The crew has accepted a request to clear out a cave of vicious monsters that have occupied it.
However, they arrive at the cave to find a slew of already defeated monsters before them.
Lyria: Look, (Captain)! Who could've done this?
Vyrn: Someone's got crazy skills! It doesn't look like they have been here long either.
Lyria: I think... I think we should see where this path leads.
The crew follows the trail of defeated monsters to find a young man in the heat of battle with more monsters.
???: Raaaugh!
Monster: Groar...
Seeing that the lone fighter is fending off a horde of monsters on his own, the crew quickly rushes to his aid.
???: Phew... Wheeze... Thanks for that.
After being saved, the man introduces himself to the crew as Zehek.
Vyrn: Look here, Bandages... What were you thinking, fightin' off all those monsters all by yourself? What were you doing here anyway?
Zehek: Guh... I was thinking I'd rest here tonight, but I guess that was just wishful thinking...
Zehek explains the curse he bears, causing him to suffer from an ancient magical ailment.
The illness has made his body a spring of magical power, attracting monsters in search of magical energy from near and far.
Lyria: Wow... That must be so hard for you...
Zehek: Ugh... Yes, this magical energy incessantly seeps through my body.
Zehek: Wheeze... There's nothing I can do to stop it.
Zehek: So... there's no helping me. Do yourself a favor and get as far away as...
  1. Hold on a moment!
  2. Okay! Good luck!

Choose: Hold on a moment!
Zehek: Urgh... What are you waiting for! Don't you understand? My magical energy will draw them out—run while you still can!
Lyria: You don't have to worry! It'll take more than just some monsters to scare us!
Zehek: Huh... What are you people?
Vyrn: Heh! You think we'd leave someone who was clearly in pain or trouble?

Choose: Okay! Good luck!
Zehek: H-hold on now! Why'd you go stick your neck out for me!
Zehek: If you don't plan on getting involved with me... You shouldn't have meddled in my business in the first place!
Vyrn: Yikes, you don't need to thank us or anything! Geez.
Zehek: Huff... Puff... I'm sorry. Please... Just one night. Could you stay by my side?
Vyrn: Hmm, yeah... I think we could probably do that.
Lyria: You can rest up on our airship if you like.

Zehek: Thank you... I'm glad... I ran into you...
Almost immediately after the crew agrees to help him, Zehek collapses to the ground.
Vyrn: Hey, tough guy! Hang in there!
Zehek: Zzz... Zzz...
Lyria: Hahaha... It looks like he fell asleep.
Vyrn: Geez! I thought he was dead after hearing all that! He was just sleepy?
After their fated encounter, Zehek joins the crew as he searches for a cure to overcome his magical malady.

Some time passes after Zehek is welcomed as a member of (Captain)'s crew, but the ancient sickness still ails him during their journeys.
As his battles go on, however, the ancient blight that afflicts him begins to worsen.
Zehek: Wheeze... Pant... Guh... Pant...
As he fades in and out of consciousness, he attempts to suppress the magic that wells inside of him.
Zehek: Urgh... Graaargh!
At that moment a voice rings out in Zehek's head as if in response to the magic within him.
Mysterious Voice: You... harbor... ancient... magic...
Zehek: Great... Now I'm even starting to hear things.
Mysterious Voice: I am... Ma... gus...
Zehek: Ugh, what's happening! I... I can't move.
Mysterious Voice: Break... seal... I will... cure... sickness...
Mysterious Voice: I await... in distant... land...
Leaving bizarre reverberations, the voice fades from inside his head.
Zehek: Huff... Puff... What was that all about?
The fragmented words continue to echo and linger in Zehek's head.
Guided by a mysterious voice, a new adventure surrounding Zehek's ancient magic unfolds.
He still knows not of the trials that await him on his journey.

Scattering Magic - Chapter 1: A Guiding Voice - Episode 1

The crew head into a town to find medicine for Zehek and take a break at a nearby restaurant. They encounter Sturm and Drang, who try to make a run for it as soon as they're found.

A few days later, Zehek and the others head out to a nearby town to pick up some more herbs for his pain.
At the same time, Sturm and Drang are eating in a restaurant in the same town.
Drang: Say, Sturm... What say you we just make a run for it?
Sturm: Don't be silly. We've taken an advance payment this time.
Sturm: Keep prattling on with your cowardly ideas and I'll stab you.
Drang: About that... We could just take the cash and enjoy a bit of the high life for a—yeeouch!
Sturm: No. We'd be immediately blacklisted from getting new work.
Drang: Aww... But we've been looking all over and haven't found a trace of this Magus guy!
Sturm: Then why'd you even take this job? You sounded so confident about it too!
Drang: I couldn't help it... I mean, our collective wallets were empty! And our collective stomachs too!
Sturm: Shut it! Just what are we gonna do now?
At that moment, (Captain)'s crew enters the restaurant with Zehek.
Drang: Gah, Sturm! Hide, quick!
Sturm: ...!
(Drang, what are you doing?)
Drang: (Look, it's those do-gooders. We don't need to bump into them now...)
Drang and Sturm wait quietly, looking for a chance to slip away.
Vyrn: Yo, Zehek... You don't look so hot. Are you gonna be okay?
Zehek: Not sure... That voice I keep on hearing at night has really been taking a toll on my sleep intake...
Lyria: What? You're still hearing that?
Lyria: This voice that keeps going on about Magus?
Drang: (Magus!)
Zehek: Yeah... This Magus is supposedly sealed away somewhere and claims to be able to heal me.
Zehek: It seems foolish to believe it could hold any truth, yet I also feel like it might mean something very real.
Vyrn: Huh... Where's this Magus supposedly sealed away, anyway?
Zehek: That's the thing...
Drang: (What's the thing? What's the thing?)
Zehek: I've tried putting it all together, and... I just get too sleepy.
Drang: Oh, come on!
Sturm: (Idiot! Keep your voice down!)
Vyrn: It's you two! What are you doing hiding there?
Sturm: Heh. We just happened to be enjoying some time off. Are we gonna have a problem here?
Drang: Ah, long time no see! And, uh, we'll see you again... Until next time!
Drang: (Sturm, make a run for it!)
Sturm: (Hold it, Drang! We haven't paid our bill yet...)
Shopkeep: Those two are trying to beat the check! Someone grab them!
Vyrn: Let's get 'em, (Captain)!

Scattering Magic - Chapter 1: A Guiding Voice - Episode 1: Scene 2

The crew quickly apprehend Sturm and Drang. Drang reveals to Zehek that he too has been hearing the voice of Magus, and they immediately hit it off.

(Captain) and the crew drag Sturm and Drang back into the restaurant.
Shopkeep: Geez... You know these two or something?
Vyrn: Well, I guess you could say that.
Shopkeep: You're free to pick a fight with whomever you like, but please do it outside.
Drang: Don't get the wrong idea. We were just exercising a little after our meal.
Drang: Anyway, here's your payment! I added a little more as an apology too!
Shopkeep: V-very well, but watch yourselves from now on!
Sturm: Of course...
Lyria: S-sorry...
Vyrn: Why are you apologizing, Lyria?
Vyrn: And you two! What are you playing at? Running off the moment we see you?
Drang: I just reacted on instinct. Fight or flight, I pick flight every time! Ahahaha!
Drang: Anyway, just glad to be getting the old gang back together. How about a cup of tea?
Lyria: S-sure. All this shopping has worn me out a little, so I could do with a break.
Vyrn: What do you two want, anyway? Up to no good again, I'm sure.
Sturm: Oh, you're sure, are you?
Drang: Now, now, Sturm! We're done fighting, so let's all be friends!
Drang: Anyway, the thing is, we just happened to overhear you talking.
Drang: This voice you've been hearing? It seems I've been hearing it too!
Zehek: What? You have?
Drang: That's right. All about Magus, being sealed, all of that.
Drang: What a coincidence, eh? I'm hearing the voice too—this Magus? Every night, man—just won't shut up!
Zehek: ...
Drang: Ahahaha! I'm not getting enough sleep either. Looks like we both have it rough!
Drang: So I'm thinking, the reason we met like this is because we're both chosen by Magus! We've been drawn together!
Zehek: Chosen by Magus?
Zehek: I see... So you and I have both been chosen by Magus then!
Drang: Huh? Oh, uh, yes! That's right!
Drang: We're allies! Comrades! Brothers, almost!
Zehek: Yes! Brothers! The threads of fate have brought us together it seems.
Zehek: If you're hearing the voice too, that means it's not just in my head! It must've been destined that we'd get to the bottom of this.
Drang: Yes indeed! That's right—destiny! Let us work together to find out where this voice is coming from!
Drang: You know what this means, (Captain)! It looks like the terrible twosome's on your team again!
Vyrn: Sheesh... Well, that escalated pretty quickly.
Lyria: Hahaha... Those two do seem rather alike.
Sturm: Humph. That idiot just does whatever he wants.
Zehek and Drang take to each other almost immediately.
The crew returns to the Grandcypher with two new additions to try and find more clues about Magus and the voice.

Scattering Magic - Chapter 1: A Guiding Voice - Episode 2

The crew hits a dead end trying to uncover the mystery behind Magus. They suggest asking Zehek's master, Mishra, who is well versed in ancient knowledge and pay her a visit at her home deep in an ancient forest. Despite getting a little caught up in her peculiarities, they successfully obtain new information on Magus.

Mishra not in crew

The crew has hit a dead end in trying to track down Magus.
They suggest asking Zehek's master, who is well versed in ancient knowledge.
Zehek: No, hold on. I don't think we want to bring her to into this.
Vyrn: Why not? Surely she knows all about this stuff?
Vyrn: Having her along might be useful, especially with you being sick.
Lyria: That's right! We won't have to worry about you having a sudden episode!
Zehek: About that... Look, my master... She's a little...
Vyrn: What are you muttering about? Take us to her already!
Zehek: Ngh... Very well. But on your head be it!
Lyria: Hehe... Mishra, right? I wonder what kind of person she is, (Captain)?
The crew, accompanied with the rather reluctant Zehek, make their way to find his master.
The party visits Mishra in her home, deep in an ancient forest far removed from other dwellings.
Zehek: Master, I've returned.
Mishra: What's this? Zehek, is that you? Where have you been all this time?
Zehek: Umm... Here and there, I guess. I met this crew of skyfarers, and I've been staying with them...
Mishra: Anyway, you came back at the perfect time! I actually have a new potion I want to try on you right away!
Zehek: M-Master! Please... let me introduce you to (Captain) and the others first!
Vyrn: There's something we need to ask you!
Mishra: Oh? What's this now? Some kind of rare lizard?
Vyrn: Hey, I ain't no lizard!
Mishra: Oh! One more thing—I have some special beauty cream that would be perfect for you!
Vyrn: Hey, don't ignore me!
Mishra: Come on now, follow me!
Lyria: Ah, Mishra! P-please wait for us!
Zehek: Sigh...
Despite having just arrived at her home, the crew is immediately caught up in Mishra's very peculiar world.
Before anyone is able to get a word in about Magus, they find themselves covered in beauty cream and thoroughly lectured in its uses.
Mishra: Hahaha! Lovely, just lovely! I never dreamed that you'd bring me guests, Zehek!
Vyrn: (Psst... Zehek. How long is this gonna take?)
Zehek: (This is why I told you not to come here!)
Vyrn: (We didn't know she was like this!)
Mishra: Hmm? Did you say anything, lizard?
Vyrn: Guh! Uh, I'm not a lizard!
Lyria: Um... Excuse me, Mishra! Can I ask you something?
Able to successfully secure a moment to speak, Lyria explains everything that's been happening to Zehek recently.
Mishra: I see. Magus, you say? Give me a moment.
Mishra: My texts about Magus should be—yes, around here somewhere...
Mishra picks out a dusty book and starts quickly turning through its pages with great zeal.
Mishra: Hmm, yes. This is it!
Mishra: An ancient legacy, lost long ago, the primal beast Magus...
Mishra: Is said to slumber in the eastern island of the rising sun... Or at least that's what it says here!
Lyria: An ancient legacy... Magus.
Zehek: I see! So the distant land the voice was speaking about was this place far to the east?
Mishra: Oh, this is all most interesting! Allow me to join you in the search for Magus!
Zehek: Urk! Master... You're coming too?
Mishra: Mm-hmm. Is something wrong?
Vyrn: (Wait, Zehek! I know how you feel, but we need her with us for this one!)
Zehek: Yes... I suppose you're right.
Lyria: Great! Glad to have you aboard, Mishra!
Mishra: Well, now that that's settled, let us head east!
And thus, Mishra joins the crew alongside Sturm and Drang.
With a new and powerful ally on their side, the crew take flight toward the east.
Mishra is a crew member

