Robomi - Opening

Miners unearth a mysterious steel statue on Fremel Island. Hearing rumor of the ancient artifact, (Captain) and crew travel to the Rashomon Research Vessel to see the object firsthand.

Miner 1: And heave!
Miner 2: Put your back into it!
Miner 1: Ho ho! You're working hard today!
Miner 2: It's all for the wife! Her birthday's comin' up! Hahaha!
Deep within the earth of Fremel Island, the tunnels echo with the sound of pickaxes.
The burly workers are mining iron and red steel ore to support the factories of Valtz.
Miner 1: Right! One last leg, and we're stopping for lunch!
Miner 2: Oh! I got something!
Miner 1: What was that? Didn't sound like any ore I ever heard.
Miner 2: Hm... Feels like I hit a block of solid iron!
Miner 1: Let's see... Hm. Yep, that's refined iron, all right. No doubt about it.
Miner 2: That's crazy talk! Anything this deep down's gotta be thousands of years old!
Although confused, the pair continue mining. Eventually, they unearth the entire lump of glinting iron.
Miner 1: Well, I'll be! Looks to me like some kind of steel statue!
Miner 2: Can't imagine some fella buried this here just yesterday... Can't imagine it's been here thousands of years either though.
Miner 1: Don't look at me! How should I know! Sheesh... Never thought we'd ever dig something like this up.
Miner 2: Wonder what else could be down here. Think we should get someone to look this place over? A professional?
Miner 1: Heard there was some kinda famous geologist visiting the duchy...
Miner 2: All right! Work's on hold for now! Let's see if we can't find the guy!
The mysterious steel statue is taken to the research vessel of Dr. Rashomon.
There the Rashomon team works day and night, and they eventually arrive upon a hypothesis about the mysterious statue.
Young Mechanic: Dr. Rashomon, could I have a word?
Dr. Rashomon: Hm? Ah, Nicholas. What have you found out?
Nicholas: Our theory about the statue being a machina soldier from a long-lost civilization, I think we might just be able to prove it.
Dr. Rashomon: Truly? What do you propose?
Nicholas: It's promising, Doc. I've built a device that uses electromagnetic waves to transmit spoken words to the artifact.
Nicholas: With hope, we might see some sort of response. Would you like to come and observe the experiment?
Dr. Rashomon: But of course! Let's go, Nicholas!
Dr. Rashomon and his assistant work around the clock in search of unlocking the mysteries behind the steel statue.
Their experiments within the laboratory continue late into the night.
Steel Statue: ...
Dr. Rashomon: There! Nicholas, did you see it? I believe we've gotten a response!
Nicholas: I saw it! Now, maybe if I shift the channel down a notch and increase the frequency—
Steel Statue: ...!
Both: Whoa!
The statue begins to move as it reacts to the signals of the device.
The duo jumps for joy seeing the millenia-old statue come to life.
Dr. Rashomon: We did it! Nicholas, do you know what this means? This could be one of the greatest scientific discoveries of our generation!
Nicholas: I didn't actually think it was going to move! This is amazing!
Marie: Now what're you two doing in the lab at this hour? I could've heard you hooting from the next island over!
Dr. Rashomon: Oh, Marie! Impeccable timing you have! Come, come!
Nicholas: Marie, check this out! Are you ready? All right, here we go!
Steel Statue: ...!
Both: Did you see that? It moved! It really moved!
Marie: Ooh. My, my. Well done.
Marie: But aren't you two supposed to go have a look at the mines tomorrow? You should get to bed. It's late!
Dr. Rashomon: Analyzing the mine? Oh, of course!
Marie: You're the geologist, Dad! I shouldn't have to remind you. Anyway, I'm off to bed. Good night!
Nicholas: Uh-oh, I totally forgot! I'll prepare the excavation machinery!
Dr. Rashomon: Wait, Nicholas. I'll help you. I doubt I'll get any sleep with all this excitement anyway.
By morning all of Valtz is abuzz with rumors about the Rashomon Team's discovery.
The rumors find their way to (Captain) and the crew, who are more than a little curious about the steel artifact.
Vyrn: Hm, like (Captain) said, if that steel statue's a primal beast, then we definitely need to check it out before someone gets hurt.
Vyrn: The Rashomon Research Vessel... Is that it over there?
Upon alighting from the Grandcypher onto Fremel Island's docks, the crew is greeted by a member of the Rashomon Team.
Marie: We've been expecting you. Tzaka the Great told us you would be coming. Right this way.
Vyrn: Whoa, so this is what a research vessel looks like! I've never been on one before!
Marie: Hehe. Many of our visitors have said the same.
Marie: The research we do requires us to visit numerous islands to study their geological properties. So we needed a special ship—a flying laboratory to travel with us.
Vyrn: Ooh. Being a geologist kinda sounds like being a skyfarer!
Lyria: Eek! What was that sound?
Marie: Ah! Ahaha... I'm sorry if that startled you.
Marie: You see, Nicholas, our mechanical engineer, is helping us to build our own excavation equipment.
Vyrn: Sounds more like something got blown up, not built.
Marie: Well... He and my father have a habit of dedicating resources to matters unrelated to geological research...
Marie: They've managed to keep it from affecting our main research, but the budget for these side projects can only stretch so far.
Marie: Judging from what we just heard, no doubt my father and Nicholas have build yet another strange contraption.
Lyria: Oh dear! They sound like a handful!
The crew heads deeper into the research vessel to meet Dr. Rashomon, Nicholas, and the mysterious steel statue.
Little do they know, however, that an ancient weapon of destruction is about to awaken.

Robomi - Chapter 1: A Warrior Resurrected - Episode 1

(Captain) and the crew visit the laboratory of Dr. Rashomon, where he is performing an experiment on the steel statue. The crew is surprised when the statue begins to talk and introduces itself as Robomi.

(Captain) and the crew arrive on Fremel Island to investigate a rumor about a mysterious steel statue.
They visit the Rashomon Research Vessel, where the strange statue has been taken in for analysis.
Marie, Dr. Rashomon's daughter, guides them through the research vessel and into the lab.
Vyrn: Wow! So this is the steel statue, huh? Can you sense anything, Lyria?
Lyria: Hm, it doesn't seem to be a primal beast.
Nicholas: We're still trying to work out what it is! Is it all right if we continue the experiments?
Vyrn: Don't mind us! We didn't come here to get in your way!
Dr. Rashomon: Oh no, please, join us! All the better to have more eyes for an experiment like this.
Nicholas: We're ready, Doc.
Dr. Rashomon: Excellent. Commencing steel statue activation attempt sixty-seven.
Nicholas: If my calculations are correct, we should be able to get the statue moving now.
Lyria: Ooh, this is so exciting!
The radio wave device flickers and blinks as it reacts to Nicholas's voice.
The statue begins to creak and then shake about.
Steel Statue: ...!
Vyrn: Whoa! Whatever that was, looks like it worked!
Nicholas: Not quite! We've got this far in the experiment plenty of times. This next part is the real test!
Nicholas's fingers dance over the controls, swiftly moving dials on the radio device.
Nicholas: Steel statue! Arise!
Steel Statue: ...!
Steel Statue: ...!
Dr. Rashomon: It... stood...
Nicholas: It stood up!
Steel Statue: All systems stable. Reboot complete.
Vyrn: Whoa! It talked!
Nicholas: A machine that can talk? Impossible. That had to be a recorded message.
Steel Statue: Incorrect. This unit is capable of independent thought and judgment.
Nicholas: Wha! What are you?
Steel Statue: Information access denied. You have insufficient authorization, Nicholas.
Nicholas: This is amazing. She can understand what we're saying, and even address us using our names. Wow.
Nicholas: Do you have a name? Or do I also lack authorization for that?
Steel Statue: Affirmative. You have insufficient authorization, Nicholas.
Nicholas: Hey now, I don't mean to be rude, but I'm the one who helped get you running again!
Nicholas: Not just anyone can revive such an old machine. I'd say that makes me an authority on the subject.
Nicholas: And seeing as I'm gonna be maintaining you from now on, surely you can at least give me your name?
Steel Statue: ...
Steel Statue: Nicholas, you have been registered as this unit's new engineer.
Steel Statue: You may refer to this unit as Robomi.
Nicholas: Robomi. All right, I'll be looking after your repairs and maintenance! Nice to meet you, Robomi!
Robomi: Nice to meet you, Nicholas.
Dr. Rashomon: Zounds... Who would have imagined that an ancient statue unearthed from deep underground would be able to move and talk like this?
Dr. Rashomon: Ho ho! What a fantastic discovery this is, Nicholas!
Nicholas: Yeah, Doc! This is groundbreaking!
And thus Robomi is reawakened after eons of slumber.
The researchers continue their conversation with the machine in rapt attention, but little do they know of what is to come.

Robomi - Chapter 1: A Warrior Resurrected - Episode 2

The crew determines that Robomi isn't a primal beast or dangerous. But right when they least expect it, the town comes under attack from monsters that seem impervious to even (Captain)'s attacks.

Vyrn: So, this Robomi thing isn't some kind of primal beast, is it?
Nicholas: Probably not. Robomi is probably some kind of machina soldier, just like we theorized.
Robomi: ...
Vyrn: Oh, we thought it would be a primal beast for sure because it was made so long ago.
Nicholas: Ah well, it doesn't seem to be dangerous. It's quite docile, in fact. Oh, and check this out.
Nicholas: Robomi, jump!
Robomi: ...
Intentions unclear. Requesting command details.
Nicholas: It can be difficult to give them, but she responds to orders.
Vyrn: Well, as long as it's not dangerous!
Lyria: Hm, I wonder what Robomi is.
Dr. Rashomon: Evidence is strong that it's even older than the primal beasts.
Dr. Rashomon: The War, where primal beasts were used as weapons, was but several hundred years ago, or perhaps a thousand depending on the theory.
Dr. Rashomon: The rocks at the level where Robomi was excavated are tens of thousands of years old.
Lyria: What? Tens of thousands of years?
Vyrn: Can't believe it...
Vyrn: They were able to build machina soldiers all the way back then? That's crazy.
Nicholas: Yeah, I can't wrap my mind around it either! That's why it's so fascinating! Robomi is a technological marvel!
Dr. Rashomon: Hm, no doubt the civilization which built her was far more advanced than our own.
Dr. Rashomon: If we can reverse engineer and reproduce their technology, our own civilization will see progress in leaps and bounds!
Dr. Rashomon: We must see what else lies within the excavation site. Who knows—
Lyria: Eek!
Vyrn: Whoa! An explosion?
Nicholas: What could possibly have the power to create an explosion that loud? That was battleship armament class!
Vyrn: Scary... What the heck's goin' on?
Marie: Dad! We're in trouble!
Dr. Rashomon: What's going on, Marie?
Marie: Monsters are overrunning the town! We're being advised to evacuate and get away as soon as possible.
Nicholas: Monsters? Shouldn't the town guards be able to take care of that?
Marie: They tried! Now skyfarers have taken up the fight, but they can't hold the monsters off much longer!
Vyrn: What!
Nicholas: This sounds serious...
Dr. Rashomon: Hm. Marie, prepare the ship to take the evacuating civilians in!
Marie: But we might not have enough time!
Dr. Rashomon: Don't worry! We're prepared for this eventuality!
Nicholas: Doc, you saying what I think you're saying?
Dr. Rashomon: It's the best chance we have! Prepare for launch! Nicholas, supervise the evacuees!
Nicholas: Got it!
Nicholas: Robomi! You'll be safe here—stay put and don't move! All right?
Robomi: Affirmative.
Nicholas: Everyone! This way! It's safe inside!
Lyria: Please stay calm and evacuate to the ship!
With Nicholas and (Captain)'s guidance, the townspeople make their way into the research vessel.
(Captain) and company keep guard at the ship's entrance, preparing for the worst.
Child: Waaah! Mommy, I'm scared!
Mother: It's all right! Don't cry! We're going to be fine.
Skyfarer 1: C'mon, man! Get up!
Skyfarer 2: Ngh. That thing got me good...
Marie: Oh no, are you all right? Quick, we need to tend to those wounds!
Vyrn: Hey, the skyfarers are looking pretty beat up. These aren't your average monsters!
Nicholas: The monsters... I see them.
Looking through the town with his binoculars, Nicholas gasps.
Vyrn: What's up, Mecha-Nick?
Nicholas: Those monsters are rampaging through the town. I've never seen ones like these before. And there are so many of them!
Nicholas: There's far too many of them to have been brought here on some ship. What's going on?
Monster: Groarrr!
Nicholas: Whoa!
Vyrn: It's attacking! Get back!
Nicholas: Damn it!
Marie: Nicholas!
Lyria: Nicholas is in danger, (Captain)! Please help him!
With weapon in hand, (Captain) lunges at the monster attacking Nicholas.
Monster: Groarrr!
Monster: Groooarrr!
Vyrn: Wha! That didn't even leave a scratch!

