Money Is Life
To pay back her debt to Sierokarte, Cendrillon joins (Captain)'s crew. Her first task is cleaning the ship, but instead she spends her time finding loose change on the floor and various keepsakes the other crew members lost. After being caught slacking off, she apologizes by returning the money and items to (Captain), but runs off when she's told to redo the cleaning.
On a day like any other, the sun shines warm and bright over the Grandcypher.
But soon a familiar shadow falls over the ship's deck.
Cendrillon: Guess who!
Lyria: Llon? What are you doing here?
Llon—short for Cendrillon—is a mascot that Sierokarte created for her theme park.
Due to a series of unfortunate events, Cendrillon struck out on her own not too long after she was made.
She ended up taking over an uninhabited island and creating her own army of poppets, out of a misplaced grudge against Sierokarte.
However, thanks to (Captain) and friends, the misunderstanding was cleared up, and Cendrillon and Sierokarte were able to make amends.
Vyrn: Aren't you supposed to be with the Knickknack Shack right now, apologizin' to all the people you caused trouble for?
Vyrn: Don't tell me you came here to procrastinate.
Cendrillon: Hah, as if! Do you think Siero would let me escape that easily?
Cendrillon: Here, she wrote me a letter of introduction!
Lyria: Hm... This does look like her handwriting!
Lyria: It says that she wants Llon to work on our ship.
Vyrn: Uh, aren't you supposed to be the Knickknack's mascot?
Vyrn: Why would she make you work somewhere else?
Cendrillon: I can explain! Let's go back to when Siero and I were in the middle of apologizing to people...
Cendrillon: Wait, what's this notice... "Amount Owed by Cendrillon"...
Cendrillon: Ones, tens, hundreds... Oh no...
Cendrillon: S-Siero? Wh-wh-what is the meaning of this?
Sierokarte: It's exactly as you imagine it to be.
Sierokarte: That's why I'm looking forward to seeing you pay back the sum in full.
Cendrillon: Siero pretended to forgive me, but she had a whole bill listing all the damages I caused!
Cendrillon: Now she's milking me for all I'm worth to pay everything back.
Vyrn: Oof. Not gonna lie, that sounds exactly like something she'd do...
Vyrn: Is that why she sent you here? To scrounge up money to pay off your debt?
Cendrillon: It's what she suggested! Since you guys travel all over for requests...
Cendrillon: I'll have plenty of opportunities to make some rupies and learn about the world at the same time!
Cendrillon: So please, (Captain)! Won't you let me join your crew?
Vyrn: Yeah, after everything the Knickknack Shack's done for us, this is the least we can do. Besides, no reason to say no.
Vyrn: Look forward to working with you, Cendrillon!
Cendrillon: Yay! I knew you'd understand, (Captain)!
Cendrillon: Whatever you need doing, I'll get it done! But in return, you better pile on the rewards!
Cendrillon: Aw, come on, don't be like that, (Captain)!
Cendrillon: Siero might bonk me real hard if you guys send me back to her!
Lyria: B-bonk? I don't think Siero would do something like that...
Lyria: But I can tell you're pretty serious about wanting to join.
Cendrillon: I sure am! So how about it, (Captain)? Pretty please?
Seeing how desperate Cendrillon is, (Captain) relents and agrees to let her into the crew.
Vyrn: You better be prepared to put in the work if you want your paycheck.
Cendrillon: Haha, don't you worry! A beauty like me can handle everything from advertising to beating up baddies in battle!

Cendrillon: So what'll my first job be? Are there any monsters that need handling? Leave them to me!
Vyrn: Uh... It's nice that you wanna get right to it, but we don't have any urgent requests to take care of.
Vyrn: The only thing we can assign to you now is... cleaning the ship, I guess?
Cendrillon: Cleaning the ship? There's no money to be made from that! I don't wanna!
Vyrn: Hey, it's still an important job that needs doing.
Lyria: That's right! It's a task we can only hand out to people we trust!
Lyria: I know a hard worker like you will make the ship spotless, Llon!
Cendrillon: Me, a hard worker? Is that how you see me...
Cendrillon: I guess I wouldn't want to disappoint... Fine, I'll do it.
Lyria: Really? Oh, thank you, Llon!
Vyrn: Sheesh, that was easy... But it worked, so I shouldn't complain.
Cendrillon: What're you muttering about? Enough standing around! Show me where you need cleaning!
In extremely high spirits, Cendrillon follows (Captain) and friends to the storage room.
But Cendrillon's will to work doesn't last very long.
Cendrillon: Sigh, what a pain in the butt. This is so boring, and there's no rupies to be made...
Cendrillon: It's only a little dusty in here too. I can't tell what's been cleaned and what hasn't.