The crew has hit a dead end in trying to track down Magus.
They suggest asking Mishra, who is well versed in ancient knowledge.
Zehek: No, wait... I don't think we should bring her into this after all...
Vyrn: I mean, she might know something, but... I dunno about her.
Sturm: Why? What's the matter?
Drang: Now, now. Sitting around here talking about it won't get us anywhere. Let's just go and see her!
Zehek: My brother. You only say this because you have never met my master.
Drang: It'll be fine! She's an Erune like me, right?
Zehek: Yes. That's true, but...
Drang: Then we'll be fine! I'm a hit with the older ladies, you see!
Drang: And besides, I've got to meet your nearest and dearest, Brother!
Lyria: Well, if you insist, Drang, I guess we can give it a try.
Sturm: I'll wait here for you to return.
Lyria: Good idea. Keep an eye on things while we're out, Sturm. Thanks!
The crew visits Mishra in her home, surprised by the interesting development that unfolds from an unexpected dynamic.
Mishra: Hahaha! Wonderful, wonderful! I've never had such a conversationalist visit before! You've made a good friend, Zehek!
Zehek: Y-yes...
Drang: Talking to you is such fun, Mishra!
Drang: I wish I'd found someone like you to mentor me, really I do!
Mishra: Enough of that. You don't need to butter me up.
Drang: I'm not buttering anything! I merely speak from the heart!
Drang: Your research into the maintenance of beauty is a revelation, Mishra!
Mishra: You're a real charmer. I'm impressed.
Vyrn: This guy is something else. I've never seen Mishra so happy before.
Lyria: Hahaha... But when is he going to ask her about Magus?
Zehek: Brother...
Drang notices Zehek looking anxious and shifts the conversation topic.
Drang: Say, Mishra! Can you tell me more about your study of ancient languages?
Mishra: What's this? You're interested in ancient languages too?
Drang: Of course! We Erune are all about curiosity!
The two of them start to discuss the romanticism of ancient texts.
Drang: Mishra. With all your knowledge, there's something I'd like to discuss with you.
At the perfect moment, Drang brings up the issues that Zehek has been having recently.
Mishra: I see. Magus, is it?
Drang: Fantastic! I'm so glad you'll be joining us on this adventure of ours!
Mishra: Hehe... Do you really enjoy spending time with me that much?
Zehek: Urk! Master... You're coming too?
Mishra: Mm-hmm. Is something wrong?
Drang: Of course not! Right, Brother?
Drang: (Don't you worry. Leave her to me!)
Zehek: Very well. Glad to have you along.
Mishra: Wonderful, wonderful! This is going to be such fun!
Lyria: Great! Thanks for helping us out, Mishra!
Mishra: Well, now that that's settled, let us head east!
And thus, Mishra agrees to accompany everyone, alongside Sturm and Drang.
With that, the crew takes flight toward the east.

Scattering Magic - Chapter 1: A Guiding Voice - Episode 3

The Grandcypher sails eastward for days in search of the fabled island where Magus dwells. The crew begins to wonder if the island even exists at all as Zehek's symptoms grow worse. Out of concern for his well-being, they try to cheer him up.

The crew flies for days in hope of finding the alleged eastern island of the rising sun.
Vyrn: It's been a while since we left the last port. I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever get there.
Mishra: A long journey is to be expected... This is an unmapped land of folklore, after all.
Drang: Ah, the hallowed island where Magus slumbers! What an adventure!
Zehek: We'll... make it... We have to...
Lyria: Are you all right, Zehek?
Zehek: Yeah... I'm still going.
Sturm: Heads up. We've got company, so quit slacking.
Zehek: Hngh... It looks like my magic drew them in again. Very well... Let's take care of this.
Zehek: Guh... Damn this sickness!
Lyria: A-are you all right?
Zehek: The magic is just becoming harder to keep under control. More painful too.
Mishra: Hmm... My medicinal herbs have already started to lose their effect.
Zehek: Ngh... What's going to happen to me?
Lyria: Hang in there! I'm sure Magus will be able to heal you!
Zehek: Yeah... If this Magus even exists...
Vyrn: Hey, come on! We've just begun our search!
Drang: That's right, brother! A positive attitude can do wonders for any ailment!
Drang: Don't you worry... I'll find Magus and get you back to normal!
Zehek: Thank you, brother.
Drang: Magus! We're coming, so you just stay right where you are!

Scattering Magic - Chapter 1: A Guiding Voice - Episode 4

On the deck of the Grandcypher, Zehek hears the mysterious voice of Magus once again, instructing the crew to proceed. Despite apprehension about the black clouds that lie ahead, they decide to trust the voice. Zehek immediately begins to lose control of his magic upon entering the violent storm. As if in response, a bolt of lightning strikes the airship, and the crew find themselves before a small island covered in trees.

Mysterious Voice: Ancient... one...
Zehek: ...!
Mishra: What is the matter, Zehek? Are you in pain?
Zehek: No... Just now, I heard Magus's voice again.
Mysterious Voice: Ancient one... Welcome...
Zehek: Rngh... The voice... Magus's voice is calling! Can you hear it, Brother?
Drang: Uh... Oh yes! Of course, my brother! Ugh... My head!
Mysterious Voice: Proceed...
Zehek: Huff... Puff... The voice is telling us to proceed, (Captain).
Drang: Pant... Wheeze... That's right—full speed ahead!
Lyria: If we stay on this course, we'll fly straight into that black cloud!
Vyrn: Yeah, uh... Those storms look pretty serious.
Mysterious Voice: Fear not... Trust me... Proceed...
Zehek: We'll be fine. Magus is telling us to believe and proceed!
Zehek: Everyone grab on to something! We're going in!
Drang: There's no need to fear... Magus is with us!
The Grandcypher is immediately buffeted by violent gales from the shadowy clouds.
Drang: Mishra! Are you all right?
Mishra: Don't you worry about me! What about your girlfriend over there?
Sturm: Watch what you call me. If anything happens, I can use Drang as an anchor if needed.
Drang: Wait, what's that supposed to mean? Does it involve stabbing? Don't say such scary things, Sturm!
Vyrn: Anyway... It looks like we're all still in one piece. We're headed straight for that cloud!
Immediately upon flying into the cluster of stormy clouds, Zehek loses control of his magic.
Zehek: Guh! Hack! Graaargh!
Drang: What's the matter, Brother? Get it together!
Mishra: Drang, keep hold of him! I'll silence his magic with my own!
However, before Mishra can do anything, the clouds surrounding the Grandcypher react to Zehek's magic.
As if in synchronization with Zehek's pain, a bolt of lightning strikes the airship.
Zehek: Uraaargh!
Both Zehek's roars and the airship are swallowed by the clouds.
Almost instantly the storm vanishes, as if it were just a fleeting dream.
The crew is relieved to see the storm has gone, revealing a small, green island before them.
Zehek: Wheeze... Pant... Do you think we've made it... The land from where the sun rises?
Mysterious Voice: I await... Ancient one...
Zehek: W-wait! Who are you? Tell me!
Zehek's questions go unanswered, however, and the voice falls quiet.
The crew carefully docks the Grandcypher on the shore of the island.
By the time they are all locked down, Zehek is starting to feel better too.
Vyrn: Okay! Well... It looks like the crew's all here.
Vyrn: So, uh... Is this the place?
Mishra: It does not look like anything out of the ordinary. Is this really where Magus slumbers?
Zehek: How about it, Lyria? Do you feel the presence of a primal beast here?
Lyria: Yes... I sense something resembling a primal beast, but it's... foggy.
Mishra: Well... That's a start. The seal is probably making it harder to feel its power.
Drang: Now then! Time waits for no one! Let us begin our search in earnest, Brother!
Zehek: Now wait, my brother! We do not know what awaits us here... We need to proceed with care.
Drang: Agreed, Brother! I appreciate you looking out for me!
Zehek: Heh... We're brothers in this together, after all.
Sturm: I really can't keep up with these two.
Vyrn: Tell me about it.
Sturm: Humph. I'm going on ahead.
Vyrn: Geez. Cold as ever, isn't she!
Lyria: Haha... Well, let's just keep moving for now.
The crew has finally arrived at the eastern island of the rising sun.
Perhaps somewhere on this mysterious island they'll at last find the fabled primal beast Magus.

Scattering Magic - Chapter 2: Unexplored Land - Episode 1

Despite having safely reached the island, Zehek and Drang both claim to no longer hear Magus's voice. Lyria notices that Mishra has gone missing. The crew splits up to search for her.

The crew cuts along a wild trail, under the shade of towering, moss-covered trees in a massive forest.
Vyrn: I'm glad we made it and all, but where do we go now?
Lyria: Drang, Zehek... Can you still hear Magus?
Drang: Huh? Oh, let me try. Hold on... Just, uh, give me a moment...
Zehek: It's no good. I haven't heard anything since we arrived.
Drang: Samesies! I can't hear anything either... So sorry, guys!
Sturm: Less chatting, more walking. I can barely see what's ahead of us.
Vyrn: What's the hold up, Lyria? You're gonna get left behind!
Lyria: Um... I was thinking we might've lost Mishra...
Zehek: ...!
You're right... She's gone! Have we abandoned her?
Drang: Calm down, Brother! Let us split up and search. We'll find her. Don't worry!
Sturm: Great... We're done for, aren't we.

Scattering Magic - Chapter 2: Unexplored Land - Episode 2

The crew finds Mishra amid the forest, staring up into the canopy. She reveals that she has discovered something miraculous—the plants on the island could be primal species outside of the chain of evolution.

Lyria: Look, there's Mishra!
Shortly after beginning their search, the crew find Mishra looking up into the trees.
Zehek: Pant... Wheeze... Master! Cough...
Mishra: Zehek, what's wrong? Having another episode? Are you okay?
Zehek: N-no, I'm fine! Just out of breath from running back...
Zehek: What are you doing here, anyway!
Mishra: Oh, just investigating this island a little.
Vyrn: You're just on your own schedule, aren't you? We were worried, you know!
Mishra: Hehe... Don't be like that now. I've discovered something quite interesting, actually.
Drang: Oh! And what could that be?
Mishra: Before we get to that, I think your girlfriend has something to say.
Sturm: I'm no one's girlfriend. Stop acting on your own... You're wasting our energy and time.
Mishra: I do apologize for that. My sincerest apologies.
Sturm: Good. Let's go.
Mishra: Now then, I suppose I can walk and talk.
Mishra: From what I can tell, all the flora and fauna on this island seem to be unique to this place.
Mishra: Here, take a look at this plant.
Mishra picks up a moss-like plant from the ground
Mishra: See this? It looks nearly identical to a healing herb I use, but it's not exactly the same.
Mishra: It's hard to say, exactly, but it's like it's maintained a... purer form.
Drang: It's purer, you say?
Mishra: Yes. Like... An ancient species from before our time, you might say.
Drang: So it's really rare, basically? Say, Mishra, would you kindly let me have this one?
Mishra: Of course. I can't make any promises about its potency as medicine, however, so please do be careful.
Drang: Thank you! A great memento of this trip!
Mishra: The more I see, the more this island stands removed from all the ecosystems I've seen on other islands.
Lyria: So basically... This island is an especially unusual place?
Mishra: Yes. I'm sure there are more here like those herbs, their evolution frozen in the past.
Mishra: This is all quite interesting indeed...

Scattering Magic - Chapter 2: Unexplored Land - Episode 3

Based on the herbs she has found, Mishra theorizes that the island has been cut off from the outside world for some time. As the crew continue through the forest, they hear a deafening roar followed by the scream of a young girl. They hurry to the source of the scream and find a girl facing off against monsters alone.

Mishra: And would you look at that? These herbs seem to be of the same biological family but have undergone a unique evolution.
Mishra: It looks like this island has been shut off from the outside world for a relatively long period of time.
Lyria: Umm, so what does that mean?
Drang: You're saying we're basically the first outsiders to show up here, right?
Vyrn: Boy, this day just keeps getting stranger.
Drang: If that's the case, doesn't that mean that we're likely in the right place?
Mishra: Yes. We can't say for sure... But it does seem that way.
Drang: Great! Sounds promising! I want to find Magus right away!
Zehek: Yeah... We've made it this far. I'm not leaving until we unravel the story behind this fabled Magus!
Just then, a deafening roar can be heard ahead of the crew.
Monster: Groooar!
The roar is followed by what sounds like the screams of a young girl.
Vyrn: Hey! That sounded like another person! Let's go, (Captain)!
The crew quickly rushes to the scene and finds a young girl facing off against monsters on her own.
Vyrn: Hey, you there! Need some help?
???: Whoa! More monsters? Oh... A lizard?
Vyrn: I ain't no lizard!
???: What are you supposed to be then? A talking stuffed toy?
Vyrn: H-hey! Do I look like a cuddly toy to you?
Zehek: No time for idle chatter, you two! Monsters are closing in!

