Moody Metera

A woman asks the crew to save her older sister, who has infiltrated a bandit airship. Metera tries to get out of it, but the crew forces her to come along. The crew returns to their airship to chase the bandits.

The crew stops by an Erune village and hears rumors of a group of airship-riding bandits who are dealing in skydweller trafficking.
Metera: Rackam! I'm tired of walking! My legs are all stiff! How about taking a little break at that inn over there?
Rackam: How can you be tired of walking if you're flying? Oh, 'cause it takes up your magic stores, huh?
Vyrn: I was born able to fly, but not everyone's so lucky. I bet flying magic takes quite a toll.
Rackam: Anyway, if you're that tired from flying, try walking like the rest of us for a change. If you keep complaining, we'll leave you behind.
Metera: Sigh, seriously? You obviously don't get it. This is such a pain. I think I'll just head back to the airship.
???: Excuse me! You! The skyfarer!
Metera: Hm? Skyfarer? Oh, you mean me? Right, I almost forgot I am one now.
El: I'm El, and I live in this village. Um...
Metera: What is it? Oh! You must be a fan of mine!
Vyrn: You need something from us?
El: You're all skyfarers, right? I can tell by the way you look!
El: I hate to ask you so suddenly... but do you think you could save my older sister, Mel?
Rackam: Hm? Some kinda rescue mission? What happened to your sister?
El: It's a bit of a long story, but Mel told me she was going to find the hideout of some local bandits conducting skydweller trafficking.
El: I tried to stop her, but she ended up sneaking onto the bandit airship by herself.
Lyria: I'd be worried sick too...
El: Yes, but my sister never backs down once she says she'll do something. Still, I sure would like to see her again...
Metera: Sorry! We're closed for today! You'll have to find yourself some other adventurers for hire! Ciao!
Rackam: Hey! How can you be so cold? She probably has no one else to turn to.
Rackam: Not to mention she snuck onto an airship... Now where have I heard that story before?
Metera: Heh, she's got guts, that she does. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a nap to take.
Rackam: Sure, sure, sleep tight...
Yeah, right! You're joining the rescue with us!
Metera: What! Why do I have to work for a total stranger?
Rackam: (Captain) is going too. So you better listen, or maybe we'll have one less crew member when we take off.
Metera: Yeah, yeah. Fine. I'll go, but only to get you off my back.
El: Um... It would seem I owe you an apology...
Metera: No argument there. Thanks to you, my me time is ruined. There'd better be a reward in this!
Vyrn: Come on... There's no need for that.
Villager: ...
Metera: Oh, check out that hunk. Yoo-hoo, stud muffin! Wanna have some fun with me?
Rackam: For cryin' out... I thought you were tired? If you've got energy for that, a little rescue mission should be no sweat.
Metera: Aww, wait... And just when I had him right where I wanted him too!
Vyrn: All right! Let's return to the airship and head to the bandit hideout.

Moody Metera: Scene 2

The crew tracks the bandits and finds a suspicious airship in flight. As Rackam tries to motivate Metera to go scout it out, flying monsters attack the crew on the Grandcypher.

(Captain) and company board their airship and take to the skies to save Mel, who is aboard a bandit ship.
Rackam: Okay, so do you know where the bandits are?
El: According to Mel, their base is somewhere in this airspace. I think they should still be around here.
Metera: I bet your reckless sister has caused trouble for you before.
El: Yes... She's always been wild and free. And she never seems to consider the trouble she causes for her family.
Metera: Oh? And yet you're still willing to risk yourself for her?
El: Of course! I mean, I know she's not perfect, but she's the only sister I have.
Metera: Uh-huh...
Rackam: I see an airship ahead... But it doesn't look like any airship I've ever seen. Is that it?
El: It matches what I heard from Mel! That must be it!
Rackam: Metera. You can fly, so why don't you go check out what's going on inside?
Metera: Eek! You want to send a delicate maiden like me on a dangerous mission! What if I—oh, forget it. It's just a pain.
Rackam: Suck it up! You're a member of the crew now, so get with it!
Vyrn: Look! A bunch of monsters are flying this way!
El: Are you guys sure you'll be okay?
Metera: Oh, now that's just insulting. Do I really look like the sort of woman who would lose to the likes of them?
Lyria: Don't worry, El! (Captain) and everyone else here are really strong!

Moody Metera: Scene 3

The crew approaches the bandit airship. Metera boards by herself but gets injured due to messing around. It's enough to make her finally get serious.

