The Message Left Behind
The crew decides to return to Karm for clues on where to find Seox's old skyfaring acquaintance. After learning from Sierokarte that bandits are pillaging the hamlet in search of treasure, the crew hurries there.
(Captain) and company continue their journey through the skies, helping Seox search for a certain skyfarer.
The crew visits numerous islands, but unfortunately no leads turn up.
Vyrn: We need something to go on if we're ever gonna find that guy...
Lyria: Hmm... Were there any clues back in Karm about the skyfarer?
Vyrn: Now that you mention it... we left that island as soon as Seox joined us!
Seox: ...
Vyrn: Hmm... It might not be a bad idea to go back there and search for clues from scratch!
Vyrn: How about it, Seox? Why don't we try going back to Karm?
Seox: ...
Vyrn: ...
Lyria: ...
Vyrn: Ah! I just remembered—you forgot to give Seox his mask back!
Lyria: O-oh, that's right! Here you go!
Seox: That loathsome place calls out to me again.
Seox: Hahah... Very well. Let's go then!
Lyria: Yeah! Let's look for clues leading to the skyfarer together!
Vyrn: Sigh... Seox can be a handful.
Little did they know that at that time the hamlet of Karm was being beset by an unexpected state of affairs.
Lyria: E-everyone! Siero just told me something awful is happening to Karm!
Vyrn: Whoa, what's going on?
Lyria: Well...
According to Siero...
Rumors speak of the Karm Clan's vast fortune, accrued through assassination missions, lying hidden somewhere in the hamlet.
Thieves and treasure hunters alike flock to Karm, turning it inside out in search of the riches.
Vyrn: What! A vast fortune? I-is that true, Seox?
Seox: I wouldn't know... The clan despised me after all.
Vyrn: Oh... Uh, well...
Seox: But I can't have the likes of thieves looting the hamlet and taking any clues that might lead to that man...
Lyria: Good point! Karm must hold a lot of memories for you of time spent with that skyfarer!
Lyria: We need to hurry there before it's too late!
The Message Left Behind: Scene 2
(Captain) and company arrive at Karm and advance through a cave full of unknown dangers. When Lyria accidentally triggers a trap and monsters appear, Seox rejoices at the chance to alleviate his boredom.
(Captain) and company return to Seox's home, the hamlet of Karm.
The once tranquil and beautiful hamlet has been laid to waste by treasure-seeking thieves.
Vyrn: T-this is awful... I don't know if we'll find any clues with Karm the way it is now...
Choose: Don't give up! We'll find something!
Vyrn: You're right! Let's kick all those thieves out of here!
Choose: The treasure is all mine!
Vyrn: Yeah! Wait, that's what you're worried about?

Seox: Don't fret. What you see here is only the entrance to the hamlet.
Seox: Intruders won't find their way into Karm so easily.
Bandit: Gaah! H-heeelp me!
Bandit: What's with this cave? How can anyone make it out alive with all these traps?
Vyrn: What the? Look at all those thieves running away!
Seox: Hahah! They're fools to think the likes of them could conquer Karm.
Seox: Let's go, (Captain)!
Seox easily makes his way through the dangerous cave that sent seasoned bandits running away screaming.
The party struggles to keep up with Seox as he dodges the numerous traps set all over the cave.
Vyrn: Wh-what's with this trembling?
Seox: Looks like a trap's been activated. A rat must have wandered inside...
Lyria: Um... Maybe I shouldn't have touched this object?
Vyrn: What the... Hey! Lyria's the one who activated the trap!
Monster: Grrr...
Vyrn: Uh-oh! Whatever it was, it dropped these monsters on us!
Seox: Heheh... Good timing. I was just starting to get bored.
Seox: This should entertain me for a little while! Let's go, (Captain)!
The Message Left Behind: Scene 3
When (Captain) and company arrive at a place that Seox holds dear to his heart, a group of treasure-seeking bandits appear and attack the party.
Vyrn: Whew... That was close!
Lyria: Sorry about that... Mm...
Lyria: W-wow! I didn't think there'd be such a beautiful place past the cave!
Seox: Looks like none of the thieves made it this far...
Lyria: Yeah! Maybe we can find clues about the skyfarer here!
Seox: Yeah... You might be right.
Lyria: Oh... Did you and the skyfarer spend a lot of time here?
Seox: ...
Seox: Come to think of it, he came here without batting an eye at those traps.
Seox: In my utter despair and misery, he reached out to me and told me everything would be okay.
Seox: That's what this place means to me.
Lyria: I see.
Seox: Heheh. Seems you have a long way to go, (Captain).
Seox: I doubt you can make it through that cave alone.