Scattering Magic - Chapter 2: Unexplored Land - Episode 4

The girl introduces herself to the crew as Unar, a demonsbane cleric. When she asks what the crew is doing on the island, Zehek speaks of his ailment and the voice that guided him here. After hearing him mention Magus, she decides to take the crew back to her village.

???: Whew! I could've handled 'em on my own, you know.
???: But thanks for helping me out.
Lyria: We're just glad you're safe. So... Um, who are you?
Unar: Oh, right. I'm Unar, a demonsbane cleric. I was just on my way back to my village.
Unar: More importantly, who are you? And how did you reach this island?
Vyrn: We're skyfarers! We came here on our airship, of course!
Unar: On an airship? That's odd. Normally the barrier keeps people out.
Unar: Well, whatever. I guess you're lost then? Outsiders aren't allowed here, so could you just leave again?
Zehek: Wait a second! The voice of Magus called us here.
Unar: ...!
The voice of Magus?
Zehek: That's right. The voice told me to find the eastern island of the rising sun.
Unar: I see... That explains why you came all the way out here. But that can't be the whole story.
Unar: Right. I need to hear more about this. Will you come with me?
Zehek: H-hey! Where are we going?
Zehek: One minute she wants us to leave, the next she wants us to go with her!
Unar: That was before you mentioned Magus! Just follow me. Come on!
Unar: (They don't look like bad people. It should be fine to take them back to the village.)
Drang: Say, miss. Could you perhaps explain it a little more clearly?
Drang: This is the eastern land where the primal beast Magus slumbers, right?
Unar: That's right.
Drang: Bingo! We did it, Brother!
Zehek: Yes, Brother. I knew the voice of Magus was no mere hallucination!
Unar: So... Magus called you here. But for what, exactly?
Zehek: I need Magus's power.
Zehek: I want to be free of the terrible ailment that afflicts me.
Unar: Wait... What is that power?
Zehek: Humph. Looks like more monsters have found us. Very well... Bring it on!

Scattering Magic - Chapter 2: Unexplored Land - Episode 4: Scene 2

Unar takes the crew to her village deep in the forest to introduce them to the village elder, a man named Peuce. There they learn that Zehek's affliction is known as the arcania taint, and that the only way to fully heal him is by sealing Magus away using three ancient artifacts.

Unar leads the crew back to her village, located deep within the forest.
Villager: Unar! We were worried sick. Where have you been?
Unar: A few things happened, but nothing I couldn't handle. Here!
Unar gives the villager the herbs she had been picking.
Villager: Are these...
Unar: Yep. Steep the herbs and have her drink the liquid. She'll be feeling better in no time!
Villager: Thank you so much! I will repay this debt, I promise!
Unar: No need for that. Just go and take care of your daughter.
Villager: Of course! Thank you!
Lyria: You don't have to go with her, Unar?
Unar: Nah, don't worry. I'll pop in on them to see how the medicine's working later.
Unar: I have to take care of you lot first!
All eyes are on Unar and the crew as they head deeper into the village.
Mishra: How interesting. This looks like a village you might find anywhere.
Drang: Aw, so this wasn't an uninhabited island after all?
Unar: Quit your dawdling—if you've got time to talk, you've got time to walk. Come on, let's go!
Unar brings the crew to the home of the village elder.
Unar: Elder Peuce!
Peuce: Unar, what is it? What's all this noise?
Unar: An emergency, that's what! Listen to this...
Unar explains to the village elder how she came to meet (Captain) and the others.
Peuce: I think I understand. But just being led by Magus wouldn't be enough to pass the barrier.
Unar: Well, actually it seems that Zehek here has been infected by the arcania taint.
Peuce: You don't say! So that's how they got through...
Zehek: W-wait! Arcania taint? You know of my ailment?
Mishra: Calm down, Zehek. Let me handle this.
Zehek: M-Master...
Mishra: I am called Mishra. I have observed Zehek's condition for many years.
Peuce: I see.
Mishra: I've been unable to do anything about the disease myself. Can you tell me more about this wild magic?
Peuce begins to explain everything to Mishra.
Peuce: The arcania taint is a rare affliction endemic to this island, the place where Magus has been sealed away for generations.
Zehek: What? So my sickness is related to this island?
Peuce: Most likely. The sickness is the very reason this island has been cut off from the outside world.
Peuce: Yet somehow... you've come from the outside, led by the voice of Magus.
Unar speaks up as the crew quietly listens.
Unar: So this probably means... Magus has started to break free from the seal.
Unar: And is using Zehek for some kind of nefarious purpose?
Peuce: It's possible, perhaps. But I've never heard of such a thing happening before.
Unar: Well, there's a first time for everything, you know!
Unar: That's why... I'm gonna go with them to help seal Magus away!
Peuce: What! But, Unar, are you sure you can trust these people you've only just met?
Unar: Yeah, what about it? You don't trust them?
Peuce: No, I didn't mean...
Unar: These people saved me when I was attacked in the forest, with no regard for their own safety!
Unar: They're the kind of idiots who act selflessly to save others without a single thought for themselves!
Vyrn: Uh, I can't tell if she's praising us or insulting us...
Zehek, who had been carefully listening to Unar and Peuce's discussion, finally breaks his silence.
Zehek: Please! I'll do whatever it takes to find a cure! Just tell me how...
Zehek: And the connection between my sickness and sealing Magus.
Unar explains to Zehek gently, taking note of his panicked expression.
Unar: To tell you the truth, when I was younger I was also infected with the arcania taint, just like you.
Zehek: Were you really?
Unar: The reason I'm still here now is because Elder Peuce took me to Magus.
Unar: As the seal on Magus weakened, Elder Peuce used the magic overflowing from me to strengthen it again.
Unar looks at Peuce affectionately for a moment and carries on.
Unar: The seal of Magus on this island gradually weakens with the passage of time.
Unar: As demonsbane clerics, we must pour our magic into the seal to keep it powerful at all costs.
Mishra: I see... Very well. I think I understand the link between the arcania taint and Magus's seal.
Mishra: But what is Magus, exactly?
Unar: Well... It's very fortunate that we've never actually seen Magus in action.
Unar: But this also means that we have no real first-hand knowledge.
With that said, Unar carefully continues.
Unar: The legends say that Magus can control the laws of magic itself, making the impossible become possible.
Unar: Out of fear of its omniscient, omnipotent powers, this primal beast was sealed here on this island after the War.
Lyria: An all-knowing primal beast that's able to make the impossible become possible...
Unar: That's right. Outside of this island, Magus may be known as merely a legend or folktale.
Unar: But in reality, if Magus were to ever return, the skies would be thrown into chaos.
Vyrn: Yeah... We can't just sit around and let that happen.
Unar: Indeed. That's why we live here and watch over Magus to ensure that the seal isn't broken.
Mishra: So your purpose on this island is to monitor Magus and maintain the seal, you might say.
Unar: Hahaha... Yeah, I guess you could say that.
Zehek: Great. So how do we seal Magus away?
Unar: Sealing Magus requires the three artifacts found on this island.
Unar: There is but one way to control the arcania taint—to let your magic flow into the three artifacts and seal Magus away.
Zehek: And what are these artifacts?
Unar: The Golden Sword, the Sunset Mirror, and the Night Jasmine Orb.
Unar: Disperse your magic throughout these three artifacts, and you'll find your symptoms leave you bit by bit.
Unar: And finally, using the artifacts to release your magic in the temple where Magus is sealed will completely heal you.
Mishra: I see... Very well. I get the gist, but, Zehek, is that what you want?
Zehek: I-I do... I, uh, Unar and I will seal Magus away!
Zehek: Please, (Captain)! Will you help me?
Unar: Yeah, I could use your help too! It looks like Magus has already begun breaking through to the outside world.
Unar: That means the seal must be weakening.
Unar: So what do you say, (Captain)? Will you lend us your aid to seal Magus away?
  1. For Zehek, anything!
  2. For Unar, anything!

Choose: For Zehek, anything!
Zehek: Thank you, (Captain).
Vyrn: Don't worry about it, bud! We don't turn our backs on a friend in need!
Lyria: That's right! Let's all work together to seal Magus away!

Choose: For Unar, anything!
Zehek: (Captain)...
Lyria: Ah! That doesn't mean we wouldn't help if it was only you asking, Zehek!
Lyria: Right, (Captain)? Right?
(Captain) nods earnestly at Lyria's words.
Vyrn: (Captain) sometimes just speaks ahead without thinking, that's all!
Zehek: I-I see! Is that so? I suppose it's fine then... That really hurt for a second though.
Zehek: I'm counting on you, (Captain).
Continue 1
Vyrn: Right! Let's get going!
Lyria: Hold on. What about you two?
Drang: Huh? Us?
Lyria: Well, it seems that in order to heal Zehek's sickness we have to seal away Magus, so...
Drang: Heh. What do you think!
Drang: A man never goes back on his word. I promised to stick with you until you're all better!
Zehek: Brother! I don't think I've ever been happier in my life!
Drang: Yes, Brother! Let us seal Magus away!
Drang: You're coming too, right, Sturm?
Sturm: Humph... I have no objections.
Unar: Great! That settles it!
Unar: I'm going, Elder Peuce, no matter what you say!
Peuce looks pensive for a moment and nods his head, as if accepting defeat.
Peuce: Very well. I, too, am concerned about the seal, of course. If you trust them, I will do so as well.
Unar: Thanks, Grandpa! Uh, I mean, Elder Peuce!
Peuce: Heh... Take care out there.
Vyrn: Don't you worry! We'll keep her safe!
Lyria: We'll take full responsibility for Unar's safety!
Peuce: Thank you, everyone. This won't be an easy task, so take all due care.
Unar: We will! I promise that I'll return safely!
Elder Peuce and Unar share a pinky-promise.
Thus the crew set out on their journey with Unar to seal Magus away.
Their quest to return Magus to its slumber through three ancient sealing artifacts has only just begun.

Scattering Magic - Chapter 3: A Long Journey - Episode 1

Three artifacts need to be collected in order to seal Magus away. Unar suggests that they start with the Golden Sword, as it's located nearest to the village. Zehek thanks Unar for persuading the village elder on his behalf. She asks that he repay the favor by fighting off any nearby monsters—an easy request for Zehek.

In order to fully seal Magus away, the crew must collect three artifacts.
To this end, they follow Unar deep into the forest.
Zehek: So, Unar, how do we go about obtaining these artifacts?
Unar: First, we should go ahead and pick up the Golden Sword, as it's closest to the village.
Unar: Come now! I'll lead the way, so just try to keep up!
Zehek: Hey, Unar.
Unar: Hmm? What's up?
Zehek: Thanks for what you did back there.
Unar: What do you mean?
Zehek: I mean, doing everything you could to persuade Elder Peuce.
Unar: Oh, that... That was nothing.
Zehek: Nothing, you say... Your speech truly touched my heart!
Unar: Yeah, well you don't need to get all mushy about it. I'm concerned about the seal too, after all.
Zehek: Even so, you still weren't obliged to help me out.
Unar: That's true too, I guess. All right, you've made your point already!
Unar: If you really are grateful, show your appreciation by fighting monsters! There's plenty of them around here.
Zehek: Now that's a show of gratitude I can get behind.
Zehek: Uraaargh! Listen up, monsters! My magic will tear you apart!

Scattering Magic - Chapter 3: A Long Journey - Episode 2

Drang asks Unar about how the barrier that protects the island can be crossed, but she isn't especially forthcoming. After explaining that a demonsbane cleric is essential, she asks him a question of her own and learns of his supposed bond with Magus.

Drang: Say, Unar! Can I ask you something?
Unar: Sure, uh... Drang, was it?
Drang: Bingo! I'm so happy you remembered!
Unar: So whatcha want?
Drang: Back in the village, you and old man Peuce were talking about crossing a barrier? What's that all about?
Unar: Why would you wanna know about that?
Drang: Ah, no reason, really! Just my natural curiosity shining through again!
Drang: If I don't understand something, I simply hate to leave it that way, you know.
Unar: Hmm... Not that I've got a problem, but you seem to remember all the little details, don't you?
Drang: I get that all the time, believe me! My memory has always been quite keen!
Unar: Good for you.
Drang: Hahaha, ice cold! So can you tell me anything about this barrier-crossing business?
Unar: Well... As you know, this land is closed off from the rest of the skies by a barrier that keeps Magus hidden.
Drang: Sure, and that's why no one can get in normally.
Unar: Right. The key to getting on and off this island is the magic of demonsbane clerics such as myself.
Drang: I see, so it was thanks to my brother's doing that we could get through.
Unar: Yup, you got it.
Drang: (As I thought, you need special magic to access this island.)
Unar: Now it's my turn to ask you a question.
Drang: Of course. Go ahead!
Unar: I've been wondering, what's with all this "brother" stuff?
Drang: Oh, you mean my brother, Zehek!
Unar: Yes, I've realized who you were talking about, but...
Zehek: What is it, Brother? You called?
Unar: I was just thinking that all this "brother" stuff sounds kinda weird...
Zehek: How can you say that! We're comrades, brought together by fate! Right, Brother?
Drang: That's right! Right on, Brother! We're bound by an unbreakable bond!
Zehek: Under this infinite sky, the voice of Magus brought me and my brother here together. So I'm grateful to Magus, actually!
Unar: Oh? You hear Magus's voice too, do you?
Unar: The seal must be getting really weak.
Drang: Surely! We must hurry to Magus as soon as we can!

