Light Up the Dream

A circus ringmaster once asked Uzuki to perform on their stage. The trio has a reunion with the ringmaster and in watching the troupe's performance, Uzuki ponders the possibility of performing with a monster herself. She gently approaches one to test the idea, but is instead attacked.

Uzuki receives a letter from the circus ringmaster she met not long ago.
In it, he thanks Uzuki for all her help, and invites her to perform with the troupe at their next show.
After reading the letter, Uzuki falls into deep thought, and calls Mio and Rin into the room.
Uzuki: Guys, I was thinking… How about we all do a concert?
Mio: Ooh, sounds like fun! It's been a while since all three of us performed together!
Rin: Hee hee, it's rare for you to suggest something like this, Uzuki. What gave you the idea?
Uzuki: Well, it's like this…
Uzuki tells the others about the circus troupe.
Rin: I see, so that's what's got you so pumped.
Mio: That's awesome, Shimamu! Your smile saved a whole troupe!
Mio: OK, let's get going and meet your friends from the circus!
The three make their way to where the troupe are currently staying.
Ringmaster: Oh, Uzuki-san! It's so good to see you again!
Uzuki: Long time no see! These two are my friends, they're pop idols from the same agency as me.
Mio: Hi there, I'm Mio Honda. It's great to meet you!
Rin Shibuya: Hello, I'm Rin Shibuya. It's nice to meet you.
Ringmaster: It's wonderful to meet all of you!
Ringmaster: I must introduce you to the other members of my troupe…
Ringmaster: Ah, how about this? You can watch us rehearse our acts, we'll introduce ourselves that way.
Vyrn: Great idea! You guys are famous now, right? I'd love to see how you've improved.
Juggler: OK, I'm the first one up! Here I go!
Magician: Hee hee, and I'm next! I hope you enjoy it!
The juggler and magician both put on a spectacular show.
Juggler: Watch me!
Magician: Yeah!
The crew is astonished by the flawless, high-quality performance.
Mio: Whoa! That was so cool! I can't believe he juggled all those swords!
Rin: The magic show was really impressive, too. It was like watching fireworks made of ice. I wonder how she did it?
Ringmaster: Ha ha ha! I'm glad you're having fun so far. Now it's time for the finale!
The Ringmaster steps forward. The same beast that had been so ferocious before now heeds his every command.
Uzuki: Wow! That's amazing, Ringmaster-san!
Ringmaster: Thank you, thank you. It's all thanks to your support that we've come so far, Uzuki-san.
Ringmaster: It would be an honor to perform alonside you. Let's make this show a success!
Uzuki: Yeah! This will be the best show ever!
The meet-and-greet concluded, the different performers spend the next few days rehearsing.
After a rigorous rehearsal with Rin and Mio, Uzuki comes up with a new plan.
Uzuki: (Since we're going to be performing with the circus troupe, shouldn't I do something a bit more… circus-y?)
During a break from practising her number, Uzuki makes her way to an area where monsters are known to dwell.
Monster: Grrr…
Uzuki: (If I could sing and dance with a monster like the ringmaster does…)
Uzuki gingerly approaches a timid-looking monster.
Monster: Grwr?
Uzuki: Uh, hey there, little fella…
Monster: Groooar!
Uzuki: Yaaah!
Lyria: Huh? Wasn't that Uzuki-san?
Uzuki: Yaaah! I-I just can't do it!
Vyrn: Whoa, there's a monster chasing her! Quick, we've gotta do something!

Light Up the Dream: Scene 2

Uncertain of what to do next now that his dream has been fulfilled, the ringmaster decides to make the next performance the troupe's last. Things take a turn for the worse as the monsters go on a rampage mid-performance. (Captain) and company battle the monsters with the crowd mistaking it all as part of the performance cheering them on.

