Granblue Fighter V - Opening
New challengers appear in the Phantagrande Skydom, each with their own objectives. Whether to complete a mission, to find an old friend, or to satisfy their pride, they all continue pushing forward. Little do they know, it will not be long before they cross paths.
The Phantagrande Skydom. A region made up of many islands. This is the place where airships fly and dreams sail on their wings.
However, it is not all light in these skies. For where there is light, there must also be darkness... darkness that can devour the light.
F.A.N.G: The first part of our plan is already in place. The new vessel will be yours, Lord Vega.
Vega: Hah hah hah. For your own sake, F.A.N.G, it had better be!
???: …………
New breezes are always blowing across the sky. They lead heroes on new, exciting adventures into the unknown.
Rashid: Alright then, let's start looking for clues on where to find him.
Karin: Ah, ha ha ha haa! An old warrior seeking a strong opponent... I look forward to meeting him!
The endless sky is open to all dreams. The powerful dreams are drawn together, seeming to collide with one another.
Granblue Fighter V - Turbulent Wind, Noble Ally - Episode 1
(Captain) and company are on the run from some strange thugs. They try to return to the airship, but the thugs surround them and block their escape. Just when things are looking bad, Rashid comes to the rescue.
In a town somewhere, (Captain) and company find themselves being chased by a group of troublesome thugs.
Unruly Thug: Now where are those little rats?
Lyria: Huff... huff...
What's with those guys?
Vyrn: Looks like they're tryin' to capture us. They might be workin' for the Empire!
Lyria: Oh... You might be right, Vyrn.
Vyrn: There's an awful lot of 'em after us. We'd be in real trouble if they surrounded us.
Vyrn: I think we're safe for now. Let's get back to the ship and get outta here!
(Captain) takes Lyria's hand and starts running back to the ship. But behind them, they can hear voices in the distance.
Unruly Thug: There they are! The skyfarers! Get 'em!
Vyrn: Crud! They found us! (Captain), run!
Sinister Thug: Hey, don't let 'em get away!
Vyrn: Oh no! They're coming in around us!
Surrounded by the thugs, (Captain) gets ready for a fight.
Rashid: Hold on now, are you really going to fight a couple of children?
Sinister Thug: Shut it! You got no business here!
Rashid: Whoa there, you're being a little aggressive. As a man of justice, I can't just look the other way!
Unruly Thug: Nuts, this one's a rat, too. Better take 'em all out!
Vyrn: Crud! We're just gonna have to fight 'em!
Rashid: Hahaha. I like the way you think! Let me give you a hand!
Rashid: I am a hero of the wind who travels the world. I am Rashid of the Turbulent Wind!
Granblue Fighter V - Turbulent Wind, Noble Ally - Episode 2
Rashid captures one of the thugs for questioning. When they learn that the thugs have been sent by Shadaloo to kidnap (Captain) and company, more thugs rush in and attack.
Unruly Thug: Ungh... Who are these guys? They're... tough...
Sinister Thug: They're thrashin' us! I'm gettin' outta here!
Intimidated by (Captain), the thugs started to run away.
Rashid: Hey now, you just caused all that trouble for these poor kids, and you're not even going to say you're sorry?
Unruly Thug: Ahh—!
With Rashid's gale holding the thugs by their feet, it seems (Captain) is the one doing the capturing this time.
Rashid: Now you guys... Can you tell me why you were going after these kids?
Unruly Thug: W-we were hired! By Shadaloo! We're sorry!
Rashid: Shadaloo?
Lyria: Isn't Shadaloo that group Chun-Li was following?
Rashid: Ah, yeah, they are a pretty big crime syndicate. Wait, those guys? They're going after children?
Violent Thug: Hey! It's those brats Shadaloo's lookin' for! I don't care what you gotta do, nab 'em!
Vyrn: What? Shadaloo hired these guys, too? There's too many of 'em!
Rashid: And they don't look like they wanna talk it out, either!
Violent Thug: Get 'em!
Granblue Fighter V - Turbulent Wind, Noble Ally - Episode 3
When (Captain) and company become tired of fighting all the thugs, Rashid suggests they take the fight to Shadaloo's headquarters. The crew attempts to extract its location from the thugs.
Vyrn: Man, it's just one after another!
Lyria: We're sorry, Rashid... for getting you caught up in all of this.