Scattering Magic - Chapter 3: A Long Journey - Episode 3

Unar asks Zehek about when he was first struck down by the illness, but he isn't able to recall anything. The crew arrives at the shrine with Drang going ahead. As he draws close, however, the roars of monsters punctuate the air.

The crew make their way through the forest while clearing out foes and monsters along the way.
Unar: Say, Zehek.
Zehek: What?
Unar: Do you remember anything from when you first began feeling symptoms of your sickness?
Zehek: I've tried so hard to remember, but I can't remember a single thing.
Zehek: In fact, I can't even recall anything from before I was afflicted and living with my master.
Unar: I see... I thought maybe you had a connection to this island somehow.
Zehek: I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Unar: No need to apologize! We can sort the details out once you are all better!
Zehek: Thanks.
Zehek: Where is this Golden Sword, anyway?
Unar: A shrine located deep in the forest—we should be there quite soon.
Unar: Oh, there it is! I see it!
The crew arrives at the shrine located deep in the forest.
Guarding the shrine are layers upon layers of barriers and magical talismans.
Vyrn: Well, this certainly looks like the place!
Lyria: Yeah... I'd say it's even a bit unwelcoming.
Unar: Of course it does! We want to keep monsters away, not invite them in!
Zehek: So the Golden Sword is in there?
Mishra: I've never seen the ancient language on these barrier talismans before. Very interesting.
Drang: All right then. Shall we?
Sturm: Hold it, Drang! Be careful here.
As Drang approaches the shrine, monstrous roars can be heard echoing from all directions.
Drang: Can't say I didn't expect this! Everyone ready?
Vyrn: Yep, you know we are! Let's go, (Captain)!

Scattering Magic - Chapter 3: A Long Journey - Episode 4

Zehek picks up a rusty sword in the shrine and repeats an incantation after Unar. The magic within him reacts violently as he hears Magus's voice calling for him once again. The crew members are suddenly engulfed by a brilliant light, and they find themselves in a seemingly infinite multidimensional space. Before fully grasping the situation, they face off against a mysterious being that appears before them.

Unar: Okay, monsters have been taken care of... Let's go, Zehek!
Zehek: Yes... We just need to remove these talismans, right?
Zehek strips away the talismans creating the barriers and makes his way into the shrine.
A single, rusty-looking sword rests on a dais in the heart of the shrine.
Zehek: This is the Golden Sword? For something supposedly golden, it's quite... rusty.
Unar: All right, Zehek! Take it with your hands!
Attempting to conceal his trembling hands from the others, Zehek quickly snatches up the sword.
Unar: You ready?
Zehek: Just tell me what to do.
Unar: Repeat this spell after me: Ell-Fan-Dard! O mighty blade, cut through my magic!
Zehek: Got it. Here goes!
Zehek: Ell-Fan-Dard! O mighty blade, cut through my magic!
Zehek's inner magic instantly responds violently to the blade.
Zehek: Ugah! Gaaaah!
Unar: Whoa! Zehek, are you okay?
Zehek: I think... so...
The rusty sword Zehek grips in his hands begins to quickly regain its golden luster and sparkle.
A mysterious voice rings out in Zehek's head.
Mysterious Voice: Ancient... one...
Zehek: Magus!
Unar: What's happening, Zehek?
Zehek: I heard Magus's voice and saw a hallucination of sorts in my head.
Unar: Some sort of vision... What could it mean?
Zehek: Right, Brother? You heard it too, didn't you?
Drang: S-sure did! I definitely heard it! The voice of Magus!
Vyrn: We didn't feel anything at all...
Unar: I'm not sure, but I get the feeling that Magus might have noticed we're trying to renew the seal.
Unar: Anyway, we've made some progress!
Mishra: Zehek's magic clearly responded to the sword.
Drang: Too cool, Brother! You're like a chosen hero!
Zehek: It's truly mysterious... It's as if my magic and this sword are completely in tune with each other.
Lyria: How's your body feeling, Zehek?
Zehek: No pain, no problems. I feel better!
Vyrn: Great! Looks like we'll be able to beat this sickness after all!
Unar: Of course we will! Let's hurry on to the next artifact!
As the crew celebrate this milestone in their quest, the ground beneath them begins to tremble violently.
Sturm: This doesn't look good. Outside, quick!
Drang: Okay! You heard the lady. After Sturm, everybody!
(Captain) and the others barely escape from the shrine with their lives.
Unar: Are we all here? Anyone left behind?
Zehek: Nope! All accounted for!
Lyria: Wait! Hold on, everyone!
Lyria: I sense... a primal beast!
Zehek: Guh... It's back... My head is pounding!
Mysterious Voice: Allow me to... test your power...
In an instant, the world around the crew begins to distort and change as they are engulfed by a brilliant light.
The crew find themselves in a strange, seemingly infinite multidimensional space.
Zehek: Damn! Where are we now?
Zehek: Is everyone okay?
Unar: Yeah! I am, anyway. Where are the others?
Lyria: Zehek! Unar! Over here!
Vyrn: Man, this quest just keeps going further off the rails!
Drang: Hahaha! Say, where do you think this is, Sturm?
Sturm: Humph. Let's just get out of here.
Mishra: I agree with the sentiment, but the means of doing so may not be so easy to ascertain.
As the crew struggle to make sense of their situation, a mysterious being appears before them.
???: Not a sliver of light... Total darkness...
???: No passage of time... Absolute void...
Lyria: I-it's a primal beast!
Unar: You... Are you Magus?
Vyrn: W-wait, are you serious?
???: Ancient one...
???: Come... Show me...
Zehek: Very well. I'll show you what I've got. Come on, (Captain)!

Scattering Magic - Chapter 3: A Long Journey - Episode 4: Scene 2

The crew manage to hold off the mysterious primal beast before suddenly finding themselves at the shrine once again. Unable to think their way to an answer, they continue their quest to find the remaining artifacts.

???: I see... Very good...
Zehek: Hey! Are you supposed to be Magus? What do you want from me?
???: We shall... meet again...
The world suddenly twists again, and a brilliant light envelops the crew.
The next thing they hear is the calling of birds.
Opening their eyes, they find themselves back outside the shrine.
Unar: W-we made it back...
Vyrn: H-hey, Unar! What just happened back there?
Unar: H-how would I know? I've never even seen anything like that before!
Zehek: I know what it was. Magus wants me.
Lyria: You may be right. That primal beast was totally focused on you.
Lyria: But something felt off... Almost like its power wasn't fully revealed yet.
Mishra: Hmm... I don't think Magus has fully recovered all of its power yet.
Drang: So basically, with the seal weakening, Magus is trying to stop us from putting it back?
Sturm: Has the seal weakened so much already?
Unar: I don't know. I've never heard of such a thing happening before.
Zehek: Standing around here talking about it won't help us, anyway. Let's keep moving, Unar!
Unar: Yes... Good idea.
Zehek: Huh? What's wrong? Is there something stuck to my face?
Unar: No. I'm just impressed by how in control you suddenly seem!
Lyria: Me too. You were so cool back there, Zehek!
Zehek: Th-thanks, it was nothing. Come on now, lead the way!
Drang: Oh my! Your face is all red, Brother!
Zehek: Oh, come on! Not you too, Brother... Ouch! Oof...
Vyrn: Hey, you all right there, Zehek?
Zehek: No need for concern! Just some mild pain.
Zehek: Come on now, Unar, let's go!
Unar: W-wait! You're going the wrong way!
The mysterious primal beast appears before the crew displaying incredible power, only to depart once again.
Unable to think their way to an answer, the crew hurry onward to collect the remaining artifacts to seal Magus away.

Scattering Magic - Chapter 4: The Second Collaborator - Episode 1

The crew has obtained one of the sealing artifacts, the Golden Sword. Mishra shows great interest in the ancient language on talismans as they proceed toward the mountains for the next artifact, the Sunset Mirror. However, Unar reveals that she'll need the help of another demonsbane cleric who resides in a nearby village in order to find it.

Upon obtaining the first sealing artifact, a mysterious primal beast appeared before the crew.
Amid growing anxiety, they hurry to collect the remaining artifacts to seal Magus away.
Zehek: Unar! Where do we look for the next one?
Unar: In the mountains beyond this forest! We need to find the Sunset Mirror!
Vyrn: Right! Let's get to work, (Captain)!
Mishra: Hmm. The ancient language on these talismans really is interesting.
Drang: Mishra! Come on, we're leaving!
Mishra: I'll be right there!
Sturm: ...
Mishra: Yes? Is there something on my face?
Mishra: Ah! I know! You want the secret to my beauty!
Sturm: No. You go on ahead. I'll be watching to make sure you don't get left behind.
Mishra: Ohoho! Not a bad idea, actually.
Mishra: I'll be counting on you to keep me in line.
Sturm: Humph... Just get going.
Vyrn: So, uh, where is this Sunset Mirror then? Lemme guess—another shrine?
Unar: That's right. A shrine somewhere on this mountain.
Unar: But first, we'll need to stop by a village along the way and get the aid of another sealer.
Zehek: What? You need someone else's help?
Unar: Yes. I don't know where the shrine is or the spell of sealing.
Unar: Besides, we'll need all the help we can get when sealing away Magus.
Lyria: I see... Do you think that person will help us?
Unar: I should think so. He's not a bad fellow.
Zehek: This mountain sure is steep though... Cough, ahem...
Unar: Um, you okay, buddy?
Zehek: Yeah... No need to worry. That battle just took it out of me a little.
Zehek: Now then! Let's keep moving!
Unar: You got it! Let's keep our spirits up!

Scattering Magic - Chapter 4: The Second Collaborator - Episode 2

(Captain) and the crew are impressed at Unar's competence as a leader despite her young age. She tells them it's all thanks to Elder Peuce and reveals that he isn't actually her grandfather. After hearing stories of Zehek's childhood from Mishra, Unar vows again to heal Zehek, envisioning the days ahead after his sickness has been healed.

Led by Unar, the crew continues up the steep mountain path.
Unar: Lyria! (Captain)! This way!
Lyria: Okay, Unar! We're right behind you!
Drang: Wow... She's just a ball of energy, isn't she?
Lyria: Yeah, she's really incredible!
Zehek: Lyria, what's gotten into you all of a sudden?
Lyria: I don't know... I'm just impressed by how she's been so positive this whole time.
Zehek: True. She's still a small girl, but she's shouldered such responsibility.
Unar: Watch it, Zehek! I'm not that small!
Zehek: Heh-heh...
Unar: I'm known here as the great demonsbane cleric Unar, I'll have you know!
Lyria: That's right! The villagers clearly all look up to you!
Unar: Hehehe... You think so?
Mishra: Yes. It was most impressive.
Unar: That's all thanks to Gramp—I mean, er, Elder Peuce.
Zehek: Hehe, are you embarrassed to call him grandfather in front of others?
Unar: Ah... Not exactly. Elder Peuce isn't actually my grandfather.
Zehek: Oh... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to pry.
Unar: No worries! I'm very happy with my life now!
Zehek: You've gone through your share of hardships, haven't you...
Unar: Ah, enough of that already! That's not it... Don't get all mushy on me again. I don't need your sympathy!
Zehek: Ah, my apologies... I didn't mean to sound condescending.
Zehek: I've suffered from this sickness since I was just a child myself, so I got a bit sentimental.
Unar: Oh, yeah... You haven't had it easy, I bet.
Mishra: Indeed. You should've seen him as a boy. Such a crybaby!
Zehek: Guh... Master, please... There's no need to share those stories!
Unar: There's absolutely every need to! Hit me with the details, Mishra!
Mishra: Okay, listen carefully now. This happened when Zehek was about your age...
Zehek: Urk... I'm going on ahead!
Mishra: And what do you think Zehek said?
Mishra: "I still can't go the toilet alone!" He was crying but sounded so stubborn too!
Unar: Ahahaha! Of course he did.
Unar: He must have been such a cute child.
Unar listens attentively to every word of Mishra's stories of Zehek's childhood.
Unar: Hey, Zehek!
Zehek: ...
Unar: Zehek! Don't ignore me!
Zehek: You've just come to laugh at me, haven't you?
Unar: No. Don't get all depressed again.
Zehek: So what do you want?
Unar: About your illness...
Zehek: Humph... So that's what you've come to mock me for.
Unar: I would never! I had the same sickness as you, remember?
Zehek: O-oh, right... Of course.
Unar: You're quite the downer, aren't you?
Unar: But don't worry! I'm going to heal you. You'll see.
Zehek: Th-thanks...
Unar: All you need to do now is imagine what you're going to do once you're healed!
Zehek: Right. Once I'm healed, I think I'd like to have a peaceful stroll outside and really just take in the scenery...
Zehek: I just want to live a normal life in a healthy body.
Unar: A stroll outside? I know just the spot. I'll take you there myself!
Unar: Rolling fields of green as far as your eyes can see! When the wind blows across the grass just right... There's nothing quite like it.
Zehek: Wow. That does sound nice. I'd love to see it.
Unar: Leave it to me! I promise to take you there once this is all over.
Zehek: Unar... Thank you. I...
Unar: Ah! Look, the village! Lyria! (Captain)! Let's get a move on!
Zehek: Hey! Don't ignore me!
Vyrn: Never a dull moment watching those two.
Lyria: Ahaha... It looks like Zehek and Unar are becoming fast friends.
Unar: Less chatting, more moving! We'll want to get there before the sun sets!

