Unbound Asterism - Opening

(Captain) and company hop on a public airship bound for Ovuque Island, in hopes of finding some clues on Navis. Though Ragazzo is still unconscious, the crew decide to take him with them. They make plans to investigate the ruins on the island, as well as a concert a popular idol named Lodi is putting on—until the sudden sound of an explosion takes them by surprise.

Nereus: This story is a work of fiction, and has no connection to any actual persons or organizations.
Nereus: Ah, but rest assured that their grief, anguish, hatred... and most of all, madness, are genuine.
Nereus: I do hope you will enjoy their dance of madness on this splendid stage until the very end.
Deep within a dark forest.
Young Tristette: Waaah!
Young Cupitan: Aaaah!
Young Tristette: Pant, pant... He's not gonna start moving again, right?
Young Cupitan: Yeah... I don't see any colors of emotion coming from him anymore...
Young Tristette: Okay...
Young Cupitan: So heavy... It feels like we're lifting a giant brick! I didn't think dumping him into a hole would be this hard...
Young Tristette: Damn it! The blood and sweat's making it all slippery...
The Two: Hah!
Piling dirt back into the hole as fast as they can, the two eventually complete their task before collapsing onto the ground.
Young Cupitan: ...
We killed him.
Young Tristette: We didn't have a choice. This guy was too persistent in chasing us, even for someone from Navis.
Young Tristette: But, yeah... I guess there's no turning back for us now.
Young Cupitan: ...
Young Cupitan: It's going to be okay. The two of us are one, after all.
Young Cupitan: As long as we're together, Ris, we can carry the burden of this crime for the rest of our lives.
Young Tristette: When we die, we're definitely going to the very bottom of hell.
Young Cupitan: This place... was hell enough for us already.
Young Tristette: Yeah... Before I met you, that is.
Laying in the blood-soaked mud, the two reach out, pushing aside the sticky mass around them until they find each other's hands.
Among the despair, they find warmth in each other, hanging onto the sliver of hope that tomorrow will be another day they survive together.
Cupitan: Yes... So warm...
Cupitan: And soft, just like... this?
Tikoh: Good morning, Cupitan.
Cupitan: Huh... Ti?
Cupitan rubs her eyes, opening them wide to find herself on the sofa of an airship, with Tikoh looking down at her.
Tikoh: I can't believe you're still half asleep at this time of day...
Tikoh: You kept nodding off, and ended up using my lap as your pillow for the time being.
Cupitan: So that soft and squishy pillow... was...
Cupitan: Your lap?
Cupitan: I'm so sorry, Ti! I must've been heavy!
Tikoh: It's fine... Assuming you meant it was a soft and squishy pillow and definitely not my thighs.
Tikoh: Were you having a bad dream? You were mumbling a bit in your sleep...
Cupitan: Yes... But I don't recall anything like it happening in the past...
Tikoh: Hm? Well, most dreams are things that've never happened before.
Cupitan: Right...
It just felt... so real.
Cupitan: But lucky me! I got to see the old Ris in my dream!
Tikoh: I see... That's the Cupitan I know.
Tikoh: Anyway, it's time to wake up. We should be arriving at our destination soon.
Fiorito: Time to wake up, Ace. Just how long are you gonna sleep for anyway?
Ragazzo: ...
Fiorito gazes at Ragazzo, hoping for a snarky response—but the man remains asleep on the bed, unmoving.
Fiorito: Your body's completely healed already, but look at you. Still sleeping in, huh?
Fiorito: ...
Fiorito: Tikoh did a lot for you, you know. And then everyone put in what they could for your arms—
Feather: Ragazzo! You finally awake?
Fiorito: Feather?
No, he's still asleep...
Feather: Huh? Oh, okay. I heard you talking so I thought he'd woken up...
Randall: Hey, don't just go barging in, Feather. Give people some space.
Randall: Sorry if he scared you there, Fiorito.
Fiorito: Don't worry about it! Why're you apologizing for Feather though, Randall?
Randall: W-well... I've always been in charge of chaperoning him, so...
Fiorito: I guess it doesn't matter. Anyway, I think I'll go water Rosa a bit.
Feather: Hey, Randall. I never knew you were my chaperone.
Randall: Shut up... Just forget about that.
Feather: ...?
Randall: Anyway, Fiorito's been coming to see Ragazzo even more than we have, hasn't she?
Feather: Yeah! She even changes the bedsheets and stuff for him. Nice of her to do that for someone she's never even fought before!
Randall: Having fought someone or not's just your standard. In any case, (Captain)'s been worried about Ragazzo too...
Ferdinand: Now, it's time for the harvest!
Ragazzo: Ah... Aaaah!
Ferdinand: I'm sorry. It hurts, doesn't it? But I had to sever your entire hand. Same trick as preparing chicken, you see.
Ferdinand: Ah... Splendid. As expected of my son.
Randall: Ferdinand... I can't wait to give him my hardest kick, right in his annoying, smiling face.
Feather: Yeah! And we've been training hard so we can do exactly that.
Just then, something shiny falls out from Feather's mouth.
Randall: What in the... Did your tooth just fall out?
Feather: Oh yeah, you're right! Looks like one of my back teeth came out.
Feather: I was gnawing pretty hard on the meat at lunch. Maybe it broke after that!
Randall: You're impossible... This is no joke, you know! Hurry and pick it back up!
Kolulu: Nom, nom. More meat, please!
Manamel: Gosh, just how long are you going to keep eating? It's already way past lunchtime!
Kolulu sits at a table set up on the deck, happily stuffing her cheeks with chicken.
Kolulu: Heheh... I just can't help enjoying as much food as I can whenever I have a chance to ride on a public airship...
Manamel: Crazy... Look at you lounging around like that.
Manamel: Sip...
Oh, Vega. More tea please. And macarons.
Vegalta: ...
As soon as Manamel issues an order, her dagger Vegalta begins to move on its own, using the tip of its blade to fill the cup with tea from the pot.
Manamel: Whew...
Vyrn: Hey, you're loungin' around too, Manamel. Sippin' on tea up here on the deck and everything.
Manamel—a girl passionate about all things cute who is on a journey to find her long-lost older sister.
The dagger she carries with her, Vegalta, is capable of both fighting battles as well as taking care of her everyday needs.
Troue: Whoa! The dagger... It's floating!
Manamel: Oh, right... It's the first time for you today, isn't it, Troue?
Troue: I-I'm sorry... There's still a lot I don't know yet...
Troue has a condition where his memory is reset every day, making it so that he has to figure out the situation little by little upon waking up.
Troue: Recently, I've mostly been spending my mornings with Kolulu, haven't I?
Kolulu: That's right! I'm here to remind you about your notebook, your daily exercises, and other things that can help you remember.
Troue: I'm sorry it's been so much trouble for you...
Kolulu: Not at all! Eating together with you is something I look forward to every day!
Lyria: Oh, me too! You always look like you're really enjoying the food, Troue!
Troue: R-really? I haven't noticed that about myself...
Vegalta: ...
Vegalta floats in front of Troue, as if to introduce itself.
Manamel: There're twenty-three Horoscopes in the skies, and my Vega's one of them.
Manamel: An organization called Navis is trying to gather all of these weapons.
Troue: Horoscope... Navis...
Navis—a mysterious organization that is planning to manifest a certain primal beast by gathering all of the Horoscopes.
Ever since the face-off between Navis and the crew at Stella Island, (Captain) and company have been trying to track down the organization in order to take them down once and for all.
Kolulu: Ovuque Island... There might be a hint about Horoscopes waiting there for us, right?
Manamel: Yep, and most of all... Searching the ancient ruins is important, of course, but we might be able to find clues at the concert too!
Lyria: You mean the concert that super popular idol's putting on, right? Lodi, was it?
Kolulu: I hear Lodi's singing is amazing! I can't wait to hear it!
As the crew continue chatting on the deck of the passenger airship, the silhouette of an island slowly comes into sight.
Kolulu: Ooh, I see it! You can even make out the arena where the concert's being held!
Manamel: Really? Wait, I wanna see—
That's when something unexpected happens.
Lyria: Eep!
The sudden sound of an explosion rocks the entire ship.
Meanwhile, someone quietly arrives at the green room of a concert venue.
???: Good morning, Producer!
???: Yes... You're absolutely right! I've kept my dear princesses waiting for almost two years, after all.
???: It's only right that I do my best—by putting on a suitable performance on stage.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 1: Mirror Image - Episode 1

When the crew discovers the engine room in shambles from the explosion, (Captain) quickly thinks of a solution and helps the airship make an emergency landing at Ovuque Island. The crew suspects that Navis may have something to do with the incident. Meanwhile, Auditors from Navis gather in a room and are informed that the three Chairmen will be cooperating for future plans. Morilynn, Auditor Primo, joins Tristette and Lavirita's team.

(Captain) and the crew are on their way to Ovuque Island, in hopes of finding more clues about Horoscopes.
But as they approach their destination, a sudden explosion from somewhere within the ship catches them by surprise.
Among the chaos, a few of the crew members scramble to the source of the explosion.
Cupitan: (Captain)! We're in trouble! The engine room's...
Tikoh: It was already looking like this when we arrived...
The engine room is in shambles and emitting a burnt smell.
Vyrn: This is bad... Like, a really, really bad accident!
Tikoh: Accident...
Troue: Um, don't you think the ship's tilting more and more?
Cupitan: The engine's stopped! Everyone at the helm is panicking...
Kolulu: D-does this mean... we're about to plunge to the bottom of the skies?
Manamel: C-c-calm down! (Captain)'ll get us out of this!
With Manamel clinging on to one arm, the captain takes in the situation, trying to remain calm while thinking of a solution.
Conjuring a mental image of the airship, (Captain) considers their current altitude and the ship's inclination. The captain quickly makes an estimate of the distance to their destination.
  1. The ship's wings!

Choose: The ship's wings!
An idea pops into mind, and (Captain) makes a dash to the bridge.
A short while later, the airship safely makes an emergency landing on an empty plain at Ovuque Island, to the cheers of many passengers.
Feather: Whoooo! We're alive!
Randall: Leave it to (Captain) to think of using the controls like the Nightcypher and gliding our way to the island.
Vyrn: Still, I never thought we'd get an explosion on our ship... What a crazy disaster.
Tikoh: This... isn't an accident.
Kolulu: Huh?
Cupitan: Ti's right. There's physical evidence of someone tampering with the airship's engine room.
Vyrn: Are you sayin' that someone on the ship sneaked into the room and broke the engine on purpose?
Feather: Why would anyone do that?
Manamel: It's obvious. To make it crash, duh.
Manamel: And to kill all of us.
The Four: ...!
Randall: True. It's hard to believe this is a coincidence... They wanted to make it so this ship would crash before we got to look into Horoscopes.
Tikoh: Navis... That'd be the most natural explanation, right?
Feather: You mean... someone who's an Auditor was on our ship?
Cupitan: Or, it could be that someone instructed a Star to do it for them...
Fiorito: ...
Tikoh: After we made our landing, I asked Troue to use his Gift of Visions on the engine room.
Troue: Oh, yes... We thought maybe we could use it to track down the culprit...
The Gift of Visions—a mysterious power Troue possesses that allows him to read the memories of the things he touches.
Troue: But I couldn't see anything. There were no emotions...
Kolulu: Hm? Emotions?
Troue: Rather than seeing the memories themselves, my Gift of Visions allows me to follow memories from the thoughts and feelings left behind.
Troue: That's why if no emotions are left, I can't see anything from their memories.
Cupitan: I thought it was strange too... If the culprit was harboring dark emotions, I would have sensed them, but...
Cupitan's Rainbow Bow allows her to see the emotions of other people, and to also control their emotions with the bow's Prism Arrows.
Despite being sensitive to others' emotions, Cupitan tells the crew she doesn't remember feeling anything from the engine room.
Manamel: Not leaving behind any emotions... Is that even, like, possible?
Troue: Usually, no... I've never experienced anything like this before.
Tikoh: ...
Despite their success in evading a fatal accident, the crew feel a chill down their spines.
Shaking off the unsettling feeling, they decide to head to the port to complete the official procedures to enter Ovuque Island.
Ovuque Resident 1: Welcome to Ovuque, princesses!
Vyrn: Wha! I ain't no princess!
Manamel: Ugh, that's not what they mean. "Princess" is what Lodi calls all of his fans!
Randall: Oh yeah, I vaguely remember seeing a poster with an idol looking like some kind of prince on it...
Kolulu: I'm here for the concert too, so I guess that makes me a princess as well!
Feather: Yeah, I'm a princess too!
Fiorito: The port's so crowded. This guy must be an incredibly popular idol.
Ovuque Resident 2: We're just so moved that Lodi would want to come here!
Cupitan: I hear Ovuque used to be covered in trees, and that there are some ancient ruins located somewhere on the island.
Ovuque Resident 1: Oho, you know your stuff! Ever since the arena got built in the north, they've been developing the area around there!
Randall: The arena... That's the huge facility that's hosting the concert this time, isn't it?
Ovuque Resident 1: There're still forests and ruins left in the south part of the island, but they've since become protected heritage sites, so don't go wandering around there.
Tikoh: Protected sites... Hm.
Ovuque Resident 2: Well, enjoy your time here!
Ovuque is a main island situated among an archipelago that is currently experiencing a rapid growth of tourism.
A few weeks ago, the crew had made the decision to visit this island for a particular reason.
Vyrn: You investigated the observatory?
Tikoh: Yep. Stella Island was where Navis set up their base—not to mention, the very place where we fought against them.
Tikoh has gathered the crew members in possession of a Horoscope at the cafe of the Grandcypher.
Manamel: Was there any evidence left though? I mean, I've never met these Navis people myself, but they sound like a pretty careful bunch.
Tikoh: You're right... They didn't leave any traces at the observatory. Their logistics records were all covered up, too.
Tikoh: But no matter how skillfully they cover up, the cover-up itself still exists as evidence.
Troue: You mean this, right? There're notes in my book about how I examined it with my Gift of Visions before.
Troue holds out a bag, inside which are some glass shards and astronomy books.
Tikoh: The remains of the observatory's equipment, and some personal belongings from the observatory staff... or what was made to look like them.
Tikoh: But if you take a look at where they're from, they all have a common origin...
Randall: And that's the island on the poster... Ovuque?
Tikoh nods. She spreads out a concert advertisement with a picture of a man holding a device, standing in the middle of a large arena.
Tikoh: I have some suspicions about the ruins located in the south of this island—
Cupitan: Aaah!
Cupitan: Lodi... The person on this poster—the thing he's holding is most likely a Horoscope!
Feather: What! How can you tell?
Cupitan: I remember seeing a picture that looks exactly like this device when I was investigating Horoscopes.
Lyria: Oh, that's right! You found out about Horoscopes from doing research all by yourself, didn't you?
Tikoh: There you go. There's no doubt about it... Our next clue is at Ovuque Island!
Manamel: But what Lodi's holding is called a "mic." I don't think it's even close to a weapon...
Randall: Lodi the top idol... Guess we'll have to take a look ourselves.
If Ovuque truly contains a clue to Navis, and if the microphone in the picture is truly a Horoscope... then the crew has no choice but to find out who exactly Lodi is.
That is how the crew decided to travel to Ovuque for more information on Navis.
As the port of the island is closed off to private ships to accommodate the concert, the crew was left with no choice but to hop on a public airship.
Tikoh: Ferdinand...
Ferdinand: Do what you want. But there isn't much time left.
Tikoh: Agh...
Tikoh: Aaaah!
Ferdinand: You're truly a kind child... You make Papa proud.
Tikoh: Ferdinand... This time, I'll definitely...
Ferdinand: Ah, everyone's here. Let's start the meeting then, shall we?
The Two: ...
As they sit within a damp, underground room, Ferdinand heaves a regretful sigh.
Ferdinand: It certainly feels empty without Ragazzo here.
Ferdinand: Fiorito is still on her mission with the crew—I've already informed her of her next task.
Lavirita: What are your next orders? If the price is right, I will gladly do anything.
Ferdinand: Ah, no need to worry. I just wanted to make some introductions today.
Tristette: Introductions?
Ferdinand: Yes. We've decided to establish a tighter cooperation between the three Chairmen for the upcoming constellation.
Lavirita: Ah, so that's how it is. You mean to say that the Auditors working under the other Chairmen will be joining us.
Ferdinand: Just as I would expect from a seasoned merchant! Your quick understanding is invaluable, Lavirita.
Tristette: I-I get it too... I'm just saying you gotta give us more details.
Lavirita: Have you never questioned our ranks? You are currently ranked as Secondo...
Tristette: And you're Quinto, while Fiorito's Sesto. Ragazzo was Terzo.
Tristette: Hehehe. Just shows that I'm at the top.
Lavirita: Why do you think there is no Quarto or Primo?
Tristette: Huh?
Lavirita: It would only be proper to assume that these ranks have been given to subordinates working under other Chairmen.
Tristette: What! I never heard anything about that!
Ferdinand: Haha. Now, now—no need to get too worked up. Well then, allow me to introduce your new teammate and the aforementioned Primo. Come on out, Morilynn.
A short silence follows.
Morilynn: Call, and I shall descend. Flutter, flutter!
Tristette: Wah!
Tristette: Why're you coming from up there! You like looking down on us or something?
Morilynn: Should I look at your eyes from above or below, Tristette? Hmm... I'll go with looking straight ahead.
Tristette: What're you even talking about?
Lavirita: Hm. So you'd like to work with us as equals if possible.
Morilynn: Yes.
Tristette: How did you get what they were saying?
Ferdinand: Haha... Though under different people, you are Auditors all the same.
Ferdinand: No need to hold back, Morilynn. Make yourself at home.
Morilynn: All righty... Well, I think I'll lie down for a bit and have a snack. I'm feeling like some madeleines.
Tristette: Hey, you can't just sleep on the desk! We're in the middle of a meeting here!
Tristette: I can't believe someone as stupid as this is ranked higher than me!
Tristette: Where's their Horoscope anyway? They're not holding anything!
Lavirita: Tristette. Please, calm down.
Lavirita: A pleasure to meet you, Morilynn. Shall we shake on this special occasion—
Ferdinand: Uh-oh! I wouldn't touch their hand if I were you.
Lavirita: But it is my personal policy as a gentleman to extend my goodwill toward those whom I will be working with—
Ferdinand: How about a raise, Lavirita?
Lavirita: We shall not shake hands by any means. But I am looking forward to working with you.
Bowing his head respectfully, Lavirita casts a side glance at Ferdinand.
Lavirita: (Not a single word about the circumstances surrounding Ragazzo... I highly doubt he would tell even if I were to ask.)
Lavirita: (I didn't expect the three Chairmen to change how they work with one another, especially at this point. This certainly...)
Lavirita: Smells like money.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 1: Mirror Image - Episode 2

Suspecting Lodi to be in possession of a Horoscope, (Captain) and company are at the arena to attend his concert. While Manamel and some others are investigating, Kolulu is waiting outside the venue when she notices a man collapsed on the ground and goes to talk to him. Meanwhile, Feather and other members of the crew take a look at the food stalls. Suddenly, a tooth falls out from Feather's mouth, while Randall starts to have a persistent nosebleed. When someone offers them a handkerchief, they turn to find that the man is Ragazzo, awake from his slumber.