Rashid: Don't worry about it! Didn't I tell you? I'm a man of justice.
Rashid: Going up against Shadaloo is kinda rough, but I can't just ignore an attempted kidnapping.
Vyrn: Ugh... It looks like there's still a lot of 'em left. There's no way we can fight 'em all!
Rashid: Yeah, you're right. This... is starting to look bad.
Rashid: Haha, hey, I've got an idea. Why don't we go straight to Shadaloo Headquarters and crush them at the core?
Vyrn: Yeah. If we don't do that, there's no way we'll be able to get them off our tails!
Vyrn: Let's find out where they're hiding and womp 'em!
Rashid: You're even crazier than I thought, little lizard!
Vyrn: I ain't no lizard!
Rashid: What? Really? Well, anyway, are you really going to beat them up if you find them?
Vyrn: Yeah! And we'll find 'em somehow. Wait a minute... Do you know where they are, cyclone man?
Rashid: Uh, well, I don't know... But I'm sure one of those guys does!
Mean Thug: There they are!
Rashid: We'll just make them tell us who hired them. Isn't that a brilliant idea?
Mean Thug: We'll shut you up, you runts!
Granblue Fighter V - Turbulent Wind, Noble Ally - Episode 4
(Captain) and company arrive at Shadaloo Headquarters. There, they find F.A.N.G, the one responsible for their attempted kidnapping. F.A.N.G challenges the crew to a battle in order to test if (Captain) will be a worthy vessel for Shadaloo's leader, Vega.
At Shadaloo Headquarters, a man stands and listens to a report from his subordinate. After hearing the report, he begins to sigh.
F.A.N.G: They got the location of our base from those miscreants? I see. Well... they're smarter than I thought.
F.A.N.G: It seems the great F.A.N.G will have to take care of this.
Shadaloo Member: Ahh—!
F.A.N.G: ...!
Rashid: Excuse us! Are you the man in charge here?
F.A.N.G: Well, you're here early. I don't believe we've met.
F.A.N.G: I am F.A.N.G, one of the four kings of Shadaloo.
Vyrn: You're the one that's been trying to kidnap (Captain)!
F.A.N.G: Yes, and I suppose I should thank you for delivering yourselves to me.
F.A.N.G: I, the great F.A.N.G, will present you as a powerful new vessel for Lord Vega!
Granblue Fighter V - Turbulent Wind, Noble Ally - Episode 4: Scene 2
Defeated, F.A.N.G goes into a rage and sticks out his poison fist at (Captain). Vega emerges to stop his attack and tells (Captain) that he will return for his new vessel after it has become more powerful. Without another word, the two men vanish.
F.A.N.G: Uaguh!
Vyrn: We did it! Hey you, don't you even think of trying to kidnap (Captain)!
F.A.N.G: Ungh...! Don't get cocky with me, you brats!
Rashid: Whoa, are you still standing after all that?
F.A.N.G: I'll kill you! I'll kill you!
Yelling, F.A.N.G stomps on the ground and strikes out his poison fist towards [:character].
But suddenly, F.A.N.G's clenched fist is brought to a halt.
Vyrn: What? Who is that?
Vega: ...
F.A.N.G: L-Lord Vega!
Ignoring F.A.N.G, Vega casts his gaze upon (Captain).
Vega: (Captain). You have defeated F.A.N.G. That is why you will become my new body.
Vega: You're more powerful than the last time. With time, I am sure you will become even more powerful.
Vega: And when you reach the pinnacle of your strength, I will take possession of your body!
Vyrn: I wouldn't be so sure of that!
Vega: Ha ha ha! I'll be back when the time comes.
Roaring with laughter, Vega takes F.A.N.G and disappears using his incredible powers.
Vyrn: That's right, run away! And don't come back!
Rashid: Man, those Shadaloo guys really piss me off! Seriously!
Lyria: Hey, um, Rashid... Thank you for helping us out.
Rashid: Nah, it was nothing. All I really did was chase them away.
Lyria: No, really! You saved the day! Right, (Captain)?
Nodding in agreement, (Captain) thanks Rashid.
Rashid: Stop it, you're embarassing me! ...Keep it up.
Rashid: Just call me if those Shadaloo guys ever come back! Rashid of the Turbulent Wind will be back to save the day.
The shadows of Shadaloo that were chasing after (Captain) are gone for now.