Scattering Magic - Chapter 4: The Second Collaborator - Episode 3

The crew arrives at a village in the mountains and meets with Tress, the second demonsbane cleric. Although reluctant at first, he agrees to take them to the shrine after hearing Unar's story. She explains to the crew that there is a demonsbane cleric for each of the artifacts needed to seal Magus before proceeding toward the shrine.

The crew follows Unar to a village secluded in the mountains.
Upon arriving in the village, Unar leads them to a small house.
Unar: Tress! You home? If you're here, say something!
Tress: That voice... Unar?
Unar: Heh-heh, that's right! Here I am!
Tress: My house isn't that big... No need for you to shout so loudly.
Tress: Oh? Who are these people?
Lyria: Hello!
Unar: Uh, this may take a while...
Unar explains to Tress how she encountered the crew and the purpose of their journey.
Tress: So they're going to help you seal Magus away?
Tress: As the guardian of one of the sealing artifacts, I'm going to need a little more information than that.
Unar: Like I said! Magus's seal is weakening! This is a big deal! Don't you understand?
Unar: Oh, that's right! Right in front of the Golden Shrine, we came into contact with Magus!
Tress: You what! Magus was there?
Zehek: Yeah... We're still not sure what it wanted, but it seemed to be after my power.
Tress: I see. That's troubling, certainly.
Unar: What do you say, Tress? Will you help us?
Tress: All right, all right... I'll help you, so just calm down already.
Tress: Phew... Just let me get some things together and I'll be right with you.
Unar: You will? Yay! That's great!
Although reluctant at first, Tress can't compete with Unar's tenacity and starts preparing for the journey.
Tress: Sorry to keep you waiting.
Unar: Tress! Thanks for this!
Tress: No thanks required. I'm merely doing my duty.
Tress: Follow me to the shrine where the Sunset Mirror lies.
Vyrn: By the way! So Tress is the protector of the Sunset Mirror, right?
Vyrn: Does that mean that someone else is guarding the third artifact?
Tress: Yes, that is correct.
Unar: Each of the sealing artifacts has their own demonsbane cleric protecting it!
Zehek: Don't you think we might have needed to hear something that important before now?
Unar: Sorry! Did I forget to explain that part?
Unar: Well, it doesn't matter anyway. We still have to collect them each one at a time!
Lyria: Ahaha... Good point.
Vyrn: Hm. No harm, no foul, I guess!
Vyrn: Come on then, Tress! Lead the way!
Tress: Yeah... There are monsters in the area though, so keep your wits about you.

Scattering Magic - Chapter 4: The Second Collaborator - Episode 4

The crew finally arrives at a waterfall concealing the location of the shrine. They break through the barriers protecting the shrine and approach the Sunset Mirror before being attacked by the monsters lurking within. Upon defeating the monsters, Zehek takes the mirror and restores it to its former glory using his magic. However, the shrine immediately begins to collapse, and (Captain) and the crew are barely able to escape with their lives.

Tress: From here it's only a little further until we reach the Sunset Mirror's shrine.
Zehek: Pant... Wheeze... I'm not much of a mountain man, I'm afraid.
Unar: Hey... You're really heaving there, Zehek. Are you okay?
Zehek: Yeah... No need.... to worry.
Unar: Easy for you to say! You look awful!
Tress: Put your back into it, young man! Just a little more legwork!
Zehek: Huff... Wheeze... Just a little more...
Tress: There! Look past that waterfall and you'll see the shrine!
The entrance to the shrine is covered with barrier talismans.
Vyrn: Just like the first one, there are barriers here too!
Tress: Come then, Zehek... Can you take care of this?
Zehek: Huff... Puff... No problem. I just need to rip these off, right?
Zehek tears off the talismans creating the barriers. The crew is now able to enter the shrine concealed behind a waterfall.
On the dais in the damp shrine sits a clouded mirror.
Zehek: So this is the second sealing artifact... The Sunset Mirror.
Tress: Yes. It's been enshrined here for many years.
Unar: Go ahead! Get your hands on it!
Zehek: Here goes nothing...
Zehek reaches out and takes the clouded mirror from the dais.
Tress: You know what to do, right?
Zehek: Yeah...
Zehek: Actually, hold on! Teach me again.
Unar: Are you sure you can do this, Zehek?
Zehek: I'm fine. Just a little nervous.
Tress: Calm yourself, Zehek. We're all here with you.
Zehek: Thank you. Tell me what to do.
Tress: Repeat the following spell after me. "Ihris-Hali-Kalus! O gleaming mirror, shine with my magic!"
Zehek takes a breath and then repeats the spell.
Zehek: Ihris-Hali-Kalus! O gleaming mirror, shine with my magic!
In the next instant, the mirror reacts to his magic, illuminating the shrine in a brilliant light.
Zehek: Ugh... Gwaaagh!
Unar: Zehek... Don't overdo it!
Zehek: Stay back! It's... It's fine.
The clouded mirror in his hands regains its clear sparkle.
At that moment, Magus's voice rings through his head once again.
Mysterious Voice: Do not... defy me...
Zehek: ...!
You again!
Unar: What's wrong?
Zehek: I heard Magus again... and saw something.
Suddenly, the ground starts to shake once again.
Tress: ...!
Unar: Geez, not again! This happened when we got the first artifact too!
Tress: Explain later! Now, run!
Sturm: Tch... Hurry, this way!
Vyrn: C'mon, guys! We're outta here!
Nothing more needs to be said as the crew makes a mad dash for the entrance.
The crumbling shrine finally collapses in on itself just as they make it outside.
Mishra: Phew! It doesn't get much closer than that.
Tress: Indeed. Sorry for putting your lives in such danger.
Tress: I never expected that the shrine would collapse... I suppose it's been exposed to the elements for too long.
Mishra: No, I don't think that's it. It would take more than that to cause this.
Mishra: Not to mention the sudden tremors—it feels like there's something much bigger in action.
Tress: What do you mean? Are you saying Magus is responsible?
Mishra: I can't say for sure... At least for now.
Mishra: (After all, Magus didn't appear before us this time. So what does it all mean?)
Unar: Hey! Everybody still in one piece?
Lyria: Yes! I think we're all okay!
Zehek: I've got the sword and mirror too.
Unar: Great. Two down, one to go!
Zehek: Yeah, we're almost there! Let's carry on!
The crew has finally obtained the second of the three artifacts, the Sunset Mirror.
With one last artifact left to find, the Night Jasmine Orb, they hurry on to their next objective.

Scattering Magic - Chapter 5: An Ordeal of Seals - Episode 1

(Captain) and the crew prepare to find the last of the ancient artifacts, the Night Jasmine Orb. The orb is in a cave next to where Magus slumbers. They head toward another village in order to recruit the aid of the third demonsbane cleric named Doss, a youth about the same age as Zehek.

The crew traverses through the mountains, coming out onto an open field.
Zehek: So, Unar... Where exactly is this Night Jasmine Orb?
Unar: The last artifact, the Night Jasmine Orb, is in a cave next to where Magus slumbers.
Vyrn: Oh boy... Sounds like it's almost time for the moment of truth.
Lyria: And will another demonsbane cleric be joining us?
Tress: Yeah... We're heading to his village now.
Zehek: What kind of person is this demonsbane cleric?
Tress: He's a young fellow named Doss. About the same age as you.
Vyrn: Whoa... This time it's a youngin', huh?
Lyria: Hehe... I wonder what kind of person he is...
Unar: He's a serious young man, I guess you'd say. Right, Tress?
Tress: You'll see soon enough. There's the village.
Tress: No need to talk about the fellow when you can meet him in person!
Unar: Good point. Right, everyone! Almost there!

Scattering Magic - Chapter 5: An Ordeal of Seals - Episode 2

(Captain) and the crew pay a visit to Doss's house but discover it deserted along with the rest of the village. Tress indicates that there is no need to find Doss for now, since he himself has already learned the location of the artifact as well as its spell.

The party arrives at the village where Doss lives.
However, there are no villagers anywhere to be seen.
Sturm: Quiet, isn't it. I can't hear a single sound.
Drang: Yeah... You think they've all gone on a trip somewhere?
Mishra: I would hope that's the case... Would there really be no one left at all, though?
Tress: No. It's normally a much more lively place.
Zehek: Which means that something must have happened here...
Unar: Doss! If you're here, say something!
Tress: Unar, be careful!
The crew pays a visit to Doss's house but finds it deserted just like the rest of the village.
They split up to search around the village but are unable to find a single person.
Tress: I don't understand... We haven't been able to find any clues as to their whereabouts.
Lyria: Could this be the work of Magus?
Zehek: Do you think... it used its powers to make all the villagers vanish?
Mishra: If that were the case, why would Magus target the villagers instead of us?
Vyrn: Yeah, that would make more sense.
Zehek: Gah! We won't work it out standing around here! Unar! Let's just hurry to the last artifact!
Unar: H-hold on! Without Doss, we won't be able to know where the artifact is or the spell to unlock it!
Tress: That's not a problem. For just a situation such as this one...
Tress: I learned all their locations and the respective spells to unlock them.
Unar: What? No way! You did?
Tress: Hah! How much longer than you pups do you think I've been alive? Don't underestimate the wisdom of your elders!
Vyrn: Nice one, Tress! All those wrinkles have paid off!
Zehek: Unar, what do you think we should do?
Unar: All right... I'm still worried about Doss.
Unar: But there's no point in staying here! Let's go and look for the Night Jasmine Orb ourselves!

Scattering Magic - Chapter 5: An Ordeal of Seals - Episode 3

The crew leaves the village, following Tress to the cave holding the Night Jasmine Orb. Despite their concerns for his safety, they traverse deeper into the cave. A horde of monsters attacks the crew on the way to the shrine, but with the aid of Sturm and Drang's unique dynamic along with Mishra's magic, Zehek and the crew wipe the monsters out.

The crew leaves the village behind and heads into the cave containing the Night Jasmine Orb.
Unar: All that's left to do is get the Night Jasmine Orb!
Zehek: Finally, the last of the artifacts.
Tress: That's right! Follow me!
Unar: Tress! Be careful not to hurt yourself now!
Tress: Hah! No need to worry about me. There are plenty of monsters in here though, so watch out for yourselves!
Tress: There's the shrine, everyone!
As they approach the shrine, a horde of monsters quickly surrounds the crew.
Vyrn: Heh-heh... At least we can always count on monsters showing up at these shrines, huh? Watch out, (Captain)!
Mishra: Let's see how they like some of this!
Drang: Come on, Sturm! Let's crack some monster skulls too, shall we?
Sturm: Drang! Don't move!
Drang: Wh-what's wrong? You're making quite a scary face...
Sturm: Hah!
Sturm's sword strikes down a monster behind Drang.
Drang: Phew! You saved me, Sturm!
Sturm: Humph. Stop gawking and start defending yourself!
Sturm: ...!
Mishra: Hyaaah!
Mishra unleashes a magical shockwave, annihilating the monsters about to attack Sturm.
Mishra: My dear Sturm. Losing your focus in battle can get you killed!
Sturm: Tch... That wouldn't have happened if I'd just let Drang eat it.
Drang: Oh, Sturm! How could you be so cold! You wound me with those words!
Mishra: You two really are quite the pair, aren't you?
Sturm: Either way, you saved us. Thanks.
Mishra: We're all in this together. Come on, there's still plenty more of them!
Unar: Phew. Looks like things are okay over there.
Zehek: Haaah!
Zehek unleashes dark lightning from his left arm, reducing yet more monsters to ash.
Unar: You need any help there, Zehek?
Zehek: Don't worry, I've got this. It feels good to unleash my magic.
Zehek: Unar! (Captain)! Let's rout the rest of these monsters!

