ZodiaCamp: The 2nd Divine Generals Assembly - Chapter 1: Camping 101 - Episode 3
Having learned that they should start by pitching their tent, the Divine Generals set to work, but are confused by the unfamiliar terminology in the manual. Thankfully, Mahira is able to decipher the instructions for them.
Kumbhira: Wh-what's wrong, Sierokarte?
Sierokarte: Here's a little quiz for you! What's the first thing you should do when you arrive at your campsite?
Huang: Uh... Warm-up exercises?
Catura: Take a nap?
Anila: The whole reason we came here was for our assembly...
Sierokarte: The correct answer is... pitch the tents!
Vyrn: Yeah, she's right. Your tent functions as your home base when you're campin', so it's gotta be your top priority.
Vyrn: Settin' up can take way longer than you think, and you'll lose daylight if you don't do it right away.
Sierokarte: Securing a place to sleep is absolutely vital, so you can't sleep on it. Hehehe.
Lyria: Hmm... I guess we do always start by pitching the tent. Now I know why!
Vyrn: Plus these are rentals. We've never set 'em up before, so we'd better get crackin' early.
(Captain) removes one of the tents from its bag and begins examining the parts.
Lyria: Oh! I'll help too, (Captain)!
Kumbhira: Thinking back, we led with our assembly last time, didn't we? So we were basically doomed from the start...
Vajra: Okay, guys! Let's pitch our tent too!
Divine Generals: Yeah!
The Divine Generals set to work erecting their tent, but they quickly hit a snag.
Kumbhira: What is all this? "Inner tent"? "Rainfly"? We just want to set up a basic tent here...
They stare blankly at the instruction manual, unable to make sense of the unfamiliar terminology.
Huang: Oh! So these are the pegs!
Bai: So... what're you supposed to do with them?
Huang: Good question.
Vyrn: The pegs are what keep the tent from flyin' away. You stick 'em in the ground and attach the ropes to 'em.
Cidala Sisters: Huh...
Vyrn: That totally went over your heads, didn't it?
Sierokarte: Kumbhira, the inner tent refers to the main body or interior wall of the tent, while the rainfly is the roof or exterior wall, so to speak.
Sierokarte: The tents they lend out here are very modern, you see. Very easy to pitch, not to mention convenient.
Kumbhira: Is that so...
Kumbhira: (This is easy to pitch?)
Mahira: Kumbhira, pass me the manual.
Mahira: Hmm... I see. So you slide the poles through the inner tent sleeves...
Andira: Can you make sense of it, Mahi?
Mahira: The integrity of a tent seems to rely on tension. I assume the fabric and ropes are pulled taut to create sturdiness.
Sierokarte: You hit the nail on the head. If the fabric and ropes are too loose, your tent will blow in the wind, and rain and dew can accumulate.
Sierokarte: Incidentally, in the case of non-freestanding tents, they may not even stand up in the first place without pegs.
Catura: You're amazing, Mahira! Why don't we let you... handle the instructions, then?
Vajra: We're counting on you, Mahi!
And so the Divine Generals begin pitching their tent as Mahira interprets the instruction manual for them.