Having safely arrived at their accommodations in Ovuque, the crew gather together to go through their tasks.
Randall: Our original plan was to go see Lodi's concert today and determine with our own eyes if his mic is a Horoscope...
Randall: We'll see if we can get closer to him... and then take a look at the ruins in the southern part of the island tomorrow, right?
Troue: Are we sure we want to do that? Someone from Navis might be watching our every move.
Tikoh: We need to be cautious, of course... but if the incident on the airship was something Navis planted, then that means we're getting close.
Feather: That's true! They wouldn't have to do anything if we weren't even close to finding 'em!
Vyrn: I guess so...
If we're stickin' to our plan, we won't have much time to look around for fun, huh?
Kolulu: Aw... I was looking forward to sightseeing and the concert, but it can't be helped. We've got work to do...
While Kolulu is looking dejected, Cupitan timidly puts her hand up.
Cupitan: Um, I think... we should have fun because we're in this kind of situation!
Cupitan: Of course we have to be careful—but if we're on edge for too long, the color of our hearts are going to start turning dark.
Fiorito: Hm, that's a good point...
Manamel: Well, I agree. The more intimidated we are, the easier it is for the enemy to do what they want with us.
Randall: Switching up the pace from time to time could be good. Though I doubt I'd be able to just let go and enjoy myself...
(Captain) nods, taking in everyone's opinions. The captain agrees on enjoying the concert as long as they try to stay together as a group.
Feather: Whoooo! The only way from here's forward!
Feather: I saw a lot of food stalls near the arena! What do you say we go and charge up with some grub?
Kolulu: Food! Was there any meat?
Troue: Ahaha... I guess you weren't done eating quite yet.
And with that, (Captain) and company decide to take some time before the start of the concert to relish in the festivity.
Feather, Randall, and Fiorito set out for the stalls nearby.
Meanwhile, Manamel takes (Captain), Vyrn, Lyria, Kolulu, and Troue to the back of the arena.
Kolulu: Um, Manamel? There doesn't seem to be anything here...
Manamel: Hehe... You see that over there? That's the staff entrance.
Vyrn: What's with that look? Why're you smilin' like a villain?
Manamel: Wow, rude. You mean smiling like a cutie! You see, I planned out how we can meet Lodi after the show.
Troue: You have... a plan?
Manamel: Yep. You can't have an audience with the prince just by waiting around, after all.
Manamel: As princesses, we have to go and seize the chance ourselves. So I want all of you to help me do some investigation!
Once she has received the crew's consent, Manamel instructs Kolulu to ask the security guard for directions while the other five sneak in.
As Manamel and the others are inside investigating, Kolulu waits outside, squinting from the sunlight.
Kolulu: The sun's so warm today... Perfect weather for a nice nap!
Kolulu: Hm? Is that... someone sleeping over there?
???: ...
Kolulu: Golly! M-maybe they collapsed!
Kolulu: Excuse me! Are you all right?
Blond Man: ...
Kolulu: (His arms and legs are so skinny... Wait! Could it be that this person's collapsed from hunger? That must be it!)
Kolulu: Um, please, take this!
Blond Man: ...
Bread?
Kolulu: Yes! I always have some in my pocket in case I become really hungry.
Kolulu: I know the pain of hunger all too well... So feel free to take this!
Blond Man: ...
Kolulu: Here!
Blond Man: ......
Kolulu: No need to hold back!
Blond Man: .........
Kolulu: Um...
Blond Man: I came here... so I could be... empty...
Blond Man: I don't need... food...
Kolulu: Heh heh... There isn't a single person in these skies who doesn't need food!
Kolulu: Mother told me that everyone—from famous kings to nameless villagers of a small island—has to eat and relieve themselves all the same.
Blond Man: ...
Kolulu: Golly, that wasn't nice of me! Here I was offering you bread, and then I talk about relieving yourself... I'm very sorry!
Blond Man: I don't... need to go to the toilet either.
Kolulu: Oh, you can't be serious! Well, if you can make a joke like that, you must be feeling better then. I'm glad!
Blond Man: I... didn't want to meet you. I'm... going to go...
Kolulu: Oh, wait! Here, at least have half!
Kolulu breaks off half the slice of bread and stuffs it into the man's slender hand.
Blond Man: It's not about the amount... But... I give up.
Blond Man: Goodbye.
Kolulu: Take care! Make sure to eat and sleep golly well!
Back at the inn, Ragazzo lies on the bed in one of the rooms, with Tikoh and Cupitan watching over him.
Although Ragazzo's condition has stabilized, the crew had him brought with them in case he needed Tikoh's medical attention.
In addition, (Captain) and company wanted to make sure that someone aware of the current situation would be there to talk to Ragazzo if he were to wake up.
Tikoh: You should have gone with the others, Cupitan. I can watch over Ragazzo by myself...
Cupitan: No! You'd be all alone, Ti.
Tikoh turns to Cupitan.
Tikoh: How're you holding up? With Tristette and all.
Cupitan: I... still can't help but think that I want to see Ris again.
Tristette—an Auditor from Navis, and Cupitan's childhood friend who holds a special place in her heart.
Tikoh has been helping Cupitan sort out her thoughts by listening to her talk about Tristette once a week.
Tikoh: Do you feel the same, even after making new friends here in the crew?
Cupitan: Yes... Ris is Ris. All of you are my precious friends too, of course, but Ris is someone irreplaceable to me.
Tikoh: ...
Tikoh: (Cupitan's changed. Even now, she's closing her eyes and trying not to look at my emotions.)
Cupitan: But now that all of you have accepted me into your crew...
Cupitan: If I rely on the Rainbow Bow, then we won't have an equal relationship. And it's that inequality that led me to become worshipped before.
Cupitan: I don't need to read emotions... or rather, it's better if I don't read the other person's emotions if I want us to be friends.
As she thinks back to what Cupitan had told her before, a conflicted expression appears on Tikoh's face.
Tikoh: (But... her feelings toward Tristette are...)
Cupitan: ...
Young Cupitan: Aaaah!
Cupitan: You know, Ti... About the dream I had when I was sleeping on your lap—
But just as she says this, the two are met with a surprise.
The Two: ...!
In the meantime, Feather and company are going around the stalls, filling their arms with plates of food.
Feather: Whoooa! There's fried squid! Yakisoba! Roasted sweet potatoes! And briny-bites toooo!
Fiorito: You sure all of that's good for you?
Randall: They are nice and piping hot... but how's your teeth?
Fiorito: Teeth?
Feather: Yeah! My tooth just fell out earlier. Here, you wanna see?
Fiorito: No thanks! I don't even know what to say if you show me!
Feather: Haha, don't worry about it—
Feather: Huh? That's weird. I'm pretty sure I put it in my pocket...
Randall: Don't tell me you lost it! With some medical magic, you might've been able to get it reattached, you know...
Feather: Oh well, it's just one tooth! You want some briny-bites too, Randall? That place over there's piling up the sauce—
Feather: Randall? Are you okay? Your nose is bleeding.
Randall: Huh?
What the... You're right!
Fiorito: That's a lot of blood coming out... Here, use this handkerchief.
Flustered, Randall presses it to his nose.
But the blood continues to flow out, and soon, the handkerchief is so soaked it could practically be wrung.
Randall: Damn it! It just keeps bleeding...
Fiorito: This handkerchief won't help anymore... We need to get you something else...
Kind Voice: If you'd like, please use this.
Feather: Hey, a fresh cloth! Thanks—
Ragazzo: Don't worry about it. Are you all right?
The Three: ...!
The three look up to see a man standing in front of them, a worried expression on his face.
The man is none other than Ragazzo, awake from his long slumber.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 1: Mirror Image - Episode 3

(Captain) and company discover that Ragazzo has lost his memories. They encourage him to follow along with them, in case something can stimulate his memory. During their conversation, Manamel accuses Cupitan of having half-baked feelings, and that she only wants to keep being the Cupitan that likes Tristette. Hearing these words, Cupitan begins to question her own emotions toward Tristette.

As the time of the concert draws closer, the crew gathers at the plaza.
Standing among them is a composed Ragazzo.
Feather: Amnesia?
Tikoh: Yes... He doesn't seem to remember anything—about us, or himself.
Tikoh: Or about Navis, and Ferdinand...
Cupitan: Ti...
When Tikoh presses her palms to her eyes in frustration, Cupitan reaches out to give her a comforting pat.
Ragazzo: Um... I'm very sorry. It seems I'm giving you quite some trouble...
Tikoh: It's nothing for you to worry about—though, as a doctor, I am curious about how your condition will progress from here.
Randall: So you came here hoping you'd remember something by seeing us...
Feather: We fought with you, and established a connection by communicating with our fists...
Ragazzo: Oh, yes! I was wondering about that, actually.
Ragazzo looks hesitantly down at his own arms.
Ragazzo: My arms... Why are they mechanical?
Ragazzo had lost his arms when Ferdinand harvested the Horoscope Crimson Finger from him.
His arms have since been recreated using intricate mechanisms.
Fiorito: Your arms weren't healable even with medical magic.
Fiorito: So I asked some crew members familiar with mechanics and had them create highly functional artificial arms.
Tikoh: I connected the mechanical parts to your nerves and the operation seemed to be successful. Are you able to move them efficiently?
Ragazzo: Yes, I'm having no problems at all. It's almost like these are the arms I've always had.
Ragazzo: But, I was wondering... how did I lose my real arms in the first place?
Tikoh: Um, well...
Feather: Don't worry about that for now! We're just glad you've woken up!
Randall: Yeah. We're about to head over to see a concert—why don't you come with us?
Ragazzo: Con-cert? G-got it!
Cupitan: ...
Tikoh: Is something wrong?
Cupitan: No, it's nothing. I don't think it's anything bad, so...
Just before the concert, Manamel elatedly tells the others about her plan.
Manamel: Hehe! The prep for meeting Lodi after the show's complete and we're all good to go!
The crew quietly listen, nodding in awe as Manamel fills them in on the details.
Randall: So all we have to do is secure our seats?
Manamel: You got it! After that, all that's left is to enjoy the show!
Following Manamel's instructions, the crew split up into three groups and promptly secure their seats at their specified locations.
Inside the arena, directly in front of the stage are leveled stands with designated seats, whereas all the seats on the edges of the arena are non-reserved.
(Captain), Vyrn, Lyria, Troue, and Kolulu take their positions at the edge of the stands.
Kolulu: Nom, nom... The food Feather and the others brought back from the stalls is so good!
Troue: So these are what they call "briny-bites"! They're so hot, so fluffy, so crispy... and so delicious!
As they eat, the five watch the arena slowly fill up with people.
Troue: Everyone looks really excited! I can almost see what they're anticipating even without touching their memories!
Kolulu: Hm... Is it because there's an influx of emotions in the arena? Don't push yourself too hard, Troue!
Kolulu: If you start feeling sick, just raise your hand and I'll take you outside!
Troue: Thank you very much! That's very reassuring.
Troue: But... I'm more worried about Ragazzo and his loss of memories. Is he going to be all right?
Vyrn: Yeah... Hope he's not too overwhelmed by everything goin' on around him.
Ragazzo: This is delicious! It's my first time trying anything like this!
Feather: Haha, this stuff's called yakisoba! Tastes amazing, right?
Ragazzo: Yakisoba?
I'm sorry, I don't recall ever hearing of it...
Randall: Hey, don't get down about it! Here, try this. Briny-bites!
Ragazzo: May I? Thank you!
Randall: Why're you being so polite anyway? Just talk to us normally.
Feather: Yeah! I mean, we even talked with our fists—we're definitely pals. Fist pals!
Ragazzo: Fist... pals?
Randall: That doesn't roll off the tongue at all!
Feather: What's wrong with fist pals!
Ragazzo: Ahaha! Thanks, Feather! Randall!
Fiorito: Those three sure are getting along exceptionally well...
Cupitan: It's incredible to see, isn't it? They became friends so fast...
Feather, Randall, and Ragazzo have taken their seats on the right side of the seating area along the venue's edges.
Fiorito, Cupitan, Tikoh, and Manamel are watching the trio from the middle of the arena.
Tikoh: We still haven't told Ragazzo the real situation...
Manamel: Ferdinand was the most important person to Ragazzo, wasn't he?
Manamel: We should tell him... He might be able to remember something that way.
Fiorito: But... being betrayed by the person you love most is such heartbreaking news.
Cupitan: And it's not that easy to change your feelings about someone who means that much to you.
Manamel: Agreed.
Cupitan: You're in a similar situation as me, aren't you, Manamel? Searching for your sister...
Manamel: I'm sorry, but... no. We aren't the same.
Cupitan: Huh?
Manamel: I guess this is a good chance to tell you once and for all.
Manamel: Your feelings are half-baked... They're nothing like the pure and noble love I have for my sister-boo.
Tikoh: ...!
Tikoh is so shocked by Manamel's scathing words she drops the ticket in her hand.
Cupitan: What are you talking about? My feelings for Ris are—
Manamel: Okay, your feelings. But what about hers? Have you even thought about them?
Manamel: Cupitan, all you're thinking about is yourself. You're trying to stay thinking about Ris.
Cupitan: ...!
Manamel: What you wanted was friends... am I right?
Manamel: Well, you have them now. You've got so many people with you, supporting you.
Fiorito: Whoa, let's stop it there! This is getting way too heated!
Manamel: Everyone in the crew is just too nice.
Manamel: Tikoh's worried sick. She comes night after night to talk to me about you, because my situation and yours are similar apparently.
Manamel: I was sus as heck, but (Captain) accepted me. The captain accepted you too.
Manamel: But you probably know that better than I do, being sensitive to emotions and all.
Tikoh: Stop it, Manamel. You got your point through.
Cupitan: Ti...
Tikoh: (Seriously... How is she always so—)
Cupitan: ...!
Tikoh: Oh...
Tikoh is stooping to pick up her ticket when she looks up. Her gaze meets with Cupitan's, who is happening to look over with her head hung.
Tikoh: (Did she see... what I was thinking just now?)
Cupitan: ("She's got so many friends in our crew. I don't get why she's still so hung up about Tristette...")
As if to stop herself from staggering, Cupitan reaches up to grasp the ornament in her hair.
Cupitan: (Ris... is my precious friend...)
Cupitan: (Ris... I'm always thinking about—)
Cupitan: (Am I... always thinking about her? Or...)
Cupitan: What color... are my emotions?
The next moment, a spotlight appears, and the arena is filled with a rumble of cheers.
In response to the enthusiasm of the spectators, a single figure jumps onto the stage.
Lodi: Golly good day, my dear princesses! Your prince has come for you!
Lodi: Did you wait long?

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 1: Mirror Image - Episode 4

When Lodi appears on the stage of the arena, Kolulu recognizes him as the man she met outside. Following Manamel's strategy, the crew wait for Lodi to call out their seat numbers after the concert for a special greeting time, but are disappointed to find that the numbers had been changed last minute. After the event, Troue is suddenly stabbed in the back, but the culprit is nowhere to be seen. Manamel is sure that there is a traitor among the crew.

Tens of thousands of eyes—all filled with anticipation—are on the man standing on the stage.
(Captain) and company are overwhelmed by the palpable excitement of the princesses around them.
Lodi's Fan 1: Oh my gooosh! Take me awaaay, my prince!
Lodi's Fan 2: Golly? What's with the golly, Lodi!
Vyrn: Ack! I get this is a concert, but I didn't think it was gonna be this loud!
Kolulu: Huh? That's... the person who said they didn't have to go to the toilet!
Lodi: I happened to meet someone on the street who said "golly" a few times. That really left an impression on me!
Lodi: Actually, why don't we try saying it together? Ready, and...
Lodi: Gollyyy!
The Three: Gollyyy!
Tikoh: Those three are really enjoying themselves...
Anyway, any idea about the mic, Cupitan?
Cupitan: There's no doubt about it! The shape's slightly different, but...
Cupitan: It's the same as the picture I saw before... The Horoscope Parashu!
Lodi: All right, my princesses! Let's do what we usually do, nice and loud now!
Lodi: Chemistryyy!
Princesses: Chemistryyy!
Fiorito: What the... What's going on?
Manamel: Chemistryyy!
Tikoh: Manamel's screaming it too!
Manamel: Time to get with the program! It's what you do at concerts—you get excited and show it!
Fiorito: I was kinda suspecting it, but... you're a fan of Lodi, aren't you, Manamel?
Manamel: It's not fan, it's princess!
Tikoh: That makes a lot of sense. And that's why you know so much about concerts, isn't it?
Manamel: Technically I've only been to one concert. I don't remember where and when, but I just couldn't forget this song I heard there...
Lodi: Well then, let's start with our first song, shall we? A cover of a classic, as I think about my future with all of my princesses...
Lodi: "Kimi to Boku no Mirai."
The music plays, and Lodi begins to sing, putting his soul into the song.
His powerful voice, charming dance, and the refreshing smile of a prince on his face...
Every member of the audience is captivated by him.
Cupitan: Wow... The entire arena is emitting a pure color of delight!
Manamel: Amazing, right? I'm so happy too!
Kolulu: ...
Kolulu: (Lodi... Are you really the same person?)
The time passes in the blink of an eye like a fleeting dream. Before long, Lodi is saying goodbye, the sweat on him sparkling in the light.
Lodi: Thanks so much, everyone! Let's finish this special time with the usual.
Lodi: That's right—the meet and greet!
As the audience is listening attentively to Lodi's speech, the crew members swallow nervously.
Manamel: It's time... to begin our plan to meet Lodi!
Lodi: The meet and greet is a chance for three lucky princesses, chosen from the audience, to talk with me backstage after the concert!
Lodi: Now, I'm going to say three numbers that come to mind... These numbers are the chemistry between me and the princesses sitting in those seat numbers!
Tikoh: Normally, it'd be impossible to get chosen randomly among a crowd this large...
Manamel: The arena is filled with people. It'd be quite a hassle to actually take random people who got chosen backstage, which means...
Tikoh: Ah! You mean the numbers are actually determined beforehand so the staff will have an easier time guiding people?
Manamel: It was just a theory. But with the others' help, Vega found the note with the seat numbers written on it!
Fiorito: I can't believe that dagger even has vision... I have to say, that sounds like a pretty solid plan.
Manamel: Hehe! With this, he'll definitely choose our seats!
Manamel: He didn't call out our seeeats...
Tikoh: Too bad... Maybe they changed it right before the show.
Manamel: Oh em gee. No freaking waaay!
The crew exits the facility and splits up to cover the vicinity, hanging on to the last hope of catching Lodi as he's leaving the venue.
(Captain), Vyrn, and Lyria are standing by behind the arena.
Vyrn: Hmm... I dunno how likely we're gonna actually see him just come out of the venue...
Manamel: (Captain). You got a sec?
Lyria: Manamel? Didn't you say you were going to watch the other side?
Manamel: I just found out something and wanted to tell all of you right away.
Manamel: Vega helped eavesdrop on some conversation between the staff.
Manamel: Apparently they realized the seat numbers they were gonna choose had gotten out before the show started.
Vyrn: Wha! So that's why they decided to switch 'em up...
Lyria: But how... We're the only ones who knew about your plan, right?
Manamel: I've got... a bad feeling about this.
Suddenly, Manamel's ears perk up.
Distressed Cry: Aaah!
Manamel: ...!
That voice...
(Captain) and company immediately spring into action, running toward where they heard the cry.
They push past some curious onlookers and are met with a startling sight.
Troue: Rrgh...
Lyria: Troue!
Troue is collapsed face down on the ground, a knife sticking out from his back as blood continues to pool around him.
Manamel: ...!
We need first aid, Vega!
Troue: Manamel... Thank you...
Vyrn: Wha... How the heck did this happen?
Onlooker: Seems he got stabbed in the back by someone!
Onlooker: The blood just kept coming out... but the person who stabbed him was nowhere in sight...
Troue: There's... too many people... They must have lost themselves... in the crowd...
Troue: I can't use my... Gift of Visions either... There are too many emotions...
Vegalta: ...!
Manamel: The wound's surprisingly shallow... and looks like they missed the vitals.
Troue: I dodged so they'd miss... I felt someone behind me, so... I did what Roland did in his memories...
Vyrn: So the guy Durandal used to belong to, Roland... He must've been some super skilled swordsman, huh?
Troue studied swordsmanship himself by copying what he saw in the memories contained within Durandal.
Troue: It was a close one... If I didn't manage to evade it, I wouldn't be here now...
The captain puts an arm tightly around Troue, whose body is shaking from either the loss of blood, or fear.
Manamel: ...
Manamel: The deliberate explosion on the airship, the leaking of my plan...
Manamel: Is this all so that we wouldn't be able to get to this island and meet Lodi?
Manamel: Not to mention, they targeted Troue—someone in our crew who has superior searching skill—and knew exactly when to do it so they wouldn't be found...
Manamel: I'm pretty sure that the only person who can pull that off...
Manamel: Is someone within our group. A traitor.
(Captain) finds it hard to believe what Manamel is insinuating.
But the blood trickling down (Captain)'s arm from Troue is clear evidence of the reality, rendering the captain speechless.
The ocean waves sweep quietly across the sand.
Under the moonlight, a former priestess swings her staff.
Nereus: Ophiuchus—fleeting and beautiful, exceptional yet conventional...
Nereus: His crimson blood advances the story... and consequently, I make my appearance.
Nereus: Close, yet so far. As a certain gospel says...
Nereus: "Are not two birds sold for a coin? Yet under the watch of the caretaker, not one shall fall to the ground."
Nereus: "Every strand on your head is noted and numbered. Thus there is nothing to fear."
Nereus: "There is nothing to fear"... I do not know of any other truth as fearful as this.
Nereus: The Goldilocks zone... Divine providence told only by the sound of the waves.
Nereus: You, too, shall know of it someday.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 2: Visible Light - Episode 1

The crew begins to be suspicious of each other. They decide to stay in groups, hoping to restrict the traitor's movements, and split into two rooms to sleep. However, Manamel is attacked by someone that night. While this is happening, Tristette, Lavirita, and Morilynn struggle to get to know one another better.

The crew are back at the inn, with the events of their long day hanging over their heads.
Troue: Um... I'm sorry for making you all worry.
Kolulu: Oh, Troue! I'm glad you're all right!
Troue's wound is completely healed, thanks to his evasion of a fatal blow and Tikoh's medical treatment. However, the fight is far from over.
Vyrn: So you're sayin' there's a traitor among us who's tryin' to keep us from doing what we wanna do?
Manamel: Yep. And what's more, they probably also belong to Navis... which makes it even worse.
Fiorito: ...
Ragazzo: Wh-what's going to happen to us?
Feather: Don't you worry, Ragazzo! If anything happens, I'll be there to save—
Randall: Yeah, but you could also be the culprit.
Feather: What'd you say!
Randall: You can't deny the possibility, right? Everyone was on their own when Troue got attacked today.
Feather: What do you mean! We were together, Randall!
Randall: So there's the possibility that we're culprits working together, if you look at it objectively.
Feather: B-But...
Cupitan: I don't like this... I don't want to suspect any of my friends.
Troue: Can you see anything, Cupitan? Um... I know you might not feel comfortable with the idea, but... maybe there's someone hiding some bad feelings...
Cupitan: ...
I'm sorry. I already decided I won't look at the color of my friends' emotions.
Tikoh: Cupitan...
Kolulu: It's unforgivable! Who could have done this...
Manamel: In any case, sleeping separately is probably too dangerous.
Tikoh: I agree. If we stay together, that'll make it harder for the culprit to work behind the scenes.
The crew split themselves into two rooms and huddle together to sleep.
Up until now, the biggest room had been used as an infirmary for treating Troue.
Now, the room is occupied by Troue, Tikoh, Fiorito, Manamel, Cupitan, and Ragazzo.
Meanwhile, (Captain), Vyrn, Lyria, Kolulu, Feather, and Randall are sleeping in the other large-sized room.
Feather: It was so fun just a while ago...
Feather: Recently my training's been going well, and I've been getting better and better at using the Lion Khan Claw. I've been getting stronger...
Feather: I slept like a log every single day. But tonight... I don't think I'm gonna be able to sleep a wink.
Randall: ...
Just sleep. Emptying everything from your head and being able to fall asleep anywhere has always been something you're good at.
Feather: You're such a nice guy, Randall.
Feather: ...
I trust you.
Randall: Thanks, Captain Obvious.
Earlier, I was just bringing up every possibility... It's not like I'm doubting you either.
Feather: Randall...
Randall: Good night. I'll pretend I didn't hear your whining.
Feather: Thanks, Randall... Good night.
Randall: (Ah, damn it! What's wrong with me...)
As Randall turns over and over in his sleep, his pillow becomes soaked with fresh blood that continually flows out from his ears.
Close by, (Captain) and Vyrn are whispering to each other under their blanket.
Vyrn: Hey, (Captain). I really don't wanna think about it, but...
Vyrn: Honestly, who seems the most suspicious to you?
  1. Manamel.
  2. Cupitan.
  3. Fiorito.
  4. I don't know.

