I am...

As he travels in search of the Phoenix, Bennu spots a red object in the sky and leaps to investigate. It turns out to be Santa Claus, who, startled by the primal beast's sudden appearance, is thrown off route and nearly crashes. Feeling responsible, Bennu volunteers to help make up for lost time. Calling himself "Bennu Claus," he sets off with a sack of presents in hand.

On the holy night...
Santa visits (Captain)'s airship.
Santa Claus: Ho, ho, ho! It's been a while. Have you been well?
Lyria: Of course! You look as good as ever yourself, Santa!
Vyrn: What's up? You should be so busy tonight, so why'd you come here?
Santa Claus: I have something to ask of you. You see, there's been some trouble and my deliveries are running late.
Vyrn: Trouble? What kind?
Bennu: I thought this looked familiar. So, it's your airship.
Vyrn: Bennu? What're you doing here?
Lyria: Bennu, do you and Santa know each other?
Bennu: No. We just met.
Bennu: And my being here is coincidence. Let me start from the beginning.
Bennu: Nothing today, either. You don't show yourself so easily, Phoenix.
Bennu, one of the Diviners created from the ashes of the sun creature, the Phoenix.
The Diviners roam the land with the mission of tracking down and capturing the Phoenix.
Bennu: Fine, then. It's clear that capturing it won't be a simple task.
Bennu: We've just got to keep up our pursuit...
Bennu: ...Hm?
Bennu: (What's that red object flying in the sky?)
Bennu: (I don't sense the Phoenix, but this piques my interest. I'll go check.)
Bennu: Hmph!
Santa Claus: Tonight is just so busy. Now, the next island is—
Bennu: You!
Hold it right there!
Santa Claus: Huh? Wh-what?
Bennu: Who are you? State your name.
Santa Claus: M-my name? But wait, how did you get up—
Just as Santa tries to answer, his sleigh loses balance and starts falling.
Santa Claus: No! It can't take much more!
Santa makes an emergency landing on a nearby island to avoid crashing.
Santa Claus: Oh, that was close.
Bennu: Are you unhurt, old man?
Santa Claus: Yes, I'm fine. But now my gift deliveries will be late.
Bennu: Delivering gifts? What gifts?
Santa Claus: Everything I've got in this bag.
Santa opens his bag to reveal a huge amount of boxes.
Santa Claus: My purpose in life is to hand out these gifts to all the children in the skies and to bring smiles to their faces.
Bennu: Hmmm, so human children enjoy receiving boxes. What a curious people.
Santa Claus: No, no. The gifts are inside. Giving someone just a box would probably make them cry.
Santa Claus: What to do, though...
Hmmm. I'll ask those young ones.
Santa Claus: Excuse me, but can I ask for your help? I want you to take me to see an acquaintance of mine.
Bennu: Hmph, very well. While I meant no harm, I am at fault.
Bennu: Who is this acquaintance, then?
Bennu: And so that's what happened. I was shocked to see that his acquaintance was you.
Vyrn: Good grief. Santa got dragged into yet another mess.
Santa Claus: I'm sorry to be so abrupt, but will you help me?
Vyrn: You don't might, right, (Captain)? We've helped him out before.
Bennu: Regarding that. Why don't I undertake this task in the Singularity's stead?
Lyria: Bennu? You?
Bennu: I was the one who caused all this. It's only reasonable that I take on the job of fixing it.
Vyrn: Uh-huh...
You're a pretty principled primal beast aren't ya, just like back during that sumo warrior thing.
Bennu: Don't get the wrong idea.
Bennu: Before coming here, this old man calling himself Santa told me that his job was terribly physically taxing.
Bennu: Therefore, it could help me grow somewhat as a warrior if I were to experience it... That's all I was thinking.
Vyrn: Aw, c'mon, Benny, don't hide it. You really just want to give out gifts, right?
Bennu: My name is Bennu! Do you want to be crushed by my mighty grip?
Vyrn: I-I was just kidding! Geez, he's scary.
Lyria: I think everything will work out with Bennu on the job.
Lyria: After all, he took the time to help me train in sumo wrestling back then!
Vyrn: Well, at least I don't think he'd leave any work half finished.
  1. We're counting on you.
  2. It's a tough job!

Choose: We're counting on you.

Bennu: I will not betray your expectations! Everything's in good hands!

Choose: It's a tough job!

Bennu: I knew that from the start! Hearing it again only makes me more determined!

Santa Claus: If that's what you say, maybe I should take your word for it. I'll entrust the job to you.
Bennu: Right! Leave everything to me!
Santa Claus: Here you go, then. Take my list of deliveries and my gifts. Thank you so much.
Bennu: Wait. I am missing something important.
Santa Claus: Oh? What might that be?
Bennu: The garments of Santa Claus, of course.
Vyrn: What in the world?
Bennu: I believe if I am to become Santa, to truly know him from within, I must first know him from without.
Santa Claus: Ho, ho, ho, I see, I see! I think I had my elves prepare some extra clothes for me.
Santa Claus: Some might not fit, but take your pick.
Bennu: Very well.
After comparing several outfits, Bennu eventually comes to a decision...
Bennu: I choose this outfit!
Lyria: Wooow, you look great! Way different than normal!
Vyrn: It's not really... Santa-like. Why'd you pick that one?
Bennu: This bushtit bird mask caught my eye.
Lyria: Those are those tiny white birds, right?
Bennu: Indeed. The noble long-tailed bushtit that this mask resembles is a rare sort that lives only in cold regions.
Bennu: Their downy, snow-white feathers have given them the nickname "snow fairies," and it is said that meeting one leads to happiness.
Bennu: For this reason, they are also known as the bringers of blessings.
Bennu: And what brings happiness to the children on this night? Nothing but gifts, you might say.
Bennu: Thus, I believe that this noble garb is suitable for Santa Claus to bring gifts to them on this night!
Vyrn: Whoa, you weren't just picking randomly. You really thought about it. I'm impressed.
Lyria: Bennu, you know your stuff! Do you like birds?
Bennu: Ah, you wish to hear me speak of birds?
Vyrn: No, that's not what I—
Bennu: Then open your ears and hearts to me as I relate to you the splendor and mysteries of the avian—
Vyrn: Um, maybe next time! If you finish the job quickly, you'll have all the time in the world to tell us later!
Bennu: You disappoint me. But it's as you say. I must be going.
Santa Claus: Well, let's get going and restart the gift-giving.
Lyria: Be careful, you two!
Vyrn: You can do it, Benny!
Bennu: Do not call be Benny! I am Bennu.
No, I am...
Bennu: Bennu Claus!
Bennu shouts with great vigor, as if rousing himself before a battle.
With the bag of gifts tightly in hand, he sets off to deliver them.
