The Best Kind of Happy
At the festival, a fashion show is announced. When an interested Korwa approaches the stage, the staff ask for help with the giant crabs that have overtaken the dressing room. The crew obliges.
In Auguste's Venera Beach, (Captain) and company are enjoying the summer festival on the final day of their vacation.
For now, the world fades as Vyrn grips the scooping tool at the goldfish stall, the surrounding eyes all watching in quiet anticipation.
Vyrn: Sheesh, can't these goldfish just sit still for a second? How's anyone supposed to scoop 'em up like this!
Ladiva: Smaller ones are hard to aim for, while bigger ones tear through the net right away... Goldfish scooping can be surprisingly tricky.
Lyria: Vyrn, this is your last scoop! No more chances after this...
Vyrn: Yeah, I know! Gah, why's it so hard to pick the right goldfish to go after!
Korwa: Why not try the bright red one? Its movements seem a bit slower than the rest. It must be feeling sluggish from eating so much bait.
Vyrn: You sure? All right, I'm trusting you on this, Korwa!
Korwa: Of course! That's what I'm here for!
Vyrn: Okay... Here goes nothing!
Vyrn: Whoa! I did it! Thanks for the advice!
Korwa: You're very welcome. I happen to have an eye for these things.
Lyria: Korwa, you're so dependable!
Korwa: Haha. In a way, I put myself into the goldfish's mindset. I imagined its life story to understand it better.
Vyrn: Yeah? I guess you fashionistas got a unique way of seeing things.
After that brief exchange, the crew heads to the next stall—a shooting gallery.
Noticing that something has caught Lyria's eye, Korwa picks up a rifle and takes aim at the prize.
Vyrn: Aww, missed!
Korwa: We're not done yet! I'll get it next shot—no, next two!
Lyria: Wow, you're amazing, Korwa! I can't believe you won the prize on that second shot!
Korwa: Here, take it! I think this hairpin would look great on you, Lyria!
Lyria: Huh, are you sure? Um... Did you realize I was looking at this?
Korwa: Haha, I couldn't help but notice how captivated you looked—you were adorable!
Lyria: Ehehe... How embarrassing...
Korwa: There's nothing to be embarrassed about! A hairpin you found at a summer festival makes for such a lovely story, don't you think?
Korwa: That's why I just had to get it for you, Lyria. Here's hoping I get to see you wear it soon.
Lyria: Korwa... thank you so much! I'll treasure it forever!
The crew leisurely wander from stall to stall, enjoying their time at the summer festival.
Vyrn: Phew, what a blast! My stomach's growlin' from all the fun and games though.
Lyria: Me too! Why don't we all go and get some food from the stalls?
Ladiva: Sure! People walking around with plates are coming from that direction, which is where the food vendors must be!
Korwa: Mm, so many delicious smells wafting in the air...
Korwa: I can't wait to dig in! We've got to check out all the food stalls!
Vyrn: You bet! I'm ready to eat it all!
Lyria: C'mon, (Captain)!
Starting from one end of the food stall corner and making their way to the other, they begin savoring the many delicious offerings.
Vyrn: Whoa... This candy apple might be the highlight of my day!
Lyria: Nom... This yakisoba is delicious! I can see why so many people were lining up for it!
Meanwhile, Ladiva and Korwa each take a bite of grilled crab. The overwhelming flavor causes them to exchange surprised glances.
Ladiva: My goodness, it's so delectably juicy!
Korwa: It really is! I wonder how they catch such fresh, tasty crabs?
Ladiva: From what I know, crabs this size require the use of basket traps—which are essentially mini-tents with bait inside 'em.
Korwa: Yeah? You mean like camping tents?
Ladiva: Mm-hm! It enters from the hole on top, and once the crab is lured inside by the bait, it can't get back out.
Korwa: I see... It's kind of sad for the crab, yet it's incredibly delicious, so I'll have to live with it!
Korwa: Though I have to say it's impressive how much you know about not just cooking but fishing as well, Ladiva.
Ladiva: Well, good food has this magical way of making people happy, wouldn't you say?
Ladiva: When I think about that happiness, I can't help but wonder—where does it come from? I get curious about the story behind the food.
Korwa: I know the feeling! I often find myself researching things like where the fabrics for clothing are sourced—it's easy to get completely hooked!
Korwa: And before you know it, you've broadened your horizons with so much new knowledge.
Korwa: Just goes to show how much you can learn when you pour your heart into something you truly love.
A cheery announcement suddenly echoes from the plaza.
Host: The fashion show on the outdoor stage will begin shortly! You won't want to miss it!
Korwa: A fashion show! On an outdoor stage?
Korwa: Oh my gosh, that sounds like so much fun! Come on, let's go check it out!
As Korwa's eyes gleam with excitement, the crew approaches the stage and notices staff members in a frantic rush.
Vyrn: What's going on? Doesn't look like the usual pre-show chaos, does it?
Host: From the looks of your equipment, you must be skyfarers!
Host: Please, we could use your help! It's a disaster!
