lacrima.
Albert: I got nervous every time they butted heads.
Albert: Then one day the king surprised me after I'd made my latest report.
King of Levin: Albert! After all your accomplishments, I've decided to rename the knights of Levin.
King of Levin: Thanks to you, they shall henceforth be known as the Sky Knights!
Albert: I... Perhaps you should rethink this, Your Majesty...
Albert: I bet he's just doing this to spite Yurius.
King of Levin: Nonsense! Ready the celebrations! Am I making myself clear, Yurius?
Yurius: Yes...
Albert: Yurius...
Albert: He was as calm as always.
Albert: But something was off. After I came back from the expedition, he looked... a little drained.
Albert: I was worried about him.
Albert: But I wasn't able to stop by his lab until after the celebrations...

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 2: Thunderswift Memories - Episode 2

Albert grows suspicious of Yurius's odd behavior but ultimately dismisses his misgivings. Soon an excited Yurius is given an audience with the king; before long the king would be dead by Yurius's hand.

Albert heads to Yurius's lab after the ceremony for the renaming of the knights concludes.
Yurius: That's not... Never!
Albert: Hey! What's going on in there!
Hearing sounds of heated argument, Albert forces his way into the room.
Yurius: What's wrong?
Albert: Huh? I could've sworn I heard you talking to someone just now...
Yurius: How curious. Well, do you see anyone else in here?
Albert: No, but I know I'm not crazy...
Yurius: Sadly I've been the only one here today.
Yurius: That is until the shining star of Levin, the Thunderswift Lord himself, came waltzing through my door.
Albert: Don't call me that.
Yurius: What was it again?
For justice and glory, the Sky Knights are born today!
Yurius: Something like that. Just another impressive achievement to add to your long illustrious career.
Albert: Get off my back already!
Albert: I don't care about stuff like that.
Albert: But I'm the leader. It's part of the job.
Albert looks exasperated by Yurius's ridicule.
Albert: (Was it just my imagination?)
Albert: (I thought he was upset, but he seems like the same old reliable Yurius.)
Albert is relieved to see his good friend in high spirits.
But the seeds of tragedy have already been sown.
A tragedy Albert would discover in the worst way imaginable.
Albert: Hm? Did the king send for you?
Yurius: Yes. He wishes to discuss the Astral artifacts in private.
There's a hint of delight in Yurius's voice.
Yurius: Maybe he's finally come to his senses about the benefits of my research.
Albert: Hmm... But why now? He wouldn't even listen to you before today.
Yurius: I don't know, but I'm not going to let this chance slip by.
Yurius: Absolutely not.
Yurius: This time the Skyblade and Astral Void Lacrima will definitely be waiting for me in my lab.
Albert: Knowing you, anything's possible.
Although Albert is surprised by the king's apparent change of heart, he wishes Yurius luck.
His happiness for his friend's fortune overshadows the feelings of doubt in his heart.
Albert: Soon the king would be slain, and Yurius would be gone...

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 2: Thunderswift Memories - Episode 3

Albert witnesses Yurius being possessed by the primal beast sealed within the lacrima moments before Yurius kills the king. Mina demands to know why Yurius committed regicide but is interrupted by a monster ambush.

Albert: It was Yurius—former Sky Knight, born of a dukedom, and a royal advisor—who assassinated the king.
Albert: Then he took the Astral Void Lacrima and disappeared.
Albert: That's how the coup played out that day.
Albert: At the same time the Celestial Eye appeared in the sky above Levin.
Albert: It struck Saint Lethan Castle with a powerful lightning bolt, but it hasn't been active since.
Albert: Even though I saw it all unfold with my own eyes, I don't have any proof that those two things are linked.
Lyria: But there has to a be connection, right?
Lyria: If the Celestial Eye is the released form of the Astral Void Lacrima when the seal is broken...
Albert: Yes...
Albert: Then it was the primal beast inside the lacrima that had the power to leech energy, not the Celestial Eye.
Albert: Yurius became its host that day. It twisted him, changed him, and the king paid the ultimate price.
Lyria: ...
Vyrn: Okay, but how did Yurius—
Mina: How did he come to be in a position to be possessed in the first place?
Vyrn: Whoa! When did you get here, Mina?
Mina barges past (Captain) and approaches Albert.
Mina: Why did it turn out this way?
Mina: What did Yurius want with the primal beast?
Mina: You were there when Yurius attacked the king, weren't you, Albert?
Mina: Don't keep me in the dark anymore! What exactly happened that day?
Just as Mina presses Albert for answers, the Celestial Eye unleashes its lightning.
Vyrn: Aaagh! What's going on?
Vyrn: Argh!
Albert: The eye is targeting the ship!
Albert: We're sitting ducks up here! Take the ship down!
Monster: Groar!
Mina: Monsters at a time like this? No, the eye must have summoned them here somehow!
Monster: Grooaar!
Lyria: Look out, (Captain)!

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 2: Thunderswift Memories - Episode 4

The Grandcypher is forced to make an emergency landing after sustaining damage from the Celestial Eye and plummets through a hole in Saint Lethan Castle. The crew looks for signs of Albert and Mina who are missing but finds someone else instead.

