Until Spring Comes

The crew heads out to secure an old well for a drought-stricken village.

After a fulfilling trip back home, Lily looks forward to the next adventure.
To understand the nature of the spring endowed within (Captain), she continues her travels with the crew.
Lyria: Ungh, my skin hurts from all the dryness...
Lily: Ungh, my throats hurts from all the dryness...
Vyrn: Geez, how dry can it get? At least you're wearing a cloak! Direct sunlight makes me dizzy.
The crew pushes on against the harsh tropical climate of the island.
Even waiting under the shade in the town plaza for the client's arrival proves tiring.
Lily: (Captain), is it okay if I continue sitting on your lap?
Vyrn: Huh? Come to think of it, you haven't moved from (Captain)'s lap for a while now.
Vyrn: And you've been sticking to (Captain) like glue lately. Homesickness must've hit you hard.
Lyria: That's not it. Lily's only trying to further her studies. Right, Lily?
Lily: Yeah! This is how I'm studying spring.
Vyrn: I know that's your mission right now, but I just don't see how sitting on (Captain)'s lap helps.
Lily: Actually I'm not sure either!
Lily: But this all makes me feel like I get to know spring better.
Lily: Look, look. Watch this.
Lily gets up and walks out of the shade.
The farther away from (Captain) she gets, the more her natural frost returns.
Lily: See? I've never felt so little frost!
Lyria: Wow, that's a huge difference from when we first met you.
Vyrn: I still feel a bit of the cold, but it's not as bad as before. So you're learning how to do this from (Captain)?
Lily: Wow, wow, wow! I always knew (Captain) was amazing!
Lily runs back to (Captain).
She stops exuding frost and the hot tropical weather returns to normal.
Lily: Yay! I'm on my way to becoming spring!
Village Elder: Sorry to keep you waiting. You must be the skyfarers who responded to my request.
Lily: Erm, hello. Are you the client?
Village Elder: Ah, yes. I am the village elder here. I'd like you to take out nearby monsters.
Lyria: Sure! Have monsters been causing trouble lately?
Village Elder: Yes... The truth is this village has been suffering a terrible drought. It hasn't rained in far too long.
Village Elder: There's an old well a distance away in the wastelands, but monsters have made a nest of the area...
Vyrn: I get it now! Don't worry. We'll take care of these monsters!
Lily: Okay! Off to the wastelands!

Until Spring Comes: Scene 2

The old well of the wildlands has long dried up, putting an end to any hope the villagers had. Lily stops suppressing her frost and instead tries to unleash it in hopes of saving the village.

The crew proceeds through the wastelands while defeating monsters.
They find the old well and vanquish the monsters there too.
Lily: Whew, is that all of them?
Vyrn: Yep, I guess we've completed the assignment! Oh, look, everyone from the village came out here too!
Lyria: Teehee! I'm sure they'll be really happy to know that they'll have wat—
Lyria: N-no! How could this be...
Lily: There's no water inside?
The bottom of the well is filled with sand, making it impossible to pump up any water.
Village Elder: Hah hah hah! Thank you so much, everyone! We couldn't have done it without you.
Villager: Yeah, thanks a ton! We'll take it from here— Huh?
Vyrn: Erm, we just realized it right now too. I guess this isn't much help, huh?
Village Elder: Oh my! What will become of our village now...
Lyria: Don't you have somewhere else to pump water from? We'll help in any way we can!
Villager: Sigh... No there isn't. This was supposed to be our last hope...
Lily: Hope...
Village Elder: This must be fate... We may have to leave these lands after all.
Villager: But we've been living here for hundreds of years... How could we ever face our ancestors?
Lily: ...
Lyria: Hm? What's wrong, Lily? Going off on your own could be dangerous.
Lily: Give me a moment, Lyria. Right now these people need my power...
Lily: Hnnn!
Lily creates some distance from the crew and begins to exude frost.
It is much stronger than before, not too different from the cold the crew felt when they first met her.
Lyria: ...!
I know this chill...
Vyrn: Are you sure this is what you want, Lily? You've worked so hard to suppress it!
Lily: It's okay!
Lily: It's okay because I'm still learning from (Captain)! Besides, this is the only way to save the village right now!
Village Elder: Look at all that frost... She's no normal person, is she?
Villager: My goodness, look at those ears... Isn't she one of those so-called humanoids?
Lily: Ah ha ha...
Vyrn: Hey, stop whispering over there! Who do you think Lily's doing this for?
Monster: Groaar!
Lyria: Monsters! Watch out, Lily!
Lily: Ngh, I'm so close...

Until Spring Comes: Scene 3

Lily condenses the cold air to create rain clouds, drenching the entire area and putting an end to the drought. Her kindness and ability to control the frost will allow her to one day become the spring of Crystalia.

After defeating the monsters, Lily gets back to trying to create water by condensing the cold air around her.
In the annals of Crystalia history, there has never been one who could freely control the frost. Any attempts to do so were made in vain.
Lily: Huff... Huff...
Lyria: Lily!
Vyrn: Whoa, are you guys feeling this? The frost is getting stronger by the second!
Vyrn: But unless this turns into water, the village is done for.
Lily: It's not over yet!
Village Elder: Ahh, she seems to be transforming the cold air into water...
Villager: She looks to be in so much pain though...
Lyria: Frost isn't meant to be controlled freely, but Lily's doing her best. I hope she'll be okay...
Village Elder: Why do you try so hard for a mere assignment?
Vyrn: This is no mere assignment—not for Lily at least. She's doing this to save the village.
Villager: Tch, I'm disgusted at myself for having been afraid of you for even a second! But please, you're pushing yourself too hard!
Lily: Ahaha... Don't worry. I can do this!
Lily: I won't give up hope... And neither should you!
Lily: Aaagh!
Lily: Ugh...
Lyria: ...!
Lily, are you okay?
Vyrn: Why's it so dark all of a sudden? What in the skies is happening here?
Village Elder: It's raining! She must have summoned rain clouds from the cold air!
Villager: Thank you! You're the best thing that's ever happened to this village!
Lily: Me? I'm the best thing that's ever happened?
Lily: Yay! Lyria, did you hear that? I got a compliment!
Lyria: Yeah, great job, Lily! But be careful not to push yourself too hard!
Lily: Sure!
And thus Lily saves the village from drought.
At the same time, she also learns to both suppress and heighten her frost.
Although the principles behind it remain a mystery, the day she can return home as the spring of the Crystalia is surely not too far off.