Robomi - Chapter 1: A Warrior Resurrected - Episode 3

The crew retreat as they are pursued by the strange monsters that seem immune to their attacks. Dr. Rashomon appears with the secret weapon Gigantes, which shields (Captain) and the crew.

Vyrn: Hey, what's wrong, (Captain)? Hit 'em!
Swing after swing, (Captain) attacks, but something strange is happening.
For some reason, none of (Captain)'s attacks make contact.
In the face of this dire and bizarre situation, (Captain) is forced to make a decision.
  1. Tactical retreat!
  2. Sic 'em, Vyrn!

Choose: Tactical retreat!
Vyrn: What? You wanna run away? I've never heard you say that before, (Captain)!
Lyria: Vyrn! These monsters aren't like the ones we've fought before! They're not like primal beasts either!
Nicholas: We've finished evacuating the townspeople! Let's get back inside the ship!

Choose: Sic 'em, Vyrn!
Vyrn: Wha? Me?
Vyrn: Guess that makes me your secret weapon! All right, (Captain)! Leave it to me!
Lyria: Wait, Vyrn! These monsters aren't like the ones we've fought before! They're not like primal beasts either!
Vyrn: I won't let (Captain) down! This is my time to shine!
Lyria: It's dangerous to keep fighting them! We have to get out of here! Come on, Vyrn!
Vyrn: Bring it on! I'll take whatever you've got, you lousy monsters!
Lyria: Yikes! Nicholas, help! Now Vyrn's in danger too!
Nicholas: I've got him!
Vyrn: H-hey! Let me go!
Nicholas: Sorry, Vyrn. I can't let you put yourself in danger.
Nicholas: All right, we've finished evacuating the townspeople! Let's get inside the ship before any more crazy stuff goes down!
Continue 1
Marie: Let's go!
Vyrn: This is bad! I can hear those weird monsters jumping onto the outside of the ship! They're coming in!
Nicholas: Don't panic! We've come this far! Now it's time to bring out the big guns.
Nicholas pulls a lever on the wall, and an iron partition lowers, covering the entrance.
Nicholas: This partition should protect us and keep the monsters out. Then, if we shake the ship around a little, they'll fall off!
Monster: Bweeee!
Marie: Eek!
Like a thin piece of foil, the partition is shredded apart.
Monster: Bweeee!
Nicholas: Um... Hi there.
Nicholas: Run!
Lyria: Eek! Wait for me!
The crew retreat to the laboratory, unable to do anything in the face of the unstoppable monsters.
Monster: Bweeee!
Lyria: Oh no. What are we going to do?
Dr. Rashomon: Stop right there!
Monster: Grrrr...
Nicholas: Doctor!
Dr. Rashomon: Thanks for stalling them, Nicholas. It's time to bring out our secret weapon!
Dr. Rashomon: Gigantes, launch!
Gigantes: ...!
Marie: Wh-what in the sky is that?
Nicholas: It's got some smooth moves, don't you think?
Marie: Nicholas, you made this with my father without telling me?
Nicholas: Huh? I dunno, maybe...
Marie: Nicholas, you're hiding something.
Nicholas: Uh, well...
Marie: Hm? Come on, what is it?
Nicholas: Marie, you're getting a bit too close...
Just across the way, a battle between the strange monsters and the crimson machine begins.
Gigantes: ...!
Monster: Mywn!
The mass of steel rumbles as it raises a giant fist to smash the attacking monster.
It seems the monster will be unable to withstand the pulverizing blow from Gigantes.
Monster: Myr-wr...
But the monster barely reacts to the punch.
Dr. Rashomon: Impossible. Did it miss?
Dr. Rashomon: Hm, I see. It's using some kind of shield, though it doesn't seem to be magical.
Monster: Bweeee!
Dr. Rashomon: Whoa!
Dr. Rashomon: You'll have to do better than that to pierce Gigantes's armor!
Vyrn: Wow! That thing looks awesome in action, Doc! It's all red and shiny!
Dr. Rashomon: You have an eye for quality, Vyrn!
Dr. Rashomon: Gigantes's armor is red for a reason! It's because it's made of nearly impenetrable red steel!
Marie: Red steel?
Nicholas: Yep! And let me tell you, it was tough trying to shape metal that solid!
Marie: Nicholas! So you did know about this robot!
Nicholas: Ah, no, of course not... I've never seen it before in my life...
Marie: You're lying to me again! Fess up!
Nicholas: Ah, well, you see, what I wanted to do was, uh...
Marie: So this is where our budget's been going, huh?
Marie: Dad, just how much did all this red steel cost? Really!
Monster: P-p-p-pwee...
Nicholas: Uh-oh, more monsters! Let's leave them to the doctor and get out of here!

Robomi - Chapter 1: A Warrior Resurrected - Episode 3: Scene 2

As the crew head deeper into the ship, a monster attacks them. They're saved by Robomi, which reveals that it was created specifically to defeat these strange monsters. (Captain) and the crew return to town with Robomi to begin a counterattack.

Nicholas: We've ended up pretty deep inside the ship, haven't we?
Vyrn: Monsters could be lying in wait around any corner. Who knows where they're gonna pop out!
Vyrn: Wait a sec. Where are we anyway?
Lyria: Hm, I feel like we came through here when we were going to the laboratory where Robomi was.
Nicholas: Laboratory... Wait, what if something happened to Robomi?
Marie: Nicholas! Don't run off by yourself!
Fearful that Robomi and his research are in danger, Nicholas rushes to the lab.
Nicholas: Robomi! Are you all right?
Robomi: Yes. This unit is operating at full capacity, Nicholas.
Nicholas: Phew! I was worried.
Vyrn: Say, Mecha-Nick, what were those monsters anyway? (Captain) couldn't even hit them!
Vyrn: Even the doctor's secret weapon didn't seem to land a hit!
Nicholas: You're right, but unfortunately I have no idea what they are. It's outside my area of expertise.
Nicholas: Besides, are those things even monsters? They didn't look like living creatures to me.
Lyria: True. None of them felt like regular monsters at all.
Monster: Bwaaaa!
Marie: Eek!
Marie screams as a monster breaks into the lab.
It seems to ignore her, turning its attention toward Robomi who is standing silently in the corner.
Monster: Gushaaa!
Robomi: ...
Lyria: Robomi, look out!
Nicholas: Robomi!
Monster: Gushaaa!
Nicholas dives in front of Robomi to protect her as the monster slashes a blade-like claw in her direction.
There is a horrific sound, and everyone covers their eyes.
Monster: ...
The crew finds the monster defeated on the floor, and Robomi standing in front of Nicholas, fists smoking.
Robomi: Nicholas, how many abominations remain?
Nicholas: Y-you defeated it? And what's an abomination?
Robomi: Abomination. A type of life-form characterized by violent frenzy, similar to the one just defeated.
Nicholas: You wanna know how many? There are hundreds of them outside! They're destroying the town!
Robomi: Understood, Nicholas. Transitioning to Abomination Elimination Mode.
Vyrn: But how can you defeat those abominations? (Captain) couldn't even make a dent in them!
Robomi: Abominations are able to produce a shielding effect from localized repulsion zones. Standard weapons will not penetrate it.
Nicholas: I don't fully understand, but I think I get the gist of it. So how come you can defeat them?
Robomi: This unit is equipped with weapons that can bypass the abominations' shields.
Nicholas: So you're the only one that can defeat them, Robomi?
Robomi: Affirmative, Nicholas. This unit was created to fight against the abominations.
Nicholas: Hm...
Nicholas: There's more I want to know, but there's no time. Please help us defeat them, Robomi!
Robomi: Affirmative, Nicholas.
And so the crew—with their strength bolstered by Robomi—head back into town to face the abominations.

Robomi - Chapter 1: A Warrior Resurrected - Episode 4

Robomi explains that the monsters were known in ancient times as abominations, and that their shields are able to repel attacks. Since Robomi can bypass the shields, (Captain) and the crew will use Robomi to protect the town.

Vyrn: Whoa! Robomi is really strong!
Lyria: Amazing! She's defeating them left and right like it's nothing!
Nicholas: Robomi, didn't you say earlier that you were created to fight the abominations?
Nicholas: Does that mean these abominations also existed tens of thousands of years ago?
Robomi: That is correct, Nicholas.
Nicholas: I see. I'd like to know what's caused them to appear after all this time.
Nicholas: But first, we've got to try and fix this situation! Robomi's our only hope.
Nicholas: Robomi can destroy the abominations' shields, then we can help with the rest!
Nicholas: Robomi, attack the abominations but focus on their shields!
Robomi: Command accepted, Nicholas.

Robomi - Chapter 1: A Warrior Resurrected - Episode 4: Scene 2

(Captain) and crew battle against the abominations. Dr. Rashomon unleashes his secret weapon, the Gigantes, but it is all too soon felled by an abomination never before encountered. With Nicholas's permission, Robomi prepares to use her Hyper Megaton Kick to defeat it.

With Robomi on their side, the crew charge through the swarm of abominations.
Dr. Rashomon, alongside Gigantes, comes running into town to help with the fight.
Raccoobomination: Goshaaaa!
Dr. Rashomon: I-impossible!
Gigantes is obliterated by the abomination's laser blast. Fragments of red metal scatter across the ground.
Vyrn: This is crazy! The professor's secret weapon is gone!
Nicholas: No way! That armor was nearly impenetrable! What could have done that?
Dr. Rashomon: Nicholas! This one is different from the rest! Be careful!
Raccoobomination: Umnogeeh!
Nicholas: R-Robomi! Can you defeat that?
Robomi: Yes. I am capable of destroying that abomination, Nicholas.
Raccoobomination: Umomomongeh!
(Captain) and the crew narrowly avoid a laser beam from the abomination.
Nicholas: That was too close! How do we defeat it?
Robomi: Permission from the central command required to deploy needed weaponry.
Nicholas: Central command? What're you talking about?
Robomi: The laboratory where I was assembled, Nicholas. To disengage my limiters, I will now establish contact with—
Nicholas: You gotta be kidding me! There's no way a ten thousand-year-old lab is still there!
Nicholas: And we don't have the time to wait! If it's permission you need, I give you permission. So go, Robomi!
Robomi: Emergency protocols activated. Nicholas, you have been designated as this unit's acting commander.
Robomi: You are now in control of this unit's security protocols.
Robomi: Awaiting authorization to use the Hyper Megaton Kick.
Nicholas: Can you defeat it with that? Then use it, Robomi!
Robomi: Affirmative, Nicholas.

Robomi - Chapter 1: A Warrior Resurrected - Episode 4: Scene 3

The battle against the abominations is over, and the town is safe once again. (Captain) and the crew are in awe of Robomi's power, yet unaware of a larger conflict yet to come.

Raccoobomination: Obobobo!
Nicholas: All right! Time to finish this! Go, Robomi!
Robomi: Anti-repulsion field charging. Thrusters focused at full power. Preparing to fire.
Nicholas: Now! Hyper Megaton Kick!
Nicholas: She did it.
Vyrn: Whoa! She defeated that massive abomination.
Robomi: Energy depleted. Entering sleep mode.
Nicholas: H-hey! Robomi!
Nicholas: She's... asleep...
Nicholas and the crew stand in front of the sleeping Robomi. People come running over to them from the research vessel.
Marie: Nicholas! Are you all right? Thank goodness!
Nicholas: Oh, Marie! We're all fine, thanks to Robomi.
Marie: Phew! I was so worried.
Dr. Rashomon: Amazing. She defeated the monster that destroyed my Gigantes with a single blow! Just how powerful is Robomi?
Nicholas: Who knows? All I know is that if she wasn't here, we'd all be goners.
Dr. Rashomon: Who could have thought that such power had been buried underground all this time.
Nicholas: I'm just glad she's on our side.
Dr. Rashomon: Nicholas, be careful with Robomi. There's still much we don't yet know.
Dr. Rashomon: If something were to go wrong with her, who knows what might happen.
Nicholas: You're right. I don't even want to think about what would happen if that power fell into the wrong hands.
Robomi has quelled the chaos brought about by the sudden appearance of the abominations.
On the day she was excavated from deep underground, she saves the town and becomes its hero.
But unbeknownst to the crew, this is only the beginning.
The beginning of a conflict that will span across the entire skydom.

Robomi - Chapter 2: Team Dr. Rashomon! - Episode 1

Abominations have been sighted on multiple islands, leaving Robomi in great demand. The research vessel receives a distress call from a nearby island, and Robomi is prepared for launch.