Vyrn: Phew. I'm glad you're all right, but seriously, what did you do to get that monster so mad?
Uzuki: I'm sorry… I thought maybe if I could learn to sing and dance with a monster, it'd really give the show some extra charm…
Rin: Aw, Uzuki. I think you're plenty charming already.
Mio: That's right, Shimamu! Your smile always lights up the room!
Uzuki: Thanks, everyone! I guess I got a little carried away…
Uzuki: OK, I won't waste any more time! I'm going to practise a whole lot and make this peformance our best yet!
Invigorated by Uzuki's beaming smile, everyone breathes a sigh of relief.
Ringmaster: You have the best smile I've ever laid eyes on! I'm glad we could see it again, as a sendoff for our final performance…
Juggler: R-Ringmaster! You weren't supposed to tell them that…
Uzuki: What? What do you mean, "final"?
Magician: Uh… We didn't mean to keep it a secret, it's just…
Ringmaster: We thought you might get upset, so we were going to keep quiet about it…
Ringmaster: Thanks to your encouragement, our little troupe has become famous. You might say our dream has finally come true.
Ringmaster: But I have no idea where to go from here. It's like we've done it all… Perhaps there's nothing left for us…
Ringmaster: So we thought ending things while we're at the top of our game would be better than just wasting away…
Uzuki: No way! You're going quit now? Can you really just walk away from everything you've worked so hard to build?
Ringmaster:
Uzuki: …You know, becoming a pop idol was always my dream.
Uzuki: Just like you, I worked hard to make my dream come true. Now I'm doing what I always wanted to, even here in a different world!
Uzuki: But I still have a long way to go. My dream doesn't end here!
Uzuki: I just know I can shine even brighter! And I'm sure all of you can, too.
Ringmaster: Hmm… The dream doesn't end here, huh? Everyone already decided on it, though… Give us some time to think about it.
The ringmaster and the rest of the troupe retire to another room, deep in thought.
Uzuki: You just can't give up now… You could have such a bright future…
Mio: Shimamu…
In spite of Uzuki and the crew's concerns, the troupe is still unable to give any definitive answer on the subject of retirement.
Before long, the day of the performance arrives. The venue is packed with spectators, eager to see the troupe's now famous act.
Magician: OK, here I go…
Magician: ……
The magician takes to the stage, where her acts of prestidigitation are met with wild applause.
Juggler: ……
She is followed by the juggler, his stupendous manual dexterity delighting the crowd.
Ringmaster: Looks like it's my turn. Wish me luck.
Uzuki: Wait, Ringmaster-san! Did you think about what I said? This isn't really going to be your last show, is it?
Ringmaster: You've always been so kind to us, right up until the end. Thank you… I have to get going.
Ringmaster: ……
The ringmaster leads his trained beast onto the stage. It obeys all his instructions, and the show continues without interruption.
Circus-Loving Brute: Whoa! Ain't that something! These guys have really improved!
The ringmaster prepares to bring his impeccable performance to a close.
Ringmaster: (I guess this is the end… Still, I'm glad I got the chance to go out with a bang.)
Uzuki: No way! You're going quit now? Can you really just walk away from everything you've worked so hard to build?
Uzuki: You just can't give up now… You could have such a bright future…
Ringmaster: (Hm… A bright future, huh?)
The ringmaster's will wavers for a split second. In that moment, the ferocious beast breaks free.
Monster: Groooar!
Ringmaster: Huh? No! No way!
The monster rears up to attack. As the audience begins to panic, a lone figure draws the beast's attention from the ringmaster.
Uzuki: Yaaah!
Monster: Grarar!
Ringmaster: What? Uzuki-san?
Uzuki: Not just me! Ready, Mio-chan?
Mio: Heh heh heh… Call me and I shall appear… Mio-chan, on the scene! Take this!
Monster: Grawr?
Uzuki: Rin-chan, now!
Rin: Right! To me, my violet blade!
Monster: Ngrar!
The three idols attack the beast with such flair and precision that the audience is convinced it was all part of the act.
Circus-Loving Brute: Woo! Nice going, girls! Yeah, show that thing who's boss!
Uzuki: Thanks for your support, everyone! I'll do my best!
Mio: Heh, this is pretty fun. Since we're already on stage, let's go ahead and give them a taste of what we can do!
Rin: Huh? Mio, aren't you being a little too hasty?
…I guess we could, though.
The three idols proceed to sing, dance, and bring the beast under control with their superb teamwork.
Vyrn: Heh, they're not bad at all! C'mon, (Captain), we should help out, too!

Light Up the Dream: Scene 3

The ringmaster watches in amazement as the trio of pop idols sing and dance ad-lib all the while battling monsters. "I can't believe they're still aiming for higher given how good they are already..." remarks the ringmaster. Realizing that fulfilling their dream may very well only be the start, Uzuki reassures the ringmaster they'll be fine as long as they give it their best.

Taking his cue from Uzuki and the others, the ringmaster regains control and wraps up his act.
A brief intermission is announced to prepare the stage for the idols' concert.
Backstage, the ringmaster offers his sincerest gratitude.
Ringmaster: I can't thank you enough! I'm so sorry for the trouble I've caused you…
Uzuki: Come on, don't be like that! It was no trouble at all.
Ringmaster: I'm grateful for your help with the beast too, but that wasn't what I meant…
Juggler: How can I put this… When the three of you were on stage, it was like you were shining with a light all your own.
Magician: You were truly dazzling. Much more so than any of us.
Ringmaster: And when we thought about how none of your consider your dreams to be at an end yet…
Uzuki: Ringmaster-san…
Ringmaster: We thought…maybe we can keep going a little longer. Maybe we can make our future even brighter…
Uzuki: That's right! This is only the beginning for all of you!
Uzuki: So let's all chase our dreams together and work toward that shining, bright future!
Ringmaster: Oh, Uzuki-san… Thank you…
A buzzer rings out across the theater, signalling the end of the intermission and the start of the concert.
Uzuki: It's time. Be sure to cheer us on, we'll all be doing our very best!
Ringmaster: Right! Break a leg!
Uzuki, Rin and Mio take to the stage, soothing the hearts of all with their songs and dancing skills.
Their smiles light up the room, as though they are lighting the way toward the dazzling future the circus troupe dreamed of.
The performers are newly inspired to pursue their dreams, never to stray from their path again.
