Her Causality Begins
In the midst of battle with automagod Versatile, Beatrix has a flashback to how she was called upon by Ilsa to wield the seal weapon Embrasque. During the bonding process, she accepts Embrasque as a partner rather than a tool, achieving harmony with it.
What follows is the story of the immortal ultramarine and a sword that devours causality.
It all began with the battle against Versatile, the fourteenth automagod forged by Alandus after betraying the Society.
In order to stop the rampaging Versatile, the crew attempted to reawaken Embrasque, which had been absorbed by the automagod.
Beatrix: I'm the lynchpin?
Cassius: Regardless of my continued skepticism, you are the only one who claims to be able to hear the voice of your weapon.
Cassius: Embrasque's core is its own enigma memory. It's still inside Versatile. You have to reawaken it.
Heeding Cassius's advice, Beatrix advances toward Versatile.
With the support of her companions, Beatrix leaps onto Versatile's chest where Embrasque slumbers.
Beatrix: C'mon, Embrasque! You and I are invincible!
Responding to Beatrix's shout, Versatile's chest glows with a deep blue light which envelops her.
While bathed in the light, Beatrix calls softly to Embrasque as if in prayer.
Beatrix: Hey, Embrasque... do you remember when we first met?
About a year before Beatrix first meets (Captain) and others in the crew...
One day, Beatrix receives a confidential summons from Ilsa and heads to the Society headquarters.
Beatrix: Why am I the only one being called on for this meeting...
Beatrix: Oddly enough, they wouldn't tell me any details beforehand...
Beatrix: A solo assignment without Zeta or Vaseraga has never happened before...
Beatrix: Plus it's Sergeant Ilsa calling me in... Wait, what are the chances I'm getting demoted back to recruit training?
Beatrix: Ugh, please tell me that's not it! Surely this private summons means my efforts are being acknowledged, and now I'm being entrusted with some super secret mission...
Half convincing herself, Beatrix arrives at the designated room.
Beatrix: Reporting for duty, Sergeant Ilsa!
Ilsa: There you are, Hellcat. Let's get straight to business—
Beatrix: I-it's a classified mission, right? Yeah, I figured! Let's hear the details—
Ilsa: Apparently, everything I taught you in training has gone right out your other ear, hasn't it?
Beatrix: Urk.
Ilsa: You listen to your superior in silence until they're finished! I thought I drilled that into your head on day one—stuffed in so tight that there wasn't even room for earwax!
Beatrix: Y-yeah, I remember! Sorry...
Ilsa: Whatever. Zip that motor mouth and look here.
Ilsa gestures at a weapon lying by her side.
Ilsa: You already know about the Society's seal weapons. This is one of them—the Embrasque Sword.
Ilsa: The Society has decided to assign you as the contractor for Embrasque.
Beatrix: Huh?
Ilsa: Until now you just had to chase after the others... but not anymore.
Ilsa: As Embrasque's contractor, you'll be given solo assignments. You'll need to be more prepared than ever.
Ilsa: ...
No reaction? Don't tell me you're about to faint out of sheer happiness—
No reaction? Don't tell me you're about to faint out of sheer happiness—
Beatrix: ...
Ilsa: Hey... Are you still in there!
Startled by Beatrix's silence, Ilsa sharpens her tone.
There is no cheer or visible shock from Beatrix, only quiet tears streaming down her cheeks.
Beatrix: S-sorry... I'm listening...
Ilsa: You're throwing me off here... Do you really think this is too much for you?
Ilsa: The Society judged you capable, and I agree with that judgment.
Ilsa: And just so we're clear, this isn't a job for anyone who'd turn tail and run. If you want to decline—
Beatrix: I'm not declining. That's not it. It's just...
Beatrix: I guess I was overwhelmed, realizing I've finally made it this far.
Beatrix quietly shuts her eyes.
What surfaces in her mind is a burning manor beset by an angry mob.
???: ...
And off to the side, at a safe distance away from the bedlam, is a certain foe flashing a mocking grin.
Young Beatrix: That's him... He took my parents!
Beatrix: Becoming a seal weapon contractor means I get to fight on the front lines. I'll be able to take down more of the Foe...
Beatrix: And someday, for sure...
The Embrasque Sword flares in response to Beatrix's words.
Ilsa: Well. Seems the sword has a favorable impression of you.
Ilsa: Hellcat! Take Embrasque in your hands!