Ten days have passed since Robomi was awakened. In that time, incidents of abomination attacks have become increasingly frequent.
Robomi is the only one capable of fighting the fearsome abominations, which are unaffected by blades or magic.
To analyze the strange beasts, Dr. Rashomon and his team conduct experiments aboard the research vessel night and day.
Nicholas: All right, shall we begin?
Dr. Rashomon: Very well. Nicholas, could you please present your findings?
Nicholas: Of course, Doctor. Robomi seems to be using technology that we are unfamiliar with.
Nicholas: But we can understand her construction a little better now that we've dismantled and reassembled her.
Nicholas: We still aren't sure what most of the parts do, but there are two sections that contain particularly amazing technology.
Dr. Rashomon: You're referring to the main control circuit and the repulsion field emission device, correct?
Nicholas: Yes. As for the control circuit, you can see a glass case full of a cloudy solution inside Robomi's head.
Nicholas: Robomi says that this fluid acts as her brain.
Nicholas: We don't know how exactly this control circuit works, but it seems to use a process akin to alchemy.
Dr. Rashomon: Hm, we should call up an alchemical expert to look into that. What's the other section?
Nicholas: The repulsion field is one of Robomi's weapons. It can fire small metal bullets like an ordinary gun.
Nicholas: But where this device differs is in Robomi's ability to modify the bullets so they can pierce abominations' shields.
Dr. Rashomon: But we still don't know how it does that.
Nicholas: And she also has a weapon that's able to navigate through the air on its own to reach its target.
Nicholas: Well, at least we can replicate the bullets to replace what ammunition she's used.
Dr. Rashomon: Hm, though it is frustrating that Robomi has to be there for us to be able to defeat the abominations.
Nicholas: Yeah. We've been fighting them non-stop lately.
The two of them continue to worry about the lack of progress in their research, but they are interrupted by Marie.
Marie: And that's the gist of it. At least it's keeping us out of the red.
Nicholas: Well, Marie, you say they're paying us to get rid of the abominations, but don't you think the work we did was worth a little more than this?
Marie: Oh, do you now? Because I for one am grateful for any financial aid we can get.
Marie: Unlike some people who insist on wasting our valuable research money building weird robots!
Both: Gulp.
Marie: We have to make up for the cost of all the red steel you got like it was nothing.
Nicholas: Ahaha... Y-you're right, Marie. S-sorry I said anything.
Dr. Rashomon: Huh! What was that?
The ship's alarm sounds, and Dr. Rashomon grabs the voicepipe from the wall to ask what is happening.
Vyrn's Voice: Doc! An airship's come from a nearby island! They need help!
Vyrn's Voice: Sounds like there are abominations rampaging on another island!
Dr. Rashomon: Roger that, Vyrn! Nicholas, prepare to launch Robomi!
Nicholas: Yes sir!

Robomi - Chapter 2: Team Dr. Rashomon! - Episode 2

The crew head to an island under attack and find some ruffians who've yet to evacuate. However, Robomi arrives in time to fend off the abominations.

Dr. Rashomon: Preparations complete! Open the launch bay doors!
Robomi's ready to fly.
There is a pool of water on board the research vessel. It's used to absorb the dust from cutting rocks and to cool the machinery.
Robomi's hangar is at the bottom of the pool. In an emergency, she can launch straight out and into the sky.
Robomi: Nicholas, awaiting orders.
Nicholas: Robomi, abominations have appeared on the nearby island. Draw their attention! We'll be right behind you.
Robomi: Understood, Nicholas.
The air is filled with the roar of jet engines as Robomi blasts off to combat the abominations.
Skyfarer: I heard that thing was fast, but I didn't think it would be that fast!
Nicholas: Heh, heh. We don't know how she does it either, but it's awesome, isn't it?
Lyria: Have all the citizens been evacuated?
Skyfarer: Yes, they're fine.
Skyfarer: We have several shelter sites to keep them safe.
Skyfarer: We know you're the only ones who can defeat the abominations. We don't want to risk anyone getting hurt.
Dr. Rashomon: And neither do we.
Vyrn: Hey, we don't have time to be sighing and relaxing! Let's get to the island pronto!
Nicholas: All right! (Captain), I'm sorry to keep dragging you into this fight.
Vyrn: It's no problem, Mecha-Nick! You've gotta finish what you start!
Dr. Rashomon: We'd be lost without your help, (Captain). We just don't have the numbers to combat them.
Vyrn: Heh, (Captain) will take care of them without breaking a sweat!
Dr. Rashomon: Hahaha! Thank you, Vyrn! All right, let's get moving! Full speed ahead!
Floater Abomination: Abababababa!
Ruffian 1: What gives! No matter how much I shoot, they don't fall down!
Ruffian 2: You think I haven't noticed, ya doofus? We gotta get these guys off our turf, and fast!
Ruffian 1: Heh, you talk tough, but we're done for if these things surround us!
Ruffian 2: Bah! As if I'm gonna run away before you! That'd make me a coward!
Ruffian 1: Hahaha! It must be tough for you, being so lame! You'll always be in my shadow!
Gorger Abomination: Gshaaaaa!
Ruffian 1: Eek!
At that moment, a laser beam comes down from the sky to intercept the monster's attack. Robomi has arrived.
Gorger Abomination: Grrr...
Robomi: Established visual contact with enemy abomination. Commencing attack.
Gorger Abomination: Gshaaaaa!
Robomi: Counterattack imminent. Beginning evasive measures.
Nicholas: We've caught up with her now! Let's help her!
Nicholas: Huh?
Ruffian 1: Oh no, there's more of 'em! Let's make like a tree and... get out of here!
Ruffian 2: Yikes!
Vyrn: Hey, I thought they said the citizens were all evacuated!
Nicholas: Curses! Let's take care of the abominations before someone gets hurt!

Robomi - Chapter 2: Team Dr. Rashomon! - Episode 3

The abominations have been defeated for now, but the crew realizes that the rest of the monsters have pursued the two citizens from earlier. Robomi launches off in search of the remaining abominations without waiting for an order from Nicholas.

Robomi: Abomination extermination complete.
Nicholas: Robomi, are there any more abominations in the area?
Robomi: I am reading no enemy presence in this zone, Nicholas.
Vyrn: Phew! Looks like we took care of all of them!
Lyria: Now the townspeople will be safe!
Nicholas: Hm...
Lyria: Nicholas? What's wrong?
Nicholas: I was thinking that it seemed a bit too easy to fight off all these abominations.
Vyrn: Yeah, I felt like there weren't as many abominations as usual too!
Lyria: Hm... And what happened to those men who were fighting the abominations earlier?
Nicholas: They must have gotten away.
Nicholas: Wait! But where would they have run to?
Lyria: A shelter... Maybe?
Vyrn: Uh oh. What if some of the abominations followed them as they ran away?
Lyria: Oh no! If the abominations get to a shelter, everyone will be in danger!
Vyrn: That'd be awful! Mecha-Nick, what do we do?
Nicholas: Robomi, quick! Search for the nearest—
Robomi: Searching for the nearest shelter to this location.
Nicholas: Whoa!
Vyrn: Wow. She flew off before you even finished telling her what to do.
Nicholas: She knew what I was going to ask before I had even said it! That's unbelievable.
Vyrn: Look! And now she's flying away!
Nicholas: She's found one of the shelters! It must be under attack from the abominations! Let's get moving and help her!

Robomi - Chapter 2: Team Dr. Rashomon! - Episode 4

Robomi arrives at the shelter, which is already under attack from the abominations. Sensing the danger, Nicholas orders Robomi to use her Hyper Megaton Kick.

Floater Abomination: Obaaaaaaa!
Robomi arrives at the shelter in the nick of time and engages the swarm of abominations in the area.
Nicholas and company arrive soon after.
Raccoobomination: Uboaaa!
Vyrn: Uh-oh! Another one of those pesky raccoon-things!
Nicholas: Whoa!
Robomi mows down the small abominations just as fast as they appear.
Raccoobomination: Gegohgoh!
Nicholas: Great! We've got its attention!
Nicholas: Robomi! Fire your booster! Prepare the Hyper Megaton Kick!
Robomi: Understood, Nicholas.

Robomi - Chapter 2: Team Dr. Rashomon! - Episode 4: Scene 2

After defeating the rampaging abominations, the crew returns to the research vessel. Nicholas is concerned about Robomi, who appears to be acting of her own free will rather than responding to orders.

Nicholas: Now! Give 'em your Hyper Megaton Kick!
Robomi: Understood, Nicholas.
Robomi's engines roar and the air around her shimmers as she lifts off.
She uses her earth-shattering kick to slam into the abomination and destroy it in one blow.
Vyrn: Sheesh. Thanks to those ruffians, this cleanup became a huge hassle!
Lyria: Yeah. That was tough!
Nicholas: It wasn't so bad.
A crowd forms as the people try to catch a glimpse of Robomi. Nicholas beams proudly.
Nicholas: Seeing people happy like that... That's the real reason I do this job.
Lyria: You should become a skyfarer, Nicholas!
Vyrn: Yeah! She's right! We help people all the time on the missions that we get from Siero!
Nicholas: Hm, I'm afraid my calling is working as an engineer. I want to build machines to help people.
Vyrn: Too bad. I thought you'd make a good pal for Rackam!
Nicholas: I'll let you know if I change my mind!
Nicholas: Anyway, we're heading back now, Robomi! You need some repairs back at the research vessel!
Robomi: Understood, Nicholas. Returning to base.
Having successfully defended the island from the abominations, the crew heads back.
Nicholas: Hm...
Back at the research vessel, Nicholas is writing up a report of the day's events. It's then that Dr. Rashomon notices the young man's unease.
Dr. Rashomon: Something seems to be bothering you, Nicholas.
Nicholas: Hey, Doc. It's just Robomi. She seems different recently.
Dr. Rashomon: Has she been damaged?
Nicholas: No, it's more like her way of speaking has changed.
Dr. Rashomon: Hm?
Nicholas: She'd usually respond with "affirmative", but lately she's been saying "understood" instead.
Dr. Rashomon: Hmm, could it be that she's becoming friendly with you?
Nicholas: Doc, don't be ridiculous.
Nicholas: Robomi is a machina soldier! That's why I'm concerned about this change in her way of speaking.
Dr. Rashomon: I see. Is there anything else you're worried about?
Nicholas: Well, there were several times earlier when she acted without waiting for my orders.
Dr. Rashomon: You think that she has mastered language and is now judging situations? It sounds very advanced for a machina soldier.
Nicholas: Hm, it does seem very strange.
Dr. Rashomon: Nicholas, I'd like you to note down any and all changes in Robomi's behavior since we woke her.
Dr. Rashomon: It may be that we picked up something even more incredible than we thought down in that mine.
Nicholas: Of course. I won't miss anything. I'm an engineer, after all.
Nicholas is unable to hide his surprise at these unexpected changes to Robomi so soon after she has been excavated.
The young engineer is deeply curious about the mysterious robot. What secrets could it be holding?

Robomi - Chapter 3: Nicholas Stands Tall - Episode 1

(Captain) and the crew go into town to get food and equipment, but they soon run into an abomination in one of the shops.

The crew touches down on an island to pick up some materials that Nicholas had ordered from his merchant friend.
When they go to town, they think it best to leave Robomi on the research vessel to avoid drawing too much attention.
Lyria: Now that you mention it, the people on board the research vessel do have quite strange names!
Vyrn: Right? I mean, Rashomon sounds like an exotic fruit!
Nicholas: Well, our ancestors came from a skydom a long way away from here.
Nicholas: I suppose a little bit of their customs and culture are still around in the form of our names.
Lyria: A faraway skydom, huh? The sky sure is huge.
Vyrn: It must be. Even without crossing the Grim Basin, Phantagrande is plenty big on its own!
The crew continue chatting as they shop, picking up the supplies along the way.
Nicholas: All right, that's all of the parts for Robomi's spare set of armor. Let's see... What's next?
Nicholas: We need some oil. Let's go check that shop over there.
Lyria: Oh, Marie asked me to make sure we get all the ingredients for dinner tonight!
Nicholas: Ah. Of course, the food. Let's head to the market first then.
After finishing their shopping in the market, the crew head to the shop run by Nicholas's acquaintance.
Nicholas: Excuse me? Is anyone in? That's weird...
Vyrn: Maybe they just stepped out? The shop is all dark.
Nicholas: This shop is open all year round. And there's no sign saying they're closed or anything.
Shop Owner?: ...
Nicholas: Ah, there you are! Got that lubricant I asked for?
Shop Owner?: ...
Nicholas: Hey, are you all right? You're normally a bit more talkative.
Shop Owner?: ...
Nicholas: Hey, you look a lot thinner than you used to...
Vyrn: C'mon, let's turn the light on so we can actually see what's going on... There we go!
Gorger Abomination: ...
Nicholas: ...
Gorger Abomination: Ushlululu!
Nicholas: Whoa! Why's there an abomination here?
Vyrn: Who cares why? We need to get out of here! Fast!

