My Wish
Nier and Death appear before the crew, who have completed their battle in the memory of the War. When (Captain) and company learn that the pair is working together with The World to wipe out the skies and create a new universe, a battle ensues.
Lyria: Whew... We handled that last one okay too.
Vyrn: I'm starting to wonder how long we've gotta keep this up though...
Lyria: Good question...
Lyria: ...!
Vyrn: ...!
Suddenly an overwhelming force assaults the crew.
(Captain) and company involuntarily tremble in response.
Vyrn: What the...
Lyria: I have no idea what it is, but I just sensed an incredible power coming from that card...
The crew turn their attention to it.
A pitch-black darkness comes bursting out of the card, engulfing everyone close by.
Vyrn: Eh, here again? I thought we just got out...
Nier: I must say I'm impressed...
Nier: I didn't think you'd be ready so soon.
Lyria: Nier?
The crew turns to the voice to find Nier smiling pleasantly at them.
Nier politely curtsies to (Captain) and company.
Nier: Allow me to offer my gratitude...
Nier: Thank you, (Captain)...
Nier: In big part to all your help, we can finally...
Nier: Destroy this Sky Realm that despises us so much.
Lyria: Huh... You want to destroy the Sky Realm? N-Nier, what are you saying?
Nier: By destroying the Sky Realm... We'll be able to create a new world that will both love and accept us...
Nier: That... is the true purpose of me and Death...
Death: Anything for yoo, my beloved...
Lyria: ...!

Vyrn: Whoa! You're in pretty deep, miss...
Nier: Ah, right... Of course you wouldn't recognize me...
Nier: I had a different outfit that time...
Nier puts on a robe.

Choose: So we were fooled this whole time?

Nier: I did say at the beginning that we want to save the world...
Vyrn: Then what's all this mumbo jumbo about destroying the Sky Realm?
Nier: Sky Realm?
Nier: I... I never said a word about saving the Sky Realm...
Lyria: Huh...
Nier: It's the new world we build that will need saving.
Nier: A world that will love and accept us...
Nier: But it's too great of a feat to accomplish for us two alone.
Nier: That's why I wanted your help...
Nier: To save us... and the new world...
Vyrn: What in the...
A look of utter shock covers every crew member's face.
Nier: I was so happy when you said you'd help...
Nier: It told me that you acknowledged me... It made me so happy...
Nier: That's why I'd like it if you'd come to the new world with us...
Nier extends a welcoming hand to the crew.
Lyria: Can I just ask one thing?
Nier: Yes?
Lyria: Have you really sided with that primal beast? The World?
Nier: Well, not quite... We're not exactly friends with him...
Lyria: Weren't you all going to create the new world together?
Nier: Mm... Death and I are acting for ourselves really.
Nier: It's true The World also wants to create the universe anew...