Beatrix: Okay!
Following Ilsa's command, Beatrix takes hold of Embrasque.
In the next moment, the sword glows even brighter and begins to vibrate.
Beatrix: Guh... Nghhh...
Ilsa: Don't let Embrasque get the better of you! Make it acknowledge you as its contractor!
Beatrix: Y-you don't have to tell me!
Beatrix: (I can handle this much... There's no way I'm letting go!)
Determined to see this through, Beatrix grips the shining Embrasque Sword even tighter.
She then senses a faint voice echo in the back of her mind.
Beatrix: (What is this... I feel like Embrasque is reaching out to me.)
Beatrix: (Is it testing my resolve? No, that's not it. All this time, you've been searching for someone who would stay by your side, haven't you?)
Beatrix: (Not as a tool, but as a companion...)
Beatrix: (Sorry—even I only saw you as a tool to vanquish my enemies.)
Beatrix: (But it's okay; you and I are equals now.)
Beatrix: No matter what happens, I'll fight alongside you!
Beatrix: I swear I'll take on every fate that comes our way! So lend me your strength, Embrasque!
As Beatrix calls out, the sword flares with one final, dazzling glow.
The light soon softens, and Embrasque settles comfortably into Beatrix's grasp.
Ilsa: Color me surprised. I mean, I figured you'd be compatible, but I didn't think it'd happen this quickly.
Beatrix: Wait, did I just do something amazing?
Ilsa: Honestly? Yes. Among the seal weapons, Embrasque has always been particularly picky about its contractor.
Ilsa: There've been a few others chosen by the Society before, but...
Ilsa: You're the only one who's been accepted by Embrasque itself.
Beatrix: Wait, really?
Beatrix: All right! Haha, I knew it! I really am incredible! Well, it's only natural—it's me we're talking about!
Ilsa: Don't let it get to your head!
Beatrix: Eek!
Ilsa: From now on, you'll be assigned even more high-risk missions as a seal weapon contractor.
Ilsa: You'd better not make the kind of careless mistakes you've made until now. Keep your head in the game and do your job!
Beatrix: Y-yes, Sergeant...
Ilsa: Good. Dismissed!
Practically chased out by Ilsa, Beatrix murmurs quietly to Embrasque.
Beatrix: Guess we're partners now, huh? Looking forward to working with you, Embrasque.
Beatrix: With you and me, we'll be in perfect sync in no time, clearing mission after mission...
Beatrix: And some day, I'll be taking down every one of my own foes by my own hands.
Beatrix grips Embrasque's hilt tightly, causing the entire blade to shimmer with deep blue light.
Gazing at its gentle gleam, Beatrix silently reflects on the path that brought her here.
Her Causality Begins: Scene 2
As a child, Beatrix lives happily as the daughter of a noble family—until failed reforms lead to insurmountable debt and a violent uprising. She escapes thanks to the butler, but her parents are killed by villagers incited by a moneylender.
Beatrix is born as the only daughter of a noble family that governs a prosperous region.
Admired by his people as a benevolent lord, Beatrix's father often shares words of wisdom with his daughter.
Beatrix's Father: Even as a child, Beatrix, you bear the title of a noble. Wear that pride with dignity and do not sully your family's legacy.
Young Beatrix: Pride as a noble?
Beatrix's Father: That's right. We represent the people. We must always keep them in mind and serve as a model for them.
Beatrix's Father: Be compassionate to others, strict with yourself. If you see someone struggling, offer a helping hand.
Beatrix's Father: And when adversity finds you, face it with courage instead of waiting for someone else to save you.
Beatrix's Father: Having the strength of heart to confront all hardship head-on will make you strong.
Young Beatrix: Okay, I get it! I'll do my best to become an honorable noble like you and Mother!
Beatrix's Mother: Haha, Beatrix works so hard with both her studies and her training.
Beatrix's Mother: She'll surely grow into a wonderful ruler beloved by all her people.
Guided by her strict yet understanding father and gentle, kindhearted mother, Beatrix devotes herself to her studies, determined to become a noble they can be proud of.
But the more Beatrix learns, the more she realizes that something isn't quite right at home.
Moneylender: So this is all you have for this installment?
Beatrix's Father: Yes... However, I shall repay you in full as soon as the next harvest comes...
Moneylender: Well, I suppose that's fine. But I'll be charging you extra interest for what's missing.