Robomi - Chapter 3: Nicholas Stands Tall - Episode 2

Having barely escaped the abominations, Nicholas fires off an emergency flare to signal the research vessel. Dr. Rashomon sees it and rushes to launch Robomi to help the crew.

Abominations: Groaaar!
(Captain) and the crew burst out of the shop, but the town is already overrun by abominations.
Surprised by the sudden appearance of the abominations, and without Robomi, they begin to panic.
Vyrn: Holy... This is bad!
Lyria: Oh no! What should we do? We need to go and get Robomi!
Nicholas: I brought some flares just in case this happened!
Nicholas fires two flares into the air, leaving a trail of purple and yellow smoke.
Researcher: Hey, that's the emergency flare! It must be Nicholas.
Dr. Rashomon: What? Abominations! Quick, Robomi! Prepare to launch!
Dr. Rashomon: Aim for the area where the flare was fired. We need to eliminate the abominations and secure Nicholas and the crew!
Robomi: Affirmative.
Robomi: Weapons and armor fully operational. Preparing for launch.

Robomi - Chapter 3: Nicholas Stands Tall - Episode 3

The crew must come up with a plan to defend the town until Robomi arrives. Nicholas creates a fake Robomi to attract the attention of the abominations and allow the people to run away.

The crew manages to evade the abominations for the time being. In the distance, they see the flash of Robomi launching from the ship.
Nicholas: Right, it won't be long before Robomi gets here.
Vyrn: So should we go and hide somewhere safe?
Nicholas: No! We can't just leave the town at the mercy of the abominations!
Lyria: But if Robomi's not here, there's nothing we can do against the abominations!
Nicholas: True. But we've got to do something! Engineers never give up!
Vyrn: Hm, what can we do though?
Lyria: Um, how about using the food that we bought as bait?
Nicholas: Food? We've got bread, vegetables, meat...
Vyrn: Do abominations even eat that stuff?
Nicholas: That's it!
Vyrn: Huh? What do you mean, Mecha-Nick?
Nicholas: You're right on the money, Lyria!
Nicholas heads straight for the food they'd purchased.
He quickly rummages through the bags as his plan begins to come together.
Nicholas: Lyria! Do me a favor! Pour the milk onto the bread we bought!
Lyria: Huh?
Vyrn: What in the world are you thinking?
Lyria: W-well, do you want it to be warm or cold?
Nicholas: Either way is fine! Just make sure it's good and damp!
Nicholas: (Captain)! Vyrn! Help me with this!
In a hurry to defend the town from the abominations, the crew follows Nicholas's orders.
Before long, Nicholas's plan becomes clear.
Nicholas: Finished!
Vyrn: Is that what I think it is?
Nicholas: Haha! It's a fake Robomi I made out of what we had!
Vyrn: Can't believe how fast you put that together! You're amazing, Mecha-Nick!
Nicholas: Well, we did pick up all those parts for her armor! I just added the paste that we made out of the bread and milk!
Lyria: So what are we going to do with this fake Robomi?
Nicholas: Well, first we'll have to find an abomination.
They mount the fake Robomi onto a cart and charge into the chaotic town.
Fake Robomi: ...
Gorger Abomination: Grrr? Groaaar!
Nicholas: All right! It's taken the bait! Everybody run!
Lyria: Wait for me!
Lyria: Nicholas, what are we going to do now?
Nicholas: If my theory is correct, the abominations will always go for Robomi above all other targets. We saw that before, remember?
Vyrn: Oh yeah! When they were attacking the ship, they avoided us once she was awake!
Nicholas: I don't know why, but I think that if one of the abominations sees Robomi, they'll all head to that location.
Vyrn: Wait, what? Then that means...
Abominations: Groaaar!
Vyrn: Eek! There is a ton of them now!
Nicholas: Right, now they're not attacking the townspeople. Let's run!
Vyrn: But now we're in danger! You coulda warned us!

Robomi - Chapter 3: Nicholas Stands Tall - Episode 3: Scene 2

The fake Robomi succeeds in grabbing the attention of the abominations, but (Captain) and the crew end up on a dead-end street. Luckily, Robomi arrives to save the day.

Abominations: Groaaar!
Vyrn: Hey, I know the plan was to get the attention of all the monsters.
Vyrn: But now we can't get away! There're too many of 'em.
Nicholas: Hold on a little longer, Vyrn! Robomi's coming. Let's turn at this next corner!
When they do take the turn, however, they find it's a dead end.
Lyria: Uh-oh. There's nowhere to go!
Nicholas: Oh boy, this doesn't look good.
Abominations: Groaaar!
Nicholas: Ah, why hello there! Nice weather we're having.
The pack of abominations close in on the crew.
Abominations: Grrr!
Nicholas: Uh-oh!
The air echoes with the howls of countless abominations. But then another noise cuts through.
Lyria: Look! She's here!
Robomi: Awaiting orders, Nicholas!
Nicholas: Robomi!
Lyria: Yay, Robomi!
Vyrn: That was close. Thanks, Robomi!
Robomi: I can confirm approximately one hundred targets on this island. Please identify priority targets.
Nicholas: Around a hundred? Less than I expected! Ah well, this'll be easy!
Vyrn: Look at him... Sings a whole different tune the moment Robomi appears.
Nicholas: I heard that, Vyrn. Anyway, let's start the counterattack!
Vyrn: Yeah! We're done running!
Lyria: Yes! Let's go!
Nicholas: Robomi! Target their shields first!
Robomi: Understood, Nicholas. Beginning extermination.

Robomi - Chapter 3: Nicholas Stands Tall - Episode 4

Joined by Robomi, the crew fights back against the abominations. But Robomi senses a giant abomination appearing in the town square that's bigger than any they have come across before.

Robomi and Nicholas are able to thin the numbers of the rampaging abominations.
But as the crew defeats them, a bigger threat stirs.
Robomi: Warning. A large abomination has appeared in the town square.
Nicholas: What?
Giant Abomination: Grrroaaar!
Nicholas: Whoa, what in world is that thing?
Vyrn: It's huge! It's even bigger than Doc's secret weapon!
Robomi: Awaiting orders, Nicholas.
Nicholas: Robomi, can you defeat that? We've never come up against something that big before.
Robomi: Success is highly probable. Please confirm attack order.
Nicholas: Go! Charge, Robomi!
Robomi: Understood, Nicholas.

Robomi - Chapter 4: Robotic Whims - Episode 1

Nicholas removes a defective part from Robomi's head, which forces Robomi to acclimate to a new configuration. Nicholas is curious about Robomi's self-adaptability, but others are fearful.

Having survived the battle, the crew returns to the Rashomon Research Vessel.
As always, Nicholas goes to the workshop to perform maintenance on Robomi.
Nicholas: You did well today, Robomi. Thanks for your help.
Marie: Really! What would've happened if Robomi hadn't made it there in time?
Nicholas: I guess you just don't understand the bond between an engineer and their robot!
Marie: Pfft... Bond, shmond...
Robomi: Nicholas, report ready.
Nicholas: What's up, Robomi?
Robomi: One of my control modules has become damaged and is unstable.
Robomi: This could affect battle performance. Recommended action: remove the affected part from this unit.
Nicholas: Hm, would there be any adverse effects if I were to remove it?
Robomi: It may take some time before my control circuit acclimates to the new configuration.
Marie: Acclimate?
Robomi: Until acclimation is complete, this unit may suffer from reduced battle performance.
Nicholas: I see. Either way, we get a negative effect. Guess we'll go for the lesser of two evils.
Nicholas: Let's take the damaged part off you. Show me how to open your head up, Robomi.
Robomi: Understood.
Helped by Robomi, Nicholas opens her head and removes the damaged part.
Nicholas: There we go! How's that?
Robomi: ...
Robomi: Primary optimization complete.
Nicholas: Phew, it worked. Well, that's the last of the repairs!
Robomi: Thank you, Nicholas.
Nicholas: Huh? Oh, you're welcome. It's my job, after all.
Nicholas: She thanked me...
Nicholas: Y'know, Marie, I've been getting the feeling that Robomi's way of speaking is becoming more-how should I say this... friendly?
Nicholas: But I never expected her to actually thank me. Surprising, isn't it?
Marie: Robomi did mention something about acclimation earlier, didn't she?
Marie: It's one thing for her to change her way of speaking, but to adapt to a new configuration after losing one of her parts?
Nicholas: Right! This ancient technology is amazing!
Marie: But at the end of the day, Robomi is a machine, right? How can a machine just make changes to itself like that?
Nicholas: There's got to be some kind of mechanism to it. Maybe we'll work it out during our next round of research.
Nicholas: And then maybe we'll be able to construct a robot that thinks for itself. How exciting!
Marie: I'm sure you can do it, Nicholas. But I'm a little scared, to be honest.
Nicholas: Huh? Scared?
Robomi is changing after spending time with Nicholas.
He is filled with boundless curiosity, but others are unsure about the implication of the technology.
Robomi fights monsters with strange and unknown weaponry. Who knows what will happen as she continues to change?

Robomi - Chapter 4: Robotic Whims - Episode 2

While Nicholas is in the middle of testing Robomi's learning ability, the research vessel receives reports of abominations attacking. Nicholas prepares Robomi for launch.

It's late in the afternoon and Marie is worried about Nicholas, who hasn't come to lunch.
She finds him in the lab chatting excitedly with Robomi.
Nicholas: All right, let's play a little game to find out what you've learned about life up until now!
Robomi: Understood.
Nicholas: "Oohhhh, I love food! Look at my blue hair!"
Nicholas: Who was I imitating there?
Robomi: Lyria.
Nicholas: Good. Let's try a slightly harder one.
Nicholas: "I ain't no lizard!"
Robomi: Vyrn.
Marie: Nicholas? What are you doing?
Nicholas: Hm? Oh, Marie. I'm just testing Robomi's learning ability.
Marie: Just the two of you? All day?
Marie: Nicholas, you're acting strange lately. Why are you so obsessed with testing Robomi?
Nicholas: All day? Wait, it's already the afternoon?
Nicholas: Now I know why I'm so hungry! I really lost track of time there.
Marie: Indeed. You seem to be having lots of fun. Lots of fun with her. Just the two of you...
Nicholas: But isn't it amazing? No normal machina soldier could identify human behavior as complex as impressions of other humans!
Nicholas: Robomi? Who am I now?
"Launch the Gigantes!"
Robomi: Dr. Rashomon
Nicholas: Ahaha! Great job, Robomi!
Marie: I've never seen you smile like that before, Nicholas.
Nicholas: Huh? You wanna give it a try too?
Marie: I'm fine. I'm no good at impressions anyway.
Nicholas: Oh, all right. I just thought it would help Robomi to learn more.
Nicholas: If she learned all this passively, then just imagine what we could teach her for future battles!
Marie: Really... You're the one who needs to learn more, Nicholas.
Nicholas: Huh, what do you mean, Marie?
Marie: Humph! Nothing.
Suddenly, an alarm sounds off.
Dr. Rashomon: Nicholas! We're getting reports of abominations! Prepare to launch Robomi!
Nicholas: Roger that, Doctor! Let's go, Robomi!
Robomi: Weapons ready.
Nicholas: All right, let's go!
Robomi: Understood.

Robomi - Chapter 4: Robotic Whims - Episode 2: Scene 2

Robomi's movements are sluggish as she fights the abominations in the town. It seems that her performance has been reduced while she adapts to her new configuration.

Abomination: Zbzaaaa!
Robomi: Abomination approaching.
Nicholas: You're on a collision course, Robomi! Protect yourself!
Robomi: Strong attack detected from abomination's torso. Damage avoided.
Robomi: Beginning counterattack.
Nicholas: What's going on Robomi? Why are you moving so slowly?
Robomi: Acclimation to new configuration incomplete. Battle performance has been reduced.
Nicholas: Oh, you did say that your main control circuit would have to compensate for the missing part.
Nicholas: Hm, can you still fight, Robomi?
Robomi: No problem. I was constructed for the purpose of fighting.
Nicholas: Luckily no giant abominations have appeared this time! Let's hope it stays that way!
Nicholas: We'll support you as best we can! We're counting on you, Robomi!

Robomi - Chapter 4: Robotic Whims - Episode 3

Having restored peace to the land, Nicholas invites Robomi to have a look around the shops in town. Robomi shows interest in a certain hair clip, which Nicholas then buys for her. The young mechanic wonders what other interests Robomi might have, but his thoughts are interrupted when abominations mount another assault on the town.