After clearing the monsters off the ship, (Captain) and the crew struggle to land the Grandcypher.
The Celestial Eye doesn't relent, attacking the ship with a barrage of electricity.
Vyrn: We're gonna crash if this keeps up!
But the damage has already been done. With the controls no longer responding, the airship spirals down rapidly.
It plunges into the fissure opened by the Celestial Eye's lightning strike on Saint Lethan Castle on the day of Yurius's betrayal.
Lyria: Ouch...
Vyrn: Are you okay, Lyria?
Lyria: I think so. Looks like you're okay too, Vyrn. Where are we?
Lyria and (Captain) survey their surroundings and conclude that they must be in some part of the castle.
Albert and Mina appear to have been thrown from the ship for they're nowhere to be seen.
Lyria: Hello? Is anybody there?
Vyrn: Mina said no one's been here since the Celestial Eye showed up.
Lyria: Oh yeah... Then we have to find Albert and Mina.
Vyrn: Hey, you hear that?
Lyria: Sounds like footsteps... Maybe it's them!
Lyria: Albert! Mina! We're over here!
(Captain) and the others follow the sounds of the footsteps.
Lyria: Huh?
They find the source of the footsteps, but they don't belong to Albert nor Mina...

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 3: Another Yurius - Episode 1

Albert and Mina have been separated from (Captain) and the others during the emergency landing. As they search for the crew, Albert tells Mina everything that happened that day.

The party becomes separated after the Celestial Eye's attacks force the Grandcypher to the ground.
Albert and Mina rush through Saint Lethan Castle in search of (Captain) and the others.
Albert: I can't believe this was once the royal castle... What a cruel joke.
Albert: What's wrong, Mina? Why are you lagging behind?
Mina collapses onto her hands and knees.
Mina: Forgive me, Albert!
Albert: Come on, stop that. The crash wasn't your fault—
Mina: That's not what I meant!
Mina: I had no intention of asking you about the events of that day until you were ready to tell me yourself.
Mina: But I couldn't stand it any longer and acted selfishly!
Albert: That's what you've been worried about?
Albert: Enough. Get up.
Mina: But...
Albert: You asked me what happened to Yurius and the primal beast that day.
Mina: Um, that's right...
Albert: When I realized something was wrong, I ran into the room. The king was still unharmed.
Mina: Oh, Albert! I can't bear to listen to—
Albert: Sigh. Do you want to know the story or not?
Mina: I'm listening!
Albert: When I entered the throne room, the king was still alive.
Albert: But Yurius had already been altered by the power within the Astral Void Lacrima.
Yurius: Ugh... Guh... Yaaargh!
Albert: What have you done to yourself?
Albert: Your Majesty! What's going on?
King of Levin: See for yourself! With the raw, surging power of the Astral Void Lacrima...
King of Levin: He's been plotting behind the scenes to kill me!
Albert: No, Yurius would never—
King of Levin: What are you waiting for? He's a threat to the kingdom! Dispose of him at once!
King of Levin: Just look at the form he's taken! What more proof do you need?
Albert: ...!
Albert instinctively draws his sword, never once taking his bewildered eyes off Yurius.
Yurius: Heh heh heh... Hahaha...
Yurius: Bwahahaha!
Yurius: You suspected something, didn't you, Albert?
Yurius: Yes, I've been hearing voices for some time now. They came out of nowhere... soft like whispers... incessantly droning...
Yurius: They just. Wouldn't. Stop.
Yurius: Eliminate the king!
Eliminate Albert!
Yurius: Oh, how I loathed that voice! That's how I felt at first.
Yurius: I was certain someone was trying to lead me astray with these disgusting lies coursing through my brain.
Yurius: And then it dawned on me. I had been wrong all along.
Yurius: That voice—That sweet, little voice? It was mine! My true feelings calling out to me from my deepest core!
Albert: Are you mad, Yurius? Listen to yourself!
Yurius: But I am listening to myself. Didn't I just explain everything, my dear friend? Or should I say, Thunderswift Lord?
Yurius: Take the Skyblade.
Albert: What are you up to?
Yurius: Take up the treasure of Levin that was forged by the hands of the Astrals.
Yurius: And strike me down with it.
Albert: What!
Yurius: But before you do, you must use it to smash the Astral Void Lacrima.
Yurius: The voice that pierced my head and awakened my deepest feelings has a source.
Yurius: It came from the primal beast sealed within the lacrima.
Yurius: These two treasures imbued with the power of the Astrals, the sword and the lacrima, can only be canceled out by each other.
Yurius: This tragedy must never happen again. Destroy the lacrima... and me with it.
Yurius: Quickly!
Albert: Don't be ridiculous! You can't expect me to believe all that!
Albert: And you're asking me to kill you?
Albert: Damn it all!
Albert picks up the Skyblade, trembling with torment.
Yurius yells at Albert, but this time with a more urgent tone, two voices overlapping each other.
Yurius: Stop!
Albert: Yurius?
Yurius: Don't trust the primal beast's words! Don't break the lacrima!
Yurius: The Skyblade will destroy the seal on it!
Yurius: Once the seal is broken the primal beast and its power will be unchained!
Yurius: You mustn't use the sword! If you're truly my friend, you would trust me!
Albert: I... don't know...

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 3: Another Yurius - Episode 2

Two sides of Yurius exist: one begs Albert to destroy the lacrima using the Skyblade, while the other begs him not to. A conflicted Albert decides to destroy the lacrima, leading to Yurius's mutation, the death of the king, and the acquisition of the Skyblade.