Young Beatrix: (It's him again... He's the one who's been lending Father money for the land reforms, isn't he...)
Young Beatrix: (But none of the debt is getting paid back, and it seems like the harvests are getting smaller too...)
Young Beatrix: (The townsfolk who used to play with me in the fields look so worried lately...)
Beatrix's father uses borrowed funds to provide for the people and to reform the farmland.
But when the reforms fail to bear fruit, difficulties sweep through the domain.
Beatrix's once-thriving family finds itself pressed by hardship in just a few years.
Young Beatrix: (Father and Mother must be doing what's right for the people. So why do they look so sad?)
Young Beatrix: (I need to study even harder. I'll grow up as fast as I can and help my parents and everyone in the land.)
Young Beatrix: (That's my duty as a noble!)
Motivated by this determination, Beatrix devotes herself to her studies and training more than ever before.
One day, Beatrix notices just how tired her parents look.
Young Beatrix: Mother and Father have been working so hard lately... At this rate, they might collapse.
Young Beatrix: I know! I'll cheer them up with something sweet, just like Mother makes!
Aiming to recreate her mother's delicious treats, Beatrix tries baking in the kitchen.
But as a small child, she has no idea how to work the large oven—
Young Beatrix: Eep!
Beatrix's Father: What happened!
Beatrix's Mother: Beatrix! How many times have I told you not to go near the oven alone!
Beatrix's Mother: Are you hurt? No burns, I hope?
Young Beatrix: S-sorry... I'm okay. I didn't get burned. Did I break the oven?
Beatrix's Father: Let's see... Looks like you just overheated the sweets and they burst inside. The oven itself should be fine.
Beatrix's Father: Still, it's rare for you to break the rules. What happened?
Young Beatrix: Um... I wanted you and Mother to have a break, so I tried making cookies.
Young Beatrix: But I didn't know how to use the oven and ended up burning them...
Beatrix shyly holds out the baking tray.
On it are lumpy cookies she tried to make by imitating her mother as best she could.
Beatrix's Mother: You made these... because you wanted us to rest?
Beatrix's Mother: I'm sorry, Beatrix. We've ended up making you worry so much, haven't we?
Beatrix's Father: You went to all this trouble... Why don't we all take it easy today and have a little tea party together?
Young Beatrix: But... I messed them up...
Beatrix's Father: A little burnt edge is nothing to worry about. For your first try, you did amazingly well.
Beatrix's Father: Looks like you have a talent not only for being a fine noble, but for making sweets as well.
Young Beatrix: Hehe! That's because I'm always learning how to make tasty treats from you, Mother!
Beatrix's Mother: Even though we haven't made sweets together in a while... I'm amazed you remembered everything.
Beatrix's Mother: Which reminds me—your eighth birthday is coming up soon, isn't it?
Beatrix's Mother: As thanks for today, I'll bake you the most delicious cake I can for your birthday.
Young Beatrix: Wow... Hooray! I want a super sweet cake with lots of cream!
Beatrix's Mother: Haha, I'll put in so much cream that you'll practically be swimming in it. That's a promise.
On Beatrix's birthday, just as she waits eagerly for her cake, distant sounds of commotion reach her ears.
Young Beatrix: Huh? Someone's shouting by the entrance...
Beatrix's Father: Who are you! Why are you doing this?
Brigand: Heh heh, like I'm gonna bother wastin' my time explainin' when you're all about to die anyway!
Brigand: All right, boys! Take every last bit of loot you can carry!
Beatrix's Father: Kgh! The rest of you, run! Alert the villagers and call the guards—
Standing bravely at the forefront beside the male servants, Beatrix's father looks behind the brigands and is struck speechless with shock.
Beatrix follows his gaze—and freezes just like her father.
Moneylender: The lord who made you all suffer is right here! Burn his manor to the ground!
Moneylender: Take everything from he who did nothing but rack up debts and make your lives miserable!
Villagers: Uuoooogh!
Young Beatrix: The villagers... Why is everyone pointing their weapons at us?
Brigand: Heh! Beats me, kid! Think about it in the afterlife!
Beatrix's Mother: Beatrix! Get away!
Her mother rushes in to shield her from the brigand's attack.
His sword plunges deep into her back.
Beatrix's Mother: Eeeeek!
Beatrix: Mother? Please... Why...
Beatrix: Noooooooo!