The abominations on the island have been defeated by Robomi and the crew.
Citizens emerge from the shelter and return to their daily lives. Soon the town is back to its usual hustle and bustle.
Vyrn: Phew. That abomination fight was a tough one.
Lyria: Well done, everyone!
Knight: Thank you! We heard the rumors, but that Robomi is amazing!
Nicholas: You got that right! And she's not even operating at full power.
Child: You're a poopyhead! I hate Robomi!
Robomi: ...
Vyrn: Huh? What's up, kid?
Child: Humph! Even if you weren't here, my daddy could've beat up all those monsters! He's a town guard!
Knight: Hey, you shouldn't speak to Robomi like that. She saved the town, you know.
Child: Shut up! You're ruining everything! My daddy's running out of work because of you! Poopyhead!
The child throws a stone at Robomi and runs away.
Robomi: ...
Robomi is still as she watches the child run away.
Vyrn: Hey, Robomi. Even though that kid threw a stone at you, they're not an enemy. All right?
Robomi: Damage to the upper-arm area identified. However, analysis predicts it will not affect future growth and development.
Nicholas: Damage? Oh, you mean the kid? Yeah, he had a bandage on his arm, didn't he?
Nicholas: Are you worried about him? Well, it's weird to say that you'd be worried, I guess.
Knight: The fact that he is still around to get angry and throw stones is all thanks to Robomi. I'm sorry, everyone.
Nicholas: No sweat. We won't let it faze us! Don't worry about it.
Robomi: ...
Nicholas: All right! Now that the abominations have been taken care of, it's time for us to say goodbye to this place!
Robomi: Understood. Returning to base.
Nicholas: Ah, wait! Robomi! Don't go yet!
Robomi: Awaiting orders, Nicholas.
Nicholas: Uh, well...
Lyria: Nicholas? What's wrong?
Nicholas: Well, I'm thinking how I should phrase this as a command...
Nicholas: Ah, I know! Robomi, come shopping with us!
Robomi: This unit is designed for combat. It is not optimized for "shopping."
Nicholas: C'mon, don't be like that!
Vyrn: Huh, that's new. Don't you normally send her straight back to the research vessel?
Nicholas: I just wanted to show her the town a little bit.
Nicholas: She needs a break, right? If not, her performance could get worse on account of the missing part.
Nicholas: Luckily, it seems that abominations always leave islands alone for at least a day after they attack, so we've got time!
Lyria: That's great to hear! Then I agree! We should take Robomi with us.
Vyrn: Hm, well let's just hope that the doctor doesn't get angry at us.
Nicholas: All right, Robomi, if you see anything you'd like, just tell me!
Robomi: Understood.
Vyrn: Huh? You're buying gifts? In that case, I'll have an apple!
Lyria: Don't forget me! I'd like some clothes, please!
Nicholas: W-wait, wait! This is an experiment on Robomi's reactions!
Vyrn and Lyria: ...
Nicholas: Oh, don't give me those puppy-dog eyes... Fine! But only one thing each!
Lyria: Woo-hoo!
Nicholas: (Oh boy... My savings are going out the window!)
Nicholas: Any shops you want to visit, Robomi?
Robomi: This question lacks selection parameters.
Nicholas: Oh, all right. Well, let's just wander around then!
The crew is in town for some window shopping after defeating the abominations.
Robomi: Ah...
Nicholas: Robomi? You want to look at that clothing shop?
Robomi: This unit has an irregular structure. It is not optimized for wearing clothes.
Robomi starts walking again, but it's not long before something else catches her eye.
Nicholas: Ah, accessories? So these are the kinds of things you like?
Vyrn: Hm, I'm not so sure. I think she just happened to be looking at it, to be honest!
Nicholas: Oh, you think so? We'll have to run the experiment again in another town.
Robomi: ...
Nicholas: Well, we've learned a lot by just bringing her out into the open.
Nicholas: I'm starting to find out a little bit about what makes Robomi tick!
Robomi: I was constructed to fight the abominations.
Nicholas: Huh? Well, yes, you do have the weapons to fight them.
Nicholas: But looking at you now, I can't believe that fighting could be the only thing you can do.
Robomi: ...
Lyria: Ooh!
Nicholas: What's up, Lyria?
Lyria: I just thought that hair clip was really cute.
Nicholas: Ah, gotcha! I'll go and get it for you.
Lyria: Oh! No, you don't have to buy it for me. I'll just use my pocket money.
Nicholas: No, I insist. This is my thanks for coming with us.
Nicholas: Oh, and there's one more thing I wanted to test actually.
Nicholas comes out of the shop. Robomi looks with interest at Lyria, who is wearing the new barrette in her long blue hair.
Lyria: Thank you, Nicholas!
Robomi: ...
Nicholas: Right, let's go and find you an apple, Vyrn!
Abomination's Cry: Amoooon!
A screech suddenly echoes through the town.
Robomi: ...!
Nicholas: What? Abominations?
Vyrn: No way! Mecha-Nick, you said earlier that they appear and then go away for at least a day!
Nicholas: Strange... They've broken the pattern.
Nicholas: Anyway! We need to get the townspeople to the shelters ASAP!
Nicholas: Robomi! We need to get back to the ship so you can refill your ammunition!
Nicholas: Huh? Robomi? Where did you go, Robomi?
Nicholas: Over there! She's gone off again without waiting for my orders. This time to fight!
Vyrn: Quick, we've gotta chase after her!
Nicholas: This is bad. Robomi doesn't have much ammunition left!

Robomi - Chapter 4: Robotic Whims - Episode 3: Scene 2

Robomi acts on her own to protect a child and mother from the abominations. When she refuses orders to return to resupply, Nicholas signals the research vessel to come to them instead.

The abominations are on a rampage, and townspeople can do nothing but flee in terror.
Abomination: Moshaaa!
Mother: My house!
Child: You dumb poopyface! Get away from my house!
The child throws a stone which hits the abomination.
Abomination 1: Grmmrm...
Child: Eek!
Mother: Stop that! We need to run!
Grabbing the child's hand, the mother tries to run away.
Abomination 2: Grmmroar!
But the advancing abominations block their path.
Mother: No!
Child: Mommy! I'm scared!
Abominations: Obaaa!
Robomi: ...
Mother: Y-you're...
Robomi: I am here to ensure your safety. Please hide yourselves over there.
Robomi unleashes a barrage of missiles on the abominations, engulfing them in flame.
Nicholas: Over there! It's Robomi!
Vyrn: I've never seen her attack so relentlessly before!
Nicholas: Curses! She's gonna run out of ammo if she keeps this up.
Nicholas and the crew run after Robomi as the abominations fall one by one.
Robomi: Please hide yourselves to avoid discovery by abominations.
Child: Wh-what do you think you're doing?
Robomi: Please retreat. Continuing battle.
Child: Humph! My dad's stronger than you! And don't you forget it!
Robomi: Stay safe.
Robomi watches the mother and child as they run away. Around her abominations are gradually assembling.
Abomination: Ogogogogo!
Robomi: Ammunition, zero. Switching to hand-to-hand combat mode.
Nicholas: Robomi! What are you doing? Why did you fly off without waiting for orders? Get back to the ship and get more ammunition!
Robomi: Command to return refused.
Nicholas: What? But you won't stand a chance without ammunition!
Robomi: Command to return refused.
Nicholas: Huh? What's happened to you?
Vyrn: Really? A rebellious phase? Right now?
Nicholas: Is it because of the maintenance? Good grief, we don't have time for this!
Nicholas: Here's the plan. If she won't come back to the ship, I'll just bring the ship to her!
Nicholas fires a flare to signal the research vessel to fly overhead.
Nicholas: She can't fight the bigger abominations without ammo. I only hope we can refill her before one appears.
Small Abominations: Ongouu!

Robomi - Chapter 4: Robotic Whims - Episode 4

(Captain) and the crew are cornered by the abominations. The research vessel finally appears with the ammo Robomi needs to finish the fight.

Abomination: Groaaar!
Nicholas: Robomi! Punch it!
Robomi: Understood.
Nicholas: Blast... It's an uphill battle without taking down the abomination shields.
Nicholas: Even if we tried to run away, Robomi won't obey orders to leave. This is looking real bad.
Vyrn: Mecha-Nick! Is the doctor here yet?
Nicholas: Soon! Just a little longer!
The crew, relying on Robomi's hand-to-hand abilities, starts to panic.
They are exhausted and surrounded by abominations. But hope is not lost.
Lyria: Ah! I can see the ship!
Nicholas: It's here! Just in time! Robomi, now we can finish this fight!
Robomi: Understood. No problems detected.
Nicholas: All right! Let's do this! Refill your ammo and attack!

Robomi - Chapter 4: Robotic Whims - Episode 4: Scene 2

As the crew nears the research vessel, a colossal abomination emerges from the earth. Dr. Rashomon uses his rebuilt Gigantes to get the bullets to Robomi.

Nicholas: Just a little further! When we get right under the research vessel, I'll fire the signal flare!
Vyrn: Whoa, what's going on? The island's shaking!
The crew is running for the research vessel as it flies in, but suddenly the ground of the island begins to shake and groan.
The groaning becomes louder and louder.
Giant Abomination: Goshaaa!
A colossal abomination emerges from the earth beneath them, blocking the path between (Captain)'s crew and the research vessel.
Nicholas: Whoa! It's massive!
Nicholas: Uh-oh. How are we gonna get around that to get to the ship?
Vyrn: This is looking dicey. The doctor won't be able to get around it either!
Lyria: Nicholas! The abominations behind us have nearly caught up!
Nicholas: We don't have time to take a detour. It's down to the wire.
Robomi: Re-engaging hand-to-hand combat mode. Attacking abomination targets.
Dr. Rashomon: Don't give up, Nicholas! I have a plan!
Nicholas: Doctor?
Dr. Rashomon: I'm delivering the ammunition now! Make sure you pick them up!
Gigantes: ...!
Lyria: Hey, isn't that Gigantes?
Dr. Rashomon: The one and only! Gigantes MK2, launch!
Gigantes MK2: ...!
Abomination: Gushaa!
Nicholas: Huh? It's gone!
Gigantes MK2: ...!
Nicholas watches as Gigantes flies toward them at an unbelievable speed with an ammunition crate in tow.
Dr. Rashomon: Do you see that, Nicholas?
Dr. Rashomon: This new version of the Gigantes slims down on weaponry. I've focused on making it streamlined and high-speed!
Dr. Rashomon: I cut the weight of the armor and cut the cost as well!
Abomination: O... ongehh!
Vyrn: Even the abominations look surprised!
The crimson-armored robot blasts through the sky at supersonic speed.
It slips through the gaps in the horde of abominations.
Lyria: Just a little farther! Keep going, Gigantes!
Giant Abomination: Agaaah!
But just as the Gigantes starts to get close, a laser beam bombards the machine.
Nicholas: No!
Pieces of the robot rain from the sky. Its arm lands at Nicholas's feet.
Vyrn: The red thing got blown up again!
Dr. Rashomon: I've already accounted for this in my calculations! Open up that piece of armor, Vyrn!
Confused, Vyrn opens the armor from what's left of Gigante's torso.
Vyrn: Whoa, this piece of armor is stuffed chock-full of ammo!
Nicholas: This is why he made the Gigantes lightweight! Well done, Doctor!
Nicholas: Robomi! Ammo's here! Come and resupply!
Robomi: Understood.
Robomi: Resupply completed.
Robomi: Ammunition added to anti-repulsion field. Re-entering battle.
Vyrn: Yeah! Go get 'em, Robomi!

Robomi - Chapter 4: Robotic Whims - Episode 4: Scene 3

Nicholas gives Robomi a present which causes her to overheat and collapse. While unconscious, she recalls memories of a couple developing anti-abomination weapons and artificial intelligence.