Host: Some giant crabs somehow snuck into the backstage tent... They're wreaking havoc in there!
Korwa: In the dressing tent?
Lyria: Giant crabs?
Vyrn: We just finished eating crab a minute ago though!
Korwa: Surely it wasn't giant crab, right? But that's besides the point right now!
Korwa: This is bad—if the dressing room is ruined, the entire fashion show will be a mess!
Ladiva: Wait, is that them? Look over there—you can just see them moving from over the top of the tent!
Giant Crabs: Shrr-shrr-shrrt!
Vyrn: Whoa... those things are huge! I bet they'd sure make for a good meal though.
Korwa: (Captain)! We need to step in!
Korwa: We can't let all the prep for the fashion show go to waste—it's time to teach those crabs a lesson!
The crew prepares to confront the massive crabs that have claimed the backstage dressing room as their personal playground.
The Best Kind of Happy: Scene 2
The crabs are driven off, but the dressing room is now in ruins. Korwa encourages the performers and assists with repairs. When more giant crabs come attacking, (Captain) and Ladiva fight them off so Korwa can stay behind for the show.
Although the crew successfully fends off the giant crabs, the dressing room is left in complete disarray.
Host: This is bad... With things in this state, holding a show hardly seems feasible...
The costumes are severely damaged, and performer morale has hit rock bottom.
Performer: We worked so hard making the costumes and practicing for today. But I don't know anymore...
Seeing the performers so disheartened, Korwa can't help but step forward.
Korwa: Hold on a second! You guys can't lose heart from a little accident like this!
Performer: But the costumes are in tatters. Repairing them in time seems impossible... and, honestly, we've lost the motivation to even try...
Korwa: It's not too late to turn this around! Let's all work together to fix them!
Korwa: Here, use this handkerchief to dry your tears!
Flashing a warm smile, Korwa hands a handkerchief with simple embroidery to one of the performers.
Performer: What beautiful embroidery... It makes me feel so... calm. Oddly enough, my mind is clearing up...
Korwa: (Having them wear something I've personally worked on should move their hearts, even if just a little...)
Korwa: (Please, let this cheer you up! It'd be such a waste to just give up!)
Korwa: Haha, any chance you're feeling a tiny bit of determination to give it a shot after all?
Performer: Yes. I feel like... I can give it my all to ensure the show is a success!
Ladiva: That's the spirit! Please, let me help too—I'm quite handy with a needle and thread!
Lyria: We'd be more than happy to lend a hand too!
Thanks to Korwa's subtle magic, the performer regains her positivity. Her renewed spirit spreads to everyone around her.
Through a whirlwind of repair work, the costumes are restored to the point where the performers are ready to take the stage again.
Korwa: Phew, we made it just in time! They look absolutely fantastic!
Performer: Thank you so much, everyone! It's thanks to you we made it this far!
Korwa: Break a leg. I can already tell you guys are gonna be amazing!
Performer: Korwa, your sewing might as well be magic with how fast and precise it is!
Host: And Ladiva, thank you so much for your help in mending the costumes and reorganizing the dressing room!
Ladiva: Haha, don't mention it. This is exactly the time to roll up my sleeves and help with love!
Korwa: Ultimately, it was everyone's passion for the show that brought these costumes back to life. We just gave a little extra support.
Performer: The courage you instilled in us played no small part! We'll return the favor with a spectacular performance!
Host: Yes, we'll give it everything we've got to honor your kindness!
Vyrn: You can practically feel the pride and passion oozing off 'em. We could learn a thing or two from that.
Lyria: It's really inspiring, isn't it? I feel like I want to work harder on cooking and cleaning aboard the Grandcypher too!
Just as the show is about to begin, another commotion arises in the dressing room.
Host: It's terrible! The giant crabs that got away earlier have come back... and they brought their friends!
Vyrn: Aw crud!
Ladiva: At this rate, the dressing room is going to be a mess again!
Lyria: Everyone put so much into repairing the costumes... If they get torn again...
Korwa: There's no way we can let that happen! I won't let them lay a single claw on the costumes or the performers!
Korwa: Let's go, (Captain)! We'll drive this swarm of giant crabs away from the dressing room!
Choose: All right, let's move!
Ladiva: But if we fight the crabs now, the show might start before we can make it back...
Lyria: Korwa, please stay here and make sure the show is a success!
Korwa: Huh? You sure you want me to stay behind?
Vyrn: Of course! You worked your butt off already! Might as well see this through and make sure the show goes off without a hitch!
Lyria: Be sure to tell us how it was later, okay?
Korwa: Why? Let me go with you!
Ladiva: Korwa, darling. Your next job is to witness the success of the show from here.
Vyrn: Exactly! Don't worry about the crab situation; we've got it under control!
Lyria: Korwa, you poured all your heart into mending those costumes and wishing for the show's success. Please see it through to the end!
Lyria: Do it for us!

Korwa: Guys...
Korwa: Thank you, I'll be right here. Please handle the giant crabs!
(Captain) and company lure the swarm of giant crabs away from the dressing room and prepare to face them head-on.