The mutated Yurius speaks with two voices.
Albert is faced with a difficult decision.
After a brief moment that feels like an eternity, Albert makes his choice.
Albert: Rragh!
Albert pulls the Skyblade from the Astral Void Lacrima, breaking it.
King of Levin: Splendid, Albert! You've done it!
King of Levin: Hahaha!
Albert: Yurius... You've served this land more than anyone else can ever say they did.
Albert: Sacrificing yourself to destroy the primal beast is just the sort of action I'd expect from you!
Yurius: ...
King of Levin: Wahaha!
King of Levin: Urgh!
Albert: Your Majesty!
Albert calls out to the king, who slumps to the ground from a fatal wound.
Yurius: Heh heh... Heh heh heh...
Yurius: Ahahaha!
Albert: No! What have you done, Yurius!
Yurius: Aaah! This... rush! It feels like I've been reborn!
An ominous pillar of light bursts forth from the shattered pieces of the Astral Void Lacrima, blasting through the castle ceiling.
Against the backdrop of the jet-black sky, the Celestial Eye can be seen through the hole.
Albert: Why... Tell me why!
Yurius: Why did I kill the king?
Yurius: Or would you like to know why I had you break the seal on the lacrima?
Yurius: What were you saying before about me? That Yurius would willingly sacrifice himself to destroy the primal beast?
Yurius: Ahahahaha!
Yurius: Did you ever really know me at all?
Albert: Curse you, Yurius!
Albert: Was this your plan from the start?
Albert: Tricking me into breaking the seal on the lacrima, the king's assassination...
Albert: It was all just to get your hands on the power of the primal beast!
Albert: You warned me not to use the sword if I was truly your friend. Was that just a lie?
Albert: Answer me!
Yurius: Of course not. My darkest wishes for power were the truth. So too was my warning to you as a friend.
Yurius: But you made your choice.
Yurius: I suppose I should thank you for revealing which side of me my best friend actually believes in.
Albert: Yurius!
Albert: You won't get away with this! I'll hunt you to the ends of the skies!
The Skyblade in Albert's hand begins to emit a radiant glow.
Yurius: Well, well. It seems the Skyblade has chosen its new master.
Yurius: I don't relish the thought of leaving such a powerful weapon with you.
Yurius: But I can't say my own powers are at their fullest potential just yet.
The Celestial Eye pulsates with light as if agreeing with Yurius.
Yurius's body is bathed in the eye's light, and it begins to ascend into the sky.
Albert: Yurius! Stop! Where are you going?
Yurius: We shall meet again, Thunderswift Lord.
Yurius: Until then take good care of the Skyblade!
In reply to Albert's piercing gaze, Yurius's lips twist into a chilling smile as he fades into the dark.
Albert: Yurius!

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 3: Another Yurius - Episode 3

Albert ends his explanation of what happened by stating his intention to finish off Yurius. The crew eventually meets up with Albert and Mina, and they have a surprise guest with them.

Albert finishes his story about the incident with Yurius and sighs.
Albert: You already know the rest.
Mina: So that's why you left Levin with the Skyblade...
Mina: A sword that saves a kingdom from crisis. It's like the legend is repeating itself.
Albert: There was no point in staying in Levin with the sword.
Albert: As I journeyed on I discovered something strange about this sword. It becomes electrified whenever it senses lies.
Albert: I think it responds to my resolve, strangely enough.
Mina: Your resolve?
Albert: I didn't leave my post to simply capture Yurius and bring him back.
Albert: I'm going to strike him down before he reaches full strength!
Mina: Albert...
Albert: I'm sorry I've kept this from you for so long.
Albert: I was hoping to finish this without any of you ever knowing.
Albert: You were all on good terms with Yurius after all.
Mina: Oh, Albert...
Mina: I had no idea what you were going through. I was completely out of line!
Albert: It's fine. Now let's move!
Albert: When the time is right, Yurius will definitely come back to Levin.
Albert: And that time is probably now since the Celestial Eye has started moving again.
Mina: Do you think he's already here?
Albert: Yes. The Skyblade seems to think so too.
Albert: He's been seduced by the Astral's power, and he's wrapped in dark ambitions.
Albert: He's already done away with the king. Now he wishes to destroy Levin and me with it.
Lyria: No, that's not it!
Mina: You! How much did you hear?
Vyrn: Sorry, pretty much everything. We followed your voices to find you.
Lyria: The sound really echoes well in this place.
Mina: Ugh...
Vyrn: Anyway, we need to talk about Yurius!
Lyria: Yes! Albert, the thing is...
Lyria: The Yurius you were talking about isn't the real Yurius.
Lyria: I mean, he's the real Yurius, but he's also not the real Yurius... Um...
Lyria: Well, I guess you could say he's not the Yurius you knew!
Mina: What are you trying to say?
Lyria: We met him!
Mina: Huh?
Albert: Don't be ridiculous! He's not even human anymore!
Albert: He's a beast that's been consumed by evil! You wouldn't be standing here right now if you'd actually met him!
???: Oof, having fun bad-mouthing me? Am I really that awful?
Albert: It can't be...

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 3: Another Yurius - Episode 4

The ghost-like figure of a Yurius that broke off when the real Yurius was possessed stands before a confused Albert. The party promises to defeat the primal beast and make Yurius whole again.