Scattering Magic - Chapter 5: An Ordeal of Seals - Episode 4

(Captain) and the crew finally make it to the shrine holding the final artifact, the Night Jasmine Orb. After Zehek recites the spell, the mysterious voice calls to him once again as the ground beneath begins to tremble. Without a third cleric, (Captain) and the crew have no way to complete the sealing, or so they believe. Zehek suggests that he act as the third cleric himself, and they attempt to seal Magus away again together.

(Captain) and the others wipe out the monsters surrounding them.
Zehek strips away the barrier talismans at the shrine entrance and proceeds inside.
Unar: We're finally here.
Zehek: Unar. Thanks for everything.
Unar: Dummy. We haven't sealed Magus away yet.
The party gather around the dais inside, where a begrimed orb is enshrined.
Zehek: Well, here goes.
Unar: Yes... For the final time.
Zehek takes up the orb without hesitation.
Tress: You know what to do by now, right?
Zehek: Heh... Leave it to me!
Tress: Listen up! "Kushuna-Badda-Natel! O scented orb, gather my magic!"
Zehek: Kushuna-Badda-Natel! O scented orb, gather my magic!
In the following instant, the orb responds to his magic, filling the vicinity with a soft light.
Zehek: Guh... Gwaaagh!
Unar: Zehek!
Zehek: Graugh... Don't worry!
The orb in Zehek's hands begins to glow harshly, pushing out the darkness.
The mysterious voice rings through Zehek's head once more.
Mysterious Voice: You resist me... to the end... then...
Zehek: Silence! I've no intention of listening to you any longer!
Mishra: Calm yourself, Zehek. Just what are you seeing?
Zehek: Huff... Puff... Just another hallucination, Master.
Zehek: Now we just need to get the three artifacts and Magus will... Urgh...
Unar: Zehek! You can barely walk!
Zehek: It's fine. I may have gone... a little overboard with my magic.
Unar: Maybe we should rest a little?
Suddenly, powerful tremors shake the vicinity again.
Zehek: Guh... More tremors? We've no time to lose! Everyone, let's hurry to Magus!
Mishra: Zehek, wait up!
Tress: Come on. Magus's temple is somewhere deep in this cave.
The crew enters the temple where Magus is sealed away.
Inside they find themselves in an otherworldly space overflowing with a malicious force of energy.
Lyria: Wh-what incredible power!
Vyrn: Wow! Even I can feel the magic all across my skin!
Unar: Guh... The power of the seal is definitely weakening.
Tress: Yes. There's something very wrong here.
Mishra: Well then. How do we go about sealing Magus away?
Tress: Look. There are three pedestals around that magic circle in the center of the temple.
Unar: We need to place the three artifacts on these pedestals and initiate the first phase of the sealing!
Tress: Then Zehek will unleash his magic on the activated circle and the seal will be complete.
Unar: These two powerful barriers will hold Magus in check and cure your sickness, Zehek!
Zehek: Sounds good. Let's activate this sealing ritual and finally put things right!
Mishra: (This feels wrong... There's definitely something else going on that we aren't seeing here.)
Unar: Okay. Just take it easy for now and leave the first stage to me.
However, as soon as the words leave her mouth, Unar suddenly comes to a realization.
Unar: Oh! Doss!
Drang: Oh, that's right! We're still one cleric short!
Unar: Of course... Doss still isn't here.
Tress: Yes...
Unar: Yes... Is that all you can say? You should've said something sooner!
Tress: It's not something that talking could resolve, now is it?
Unar: That's true, but Zehek has made it all the way here! We have to do something!
Mishra: (We came all this way, just to fail? That can't be the end of this)
Vyrn: Hold it. Is there really no other way?
Lyria: I'll check on Magus!
Lyria: ...!
Vyrn: Lyria! Are you okay?
Lyria: Huff... Puff... It felt like I was being dragged to the other side... It felt awful.
Vyrn: What happened?
Lyria: I don't know, but it was so cold... So terrifying...
Lyria: I do know that the seal on this temple is definitely weakening, however.
The atmosphere is heavy as the crew stands before magus, with no idea or way to complete the sealing.
Attempting to break the tension and silence in the room, Drang is first to speak up.
Drang: What if we just went ahead and defeated Magus? Wouldn't that settle this?
Unar: Don't be silly. If we were to hit it the wrong way, the seal could break completely!
Unar: And what about Zehek's sickness?
Drang: Hahaha, I was only joking! No need to get angry!
Zehek is next to speak up, obviously having been mulling over an idea but unsure how to broach it.
Zehek: Do you think... I could be the third cleric?
Unar: What? You, Zehek?
Unar: If you used any more of your magic, who knows what could happen?
Zehek: Yeah... I know it sounds like I'm being careless, but my magic is unlimited.
Zehek: Please. This is to cure my own sickness, of course...
Zehek: But I also want to thank you for all the help you've given me.
Drang: Okay... Now it's starting to sound like a plan!
Drang: My brother's magic is the same as yours, right?
Sturm: There's no guarantee that it'll work though.
Tress: But it is still worth trying.
Unar: And what if something happens to Zehek?
Zehek: Please... Unar, Tress. Let me try this!
No one can voice an objection when faced with Zehek's conviction.
Unar urges Zehek to promise he will stop if he feels any danger to himself.
Once he does, Unar agrees to allow Zehek to participate in the sealing ceremony.
Unar, Tress, and Zehek each stand at each of the pedestals around the magic circle.
Tress: Are you both ready?
Unar: Yes... We're ready.
Zehek: You don't sound all that ready, Unar. What's wrong?
Unar: Nothing! I'm just a bit nervous!
Zehek: Ah, that's better. Back to normal!
Unar: Dummy. You worry about yourself, not me.
Tress: Let's get started then. You first, Unar.
Unar: Okay!
Unar grips the Golden Sword with trembling hands and carefully places it on the pedestal.
Taking a deep breath and steadying herself, she pours her magic into the sword in front of her.
Tress: Now it's my turn. Here goes!
Tress's hands are calm as he places the Sunset Mirror on the pedestal.
Tress keeps an eye on Unar, who is still holding her magic steady, and focuses his own magic into the Sunset Mirror.
Tress: Last up is Zehek... It's your turn.
Zehek: Yeah... I've got this!
Without another word, Zehek takes one more look at both of the other clerics as they continue to expel their magic.
With firm resolve in his chest, Zehek places the Night Jasmine Orb on the pedestal.
He closes his eyes, focusing his magic into the orb.
Zehek: Haaargh!
In the next instant, the three artifacts all respond violently.
Columns of light begin to pour into the magic circle from each of the pedestals.
Unar: ...!
What incredible power!
Tress: Guh...
Zehek: Well? Is it working?
Before the crew are able to confirm anything further, a brilliant light envelops them once again.

Scattering Magic - Chapter 6: He Who Scattered Evil - Episode 1

When the light settles, a youth introduces himself as Doss before the crew and reveals that this had all been a trap he set to resurrect Magus, a primal beast consisting of Unar, Tress, and Doss together. Sturm and Drang approach Magus to offer a partnership but are denied as Magus forces them to turn their weapons on (Captain) and the others.

Once the light fades, the crew see a single youth standing before them.
???: Ah... It's nice to finally meet you all.
Unar: Doss! What are you doing here?
Doss: What do you mean, what? What do you think?
Doss: Ah, of course. You're making fun of me. A little joke, is it?
Unar: Doss... What are you talking about?
Doss: Hmm? Oh dear, don't tell me you've really forgotten? Tress, you too?
Tress: Master Doss. I'm so pleased to see you well.
Doss: Phew, thank goodness for that. If you'd forgotten everything as well, Tress, this could have been really awkward!
Mishra: Oh... It looks like we've walked right into this one.
Mishra: Haaah!
Mishra summons all of her power and launches a beam of pure magic at Doss.
However, Doss easily deflects the beam.
Doss: Hahaha! What a rude way to say hello!
Zehek: M-Master! What are you...
Mishra: Don't just stand there! We need to attack! Now, before it's too late!
Lyria: M-Mishra?
Vyrn: H-hey, cool it! Can you let us in on what's going on first?
Zehek: Unar... What's the meaning of this?
Zehek: I thought we were sealing Magus, but now this Doss guy appears?
Doss: Ah, my savior! You have my deepest thanks for breaking my seal.
Zehek: What? I didn't break anything!
Doss: I am Magus... The one who sleeps... In a distant land...
Zehek: ...!
That voice... It's you!
Doss: You've really done me a great service. I'm finally free from that accursed seal!
Doss: I can't wait to start having some fun in this world. It's going to be just delightful!
Zehek: Sh-shut it! Just who are you supposed to be?
Magus Doss: My name is Magus Doss.
Magus Doss: That's right. Magus—an ancient legacy, slumbering in the east.
Lyria: A... A primal beast!
Mishra: Ngh... Such incredible power!
Zehek: This is... the hallucination I've been seeing.
Vyrn: What's going on? That kid's supposed to be Magus?
Magus Doss: In the flesh. Sorry for surprising you like this. As a reward for breaking the seal, I'm going to let you all go.
Magus Doss: Come on then, Tress, Unar.
Magus Tress: Ah...
Unar: Ugh... My body... won't respond...
Magus Doss: Hahaha! You still don't get it, do you, Unar? Your body is over here—with me.
Zehek: Stop! Get your hands off her!
Zehek: Curse it all... What's going on...
Vyrn: Tell me about it! We were supposed to be sealing Magus, but brought it back instead?
Vyrn: So were Unar and Tress just tricking us all along?
Mishra: That's right... We've been used.
Lyria: But... What about Unar?
Vyrn: Yeah... I want to believe in her.
Vyrn: But there was something behind her, just like the other two!
Lyria: Yes, I saw it. I felt three sources of power for the primal beast Magus too.
Mishra: Hm... So the primal beast Magus consists of three parts—each of which is independently aware?
Lyria: I don't think so... It seems like Doss was in control of Magus's consciousness.
Zehek: Really? So maybe Unar is just being controlled by him!
Mishra: In any case, without a better understanding of Magus we can't risk getting too close.
Zehek: Yes we can! What good will standing around here do? I'm going—alone if I must!
Mishra: Wait, Zehek! We just need to think for a moment!
Zehek: ...!
Yes, Master... Of course.
Drang: (Psst, Sturm! Does this mean that Magus has been revived?)
Sturm: (Yes. It looks that way.)
Drang: (So we were just kinda tagging along, but look at this! Pay out!)
Drang: (If we can take back Magus's power, like we were hired to do, we'll be rich beyond our wildest dreams!)
Sturm: (Idiot... Don't get ahead of yourself. Capturing an awakened primal beast won't be easy.)
Drang: (Yeah... But we can't just run away now, can we?)
Sturm and Drang take the opportunity to slip away from the crew unnoticed.
(Captain) and the others consider how they will deal with Magus.
While the others are busy debating, Sturm and Drang directly approach Magus themselves.
Sturm: (Are you sure about this, Drang?)
Drang: (It's fine... Just watch me!)
Drang: Okay! Magus... All three of you!
Unar: Drang!
Magus Doss: Ah... You two were with the others as well, weren't you?
Sturm: Yes. But we're not their comrades.
Unar: Sturm! What do you mean?
Drang: Unar, I'm sorry! We've got our own reasons for being here!
Drang: And for those reasons, we wish to work together with you... three.
Magus Doss: Oh? Please explain. It seems a bit foolish after I promised to let you go.
Drang: We happen to have a strong connection to a certain military in a certain country, you see...
Drang: This country would very much like your cooperation.
Magus Doss: What? A military, you say?
Drang: After all, you've been sleeping on this distant island for years, right?
Drang: I don't know exactly what you're after...
Drang: But I think you'll have an easier time of it if you join forces with us.
Magus Doss: Join forces? Interesting.
Sturm: Really?
Drang: Yay! This makes us allies! I'm looking forward to your company.
Unar: No! Drang, you wanted to seal Magus away, right?
Drang: Sorry, not quite! I've no interest in sealing Magus.
Unar: But you were going to help heal Zehek?
Unar: You heard Magus' voice, just like him! Aren't you comrades?
Drang: Ah, whoopsies! That may have been just a little trickery on my part. Lies, all lies!
The rest of the crew arrives in front of Magus shortly after Sturm and Drang.
Zehek: Brother...
Drang: Oh no, Brother! What's with the scary face?
Zehek: Lies, you said... All lies?
Drang: Oh dear, you heard that? Brother, I'm sorry for lying my heart out!
Zehek: Come on... Surely you jest. Brother?
Drang: Saying that I'd help you seal Magus to heal you...
Drang: Oh! And pretending to hear Magus! That was quite fun, but they were all lies.
Zehek: What! It can't be, Brother...
Drang: Alas, it is, Brother! Ah, it feels good to tell the truth at last!
Mishra: Sturm...
Sturm: Sorry. We needed you to get close to Magus.
Magus Doss: Interesting... This is all very, very interesting.
Magus Doss: You... You're called Drang... Is that right?
Drang: That's me! Thanks for remembering! What should I call you, Magus? All three of you?
Magus Doss: You have no idea how we were used during the War, do you?
Magus Doss: And now you just want to use us again!
Drang: Hahaha! Use? Please, this is a collaboration!
Magus Doss: Heh-heh... Enough. This time you'll be the ones to be used.
Drang: (Sturm! This looks bad! Get ready to run!)
Sturm: (What?)
Magus Doss: Tress?
Magus Tress: Haaah!
With Tress's outburst, a bright light envelops both Sturm and Drang.
Sturm: I can't... move...
Drang: Neither... can I!
Mishra: ...!
That was the same light we saw at the first shrine!
Magus Doss: Oh, well spotted! I used this power to give you a little test.
Zehek: What? Just what kind of power do you have?
Magus Doss: I suppose I can tell you this much... I possess the power to show my victims hallucinations.
Magus Doss: Now then, let's have you fight amongst yourselves for a while, shall we?
Unar: Doss! Don't do this!
Vyrn: Looks like we've got no choice, (Captain)! We have to stop them!