Choose: Manamel.
Vyrn: Manamel, huh? She's the one who suggested that there's a traitor among us in the first place though.
Vyrn: ...
You're sayin' if she uses Vegalta, there won't be any trace of emotions?
Vyrn: That's true... I didn't think of that.
Despite it only being a theory, (Captain) confesses that it doesn't feel good doubting any of their friends, especially without any evidence.

Choose: Cupitan.
Vyrn: Rainbow Girl, huh? I mean, she does have that crazy power...
Vyrn: ...
You think she's been actin' kinda weird? Now that you mention it, she does seem pretty distracted...
Despite it only being a theory, (Captain) confesses that it doesn't feel good doubting any of their friends, especially without any evidence.

Choose: Fiorito.
Vyrn: Muscle Lady? That's kinda surprising...
Vyrn: Hm, I guess she did mention having something she couldn't talk about with us.
Despite it only being a theory, (Captain) confesses that it doesn't feel good doubting any of their friends, especially without any evidence.

Choose: I don't know.
Vyrn: Right... Guess we're in the same spot then.
Vyrn: I don't wanna believe that any of us is a traitor either...
Continue 1
Hugging Vyrn tightly, (Captain) tries to catch some sleep in hopes of shutting out the anxieties.
Back at the infirmary, Cupitan is lying on the floor, her eyes wide open.
Cupitan: ...
Manamel: Cupitan, all you're thinking about is yourself. You're trying to stay thinking about Ris.
Cupitan: ...!
Manamel: What you wanted was friends... am I right?
Manamel: Well, you have them now. You've got so many people with you, supporting you.
Cupitan: (It's true... I've always wanted friends.)
Lost Young Man: Blessed Cupitan, please show me the way...
Cupitan: I didn't want to be called "Blessed Cupitan"... I wanted someone to laugh together with, so, so, so badly...
Then, the girl called the "demon child" came and broke my window. To me, she brought salvation.
Cupitan turns to stare at the back of the person sleeping next to her.
Tikoh: ...
Cupitan: (Ti... I'm always so grateful for you.)
Cupitan: (Manamel's right. Why am I even chasing after Ris?)
Cupitan: (Is it because I want to see her and talk to her? I've already done that, and she rejected me.)
Cupitan: (Is it because I want to save her? But I'm the one who's in danger.)
Cupitan: I don't know... I don't know anything.
Cupitan: Ris...
Cupitan: ...
Cupitan: Ngh...
Manamel: (Cupitan? She's breathing pretty heavily...)
Manamel: ...
Manamel: (Sigh... I didn't say the nicest things to Cupitan today.)
Manamel: (It's just that... seeing Cupitan like that reminds me of my own past...)
The Aquatic Acolytes. An organization to which Manamel's parents were deeply devoted—to the point of neglecting their own daughter—and that Manamel's older sister was also involved with.
In order to protect Manamel, her older sister had become a priestess and attended the Aquatic Acolytes' meetings regularly.
When Manamel was little, she would stay by herself at home and wait for her sister's return every day. Her time with her older sister was everything to her.
One day, the Aquatic Acolytes dissolved. Manamel's parents hung themselves in front of her, and her sister has been missing since.
When Vegalta suddenly appeared, Manamel decided to go on a solo journey to find her sister.
Manamel: (Cupitan... has the same eyes as Mom and Dad. Clinging onto something as a saving grace...)
Manamel: (Still, I shouldn't have said it like that. I should apologize to Cupitan—)
Manamel: ...!
Flashy decorations are spread out across an underground room, contrasting the otherwise simple space.
Lavirita: Well then, to commemorate our new team member, Morilynn...
Lavirita: Cheers.
Tristette: ...
Morilynn: Oh, there's a moth flying around... This is an emergency.
Tristette: Hey, you! Stop chasing the moth just 'cause you saw it. It's irritating!
Morilynn: It's part of my ecology. Just as a sunflower reaches for the sun, or noodles that become soggy when left in the soup...
Morilynn: Waaait...
The clack of Morilynn's high heels echo as they continue chasing after the moth.
Lavirita: Did you know that there is apparently no difference in the biological classification between a moth and a butterfly?
Tristette: Do I look like I care? Everyone here is just so stupid!
Lavirita: I think Morilynn's rather unique and interesting. I will go ahead and request the appropriate reimbursement from Navis for any beverages unconsumed.
Morilynn: Update: the moth seems to like the warmth coming from the air vent.
Tristette: I really don't care!
Tristette: Tch!
Lavirita: Blurred vision, I assume? Being overly irritated could cause that to happen.
Tristette: ...
Lavirita: ...
This is rather inconvenient. I don't think we have much time.
Morilynn: Sigh... I wonder how Judah's doing.
Morilynn: Are these feelings an inevitable part of my ecology too?

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 2: Visible Light - Episode 2

Though Manamel is unharmed, the attack leaves the crew in a gloomy mood. (Captain) tells the others that it is important they trust one another despite the situation. The crew divides into three groups. Feather, Randall, and Fiorito are sparring with Ragazzo to help with his memory when suddenly, Nereus appears and reveals herself to be one of Navis's Chairmen.

The next morning, (Captain) and company head to the infirmary to meet up with the others.
However, they are met with a disquieting atmosphere.
Lyria: You were attacked by someone, Manamel?
Manamel: I'm fine... Vega fought them off.
Randall: You call this fine? You're lucky you didn't get hurt...
Late last night, a figure had appeared in the dark, swinging a blade.
Suspicious Shadow: ...!
Vegalta: ...!
Tikoh: What was that!
Troue: Ngh... What's the matter?
Manamel: Someone tried to attack me just now! Vega managed to—
Manamel: Huh?
Ragazzo: Where... is the person now?
Fiorito: Looks like everyone in this room just woke up...
Manamel: How... What is happening?
Cupitan: Do you think... it's the traitor again?
Manamel: I've been sick and stuck in bed plenty of times and it was fine. I'm used to being by myself.
Vyrn: First Troue gets attacked, and now Manamel...
Tikoh: Manamel was the one to realize there's a traitor, so maybe the person wanted her out of the way...
Manamel: ...
Tikoh: Hm? What's the matter, Manamel?
Manamel: ...
Nothing.
Manamel: You were here in the room too, Troue. Can't you, like, look at their memories or something?
Troue: I'm sorry... I can't feel any strong emotions—like bad feelings or murderous intent—left behind this time either...
Troue: Actually, um... I should have asked earlier. I don't think we're acquainted...
Manamel: Oh, right. I'm Manamel. The super cutest in all the skies.
Troue: Super cutest? It's... nice to meet you!
Kolulu: Allow me to start your morning routine and get you caught up for the day!
Kolulu: First, let's take a look at your notebook! After that, you can delve into your sword's memories and...
Kolulu begins to help Troue with his memories as usual.
While the two are catching up, the rest of the crew discuss the next plan of action.
Vyrn: So what do we do? We'll be in trouble if we make any wrong moves.
Manamel: But we'll be doing exactly what they want us to do if we just stand around.
Feather: If they're going this far, there's gotta be something they really don't want us to know... or something more to this island, right?
Randall: Should we keep looking around? Unless that's actually what they're hoping we'll do.
Cupitan: Right... This does remind me of what happened on Stella Island.
Fiorito: ...
The crew continue to think on their situation, casting suspicious glances at one another.
  1. Let's trust each other first.

Choose: Let's trust each other first.
(Captain) explains that if they don't trust each other and work together, the situation is only going to get worse.
Since none of them know what the enemy wants, all they can do right now is continue with their investigation on Horoscopes.
Tikoh: (Captain)'s right... Being suspicious of each other is only going to work to the enemy's advantage.
Randall: Yeah. We still have to look at the ruins south of here... and talk to Lodi.
Feather: Not to mention, Ragazzo still needs his memories back. Once he remembers, we might be able to get some new info on what to do from here!
Ragazzo: Y-yeah! Hopefully I can be of help.
Vyrn: Let's move together as much as possible. How about we split up into teams?
After some discussion, Feather, Randall, and Fiorito are left to accompany Ragazzo.
Manamel, Kolulu, and Troue are to continue searching for Lodi...
While (Captain), Vyrn, Lyria, Cupitan, and Tikoh will go to investigate the ruins.
Tikoh: Guess we'll see each other later then... Let's meet up at the inn again before it gets dark.
Manamel: ...
Manamel: ...!
Suspicious Shadow: ...!
Manamel: (I'll keep quiet for now... I don't want the traitor to know.)
Feather, Randall, and Fiorito decide to head out to the town area with Ragazzo in tow.
Randall: Well then... How should we go about stimulating Ragazzo's memories?
Feather: Haha, why're you even asking? Isn't it obvious?
Randall: Wait... You aren't thinking of—
Feather: Hraaah!
Ragazzo: Hah!
Randall: Sigh... So this is what we end up doing after all.
Fiorito: Ahaha... Well, Feather's doing it out of goodwill.
Fiorito: And I can't deny that this side of Feather's helped me out before too.
Randall: Heh. All Ragazzo's getting out of this is a sore body. Feather's been going all out in his training with the Lion Khan Claw.
Fiorito: You say that... but I don't think you're being honest with yourself, Coach.
Ragazzo: Haaah!
Feather: Oho! I'm impressed, Ragazzo! Haven't lost your touch, huh?
Randall: Wha, his arm's spouting fire! Is that a feature of those artificial limbs?
Fiorito: Yep! I heard some mechanic buff in our crew put a lot of effort into making 'em.
Randall: I'm surprised he's able to use them right away... Feather might find himself with a few burns if he keeps holding back.
Fiorito: Muscle memory, maybe? He can still move so much even without his Horoscope.
Randall: Even without his Horoscope, huh...
Ragazzo: Pant, pant... One second, I need a break...
Feather: Good idea, let's take a breather!
Hey, Fiorito! Think we can spar in the meantime?
Fiorito: Do you even know what taking a break means?
Feather: 'Course I do!
Randall: Wait a minute! Feather, another one of your teeth fell out!
Feather: Whoa... You're right!
Fiorito: Are you really okay? Maybe you should get Tikoh to take a look at you.
Feather: Yeah... Guess I should pick this one up and make sure it's safe—
However, the moment Feather bends down to retrieve his tooth...
Feather: T-the tooth disappeared!
Fiorito: What? How did that—
Nereus: Do you wish to know?
Fiorito: ...!
Fiorito: How'd she get behind us! I couldn't even feel her presence...
The Two: It's that person from before!
You're that person from before!
Nereus: I shall give you one more thing.
Feather: Wha! What just happened?
Nereus: It seems you are ready.
Randall: ...!
Nereus: It has been some time. I am pleased to see that the Horoscopes have been of use to you.
Randall: Sure, they've been useful... That still doesn't make us happy to see you.
Nereus: It is as you say. In our previous encounter, I had left without offering even my name.
She gives a respectful bow before raising her head to look at Feather and the others.
Nereus: My name is Nereus.
Nereus: I am one seated upon the stars—one of the three Chairmen of Navis.
The Four: ...!
The four stand before Nereus, shocked by the revealing of her identity.
The graceful smile playing at her lips is indecipherable, as dark and mysterious as the very bottom of the ocean.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 2: Visible Light - Episode 3

Manamel, Kolulu, and Troue set out to search for Lodi. They are surprised when they encounter him straight away. Lodi tells them he had picked up Parashu by coincidence, denying any relation to Navis. Elsewhere, Nereus tells Feather and the others about the conditions for being accordant with a Horoscope, and the price that they must pay. The crew members are speechless when they realize that Feather's lost teeth and Randall's bleeding are part of the price they are paying.

Manamel: All righty. Shall we go take care of some business?
Troue: Ah, I know what that means! That's a polite way of saying you're going to the bathroom, right?
Kolulu: No problem, Manamel! We'll be waiting right here...
Manamel: N-no! By business, I was thinking, like, picking some flowers!
Kolulu: Hm? Will flowers help us find Lodi?
Manamel: Maybe? I mean, on his artist profile it says he likes flowers, so...
Manamel: I was thinking, there's so much nature here at Ovuque. We could go around to some parks and who knows—we might bump into Lodi there.
Troue: I see! We'll have to stay on the lookout while we're walking then.
Manamel: You can still have fun and enjoy yourself... Wouldn't be great if we looked super suspicious anyway.
Manamel: Pretty sure someone's stopping us from meeting with Lodi—we probably wouldn't be able to find him going on a normal search.
Kolulu: Got it!
Troue, how about a competition to see who can find the biggest flower?
Troue: Very well! Hmm, I wonder if there's a good way to smell flowers in Roland's memories...
Kolulu: You're planning to copy him? That's not fair!
Manamel: Whew...
Manamel: Can't forget to take breaks, after all. Especially for those two...
Manamel lets out a sigh as she chases after her two friends, who are already busy running around the garden.
Manamel: Sigh... I really wanna see my sister-boo...
Kolulu: He's here!
Manamel: Huh?
Lodi: Why, hello! Are you a friend of these princesses as well?
Manamel: Whaaa! L-Lo... Lodi?
Troue: He came up to talk to us when we were picking flowers! He said he knew Kolulu...
Lodi: I wanted to express my thanks for the bread! If there's anything I can do for you, I'm at your service!
Kolulu: The amazing concert yesterday was more than enough! I don't need anything else...
Kolulu: Oh, but... there is one thing we'd like to talk to you about.
The three begin to explain their situation to Lodi. They tell him about the existence of Horoscopes as well as Navis.
After listening to everything the three have to say, Lodi nods.
Lodi: That's kind of amazing.
Manamel: Um, that's it? You're just gonna believe us like that?
Lodi: Of course I'll believe you! Kolulu seems like an honest person. And that power you mentioned... I think I have an idea.
Troue: If I may ask, how did you obtain Parashu?
Lodi: I picked it up with some coincidental chemistry! Something that can project my voice is useful, and it looks cool so I like it a lot.
Manamel: So... can we assume that you're not affiliated with Navis at all?
Lodi: I am a professional singer of bedtime stories! Whether you believe that or not, I'll leave it to you!
Lodi gives them a charming wink before twirling around and giving them a bow.
Lodi: Thank you for telling me something so important. Will you come to my concert again?
Kolulu: Wait.
Kolulu: The idol Lodi, and the Lodi I talked to before... Which one is the real you?
Lodi: That's a rather strange question to ask, Princess. Both are me, of course.
Kolulu: ...
Kolulu: When I found you in the bushes, you looked like you were starving for something...
Kolulu: That's the Lodi I gave my bread to.
Lodi: ...
Your eyes are gorgeous. More beautiful than those of an idol like me.
And with those words, Lodi waves his hand in farewell.
His sleeve slides down slightly as he does so, revealing part of a tattoo on his wrist.
Manamel: ...!
Hold it!
Lodi: Oh? How can I help you, my princess?
Manamel: That geometric pattern of your tattoo... That's what started it all for me... I'll never forget it!
Manamel: That's the mark of the Aquatic Acolytes. Why do you have it on you?
In the middle of a quiet field, Nereus's words stun the crew, who take up their fighting positions.
Feather: The Chairmen? You mean you're actually one of Navis's bosses, just like Ferdinand?
Nereus: Yes—however, I am not your enemy. I am an ally.
Fiorito: And you expect us to believe you? Who do you take us to be?
Nereus: I have given Feather and Randall my help in the past.
Nereus: I do not harbor any hostility toward you—you should already know that.
Randall: Yeah, but that doesn't mean we can let our guard down. What do you want from us?
With a smile still lingering on her lips, she spins her words, allowing the breeze to carry them for her.
Nereus: The time has come for you to understand the true nature of Horoscopes.
Fiorito: True nature?
Nereus: Are you aware of the conditions of becoming accordant with a Horoscope?
Randall: You handed them over to us yourself. A bit late to be talking about this now, don't you think?
Nereus: I have merely given them to you. Nothing is established without the wish of the wielder.
Nereus: What is required is not simply any wish.
Nereus: It must be a desire beyond madness that will strip you of your blood, flesh, and bones—one that will erase your past, and determine your future.
The Three: ...!
Feather: I wanna be strong... Stronger and stronger!
Feather: You mean... you can help me get stronger?
Randall: So you're called the Joyeuse, huh? What have you got in store for me?
Randall: Am I gonna come out on top against Feather—or at least stand toe-to-toe with him—if I take you up as my weapon?
Young Fiorito: (Navis... I have to take them down!)
As all of them think back to what happened in the past, Nereus continues.
Nereus: When the direction of your wish and the unique trait of a Horoscope align, you become accordant with the weapon.
Nereus: It also depends on the capacity of your heart—how much thought you can pour into it, and how often. It is a form of talent.
Nereus: A fate you were born with... A kind of aptitude called your "natal chart."
Feather: The power to make wishes come true... This weapon's incredible...
Nereus: Indeed. A tool of dreams that grants the very power one wishes for...
Nereus: However, accordance is hardly a miracle. To become accordant, one must also pay a suitable price.
Randall: A... price?
Randall: You don't mean...
Nereus: The teeth Feather has lost, and the blood that flows from Randall—that is only one part of it.
Nereus: As you wished for fortification of your body... it is only logical that you will eventually forfeit your body itself.
Fiorito: F-forfeit? What kind of joke is that...
Nereus: I believe you already realize the abnormalities occurring within your mind and body with the use of your Horoscopes.
Nereus: Horoscopes are living things. They draw out power from their Accordants, feed on it, and grow...
Feather: You... You tricked us!
Nereus: Not at all. I say this again: I am an ally.
Nereus: It is to my knowledge that all of you have been diligently training every day.
Nereus: Training is a practice where you offer up your time and efforts to obtain power. It is no different from being accordant with your Horoscope.
Randall: You can't be serious! So we've been in the palm of your hand, huh?
Nereus: ...
Nereus: One can say you are right, yet also wrong.
Nereus: What I seek from all of you is an unbound asterism... To dance madly, and freely.
Fiorito: Dance... madly and freely?
Nereus: Seek out the truth. May you sail beyond the constellations of Navis and destroy the madness of this universe...
Nereus: Let us meet again.
Randall: Damn it! She's gone...
The Three: ...
The three stand motionless and dazed. From the moment they first touched their Horoscopes, they had already felt it...
That what they just heard from Nereus is nothing but the truth.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 2: Visible Light - Episode 4

(Captain), Vyrn, Lyria, Tikoh, and Cupitan are in a forest located in the southern part of the island. When they reach the site of the ruins, they find pictures of the Horoscopes drawn on its walls. The remainders of a lost village cause Cupitan to remember something from a time when she and Tristette were running away from Navis. As forgotten memories of how she received food from villagers surface in her mind, Cupitan goes into a frenzy. Tristette and the other Auditors watch from afar.

(Captain), Vyrn, Lyria, Tikoh, and Cupitan arrive at the ancient ruins, situated in the middle of a magnificent forest.
The five begin their investigation of the long-forgotten site.
Vyrn: Hey, look! There's something drawn on the wall here.
Tikoh: Is this... the Asclepius Rod?
Cupitan: And here's the Rainbow Bow! There are paintings of other weapons too... Twenty-three in total.
Cupitan: It matches the information I've confirmed already, so this has to be a list of the Horoscopes!
Tikoh: Look at the positioning... There are ten of them on the west side, and thirteen on the east side. It looks like they're divided into two groups...
Vyrn: This is a huge discovery! We didn't find anything before this, and now they're all here!
Tikoh: ...
Tikoh: (It feels a little too convenient that these ruins have been left as they are like this...)
Lyria: Tikoh?
Tikoh: Oh... Nothing. Let's keep looking.
Vyrn: Are these part of the ruins too? Looks like it used to be some kinda building...
Tikoh: It seems there used to be a settlement here. From the map's notations and scattered signs of people living here, I'd guess it was about a decade ago.
Tikoh: Maybe they all moved to the north once the construction of the arena started...
Cupitan: A village in a forest... and... bread?
Tikoh: Cupitan? Is something the matter?
Just then, something surfaces from the depths of Cupitan's memory.
Villager 1: Wha? You want this bread?
Young Cupitan: Yes... You see, Ris and I are running away from some bad people...
Villager 2: Ris? That your friend's name?
Young Cupitan: It is! She's waiting for me over there. She's very hungry...
Cupitan: That's right... This is where I met those villagers and...
Young Cupitan: Look, Ris! The people from the village were so kind. They gave me all this bread!
Young Cupitan: ...
Cupitan: Huh... Why didn't they give it to me right away?
Cupitan: This is different from what I remember... What's going on?
A determined young Cupitan takes a step forward, contrary to what existed in Cupitan's memory just a moment ago.
Not too long after, the villagers are lying on the ground, groaning. The young Cupitan stands nearby, clutching bread in her hands.
Young Cupitan: Look, Ris! The people from the village were so kind. They gave me all this bread!
Cupitan: Aaaah!
Tikoh: Cupitan!
Cupitan drops to a crouch, her eyes wide open as her whole body shakes.
Cupitan: Ah... A-ah... Why... How?
Young Cupitan: It's going to be okay. The two of us are one, after all.
Young Cupitan: As long as we're together, Ris, we can carry the burden of this crime for the rest of our lives.
Cupitan: ...!
Cupitan: Was that... a dream?
Jerking awake, Cupitan sits up and surveys her surroundings.
She realizes she is in the infirmary back at the inn. A notebook is left on the bedside table.
Cupitan: This is Ti's writing... She wrote about my condition...
Cupitan: That's right... I collapsed in the forest...
Cupitan: So it wasn't a dream... but how much of it wasn't?
Just then, footsteps can be heard approaching the infirmary from the hallway outside.
Cupitan: Ti, is that you? I just woke up—
Once (Captain) and company are gone from the forest, three figures appear, talking quietly among themselves.
Lavirita: The wielder of the Rainbow Bow seemed quite distraught... I wonder what happened.
Tristette: ...
Who cares.
Lavirita: You seem very reluctant.... Tracking them is part of the constellation this time, so I hope you can cooperate.
Tristette: I am cooperating! We were supposed to make an attack if they touched the wall, but nothing like that even happened.
Tristette: Oh yeah. You handle the mission report, 'cause I'm not doing that.
Lavirita: I have to say... I hardly feel like working overtime for some pocket change either.
Morilynn: Are you sure about this, Tristette?
Tristette: Wha? Sure about what?
Morilynn: Your friend might die as a result this time. Like, kick the bucket for good.
Tristette: Tch! I told you, she's not my friend!
Tristette: She's just a stupid stalker who's stuck in the past! It's gross.
Lavirita: Well, practically speaking, soon that may not pose as a problem for you anymore, Tristette.
Lavirita: From what I have observed, the price for using the Rainbow Bow to manipulate emotions... is the collapse of one's own emotions.
Tristette: ...
Lavirita: Recently she has been making one of her friends play the role of you, and her behavior is becoming strange. She is clearly emotionally unstable.
Lavirita: She will go mad, lose herself, and suffer as the line between dream and reality becomes more and more blurred. I wouldn't be surprised if she simply dies like that.
Tristette: ...
Well, good riddance. And you'll be the one to report that too when it happens.
Morilynn: ...
Ovuque Island suddenly finds itself facing great change as the Auditors of Navis proceed with their work.
But not even the Auditors know where this constellation will take all of them.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 3: Trajectory - Episode 1

The crew gather once more to share their findings for the day. The Accordants are unsure what to think after learning the truth behind their Horoscopes. Manamel tries to talk to Cupitan, but is confused by the incoherence in Cupitan's words. In another place, an expressionless Lodi talks with Nereus—his producer—and explains how he is empty inside. Nereus tells Lodi that she will fill his empty cup.