Mel: Get your filthy hands off me, loser!
Bandit: What are you doing hiding here? If you wanted to join us that bad, all you had to do was ask.
Mel: Shut up, pigface! I'm here to crush you disgusting bandits!
Bandit: Well, aren't you a lively one! And I do like 'em lively...
Bandit: Hm? What's that? Someone's airship is heading this way!
Rackam: Ugh... Figured they'd notice us. Metera, board that ship and get the hostage out of there!
Metera: I guess I won't be able to sleep if I don't get this over with... Oh, the things I do for this crew.
Metera mumbles to herself languidly as she flies over to the bandit's airship.
Metera: Ooh! Hey, handsome! You'd better release the hostage right now!
Bandit: Huh? Who the hell are you?
Metera: We can have some fun if you do as I say...
Rackam: Hey, who told you to seduce the bandits?
Bandit: What? What's with this woman? Shoot her down!
The bandit's bullet grazes Metera's cheek and cuts off a bit of her hair.
Metera: Huh?
Bandit: Whoops. Now that I think about it, it'd be a waste to ruin a face like that. Men! Get her too!
Metera: Looks like I need to be more careful with the rough ones. Bad girl, Metera! Bad!
Bandit: What are you mumbling about? Now get over here! I'll take real good care of you!
Metera: Just shut up. I'll bash your face in until not even your mother recognizes you!
Metera: (Captain)! Rackam! Secure the ship!
Rackam: Got it! You get the hostage! Geez, took you long enough to get in the game!
El: Metera... Please save my sister!
Metera: No problem! I'm used to dealing with far worse than a little garbage.
Bandit: You think this is a joke? I'll blow all of you out of the sky!
Vyrn: Whoa! Where'd they release those monsters from? Stay focused, Metera!

Moody Metera: Scene 4

Metera defeats the bandits and completes the rescue, for which the carefree Mel and kindhearted El thank her profusely. Metera is touched by the sight of the reunited Erune sisters.

Just as the crew corners the bandits, Mel loses her balance and falls right off the ship.
Mel: Ahhh!
Metera: ...!
Metera vaults into the air and effortlessly catches her.
While the crew is distracted by Metera's heroics, the bandits take off.
El: Mel! Are you okay? You're not hurt, are you?
Mel: Never mind me. I'm surprised at you! I didn't think you'd come for me, but I'm sure glad you did!
El: You're always so reckless, Mel!
Mel: Sorry about that! I guess I owe all you guys a big thank you too!
El: Sniff... Mel! Your behavior almost got you killed this time! How can you be so nonchalant?
Vyrn: I was worried for a minute there, but I'm glad everything worked out. Another case solved! Still, Mel and El are like polar opposites.
Lyria: Yeah, but it's always nice to see sisters who love each other so much. Right, Metera?
Metera: Yeah... Well, I'm glad they're back together again.
Rackam: What's the matter, Metera? You're not your usual high-flying self.
Rackam: In the end you're the one who saved Mel. Where are your usual playful boasts?
Metera: Don't worry about it... I'm just tired because you guys forced me to do this.
El: Um... Metera! Thank you so much! I would have lost my sister without you!
Metera: It's no big deal. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
El: When you were fighting in the sky, you were like a shining butterfly! Who knew battles could be so beautiful?
Mel: Yeah! You really tore it up! Of course if it weren't for my loving sister, I might not have been around to see it. But that's how it goes!
El: Oh, Mel! Is that any way to thank the person who saved your life?
Mel: Hm? What do you mean? What could possibly be wrong with reminding you how amazing you are?
Metera: How sweet! I really am glad you're all right. Hopefully you'll be close like that for years to come.
Rackam: Come on... Now you're getting all serious all of a sudden? You okay? You sure you don't have a fever or something?
Metera: Oh? You sure seem to worry about me a lot, Rackam... Aa-achoo!
Rackam: I knew it! I bet the way you dress has something to do with that cold.
Metera: You're right... I'm starting to feel the chills. If no one keeps me warm, I might not survive the night!
Rackam: Hey! That's not even close to what I meant!
Erune Man: ...
Metera: Oh my! Hello, handsome! Isn't it chilly today? Why don't we warm each other up?
Rackam: Give it a rest, or you'll never get better.
Vyrn: Maybe we should be worried about that addiction she seems to have...
Thanks to Metera's efforts, the sisters are happily reunited.
There are still plenty of people out there who need her help, and Metera's journey has only just begun.