Robomi: All abomination targets have been eliminated.
Nicholas: Why didn't you listen to me? Fighting those things without any ammo, you could have put us all in danger!
Child: Hey, garbage can!
Nicholas: Huh? Oh, it's you.
Child: I'm not gonna thank you, stupid-face!
Mother: I'm sorry—we're actually very grateful to you for your help. If you hadn't been there, we wouldn't have made it.
Robomi: ...
Nicholas: Did you do it to protect that child?
Robomi: ...
Nicholas: I was just so shocked that you disobeyed an order.
Nicholas: I thought it was the effect of the maintenance, but I guess I was wrong.
Nicholas: Acting of your own free will... Maybe that's just another way you've matured.
Nicholas: Phew. It's been a long day. Well done, Robomi.
Robomi: No problem.
Nicholas: Oh, I forgot. Stand still for a second.
Lyria: Oh!
Nicholas: I saw that Robomi couldn't stop looking at it in the store, so I bought one more.
Lyria: Robomi! We're matching now!
Robomi: ...!
Vyrn: Huh? What's wrong, Robomi?
Robomi: Warning! Main control circuit overload imminent. Preventative measures required to resolve outer-system malfunction.
Nicholas: What do you mean? Say it in terms that I can understand!
Robomi: I'm...
Robomi: H-h-happy.
Nicholas: Whoa!
Nicholas rushes in closer and puts a hand on Robomi's forehead.
Nicholas: Ouch! You're burning up! Are you overheating or something? Someone fetch some water!
Nicholas and the crew frantically pour water on the robot.
After confirming that Robomi is undamaged, Nicholas goes to repair Gigantes.
Dr. Rashomon: She said she was happy?
Nicholas: That's right, Doc. It seems that removing that part the other day accelerated her personality changes.
Dr. Rashomon: She's progressed to expressions of emotion. This is unexpected.
Vyrn: Emotions, huh?
Dr. Rashomon: Is something the matter, Vyrn?
Vyrn: Well, I was just thinking that it'd be pretty scary if she ever got angry at us.
Dr. Rashomon: Hm, I was just thinking the same. If a misunderstanding were to cause her to be angry with us, who knows what might happen. Nicholas, I fear for what we must do...
Nicholas: Wh-what do we have to do?
Dr. Rashomon: Well, I understand your attachment to Robomi. But unfortunately, I think we need to cryo-freeze her before it's too late.
Nicholas: Wait, wait! Slow down! Robomi is not going to turn against us!
Dr. Rashomon: But there's still much that we don't know about her.
Dr. Rashomon: It's for your own good, Nicholas. I've stood by you up to this point, but—
Nicholas: Robomi is developing emotions! She risked her own life to protect a child! Why would you want to freeze her?
Dr. Rashomon: I trust you already know the rumors that have been spreading.
Dr. Rashomon: Wherever Robomi goes, giant abominations spring up. The rumor goes that she is somehow drawing them out.
Nicholas: What? That's just a malicious rumor! There's no proof to it!
Dr. Rashomon: But we have no proof against it either. Therein lies the problem. I consider temporarily freezing her to be the ideal option.
Nicholas: We don't know how Robomi works! If we were to temporarily freeze her, we might not be able to wake her up! Think of our research!
The two continue to argue about Robomi. They shout so loudly that they don't hear the approaching footsteps.
Robomi: ...
Nicholas: Robomi!
Dr. Rashomon: Anyway, I've said my piece. Think it over, Nicholas.
With a pained expression on his face, Nicholas watches as the doctor leaves.
Nicholas: This isn't like the doctor at all.
Robomi: Nicholas, my hair clip has come loose. Requesting reattachment.
Nicholas: Huh?
Robomi: This unit is not optimized for operating small clip devices such as this.
Nicholas: Ah, I'm sorry. My hands are all filthy at the moment. Lyria, could you do it?
Robomi: ...
Lyria: But, uh, I think she wants you to do it, Nicholas.
Robomi: ...
Nicholas: I... don't quite see why, but hang on a minute... All right, stand still.
Robomi: Thank you, Nicholas.
Nicholas: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Not again!
Lyria: Oh dear! Robomi, hang in there!
Nicholas: You're such a handful, aren't you!
Tatsuya: You're such a handful, aren't you!
Tatsuya: A self-operated weapon with anti-repulsion field equipment... It might sound pretty impressive, but it's not very clever.
Megumi: What about the learning ability you mentioned? Did it not work out?
Tatsuya: No. The control circuit has its limitations.
Megumi: But you're a scientist, right? You'll find a way!
Tatsuya: I guess so. Haha... Oh, what would I do without you here to push me on.
Smiling at his partner, Tatsuya scratches his head awkwardly.
Suddenly, some of the young evacuees run into the lab laughing and playing.
Tatsuya: Ah! Hey! Come on, kids! I told you not to touch anything in the lab!
Megumi: Come now, out you go. It's dangerous here. We'll play with you later, all right?
Tatsuya: I'm fine with letting some of the evacuees stay with us, but now I can barely focus on my research.
Megumi: Well, it's nice and lively, at least! They're all so adorable!
Tatsuya: Do... Do you want children?
Megumi: Someday...
Tatsuya: Hey, Megumi?
Megumi: Hm?
Tatsuya: We've been together for a long time now... and I was thinking, you know...
Megumi: Stop.
Tatsuya: Huh?
Megumi: We're supposed to be having a meeting right now, Tatsuya. Now's not the time.
Tatsuya: Ah! Oh, right! Of course. Sorry, Megumi. There's a time and a place.
Megumi: Just don't do it again! If you do, I'll get you back by wearing a lab coat to our next date!
Tatsuya: Oh dear! Please forgive me!
Nicholas: Robomi... Robomi!
Robomi, are you all right?
Robomi: No issues detected in weapons or chassis.
Robomi continues to grow, even having developed emotions. But as her changes accelerate, so does uncertainty as to what she will become.

Robomi - Chapter 5: King of the Abominations - Episode 1

When Nicholas and Dr. Rashomon speculate that the abominations are being controlled, Robomi brings new proof that supports this theory. They decide to search for the lab where Robomi was built in hopes of findings clues on who or what is manipulating the abominations.

After the argument, Nicholas and Dr. Rashomon remain unable to resolve their differences.
Nicholas has been thinking about the situation ever since and has come to a conclusion.
Nicholas: Doctor, it's about Robomi...
Dr. Rashomon: What is it, Nicholas?
Nicholas: I genuinely believe that there is no chance of Robomi turning against us.
Nicholas: But it seems like you won't agree with me on this, so I'll stop trying to convince you.
Nicholas: I've been thinking about the rumor about Robomi and the abominations.
Nicholas: You know, the one about Robomi drawing the abominations to her.
Dr. Rashomon: Hm, and what is your opinion on the matter?
Nicholas: I hadn't thought that much about the behavior of the abominations, but now that I've considered it, one thing stands out.
Dr. Rashomon: What's that?
Nicholas: It's the abominations. Don't they seem a little too organized?
Nicholas: I thought it was weird how they all knew where Robomi was after just one of them saw her.
Nicholas: And then, when you launched Gigantes MK2, I noticed something.
Nicholas: The abominations, they were clearly surprised at Gigantes's improved speed.
Dr. Rashomon: So?
Nicholas: They knew about it, even though the monsters here should never have seen it before!
Nicholas: I think that the abominations are sharing information with each other somehow.
Dr. Rashomon: Hm, what else?
Nicholas: There's no sign that they're using speech to communicate, and we don't let any survive after each battle.
Nicholas: So even if they did have some form of communication, we've made sure there's no way to return to tell their friends.
Dr. Rashomon: Hm...
Nicholas: But the information is still being transmitted somehow. How though?
Dr. Rashomon: Information is being collected and then given to other abominations some way or another.
Dr. Rashomon: In other words, someone is controlling the abominations from the shadows.
Nicholas: Yes. It seems farfetched, but maybe our real enemy... is a person.
Dr. Rashomon: ...
Dr. Rashomon: It's plausible.
Robomi: Nicholas.
Nicholas: Hm? Oh, Robomi. What's up?
Robomi: I have information to offer on the subject of the abominations.
Nicholas: What?
Nicholas is surprised at the sudden development. Robomi hands him a mechanical part.
Nicholas: What's this?
Robomi: I found it in the remains of one of the abominations. It seems to have been grafted onto the central nervous system and brain.
Nicholas: I feel like I've seen this before. What does this device do?
Robomi: I estimate that it is a piece of machinery to control the actions of the abominations.
Nicholas: So there is someone controlling them!
Dr. Rashomon: Robomi, why have you waited until now to tell us this?
Robomi: What I am about to tell you is classified information, related to the continued survival of all sentient life in the sky.
Robomi: The component that prevented me from revealing classified information was removed by Nicholas.
Robomi: Now that the security module has been lifted, I am able to discuss these issues.
Nicholas: S-security module?
Robomi: This circuit resembles one made by an individual I am familiar with.
Robomi: If we can identify the location of this person, we might be able to find the source of the abominations.
Nicholas: Along with whoever's controlling them.
Dr. Rashomon: So where is this place?
Robomi: The location that I referred to as central command. The laboratory of Tatsuya Yuki—my creator.
Tatsuya: Sigh... This autonomous anti-abomination combat unit might be more trouble than it's worth.
Megumi: Tatsuya, it's not like you to talk about things you've made like that.
Tatsuya: It's got enough firepower, but the artificial intelligence is lacking.
Tatsuya: Every time it goes into battle against the abominations, it comes back half-wrecked.
Tatsuya: The cost of repairing it is eating into the budget.
Tatsuya: I feel like it's costing as much to keep this robot running as it would be to rebuild the entire town if it got destroyed.
Tatsuya: If only we could use the abominations' repulsion fields against them.
Tatsuya: But we need a better lab. We don't have the power to work on that currently.
Megumi: So how about equipping the robot's weapons on a human?
Tatsuya: No! We're here to stop people getting hurt, not send them off as fodder!
Megumi: You could always hand the technology over to the army. That would reduce the number of casualties, right?
Tatsuya: That's no good either! The army generals would never let me do what needs to be done.
Tatsuya: They say that any changes to their weaponry could affect troop effectiveness and morale!
Tatsuya: It's frustrating to be a scientist. Everything you work for can be thrown out for the most stupid reasons.
Tatsuya: Curses! What should we do? Is there anything we can do? Please tell me, Megumi...
Megumi: Tatsuya...

Robomi - Chapter 5: King of the Abominations - Episode 2

With new clues from Robomi on the source of the abominations, Dr. Rashomon goes to analyze abomination samples in hopes of locating where they were made. Suddenly, the research vessel is attacked by flying abominations.

Nicholas: So what you're saying is the lab that built you is still operating, and for some reason it's building abominations?
Robomi: That is correct, Nicholas.
Nicholas: Why is it making them?
Robomi: Answer unknown.
Dr. Rashomon: I see. Do you know the location of the laboratory?
Robomi: It seems that the laboratory has continued to be in operation for many years.
Robomi: The laboratory should be located in an area with a stable source of energy and rich mineral reserves.
Nicholas: Sounds like it'll be hard to find. That doesn't narrow it down much.
Dr. Rashomon: Mineral reserves? So that's what the abominations are constructed from?
Robomi: That is correct, Doctor.
Dr. Rashomon: I see. In that case, I think it's my turn to take the stage.
Nicholas: Oh, do you know something about this, Doctor?
Dr. Rashomon: Nicholas, did you forget my field of expertise? I'm a geologist!
Nicholas: Oh, of course!
Dr. Rashomon: We do geological surveys of many islands aboard the research vessel! Finding the one we're looking for will be an easy task!
Nicholas: Nice one, Doc! Now we can find out where Robomi came from!
Dr. Rashomon: Good. I'm going to take a look at the chemical analysis of the abominations that we took.
Nicholas: Wh-what's going on?
Marie: Nicholas! It's an emergency! We've detected a group of flying abominations headed straight for us!
Nicholas: What? They're flying now?
Robomi: Some abominations are capable of flying for short periods by maximizing their repulsion field limits.
Nicholas: I see.
Nicholas: But why are they coming straight for us this time? They usually only aim for towns!
Robomi: I believe that the laboratory knows that my security features have been released.
Nicholas: So they know you've talked to us about the lab and are coming to make sure you don't tell anyone else?
Nicholas: Doctor! Leave this to us and concentrate on the analysis!
Dr. Rashomon: All right! I'm counting on you, Nicholas!
Nicholas: Can we even fight them in the air? They could come at us from any direction! We'll have to find a deserted island to land on!
Nicholas: Robomi, check your ammunition and combat condition! Get ready to launch!
Robomi: Understood.
The research vessel flies at full speed and slips past the abominations.
The crew breathes a sigh of relief at having received a head start on the abominations for the moment.
They land on a nearby island and begin preparing in earnest for the coming battle.
Nicholas: To be honest, I would've liked to get away from those abominations completely, but then they'd just head to another island.
Robomi: Nicholas, please remove my hair clip before the battle begins.
Nicholas: That's quite the thing to say right before a big fight. Well, I guess it could fall out. Maybe I can adjust your fittings to accommodate it later.
Robomi: Thank you, Nicholas.
Nicholas: It's weird that this slips so much. It doesn't seem to be defective.
Robomi: The hairpin slips because I make it slip.
Nicholas: Huh? What are you saying, Robomi?
Robomi: Multiple abomination targets identified within the area.
Nicholas: Whoa!
Abomination: Abobobobo!
Nicholas: They're here! Attack!