Yurius: ...
Albert: Yurius?
Mina: What's happened to you?
The pale form of Yurius appears next to the crew.
Yurius: Long time no see, you two.
Yurius: I think it should be clear to you now.
Yurius: I'm not the Yurius you once knew.
Mina: What do you mean?
Yurius: I'm only a small part of Yurius that broke off when he was possessed by the primal beast.
Yurius: Think of me as a strand of hair or a broken nail.
Albert: Hold on.
Albert: You're a small part of Yurius?
Mina: If you're just a remnant of Yurius, how can you look like that?
Mina: A hair or a nail or whatever shouldn't be able to move on its own!
Yurius: It's because of the Celestial Eye.
Yurius: I'll try to explain from the beginning. The Celestial Eye was originally the Astral Void Lacrima.
Yurius: It was used to imprison a vicious primal beast that feeds on a person's mind. You know this already.
Albert: Yes. But it looks like it can do more than just that.
Yurius: The eye itself has no will of its own. It simply obeys the will of its user with extreme efficiency.
Yurius: Kind of like the Skyblade. Both are from the time of the War.
Yurius: They were probably created with the same purpose in mind. But I digress.
Yurius: The thing sealed inside the lacrima latched onto Yurius and gave form to the true feelings he had kept buried deep down.
Yurius: At the same time, the incompatible parts were chased out.
Yurius: The other Yurius became the eye's master, and as a result, the Yurius you're looking at right now was squeezed out, if you will.
Vyrn: So are you the good parts of Yurius?
Yurius: Why don't I let Albert answer that one?
Albert grinds his teeth at Yurius's offhand tone.
Albert: I can't tell if he's good or evil, but one thing's for sure.
Albert: He's the Yurius I know!
Lyria: So right now Yurius is split apart because of the Celestial Eye and the primal beast.
Lyria: If we can free Yurius from the primal beast, maybe we can combine the two into one again.
Lyria: I just don't know how we're going to do that.
Lyria: I guess I could absorb Yurius, the eye, and the primal beast all at once...
Vyrn: Good idea, Lyria!
Vyrn: No, wait! Are you sure you wanna do that?
Yurius: Hm, interesting idea.
Albert: You want to be a test subject?
Albert: Humph, even at a time like this you're still thinking about research.
Yurius smiles quietly at the stunned Albert.
Mina: At the very least we need to defeat both the eye and the primal beast to get Yurius back.
Vyrn: Yeah! Too bad we don't know where the primal beast is though.
Albert: No, but the Celestial Eye is in plain sight.
Albert: Leaving Yurius aside for the moment, we can't let the eye continue generating thunder and lightning.
Lyria: That's right! First we need to defeat the Celestial Eye!
The party heads back to their grounded airship.
After undergoing a few emergency repairs, the Grandcypher rockets into the clouds to face the menace in the sky.

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 4: The Eye Closes - Episode 1

After the crew defeats the Celestial Eye, Yurius is ready to be absorbed by Lyria, but Albert still has many questions. Instead of offering answers, Yurius simply reminds Albert that not everything can be solved alone.

The battle rages overhead until the crew finally gains the upper hand.
Now they must complete one more task before Yurius can be restored to his original form.
Mina: All that's left is to hunt down the primal beast that's possessing Yurius!
Yurius: When the leader and vice leader of the Sky Knights come together, nothing can stand in our way.
Yurius: And let's not forget our ever-dependable ally, (Captain).
Albert: Be nice.
Yurius: Ah, you haven't changed at all. Of course not, for you're the paragon of the Sky Knights. Here he is, ladies and gentlemen, the Thunderswift Lord!
Albert: I've told you not to call me that...
Albert: ...
Despite having so many things he wants to say to Yurius, Albert finds himself tongue-tied.
Yurius: Well, I think it's time for your friend to absorb me.
Lyria: I'm ready when you are!
Yurius: Very well. After you.
Lyria: Okay, here goes...
Albert: Wait, Yurius! I still have things I want to ask you!
Yurius: Listen well, Thunderswift Lord.
Yurius: Talking to the Yurius before you isn't going to fix things.
Albert: ...!
Yurius: Yes, I am the Yurius you know so well. Even so, I'm still just a small part of him.
Yurius: But rest assured, the other Yurius is still Yurius too.
Albert: ...
Yurius: Do you remember what I always used to say to you?
Yurius: You can't solve everything by yourself.
Yurius: We all have our own ghosts, things we regret. We want to set things right and make a fresh start.
Albert: Yurius...
Yurius: I have to go. Make sure you settle things with my other self.
Albert: Yeah. You can count on it.

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 4: The Eye Closes - Episode 2

The party heads into the castle, where Lyria detects signs of Yurius coming from beneath them. Yurius awaits them in the throne room, the same room where everything began and everything will end.

With the Celestial Eye dealt with, (Captain) and company return to the castle.
Vyrn: Are you sure Yurius is even in here, Lyria?
Lyria: Yes. I didn't notice it before because it was being masked by the Celestial Eye.
Lyria: But now I can feel a powerful aura coming from below...
Lyria: It kind of feels like the Yurius we just met.
Lyria: But this one's much scarier...
Mina: From below? Albert, that's...
Albert: Yeah.
Vyrn: What's under here?
Mina: The throne room.
Vyrn: Isn't that where Yurius killed the king?
Albert: Exactly.
Albert: A fitting place to put an end to all of this.
Mina: ...
Albert: We have to keep moving. Be careful. This place is crawling with monsters.

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 4: The Eye Closes - Episode 3

Lyria feels uneasy amid the portraits of Levin's previous monarchs that line the dark castle hall. She stops to look at a portrait that catches not only her eyes but the eyes of two others who have been following her.

Although the Celestial Eye has been defeated, the fearsome storm rages on.
As (Captain) and the crew make their way to the throne room, the air grows gloomier with each booming clap of thunder.
Lyria: Um, Mina?
Mina: Yes?
Lyria: Maybe I'm just imagining things, but do you hear any footsteps behind us?
Mina: It must be your imagination. The castle's been deserted for a long time.
Lyria: Oh... I hope you're right...
Albert: You get scared easily, don't you, Lyria? Can't say I blame you though. The castle's pretty spooky right now.
Vyrn: Yeah, check out all these creepy paintings...
Mina: Excuse me? These are the portraits of the former monarchs of Levin!
Vyrn: Well, they're still creepy! It's like they're trying to scare us or something.
Mina: No they're not!
Lyria: Hey, look at the person in this one.
Mona: Hm? Which person?
Lyria: Him. Doesn't he look a bit like Yurius?
Mena: Huh? How do you know about that backstabber?
Lyria: Huh?
Mena: Hm?
Mona: Eh?
All Three: Waaah!
Lyria: Are you... g-ghosts?