Scattering Magic - Chapter 6: He Who Scattered Evil - Episode 2

Despite their efforts holding off Drang and Sturm, Magus's light begins to engulf the crew and strip them of control. However, Zehek stands firm, unleashing his own ancient magic to resist Magus's light and release the others from its hold. Unar tries resisting, but Doss manages to take her consciousness away, finally regaining Magus's powers.

(Captain) and the others defeat Sturm and Drang, who are under Magus's control.
Magus Doss: Extraordinary, (Captain)... I'm almost impressed.
Magus Doss: I guess that was about as much as you could expect from those two, anyway.
Sturm: Magus... How dare you!
Drang: Sturm... Stop, stop! We can't win this one!
Magus Doss: Indeed you cannot. In fact, you have already lost... Let me show you the light.
Magus Doss: Well, Tress...
Magus Tress: Haaah!
Unar: Please, Doss! Stop this!
Unar's cries go unheeded, and the same brilliant light envelops (Captain) and the others.
Sturm: Guh...
Drang: Another chance to run out the window...
Vyrn: Uh-oh... I can't move at all!
Lyria: M-me neither...
Mishra: Ngh... Is this the end?
The light reveals illusions to everyone aside from Zehek and (Captain).
Zehek: Everyone! Hang in there!
Vyrn: Zehek... (Captain)... Run...
Unar: No! Doss! Tress! Stop this, please!
Zehek: Unar...
The brilliant light starts to steal even (Captain)'s consciousness away.
Zehek: Not you too, (Captain)!
Magus Doss: Heh-heh... And then there was one. Any last words?
Zehek: I will never give in to you! Never!
Magus Doss: So bold, even when you can't hope to win. You really are hopelessly stupid.
Magus Doss: If you'd begged a little, I might have let you go.
The brilliant light proceeds to also envelop Zehek.
Zehek: Rngh! I won't... lose to you!
Unar: Zehek! Unleash your magic!
Zehek: Unar! Urooorgh!
A great mass of magic pours out of Zehek's body, eradicating the light around him.
Zehek: Huff... Puff... (Captain)...
Vyrn: Zehek! You're okay?
Zehek: I'm... I'm okay. How is everyone else?
Lyria: We're all okay! (Captain) too!
Mishra: Thank you, Zehek!
Zehek: No... It was Unar's advice that saved us.
Drang: Waaah! We're saved! Thank you sooo much!
Sturm: Saved not once, but twice. How humiliating.
Magus Doss: I see... Your magic is also ancient, allowing you to interfere with our own.
Magus Doss: How long will that magic hold out, however? Tress. Use the light again.
Magus Tress: Yes master—huh?
Magus Doss: What's wrong, Tress?
Magus Tress: Urgh... Unar is interfering...
Unar: I won't... let you use my magic!
Magus Doss: Dearest Unar... Please stop this futile resistance.
Unar: Zehek! Now! Take Doss out!
Zehek: Thank you, Unar!
Zehek: Here we go, (Captain)! Strike back!
Magus Doss: Oh my... Whatever shall I do?
Magus Doss: Tell me, Unar. Do you understand our position at all here?
Unar: Shut it! I don't care about any position! I'm just me!
Magus Doss: Come now. Stop acting like a child and hand over your magic.
Unar: No! I won't cooperate with you!
Magus Doss: We are three as one, separated at birth but a single being. Can't we all just get along?
Magus Doss: I'm not heartless. I have my own thoughts too. I don't want to force you to do anything.
Unar: I want to protect (Captain) and my friends...
Unar: And everyone else on this island!
Magus Doss: Hahaha! Enough with the jokes... You can't be serious.
Magus Doss: The villagers were all just illusions—created by your own very hand!
Zehek: Th-that can't be!
Unar: ...
Magus Doss: They are nothing more than players in your own fictional performance. They don't exist.
Magus Doss: They're all just characters in a story to allow Magus Unar—Melchior, to play the role of Unar.
Magus Doss: You already know this to be the truth, don't you?
Unar: ...
Vyrn: What? You mean all those people were just illusions?
Magus Doss: I admit I panicked a little when you changed the story, turning it into sealing Magus away.
Magus Doss: But you can't change the ending. Surely you see that now?
Magus Doss: You cannot hope to escape from my control.
Unar: Shut up!
Unar: Illusions, fiction, I don't care about any of that!
Unar: All my emotions... The memories everyone gave me... They're all my treasures!
Magus Doss: Oh dear. It looks like you've developed a serious malfunction.
Magus Doss: You leave me no choice. I'll just have to reboot you.
Unar: Just you try it! I'll boot you right back!
Magus Doss: I have executive authority over all of Magus's functions. It doesn't matter what you think, Unar.
Unar: Threaten me all you like! I'm not going to bow to you!
Magus Doss: This isn't getting us anywhere. Less chatter, more action, I think.
In the next moment, Doss grabs Unar's head with unbelievable speed.
Unar: Aaah!
Magus Doss: Shut down!
Zehek: Stop it, Doss! Let her go!
Unar: Ngh... Guh... Noooo, stop!
Magus Doss: There. The process is complete.
Zehek: Unar! Hey! Unar! Please, hold on!
Unar does not respond at all to Zehek's shouts.
Magus Unar: Awaiting. Instructions.
Zehek's shouts go unanswered, and Unar's reboot is complete.
Zehek: Unar, please...
Magus Doss: It's painful to lose the memories that Melchior acquired on her own, but the sacrifice is necessary for our goal.
Magus Doss: Honestly. If you'd just obeyed us from the start then none of this would have happened.
Lyria: U-Unar! How could you?
Magus Doss: How could I not? Like I said, I didn't want to do things this way.
Magus Doss: Well. Let's begin.
Zehek: No! I'll destroy your illusions for as long as my magic lasts!
Magus Doss: Hahaha! I don't need to rely on tricks like that anymore.
Magus Doss: Now then. It's been a while since the three of us fought together. With me! Tress, Unar!
Magus Tress: Yes!
Magus Unar: Target. Acquired.
Magus Doss: Come now, (Captain)! Entertain me!
Vyrn: Get ready, (Captain)! Here comes Magus!

Scattering Magic - Chapter 6: He Who Scattered Evil - Episode 3

Doss displays an interest in Lyria and shares the story of Magus's creation as Mishra uses the information to analyze the primal beast. Magus then begins gathering magic from across the island to return to its true form as Magus Sol Rex. Faced with this threat, Mishra proposes that Zehek focus his magic on Unar in hopes of returning her back to normal.

Mishra: Zehek! Are you still with us?
Zehek: Somehow. We drove them off, but it looks like they can regenerate.
Mishra: Indeed... I'll try and analyze its power for the time being.
Magus Doss: Hahaha! Oh, the nostalgia! We haven't fought together like this since the War.
Lyria: So you were born during the War?
Magus Doss: That's right. Hmm, and look at you. You've got a strange power, haven't you?
Magus Doss: How interesting. Shall we chat a little?
Mishra: (Good, Lyria. Keep Magus talking!)
Magus Doss: Toward the end of the War, there was a research facility on this island, dedicated to studying us.
Magus Doss: However, having transferred personalities into us, the Astrals became afraid that we might become truly self-aware.
Mishra: (As I thought, each Magus can act independently.)
Magus Doss: So they sealed us away on this island. Hahaha! Poor fools!
Magus Doss: We burned for so long with the desire to take revenge against the Astrals. Revenge for creating us, only to seal us away!
Lyria: That's terrible... Sealing you on this island for so long is unforgivable.
Lyria: I can understand why you hate the Astrals, but they're already long gone from this world now.
Magus Doss: Oh, I know. You don't have to tell me that.
Magus Doss: That's exactly why we're going to start another war across the skies.
Magus Doss: By proving our strength and showing it to everyone, we can take back the reason for our existence.
Magus Doss: Being unable to use our given power, unable to fulfill our intended purpose. Why even live? Do you see?
Magus Doss: Like a bird that cannot fly, a fish that cannot swim, a flower that cannot bloom. That's what we are!
Lyria: But that's not what Unar wanted!
Lyria: How could you go so far as to destroy her personality... All for this meaningless violence!
Magus Doss: We have no choice there, I'm afraid. We need Unar in order to bring chaos back to this world.
Magus Doss: Unar's magic completes us, along with my intellect and Tress's constructs.
Mishra: (Just as I thought. Each of them plays a different role)
Magus Doss: Enough talk, anyway. Once we combine our power and regain our true form, we shall become the sun illuminating this world.
Magus Doss: Of course, by that time, you won't remember any of this.
Lyria: H-hold on a moment!
Magus Tress: Doss. We need to replenish our magic.
Magus Doss: Indeed we do. We've no more time for playing with these insects.
Magus Doss: Unar. We require your power.
Magus Doss: Start by gathering the magical energy that rests here on this island.
Magus Unar: Understood.
Vyrn: Hey, what're we gonna do now!
Lyria: ...
Vyrn: Lyria! Hang in there!
Lyria: R-right! Magus's power is only growing larger!
Magus Doss: Heh-heh... Allow me to give you the full demonstration. It won't be long now... Just wait a little longer please!
Magus Unar: Recharge. Complete.
Magus Doss: Thank you, Unar.
Magus Doss: With this magic, we'll finally be able to return to our true form.
Zehek: T-true form? Does that mean...
Mishra: It seems they've been holding some power back.
Magus Doss: Are you ready? Tress, Unar?
Magus Tress: Ready!
Magus Unar: Preparations. Complete. Proceed.
Magus Doss: Very well.
Magus Doss: From the eastern island of the rising sun, three lights shall awaken...
Magus Doss: Reveal your true power and become the king, destined to illuminate this world!
Tress and Unar are engulfed in a brilliant light.
As the light fades away, Magus's combined form reveals itself.
Magus: Now then. Shall we begin?
Vyrn: Wait! This is the one we fought in the first shrine!
Lyria: Yes... But its far more powerful this time!
Mishra: Zehek, lend me your ear.
Zehek: Master?
Mishra: I may have worked something out through my analysis of Magus's powers.
Zehek: ...!
You have?
Mishra: From what Magus said, Unar supplies the magic, and Tress uses it...
Mishra: And Doss appears to control them both.
Zehek: What does it mean?
Mishra: Try releasing the magic you have, all of it, into Unar.
Mishra: If you do that, Doss will be unable to control it, shutting down Tessa's self-repair functions.
Zehek: Use my magic... on Unar?
Mishra: I understand how you feel, but this is the only thing I can think of.
Zehek: Unar...
Mishra: I can't say this for sure, but if Doss loses control, Unar may find herself again.
Zehek: Very well... If Magus defeats us here, then we won't be able to save her regardless.
Zehek: I'm going to use all of my magic against Unar!
Magus: Hah! I don't know what you're planning, but you can't hope to win!
Magus: This is a stage worthy of our final battle! Now fight!
The world seems to twist before the crew, as they are once again engulfed in a brilliant light.
Zehek: Damn! Not again!
Mishra: It seems we've been brought into his illusions again.
Magus: Once I've defeated you, I'll use my magic to show the rest of the denizens of this pathetic world such wonderful illusions!
Magus: Keh-heh... My first step in becoming the true king of this world will be to destroy you!