The Best Kind of Happy: Scene 3
Some crabs had snuck past (Captain) and Ladiva. Fortunately, Korwa is there to protect the dressing room. When watching fireworks later, Korwa nestles up to (Captain), saying she’s happiest with her friends.
Giant Crab: Shrr-shrr-shrrt!
Lyria: We did it! That's the last one!
As they count the number of fallen crabs, a strange feeling of unease creeps in.
Vyrn: Wait a second... Doesn't it feel like we're short a few?
Ladiva: You're right... There should definitely be more. Where could the rest have gone?
Vyrn: I've got a bad feeling about this...
Ladiva: Don't tell me... They played dead to distract us and then slipped back into the dressing room?
Ladiva: If that's the case, Korwa and everyone else back there are going to be devastated!
Lyria: This is bad... Let's hurry back to the dressing room!
The crew rushes back in a panic.
However, as they arrive at the entrance to the tent, their fears are quickly put to rest.
Giant Crabs: Shrr-shrr-shrrt...
There, standing triumphantly in front of a pile of defeated giant crabs, is Korwa.
Korwa: Phew... It was just like Ladiva said. Those crabs couldn't resist—they were practically lining up!
Lyria: Korwa? You mean, you defeated all the giant crabs that escaped by yourself?
With a relieved smile, Korwa turns toward the crew and explains what happened.
Korwa: Ladiva told me earlier how crabs are caught using tent-shaped traps with bait inside.
Korwa: After we split up, I realized this dressing room is basically a tent... and it's filled with food from the festival stalls.
Korwa: So I thought... maybe they wouldn't be able to resist their instincts and might come back here after all.
Ladiva: So you waited here all alone for the swarm of crabs to show up, instead of going to watch the show you were so excited about?
Korwa: Yep. A successful show wouldn't count for much if the performers had to return to a completely wrecked dressing room.
Vyrn: No way... You're way too cool, Korwa!
Korwa: It's nothing special, really. I'm just glad I was able to keep the dressing room tidy.
Choose: Sorry for letting a few escape.
Korwa: No apologies needed, (Captain). You did your part too.
Korwa: Plus you knew I was looking forward to the show and tried to let me enjoy it.
Korwa: Thanks, it really meant a lot to me. And now I've returned the favor.
Korwa: I'm fine. Just a couple of scratches—nothing serious at all.
Korwa: Though, to be completely honest, when I saw the swarm of crabs heading my way, my legs did shake a little...
Korwa: Fighting alone can be scary, huh? I've never realized that before because I always have you and the rest of the crew by my side.

Vyrn: Whew, gotta hand it to you, Korwa.
Ladiva: Hm, now I wonder if the show turned out all right in the end.
Korwa: I'm sure it was a huge success. Just look over there.
Korwa: The guests are being seen off by the performers, and they all look so pleased. You can tell they had a great time.
Lyria: Wow, you're right... You can really feel how much they enjoyed it just from their expressions.
Ladiva: That's true. But... doesn't that make you wish you could've seen the show too, Korwa?
Vyrn: Yeah... Seein' their happy faces kinda makes me feel bad for ya. Sorry we weren't more on top of things...
Korwa: Wh-what? Hey, don't get the wrong idea! I—
Just as Korwa begins to speak...
Brilliant fireworks illuminate the night sky one after another, painting the surroundings in vivid colors.
Lyria: Wow... It's already time for the fireworks!
Ladiva: They're beautiful! It feels like all the exhaustion from today is just melting away.
Korwa: It really turned into quite a day, huh. But because of everything that's happened, these feel like the most beautiful fireworks I've ever seen.
Korwa: All's well that ends well, I guess!
As Korwa's words sink in, smiles begin resurfacing on the others' faces.
Korwa: Just the fact that everyone is beaming now—that's the best happy ending anyone could ask for. Come on, cheer up and smile some more!
Vyrn: Hehe... I guess we all needed that pep talk.
Vyrn: Whoa, hey! Did you see that amazing firework just now!
Lyria: Look, there's another one! It's even brighter and lasted longer!
Ladiva: It's so bright, it may as well be daytime! How romantic... I could watch this all day.
While the crew gazes at the fireworks, Korwa quietly moves in closer to the captain.
Korwa: Hey, (Captain). About what I was trying to get at earlier...
Korwa: I wanted to say that because of you and the incredible people around you...
Korwa: I get to be a part of this journey. And I've found so much happiness along the way.
Korwa: What about you? Are you happy? Am I managing to make you feel even a tiny bit as happy as I'm feeling?
(Captain) nods silently, gazing back at Korwa.
Korwa: Good. For me... I'm as happy as I could possibly be.
Korwa: Thanks for everything. Here's hoping we have many more great times together.
(Captain) smiles at her words filled with friendship and affection.
And Korwa, inspired by the joy of today, renews her hope for tomorrow.
Korwa: Now, what should I design next? I want to spread this feeling of happiness to as many people as possible!
With the lingering joy of the festival and dreams of tomorrow in her heart, Korwa vows to continue watching over countless happy endings in the days to come.