When evening comes, (Captain) and company gather in a sitting room at the inn to share their findings for the day.
Vyrn: Nereus appeared, we found out about the price of becoming accordant with Horoscopes, we got to talk to Lodi, and looked around the ruins...
Feather: Everything's still a jumble in my head, but sounds like we got a lot done!
Randall: What about the traitor? Did they do anything today?
Fiorito: Who knows...
Cupitan: Anyway, I'm glad we got some answers! That's one step forward!
Troue: Cupitan? I heard you collapsed at the ruins... Um, are you all right?
Cupitan: Hehe... I'm great, just like always!
Tikoh: ...
Lyria: Um... Horoscopes aren't just weapons, are they? They're things that require a price...
Lyria: Wouldn't it be better if we just let go of them once and for all?
Accordants: ...
The Horoscope wielders exchange looks, as if to gauge whether the feeling was the same between them.
Fiorito: Our Horoscope... is our wish itself. We can't just let it go... and even if we did, I have a feeling it'd just come back to us.
Tikoh: I feel the same, though it might be incomprehensible to you, (Captain)...
Ragazzo: My wish, huh...
Feather: You remember something?
Ragazzo: Um, not exactly... But I was an Accordant too, right?
Ragazzo: If I had a wish that important too, it's something I shouldn't forget...
Randall: It's okay if you don't remember. That's what I think.
Ragazzo: Randall?
Randall: A wish... is like a curse. Something you can't give up on even if you wanted to.
Randall: If you were able to cut loose from it, then maybe you should leave it that way.
Ragazzo: ...
After the meeting, the crew splits up into two groups. One group goes out to buy their dinner for the night, while the other stays at the inn.
The air is heavy as Feather, Randall, Ragazzo, Tikoh, Kolulu, and Troue sit quietly in their room.
Kolulu: Um, I wanted to ask... Are all of you aware of what powers your Horoscopes possess?
Kolulu: I may be wielding Gisla, but to be honest, there's nothing in particular that I sense from it...
Troue: Me too... I don't know what Durandal's power actually is.
Ragazzo: Really? But what about your Gift of Visions?
Troue: Apparently that's something I got from breathing in the phantomblooms' poison back home... It seems unrelated to my Horoscope.
Feather: Hm? Speaking of which, I just noticed—what happened to your Horoscopes?
Troue: The thing is... After hearing about the price we have to pay for using it, we got scared...
Kolulu: The two of us don't know the powers of our weapons. We can't abandon them... so we've decided to put them away for now and distance ourselves a bit.
Randall: That's a good idea... Don't go and get yourself cursed if you don't need to.
Randall gazes at the glowing Joyeuse on his leg.
Randall: (Will I... be able to let go of this?)
Meanwhile, (Captain), Vyrn, Lyria, Manamel, Cupitan, and Fiorito are out buying ingredients for dinner.
Lyria: Hmm... I think the broccoli at the shop earlier was cheaper...
Fiorito: I can go back and get it! I'll be quick—
Vyrn: Hold it! We shouldn't go off on our own.
Fiorito: Oh yeah, that's right...
As the group continues walking, Manamel suddenly turns to Cupitan.
Manamel: I'm sorry about yesterday. I said too much.
Cupitan: Manamel?
Cupitan: It's fine, Mana! I shouldn't worry so much about Ris!
Manamel: Huh? Um... what?
Cupitan: It's like you said, Manamel. There's no point in me chasing after Ris now!
Manamel: Cupitan? Are you... feeling okay?
Cupitan: Of course! I have to keep working hard so I can find Ris!
Manamel: ...
Cupitan: Speaking of which, were you able to get Lodi's autograph when you saw him?
Manamel: A-autograph? No, I don't really care much about autographs...
Manamel: Oh, but he sang a song for us before he left.
Cupitan: Wha! I'm sooo jealous!
Manamel: He sang it while saying goodbye. I feel like it reminded me of something, but his singing was so good I completely forgot what I was thinking...
Manamel: I wish I could've listen to it with my sister-boo...
Someone silently enters a performer's green room.
Lodi: Good morning, Producer...
Nereus: The concert was an incredible success. Well done.
The producer—Nereus—appears pleased with Lodi's performance.
Lodi: ...
Are you sure you don't want to see her? She's your...
Nereus: Lodi... What is an idol to you?
Lodi: Someone who brings happiness to everyone even at their own expense!
Nereus: Yes, one who saves everyone... That is me, the producer. Thus, there is no need for me to see any single person.
Nereus: Hehe. You did not need to ask something you do not genuinely care for, Lodi.
Lodi: ...
You see through everything, Producer.
Nereus: Libra... The connection between your neutral disinterest and self-imposed starvation is intriguing indeed.
Lodi: I have nothing. No hope, no despair, no desire...
Nereus: Not possessing the "self" that must be sacrificed in order to bring everyone happiness is the biggest advantage to an idol.
Lodi: Can I save the skies... even when I have nothing?
Nereus: A foolish question. Your cup may be empty... but I am here to fill it.
Lodi: ...
After Nereus has left, Lodi abruptly reaches into his pocket and takes out something.
Lodi: Bread, huh...
Kolulu: The idol Lodi, and the Lodi I talked to before... Which one is the real you?
Kolulu: That's the Lodi I gave my bread to.
Lodi: ...
Bleh.
Lodi tries to eat the bread, but immediately presses a hand to his mouth. He returns the bread to his pocket.
His face is cold and emotionless— completely different from the idol who stood on stage just a while ago.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 3: Trajectory - Episode 2

Just before bed, (Captain) and company spend some time together in their room, talking among themselves. Meanwhile at the arena, Ferdinand, Judah, and Nereus gather on the stage to reconfirm the crew's current situation as well as their plans going forward.

That night, the crew gather once more in the large room and spend some time together before going to sleep.
They divide into smaller groups among themselves to talk. Feather and Randall sit quietly in the corner, looking down at the floor.
Feather: Did we... go wrong somewhere?
Randall: Are you talking about the price we have to pay?
Feather: We've always fought together as one, ever since we were little...
Randall: Yeah... Even when you didn't have any weapons, you'd swing your fists around like a windmill.
Feather: The Lion Khan Claw... Am I becoming any stronger, now that I'm swinging these talons around?
Randall: ...
Feather: I don't really care if I lose my teeth or won't be able to move my body anymore.
Feather: But... is this the kind of strength I want?
In another part of the room, Kolulu and Troue are happily playing a board game.
Kolulu: Hah! I'm not headstrong for nothing, after all!
Troue: Ah! I didn't think of that... All of my pieces got turned over...
Kolulu: Heheh! Now the majority of the pieces are white... I win!
Troue: Haha. I guess I lost... It was still very enjoyable though!
Troue: I was able to see so many fun memories by interacting with the pieces and the board.
Kolulu: I'm glad to hear! This game does contain a lot of memories for us.
Kolulu: The two of us happened to find this board and some pieces when we went to a flea market... We got so excited when we saw them!
Troue: Ah! Yes, I could see that particular memory very clearly even through my gloves!
Troue: I must have been so happy that day.
Fiorito: What're you two doing?
Kolulu: Oh, Fiorito! This is a game I really like...
Troue: If you can sandwich a white piece with black pieces, the white piece gets flipped over and becomes black.
Fiorito: The white piece... becomes a black piece?
Fiorito: ...
Two weeks ago, when the crew were busy with preparing for their trip to Ovuque Island...
Monster: ...
Fiorito: (That's Tristette's monster... It's a job for me.)
Fiorito spots a letter in the monster's mouth. She takes the letter and reads it before returning it to the monster.
Fiorito: These instructions... What do they mean?
Fiorito: (Those pieces... I'm just like them.)
Fiorito: (I appear to be white on one side... but am pitch-black on the other.)
On the sofa in the middle of the room, Tikoh is checking the condition of Ragazzo's artificial arms.
Tikoh: I can't believe you pushed yourself like that... You even used the arms' functions without consulting your doctor first.
Ragazzo: I'm sorry... I got too excited and didn't think much about it...
Ragazzo: Um, Dr. Tikoh. Was I... a bad person?
Tikoh: ...
I'm not sure. I don't know what's good and what's bad.
Ragazzo: You don't know?
Tikoh: There was a time I resented you. You may have been used and tossed away by that thing, but... if you hadn't been there in the first place, I might've been able to...
Ragazzo: ...
Tikoh: But I don't regret my decision.
Tikoh: I want to save lives as a doctor. That is my wish.
Despite her conflicted expression, Tikoh smiles and looks over at the Asclepius Rod.
Tikoh: Anyway... I derailed from our conversation. You probably don't know what I'm talking about.
Ragazzo: No... Somehow, I think I do.
Ragazzo: Thanks, Dr. Tikoh. For saving me.
The arena is as silent as a graveyard, without a single person in sight. The roof is closed, hiding the night sky.
Suddenly, the sound of solemn footsteps echo across the venue, and two figures appear on the stage.
Ferdinand: Ovuque Island... What a nostalgic place.
Judah: Only for you. I don't have the patience for your old stories.
The two slowly walk across the large stage before taking a seat where three chairs are set up.
Ferdinand: There is more than one traitor by (Captain)'s side.
Ferdinand: I wonder who (Captain) thinks is the traitor at this point in time.
Judah: (Captain)'s opinion... So we've arrived at the final review of the plan.
Judah: Before we talk about our predictions, let's sort out the sequence of events up until now.
Judah: (Captain) and the others came to Ovuque Island hoping to find clues on Horoscopes.
Judah: On their way, an explosion happened in the ship's engine room. Tikoh and Cupitan went to the room... and Troue couldn't pick up anything with his Gift of Visions.
Ferdinand: An incident without any trace of emotion... That was the first incident, yes.
Judah: The second incident happened after Lodi's concert... when Troue was stabbed by someone.
Judah: The first ones to find him were Manamel and company... At the time, everyone was on their own, so anyone could have committed the crime.
Ferdinand: The Gift of Visions is an incredibly useful power, after all. It's no surprise that Troue would become the first victim.
Judah: And the third incident occurred that night. While they were sleeping, Manamel was attacked.
Judah: Between all of that, Ragazzo woke up, and Cupitan collapsed from hysteria. Quite a few things we can't overlook.
Ferdinand: Hmm... If you were (Captain), Judah, who would you assume to be the traitor?
Judah: The most suspicious person among them must be Fiorito.
Judah: She is very clearly hiding something—a secret she doesn't want the others to know.
Judah: How do you see it, Ferdinand?
Ferdinand: For me... I may suspect Feather and Randall of being complicit.
Judah: Oh?
Ferdinand: The two are always together and work perfectly in sync.
Nereus: Have you forgotten the one who is the most blatantly suspicious?
Ferdinand: Ahh! "Nereus" now, is it? It's been a while since all three of us gathered like this!
Nereus walks gracefully over to the two and takes a seat in the last chair.
Nereus: Among the Accordants, Cupitan possesses the strongest power of perception... We cannot neglect her.
Nereus: She would be able to camouflage her emotions for the first incident, and use a Prism Arrow on a passerby to bring about the second incident.
Ferdinand: I see... And for the third incident, she could have made it so Manamel thought she had been stabbed.
The three Chairmen go through their plan at leisure, as if exchanging their thoughts after an entertaining show.
Nereus: Still, the situation is one where anyone can appear suspicious, yet also innocent.
Judah: In other words, it's going very well... minus the slight irregularities.
The pleasant chatter subsides, replaced by a chilling tension.
Ferdinand: Now, let's move on to the main topic, shall we? We must join the constellations.
Judah: According to your astrology, three Horoscopes are set to reach harmonization this time.
Ferdinand: Yes. Feather, Randall, and Dr. Tikoh...
Ferdinand: Though it's sad to say goodbye, it is time for their harvest.
Nereus: ...
Ferdinand: Now, let's hear about your astrologies one more time.
The words the Chairmen exchange are so quiet they fail to reach even the seats of the arena, vanishing into the void as soon as they are spoken.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 3: Trajectory - Episode 3

That night, Tristette, Lavirita, Morilynn, and Lodi launch an attack on (Captain) and company as the crew is sleeping together in one room. Lodi reveals himself to be Auditor Quarto of Navis, and that his weapon Parashu has the ability to make any person feel content through his singing. Under the effect of his power, the crew is unable to move. The Auditors kidnap (Captain), Lyria, and Vyrn and make their exit.

That same night, the crew all sleep side by side in the large room to discourage any suspicious behavior.
The hour is growing late when the distant sound of someone singing drifts into (Captain)'s ears, as soothing as waves on a shore.
Singing Voice: Even if our feelings are different
And the sky turns cloudy
  1. This voice...

Choose: This voice...
The music slowly pulls the captain out of the depths of slumber.
Lavirita: Have you awoken?
  1. ...!

Choose: ...!
Morilynn: Good evening this evening. Excuse us for the inexcusable.
The captain looks up to find four figures hovering from above.
(Captain) immediately tries to reach out for a weapon, but is strangely unable to move.
Instead, a curious feeling of satisfaction fills (Captain) as all strength is drained from the captain's body.
Lodi: Let us go
To the end of the skies
  1. Lodi!

Choose: Lodi!
Lodi: Chemistry! This is Parashu's power.
Lodi: Any princess in a crabby mood will find themselves feeling perfectly content after listening to the sound of my singing through Parashu.
An image of the concert the other day comes to (Captain)'s mind.
Thousands of spectators fill the venue, every single person cheering with a smile on their face.
Lodi: It seems your enmity has turned to contentment as well.
The captain looks around to see that the others have also awoken to find themselves unable to move.
Lodi: I told you I'm a professional singer of bedtime stories, remember?
Manamel: ...!
Lodi: Ah, yes. I used my power to turn your suspicion into something more amicable back then as well.
Manamel: That geometric pattern of your tattoo... That's what started it all for me... I'll never forget it!
Manamel: That's the mark of the Aquatic Acolytes. Why do you have it on you?
Lodi: The power to make everyone happy... It's perfect for an idol!
Kolulu: ...!
Lodi: Allow me to introduce myself once again—the name's Lodi, Auditor Quarto. At your service!
Tristette: Tch! Yeah, yeah—just keep singing, will ya! You want 'em to start moving again?
Lavirita: I hear you are an Auditor working under a Chairman different from Morilynn's... Very interesting indeed.
Fiorito: ...!
Morilynn: Oh, is that Miss Macho? I didn't think we would meet again here...
Morilynn: Hm?
Lavirita: Now, how about we wrap this up? We'll leave this to you, Tristette.
Tristette: Don't boss me around!
Go, my stupid army!
Monsters: ...!
At Tristette's call, the monsters sling (Captain), Vyrn, and Lyria over their backs.
They jump out the window of the room and proceed to run deep into the darkness.
Feather & Randall: ...!
Lavirita: I'm very sorry, but we'll be taking those three with us. Works toward profit, you see.
Lavirita: ...
Fiorito: ...!
The Auditors make their exit, calmly walking away until they disappear into the night.
The remaining members of the crew succumb to the sweet, lingering notes of Lodi's singing and fall back into slumber.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 3: Trajectory - Episode 4

The next morning, the remaining crew members at the inn try to form a rescue plan, but find it difficult to bring their thoughts together without the usual presence of (Captain) and the others. They decide to split into several groups to take a break and refresh themselves. Fiorito is sitting alone on a bench, worrying about (Captain), when Ragazzo approaches her with a bold smile on his face.

Tristette: And so, those white wings... become tainted.
Young Cupitan: ...
We killed him.
Tristette: That bright, shining light that once saved me...
Tristette: Stained with blood, dirt, and something... filthy.
Young Cupitan: It's going to be okay. The two of us are one, after all.
Young Cupitan: As long as we're together, Ris, we can carry the burden of this crime for the rest of our lives.
Tristette: Yeah, right. I'm not gonna carry anything... 'specially not with you.
Morilynn: Me?
Tristette: Whoa!
Tristette: Wh-what the hell! Don't hang upside down so close to my face like that!
Morilynn: I heard how you care a lot about who's above and below, Tristette.
Tristette: Lavirita! Are you going off and blabbing behind my back?
Lavirita: I believe you have only yourself to blame for falling asleep during our meeting.
Tristette: Rrgh...
Lodi: Be quiet.
Tristette: Hey, you. You're totally different to how you were just a moment ago.
The Auditors are gathered in a room underground to talk over the events so far.
Lavirita: Though I'm not interested in knowing what the Chairmen's intentions are, we have successfully followed and abducted the targets, completing our mission.
Morilynn: The ruins in the south... Was it a moth, or was it a butterfly...
Lavirita: Are you asking whether the ruins were real or fabricated? I assume they were something made by Navis to bait (Captain)'s crew.
Tristette: Speaking of that, stupid Ragazzo's alive!
Lavirita: Yes... Personally, I'm glad he is.
The next day, the crew wakes up in the large room of the inn. The gloom in the air is palpable.
The Crew: ...
Kolulu: We have to go and save (Captain) and the others as soon as possible!
Manamel: Definitely. We don't have time to hang around feeling down.
The group begin to exchange ideas on how to rescue their friends.
However, without (Captain), Vyrn, and Lyria, they find it hard to bring their thoughts together.
Fiorito: ...
Feather: Fiorito? You're looking kinda pale there.
Fiorito: Sorry... Think I could go outside for a breath of fresh air?
Randall: I get the feeling of wanting some air... but we've got to stay as a group—
Cupitan: It should be okay. I mean, not just Fio—I think we all need a break.
Cupitan: The color of your hearts... It's turning into a dull gray, like the color of a murky river. If we keep this up, we'll eventually break...
Tikoh: ...
Troue: I guess so... The fact that we haven't been killed yet means that we're not in any immediate danger...
Kolulu: Taking the time to calm down and sort through our own thoughts is important too.
Randall: Yeah... You're right.
The crew stands up, obviously exhausted from the direness of the situation.
Manamel: Tikoh, got a sec?
Tikoh: ...?
Manamel: I have something I want to say. Can we talk with just the two of us?
Tikoh: ...!
Feather, Randall, Kolulu, and Troue stroll down a path near the arena, hoping to gather some information.
Randall: What do you think, Feather?
Feather: What do I think... about what?
Randall: You know what I mean. About Fiorito.
Feather: ...!
Kolulu: Randall, are you... suspecting Fiorito of something?
Randall: You have to admit... wanting to step away at a time like this is weird.
Feather: I'm disappointed in you, Randall! We've trained with Fiorito so many times—you can tell she's a good person!
Randall: I can tell that every one of us thinks she is a good person!
Feather: ...!
Randall: If we don't get to the bottom of it, things might take a turn for the worse. Then we won't be able to fix the situation!
Feather: Still... I just can't bring myself to doubt her!
Randall: I don't want to doubt her either! But we still have to face the facts and—
Troue: Um... Please, let's stop!
Troue: We're outside to refresh ourselves... Let's not spoil it. Look, there's a stall for briny-bites! How about we get some?
Kolulu: Troue...
Troue: Come on! Some fluffy, chewy bites will be sure to blow our gloomy mood away!
Troue: ...
Our crew is one big family. I might "disappear" every day, but you still give me plenty of memories...
Troue: Even though I'll forget by tomorrow, I don't want to doubt or fight anyone here.
Troue: Let's leave the competition for board games! That'd be much more fun!
Feather: Troue...
Randall: Troue's right. I've been on edge so much lately, it's pathetic.
Feather: Me too... I'm getting heated way too easily.
Randall: Maybe we should hold back on the briny-bites though. Thanks to a certain someone, we've been having too much fried food lately...
Feather: Haha, true. How about some nice, buttered potatoes over there then?
Troue: Buttered potatoes! That sounds great!
Kolulu: ...
Fiorito: Sigh... That was kinda forced.
Fiorito sighs to herself as she sits alone on a bench in the town square.
Fiorito: I thought I'd receive more instructions if I managed to get away from the others, but...
Fiorito: These instructions... What do they mean?
Fiorito: ("Watch and wait"—I didn't think they'd actually send a letter just to instruct me to do nothing...)
Fiorito: (I don't understand anything about the constellation this time...)
Fiorito: (Before I knew it, there were more Auditors. And I've met Morilynn before...)
Fiorito thinks back to the silly encounter she once had with Morilynn. That was the first time they had ever met.
Fiorito: (Is (Captain)... gonna be okay? Ferdinand's plans are—)
Ragazzo: Fiorito.
Fiorito: ...!
Ra-Ragazzo. I didn't see you there.
Ragazzo: Your lid's pretty blown off if you couldn't even sense my presence, eh?
Fiorito: Huh?
Feeling something off about Ragazzo, Fiorito leaps to her feet.
Fiorito: What... happened to you?
Ragazzo: ...
Ragazzo's lips curl into a sneer. He waves his artificial arms around, as if testing them.
As Fiorito watches cautiously, the man reaches up to comb his hair back.
Ragazzo: So how are ya, Sesto? Still hangin' in there?
Fiorito: ...!