(Captain), Rashid, and their friends all knew that Shadaloo would be back. But for now, they can't help but feel relieved that everything turned out okay.
Granblue Fighter V - The Girl of No Fear - Episode 1
Siero calls (Captain) and company to the Knickknack Shack, where they meet Karin, head of the Kanzuki Zaibatsu. Karin tells (Captain) of her quest to meet Necalli and asks that the crew accompany her. Accepting her request, they soon set off for their destination.
(Captain) and company visit the Knickknack Shack at Siero's request.
Siero: Thanks for coming, everyone!
Vyrn: Siero, is everything alright?
Siero: Well, actually...
Karin: Shopkeeper, are those the skyfarers that will be escorting me?
Lyria: Umm... Well, we are skyfarers. But, who are you?
Karin: I'm sorry, I seem to have forgotten my manners. I am Karin Kanzuki.
Siero: Karin is a member of the Kanzuki Zaibatsu. Even I trade with them!
Siero: Oh wait, aren't you the head of the corporation?
Karin: Yes. My father has passed control over to me.
Vyrn: Wow, in charge at such a young age! That's amazing.
Karin: It is an honor to receive such praise. However, any heir in the Kanzuki family would, of course, be given the same responsibility.
Vyrn: So then, what do you want with us, Curly Fry?
Karin: Curly Fry? How rude! Who are you calling Curly Fry?
Vyrn: Gulp.
Karin: The reason I've called you here is because I would like to have you escort me on your airship.
Lyria: Escort... you?
Karin: Yes. I'll be meeting with a man by the name of Necalli.
Karin: Would you be so kind as to take me to the island where he might be?
Vyrn: She wants us to be her bodyguards. This'll be easy! Right, (Captain)?
Karin: Oh, I won't be needing any bodyguards. But this little adventure might be dangerous for anyone who can't protect themselves.
Karin: Since Siero has recommended you, surely you have the proper strength. Now, if you please.
Vyrn: (Captain) is real tough, so you can rest easy with us!
Lyria: Alright then, (Captain), let's go!
Siero: Okay everyone, take care!
(Captain) and company take Karin and depart for their destination.
Granblue Fighter V - The Girl of No Fear - Episode 2
Karin tells (Captain) and company about how Necalli is an ancient warrior that eats the souls of powerful fighters. Despite the obvious danger, Karin seeks to prove her strength and uphold the Kanzuki family motto, All you need is victory!
Karin: I see I was right to rely on that shopkeeper. You certainly are very strong.
Vyrn: You're not too bad yourself, Curly Fry! (Captain) might not be able to keep up!
Karin: I told you to stop calling me "Curly Fry"!
Lyria: Oh, that reminds me. That person you're going to see, Necalli. What sort of person is he?
Karin: They say Necalli is an ancient warrior that blocks the path of powerful fighters and devours their souls.
Lyria: What! He eats... souls?
Karin: Yes. They say he appears before powerful fighters he deems worthy, but I'm not the type to sit and wait.
Vyrn: Wait a minute! Are you saying you want to find this guy?
Karin: Of course. As the Kanzuki family motto goes, "All you need is victory!"
Karin: If he's strong enough to take the souls of the powerful, then he should be a worthy opponent.
Karin: Ah, ha ha ha haa! Fighting someone like that will prove my power to the world!
With a passenger full of confidence, (Captain) and company begin their descent toward the island where they believe they will find Necalli.
Granblue Fighter V - The Girl of No Fear - Episode 3
On the island where Necalli resides, monsters rampage around in search of powerful warriors. Karin deduces that their condition is caused by Necalli, reinforcing her belief that Necalli must be nearby.
Lyria: Do you think the monsters on this island are acting kind of... strange?
Vyrn: Yeah. Like they're kind of aggressive. I feel like they're really coming after us.
Lyria: It's almost as if they're not afraid to get hurt or anything...
Karin: ...I believe that may all be caused by Necalli.
Vyrn: What? What are you talking about?
Karin: I heard that once a living creature encounters Necalli, its soul becomes tainted. Then it rampages and targets the souls of powerful warriors.
Karin: Yes... just like Necalli...
Lyria: He has that power?
Karin: It does present some danger, but it's also a good sign.
Karin: It means that Necalli must be here on this island.
Vyrn: Well yeah, but it's kinda hard to find the guy when we've got so many monsters to fight.