Awash in her mother's blood, Beatrix clings to her desperately, crying out.
But the family butler pulls Beatrix away, trying to get her to safety.
Young Beatrix: Let go! Mother! Father!
The butler brings Beatrix underground, hides her in a secret closet, and tells her not to come out until everything is over.
Beatrix waits there, just as she was told.
Young Beatrix: (Why... why! Why would the villagers hurt Mother and Father?)
Young Beatrix: (They always thought of everyone, even when times were hard. Why...)
Young Beatrix: (This is unforgivable!)
After what feels like an eternity, Beatrix cautiously crawls out from the closet.
Young Beatrix: I can't hear anything anymore...
Young Beatrix: Father... Mother... Mr. Butler?
Soot blankets the entire house, the acrid scent of smoke hanging thick in the air as Beatrix frantically searches for her family.
She finally finds her parents at the entrance.
Parents: ...
Young Beatrix: Father... Mother...
Afterward, when nearby lords, mercenaries, and the Crew of Enforcers arrive in the aftermath, there is no longer any sign of the brigands.
Beatrix is found and taken into care, the shock of finding her parents' bodies never fading.
Her Causality Begins: Scene 3
The orphaned Beatrix is adopted by greedy nobles who neglect her. Swearing revenge on the moneylender, she trains herself and, on her fifteenth birthday, leaves her foster family behind to pursue vengeance alone.
After losing her parents to the villagers' attack, Beatrix is taken in by a nearby noble who claims to have been their close friend.
However, as soon as the adoption paperwork is completed, the noble who kindly welcomed Beatrix to his estate shows a different face.
Foster Father: Tch... With all the land they had, I thought they'd have stockpiled a fortune. Just my luck that there's practically nothing left!
Foster Father: To leave behind so little after ruling such a rich territory—you know, your folks couldn't have been more incompetent.
Young Beatrix: ...!
Foster Father: In any case, you signing over your legal claim to that land will be sufficient for now.
Foster Father: Once you come of age, you can at least make yourself useful by marrying into a reputable family.
Young Beatrix: Thank you for taking me in...
Young Beatrix: (Hating this man won't change anything. That's just wallowing in my own misery.)
Young Beatrix: (And that would be shameful for a noble. There are more important things I have to do.)
The memory of that rueful day never leaves Beatrix's mind.
Young Beatrix: (The villagers set fire to the manor and killed my parents... But it was someone else that drove them to action...)
Moneylender: The lord who made you all suffer is right here! Burn his manor to the ground!
Young Beatrix: (He was the one leading them... the man who convinced Father to invest in land reform.)
Young Beatrix: (In truth, he never cared about improving the land and deceived Father from the very start.)
Young Beatrix: (He burned through our money, brought the estate to ruin, and stoked the villagers' resentment.)
Young Beatrix: (All to bring down my parents... He's the real enemy.)
Young Beatrix: (I'll grow up as fast as I can... and when the time is right, I'll make him pay!)
Beatrix's foster parents don't give her much in the way of education or even enough to eat, let alone comfort.
Yet Beatrix never utters a word of discontent, instead devoting every spare moment to rigorous training.
Foster Brother: Hey, Bargain Beatrix! What are you doing waving that sword around all day?
Foster Brother: You'll just wear out your one good outfit even more by sweating that much.
Young Beatrix: Daily training was my father's rule.
Foster Brother: Humph... When are you going to stop acting like some noble heir?
Foster Brother: Even if you train every single day, you've got no land left to protect.
Foster Brother: If you need something to practice, maybe try brushing up your etiquette for those matchmaking sessions. Want me to give you a lesson?
Young Beatrix: ...
Foster Brother: Tch... Acting all high and mighty for an orphan, aren't you!
Beatrix ignores her foster brother completely and keeps training with her sword.
On her fifteenth birthday, Beatrix appears before her foster family in traveling clothes.
Foster Father: Hey, Beatrix! I came because you said it was urgent—and here you are dressed in those filthy rags!
Foster Father: Get changed right this instant! If anyone sees you like this, you'll never get a marriage offer!
Beatrix: Not much point. I never have anything to wear but rags anyway.
Beatrix: And I'm not interested in matchmaking. After today, I'm cutting ties with all of you.
Foster Father: Huh? What are you talking about!
Beatrix: Exactly what it sounds like. I'm leaving this house and not coming back.
Beatrix: As for the land you took from me? Consider it payment for taking me in.