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 3: Trajectory - Episode 5

Tristette sits alone, reflecting on her past. She thinks back to her childhood, when she had already known that she harbored uncontrollable feelings for Cupitan, who had done so much for Tristette's sake. Meanwhile, Ragazzo reveals to Fiorito that his amnesia was a lie, and that he plans to go back to Ferdinand. He encourages Fiorito to leave Navis before taking his leave.

Tristette sits down on a grimy bed and looks up at the dark, moldy ceiling above her.
Tristette: ...
Tristette: I used to be trapped in a cramped room like this, hating the world every single day...
Tristette: It's weird how this feels comforting now...
Tristette: I broke out from my cage and ran around like a wild beast...
Young Tristette: Hehehe! Even the miracle maiden's scared of me. That puts me above her, right?
Tristette: I wanted to stand above everything, and make sure every single person acknowledged me.
Tristette: But then you...
Young Cupitan: Let's be friends! Our hearts have the same shade, so I'm sure we can be good friends in no time.
Tristette: You stayed beside me, smiling.
Tristette: It's like you were sent from heaven... I didn't think I'd ever see anyone that way.
Tristette: But that shining light of yours already made you above me at that point.
Tristette: That's why, back then when I saw what happened...
Villager 1: Wha? You want this bread?
Young Cupitan: Yes... You see, Ris and I are running away from some bad people...
Young Tristette: ...!
Young Tristette: (Ahh... Cupitan...
All... for my sake!)
Tristette: (I watched everything. All the way through. My eyes never left you...)
Young Tristette: ...!
Young Tristette: Pant... Pant...
Tristette: The delight of your sacrifice. Jealousy. Excitement. Hatred. Envy. Guilt from watching. Excitement. Self-loathing. Then excitement again—excitement, and pleasure...
Young Cupitan: Look, Ris! The people from the village were so kind. They gave me all this bread!
Young Tristette: ...!
Tristette: I tried so hard to stop myself from shaking uncontrollably—to hide the thrill I was feeling!
Tristette: When I was with you, my head was a mess, and I couldn't act normally.
Tristette: And that's why I decided to...
Tristette: When I said I felt you were always looking down on me, that was the truth. But...
Tristette takes a Prism Arrow—already deprived of its color—out from her pocket and stares emptily at it.
Tristette: Who knows what the truth is exactly.
Beside the benches in the town square, Fiorito stares at the grinning Ragazzo, baffled.
Ragazzo: What's the matter? Where's the snotty reply I was expecting from ya?
Fiorito: The way you're talking... What's going on?
Ragazzo: Ha! You lost your touch or something?
Ragazzo: I ain't got amnesia. I got all my memories right here in my head—from the very start.
Fiorito: ...
What?
Ragazzo: The whole amnesia thing was fake. Honestly, I deserve a trophy for my convincing act.
Ragazzo: I remember everything. The battle at the observation tower... and about Ferdinand.
Fiorito: Wha... Are you being serious?
Ragazzo: Heh heh. So we agree? A gold trophy?
Cupitan: No, it's nothing. I don't think it's anything bad, so...
Ragazzo: Well, the Rainbow Bow girl let me off the hook 'cause she didn't think I was doing anything bad.
Fiorito: I've got a lot to say, but let me just get this out first...
Fiorito: You've gotta be kidding me!
Ragazzo: Wha!
Fiorito: Do you even know how much trouble you caused? Ahh, I wasted all my time worrying for nothing!
Ragazzo: All right, all right. I'm sorry I didn't tell you, okay?
Ragazzo: I just wanted to see how things were going. No one exactly looks forward to getting interrogated. Besides...
Ragazzo: I wanted to know how it'd feel, you know?
Fiorito: Wha?
Anyway, we've got to tell everyone about this. We'll figure out what to do after—
Ragazzo: ...
I'm going back to Ferdinand.
Fiorito: ...!
Fiorito: Are you sure you didn't lose your memories?
Ragazzo: One hundred percent. Getting your arms cut off... Oof, let me tell ya, that hurt like hell.
Fiorito: Then why—
Ragazzo: I told you, didn't I? I live so I can return the debt I owe.
Fiorito: Debt? You were being deceived!
Fiorito: You know that, right? Everything in your past was orchestrated—
Ragazzo: But the present isn't, right?
Fiorito: ...!
Ragazzo: I'm pretty confident... that he doesn't expect me to go back to him. Not even a bit.
Ragazzo: These feelings I have inside me this very moment... It's a path I chose myself.
Fiorito: You don't have to choose a path like that, Ace. You can stay in this crew and—
Ragazzo: Hah, and enjoy a laid-back skyfarer life, huh? I might actually like it.
Ragazzo: I haven't spent a ton of time with 'em, but... I kinda get why you like it here so much.
With a wry smile, Ragazzo puts a hand on Fiorito's shoulder.
Ragazzo: I still don't know anything about why you're working for Navis...
Ragazzo: But my guess is that you don't need to be in it.
Fiorito: Wha!
Ragazzo: To me... you seem like you'd be a lot more suited for working with that bunch of Goody Two-shoes.
Ragazzo: Fiorito. Don't lose sight of what you want for yourself.
Fiorito: Please. You just love talking down like an ace, don't you? Honestly there're no good memories from the times I worked with you.
Ragazzo: Are you serious! You've really got no idea how much I helped you behind your back!
Fiorito: Yeah, and you telling me now just cancels it all out. Nice try, small fry.
Ragazzo: You little...
Fiorito: ...
I know.
Fiorito: To be honest, I wanna stop you... But I'll walk my own path, and you walk yours.
Ragazzo: Right...
Try not to die, yeah? Bye-bye!
Ragazzo takes a step forward, turning so his back is facing Fiorito.
Ragazzo: Oh yeah, I'll let you in on one thing.
Ragazzo: He told me once that each Chairman has Auditors working under 'em.
Ragazzo: You know what this means, right? Auditors ain't the main members of Navis at all. We're nothing but pawns the Chairmen are using for their own conspiracy.
Fiorito: ...
Without looking back, Ragazzo takes his leave.
Fiorito: (I know... I didn't even have any idea about the price of using Horoscopes, or who the other Chairmen were...)
Fiorito: (I won't be able to get any more information I want by staying in Navis as an Auditor.)
Fiorito: (What should I do? How can I avenge my dad?)
Fiorito looks down at the Sphairai embellishing her fist.
Fiorito: Fist... Palm...
Lavirita: I'm very sorry, but we'll be taking those three with us. Works toward profit, you see.
Lavirita: ...
Fiorito: ...!
Fiorito: I didn't understand Lavirita's signal back then...
Lavirita: (As you wish. And after that...)
Fiorito: Seriously... Why're all the seniors at work telling me to resign? Do they all hate me that much?
Lyria: We know just how kind and strong you are, Fio. Whatever happens, we'll trust you!
Vyrn: And you've probably got your own reasons, but when you're ready to talk, we'll be here to listen, okay?
Fiorito: ...
Fiorito gazes out toward Ragazzo, whose retreating figure is now barely visible.
Fiorito: Guess whether you're an ace or not won't matter to me anymore... Ragazzo.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 4: Exposure - Episode 1

Having made up her mind to leave Navis, Fiorito explains to the crew that she was an Auditor all along. After the crew members accept her apology, they all put their heads together to figure out how to rescue their kidnapped crew members. Nereus watches this unfold and declares that she will continue observing.

Fiorito has gathered everyone into the large-sized room to tell them what happened.
Feather: Ragazzo left?
Fiorito: That's right. The amnesia was all an act. He had all his memories the whole time.
Randall: But where did he go?
Fiorito: He said he was going back to Ferdinand.
Tikoh: ...!
Feather: Why would he do that? Ferdinand—
Manamel: Like Cupitan said, it's not easy to change how you feel about someone.
Randall: Even so, how could he...
Tikoh: Hey, Fiorito. Can I ask you something?
Tikoh: Why did Ragazzo tell you all this?
Fiorito: ...
Fiorito: There's something I need to confess to all of you.
Fiorito steels her resolve and tells them everything.
The fact that she is an Auditor, that she had been ordered to infiltrate the crew, the reason she chose to join Navis as a child...
And finally, that she is not the "traitor."
Fiorito: I'm sorry. I've been deceiving you all this whole time.
Fiorito: But after spending time with you, I've come to love this crew. Even though I have no right to feel that way.
The Crew: ...
Fiorito: I don't have anything to do with all of the stuff that's happened since we got here, and I don't know who does... but every time we started talking about the traitor, I felt like I was going to go mad with guilt.
Fiorito: Needless to say, I don't expect you guys to forgive me anytime soon.
Fiorito: But... I'm going to leave Navis.
Fiorito: I'm really so sorry!
With nothing more to say, Fiorito merely stands before the group with her head bowed deeply.
Manamel: You're part of Navis, but you're not the traitor? Do you really expect us to believe that?
Cupitan: Wait, she's not lying! Her emotions are a pure milky-white!
Feather: I'm gonna trust my fists... and they tell me to trust Fiorito.
Feather: A fist pal's a fist pal, no matter what!
Fiorito: Feather...
Randall: Well, this answers a lot of questions. Like why you were always checking on Ragazzo when he was still unconscious.
Randall: Sigh... My head's telling me that I shouldn't just take you at your word, but...
Troue: Should I... use my Gift of Visions to see what the truth is? If I check through the memories that Sphairai holds...
Randall: ...
No, there's no need! I'm not enough of a coward to brush aside a friend's decision to trust me!
Feather: Randall...
Kolulu: Ungh... You had to keep such a harrowing secret to yourself for so long. How it must have pained you...
Troue: That's right... I can't imagine how hard it was for you to decide to open up to us.
Manamel: Are you all seriously just going to forgive her? I can't believe you're acting like doormats right now!
Fiorito: You're right. I'm going to have to pay for what—
Manamel: To redeem herself, Fiorito should have to spend all day taking care of my needs from now on.
Fiorito: ...
Huh?
Tikoh: Ahaha... I think living with this crew has softened you up a bit more than you expected it to, Manamel.
Manamel: Hmph.
Randall: Anyway, aren't you forgetting something, Fiorito?
Randall: You're planning to quit Navis... But what do you want to do after that?
Fiorito: ...!
Hesitantly, but with great conviction, Fiorito responds to Randall's question.
Fiorito: I... I want to call myself a member of this crew, and be able to mean it this time!
Fiorito: I know I'm being shameless, but that's my answer.
Tikoh: Well I, for one, don't think that's shameless at all.
Tikoh: But unfortunately, the person with the authority to decide who gets to be in the crew seems to be missing.
Kolulu: Indeed! You'll just have to recount your tale to those three once we rescue them!
Troue: And we can all be sure our captain will know the right thing to do!
Feather: We're gonna do this together! Right, Fiorito?
Fiorito: Everyone...
Fiorito: ...
Thank you. I'm going to do everything I can to make this work!
Fiorito shares every bit of information she has about their adversaries.
Their bonds strengthened, the crew members discuss what they need to do to rescue (Captain), Lyria, and Vyrn.
Watching the waves beat on the shore, Nereus waves her staff.
Nereus: O Nereus Staff, mock the absent god.
Nereus: Cancro has moved... So she's laid her sins bare.
Nereus: However, none among those who surround her would rebuff one whom they have called friend for so long.
Nereus: Even more interesting is the direction Vergine has taken.
Nereus: Asterisms... Unlike the rigidly defined constellations, these irregularities have the potential to reshape the night sky.
Nereus: From his actions they will be born. I was right to wake him.
Nereus: I shall keep observing. May the next act of this story remain unpredictable...

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 4: Transit - Episode 2

Locked up in an underground cell, (Captain), Lyria, and Vyrn exchange words with Lavirita. Intrigued by his lack of hostility toward them, they ask about his obsession with money and learn about his wish. Meanwhile, the rest of the crew decides to use Troue's Gift of Visions to track down the Auditors, but discovers Cupitan dead in the infirmary before getting the chance to set out.

The clear, metallic sound of a coin rings out again and again.
(Captain), woken up by the sound, looks through a set of iron bars and finds Lavirita endlessly flipping a coin.
Lavirita: The dull gleam of money... Doesn't it just soothe your heart?
Lavirita: But this innocent light has killed more people than anything else you'll find in these skies.
Looking around, (Captain) sees that Lyria and Vyrn have woken up too and realizes that they're locked up in a dungeon somewhere.
Lavirita: No need to be so on edge. Well, I suppose that's a hard ask.
Lavirita: You see, I simply follow the money. Would you like to hire me to set you free? It'll only cost you one trillion rupies.
Vyrn: We're not Accordants. How's this supposed to help you collect Horoscopes?
Lavirita: The Chairman's plans are a mystery to me—a state of affairs I'm perfectly content with.
  1. ...

Choose: ...
Lavirita: You seem to be wondering why you haven't been disposed of.
Lavirita: Even if the plan was to use you as bait like we did when we kidnapped Miss Kolulu, there shouldn't be any reasons to keep you alive...
Lavirita: They have no intention of killing the observer, I imagine. And perhaps more importantly...
Lavirita thinks for a moment, then smiles slightly.
Lavirita: You must be hungry. I happen to have some very nice bread on me. It's from one of those famous bakeries that people wait in line for hours at, you know?
Lavirita: Come, let's eat together.
Lyria: ...
Lavirita: Not eating?
Lavirita: Oh, don't worry about paying me. It's a business expense, so I'll have them reimbur—
Lyria: Um... I'm sorry, but you are a member of Navis, right?
Lavirita: Excuse me? Yes, I have been given the honor of being named as Auditor Quinto, for what it's worth.
Lyria: It's just that... I don't feel any hostility or any kind of malice coming from you.
Lavirita: Well, of course not. A man who acts only for money is no more malicious than money itself.
Lavirita: Not to deny that I am a villain, of course. It's how I make my money that determines that.
Vyrn: Yeah, didn't you tell Kolulu that you'd let her go for 900 billion rupies too? What's got you itching for money so bad?
Though they initially only hoped that Lavirita would let some important information slip if they engaged him in conversation, the three have begun to take an interest in the mysterious Harvin.
Lavirita: ...
My parents died of sickness when I was a young boy.
Lavirita: It was a common ailment, and there was treatment available. But as their only remaining family member, I needed to earn the money to pay for it by myself, and I failed to do so.
Lavirita: All because I failed to understand my own value. If I had understood the demand for young Harvins, I would have done a much better job pricing myself.
Vyrn: ...
Lavirita: When I became a successful merchant, my peers often asked why I never invested in anything.
Lavirita: But... I don't get anything out of making my money work for me. I want to work for it, to suffer for it.
Lavirita: Only when I let money control me, enslave me, dominate my heart and mind, can I feel like I'm being punished for letting my parents die.
Lavirita: It's still not enough! The more this dull gleam grows, the more solace my punishment brings me.
Lyria: How can you think that? It's not your fault that they di—
Lavirita: Surely you are right. Nevertheless, that is my wish.
Lavirita: It was my fate to receive punishment from Navis, together with this gun.
As he speaks, Lavirita lovingly strokes the Bird Eye's barrel.
Lavirita: Right then... I have answered your questions free of charge, so I suppose it would be only fair for you to do something for me in return.
Lavirita: Ah, but first, please have some bread.
The members of the crew are strategizing in their room.
As they try to figure out how to rescue their friends, Fiorito poses an interesting question.
Fiorito: What's Navis's goal here in the first place?
Troue: Their goal here... You mean their reason for the kidnapping and everything else that's happened on this island?
Fiorito: Yeah. If we can figure that out, we can make some educated guesses at what they've done with (Captain).
Tikoh: I was wondering about that too. At first I assumed it was to keep us from learning more about Horoscopes, but they didn't try to stop us from reaching those ruins.
Manamel: Plus, there's no way we would have all survived the explosion on the ship... or the attack in my sleep if they really wanted to stop us.
Randall: Accordants are valuable assets, right?
Randall: I'm thinking that their plan was for us to survive everything they've done.
Fiorito: Their plan...
Fiorito thinks about Randall's statement for a moment, then comes to a realization.
Fiorito: Of course! Their plan was never to stop us!
Troue: What do you mean?
Fiorito: Think about what all this has resulted in. How all these suspicious happenings have affected us.
Feather: Well... We all started suspecting each other of being a traitor.
Tikoh: Now I get it... Making us lose our trust in each other was Navis's main objective!
Fiorito: Exactly. The main gist of their overall plan is to make Accordants fight each other.
Randall: So they wanted to make us so suspicious of each other that fights break out?
Fiorito: Even if we didn't go that far, they'd have an easier time fighting us if we're divided.
Kolulu: Then that means the kidnapping was for that purpose as well?
Kolulu glances around the room as she thinks and discovers something lying on the floor.
Kolulu: Look, hair from one of the wolves that Auditor commanded.
Fiorito: Right... I bet they were using monsters to get around to stop Troue from tracking them with his Gift of Visions.
Randall: Wait a second! They used the monsters to carry our captain away, but I'm pretty sure the Auditors weren't riding anything when they left!
Troue: Ah, you're right! I might be able to track the traces of their emotions.
Manamel: That's weird though. Why would they leave a track for us to follow?
Randall: Even if it's a trap, we've got to go for it.
Feather: Yeah! If they're lying in wait for us, we'll just have to give them a beatdown!
Tikoh: ...
I have no intention of making the same mistake twice.
Having finished preparing, the group meets in the lobby. Suddenly, Fiorito notices something wrong.
Fiorito: Hold up, where's Cupitan?
Feather: Hm? That's odd, she was with us earlier.
Manamel: She must still be getting ready... or maybe she's feeling sick.
Tikoh: Wait here everyone. We'll go check on her.
Tikoh and Manamel make eye contact and head up the stairs.
Tikoh: Oh? The infirmary door is closed.
Tikoh: I've been keeping it open to make it easy to keep an eye on my patients, so how...
Manamel: ...
I don't like the look of this.
Exchanging a silent signal, the two burst into the room simultaneously.
Tikoh & Manamel: ...!
What awaits them behind the door is a still, cruel scene.
Cupitan: ...
Surrounded by bottles of medicine, Cupitan lies unbreathing, her skin the distinctly pallid color of a corpse.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 4: Exposure - Episode 3

Tikoh rules Cupitan's death a suicide, but the other members of the crew still have trouble processing the news. Deciding that they still have to prioritize their rescue mission, they use Troue's Gift of Visions to pursue the Auditors to the arena. Upon reaching the end of the tracks, Tikoh holds a scalpel up against Troue's throat.

Manamel and Tikoh have returned to the lobby to let the rest of the group know what they found.
Tikoh asks Manamel, Fiorito, and Randall to come with her and bear witness as she examines Cupitan.
Tikoh: ...
No respiration or pulse, and her pupils have dilated.
Tikoh: All these bottles on the floor contain strong sedatives and sleep aids. They're a lot more empty than they should be.
Tikoh: Cause of death is most likely overdose. Considering that the room was locked from the inside when we found her, I have to assume that she took them herself.
Fiorito: No way! So you mean Cupitan's—
Randall: What about the Asclepius Rod? You saved Shannon with that, didn't you?
Tikoh: It's true that this staff can keep the souls of the dead in this world and move them to a new vessel.
Tikoh: On that day, I was stabbed in the heart and died, but my soul was still just barely connected to this world.
Manamel: And that let you add Shannon's soul to your body, right? Then that should work again!
Tikoh: ...
It won't. I'm not finding any trace of her soul here.
Randall: Why? We were talking with her just a bit ago. It can't have been long since she died!
Tikoh: You're not wrong. Her jaw hasn't even been affected by rigor mortis yet.
Tikoh: But... it doesn't change the fact that the Asclepius Rod isn't responding to anything.
Tikoh: It pains me to say it, but...
With a grim countenance, Tikoh closes Cupitan's eyes and shakes her head weakly.
The Three: ...
After Tikoh gives her report, the crew members have trouble processing what they've heard.
Feather: ...
Was it really suicide? Isn't it possible the traitor did this?
Troue: Th-that's right! I should use my Gift of Visions to—
Tikoh: Don't push yourself. Nobody should subject themselves to reliving the death of a friend.
Manamel: ...
Randall: Damn it! Why did this happen...
The crew members stand silent for a while. Eventually, they lift their heads.
Fiorito: ...
We have to keep going.
Manamel: ...
That's right. (Captain), Lyria, and Vyrn are waiting for us.
Tikoh: The time to mourn will come later. Let's track down those kidnappers.
Though still shocked by Cupitan's sudden death, the crew tells the owner what happened before promptly leaving the inn.
Using Troue's Gift of Visions, they follow the Auditors' tracks.
Feather: Isn't this the way to...
Randall: The arena, huh? That's where the concert we went to was held.
Manamel: It wasn't booked for anything after Lodi's performance, so it might be empty.
The group sneaks into the stands and surveys the arena for anything suspicious.
Kolulu: Hmm... It seems to be deserted.
Troue: The trail ends here. They must have done something to—
Tikoh: ...!
Troue: Tikoh?
Before anyone has a chance to react to Tikoh's sudden movement, she has a scalpel held up against Troue's throat.
Randall: Tikoh! What the hell do you think you're—
Tikoh: Nobody move!
Tikoh shouts at the group, and then turns to speak to Troue.
Tikoh: Thanks for showing us the way.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 4: Exposure - Episode 4

Tikoh and Manamel accuse Troue of being the traitor. Recounting all of the strange events that had occurred ever since the crew neared the island, they deduce that the key to the mystery is an object capable of transforming into different things and people, which they label as the "Thing." Furthermore, Tikoh asserts that Cupitan was replaced by the Thing after returning from the ruins, meaning that the real Cupitan is still alive.