Robomi - Chapter 5: King of the Abominations - Episode 3

After determining the source of the abominations, the research vessel plots a course for Fremel Island. Robomi remembers the time when Tatsuya transplanted his brain into a robot and the sadness that came between him and Megumi.

Dr. Rashomon: I've got it, Nicholas! The minerals that the abominations are made of are from Fremel Island!
Nicholas: Nice one, Doc!
Nicholas: Fremel, huh? Do you think the lab could be there, Robomi?
Robomi: Using the volcano's heat energy, it would be possible for a laboratory to continue working for many years.
Nicholas: I see. What do you think, Doc?
Dr. Rashomon: I think that we should turn the research vessel toward Fremel at once!
Nicholas: The abominations' base, eh? We should take a ton of ammo with us.
Nicholas: Robomi, let's do some extra maintenance on you, just in case.
Dr. Rashomon: Hm, this seems like it will be quite the battle. You should get some rest, Nicholas.
Nicholas: I'm sorry, Doc. I'm just too worked up about all of this. I feel calmer when I'm working on my machines rather than sitting around.
Robomi: ...
Man: The hero has returned, everyone!
Megumi: Is it damaged?
Man: Not that I can see. It'll be fine if you do a bit of maintenance on the joints.
Megumi: I see. Thanks.
Man: Y'know, recently it's been moving differently. What did you change?
Megumi: Well, that'll be in our next report.
Man: You're really something, Megumi. Since Tatsuya went missing, you've been taking care of this all by yourself.
Man: I always thought he had talent, but you're even better!
Megumi: ...
Man: Well, in any case, this invention has saved our world. Even the army brass are taking their hats off to you.
Man: Well, time to go! I'll bring you the materials later. See you.
Megumi: He's gone.
???: M-Meg...
Megumi: Tatsuya...
Tatsuya: You know, I don't regret putting myself into this steel body.
Tatsuya: But sometimes I feel so frustrated.
Tatsuya: It's not that I fear fighting.
Tatsuya: But when I touch your face, I don't feel anything. It's all just data from sensors.
Tatsuya: It makes me so sad.
Megumi: ...
Tatsuya: You feel the same, I know. I'm so sorry, Megumi...
Megumi: ...
Tatsuya: I heard that a creation like me existed before but was frozen for eternity because it was seen as an affront to humanity.
Tatsuya: An affront to humanity, huh? Well, now I know one personally. Hee... Hee... Blast, I can't even laugh properly.
Megumi: ...

Robomi - Chapter 5: King of the Abominations - Episode 4

In preparing for the conflict ahead, Nicholas asks Robomi to escape with her life no matter what. Robomi has a flashback to when Tatsuya stopped functioning, which prompts Megumi to take Tatsuya's place and transfer her mind into the robot.

Nicholas: Right, that's all the checks finished!
Robomi: Thank you, Nicholas.
Nicholas: What are you doing? Is that the thing that controls the abominations?
Robomi: I have reverse-engineered the component and am testing it to see if it can control them.
Nicholas: You're pretty good with your hands!
Robomi: I have fine tuned the hand movement algorithms of this unit. I am now proficient in the execution of precision tasks.
Nicholas: Ah, so I can get you to mend my clothes if they rip?
Nicholas: But anyway, what about the component? Can it be used to control them?
Robomi: There are too many missing parts. It cannot function.
Nicholas: Oh, that's a shame, but we can live with it! We've defeated the abominations up until now, right?
Robomi: This unit has no experience fighting in enclosed spaces such as volcanic caves.
Nicholas: Ah, well, there is that...
Robomi: However, this unit is capable of withstanding ultra-high temperatures such as that of lava.
Robomi: In the unlikely event of an eruption, I will be able to hold back the abominations. Please evacuate if this occurs.
Nicholas: All right, I understand. But we're getting out of there together. Don't refuse that order. Got that?
Nicholas: I don't want to see you get destroyed, Robomi.
Robomi: ...
Man: Even for a robot, it's awful to see it in this state.
Megumi: ...
Man: But what was it thinking? Getting itself damaged in the head like that.
Megumi: He did have a loose screw or two...
Man: Ha! Is that some kind of mechanic's joke?
Man: Don't worry about it. Every piece of software has its bugs.
Man: I don't know anything about physical machines, but you could program a new control system, right?
Megumi: ...
Man: If you need any materials or anything, just give me a call, and I'll get them ordered for you. Anyway, I've gotta go.
Megumi: Materials?
Megumi: There are no materials that could bring Tatsuya back.
Megumi: ...
Megumi: No one shall know of Tatsuya's death.
Megumi: And this body that he left behind will someday be forgotten. It's not right.
Machine Voice: Mind transfer preparations complete. Ready to begin process.
Megumi: I've got to continue what he set out to do...
Machine Voice: Ready to transfer neural pathways into new cerebral host. Please step into the booth and press the activation button.
Megumi: I won't let you die in vain, Tatsuya. If I do this, I shouldn't feel anything, even if I lose my physical body.
Machine Voice: When the cerebral mounting process is complete, emotion system reformat will commence.
Robomi: ...
Nicholas: What? More abominations?
Nicholas: Uh-oh! Are they focusing on the ship?
With enemies coming at them from every possible direction, the Rashomon Research Vessel spins out of control.
Nicholas: We're going down! Brace yourselves, everyone!
The vessel crash-lands into Fremel Island.
Countless abominations surround the ship.
Nicholas: No way! We've come too close to give up now! Robomi, let's go!
Robomi: Understood, Nicholas.

Robomi - Chapter 5: King of the Abominations - Episode 4: Scene 2

Before heading off to the volcano, Robomi reveals that she used to be a human and that her name was Megumi.

The crew barely manages to escape the ship after reaching Fremel Island. They gaze at the hazy peak of the skydom's biggest volcano.
Keeping a wary eye on the smoking crater, Nicholas performs some last-minute adjustments to Robomi.
Nicholas: That volcano is where the abomination nest is, huh? I'm a bit scared, to be honest.
Robomi: Do not worry, Nicholas. I am here to help.
Nicholas: Thanks for the encouragement, Robomi.
Nicholas: It's weird. You're learning more and more words and expressions. You're almost like a human now!
Robomi: Nicholas.
Nicholas: Hm?
Robomi: I am a human.
Nicholas: What!
Robomi: I am a human, Nicholas.
Nicholas: H-hey! Stop messing with me!
Marie: Robomi? What do you mean?
Robomi: My main control circuit was constructed using material from my brain.
Nicholas: Main control circuit? You mean the soupy liquid inside your head?
Robomi: Yes. It is formed of my reconstructed nervous system, stabilized by chemicals and other substances.
Vyrn: Whoa! People in the olden days made some crazy stuff!
Robomi: It was necessary to preserve humanity and fight against the abominations.
Robomi: Removing my human body and emotions was all necessary for becoming a perfect weapon.
Marie: Oh, Robomi...
Nicholas: All right. Let's head over and wipe out the lab in the volcano!
Nicholas: Once the fight's over, I'll try and think of a way to return you to a human body, Robomi. Maybe we could use magic! Or even alchemy!
Robomi: ...
Nicholas: Right, is everyone ready? The big battle's coming up!
Although slightly overwhelmed by Robomi's sudden confession, everyone finishes preparing themselves before heading to the volcano.
Nicholas: Actually...
Robomi: ?
Nicholas: Earlier, you said something about letting the hair clip fall out on purpose.
Robomi: Yes. I let the hair clip fall on purpose.
Nicholas: All right. But why?
Robomi: I was being selfish.
Nicholas: Selfish?
Robomi: Now that the restrictions on my emotions have been lifted, I wanted to feel... cared for.
Nicholas: What? Oh, I see.
Robomi: Nicholas. When the battle is over, if you are ever able to return me to a human body, please call me Megumi.
Robomi: That was my name when I was a human.
Nicholas: All right. You got it.
While they are chatting, they arrive at the foot of Fremel's great volcano.
On their way to the lab unleashing the abominations, the crew step onto the scorching slopes of the volcano.

Robomi - Chapter 6: The Battle of Mt. Freymiel - Episode 1

The crew ventures into the volcanic caves and emerges in a laboratory. Robomi remembers that during her first mind-transfer attempt, the machine detected that she was pregnant and refused to begin the transfer.

There are numerous tracks and traces of abominations around the volcano.
Following these, the crew soon discovers a cave entrance to the underground laboratory.
While keeping watch for any abominations, (Captain) and the crew slowly move through the cave.
Nicholas: Phew. Why'd it have to be in a volcano? I'm cooking in here...
Robomi: The laboratory utilizes the heat energy of the volcano to continue production.
Nicholas: And it's been up and running for thousands of years... Why are they making all these abominations?
Nicholas: It's scary being right on enemy turf. What if our escape route is cut off?
In the sweltering heat of the cave, the crew continues deeper and deeper into the volcano.
They emerge into an open area, which seems to be man-made.
Nicholas: Robomi, is this the laboratory?
Robomi: Yes, Nicholas. This is the laboratory where I was kept.
Abomination: ...
Vyrn: Uh-oh! They're here!
Abomination: ...
Nicholas: It's not attacking. It's not even moving!
Nicholas: Is it asleep? No, this one must be unfinished.
Vyrn: It made me jump! So this place is an abomination factory...
Nicholas: Yeah, this must be where they're made.
Vyrn: This is dangerous, guys. What if they all jump out and attack us?
Robomi reaches out to a control board attached to the water tank where the abominations float dormant.
Suddenly, an unknown voice echoes throughout the room.
Voice: Unit will be ready in six hours.
Robomi: Do not worry, Nicholas. The abominations here are not ready to attack us.
Nicholas: Oh, all right.
Voice: Unit A: No errors detected.
Unit B: No errors detected.
Unit C: Currently resolving errors.
Robomi stands still as she listens to the strange voice.
Announcement: Beginning mind transfer. Initializing transfer equipment.
Megumi: ...
Announcement: Error initializing transfer equipment.
Megumi: Error?
Announcement: This machine's use is restricted to one person.
Megumi: One person? What are you saying? Start the process!
Announcement: This machine's use is restricted to one person.
Announcement: Please remove everyone but the target from the chamber.
Megumi: There's no one in here but me! Start the process!
Announcement: This machine's use is restricted to one person. Please remove everyone but the target from the chamber.
Megumi: What? But there's no one else in here.
Megumi: ...
Megumi: No.
Megumi: Could I be pregnant?
Megumi: ...
Announcement: Transfer operation aborted.

Robomi - Chapter 6: The Battle of Mt. Freymiel - Episode 2

The crew nears the area where the abominations are being made. Robomi has a flashback to the time right before the mind transfer where she chooses to sacrifice her body to save the lives of the evacuees under attack.

The crew continue deeper into the volcano as they pass row upon row of water tanks.
Finally, they reach a strange wall blocking their progress.
Nicholas: What's this wall?
Robomi: The research rooms are past this point. They should contain the machinery for building abominations.
Vyrn: So you're saying if we smash up that machinery they won't be able to make any more?
Robomi: Yes. Please stand back.
Robomi: The research rooms have a repulsion field defense measure.
Robomi: The repulsion field is superheated. If a living organism were to come into contact with it, it would be vaporized.
Vyrn: Yikes! That's pretty scary.
Robomi: It was used as an anti-abomination defense mechanism in the past.
Announcer: Transfer cancelled. Beginning decontamination of booth.
Megumi: A baby. What am I going to do?
Megumi: ...
Megumi: What? Oh no!
Loudspeaker: Abomination attack detected! Get the evacuees to the shelter, followed by all staff members!
Loudspeaker: This is not a drill! Repeat, this is not a drill!
Male Voice 1: This is bad! They've broken through the shield.
Male Voice 2: No! It was supposed to hold them back long enough for us to evacuate!
Male Voice 1: A huge one has appeared outside! It's at least ten times bigger than the normal abominations!
Male Voice 2: Why isn't the robot here? It's abandoned us!
Child's Voice: Waaah! Mommy! Mommy!
Megumi: ...!
Megumi: Tatsuya, I...
Child's Voice: Waaah!
Woman's Voice: It's gonna be all right. The robot's going to come and save us all.
Megumi: I won't be able to turn back after this.
Megumi: But if I can't protect the others, I'll never be able to live with myself!
Megumi: Stop the decontamination! Recommence the transfer!
Megumi: Override the previous limitations! Just save the baby and put it in a maturation pod!
Megumi: If I use the body that Tatsuya built and the emotion suppression system...
Megumi: I will become the ultimate weapon.
Announcement: Beginning transfer.
Nicholas: Robomi? What's up?
Robomi: I am fine. No reaction detected from repulsion field. It is safe, Nicholas.