Bandit: My, how rude! Evading those traps was a simple task for someone of my caliber... Oww.
Underling: Gahaha! We were right to follow these guys, Boss!
Vyrn: These are the rats? They might have big mouths, but they're in pretty bad shape!
Underling: Phew, it was grueling work trailin' you guys... Aww, now I'm starvin'...
Lyria: Um, so is there something you want from us?
Bandit: You're no ordinary travelers, are you? If you know something about the Karm Clan's fortune, you'd better fess up!
Underling: We'll be takin' the treasure for ourselves!
Vyrn: Hah, we wouldn't tell you diddly-squat even if we did know something!
Bandit: Humph! Impudent lizard!
Get 'em, boys!
Get 'em, boys!
Underling: Heheh! The treasures and meat are all ours!
Seox: Tch... I didn't want to waste my time with you, but you're not giving me a choice. I'll make you regret it!
The Message Left Behind: Scene 4
After fending off the bandits, the crew finds a journal belonging to the skyfarer that Seox has been searching for. Through this journal Seox discovers that his father—who he killed by his own hand—actually loved him deeply. Seox is struck with a guilty conscience, and the party tries to cheer him up.
(Captain) and company successfully fend off the bandits.
As the crew search for clues about the skyfarer, they come across an old journal hidden in the hollow of a tree.
Vyrn: Gulp... This must be the clue we've been looking for!
Lyria: Yeah... This must be something the skyfarer left for Seox!
Vyrn: Come on, open it up! What does it say?
Seox: ...
Seox carefully opens the journal and quietly begins to read...
Vyrn: Hey, we wanna know what it says too. Read it out loud for us.
Lyria: Sshhh! Vyrn, let's leave him be for now. Okay?
Written in the journal is an inconceivable truth.
There was a great conflict within the clan over Seox's extraordinary abilities.
Dissenters planned to assassinate Seox along with his father, who was head of the clan at the time.
Predicting the clan's downfall, Seox's father entrusted his son's future...
To a skyfarer who was a longtime friend.
Seox: What... have I done...
Seox: I killed my only immediate family and let go of my future along with him... Heh... What a joke...
Seox: I was a fool to think I could achieve a life of peace...
Lyria: Seox...
Seox: This is the end of our journey together. We're strangers from now on.

Lyria: You shouldn't wear a mask like this!
Lyria: As your friend I can't watch you hide your true feelings behind a mask!
Seox: ...!
Vyrn: That's right! We can't leave you alone now that we see how much you're suffering under that mask!
Seox: You guys...
Seox: Ugh... It's... not like that...
Seox: ...!

Vyrn: What does it say?
Lyria: Umm...
On the back of the journal is a message for Seox.
The journal ends with a note: when you find friends you can truly trust one day, don't ever let them go.
Seox: T-this is...
Vyrn: What the? It's like he knew what would happen here today.
Lyria: Hey, Seox! Don't you think this means that the skyfarer wants you to be happy too?
Seox: I...
Lyria: Come with us! And if we come across that skyfarer some day...
Lyria: Tell him you found friends that you can trust! Right, (Captain)?
Seox: Okay... Thank you...
Vyrn: Hm? What's wrong, (Captain)? Did you notice something in that journal?
Choose: I know this writing...
Vyrn: Hmm... I don't recognize it, but this could be an important clue if you can remember whose writing it is!
Vyrn: We need to find that skyfarer for Seox's sake too!
Choose: I'm looking for clues about the treasure!
Vyrn: Oh yeah! I forgot all about it!
Vyrn: Well then, let's get back to treasure hunting! We should be able to find it in no time with Seox's help!