The tip of Tikoh's scalpel hovers a hair's breadth from Troue's neck.
Everyone else stands frozen, shocked by the sudden turn of events.
Troue: Tikoh! So you're the—
Tikoh: Nope.
Tikoh: There is a traitor here, yes. An agent of Navis who schemed for us to end up at this point...
Tikoh: That's you, Troue!
Troue: ...!
Feather: Whoa, hold up! I think you need to calm down, Tikoh!
Feather: Troue was attacked after the concert! He's a victim, isn't he?
Randall: Yeah! Are you saying he faked that or something?
Tikoh: Exactly.
Fiorito: But he was stabbed in the back!
Fiorito: How could he have stabbed himself in the back? Plus there were people who saw when blood started spurting out!
Manamel: Just give her a bit, okay? Tikoh'll explain everything.
Troue: Manamel? You're suspecting me too?
Kolulu: ...
You two had best have evidence to back up your words.
Kolulu: If your accusation's no more than a half-hearted guess, you'll have me to answer to.
As Kolulu stares her down, Tikoh nods and begins to speak.
Tikoh: The explosion on the airship, the incident where Troue was stabbed after the concert, and the night that Manamel was attacked in her sleep...
Tikoh: Common to all three events was that nobody saw the culprit and we couldn't detect any emotions.
Tikoh: Since we couldn't use Troue's Gift of Visions to determine what happened, we were forced to live in fear of a traitor, harming our unity.
Kolulu: Indeed. And as we've surmised, that was the traitor's goal.
Tikoh: But if that's the case, don't some things not make sense?
Troue: Like... what?
Tikoh: If the traitor wants us to suspect each other, then it would be best to commit crimes that any of us could have been responsible for.
Feather: Isn't that exactly what happened? The culprit knew about the Gift of Visions, and figured out a way to...
Tikoh: A way to commit crimes without leaving traces of emotion, and without being seen.
Tikoh: Something that two people in our crew have the power to do easily.
Fiorito: ...
Manamel and Cupitan.
Fiorito: Manamel could have used Vegalta to do everything without leaving any emotions or risk herself being seen.
Randall: And Cupitan's Rainbow Bow should be able to deal with any traces of emotion, and even manipulate people into committing the crimes for her.
Randall: The thought had occurred to me, if I'm being honest. But there was no proof, so I didn't want to say anything.
Tikoh: That was the right call. Kicking off the finger-pointing would have been playing right into the traitor's hands.
Feather: Hm? But then that means someone could have brought it up at any moment...
Tikoh: Exactly. And then Manamel and Cupitan would have been the only ones under suspicion.
Troue: I'm not sure I'm following... So the traitor's plan wasn't fully thought out?
Tikoh: More like something happened that the traitor didn't expect.
Tikoh lowers her scalpel, but keeps her eyes glued on Troue.
Tikoh: When Manamel was attacked, I thought something seemed off.
Tikoh: That was the only incident that took place when everyone was nearby.
Randall: That is odd, now that you mention it. You've gotta imagine that there'd be a huge risk of being seen.
Tikoh: But think about it this way. What if something being seen was an opportunity, not a risk?
Kolulu: The traitor wished to show us something? But what?
Tikoh: ...
Everything I've said so far is only speculation. I couldn't figure out anything else for sure.
Tikoh: But then, I got a chance to talk to Manamel.
Manamel: Tikoh, got a sec?
Tikoh: ...?
Manamel: I have something I want to say. Can we talk with just the two of us?
Tikoh: ...!
As the rest of the crew is reeling from the shock of the kidnapping, Manamel takes Tikoh somewhere secluded to speak without being heard by anyone else.
Manamel: The truth is, when I was attacked...
Suspicious Shadow: ...!
Manamel: The person who attacked me was clearly you.
Tikoh: ...!
Tikoh: That's ridiculous! I would never—
Tikoh: Hm? Wait a minute.
Tikoh: If you saw me, why didn't you say so when the lights came on?
Tikoh: More importantly, why keep it a secret from everyone this whole time?
Manamel: ...
Something didn't seem right.
Manamel: So I kept quiet to trick the real traitor.
Tikoh: ...!
Manamel: I, or rather Vega, managed to cut my attacker's arm.
Manamel: But when the lights came on, you were unharmed.
Tikoh: ...
Manamel: At first, I thought you might have used the Asclepius Rod to heal yourself.
Manamel: But then... I saw there was no bloodstains.
Tikoh: The blood disappeared?
Manamel: No, I think there never was any in the first place.
Manamel: It was dark so I couldn't see anything, but I didn't smell any blood, and Vega thought something felt weird too.
Manamel: So I... Um...
Tikoh: Hm? What are you hesitating for?
Manamel: Well, you know. This is a bit of an odd request, but...
Manamel: ...
And then I had Vega cut Tikoh's arm.
Fiorito: Wha! Why would you do that?
Tikoh: I gave her permission, and used magic to numb the pain. It was only a little cut.
Tikoh: We wanted to have Vegalta check something.
Troue: What was it... that you wanted to check?
Manamel: The proof that the "Tikoh" I saw was a fake, of course.
Feather: ...!
Tikoh: From my point of view, it was the obvious thing to do.
Vegalta: ...!
Manamel: According to Vega, cutting Tikoh today felt completely different from how it felt that night.
Manamel: The difference, of course, was the presence of blood. The "Tikoh" Vega cut felt like a lump of meat.
Randall: So what, you're saying that someone transformed into Tikoh and attacked Manamel or something?
Tikoh: Thinking about it logically, it has to be something like that.
Troue: ...
I'm sorry, I'm afraid that I'm having trouble keeping up.
Troue: Why did the traitor transform again?
Tikoh: Like I said earlier, it was to have Manamel witness a fake me attacking her.
Tikoh: What would have happened if Manamel had told everyone that I was the culprit?
Feather: Um... Manamel seems suspicious because of her ability, so...
Randall: I get it... Tikoh would have accused Manamel of being the real traitor and split the crew into two!
Tikoh: Exactly. But Manamel kept her mouth shut, so that never happened.
Fiorito: Wait a second...
Fiorito: Even if the traitor transformed into someone, that wouldn't prevent emotions from being left behind, would it?
Manamel: That's the question of the hour.
Manamel: A figure that leaves no traces of emotions and doesn't bleed...
Manamel: What if it wasn't a person, but an object that transformed?
Kolulu: An object that transforms? And moves around of its own will like Vega to boot?
Fiorito: An object wouldn't have any emotions to leave behind, plus that would explain how the culprit always vanishes without a trace.
Randall: Actually, hold up! If something like that exists, then...
Tikoh: It would explain how all of the incidents since we came here occurred... This also means that any one of us could be responsible for them.
Manamel: The traitor could have it transform into a passenger on the airship, a random passerby after the concert, and then Tikoh in the inn.
Troue: But this is all speculation, isn't it? Does such an object actually exist?
Tikoh: A fair point. I had my doubts myself.
Tikoh: But then my friend... gave me all the proof I needed.
Kolulu: Your friend?
Tikoh: Cupitan.
Tikoh: After we came back from the ruins, this transforming object— the "Thing" if you will—took Cupitan's place.
Randall: Ho-hold up! That means...
Tikoh: The real Cupitan is still alive.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 4: Exposure - Episode 5

Tikoh alleges that the Thing is most likely Durandal. She additionally points out something Troue said which indicates that he's not losing his memories every night, suggesting that his hidden, original personality might be retaining them. Troue declares all of Tikoh's deductions to be right, and suddenly Ferdinand, Ragazzo, Lavirita, and Lodi appear on the arena's stage. Ferdinand greets Troue, calling him "Auditor Nulla, Felix."

Tikoh and Manamel present their deductions, hypothesizing that there exists an object that can transform into different people.
Now, they've asserted that the key to proving that this "Thing" exists lies with Cupitan, whom everyone thought had committed suicide.
Kolulu: Cupitan's alive? Are you certain of that?
Tikoh: There's no doubt in my mind.
Tikoh: Since she collapsed at the ruins and was moved to the infirmary, she began to behave erratically.
Fiorito: I mean, I don't really want to be the one to say it, but... we all saw that coming, didn't we?
Tikoh: Well, I won't deny that, but that's not the kind of "erratically" I'm talking about.
Tikoh: She behaved like a well-made doll. That was my impression of her as her friend, but there were very specific things that seemed off too.
Tikoh: Her use of the Rainbow Bow, for example.
Cupitan: The color of your hearts... It's turning into a dull gray, like the color of a murky river. If we keep this up, we'll eventually break...
Cupitan: Wait, she's not lying! Her emotions are a pure milky-white!
Tikoh: Cupitan had resolved not to look at her friends' emotions.
Tikoh: Even if she was becoming unstable, I can't imagine that she would have gone back on that so easily.
Tikoh: And when Fiorito went off on her own, Cupitan defended her, which could have been an attempt to stir up distrust.
Tikoh: The fact that I couldn't detect her soul near the corpse didn't sit right with me either.
Tikoh: Just like the problem of emotions not being left anywhere, that mystery would be solved by the existence of the Thing.
Troue: ...
Manamel: From those facts, we deduced that Cupitan was replaced after returning from the ruins.
Feather: So, are you saying that faking Cupitan's suicide was supposed to somehow make us fight each other?
Tikoh: Well, we were originally supposed to end up thinking it was a murder, not a suicide...
Tikoh: But the real reason that Navis went to the trouble of arranging for Cupitan to have a mental breakdown in order to swap her out with a fake must be because they need the real one for something.
Tikoh: They have some other plan in mind for her, which means she must be alive somewhere.
After explaining the circumstances surrounding Cupitan's behavior, the existence of the Thing has started looking like a real possibility. However, an important question is still unanswered.
Kolulu: You've made your point about this Thing, but...
Kolulu: For what reason are you naming Troue the traitor? I still don't see your justification for that.
Troue: Th-that's right! What proof do you have?
Tikoh: ...
Tikoh: ...
Since the Thing has been transforming near us, it has to be something that we wouldn't be surprised to see.
Tikoh: Moreover, anything that seems to be missing whenever something happens is especially suspicious.
Tikoh: There's only one item I can think of that fits that bill.
Tikoh: Troue's Horoscope, Durandal.
The Crew: ...
Tikoh: I believe that Durandal's ability is transformation.
Kolulu: Wh-what? Why would—
Manamel: Think back on what's happened.
Manamel: When we were on that airship and the engine room blew up...
Manamel: When I was attacked in my sleep...
Manamel: And ever since Cupitan returned from the ruins, up until us leaving the inn just now...
Manamel: Troue was never holding Durandal.
Manamel: Naturally, that would mean that when Troue was stabbed in the back, the culprit disappeared because it returned to his hand.
Troue: Wh-what? How could you accuse me just because I left my sword behind?
Kolulu: The two of us decided that we would put our weapons away because we were scared of them!
Tikoh: Which one of you suggested that? Did you actually see him putting it away, Kolulu?
Kolulu: W-well...
Fiorito: Durandal is essential to the process of having Troue recover his memories every morning, isn't it?
Fiorito: If it were me, I'd never be willing to give it up.
Randall: Troue's always been good at imitating things from memories, right? Is that another part of Durandal's ability?
Troue: N-no! I don't know anything about any abilities!
Tikoh: ...
His Gift of Visions was always vital to our actions.
Tikoh: It was what led us to this island, and it came into play every time something happened.
Kolulu: That's only natural! It's a convenient power!
Kolulu: Moreover, what need would there be for all this trickery if Troue was the traitor?
Kolulu: He could simply lie about what his Gift of Visions showed him! That would be much more—
Feather: No, his power also includes the ability to share what he sees with us.
Feather: The second someone asked him to show them what he saw, the jig would be up.
Kolulu: But, but... There's no solid proof of all this! Is there?
Manamel: ...
If only I had found Durandal wherever it had hidden itself right after I was attacked.
Tikoh: True, this is all circumstantial. I don't have any hard proof right here and now.
Kolulu: Then—
Tikoh: But I imagine that would change quickly if we went back to the inn.
Tikoh: As you can see, Troue's holding Durandal in his hand right now.
Tikoh: That means that if I'm right, Cupitan's body should be gone.
Troue: ...!
Tikoh: I imagine that this is the final stage of his plan.
Tikoh: There's no need for him to worry about keeping up the facade after we get back.
Troue: B-but, I really don't remember anything!
Kolulu: Right, there's that too! How could someone who wakes every morning with no memories enact such a grand plan?
Tikoh: ...
Have you forgotten already? There was another person with us who claimed to have amnesia.
Fiorito: Ragazzo? You can't mean—
Tikoh: If Troue hasn't, in fact, been losing his memory... there's no reason he can't be responsible.
Troue: You think I'm pretending to lose my memories? That's impossible!
Tikoh: Think back again to the morning after Manamel was attacked.
Tikoh: The fact that he said "this time either" means that he was aware of what happened the previous day on the airship.
Tikoh: Despite the fact that he had supposedly already suffered his daily amnesia and didn't even remember his friends. Doesn't that seem odd?
Troue: I don't have my memories of that incident at the moment, but couldn't I have regained my memories of the previous incident from touching Durandal?
Tikoh: You could have, if you had been holding it.
Tikoh: ...
You think back too, Kolulu. You've been with him the most, so you should have noticed something too.
Kolulu: ...
Troue: We're outside to refresh ourselves... Let's not spoil it. Look, there's a stall for briny-bites! How about we get some?
Troue: Come on! Some fluffy, chewy bites will be sure to blow our gloomy mood away!
Troue: Let's leave the competition for board games! That'd be much more fun!
Kolulu: I did think it odd that he seemed to recognize briny-bites and remember that we played a board game...
Randall: Come to think of it... He didn't have his sword back then either!
Troue: I had been with Kolulu a lot, so I just happened to pick those memories back up!
Feather: Hmm... I can't really imagine that Troue's been faking losing his memories every day...
Fiorito: Me too... I mean, I remember when...
Troue: Can you see anything, Cupitan? Um... I know you might not feel comfortable with the idea, but there might be someone harboring bad emotions...
Cupitan: ...
I'm sorry. I already decided I won't look at the color of my friends' emotions.
Fiorito: If he had been trying to trick us, he wouldn't have suggested that.
Tikoh: This is getting into some heavy speculation, but...
Tikoh: What if Troue really does lose his memories, but he has a second, hidden personality that retains them?
Tikoh: Normally Troue doesn't know anything, but this second personality can surface and control at any time. That way we'd never guess that he was tricking us from his everyday behavior.
Troue: ...
Kolulu: Troue... Why aren't you telling her she's mistaken?
Kolulu: Say it's all conjecture! That you can't be the traitor!
Troue: ...
Kolulu: Troue!
Troue: ...
I'm sorry, Kolulu.
Kolulu: ...!
Troue: I suspected this might happen as soon as Tikoh prevented me from using my Gift of Visions on Cupitan's body.
Troue: I wanted to make something up and sow a bit more distrust, but I backed off once I realized that she might be onto me.
Kolulu: Wha... What are you saying?
Troue: ...
It's all right. I was planning on revealing the truth here anyway.
Troue: Ah, but what a shame... I was hoping to create much more chaos and then dramatically reveal my true colors in the middle of a fight.
Tikoh: Troue! So you really are—
Troue: I'm so, so sorry!
Troue: It's all as you say. Your deductions concerning both Durandal's ability and my memories are all correct.
Troue: Sniff... I'm so unused to coming to the surface that I slipped up.
Manamel: Why are you crying? We're the ones in shock.
Troue: Well, you're all such good people.
As the rest of the crew is confused by Troue's unexpected reaction, Feather takes a step forward.
Feather: Where've you taken our friends? And where's Cupitan right now?
Troue: Who knows? But I can assure you they're being treated well.
Troue: Cupitan in particular surely has no complaints, considering that her wish is being granted.
Tikoh: Her wish?
Troue: You might get the same opportunity, Tikoh.
Troue: That's why you kept quiet until I brought you here, isn't it?
Tikoh: I knew it. He's here then?
Randall: Tikoh? What're you talking about?
Tikoh: ...
Don't misunderstand. I definitely want to find (Captain)—that's why I followed him all this way.
Tikoh: But there's something else I was hoping for too, a wish from the bottom of my heart.
???: You wanted to meet me?
Tikoh: ...!
Suddenly, the smoke machines installed for use during concerts activate, obscuring the stage from view.
The smoke clears to reveal four figures the crew are familiar with, standing on the stage.
Ferdinand: Long time no see. I'm happy to be able to meet you all again.
Tikoh: Ferdinand!
Randall: Navis! Is this why he brought us here?
Ferdinand: Considering your violent tendencies, I had anticipated a fight breaking out as soon as I showed up, so I was hoping to split your group up a bit first.
Ferdinand: But I give up! Your determination to not profane your love for your family has moved me! Bravo!
Fiorito: ...
Ferdinand: Ah, hello, Fiorito. Don't worry, I won't hold your decision against you.
Ferdinand: Oh, and welcome back, Troue.
Ferdinand: Or rather... Auditor Nulla, Felix.
Despite having finally identified the traitor...
The crew now find themselves facing the members of Navis once more, giving them no time to confront the one who betrayed them.
Troue—now Felix—wipes his tears away as he waves to Ferdinand.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 5: Retrograde - Episode 1

At the same time that fighting breaks out at the arena, Cupitan is walking through the forest alone. After she had passed out in the ruins and was taken to the infirmary, she had met Troue after waking up, or rather Troue's original personality, Felix. Felix invites her to meet Tristette alone, and uses his Gift of Visions to show her a memory that resides in the Rainbow Bow.

As the battle begins in the arena, a lone figure is slowly walking through Ovuque Island's southern forest.
Cupitan: ...
Cupitan: ...
I suppose I'll never see (Captain) and the rest of the crew again.
Cupitan: Even so, I...
Last evening, when Cupitan was in the infirmary after collapsing at the ruins, she heard footsteps approaching her.
Cupitan: Oh, Ti? I just woke—
Tikoh: ...
Felix: Good morning. I've come to check up on you.
Cupitan: Huh? Troue? I could have sworn I just saw Ti.
Felix: Ah, yes, well... I wanted to speak with you alone, so I used Durandal to arrange that.
Felix: Tikoh thinks her friends are here, and everyone else thinks Tikoh is here.
Cupitan: ...?
Cupitan: Um, I thought you were going to look for Lodi with Manamel and Kolulu.
Felix: I did, and we found him. He sang a song for us!
Felix: Thanks to that, the other two are quite satisfied right now. Enough so that they won't notice my absence.
Cupitan: ...!
Cupitan: Pure yellow, indicating hope... It's definitely you, but something seems off.
Felix: ...
The personality that you call Troue is like the hole in a donut.
Felix: Empty and without form—an ephemeral being that disappears in a day.
Felix: But that's only true for the hole. Memories and experiences are properly accumulated and stored in the donut that surrounds it.
Felix: Troue never realized, but I—his original personality, Felix—have been living in his heart the whole time.
Felix: I possess all of the memories that he has accumulated and lost.
Felix: Needless to say, Troue still knows nothing of Durandal's power, unlike me.
Cupitan: Felix? His original?
Cupitan: Troue lost his memories two years ago... So you're him before that happened?
Felix: ...
I think it's time to get down to business.
Felix: Would you like the chance to meet Tristette alone?
Cupitan: ...!
Felix: I'm sure you do. That's your greatest wish right now, after all.
Felix: However, if you follow me, you'll never be able to see the people from this crew again.
Felix: Are you all right with that?
Cupitan: ...
Cupitan: ...
Yes.
Felix: Haha, I'm happy to hear it.
Felix: As a final favor to you as your crewmate, I'll give you a glimpse into some of your memories.
Cupitan: My memories?
Felix: Ever since you came to this island, the seal you placed on your memories has been coming undone, hasn't it?
Cupitan: Those memories... That really happened here?
Felix: Even if you two have forgotten about it, the Rainbow Bow remembers everything.
Troue picks up the Rainbow Bow and puts his other hand on Cupitan's hand.
Felix: Now then, pleasant dreams.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 5: Retrograde - Episode 2

Cupitan and Tristette had visited Ovuque Island in their childhood, back when they were still running from Navis. One day, one of their pursuers tracks them down to where they're hiding in the forest, but they turn the tables on him and take his life. Cupitan says that she'll carry the burden of this crime with Tristette, but Tristette stabs Cupitan with her own Prism Arrows in order to erase Cupitan's memory of the event. Having learned the truth about their parting, Cupitan finally meets Tristette in the southern forest.