Death: None can escape death brought on by yoors truly...
Death: Not even the creator of us Arcarum primals...
Nier: So it won't be a problem.
Death: Koo kii koo kee kee... We will simply erase any and all obstacles...
Death: Be it The World... The Sky Realm... Or what have yoo...
Nier: Yes... Nothing will get in our way...
Nier: Only then can we create a new world that will love and accept us.
Death: My beloved... I do everything for yoo...
Vyrn: You two are scaring me...
Lyria: Nier, do you have any idea what you're saying? What would that mean for everyone living in the world right now?
Nier: Yes, I do know what I'm saying. Everyone's going to be erased.
Nier: Not like it matters...
Nier: I've no need for a world that won't even look in my direction... A world that won't love me...
Choose: But it does matter!
Choose: I won't allow it!
Lyria: That's right! What you're doing is wrong!
Nier: I see...
Any hint of expression Nier had on her face fades away at Lyria's scolding.
Nier: You're no different... You're just like the others who tossed me away like a ragdoll in the end...
Nier: Fine... I don't need you either.
Nier: Death... Erase them.
Death: Koo kii, koo kee kee kee kee... As yoo wish, my beloved...
Vyrn: Here it comes!
Death: Koo kee, koo kii... Absolute Death comes upon you...
My Wish: Scene 2
Death falls to the hands of (Captain) and company. In a final display of love before returning to her card, Death wraps her arms around Nier in an intimate embrace and slides a scythe into her body, killing her off. While staring at the card, the crew wonder what they could have possibly done to save Nier.
The crew manages to rout Death.
Death: Koo kii... Koo kee... Kee kee kee... No... No more...
Death: Sorry... So sorry... My beloved...
Nier: This can't be...
Choose: Let's stop this already.
Vyrn: Yeah, let's not draw this out...
Nier: Why...
Nier: Why won't anyone love me, accept me!
Nier: All I've ever wanted was for people to appreciate who I am!
Tears flowing down her cheeks, Nier lays bare her wish to the crew.
Death: How sad... So sad... Everyone... The world... denies who yoo are...
Death: No matter where yoo go...
Death: That's why... I tried to create a new world just for us... But even our one dream is hampered by them...
Death: Where can we go? Have we no place to belong? Does a place for us even exist?
Nier: No, it doesn't...
Death: Then what should we do? Where can we go?
Nier: If there's no place for us, our only option is to disappear from the world...
Nier: Maybe that'd be for the best.
Nier: We'd be free of suffering... No one would even think to deny our existences ever again...
Nier: Ahahaha...
Nier: Why... was I even born?
Death: How sad... So sad... But perhaps that can be a path to salvation...
Death: My beloved... Shall we end it?
Nier: Mm-hm... Death... Take me with all your love...
Death: As yoo wish, my beloved...
Death wraps both arms around Nier in an intimate embrace.
Death: Aaaaahh... My beloved... I... I...
Nier: Go on... Take it all from me...
Death's scythe slides into Nier's body.
Nier: Ungh...
Vyrn: Holy smokes!
(Captain) readies a sword to save Nier from Death.
But Nier refuses the help.
Nier: S-stop! Don't... get in the way!
Vyrn: Do you even know what you're saying? You'll just...
Nier ignores the crew and casts a loving glance at Death.
Nier: I'm... so sorry... Death... that I... won't be of use to you... anymore...
Nier: You're the only one... The only one who ever saw me... and accepted me... for who I really was...
Nier: Thank you... so much...
Death: Aaahh... Aaahhhh... My beloved...
Nier: Forgive... me...
Those are Nier's last words before going unconscious.
Vyrn: Tell me this isn't really happening.
Lyria: Nier? No, this can't be...
Nier: ...
Lyria: I can't believe it...
The crew is in a state of shock, standing before the lifeless Nier.
Death: Koo kii koo kee... Kee kee kee kee kee. My beloved... dear beloved... is no more...
Death: Koo kii... Koo kii... Now my beloved... is all mine and mine alone...
Death: Happy! So happy! But also sad... So sad...
Death: Aaahhhhhh!
A thick darkness fills the surroundings as Death lets out a remorseful scream...
It envelops Nier's inanimate body in but an instant.
Lyria: Nier!
Vyrn: Whaddya think you're doing!
Death: My beloved is one with me now... in mind, body, and soul... I will allow none other to touch her...
Lyria: No, that's just wrong! If we treat her right away, maybe we can still—
Death: It is too late...
The darkness disperses.
Nier's body vanishes along with the darkness.
Lyria: How could this happen...
Choose: I thought she was everything to you!
Death: Because I love her... I granted her death...
Choose: I can't believe what you just did...
Death: My love is that of death. By sending my beloved to her demise, our love has become eternal.
Death: There is no greater form of love... than the eternal bond brought on by death.
Death: Yet... Yet I... I...
Death: I so wanted to be beside my beloved... To become her strength...
Death: To fulfill her wish...
Death: To save her...
Death: Koo kii... Koo kee... Koo kee kee kee kee... Please... Won't someone accept me... Love me...
With those parting words, Death reverts back to the form of a card.
(Captain) and company are still in shock at the heartrending scene that just unfolded before them.
Vyrn: How did it all turn out like this...
Lyria: Nier... What could have possibly happened to you that warped you so much...
Lyria: Isn't there anything we could have done to save you?
But alas there is no response. Lyria's words are lost to the wind.
Eyes focused on Death's card, the crew can do little more than repeat the question to themselves over and over.
Though they know there is no reversing what has already come to pass, they cannot help but wonder if such a tragic fate could have been avoided.
