A Whole New Hype

Chloe and Mahira have gotten to know each other better through a certain fashion fiasco. One day, the two save an elderly lady from an attacking monster. When Mahira and the lady tell Chloe how heroic she looked, Chloe reaffirms her desire to become a real hero someday. After that, the two friends visit a shop where Mahira picks up several mechanical parts for her latest project. She teaches Chloe about the significance of even the smallest parts and invites Chloe to her workshop.

Chloe and Mahira are sharing a room together during an extended stay at Port Breeze to organize supplies.

After the fashion fiasco, the two have gotten even closer to each other.

One day, while on the way to town for some shopping, Chloe and Mahira spy an old woman getting attacked by monsters.

Monster: Groooar!

Old Woman: Eeek!

Chloe: Oh noes! Granny's in trouble!

Chloe: Take thaaat!

Chloe: Granny, you okay? You're safe now!

Old Woman: Ahh... Thank you so much.

Mahira: It looks like these monsters from the forest somehow strayed into town.

Mahira: Cock-a-doodle-dum. Wing-a-doodle-fly.

After Mahira uses her powers to send the monsters flying back to the forest, the group releases a collective sigh of relief.

Old Woman: You two truly saved me. I don't know what I would've done otherwise.

Chloe: Ehehe... That was all Mahi though! She's flinging those baddies around like no one's business!

Old Woman: Please, there's no need to be so humble. You ran over to save me without a second thought.

Old Woman: You were like a hero out of a fairy tale when you shielded me from the monster. You looked so tall and strong.

Chloe: You totes get it! I'm pretty proud of my figure—

Chloe: Wait, hold up! Me, a hero? Like, seriously?

Mahira: Chloe, didn't you say you wanted to be a hero that can protect your village?

Chloe: Uh-huh! (*´艸`)
Like, it's a lil' embarrassing talking about this, but I wanna make sure my mom's feelin' safe all the time.

Mahira: The bravery you showed today was definitely heroic.

Chloe: ZOMG, did my fave Mahi just compliment me? Oh my gosh, you're gonna make me blush!

Chloe: But what I really wanna be is a superhero like (Captain)!

Chloe: So like, I've still got a long way to go. I mean, if I wanna beat up all the baddies, I need to get even stronger.

Mahira: Even stronger?

Chloe: Yup! Just watch—I'm gonna get like, so huge. Been pumping iron and working out every day. lol

After safely escorting the old woman back to town, Chloe and Mahira begin browsing shops.

Mahira: Sorry, do you mind if I stop here?

Mahira pauses in front of a shop crammed with various machine components.

Chloe: Oh, you wanna buy some parts?

Mahira: Yes. I'm missing some parts for a project I'm currently working on. Perhaps I'll find something here.

She begins going through a small box near the shop front that's packed with a large amount of screws.

Chloe: Whoa, check out all these screws! There's boxes and boxes of like, the same stuff!

Mahira: Actually, if you look carefully, the screws in the other boxes are different in size and shape. Here, take a look.

Chloe: Oooh, okay yeah. If I look reeeal close I can see they're totes diff. How'd you tell them apart so fast, Mahi?

Mahira: Once you get used to it, you'll be able to spot the difference right away. To be honest, I have the same issue with lipstick—everything looks the same to me...

Chloe: Oh my gosh, that shopping trip we did before was sooo fun! (*´艸`)
But maybe you're right—lipstick colors are a toughie.

Mahira: Aha, I think I can use this one. There's a few other parts that I'd like to try as well...

A few minutes later, Mahira comes back with one of the small screws and several other components.

Mahira: Even though everything I've purchased here is small, they all have an important role to play in supporting the overall machine.

Mahira: They're all heroes in their own ways.

Chloe: A small hero, huh... I totally dig it.

Chloe: And y'know what else? I love hearing you talk about machines!

Chloe: I don't get everything you say, but there's like, something special about seeing my baby girl's face light up!

Mahira: Really?

Mahira: Then, in that case... Would you like to see my project, Clucket prototype 28?

Chloe: Oh mah gawsh! Σ(ﾟﾛﾟ｣)
Whatever that is, I'm totes down!

Mahira: You taught me about the world of fashion at Port Breeze, after all.

Mahira: I'd be happy to show you the world of machines in return.

Chloe: Really! Aww, bestie, you're gonna make me cry!

Chloe: You have, like, no idea how hyped I am about this! (≧▽≦)

And so, Chloe follows Mahira to her workshop to see what she's been tinkering on.