Cendrillon: I can probably slack off, since the others aren't watching...
Cendrillon leans back against a mountain of cargo.
Cendrillon: If only I could at least get a few rupies for every floor plank I cleaned...
Cendrillon: Whoa! Was that... what I think it was?
Jumping to attention, the mascot picks up the object that had fallen to the ground.
Cendrillon: A coin... I wonder if someone lost it while they were lugging stuff around.
Cendrillon: With how big the ship is and how many crew members there are, there's probably lots of change lying around, actually...
Cendrillon: Which is free for the taking if someone decided to search for it all, right?
Cendrillon: This is no time to be sitting around! I gotta search every nook and cranny of the room!
Vyrn: All right! The hallways are squeaky clean!
Vyrn: The only place left is the deck now, yeah?
Lyria: Yeah, since Llon is taking care of the storage room.
Lyria: I hope she hasn't worked too hard and exhausted herself. Should we ask her to take a break with us?
Vyrn: She's taking so long, I bet she's just slacking off instead...
Vyrn: Well, if she's seriously working, it's about time to slack off anyway. Let's check in on her!
Lyria: Llon, let's take a breather together! Would you like some tea and snacks?
Cendrillon: I appreciate the offer, but I'm a little busy right now!
Cendrillon: By the way, do you have any other places you need cleaned? Anywhere at all?
Lyria: O-oh, um... Only the deck is left. Everywhere else is tidied up.
Vyrn: You are weirdly excited about doing more work, considering how you were complaining earlier.
Cendrillon: I-I just want to do my best for my crew!
Cendrillon: So leave the deck to me! See ya!
Vyrn: I don't trust this one bit... We should make sure she's doing a proper job.
With Lyria and (Captain) in agreement, the group follows sneakily behind Cendrillon.
Soon, they arrive at the deck.
Cendrillon: Another coin for me! Who knew the Grandcypher was a prime hunting ground?
Cendrillon: I feel like there's more treasure out there though... Maybe between the planks?
Lyria: She's picking up change off the floor instead of cleaning...
Vyrn: Of course she is... This calls for a stern talking-to, (Captain)!
Vyrn: Hey, Cendrillon!
Cendrillon: H-huh? What're you all doing here?
Cendrillon: As you can see, I'm properly tidying up—
Cendrillon: What? Where? I don't see it!
Cendrillon: Ah... You got me good!
Cendrillon: Urgh... Nothing gets past you or Siero, huh?
Choose: What's in your pocket?
Cendrillon: Wh-what do you mean? Just hopes and dreams, like usual!
Vyrn: I dunno who you're trying to fool, but we can hear the rupies jingling in there.
Cendrillon: I-isn't that the sound of hopes and dreams for you guys too?
Cendrillon: Urgh... Guess it's time to come clean.

Cendrillon: This is all the change I found lying around the ship. Here, you can have it back. Happy?
Vyrn: Whoa... I'm actually kind of amazed you gathered so much.
Cendrillon: Also, you can probably sell these and make a couple rupies.
Reluctantly, Cendrillon lays out several other objects in front of (Captain).
Lyria: Isn't this... the knife that Katalina was looking for?
Lyria: I remember her saying she lost it not long after she used it for unpacking.
Vyrn: And this earring here is the one Io lost, yeah? She stirred up such a fuss trying to find it.
Vyrn: Can't believe it was stuck between the boards of the deck this whole time.
Cendrillon: I had no idea these were so important to the others. Sorry for suggesting you sell them.
Cendrillon: I'm really sorry in general, so please don't kick me out of the crew...
As Cendrillon looks down nervously, (Captain) and the other two exchange glances.
Vyrn: Eh, we'll let you off the hook this time. You did return a couple of valuables.
Lyria: Thanks to you, the others can finally have them back! I know they're going to be so happy!
Cendrillon: They're going to be happy... because of something I did?
Cendrillon: Hehe, that kind of makes me happy too...
Realizing she's being complimented, Cendrillon begins to smile.
But the joy is short-lived as Vyrn taps her on the shoulder.
Vyrn: You're still going to have to redo your cleaning though.
Cendrillon: What? I already did everything once! Why do I have to do it again?
Vyrn: All you did was scrape up rupies! You didn't wipe a single speck of dirt!
Vyrn: Don't think you can slack off this time either! We'll be watching!
Cendrillon: Grrr... If I can't even gather coins while I'm at it, what's the point?
Cendrillon: I have no choice but to go with my secret strategy...
Cendrillon: Running away!
Vyrn: H-hey, get back here!
Lyria: Ahaha... I have a feeling the ship's about to be even livelier than before.
Lyria and (Captain) smile as they watch the scene unfold.
Meanwhile, Cendrillon makes a desperate dash away, with Vyrn hot on her trail.