This is the memory of two young girls who burned too brightly with their warped passions.
Young Tristette: Whew. Now that we've come to such a remote island, we shouldn't have to worry about them coming after us anymore.
Young Cupitan: Yeah! This seems like a nice place for us to live!
Young Tristette: That's not what I meant... Gosh, you're so stupid!
Felix: You remember this, right? You were living life on the run from Navis.
Cupitan: Yes. So it was Ovuque Island that we came to back then.
Young Cupitan: Look, Ris! The people from the village were so kind. They gave me all this bread!
Cupitan: I remember now... This is how I would get bread for Ris and me to eat.
Cupitan: I... I stabbed myself with Prism Arrows here too, didn't I?
Cupitan: To seal away the painful memories... To rid my story of all the parts I didn't like...
Felix: ...
The two girls manage to live undisturbed in the forest for some time, until one day an agent of Navis appears before them.
They flee, but are unable to lose their pursuer.
Young Cupitan: Huff... Huff...
Young Tristette: Tch! This guy's so persistent!
Young Tristette: This is going nowhere. Change of plans, Cupitan!
Young Cupitan: Ris? What are we going to do?
Young Tristette: Fight him!
Young Tristette: You shoot as many colorless arrows as you can! I'll use monsters to attack him!
Young Cupitan: Okay!
The two girls cease their flight and turn on their pursuer.
After a long, intense battle, the man is weakened by the colorless arrows and forced to the ground, leaving him vulnerable to his prey's knives.
Young Tristette: Waaah!
Young Cupitan: Aaaah!
Cupitan: Is this what I saw in that dream?
Cupitan: Did I erase this too?
After burying the man, they collapse exhausted to the ground.
Young Tristette: ...
But this can't go on.
Young Cupitan: Huh?
Tristette stabs Cupitan with one of her own Prism Arrows that was covered in blood and mud.
Young Tristette: My monsters gathered a whole lot of these. This should be enough to do the job.
Young Cupitan: Ris? But... why?
Young Tristette: Like hell I'm going to carry this stupid burden with you.
Young Tristette: I'll carry it by myself. You just forget about everything.
Young Cupitan: Why... We're supposed to be together forever...
Young Tristette: You're my hope. My light. My salvation. My messenger from heaven.
Young Tristette: You're my first friend, aren't you?
Young Tristette: So I don't want you dirtying your immaculate face.
Young Cupitan: ...
Tristette carefully stabs all of the Prism Arrows she collected into Cupitan, as if to make a wish with each one.
Young Tristette: You were so bright that it drove me crazy.
Young Tristette: I want to see you smile... I want to see you get hurt... I hate you and I love you so much...
Young Tristette: That's why I can't stay with you anymore.
Young Tristette: Thank you. I'm sorry.
Young Cupitan: Hm?
Young Tristette: Oh, you awake?
Young Cupitan: Good morning, Ris... Your bedhead always looks so cute.
Young Tristette: ...
Stop being stupid and get up already.
Young Cupitan: Ehehe... It sure has been peaceful lately.
Young Tristette: Yeah, sure has. Doesn't seem like anyone's coming after us today either.
It was only a few days later that Tristette disappeared, leaving nothing but a letter behind.
As Cupitan walks through the forest, she keeps a tight grip on the Rainbow Bow and continuously surveys her surroundings.
Cupitan: Ris... I can't believe that you were the one who erased my memories of that time.
Cupitan stops walking and remembers what Felix told her.
Felix: At the time I designated, start heading for this location.
Felix: Tristette will be waiting there. Whatever you do then is your business, not mine.
Cupitan: ...
???: ...
Yo.
Tristette: Who do you think you are to keep me waiting? You're the stupidest stupid in the whole world, and don't forget it.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 5: Retrograde - Episode 3

Fighting has broken out in the arena. Ragazzo defends Ferdinand from Feather, Randall, and Tikoh. Kolulu faces off against Felix, who shows her a memory of the fire that burned down her home island and killed her parents which reveals that it was one of Navis's Chairmen who started it. Lodi then uses Parashu's ability to amplify her hatred, and as the lust for revenge awakens in her she is engulfed in an ominous light emitted from Gisla.

Fighting has broken out after Ferdinand and his Auditors appeared in the arena.
The crew hopes to split up the Auditors while Navis wants for certain sets of people to fight each other, leading to both sides taking oddly compatible strategies.
In the stands, Manamel fights Lodi while Kolulu and Felix clash nearby.
Meanwhile, Fiorito and Lavirita face off in the seating area along the venue's edges.
Finally, Tikoh, Feather, and Randall have made their way to the stage to confront Ferdinand and Ragazzo.
Feather: Ferdinand! What have you done with (Captain)!
Ferdinand: Ah, you don't need to worry. Those three are very important to us too.
Ferdinand: They're perfectly safe underground somewhere on this island, probably eating some excellent bread or—
Tikoh: Hah!
Tikoh throws a scalpel straight at Ferdinand's throat, but Ragazzo steps in and deflects it.
Ragazzo: Haa...
Ferdinand: Phew. Thank you, Ragazzo. I think I almost died there.
Ferdinand: As for you, Shannon... How could you do such a thing to Papa?
Tikoh: Looks like I was right to gamble on you showing up.
Tikoh: The way you lured us to the island and the kidnapping made it seem like you were deliberately recreating the events of Stella Island.
Tikoh: So it only made sense that you would show up in person again too.
Ferdinand: The Auditors are all part of my precious family, after all. I'd be a failure of a father if I just stayed at home waiting to hear how it went.
Randall: Don't be absurd! You cut Ragazzo's—
Ferdinand: Let me assure you, that hurt me just as much as it hurt him. I only did it because I had no choice.
Ferdinand: And miraculously, my love got through to him and he returned to my side!
Ferdinand smiles and tenderly wraps his arm around Ragazzo's shoulders.
Ferdinand: He invited me for the first time today. He said we should attend this "concert" as father and son, just the two of us.
Ragazzo: Yeah, leave it to me. You just pull up a seat and enjoy the show, Ferdinand.
Ragazzo: Hah!
Feather: Guah!
Randall: Damn it!
Ragazzo: Ahaha! Thanks, Feather! Randall!
Randall: Was that all an act too?
Ragazzo: You think this is the time to spout that wimpy nonsense? Don't blame me if it ends up being your last words!
Randall: Ugh!
Tikoh: Ugh... Did he anticipate the fact that we would hesitate?
Feather: Don't think we'll just keep dancing to your tune forever, Ferdinand!
Randall: Sorry to ruin your fun, but we don't need to rely on our Horoscopes!
Ragazzo: ...
Are you guys idiots?
Feather: Huh? The Lion Khan Claw just came back to me?
Randall: Damn it... It's almost as if they really are curses!
Ferdinand: Oh no, they're most certainly blessings. You were the ones who decided to wish on a star, weren't you?
Ferdinand: Congratulations. I hope you get everything you wanted out of them.
Fiorito: Sphairai... I devote my entire being. Let my spirit bloom!
Lavirita: Oho!
Fiorito: Read me like an open book, huh? I'd expect no less from you.
Lavirita: I wouldn't want to take a direct attack to my spirit after all. Rest assured, dodging that wasn't easy.
Fiorito: Is this the first time we've fought since we first met in that forest?
Lavirita: That sure takes me back. You refused to hand over Sphairai and then asked to join Navis...
Lavirita: Not killing you that day was an error on my part.
Fiorito: ...
No doubt. Why didn't you?
Lavirita: What a foolish question. Because I thought that would be more profitable, of cou—
Fiorito: ...!
Lavirita: Whoa! Looks like I can't let my guard down for even a moment around you.
Fiorito: You're the one who taught me how someone from the underworld should fight.
Lavirita: Haha, a fair point.
Manamel: It came back to me as soon as I saw your tattoos.
Lodi: Oh?
Manamel: Just one time, my parents took me to an Aquatic Acolytes gathering.
Manamel: You were there, singing in front of the congregation.
Manamel: Your song moved my heart, but that's all I remember.
Lodi: Chemistry! What better praise could an idol ask for?
Manamel: I'm looking for my sister-boo. She was a priestess for the Aquatic Acolytes.
Manamel: You know something about her, don't you? How about you make this easy and tell me.
Lodi: I tell only bedtime stories. How about I let you hear one to a nice tune?
Lodi: O Parashu! Forge yourself into an axe to sever my ego!
Lodi: Song for the World!
Parashu glows in response to Lodi's words, and he begins to sing passionately.
Manamel: Vega!
Vegalta: ...!
Lodi: What? My song isn't working?
Lodi jumps out of the path of the incoming dagger and spots something strange in Manamel's drooping ears.
Lodi: What kind of fan comes to meet their idol wearing earplugs! And more importantly, weren't you asking me something?
Manamel: I have no idea what you're saying, but I'm not stupid enough to think that it's an answer to my question! I'll let you tell me all about that once I beat you!
Vegalta: ...!
Flying freely through the air, Vegalta accelerates toward Lodi's face.
Vegalta: ...
Manamel: Vega?
Lodi: Whew. What a rambunctious princess.
Lodi: My song is for the whole world. If I recognize them as princesses, even objects are subject to its thrall.
Lodi: And I can do this too!
Lodi: We rewrote the crystal map of the future
With our grand dream—
Vegalta: ...!
Manamel: ...!
As if responding to Lodi's song, Vegalta barrels toward Manamel.
Unable to dodge, she watches helplessly as the blade closes in on her.
Kolulu: Are you unharmed, Manamel?
Manamel: Kolulu! You're a lifesaver!
Felix: Don't forget who your opponent is, Kolulu!
Felix's Durandal and Kolulu's Gisla clash. Their wielders find themselves in a standstill.
Kolulu: Please, return to your true self, Troue... Your usual kind self!
Felix: But I have returned to my true self. I was a black piece the whole time!
Kolulu: No! I don't want us to fight!
Felix: ...
Do you think that I do?
Kolulu: Huh?
Felix spins around, suddenly grabbing at Gisla with one hand while placing the other on Kolulu's shoulder.
Felix: ...
Enjoy your dreams.
Kolulu: ...!
Kolulu: The scrap mountain is burning...
Elderly Mother: Kolulu! Snap out of it! You need to run!
Elderly Father: Eergh! Gotta find a way to put it out!
Felix: Your home burned down in a great fire. Quite the tragedy, wasn't it?
Kolulu: What are you doing? You need to get on too so we can all get out of here.
Elderly Mother: We'll be fine.
Kolulu: What are you talking about! How are you going to be fine!
Elderly Father: Kolulu, may you experience ample happiness for the three of us.
Felix: This fire robbed you of your parents and drove you from your home.
Eerie Man: ...
Kolulu: ...!
Who's that man?
Felix: That's one of Navis's Chairmen. My direct supervisor, actually.
Felix: He's also the one who started this fire. The one who killed your loved ones.
Kolulu: What!
Felix: Ahaha! The idea that there could be someone responsible for that fire never occurred to you, did it?
Felix: But there is. Navis is behind your parents' death.
Kolulu: ...!
Felix: Maybe you thought this fight never really had anything to do with you up until now.
Felix: But make no mistake. We are your enemy, the target of your revenge.
Felix: Feeling less apathetic now? Ready to come at me for real yet?
Kolulu: ...
Felix: Gisla is a spear of rage, destined to be wielded by those who seek revenge.
Felix: Though you're incredibly kind at heart, with this, the seed has sprouted.
Lodi: Gotta love that chemistry, huh?
Manamel: ...!
Kolulu, cover your—
Lodi: Follow the story of the shining star—
Kolulu: U-urgh!
Kolulu: Mother... Father... How dare you...
Manamel: Huh? What's happening?
Lodi: I transformed the seed of hatred in Kolulu's soul into discontentment.
Lodi: Just like how everyone uses the bathroom, any heart, no matter how pure, can be driven to lust for vengeance.
Lodi: Well, us idols never go to the toilet, so I'm an exception!
Kolulu: Aaahh!
Kolulu screams like a wild beast, and a sinister light rising from Gisla rushes to cover her whole body.
Felix: ...
Felix merely looks on, the light reflecting off of his expressionless face.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 5: Retrograde - Episode 4

Kolulu has finally accorded with Gisla. Meanwhile, Feather, Randall, and Tikoh execute their plan to slip past Ragazzo and attack Ferdinand. Just as it seemed like Tikoh's strike would reach him, Ferdinand uses Taming Sari as a shield and blocks her. Having left herself vulnerable, Tikoh eats a terrible counterattack.

Kolulu: Grrrrr!
Lodi: Whew... Looks like she finally became accordant with it.
Manamel: ...?
Felix: Her natal chart was always adequate, but up until now she merely possessed Gisla.
Felix: So we hit her with the betrayal of a friend, the revelation of a dark truth, and a little bit of encouragement from Parashu.
Felix: To think that it took this much effort to make it work... I was starting to doubt that she was really Capricorno.
Lodi: Never doubt the producer, that's what I always say! Here, I'll make sure it doesn't come undone.
Kolulu: Aaaahhh!
Leaving Lodi to deal with Kolulu, Felix stretches and begins to relax.
Felix: Whew, finally I can breathe easy for a moment.
Felix: Whoa!
Manamel: Troue!
Manamel: How... How dare you! How dare you spit on Kolulu's kindheartedness like this?
Manamel: I'm not letting you get away with this!
As the fighting continues throughout the arena, Feather and Randall are concerned about the persistence of their Horoscopes.
Feather: I hate that I'm playing into his hand, but these really do feel just right.
Feather: All right. I'll be relying on you for now, Lion Khan Claw!
Randall: ...
Guess it can't be helped.
Ragazzo: That's what I like to hear. Now come at me with everything!
Feather & Randall: Raaaah!
Tikoh: Ragazzo's fighting them both off without Crimson Finger?
Tikoh: How about this though?
Ragazzo: Tch... Healing magic!
Randall: Sorry, Ragazzo, but we're ready to pull out all the stops to beat you!
Feather & Randall: ...!
Ferdinand: Did you think I would just stand here as my son gets teamed up on?
Ferdinand: Heads up!
Ferdinand starts throwing daggers from behind Ragazzo.
Feather: He's using Ragazzo as cover!
Randall: Tch... If you're going to fight, step up and do it by his side!
Ferdinand: As my boy's having his big moment? It's boorish for the father to try to stand in the spotlight in times like this, you know?
Ferdinand: Hah!
Tikoh: He keeps throwing those daggers! Is he ever going to run out?
Randall: It's like he's pulling them from out of nowhere! Is that his ability?
Ferdinand: Haha. This is Taming Sari, my Horoscope and the greatest patron of my noble wish.
Feather: Screw you! There isn't a noble bone in your body!
Ferdinand: ...
Ferdinand: ...
What else am I supposed to do? There's a very good reason this is all necessary.
Randall: What?
Casting his eyes down, Ferdinand begins to speak.
Ferdinand: ...
My parents left me in front of an orphanage right after I was born.
Ferdinand: I was always alone. I had no real family. That's why I wanted to know what genuine love felt like.
Feather: ...
Ferdinand: Wait, that's not it.
Tikoh: ...
What?
Ferdinand: No, right, my family was poor. And then my parents died when I was still young, so I had to survive on my...
Ferdinand: Hm? No, that's not it either. My parents were excessively high-strung and abused me every day, I think?
Ferdinand: Hmm... Which background would be best at gaining your sympathy?
Randall: Why you! How rotten can you be?
As Ferdinand stands lost in thought, Feather and Randall clench their fists in anger.
The Three: ...!
Tikoh: (Feather! Randall! If we're going to do it, now's the time!)
Feather: (Yeah, you're right!)
Before they arrived at this island, Tikoh had gone to visit Feather and Randall as they were training.
Feather: You've thought of a way to beat Ferdinand?
Tikoh: I know that we'll corner him one day. I need to have a plan ready for when the time comes.
Randall: I've thought about that too, but he's so good at guessing what we're going to do that it creeps me out.
Feather: Yeah... Everything ended up going exactly how he wanted at Stella Island.
Tikoh: But that's his weakness too.
Tikoh: The reason he makes it look easy is that he has total confidence in himself. If we just manage to surprise him once, he'll surely be taken aback for a moment.
Feather: So then... You think that we can take him down if we work together?
Randall: I'm in. Let's hear it.
Randall: (We've figured out his ability. Our plan should work!)
Feather and Randall take a step back and stand near Tikoh.
Feather: Lion Khan Claw... Forsake the sheep of old and become the lion of this day!
Randall: Joyeuse... Kick off the ebony eagle and soar to the blue yonder!
Ferdinand: Oh? It seems you've been polishing your skills since we last met.
Ragazzo: Feather has the ability to temporarily up his speed and strength, whereas Randall can shoot out long-range attacks from his kicks...
Ragazzo: Ha, hoping that you can overcome the price of your power with Tikoh's healing?
Tikoh: ...!
Ragazzo: ...
Just hang back and watch, Ferdinand.
Ragazzo steps forward and gets into his usual unconventional stance.
Ragazzo: Hey, I am grateful for these arms and the briny-bites and stuff, you know?
Ragazzo: But that naivety is gonna get you all killed.
Ragazzo: Mind-Blowing Meltdown!
Feather: Raging Blast Knuckle!
Randall: Cyclone Kick!
The three men's attacks collide, and the shock wave causes some of the stage lights to come on.
Feather & Randall: Ugh!
Ragazzo stands in the spotlight, sneering at Feather and Randall as they lay bested on the floor.
Suddenly, something shoots past Ragazzo at a tremendous speed.
Tikoh: Haaah!
Ragazzo: Huh?
Tikoh, whom Ragazzo had assumed would be staying behind Feather and Randall, leaves him behind as she shoots in a straight line toward Ferdinand.
Ragazzo: What! She's supposed to be healing...
Ragazzo: Wait, forget about that. How's she going so fast?
Feather: Didn't notice? Randall wasn't even attacking you!
Randall: All I did was shoot out one of Joyeuse's shock waves for Tikoh to ride on!
Tikoh: ...!
Propelled by the wave beneath her feet, Tikoh flies toward Ferdinand.
Ferdinand: Shannon! No, I suppose I should commend you, Dr. Tikoh! I wasn't expecting a physician to come to the front line.
Ferdinand: However, I'm afraid this isn't enough.
Tikoh: Rgh!
Tikoh: Fine by me!
Ferdinand: ...!
You're not even healing yourself? Were you planning to give up your life to kill me from the—
Tikoh: Ferdinaaaaaand!
Ferdinand: Argh!
Tikoh's scalpel, filled with all the magic she can muster, reaches Ferdinand's left breast.
Ferdinand: ...
Just kidding.
Tikoh: ...!
A broken Taming Sari floats between Tikoh and Ferdinand, before crumbling to the floor and disappearing.
Ferdinand: You almost did it. But you should have paid more attention.
Ferdinand: Taming Sari is a dagger, but if I make it appear where I'm being attacked, I can use it as a shield.
Tikoh: Ugh...
Tikoh had left herself vulnerable in her attempt to catch Ferdinand by surprise, and now he stands before her with a tender smile.
Ferdinand: Well now, we can't have this. Is this arm how you tried to hurt your papa?
Tikoh: Aaaahhh!

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 5: Retrograde - Episode 5

Ferdinand has cut off Tikoh's left arm. However, Tikoh had moved Shannon's soul to that arm, who interferes with the soul of her own father that still resides within Ferdinand, paralyzing him. Moreover, Ragazzo chooses this moment to turn on Ferdinand, hitting him with a fiery strike from his new mechanical arms. Ragazzo had decided that as his son, he needed to put an end to Ferdinand's villainy. With the stage set, the four face off against Ferdinand head-to-head.