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 4: The Eye Closes - Episode 4

Mina reunites with her two sisters, Mona and Mena, and the mood brightens considerably. With everyone in high spirits, they continue onward to face Yurius.

Lyria: Oh, you're Mina's sisters! You nearly gave me a heart attack!
Mona: Yep, we're her sisters, all right. Hehe, you gave us a fright too!
Mena: We thought we'd better keep quiet as we snuck closer. Then we saw that Mina was with you!
Albert: Hey, you two. It's been a while.
Mona: Albert! You're back!
Mena: Hah, I didn't even notice! Welcome back!
Mona: Thank goodness you're okay!
Albert: Thanks. Sorry for making you worry.
Mena: Isn't this great, Mina? That's one less thing for us to worry about!
Albert: Are you talking about the Celestial Eye?
Mona: Um, yeah, there's that...
Mena: But actually I'm talking about Mina's recent behavior. She's been getting angry at every little thing we do.
Mona: Yeah, yeah! She's always got these bags under her eyes too. We've been really worried about her.
Mona: I've been zapping you more often to give you a pick-me-up. Haven't you noticed?
Mina: You have?
Mena: Anyway, this is great! Now we can finally get this all fixed!
Mona: Seriously! Mina goes out of control when you're not around, and she can't be stopped, Albert.
Albert: Out of control?
Mina: Hey!
Mina: That's enough, you two!
Lyria: Hehe. You all get along so well with each other. Mina looks especially happy!
Vyrn: You got that right! She's been tearing her hair out ever since we first met!
Albert: ...
Albert: You can't solve everything by yourself, huh... I guess you were right.
Albert realizes how much his departure from Levin effected those around him.
Mina: This isn't the time nor the place for idle chatter!
Mona: Whoa, her voice is bouncing off the walls...
Mena: Haha... That's our Mina for you...
Albert: Mina's right. We can't spare any time in confronting Yurius.
Mona: Roger that! We're right behind you!
Mena: You can count on us to beat up any pesky monsters that come our way!
They set off down the monster-infested halls that lead to the throne room.

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 4: The Eye Closes - Episode 4: Scene 2

The crew aims for the throne room located in the lower levels of the castle, but the stairs are in a state of disrepair. Albert and the others descend carefully, undeterred.

Mina: I should've known the stairs leading down would've collapsed...
Vyrn: I'm okay—I can fly down the stairs. You guys, watch your step though, okay?
Lyria: Thanks!
(Captain) helps Lyria climb down the ruined staircase.
Albert: We're coming, Yurius!
Albert squints through the darkness toward the doors of the throne room.
Soon he will face the man he once called a friend.

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 5: Mena's Brilliant Idea - Episode 1

Yurius is just behind the throne doors, but swarms of monsters stand guard against the determined party. They waste no time in charging straight into the maw.

Mona and Mena have joined up with (Captain) and the others after noticing the disappearance of the Celestial Eye.
They all head for a large room where Lyria thinks the sinister presence is coming from.
Albert: Once we pass through those huge doors, we'll be inside the throne room.
Vyrn: Tch, except all those monsters are blocking our way!
Lyria: I think whatever's inside summoned them or maybe even created them.
Albert: If it's powerful enough to spawn monsters, then we'd better be prepared before we face it.
Mina: Those monsters seem to be guarding the doors as if they were knights guarding the throne.
Mena: Is it trying to be ironic? I don't like it.
Albert: Well, we're not getting in unless we clear them out.
Albert: There's no room here for subtlety! (Captain), break through the front!

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 5: Mena's Brilliant Idea - Episode 2

Lyria senses a sadness coming from Yurius and tries to find out why. Before she can discover the answer, monsters attack, but (Captain) shields her from harm.

Monsters go flying left and right, and the party bursts through the door into the throne room.
Sitting upon the throne deep within the room is none other than the mutated Yurius.
Albert: Yurius!
Yurius: ...
Lyria: Ngh...
Vyrn: Lyria? Are you okay? Where does it hurt?
Lyria: No... I'm not in pain... I can feel sadness... coming from Yurius.
Vyrn: But I thought he was the bad one. You're saying he has feelings?
Lyria: Yes. Both this Yurius and the one I absorbed are feeling the same sadness.
Albert: I hesitate to call that thing Yurius.
Lyria: I know he's been completely twisted by the primal beast's control.
Lyria: But it's possible his mind hasn't completely disappeared.
Lyria: So I'm sure this is how Yurius felt before he was possessed.
Albert: Do you know what he's sad about?
Lyria: Hmm...
Lyria focuses hard, trying to delve deeper into Yurius's thoughts.
Monster: Groaar!
Vyrn: Watch out, Lyria!
A monster ambushes Lyria as if by Yurius's command.
Lyria: Aaah!
(Captain) leaps forward, saving Lyria from the attack.
Lyria: Thank you, (Captain)!
More monsters swarm in and quickly close the gap.
Albert: Get out of our way!

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 5: Mena's Brilliant Idea - Episode 3

The battle grows increasingly hectic as Yurius unleashes tentacles from his body in addition to the already numerous monsters. Yurius intends to consume everyone, but Albert is resolved not to allow that to happen.

