Beyond the Trial

The Inchoate World unleashes his full power to overcome the trial that is the crew. A final showdown ensues.

Inchoate World: You've come.
By tracking the aura of the Inchoate World, the crew finally reaches the center of this realm.
The Inchoate World looks down on the crew as he speaks, a hint of surprise in his breath.
Inchoate World: How strangely comforting... Though you obstacles in my path normally fill me with disgust...
Inchoate World: Seeing you as a trial meant to be overcome fills me with pride and joy.
Inchoate World: The face of fate changes depending on your interpretation. And my interpretation has led me to birth a new world.
Inchoate World: You are nothing but nuisances now—stepping stones on my path to world creation... That is how I define your fates.
Geisenborger: Humph, your end goals couldn't matter less to us. I only care to smash your face in and watch you wither in pain.
Inchoate World: To war is to follow the providence of life... I have no intention of eradicating war in my newly created world.
Geisenborger: Oh?
Inchoate World: If it is a battlefield you seek, then you should feel right at home in my new world.
Inchoate World: I'll set you up with every sort of scenario you could possibly want. Let your strength become the wheel that keeps the new world spinning.
Geisenborger: What insolence! You will make a mockery of this Chariot no longer!
Geisenborger: Any flimsy test bed of a war zone you come up with wouldn't even be worth trampling!
The Star: But hadst thou not enjoyed The World's battlefield earlier?
Geisenborger: I-I had no choice in that! Heck, I thought you were on my side!
Inchoate World: What a difficult Chariot to read. Despite your vehement display of anger, you still exhibit a touch of drollery.
Geisenborger: Humph... I won't deny it.
Geisenborger: Traveling with these youths while the polestar clings to me has changed me, for better or worse.
Inchoate World: It seems you are no longer the Chariot that yearns for nothing more than battle...
Inchoate World: The time has come to bury you all as wretched artifacts of the old world!
Fierce winds begin to blow around them, causing the various colors to converge on the Inchoate World.
As he is encased in what appears to be some sort of cocoon, Lyria audibly gasps.
Lyria: Watch out! The Inchoate World is getting stronger!
Inchoate World: You antiquated relics will become the cornerstone of the new world. For that is your fate; that is providence.
Inchoate World: You have no future beyond today. Your destinies end here. I shall wipe away your very souls from existence!

Beyond the Trial: Scene 2

The crew finally defeats the Inchoate World and returns to the Sky Realm. Unbeknownst to all, Geisenborger's old suit of armor is set to stir up the next series of events involving the Evoker.

Inchoate World: Rgh!
Inchoate World: Impossible! I should be the one who decides destiny!
Inchoate World: All trials succumb before me... Your defeat here was supposed to mark the celebration of the new world's creation...
Inchoate World: But yet... how is it that mortals of the old world have bested me!
Geisenborger: Polestar, let us end this infernal "world" in one final blow.
The Star: Ready...
Both: Haaaah!
The attack unleashed by the pair pierces through the Inchoate World.
Inchoate World: Gwaaah!
Inchoate World: Damn you... Damn you all! How could I lose...
Inchoate World: What of my new world!
His hands reach out, only to grasp at thin air. Cracks begin to form all over the Inchoate World's body.
Inchoate World: Guuuuh!
With a deafening roar, the Inchoate World lets out a flash of light followed by a harsh noise that stains the world white.
Geisenborger: This is... our base of operations...
Vyrn: What happened to us? The Inchoate World's...
Now that the white light has subsided, the crew find themselves collapsed on the Grandcypher's deck.
The ominous sphere is no longer in sight, replaced by pristine blue skies stretching in every direction.
The Star: I sense The World no longer... His presence hath vanished.
Geisenborger: Good...
Geisenborger looks up to the skies above.
Geisenborger: Polestar... Do you remember what the starry skies looked like the day you fell on the battlefield?
The Star: Of course... How could I ever forget...
Primal Beast: Oh, glorious stars of the heavens...
Primal Beast: Let us revel together... in glory once more...
The Star: Surely thou rememberest it clear as day too.
Geisenborger: ...
Geisenborger: Stars, blazing across the heavens... Listen to my ode to thee... See me returned gloriously to my kingdom...
The Star: I am thou, thou art I... I understand thy reasoning.
Geisenborger: Okay... You see what I'm getting at, then?
Geisenborger: The strife is over. We can now raise a toast and revel in our newfound victory together.
The Star: That sounds good.
Vyrn: Did someone mention a toast? You can count us in!
Geisenborger: The toast I speak of is for those who shared a bond on that fateful day!
  1. Don't be a fuddy-duddy!

Choose: Don't be a fuddy-duddy!

Geisenborger: Well, I suppose it's all right...
Lyria: Hooray! Let's get everything ready!
Geisenborger: Sigh...
Geisenborger shrugs his shoulders with a not-entirely-displeased grin.
Monika's Voice: Hey! Is everyone okay?
An echoing voice calls for the crew.
Turning to the voice reveals Monika and Lecia leaning over the deck railing of their approaching airship.
Vyrn: Guess those guys came to check things out now that the sphere's gone, huh.
Lyria: Mm-hm! We're all safe and sound!
Seeing (Captain) and company jovially wave their hands, Geisenborger lets out a sigh.
The Star: By the by... Thy armor remainest intact despite our departure from the spherical world.
Geisenborger: Yeah, it did, didn't it... No clue why though...
Geisenborger: Hahah! Perhaps this armor is meant to lead me to a battlefield of even greater bedlam than any I've ever experienced!
The Star: Geisenborger?
Geisenborger: Yes, Polestar?
The Star: ...
Geisenborger: Wait a second... Did you call me by name just now?
Geisenborger: Humph... When did you start acting all chummy like a man's best friend?
The crew has saved the Sky Realm by thwarting the Inchoate World's ambitions.
By besting this common enemy, the Evoker and primal feel as if their bond has reached a new stage.
Old Armor: ...
However, the dull shine of Geisenborger's old armor suggests something ominous still looms on the horizon.