Karin: Ha ha. If this is all we have to fight, it shouldn't take much time at all, should it (Captain)?
Karin: Well then, let's go find Necalli!
(Captain), Karin, and company continue to fight the oncoming monsters as they push forward on their search.
Granblue Fighter V - The Girl of No Fear - Episode 4
In the far reaches of the island, the crew discovers Necalli battling a monster. Necalli recognizes Karin and (Captain) as powerful fighters, and challenges them in an attempt to take their souls.
Monster: Roooaaaarrrr!
Necalli: Weak-eak-eak!
Monster: Urrrrgh!
Karin: There he is! That must be Necalli!
Necalli: ...! Strong souls... Devour-our-our!
Karin: Well! Of course he's going after me, but he seems to think that (Captain) is powerful, too!
Karin: No matter who defeats him, one of us is going to be jealous!
Necalli: Shuuwaaaa!
Karin: You vulgar brute. Even with that ancient power, Karin Kanzuki will defeat you!
Granblue Fighter V - The Girl of No Fear - Episode 4: Scene 2
Having defeated Necalli, Karin promises (Captain) that she will have the Kanzuki Zaibatsu analyze Necalli's powers. But just as they prepare to take Necalli's body away, he mysteriously vanishes, leaving Karin to await their next battle.
Necalli: Jyaraaaaa!
Vyrn: Did we...win?
Karin: Haha, it seems he's not all he's made out to be. His fighting style may be too old to take my soul.
Necalli: Grrrrrr...!
Vyrn: Maybe, but his power to infect souls is still too dangerous!
Lyria: Yeah... but I don't really think he uses it knowingly.
Vyrn: Even so, we've gotta seal away or fix that soul-tainting power or something.
Karin: Well, in that case, let's have the Kanzuki research labs take care of him.
Karin: We've got some rather effective researchers. I'm sure they can think of something.
Lyria: Really? That's great! ...Well then, let's just bring him with us.
Necalli: Rrrraaaaaa!
Turning around, (Captain) sees Necalli roar as his body melts out of existence.
Necalli: Next time-ime...
I will devour your souls-ouls-ouls...!
The only thing that was left was the echo of Necalli's voice.
Vyrn: What! He m-melted! What happened to him? Was that magic or something?
Karin: I see. So that's how Necalli kept appearing in front of powerful warriors.
Vyrn: This is no time to relax! Doesn't this mean he's gonna infect more monsters?
Karin: Ah, ha ha ha haa! Well then, we can use them to find Necalli again.
Karin: And next time, I'll be sure to destroy him completely.
Karin: Then, I'll carefully analyze his powers and figure out how to save the people he's attacked.
Vyrn: Wow, you're confident.
Karin: Of course! Karin Kanzuki never fails. And next time, we won't miss our chance!
Karin: Ah, ha ha ha haa! I look forward to our next battle!
Despite Necalli's terrifying powers, Karin was not the least bit afraid.
Maybe someday, the skies will bear witness to her might.
Granblue Fighter V - Ending
With the help of Rashid and Karin, (Captain) and company fend off Shadaloo and Necalli. Though they know their enemies will return, they relax and enjoy a moment of relief.
With the help of Rashid and Karin, (Captain) and company managed to fend off some powerful foes.
Rashid: Well, it looks like things have calmed down around here. But something still doesn't feel right.
Vyrn: Yeah, it's not like Shadaloo and Necalli have been defeated or anything.
Karin: With enemies like that, no matter how many times they come after you, you just have to keep fighting them off.
Karin: It's just like with the Kanzuki Zaibatsu. They continue to expand into new skydoms, and I continue to clean up after them.
Lyria: Wow, Karin! They sure can rely on you!
Karin: Ah, ha ha ha haa! Nothing can stop the Kanzuki family!
Rashid: Well, I've still got business with Shadaloo, so it'd be convenient if we ran into them again.
Lyria: Oh, that's right. You said they've got a debt to pay.
Rashid: Yeah, so I'll be around gathering information for a while.
Vyrn: What exactly happened between you and them?
Rashid: It's sort of a long story... Well, maybe not.
Karin: If it's going to be a long story, I'd like to get some tea first.
Nodding, (Captain) goes off with Lyria to get the tea.
Someday, the weather in the sky may change. And someday, a new storm may come.
But that's why these warriors must rest while they can. They will need their strength in the battles ahead.