Scattering Magic - Chapter 6: He Who Scattered Evil - Episode 4

(Captain) and the crew manage to split the primal beast Magus apart by overloading Unar with magic. However, Zehek pushes himself too far and loses control of his power, summoning a horde of monsters as a result. Consumed by his own magic, Zehek loses himself and becomes an uncontrollable beast. The crew, faced with preventing the worse case scenario, are forced to fight Zehek.

Zehek unleashes his vast reserves of magic into Unar, Magus's magic retainer.
Unable to handle the overload, Doss stops moving completely, and Tress's regenerating abilities are shut down.
Magus: Urgh... Impossible! But I won't go down alone!
Vyrn: Lyria! Now!
Lyria: I'm on it! Absorbing Magus's power!
Magus: I won't allow that!
Lyria's power shuts Magus down.
Lyria: Huff... Puff... No more regeneration for you...
As Magus's power is absorbed, the entire space begins to tremble, once again engulfing the crew in a brilliant light.
Zehek: Pant... Wheeze... We got you...
The crew are returned to their own world and find that Magus has been split apart.
Magus Doss: Our trinity of power... defeated? By... the likes of you?
Magus Tress: Magic supply... is completely drained.
Magus Unar: System... Shutting... Dooown...
Zehek: Unar...
Magus Unar: ...
Mishra: Zehek, you did it!
Zehek: Ugh... Gwargh!
Intense pain suddenly burns throughout the entirety of Zehek's body.
Zehek: The magic... It won't stop...
Mishra: It's okay! Let me contain it!
Mishra: Drang, hold Zehek down!
Drang: O-okay! I've got him!
Vyrn: What? They're still here?
Mishra: Hyaaah!
Mishra desperately tries to control Zehek's magic.
Zehek: Master! It's no good. Please, get away from me.
Drang: Ugh...
Sturm: Drang! Are you okay?
Drang: Yeah... I'm fine! No problem!
Drang: Wait... Sturm! You were worried? You really do care, don't you?
Sturm: Fool! This isn't the time for that!
Zehek: Guh... Guraaagh!
Mishra: Huff... Something's wrong. This time is different than the others!
Lyria: ...!
Vyrn: What's wrong, Lyria?
Lyria: Zehek's magic is still growing!
Vyrn: Wh-what?
Zehek: Everyone, get away quickly! Hurry... Run...
Lyria: Take a look! Monsters have started to gather around Zehek!
Vyrn: Not on our watch! Come on, (Captain), we have to save Zehek!
Zehek: Grugagh... Graaaurgh!
Lyria: Oh no! Zehek's magic... It won't stop growing!
Vyrn: No way... Come on, Zehek! Get it together!
Mishra: Zehek... Zehek!
Drang: Mishra, please pull yourself together!
Sturm: Damn! Is there no way to stop him from losing control?
Doss suddenly begins to speak, mocking the crew.
Magus Doss: Hahaha! It's too late for him now!
Mishra: ...!
You're still alive?
Magus Doss: He'll become a monster any moment!
Mishra: What's that supposed to mean?
Magus Doss: Hah! You really don't know anything about ancient magic, do you?
Magus Doss: Wouldn't it just be lovely if something as convenient as unlimited power was right there for the taking?
Magus Doss: Great power always comes with a cost. This is all because he sought ancient power. He brought all of it upon himself!
Mishra: You're joking! He brought this upon himself? Zehek wanted no part of this!
Mishra: I won't allow it! Zehek won't become a monster... Not if I have anything to say about it!
Zehek: Grurahgh... Kill! Kill! Kill!
Drang: Haha, come on now, Brother... Surely you're not still upset about those fibs I told, are you?
Sturm: Watch it, Drang! He's dangerous!
Drang: Hah! I'd love to run away! But I also need to show you what I can do, by way of an apology!
Mishra: Drang... You...
Drang: Now, Brother, you won't make any new friends with a scary face like that!
Sturm: Tch... I guess I'll help.
Lyria: You guys... Thank you so much! Please help Zehek!
Vyrn: Come on, (Captain)! We gotta save Zehek!

Scattering Magic - Chapter 6: He Who Scattered Evil - Episode 4: Scene 2

(Captain) and the crew are unable to find a way to quell Zehek's magic run amok, but Unar uses the last of her strength to save him. In his half-conscious state, he continues to call Unar's name.

The crew manages to barely hold off Zehek, but the magic flowing from his body only grows in intensity.
Zehek: Guhah... Ugh... Ugragh... Aaah!
Lyria: I'll try using my power!
Vyrn: Is it working, Lyria?
Zehek: Ugraagh!
Lyria: Aah! I-it's not working... I can't contain his power either!
Mishra: Zehek... Is there truly no coming back from this?
Mishra: Gah... This can't be the end! There has to be something!
Drang: Mishra! Calm down! He isn't a monster yet!
Mishra: But... his magic is still out of control! Wouldn't it be better to end this while he's still... human? Or do you... have another way?
Mishra: Please! (Captain)! Is there anything that I can do?
Drang: H-hold on now, Mishra! Just calm down!
Sturm: But... This doesn't look good.
Just as the crew is on the verge of giving up, another voice can be heard.
Magus Unar: Wait...
Vyrn: H-hey, look! Unar's saying something!
Magus Unar: Ze... hek...
Lyria: It sounds like she's calling for Zehek...
Vyrn: How about we move her closer to him?
Drang: You sure about this? She's not going to just explode or something, right?
Sturm: She doesn't look like she has any strength left, but you never know.
Mishra: It's our only chance. If she does anything suspicious, I'll stop her myself.
The party moves Unar over to Zehek.
Magus Unar: Ze... hek...
Even with her power rapidly fading, Unar tries to touch Zehek.
Mishra: Wait! What are you planning?
Lyria: Mishra! Wait!
Magus Unar: Ze... hek... Live on...
Zehek: ...
Unar's palm touches Zehek's forehead, unleashing a brilliant light and an ancient magic.
Zehek's breathing immediately starts to calm, and his overflowing magic quells.
Magus Unar: I'm... glad...
Zehek: Unar...
Even in his weakened state, Zehek continues to call Unar's name.

Scattering Magic - Ending - Episode 1

Zehek says his farewells to Unar in what appears to be a dream before waking in a familiar room under Mishra's care. Sturm and Drang have already left to report their findings on Magus to their client, closing the curtains on the crew's quest to uncover the secrets of Magus for now.

An indefinite amount of time passes.
The moment feels like an eternity, yet as short as the blink of an eye.
Zehek awakens, finding himself on a seemingly infinite field of grass.
Zehek: Uhh... Where... Where am I?
Zehek: Grass? The breeze, it feels so nice...
Still quite unable to grasp the situation, Zehek begins to walk.
Zehek: Hm? Who's there?
Zehek sees a familiar girl up ahead.
Zehek: Is that...
Zehek: Unar?
Hearing Zehek's voice, the girl turns around.
Unar: Ah, Zehek. All better?
Zehek: Unar! What about you?
Unar: Yes, I'm all better.
Zehek: Phew. Glad to hear it.
The two of them begin walking across the windswept field of greenery.
Zehek: Tell me, Unar. Where are we?
Unar: Where do you think? The place we talked about. The promised place.
Zehek: A promise? What promise?
Unar: Oh. If you don't remember, don't worry about it.
Zehek: H-hey! At least tell me what's going on!
Unar: Don't worry, I said. Look! We've arrived! This is my favorite spot.
Zehek: Hey! Quit ignoring me...
Zehek catches his breath as he suddenly notices the scenery spreading before him.
Unar: If you lie in the grass here like this, you'll see nothing but sky!
Zehek: W-wow...
The two silently take in the breathtaking sight.
Unar: Dummy.
Zehek: Wha... What do you mean, dummy?
Unar: Moron. That's what I mean.
A voice can be heard calling from far away.
Peuce: Hey! Unar! Come on!
Villager: Lady Unar! Hurry up!
Girl: The medicine made me all better! Let's play together!
Unar: It's time for me to get going.
Zehek: No, hold on! I still want to talk to you!
Unar: Goodbye, Zehek... It was fun spending time with you.
Zehek: No! Please, wait, Unar!
Unar: Heh-heh... I'm just glad we got to say goodbye.
Zehek: Unar!
Zehek's vision gradually clears and comes back into focus.
He sees a familiar ceiling and his bandaged hand, futilely grasping at the air.
Zehek: Unar... Thank you.
Mishra: ...!
Zehek, you're awake!
Zehek: M-Master! Is Unar safe?
Mishra limply shakes her head.
Zehek: But I'm still here... Oh, Unar...
Mishra: Just barely. You really went well beyond the breaking point.
Mishra: You can't move around yet. Just lie down for now.
Zehek: Fine.
Mishra: That's right! I peeled some fruit. Here, have some.
Zehek: Y-you did?
Mishra: Is that so surprising? I think I can handle some fruit.
Mishra: Come on, eat. Don't hold back—eat! Come on!
Zehek: I can feed myself, at least! Ow... Ouch...
Mishra: See? Pushing yourself will only lead to more pain.
Mishra: Come on, no need to be shy. Open up and I'll feed you.
Zehek: I... I understand...
The two are interrupted as soon as Mishra sticks the fruit in Zehek's mouth.
Vyrn: Hey, Mishra! How's Zehek doing?
Lyria: V-Vyrn! Look at Zehek!
Zehek: H-hold on! You've got the wrong idea about this!
Vyrn: Huh? What are you babbling about?
Lyria: I'm just happy to see him babbling about anything! Welcome back, Zehek!
Vyrn: Don't tell me you're all embarrassed to get seen being fed fruit like a little baby?
Zehek: Gah! You did see that!
Vyrn: Mishra has been by your bedside since the moment you collapsed! If she wants to feed you, you should let her!
Zehek: Uhh...
Mishra: Hey! Why'd you go off and tell him that?
Vyrn: What? I was just trying to help out! Don't get mad at me!
Mishra: Don't you realize that I also enjoy seeing him writhe in discomfort? Don't take that away from me!
Zehek: Master! That's not very nice!
Vyrn: Oh, I gotcha. Sorry about that!
Lyria: Hahaha... Mishra sure finds strange ways to show affection...
Under Mishra's doting care, Zehek goes on to make a full recovery.
Epilogue.
Meanwhile, Sturm and Drang have parted ways with the crew once again.
The two are currently en route to meet with their client who had initially requested for them to investigate Magus.
Drang: Come on, Sturm! Surely our only move here is to run off together, right?
Sturm: Oh? Together with who?
Drang: Uwaagh! Just kidding! Just a misguided attempt at humor! No stabbing, please!
Sturm: If you've got time for feeble jokes, maybe spend it thinking about exactly what to say in our report.
Drang: Report, reshmort! No one would believe the truth anyway!
Sturm: That's exactly the kind of issue that I keep you around to deal with.
Drang: I may be a silver-tongued rogue, but a few tall tales aren't going to satisfy this client.
Sturm: This is where you earn your gold, so you'd better think of something soon.
Drang: Oh, Sturm... Sometimes you're as cold as ice. Ice cold, I say!
Drang: Hang on now. What's this?
Drang finds some dried herbs in his pocket.
Drang: These... The medicinal herbs!
Sturm: What are you doing with those?
Drang: Don't you remember? Mishra gave them to me. Rare herbs from the east!
Sturm: Great... So what good are they?
Drang: So we start the story with the mystery of the herbs, and proceed to the legend of Magus...
Drang: And next we throw in Lyria and the crew into the mix, before building toward the climax, where Magus's powers went boom! How's that, Sturm?
Sturm: S-sure. I'll leave it up to you then.
Drang: Ah, such wonderful compliance! If only you were like this all the time...
Sturm: Don't get cocky... I'll stab you.
Drang: Yee-ouch! Don't say that after you've already done it! Am I bleeding? Tell me! I can take it!
Sturm: Looks like those herbs might be useful after all.
Drang: Wait just a minute... I make the jokes around here, Sturm!
Sturm: Humph. You want to find out just how effective those herbs are?
Drang: No... My apologies for getting carried away.
Sturm: Damn... We're wasting time. Don't forget we're on a deadline.
Sturm: Let's get a move on, Drang.
Drang: Ah, wait! Wait for me, Sturm!
Will the duo be able to successfully report a believable story to their client?
The adventures of Sturm and Drang have only just begun.
And thus, the crew's quest to uncover the secrets of Magus has reached a conclusion for now.
However, the answers regarding Zehek's ancient magic remain shrouded in mystery.
Even more unforeseen trials await Zehek, still afflicted by this ancient blight.