Beatrix: Maybe I'll see you around.
With an air of indifference, Beatrix turns her back and starts to leave.
Foster Brother: Wait, Beatrix! You can't just say stuff like that...
Foster Brother: You're really going to leave after everything Father did for you?
Foster Brother: As the next head of this family, I won't allow it. I'll stop you by force if I have to.
Beatrix: Is that so? Sorry, but I don't think you can beat me.
Foster Brother: Why, you little...
Enraged by Beatrix's words, her foster brother grabs a wooden sword and attacks.
But she dodges his strike with ease.
Beatrix: Don't you remember what the so-called "Bargain" Beatrix was doing every day? Hup!
Beatrix: Haah!
Beatrix strikes his solar plexus with the sheath of her sword.
Foster Brother: Guh!
Struck in a vital spot, her foster brother gasps and collapses to the floor.
Foster Father: Insolent brat!
Beatrix: If you're going to pick a fight, expect retaliation. Even someone who's not a noble would understand that.
Beatrix: Oh look, I just struck your precious heir. Guess that means I'm disowned for good. Well, I'm out of here.
With a final cold glance at her glowering foster father, Beatrix turns her back on the family estate for the last time.
This time, there's no one left who can stop her.
Her Causality Begins: Scene 4
On her journey for revenge, Beatrix collapses after a failed mafia base infiltration and is rescued by Zeta. The two become friends, but when Zeta leaves to become a knight, Beatrix sets off on her quest alone once more.
Beatrix leaves the island where she was born and raised, setting out on a journey that takes her all across the skies.
To hunt down any clues about her parents' killers, she deliberately infiltrates shady societies and rough neighborhoods—
Beatrix: Phew! Things got a bit wild, but I got the powder barrels to explode, and now the restraints are off!
Beatrix: Time to hightail it out of here!
Time and again, Beatrix finds herself in a tight spot but always manages to pick up intel and make her escape.
Beatrix: (No useful leads this time either... Oh well, can't let it get me down. On to the next one!)
Beatrix: (There seem to be more and more islands falling to lawlessness these days... I'm sure it won't be hard to find my next target.)
Beatrix: It'd honestly be easier if there were some shadowy organization pulling all the strings behind every conflict out there.
Beatrix: If it existed, I could just cut off the head of the snake and call it a day...
One day, Beatrix attempts to sneak into a certain mafia base.
Beatrix: That door must be the boss's office... I already took out the guards, so now's my chance.
Beatrix: Gotta poke around before the boss gets back—
Mafia Boss: Is that so? In that case, I'd better deal with you right now.
Beatrix: Gwah!
As Beatrix tries to enter, a bullet fired from behind tears through her shoulder.
She spins around and sees what looks like the mafia boss standing there with a pistol.
Beatrix: Damn... Who the hell just starts shooting people like that!
Mafia Boss: It's Negotiation 101: Strike first to make the bargaining easier.
Mafia Boss: Now, why'd you try to enter my room? If you don't spill, I'll just fire again.
Beatrix: Like I'm ever telling you that!
Mafia Boss: Wha? Y-you little—
Beatrix: This is what I call a strategic withdrawal! Just don't confuse it for running away!
Beatrix uses the smoke to slip away from the boss's grasp.
She barely manages to board a passing air ferry and escape to the next random island.
Beatrix: Damn... Looks like a bullet wound doesn't heal up so easily...
Beatrix: I'm starving... and I'm losing energy fast...
Woman's Voice: Hm? What an odd sound that was just now...
Woman's Voice: Wha... Hey, you! Come on, hold it together!
Beatrix: Ngh...
When she comes to, Beatrix finds herself not in a cold alley, but in the warmth of a cozy shop.
Beatrix: Where... is this?
Blonde Woman: Nice to see you're up. You were collapsed out back behind this shop.
Blonde Woman: I patched you up a little, so for now have some water... and if you can manage it, eat this too.
With that, the blonde woman hands Beatrix a bun piled high with cream.
Beatrix: What's this?
Blond Woman: It's our specialty: a mega whipped cream bun. It's super sweet, but after what you've been through, it should be perfect.
Beatrix: Gee, thanks!
Beatrix: ...
Blond Woman: How is it? Honestly, plenty of customers say it's too sweet for them.
Beatrix: Really? I think it's delicious...
Blond Woman: Glad to hear it.