Albert shouts at Yurius in between waves of monsters.
Albert: Yurius!
Yurius: Welcome, Thunderswift Lord, my dearest friend.
Albert: What do you hope to achieve? You've already dispatched with the king. Is it me you're after?
Yurius: Hahaha, I was wondering what you would ask me. But first allow me to show you the results of my research.
Countless tentacles extend from Yurius's body and wrap around the monsters, crushing them.
Mona: Ugh!
Yurius: The primal beast that leeches off my body grows stronger with each life force it absorbs.
Yurius: I've regretted it ever since, you know. What I did that day can never be undone.
Albert: ...
Yurius: Now one way or another, I'm going to get you!
Tentacles shoot out at Albert before Yurius even finishes talking.
Monsters: Groooar!
Albert: Ngh! (There are too many of them! I can only keep them at bay!)
Yurius: Fortune truly smiles upon me! You're all such magnificent specimens...
Yurius: I see the Thunderswift Lord, the sister trio, the one called (Captain)...
Yurius: And last but not the least the girl that can absorb the power of the primals!
Yurius: Once I consume you, Lyria, my powers will no doubt evolve once more!
More and more tentacles spring forth, targeting not just Albert but the entire party. (Captain) remains in front of Lyria.
Lyria: (Captain), be careful! I can feel his power getting stronger and stronger!
Albert: (Captain)! Lyria! Behind you!
Yurius: I can see this isn't going to be easy.
Albert: I won't let you take away anything else!
Albert: I'll make you give that body back!

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 5: Mena's Brilliant Idea - Episode 4

No matter how many tentacles are cut off, there's no end in sight. Mona and Mena eventually come up with an idea. Lyria is to absorb the primal beast from Yurius in order to stop the tentacles while the rest of the party keeps her safe.

Mina: Haah!
Mena: Raaah!
Albert: Ugh... All we can do is cut, cut, cut!
Vyrn: They keep growing back as soon as we cut them off! We ain't making a dent!
Mena: And what's with all these monsters?
Mona: Sooner or later we're going to get worn out! Then what do we do?
Mina: Stop whining and fight!
Mena: We've got to think of something...
Mena: Of course! Lyria!
Lyria: Huh? M-me?
Mena: Yurius mentioned you have some kinda power, right? Like, a power to suck up primals or something?
Lyria: Oh, yes! I can do it if the primal lets me, or if it's weak enough.
Mena: I think these tentacles might be some form of the primal beast's power!
Mena: So can't you just eat them?
Lyria: Huh?
Mona: Oh, I get it! You could gobble them all up!
Vyrn: Now wait just a minute! I think we've got a big ol' misunderstanding going on here!
Lyria: Um, it's not really the same as eating food...
Lyria: Oh dear. How do I explain this?
Mena: Never mind the details! You can do it, right?
Lyria: Yes... Yes, I can! I can't get all the tentacles at once, but I can aim for the source!
Lyria: I don't know if it'll work right away, but I'll see if I can absorb the primal beast inside Yurius!
Albert: We're counting on you, Lyria! Mina, do your thing!
Mina: Yes, sir!
Mina: Our combination attack is the best way to tackle large groups of enemies!
Mena: Okay, we'll fry 'em up real good for you, Lyria!
Lyria: Um, that doesn't matter since I'm not going to eat them!
Lyria: Please do your best Albert and Mina!
Albert: Got it. Keep the monsters and tentacles away from Lyria at all costs!
Albert: Mina!
Mina: Yes, sir! Here I come!
With lightning-quick slashes, Mina wounds tentacle after tentacle.
Though the shallow cuts aren't enough to sever the tentacles, the water from her blade seeps deep into the wounds.
Albert: Haaaah!
Next, Albert unleashes a thunderous bolt of lightning.
Tentacles: ...!
The electricity follows the current of Mina's water and into the wounds, dealing critical damage to the tentacles.
Vyrn: Nice! Now it's our turn to take out the monsters, (Captain)!

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 5: Mena's Brilliant Idea - Episode 4: Scene 2

Lyria uses all her might to draw out the primal beast inhabiting Yurius while the others defend her from incoming dangers. But Yurius won't go down easily, and Lyria's body is pushed to its limits.

Albert: Can you make it, Lyria?
Lyria: Yes!
Lyria focuses on absorbing the parasitic primal beast from Yurius.
Lyria: Just... a little... more...
Yurius: Guh...
Mena: You can do it, Lyria!
Vyrn: You got this, Lyria!
With the words of encouragement at her back, Lyria pushes herself to absorb the primal.
But (Captain) and the others don't realize the massive toll it will take on Lyria's body.

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 6: Truth - Episode 1

Lyria's body strains under the pressure of absorbing the primal beast, but she somehow succeeds in drawing it out. The room becomes filled with magical energy, revealing a lost fragment of Yurius's memories.

Yurius's parasitic primal beast attempts to consume the party by sending out waves of tentacles and monsters at them.
While (Captain) and the others hold off the monsters, Lyria does her best to absorb the primal beast.
Lyria: ...!
Vyrn: Lyria, you look really pale...
Lyria: Yurius and the primal... are fighting back...
Lyria: But I've almost got it...
Albert: Lyria! Don't push yourself!
Lyria: No! I'm okay!
Lyria: Aaaah!
Vyrn: Lyria!
Lyria lets out a piercing scream as if she'd been shocked. (Captain) is by her side in a flash to steady her.
Magical energy courses throughout every inch of the throne room.
???: Know... at all?
Albert: That voice!
Albert turns instinctively to look at Yurius.
Mina: Who said that?
Albert: You can hear it too, Mina? Just what is going on?
Lyria: I think it's a fragment... filled with the primal's power...
Lyria: A fragment of Yurius's memory...

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 6: Truth - Episode 2

The memory fragment reveals that Yurius is actually the illegitimate child of the king. He was originally a researcher devoted to the kingdom, but the years and years of repressed darkness in his heart finally bubbled to the surface.

