A Soul Reaper and lieutenant of Squad 10 of the Thirteen Court Guard Squads. Hitsugaya's polar opposite in personality, Matsumoto is the epitome of a free spirit. While she can sometimes be seen as a loose cannon with even looser concerns for responsibility, having a penchant for skipping out on work and utterly zero remorse when reprimanded by Hitsugaya, her resolve is hard as steel in times of battle or emergency.
Her Zanpakuto is called Haineko, and when she releases its power, its blade turns to a form similar to ash and scatters. With a simple flick of her wrist, swinging the hilt, she can cut through any place touched by the ash. By taking advantage of Haineko's ash-like properties, she engaged in a joint attack with Hitsugaya.