Beatrix says this as she hungrily devours the bun.
The blonde woman quietly watches, looking slightly at a loss for what to do.
Blond Woman: (Huh? For someone who seemed so hungry, she eats really neatly.)
Blond Woman: (She's a mess and looks like a runaway, but... maybe she's actually from a good family?)
Zeta: I'm Zeta. What about you, Miss Ragged Clothes?
Beatrix: I'm... Beatrix.
Zeta: Beatrix, huh? Bea it is, then! Want another mega whipped cream bun?
Beatrix: I do! But, hey, Zeta? Why did you help me?
Beatrix: I mean, just look at me—I look like trouble. Weren't you at least a bit suspicious?
Zeta: Huh? Well... yeah, you do look a little shady. Not just your clothes, but that bullet wound too.
Zeta: But you also seem like you're from a pretty decent background. Seeing a girl like you in this state, I just felt bad for you.
Beatrix: F-felt bad for me?
Beatrix's brows twitch in response.
Beatrix: Take that back! I'm not someone to be pitied!
Beatrix: I could have handled things myself without your help!
Zeta: Excuse me? That's a fine way to talk after being rescued!
Zeta: No way you could have managed alone—you were totally out of it!
Zeta: That's it. You're coming to my place next. I'm washing those filthy clothes and getting you cleaned up, whether you like it or not!
Beatrix: Wha... That's none of your business! I don't need your charity! I can take care of myself just fine!
Trading barbs, the two glare fiercely at each other for a while.
Then Zeta thrusts a finger at Beatrix.
Zeta: Fine, let's have a contest. If you're not as miserable as you say, then go ahead, prove it.
Beatrix: Huh?
Zeta: I'm a waitress here. Starting tomorrow, you come see me at this shop every day.
Zeta: If you show up looking put together and your life is in order, then you win.
Zeta: If you want, I'll even help you find a job and a place to live... Think you can handle that challenge?
Beatrix: Bring it on! I accept!
After that, Beatrix starts showing up at the shop every day while working a job Zeta helped her get with the town watch.
At first, the two argue a lot, but little by little, Beatrix and Zeta become friends.
Beatrix: You've really done all kinds of jobs, huh, Zeta...
Beatrix: Even though we're the same age, it feels like you've got way more experience than me.
Zeta: My parents said I should get a taste of the real world, so I've just been dabbling in anything and everything, really.
Zeta: Hey, Beatrix, do you have any dreams for the future? Like, if you enjoy making sweets so much, why not become a pastry chef?
Beatrix: A pastry chef, huh...
Beatrix's Father: Looks like you have a talent not only for being a fine noble, but for making sweets as well.
Beatrix: Yeah... it does sound like good work, but it's not what I need to do right now.
Beatrix: I have to get stronger as soon as I can and find my parents' killers.
Zeta: Hmm... Then how about working as a mercenary or joining a skyfarer crew?
Zeta: Although, judging from what people in the town watch say about you, I'm not sure you're really cut out for that kind of thing.
Zeta: They claim you just charge in to every incident on your own, get hurt, resolve the mess, and come back like nothing happened.
Beatrix: A-as long as I solve the problem, who cares how I did it! I just happen to be the first to go in and clear the way for everyone!
Zeta: Ahaha! Well, if you can actually get results, I guess that's its own kind of talent!
About half a year after Beatrix and Zeta first meet, the time comes for them to part ways.
Beatrix: Zeta! Is it true you've accepted that offer to become a knight?
Zeta: Yeah, it's true. I figured it was about time I tried some work that let me fight for a living.
Zeta: Are you... maybe feeling a little lonely?
Beatrix: Ugh... Sh-shut up! I mean... yeah... I guess I am...
Zeta: Ahaha. Hey, if I get some vacation time, maybe I'll come back to this island and visit you.
Beatrix: Nah, I'm leaving this island too. I've pretty much found all the info I can get here.
Beatrix: I'm going back on the road—hopping islands and chasing down clues on my parents' killers, just like before.
Zeta: So you'll be out seeking vengeance again... I hope it all works out in the end.
Zeta: Don't do anything reckless, Bea. And let's get tea together again if we run into each other somewhere, okay?
Beatrix: Yeah! Same to you, Zeta—stay safe out there!
Beatrix and Zeta share a firm handshake before going their separate aways.
With renewed resolve, Beatrix continues the search for those who ruined her family.