Yurius: I was the eldest son of a duke. That was the status given to me after I was born.
Yurius: But before that? I was the future child of an expectant court lady.
Yurius: A child sired by the king himself.
Yurius: The king was fond of lineage but also bravery of the heart.
Yurius: It didn't surprise me that he forgot about an academic like me. Yet it never crossed my mind to blame him for that.
Yurius: I had more important things to think about besides his opinions.
Yurius: I had a friend amongst the knights who accepted my habit of researching from morning till night.
Yurius: That place meant more to me than the royal blood flowing through my veins.
Yurius: I had to protect the knights. I had to protect my kingdom. That's what I believed.
Yurius: I thought my strong convictions were enough to shield me from the solicitations of the Astral Void Lacrima.
Yurius: But my faith wavered.
Yurius: My father, His Majesty, told me he was shuttering my research. He was giving the Skyblade to Albert.
King of Levin: This sword belongs in the hands of someone who is completely devoted to his kingdom!
Yurius: All the ills I had pretended not to see were dredged out from the depths of my heart by my father's words.
Yurius: A miserable childhood raised by a cold-hearted duke to whom I had no relation to.
Yurius: The jeers and taunts from total strangers who knew the truth behind my salacious conception.
Yurius: Don't deny your birthright. Don't despise your upbringing. And above all else, don't hate yourself.
Yurius: Whatever shred of dignity I had left lost all meaning at that very moment.
Yurius: The rage I felt toward the king and the power of the primal beast could no longer be repressed.
Albert: What have you done to yourself?
Albert: Your Majesty! What's going on?
Yurius: So you go to him first and not to me.
King of Levin: See for yourself! With the raw, surging power of the Astral Void Lacrima...
King of Levin: He's been plotting behind the scenes to kill me!
Yurius: I can actually see the disdain in your words, Father.
Albert: No, Yurius would never—
King of Levin: What are you waiting for? He's a threat to the kingdom! Dispose of him at once!
King of Levin: Just look at the form he's taken! What more proof do you need?
Yurius: Albert looked at me, weighing his options.
Yurius: It was a look of trust and doubt in equal measure. Our trust and friendship looked upon with clouded eyes of devotion to his king.
Yurius: Ugh... This is pointless!
Yurius: Obey your king's biddings, Albert. Don't we all have a purpose? Have I not played the role that was bestowed upon me?

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 6: Truth - Episode 3

After watching Yurius's memories, Albert realizes that he was responsible for Yurius's feelings of betrayal. Yurius is enraged at the accusations of wanting the throne when all he really wants is the power of the primal beasts residing within Lyria.

Mina: What we just saw... Was that part of Yurius's memory? But that means...
Mona: It can't be... His Majesty wanted to have Yurius killed?
The memory that Lyria pulled out of Yurius reveals his true feelings.
Albert: I was weak-willed... and betrayed your trust.
Albert: And that's why you came to hate me and the king. Is that also why you wanted the throne?
Albert, fists clenched, stares at Yurius who sits where the former king once sat.
Yurius: Heh heh... Hahaha... Bwahaha!
Albert: ...!
Yurius: Straight to the point as always, Albert! You're oversimplistic!
Yurius: I could never forget how I was discarded by the king, tossed aside like garbage to be raised like garbage. But the throne?
Yurius: Who do you take me for?
Yurius: What I want is power.
Yurius: I'll be able to do anything I want once I have it. Like this!
Lyria: Ungh... Aaaah!
Vyrn: Lyria! What is it?
Lyria: The primal beasts... are pulling... Aaaah!
Mena: Beasts? There are more than one?
Yurius: Marvelous... You really are a wondrous girl!

Eye of the Storm - Chapter 6: Truth - Episode 4

Albert tries to bring Yurius back to his senses by bringing up their friendship, but Yurius claims no one can understand his pain. Albert comes to terms with his own mistakes, but force is required to make Yurius realize his.

Albert: Yurius!
Yurius: Ooh... What is it, my dear friend? Have you finally decided to join me?
Albert: Why didn't you come to me when you started hearing voices?
Albert: We're different; I get that. Any one can see you're clearly the smarter one.
Albert: But we still shared the same goal, didn't we? To protect the kingdom?
Albert: I thought we both had that same burning passion!
Yurius: ...
Albert: If only you had come to me, you never would've fallen for the primal beast's deception!
Albert: I know you lost faith in me when I allowed myself to be tricked, but—
Yurius: You would've believed me if I had told you everything? You, the Thunderswift Lord, servant of a corrupt king?
Yurius: There was a time when I might have believed that.
Yurius: Of all the people I knew, I could count on you and you alone not to betray me, Albert.
Yurius: But then I saw the truth that day. You were a pawn of the king after all!
Yurius: There's not a single soul in this kingdom who could possibly understand my pain! My devotion!
Albert: Yurius...
Albert: (It wasn't because we drove you into a corner that day.)
Albert: (It was our failure, both the king's and my own, to understand you that shattered your trust.)
Yurius: Do you remember what I always used to say to you?
Yurius: You can't solve everything by yourself.
Yurius: We all have our own ghosts, things we regret. We want to set things right and make a fresh start.
Albert: Heh...
Albert: You were never shy about saying whatever popped into your head.
A smirk creeps onto Albert's face while he muses to himself. Then he turns to face Yurius.
Albert: How many times have you lectured me, Yurius? Have you forgotten your own words?
Yurius: ...!
Albert: Look at what you've become! It's all because you tried to solve everything yourself! You're nothing but a hypocritical shell of a man!
Mena: Oooh!
Mina: Albert!
Mona: Did he really just say that?
Albert: I was tricked by the primal beast that day. I failed to believe in you, and I have to bear responsibility for my mistake.
Albert: But what you're doing is wrong too! You've clearly lost your way!
Yurius: Hah! If you're so damn sure what I'm doing is wrong, then why don't you try to set me straight?
Yurius: Think you can handle it, Albert? Ahahaha!
Albert: Power won't set you free!
Albert: Come back to us, knight! That's an order from your leader!
Yurius: Bwahahaha!