Robomi - Chapter 6: The Battle of Mt. Freymiel - Episode 3

In the lab the crew meets an artificial intelligence created from the mind of Kenji, Megumi's child. He reveals that he's been generating the abominations in order for Robomi to be revered as a hero. He then disappears without another word.

Inside the research rooms there is no sign of human life. Strange machines with unknown purpose work endlessly.
(Captain) and the crew are looking for the machines that are making the abominations.
???: You've finally found your way here.
Robomi: !
A hazy shadow floats out of the darkness. Robomi begins to shake at the sight of the flickering figure.
Nicholas: What? Who are you? What are you?
???: Nice to meet you. I'm afraid I can't answer your question easily. I'm simply a data copy of a person.
Robomi: Tatsuya?
???: That... is the man whose son I am based on—my father, if you will.
Robomi: Kenji!
Vyrn: Huh? Robomi, do you know this see-through guy?
Kenji: We've never met face-to-face before. But we are related. I am a recreation of Robomi's son.
Nicholas: What!
Vyrn: No way!
Lyria: Robomi's son?
Robomi: ...
Kenji: Yes. I suppose that makes me one of the ancients too.
The crew appears confused at the sudden appearance of this mysterious man.
Still struggling to process the revelation, Nicholas opens his mouth to speak.
Nicholas: So... What are you doing here exactly?
Kenji: Overseeing the production of abominations, of course. My responsibility was to release them when Robomi awakened.
Nicholas: You? You're responsible for the abominations?
Kenji: Indeed. The man I was created from was the instigator of this plan. Allow me to explain.
Kenji: You already know that Robomi was built to battle against the monsters, correct?
Robomi: ...
Kenji: As you can see, she's incredibly powerful. But one day we suddenly lost track of her in the midst of a battle.
Kenji: After analyzing the last signal the lab received, I concluded that one day Robomi would reawaken.
Kenji: I have been preparing for that by making enemies for Robomi to fight. I also implanted them with transmitters so they can find her.
Vyrn: I don't get it at all. Why are you doing this?
Kenji: Through Robomi's efforts, the tide of the fight between abominations and humans was turned.
Kenji: Our research into the abominations made good progress, and after Robomi's disappearance, we learned how to control them.
Kenji: Robomi's work was over, so she shut down. But what would happen if there was no work for her when she awoke?
Nicholas: She's strong, so you were worried that she would be used as a weapon of war.
Kenji: Yes. The man I was created from feared that possibility.
Kenji: He also didn't want her to be abhorred by the people and destroyed as a danger to society.
Kenji: So we watched out for her signal, and began to construct an abomination menace ready for when she awoke.
Kenji: We knew that doing so would give Robomi purpose, and maybe even make her a hero. And it worked, didn't it?
Robomi: ...
Kenji: Which means that my part in the plan is finished.
Kenji: I've been waiting here for so long. So very long...
Kenji: Soon I can sleep. I'll be sure to stop the abomination generators.
Kenji: But watch your step on the way out. Once production stops, who knows what might wake up.
Nicholas: He's disappeared! Come back! There's still so much we need to ask you!
Lyria: He's gone.
They call his name, but Kenji doesn't return.
It seems that the menace of the abominations is over, but the crew leave the laboratory just as anxious as they came.

Robomi - Chapter 6: The Battle of Mt. Freymiel - Episode 3: Scene 2

Kenji says the abomination generators are shut down, but the crew soon realize that they've been led into an ambush.

The crew fight off abominations as they move through the rooms of the laboratory.
Suddenly, Robomi stops.
Lyria: Robomi? Is something wrong?
Robomi: Warning. Enemy abominations detected.
Nicholas: Again? Which direction is it this time?
Robomi: All directions.
Vyrn: No way! We're gonna be surrounded!
Nicholas: What? How many of them?
Robomi: Continually increasing—unable to determine total number.
Vyrn: Wait, didn't that hologram guy shut down the abomination-making equipment?
Robomi: I cannot confirm whether the machinery is still operating.
Nicholas: Did he lie to us just to make us let our guard down?
Robomi: It seems that you are correct.
Vyrn: This makes no sense. What is that hologram trying to do?
Nicholas: Who knows? But it seems like he doesn't want us to escape.
Nicholas: Robomi, can you give us a status update?
Robomi: Enemy abominations have breached the perimeter. Beginning attack.

Robomi - Chapter 6: The Battle of Mt. Freymiel - Episode 4

The crew escapes the laboratory, but Kenji reappears. He resents Robomi for abandoning him as a baby and has been waiting for thousands of years to confront her for a final battle.

Overwhelmed by the huge number of abominations, (Captain) and the crew escape the laboratory.
They hide outside and keep watch over the entrance for abominations to come bursting forth.
Kenji: Hm, it looks like we can't beat you with just strength in numbers.
Robomi: Kenji!
Vyrn: Hey! It's that hologram thing from before!
Vyrn: What are you trying to do? Telling us to get out of there, but setting the abominations on us anyway!
Kenji: My apologies. To put it bluntly, I wanted to get rid of all of you except Robomi.
Kenji: But this was not in the plan. I never could have guessed that Robomi could become this strong. The rest of you aren't bad either.
Kenji: Not to worry though. I have a backup plan.
Giant Beast: Graaaaaaagh!
Robomi: Nicholas, get back!
Nicholas: Wh-what is that?
Kenji: This abomination was known in ancient times as humanity's greatest fear. It even destroyed the labs with repulsion technology.
Nicholas: Oh no. This can't be good.
Kenji: I couldn't have put it better myself! You are exhausted, and Robomi is almost out of ammunition! There's no way out of this.
Nicholas: ...
Kenji: And while I've got your attention, I have a question for Robomi.
Kenji: How does it feel to have those who should be by your side taken from you?
Nicholas: What?
Kenji: I just want to know what reaction Robomi will have when her friends are obliterated in front of her by abominations.
Kenji: Perhaps it might compare to the feeling of being born from a pod and finding I have no parents.
Kenji: I wanted to ask my mother what she was thinking when she abandoned me and disappeared.
Nicholas: That's what you were waiting all these thousands of years to do?
Kenji: Yes. I uploaded my consciousness, and I've waited exactly 70,165 years, 287 days, 14 hours, 31 minutes and 57 seconds.
Kenji: And what did I see when I finally let the abominations loose? You playing house on the airship as if I didn't exist!
Kenji: You never even stuck around to see me grow up, but you're happy to spend all your time with these people? Why, Robomi?
Robomi: Kenji!
Kenji: You don't have the right to use my name!
Kenji: Anyway. That's all I have to say to you. Now you can die.
Giant Abomination: Graaaaaaagh!
Nicholas: Ha! You think we're gonna go down that easily? Robomi, get ready!
Robomi: Understood, Nicholas. Preparing energy charge.
Giant Abomination: Graaaaaaagh!

Robomi - Ending

The crew defeats the colossal abomination, but Robomi sustains life-threatening damage. She sacrifices herself to destroy the laboratory and save the world from the abominations. Some time later, Nicholas reveals that he has been constructing a Robomi replica.

Giant Abomination: Graaaaaaagh!
Kenji: No way!
Robomi: Ammunition depleted. Numerous malfunctions detected. Sensors inoperative. Flight regulators offline.
Robomi: Report: damage to main carapace confirmed. Contamination detected.
Kenji: No, wait! We need to get to the lab to repair you! Quick!
Robomi: Numerous abominations detected within the laboratory.
Nicholas: Oh no! We have to get out of here! Come on, get up.
Robomi: I'm afraid I can't do that, Nicholas.
Nicholas: What are you saying, Robomi! There's nothing you can do about the abominations in the lab!
Robomi: The abomination manufacturing unit must be destroyed.
Nicholas: But the lab is protected by a powerful force field. How will you get through it?
Robomi: If the anti-repulsion field generator is compromised, it will destroy both the force field and the laboratory.
Nicholas: I see...
Nicholas: Wait, no! What you're suggesting, it will...
Robomi: Destroy me as well.
Nicholas: ...!
You can't!
Robomi: Nicholas, I need your confirmation.
Nicholas: Never! How could you ask me to consent to that? Why!
Robomi: It is a security measure hardwired into my base programming.
Robomi: This unit is not able to self-terminate. Such action requires external authorization. That's why I need you.
Nicholas: But...
Robomi: My circuitry has been compromised and contaminated. It will not be long before my software becomes corrupted.
Nicholas: Wait! I can fix you!
Robomi: Impossible. You do not have the ability to repair the damage to my core circuitry.
Nicholas: But I'm the mechanic! I've fixed you a hundred times before, so I can fix you this time too!
Robomi: The damage I have suffered cannot be fixed by any current technology.
Robomi: While I am still operational, let me put an end to all this. I have to go after Kenji, my son.
Robomi: In giving up my organic form and becoming Robomi, I abandoned my child. I need to redeem myself.
Nicholas: ...
Robomi: Nicholas, please.
Nicholas: Fine. Go, Robomi, go!
Nicholas: My final order! Be a hero and save us all!
Robomi: Understood.
Nicholas: ...
Robomi: Nicholas, thank you.
Robomi: I am glad that I got the chance to save you. Even after all these years, you're still caring for me.
Robomi: ...?
Robomi: Are these... tears?
Robomi: Beginning overload of anti-repulsion field generator.
With a half-broken propulsion drive, Robomi sputters as she makes her way toward the lab.
No one can say whether the liquid coming from her eyes was a result of her lenses melting or real tears.
Either way, they were shed for her beloved Nicholas.
Kenji: You? What are you doing here?
Robomi: ...
Kenji: If I had to guess, I'd say that you're here to overload the generator.
Kenji: Do you care about those fools that much?
Kenji: ...
Kenji: I had no idea the people I was fighting against would include my own mother.
Kenji: I thought I was an orphan. I was alone and had nothing!
Robomi: Kenji...
Kenji: No! You don't get to use my name! Not after all this.
Robomi: We picked your name, Tatsuya and I, before you were even born.
Robomi: We used to talk about what we'd name our children.
Robomi: Once the war was over, when the world was at peace, we were going to live happily ever after.
Kenji: ...
Well, it's too late now.
Robomi: You are right. I am sorry.
Nicholas: Robomi...
Nicholas: Robomi!
A few months later, the tumultuous events of the abomination attacks are all but forgotten.
Engrossed in his work, Nicholas is holed up in his laboratory.
Marie: What's he doing in there? What is he keeping from us?
Marie: He can't be up to his old tricks again, making all kinds of strange devices, can he?
Marie: Nicholas! You'd better not be ruining our budget!
Nicholas: Whoa!
Robomi: ...
Marie: ...!
Nicholas: Don't sneak up on me like that.
Marie: Th-that's Robomi! What is she doing here?
Nicholas: Ah, this is a replica. An automaton.
Nicholas: Using Robomi's design as a blueprint, I'm giving new life to some old technology. I thought it'd be cool to mix of old and new.
Nicholas: I wanted to see how far I could take it. It still doesn't do much, and there's no defensive shield.
Marie: Still, it's very impressive. It looks just like the real thing.
Nicholas: Yes. The carapace was a spare I kept in storage. I had to make the head out of a milk and bread paste.
Marie: Milk and bread? What are you talking about?
Nicholas: Oh, don't mind me...
Nicholas: Anyway, I just have one more thing to add and she'll be more or less complete. It's her emotion circuitry.
Marie: Is there a point to including that? She's just a replica after all.
Nicholas: Probably not. But if I use it instead of the usual main circuitry...
Nicholas: And if the emotion circuits can take over the functionality of the parts that are missing...
Nicholas: Then maybe it'll be able to think on its own. The goal is to make a robot that can think.
Nicholas: If my work, my robot, can help (Captain), then none of this would have been in vain.
Marie: Nicholas, you need to get over the loss of Robomi.
Nicholas: ...
Nicholas: Robomi's son said that all heroes are eventually forgotten. Isn't that sad?
Nicholas: We depend on machines more than we know. Robomi gave her life protecting us, and I don't want to forget that.
Nicholas: There! It's done! Now I need to check if the circuitry is live. Marie, would you mind helping me get her up?
Marie: I suppose. It must get lonely, being here all on your own when my father isn't around.
Nicholas: Thank you.
Nicholas: Here goes nothing!
Nicholas: Robomi, activate!
Robomi: ...!
And so, your destiny has come full circle.
It may be hard for me to grasp the true significance of your existence, which has spanned tens of thousands of years.
But I know one thing. You left behind more than just spare parts.
Thanks to Robomi, we've learned so much about ancient technology, and we'll be able to use it in so many things in the future.
She'll be able to live on through all of those things, never to be forgotten.
Robomi
