A magician who served under King Uriens of Hibergreif. Hailed as a genius mage in his late teenage years, rumors spread of Merlin even outside of the country's borders. He is known as the last survivor of the druids—a group from the days of Avalon, born of fairy and mortal.
When his beloved King Uriens was murdered in front of him, Merlin became consumed by the desire for revenge, as well as to resurrect Uriens from the dead. Drawn by his talent in magic, people gathered around him and formed the cabal, an organization the three-nation alliance was wary of. However, Merlin was uninterested in anything but his own objectives and had no will to lead the cabal.
Though Merlin stays by Mordred's side after the young king's return to Hibergreif, he remains tormented by his past sins, his yearning for the past, and the future that Mordred fights for.