Eye of the Storm - Ending

Yurius asks Lyria to leave him in his mutated state so that he can go into exile, but everyone convinces him to stay in Levin. Lyria restores him to his original form, and he promises to give his life to Levin as a means of atonement.

(Captain) and the others defeat the primal beast inhabiting Yurius's body. With great effort Yurius regains control.
Yurius: ...
Lyria: Hang on, Yurius! I'm going to see if I can return you to the way you were!
Albert: I'm counting on you, Lyria.
Lyria: Leave it to me!
Yurius: No, could you wait a second, please?
Mina: Why are you hesitating, Yurius?
Mena: Yeah, those wiggly things are really getting on my nerves!
Lyria: Are you worried? I don't think it'll hurt or anything...
Yurius: Thank you, Lyria, as well as the rest of you. You've already done so much for me.
Yurius: I honestly can't thank you enough.
Albert: Me neither. (Captain), you and your crew deserve our thanks too.
Lyria: You don't have to say all that! You know we're your friends, Albert.
Lyria: And there's nothing we like to do more than to help out our friends. Right, (Captain)?
Yurius: Even so, I'd like to thank you. Now as much as it pains me to go against your wishes after all that's happened...
Albert: Yurius?
Yurius: I think it'd be for the best if I stayed like this, Albert.
Albert: Huh? What are you talking about?
Vyrn: Yeah, are you nuts? We can finally turn you back!
Probably...
Yurius: I think this is a fitting punishment for yielding to the primal beast's trickery. I don't deserve to go back to the way I was.
Albert: Yurius...
Mena: You can't do that! You'll freak out everyone in the kingdom!
Yurius: Yes, I know. That's why I'll go into exile.
Mina: Please don't...
Albert: ...
  1. Hold up!
  2. That's stupid!

Choose: Hold up!
Lyria: Yes, please think this over, Yurius!
Lyria: Before we met, I absorbed a small part of you that broke off when you were possessed by the primal beast.
Lyria: And right now it's telling me that it doesn't want you to leave Levin.

Choose: That's stupid!
Vyrn: You said it! What kinda person chooses to go through life with a bunch of tentacles stickin' out of 'em, especially when there's a cure?
Vyrn: Look, getting Levin back into shape isn't gonna be a walk in the park.
Vyrn: If you wanna show everyone you're really sorry, then you gotta roll up your sleeves and pitch in!
Continue 1
Yurius: Hmm...
Mina: Please, Yurius, we need you.
Mona: Yeah! It's too much for Albert to handle on his own.
Mena: And if that happens, Mina's gonna work us to an early grave!
Mina: Don't say stuff like that!
Albert: You said it yourself, Yurius.
Albert: You can't solve everything by yourself.
Yurius: ...
Albert: You know how I am. I'll end up slipping and put too much pressure on Mina.
Albert: I need you to remind me when I mess up. You have to keep me in check.
Albert: The restoration of Levin is best done together, wouldn't you agree, old friend?
Yurius: ...
Yurius: Okay.
Lyria: Great! Are you ready, Yurius?
Yurius: Yes, I leave it to you. Return me back to how I once was, Lyria.
Lyria: I'll do my best!
Some time has passed since the events revolving around the Celestial Eye and the Astral Void Lacrima.
With the threat of the Celestial Eye gone, Levin looks toward rebuilding its future.
Albert: I'm coming in, Yurius.
Yurius: Welcome back, Thunderswift Lord.
Albert: Hey, I told you to stop it with that.
Vyrn: Hehe, then how 'bout Old Man Sparky?
Albert: Cut that out! I'm still in the prime of my life!
Mena: Ahahaha! You set him off!
Mina: Okay, enough games. Give Yurius the reconstruction reports.
Mona: With pleasure. Here's the damage report for the commercial district.
Yurius: Thanks. I'll be able to figure out how much material we need to order with this.
Mena: It's not a total loss, but the damage done by the Celestial Eye is a real doozy.
Albert: Ouch. Good thing we have a very reliable Disaster Operations Planning Executive right here.
Yurius: D-O-P...
Oh... Gee, did you spend all night coming up with that, Thunderswift Lord? Talk about petty revenge.
Lyria: Heehee!
Albert: Hm? Something funny, Lyria?
Lyria: Oh no, I was just thinking it was nice to see Yurius back to normal again.
Mina: You went above and beyond for us.
Mona: We would've lost Yurius forever if it hadn't been for you, Lyria.
Lyria: I just did what I could. That's all...
Yurius: Be that as it may, there aren't many people who'd go to such lengths for a total stranger.
Lyria: Gosh, now I'm starting to get embarrassed.
Albert: Haha. We've got to follow Lyria's example and work for Levin and its people.
Yurius: That's right. We still need to figure out a way around Levin's lack of natural resources.
Yurius: I vow to give my life to my homeland in order to atone for my crimes.
Mena: Geez, lighten up, Yurius! Don't be such a stuffy head.
Yurius: Whoops, Albert's bad habits must be rubbing off on me.
Albert: Watch it, buddy...
Albert: (I never thought we'd be able to return to the days of such easy back and forth. It's almost too good to be true.)
Albert: ((Captain)... Lyria... I owe you a great deal.)
The Sky Knights reunite under the banner of friendship and kingdom.
There's still unease among the populace over the lack of an ascendant to the throne.
But with the Thunderswift Lord and his friends working together, the clouds will break, shining the way forward to a bright new future.