Feather and Randall had taken on the task of keeping Ragazzo occupied while Tikoh attacked Ferdinand, pinning all their hopes on her gambit bearing fruit.
Feather & Randall: ...!
What they witness instead, as they lay defeated on the ground, is the sight of Tikoh's left arm being severed.
Feather: Tikoh!
Tikoh: Grgh... Aaahh!
Ferdinand: Oh no! Are you all right, Dr. Tikoh?
Randall: ...
What?
Ferdinand: I'm so sorry, I assumed you were using anesthesia magic or something just in case.
Ferdinand: You really were betting everything on that attack, weren't you? In any case, we need to ease your pain somehow.
Ferdinand: Oh, I know! Apparently, feeling pain somewhere else helps you distract yourself from your original wound!
Seeming by all measures to be genuinely concerned, Ferdinand raises Taming Sari above his head.
Ferdinand: Hm?
Just as he is about to swing his dagger down, he feels something touching his ankle.
Ferdinand: ...!
Suddenly, Ferdinand realizes he is unable to move, as if every muscle in his body has been petrified.
Ferdinand: Wh-what? What is this? My whole body's...
Struggling with his paralysis, he frantically moves his eyes, the only part of his body that still obeys him, until they discover something unexpected.
Hanging off of Ferdinand's ankle is Tikoh's severed left arm.
Ferdinand: What? How is...
Ferdinand: ...!
Tikoh: We'll be together forever, Shannon.
Ferdinand: ...?
Tikoh: This is my first time seeing you look truly scared, Ferdinand. I must say, it's not an unpleasant experience.
Even as she feels the blood spurt from her body, Tikoh keeps her eyes locked on Ferdinand.
Tikoh: The true nature of the Asclepius Rod's ability is the power to interfere with souls. It's usefulness in healing is only a byproduct.
Tikoh: Right now, my severed left arm is grasping your soul, binding and paralyzing you.
Ferdinand: Grasping my soul? Was it not only souls that have been separated from their bodies that the Asclepius Rod can affect?
Tikoh: That's correct. It can only interfere with the souls of the dead that remain in this world.
Tikoh: But have you forgotten? At least one dead man's soul resides inside your body!
Ferdinand: ...!
Tikoh: You killed and ate Shannon's father, calling it a ritual. It was an unimaginably gruesome act.
Tikoh: And right now, I've left Shannon in control of my left arm. Are you beginning to understand?
Tikoh: Shannon, who's residing in my arm, is interfering with the soul of her father, who's taken root in your body!
Shannon: ...!
Ferdinand: Ridiculous! That happened ages ago! His soul should long be—
Tikoh: Can you not feel the emotions swirling inside of you?
Tikoh: His sorrow at not being able to live out his life with his family that torments him... The determination to leave something for his beloved daughter that keeps him bound to this world...
Tikoh: The love that is binding you right now is something you'll never be able to understand!
Ferdinand: Urk... Grgh!
Ferdinand: No! Get out, get out, get out!
Mustering his obsession with achieving his own wish, Ferdinand sends Taming Sari toward his feet.
Ferdinand: Aghh!
Tikoh: ...!
You used your dagger... to cut off your own foot?
Randall: Her left arm isn't grabbing him anymore!
Feather: No! Get away from him, Tikoh!
Ferdinand: Having trouble moving? I'm little better off than you at the moment, but...
Ferdinand: Ragazzo!
Ragazzo: Took you long enough. You all didn't forget I was here too, did ya?
Tikoh: ...!
Feather: Stop it! Ragazzo!
Ragazzo: ...
Sorry.
Ragazzo: I've gotta do what I can for my old man's sake too, you know?
Standing before Tikoh, Ragazzo engulfs his artificial hand in flames.
Tikoh inadvertently closes her eyes in anticipation of the fatal blow...
Ferdinand: Grugh!
The Three: ...!
For a second, nobody can process what had just happened.
Ferdinand looks down blankly at Ragazzo's fist buried into his stomach.
Ferdinand: Ra... ga...
Ragazzo: ...
Ferdinand: Why? Aren't we father and son?
Ragazzo: ...
Yeah, no doubt about it.
Ragazzo: Whether you cut my arms off, or whether you were just using me... I'm still your son.
Ferdinand: Then—
Ragazzo: That's exactly why I'm going to put you in the ground.
Ferdinand: ...?
Ragazzo: I can't let you commit any more sins than you already have.
Ragazzo: By my own hand, I'll crush your plan and put you to rest.
Ferdinand: No! That's not what I want!
Ferdinand: I'm not ready yet! The constellation isn't complete yet!
Ferdinand: Don't do this! I don't need you anymore—just stay out of this!
Ragazzo: ...
Ragazzo: I used to be fine doing anything for you, so long as it helped you.
Ragazzo looks down at his mechanical arms and strokes them tenderly.
Ragazzo: But now, I'm gonna decide for myself what to do for your sake!
Ragazzo: Haaah!
Ferdinand: Huff... Huff...
Feather: What! Is he completely free now?
Tikoh: No, the rod is still affecting him. He won't be able to escape it.
Tikoh picks up her arm and uses her medical magic to temporarily reattach it.
Tikoh: Welcome back, Shannon. As much as I'd like to take a minute to heal this properly, we have other matters to attend to first.
Feather: Thanks, Tikoh. All that's left now is to take this guy down!
Ferdinand: What a disaster! My beautiful constellation is in ruins!
Randall: Well isn't this nice, Ferdinand? What better place for a villain like you to die than on stage?
Tikoh: You won't be going anywhere! This is where your story ends!
Ragazzo: It's time you gave up, Ferdinand!

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 6: Conjunction - Episode 1

Cupitan and Tristette have met in the forest. Cupitan resolves to fight Tristette in order to face her feelings for her. As their battle rages on, their Horoscopes resonate and they see glimpses of each other's past. Though their circumstances differed, both Cupitan and Tristette had suffered lonely childhoods.

Cupitan and Tristette stand facing off in the forest that connects their past and present.
Tristette: Don't you go dying to one of my stupid monsters now! I'm gonna put you in the ground personally!
Cupitan: Oh, Ris... You want to kill me yourself? How wonderful!
Tristette: ...
You're nuts.
Cupitan: You're one to talk. Weren't you saying you didn't care about me last time we met?
Tristette: ...!
Tristette: Grovel before me, Slarnd! I grant you permission to release your power!
Monsters: ...!
Tristette: I'm not looking to chat with you. Get ready to die!
Cupitan: I'm always happy to talk to you, Ris!
Cupitan: Prism Arrow... Let this be a prayer to the child of caprice, and link us to a hueless dream!
Tristette: Get going, my stupid little army! Go tear out her throa—
Tristette: Tch... I just can't catch a damn break, can I?
Cupitan: Wait... Does your price have to do with your eyes?
Tristette: So what if it does?
Cupitan: Well, the truth is that my vision's been getting worse... I've also been getting dizzy more and more often.
Tristette: What? I thought the Rainbow Bow's price was the breakdown of your emotions.
Cupitan: ...
If only... that were true.
Cupitan: Prism Arrow... Link us to a dream of a crimson hue.
Tristette: What! You're making my monsters—
Monster: ...!
Tristette dodges the monster's attack, but its claws rip off her mask.
Tristette: Damn it!
Cupitan: I'm going to fight you with everything I have... Let's face each other properly, Ris!
Tristette: Get the hell over here, my stupid little army!
As more monsters appear, Cupitan uses her Prism Arrows to make them fight each other.
Cupitan: All right, their numbers match. Now Ris's ability is...
Cupitan: ...!
Cupitan: Wait, where'd Ris go—
Tristette: Eat this!
Tristette suddenly leaps from the back of a jumping monster and attacks Cupitan.
Cupitan: ...!
As Tristette's axe comes down on her from above, Cupitan wildly fires Prism Arrows in defense.
Cupitan & Tristette: Eep!
When the Horoscopes—filled with their wielders' heightened emotions—collide, they momentarily connect the two Accordants' hearts.
That brief resonance shows each of them one of the other's most deeply buried memories—ones that they had never spoken of to each other.
Cupitan's memory begins in the days before she possessed the Rainbow Bow.
Young Cupitan: Welcome back, Mom...
Cupitan's Mother: Hm? Oh, you were here, right.
Young Cupitan: U-um... I made some cookies. Do you want some?
Cupitan's Mother: What? Don't waste my ingredients!
Young Cupitan: Eek!
Young Cupitan: B-but, the things that your customer brought you were going bad, so...
Cupitan's Mother: For goodness sake... Customers sure are stingy these days.
Cupitan's Mother: I think I'm still plenty young enough... It must be because I have a child.
Young Cupitan: ...
Cupitan: I wanted to know what my mother was thinking.
Cupitan: I wanted to understand her and help her.
Rainbow Bow: ...
Cupitan: I thought that this beautiful bow would surely save me.
Cupitan: But...
Cupitan's Mother: Oh, what a pretty bow! I wonder if I can get this decoration off?
Young Cupitan: This... color...
Cupitan's Mother: (Skies, what a nuisance! It's your fault that he left me for another woman!)
Cupitan's Mother: (Money... If only I had money, I could live together with him again!)
Young Cupitan: ...
Cupitan: A little bit after I started using the Rainbow Bow's ability to earn money, my father came back.
Cupitan: But eventually, its reputation spread far and wide and it all became too much for my parents to handle, so they sold me to the government.
Cupitan: I got to live in a nice, big room, but I was still alone.
Tristette's memory begins in the days before she possessed Slarnd.
Young Tristette: Hey, Dad. Why's this collar gotta be so tight?
Tristette's Father: I'm sorry, Tristette. That's what our owner wants.
Tristette: On Dad's neck, too, was the same metal collar.
Young Tristette: They're people just like us, aren't they? Why does this have to happen to us just because we were born somewhere different!
Tristette's Father: I'm sorry, Tristette, but please, just do what they say.
Tristette's Father: If I lost you too, I'd...
Young Tristette: ...
Tristette: One night, we were waiting on them at one of their dinner parties.
Lord of the Manor: Hey, you. Take this plate away.
Tristette's Father: Yes, sir.
Lord of the Manor: Oh dear! I dropped it on the floor!
Tristette's Father: I'll clean it up immediately. Have your clothes been dir—
Lord of the Manor: What in the skies are you talking about?
Lord of the Manor: You've just earned the right to eat. Get on your hands and knees and lick the floor clean.
Tristette's Father: ...
Yes, of course.
Guest: Oh my! Look at how thorough he is! You've trained these animals well.
Young Tristette: ...
Lord of the Manor: You there, child. Finish my guest's meal for her.
Guest: Oh, I'd love to see it up close! Come here, right by my feet.
Tristette's Father: W-wait! I'll clean it all up, so—
Lord of the Manor: Shut your mouth, animal! I told the child to do it!
Young Tristette: ...!
Young Tristette: ...
Yes, gladly.
Young Tristette: (I'll never forget this. One day, I'm going to give these idiots a taste of their own medicine!)
Tristette's Father: I'm sorry, Tristette... I'm so sorry you had to be my daughter...
Tristette: On the night that Dad died, he kept apologizing to me until his last breath. Then it appeared.
Slarnd: ...
Tristette: I thought that this imposing axe would surely save me.
Tristette: But...
Tristette: When I got my revenge and returned to my homeland, salvation was not what awaited me.
Young Tristette: ...
Young Tristette: ...
So this is how it ends up anyway.
Tristette: My own people called me a monster and locked me up in a storehouse.
Tristette: I didn't have a collar anymore, but I was still alone.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 6: Conjunction - Episode 2

Cupitan and Tristette clash as they lay bear their true feelings for each other, causing the Rainbow Bow and Slarnd to harmonize. The two Accordants take on new forms as their struggle, both with each other and with their own emotions, approaches its climax.

The two had lived through hell, but eventually fate brings them together.
Young Cupitan: (Ris is the only person I want to stay with... without looking at the color of her heart!)
Young Tristette: (Cupitan is the only person I wanna stay with... as an equal!)
One night, they look up at the night sky through the window of Cupitan's room.
Young Cupitan: There's so many stars! Aren't they so pretty?
Young Tristette: Are they? Doesn't the light from the town make them look kinda crummy?
Young Cupitan: Not at all! Even if they're a bit dim, they look much more beautiful than they used to.
Young Cupitan: ...
It was only after I met you, Ris, that I felt grateful for the fact that I'm alive.
Young Cupitan: I think that the two of us were born into this world holding hands, and it's only now that we've met that we're one again.
Young Tristette: ...
Yeah, whatever.
Young Cupitan: I love you, Ris!
Young Tristette: Wha—I told you to stop hugging me! This stuff's what I hate about you!
Tristette: I loved you!
Tristette: Stop looking at the stars! Just look at me! For that, I'd do anything!
Cupitan: I... I hated you!
Cupitan: If that's what you wanted, then look at me and say that! You'd always refuse to say what's important and decide things on your own!
Tristette: It was easier to think I hated you! That way, I didn't have to let your existence or my own heart mess with me!
Cupitan: It was easier to think I loved you! Acting like I loved was the only way I knew how to live!
Cupitan & Tristette: I...
As their weapons clash, the two are suddenly enveloped in light.
Love and hate. Adoration and jealousy. Respect and possessiveness. Selflessness and lust. All of these contradictory emotions overflow in a blinding rainbow of colors.
At last, the light fades away, revealing the two Accordants.
Tristette: Whew...
Tristette: So this is that harmonization thing everyone's talking about.
Cupitan: ...
Having revealed everything to each other during their fierce battle, Cupitan and Tristette draw out the ultimate power of their Horoscopes.
Having run from their feelings for much of their lives, the two are finally about to settle their score.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 6: Conjunction - Episode 3

Back at the arena, Lavirita waits until his Horoscope exhibits some kind of change before going on the offense against Fiorito. Fiorito evades his salvo and counterattacks. Lavirita falls, but Fiorito feels like something was off about the fight. At the same time, (Captain) returns just in time to save Manamel after being rescued. However, Felix and Lodi use the synergy between their abilities to fend off the crew despite their numerical disadvantage and leave after revealing where Cupitan is.

Fiorito tries her hardest to land a punch on Lavirita as he gracefully dodges every strike.
Lavirita, however, never counterattacks, shooting only to keep a check on her movements.
Lavirita: Whew... Your stamina is impressive.
Fiorito: What're you trying to do here? Why are you not using your Horoscope's ability?
Lavirita: Oh? I don't remember training you to ask questions of your opponent, or at least to expect them to be answered.
Fiorito: ...
Lavirita: Don't worry. If you're in need of more bullets, I'm perfectly willing to provide.
Fiorito: Are you messing with me right now? There's no way that little burst could—
Lavirita: Well, well. Finally ready, are we?
Lavirita's Bird Eye glows as if it's eagerly waiting for something.
Lavirita: What made me encourage you, was it? I'll tell you free of charge.
Lavirita: ...
Just once, I wanted to change fate.
Fiorito: What?
Lavirita: Thank you for your patience. I'll be ending this with one attack.
Fiorito: ...!
Lavirita: Horta Salva!
Fiorito: (It's just more burst fire? No, I don't have time to think!)
Fiorito: (I'm ending this here!)
Fiorito: Haaah!
Using the seating as cover, Fiorito rushes up to Lavirita.
Lavirita: (You've become quite nimble. Who would have imagined that the child I spared that day would become so formidable?)
Young Fiorito: Hey, you. Think you can let me join you guys?
Lavirita: Oh?
Lavirita: (The strength to go up against fate and overcome even the constellations... What a radiant glimmer...)
Lavirita: (For one who spent his life gathering up dully gleaming coins, you've always been almost too bright to look at straight on...)
Lavirita: Ungh!
Fiorito: ...!
Lavirita, why didn't—
Lavirita: ...
Fiorito's fist slams with full force into the left side of Lavirita's chest, and he collapses to the ground.
Lavirita: Allow me... to correct myself...
Lavirita: Guiding you to... Navis...
Lavirita: Wasn't a... mis—
Feeling his heartbeat slowing, Lavirita closes his eyes and recalls a scene from the distant past.
Lavirita: (Father, Mother...)
Lavirita: (Will I be forgiven?)
Lavirita: ...
As Kolulu writhes in torment, Lodi continues his singing.
Kolulu: Aaargh! Aaaah!
Lodi: Oh dear. I guess that was too much for her to handle.
(Captain): ...!
Lodi: Whoa!
Manamel: (Captain)! You were all right!
The captain grabs Kolulu and retreats back to Manamel's position, laying Kolulu down before preparing to fight once more.
Felix: Impossible! Why is (Captain) here?
Manamel: Watch out, (Captain)! I'll explain later, but Troue is the trai—
Manamel: Hm?
Manamel: (What? Where's Durandal?)
Felix: Just kidding. You should be more careful.
(Captain): ...!
Manamel: Oh n—
Manamel realizes that it isn't (Captain), but rather Durandal in disguise—however, it is already too late.
Manamel: Gah!
Felix: Whew... Overcoming Vegalta's defense is no easy feat.
Felix: Ah, thank goodness you joined this crew. I don't know what I would have done if I had needed to fight you back when you only worked alone.
Felix: Fortunately, that "friendship" or whatnot that you all are so fond of granted me an opening.
Manamel: ...!
Troue takes out Manamel's earplugs and flashes an innocent smile.
Felix: Oh, I know! We'll make you and Kolulu fight each other—to death, of course.
Manamel: Wha...
Felix: The higher the absolute value of your relationship, the closer you get to harmonizing, after all.
Felix: If you please, Lodi.
Lodi: Okey dokey!
Manamel: S-stop!
Kolulu and Manamel lie helplessly on the ground as Lodi starts singing a song to instill discontentment in them.
Manamel: Aaahh... No...
Unable to resist the impulses Lodi's power elicits in her, Manamel prepares to send Vegalta flying at Kolulu.
  1. Haaah!

Choose: Haaah!
Lodi: ...!
Is that the real—
Vyrn: Get away from Kolulu and Manamel, you jokers!
Feather: We found them locked up in the arena's basement!
Feather: And we beat Ferdinand! You guys are done for!
Felix: Whoa, Ferdi's gone down? Poor thing. How could Ragazzo betray him after everything he did for him?
Randall: Who're you to talk? I hope you're ready for what's coming to you!
Felix: Haha, that's my line, I believe.
Felix: Hup!
Felix laughs and tosses Durandal up into the air.
Durandal: ...
Feather: ...!
Durandal... turned into Cupitan?
Durandal: ...
Ragazzo: Tch... Imitating me now, are you?
Felix: Thank goodness you all are so strong! It's a great help to me!
Tikoh: Don't let him shake you! No matter who he makes it imitate, he's still outnum—
Felix: Enjoy your dreams.
Tikoh: ...!
Ferdinand: It's too bad!
Shannon's Mom: ...!
Troue uses his Gift of Visions to show Tikoh a terrible event from her past. She slowly falls to the ground.
Felix: Right then, let's play tag. I've got a wonderful nightmare ready for everyone I catch!
Vyrn: Th-this guy's...
The intensity felt from Felix's nonchalant expression makes the crew inadvertently take a step back.
Lodi: Transforming and the Gift of Visions have got some crazy chemistry! I love getting the chance to see them up close.
Lodi: Aren't you all tired? Let's just call this concert a wrap.
Randall: Call it a wrap? Do you really think we're just going to let you go?
Felix: What are you talking about? We're the ones letting you go.
The Four: ...!
Felix: Good, that's the smart call! In any case, you did manage to surprise us a couple times, so I think you did well enough to give yourselves a pat on the back.
Felix: Ah, right. You might be able to find Cupitan if you go to the southern forest.
Felix: I have no idea what state you'll find her in though.
(Captain) and company can do nothing but glare at Felix and Lodi as the two leave.
Putting their misgivings aside, the crew members make sure Kolulu and Manamel are properly treated before hurriedly making their way to the southern forest.

Unbound Asterism - Chapter 6: Conjunction - Episode 4

Cupitan and Tristette face each other in their harmonic forms. In order to come to terms with their feelings for one another, they begin their final battle.

In the forest, Cupitan and Tristette are facing each other down.
Both have caught their breath and are ready to begin fighting again.
Tristette: And now it's made me an animal. What a punch line, huh?
Cupitan: ...
Tristette: What pretty wings... I'll rip them off and attach them to my back.
Cupitan: Me too. I'll skin you and make pajamas out of your pelt.
The two smile, glaring into the depths of each other's eyes.
Tristette: Damn, I've really been stupid.
Tristette: I should have beaten you and killed the beast inside me a long time ago.
Cupitan: ...
I'm done avoiding my issues too.
Cupitan: I'm going to face you head-on and make everything clear to both of us!
Tristette: I hope you're ready for this, Cupitan!
Cupitan: Let's go, Ris!

Unbound Asterism - Ending - Episode 1

Having expended all of their energy, Cupitan and Tristette accept each other's feelings and become one. Their long-coming reconciliation is interrupted by Morilynn and Judah. Tristette prevents Morilynn from killing Cupitan, but suddenly the arm she used to block the Auditor's mysterious attack begins to rot. Morilynn claims to actually be the Horoscope Thalassinus given life. The two members of Navis take Slarnd and Tristette with them, leaving Cupitan alone.

Cupitan: Huff... Huff...
Tristette: I can't... move a muscle...
Having expended all of their energy, Cupitan and Tristette collapse to the ground.
Cupitan & Tristette: ...
Cupitan: ...
It's been a while since we laid down on the ground together like this.
Tristette: ...
We were always sleeping outside back then, so we had to hold each other close to keep warm...
Cupitan: Did we really have to?
Tristette: ...
Tristette: ...
Look at me, Cupitan. What color is my heart right now?
Cupitan: Huh? But, I...
Tristette: Just do it.
Tristette: Yellow like a field of sunflowers? Blue like an oasis? Pink like a juicy peach?
Cupitan: ...
Cupitan: ...
It's pitch-black.
Cupitan: It hurts to look at and I can't see anything. But it's such a strong emotion...
Tristette: Hehehe, I bet it is.
Cupitan and Tristette help each other to sit up.
Tristette: I hate you more than anything else in these skies.
Cupitan: ...
Me too.
Cupitan: I love you more than anything else in these skies.
Like two drops of water that touch.
Like two stars pulled together by gravity.
As the two become one, they taste blood and tears.
Cupitan & Tristette: ...
Tristette: ...
Bitter... but sweet.
Cupitan: This time, can we carry our sins and punishment together?
Tristette: ...
Fine, if you insist.
Cupitan: Hehe. I hate how you're never honest, but I love it too.
The two wipe the blood, tears, and mud off each other's faces.
Cupitan: So... does this mean we were never exactly friends?
Tristette: What's the point of figuring that out and categorizing everything?
Tristette: ...
Who cares? Let's just accept our pitch-black feelings for what they are.
Tristette reaches around to Cupitan's back, gently caressing her shoulder blades.
Tristette: There's still traces of those wings on your back.
Cupitan: You ripped them off for me, Ris.
Tristette: ...
Stupid.
They close their eyes, feeling their warmth melting into each other.
Having transcended love and hate, friendship and passion, and anything else that could define them, the two finally reach a mutual understanding.
Morilynn: Wow, looks like things are getting spicy over here.
Cupitan & Tristette: ...
Morilynn: Hey, Judah. Do you think we could extract the heat from this spiciness and use it to make hot water?
Judah: ...
Don't ask me.
Morilynn: Good point, you're just a scientist. If you want to ask about food ask a chef, for bugs ask an entomologist, for hot water, ask...
Morilynn: Hm? A bathhouse owner, I guess?
Two members of Navis suddenly arrive at the scene, but Cupitan and Tristette merely smile at them.
Tristette: Hehe, I knew it.
Cupitan: So you were ready for this too, huh?
Tristette: Don't be stupid—of course I was. I don't like being used, but...
Tristette: If I can die with you, then I'm fine with it.
Cupitan: Yes. If it's with you, Ris...
Judah: ...
Morilynn: I see... I'm sorry to hear that.
Tristette: What?
Morilynn: I regret to inform you that it's only Cupitan that will be kicking the bucket.
Cupitan & Tristette: ...!
Morilynn: Ready or not!
Suddenly, Morilynn rushes forward and reaches out for Cupitan.
Tristette: (What? Without a weapon?)
Ferdinand: Uh-oh! I wouldn't touch their hand if I were you.
Tristette: ...!
Tristette: I won't let you!
With the last of her strength, Tristette knocks Morilynn's arm away with her own.
Morilynn: Wow, and here I was thinking you were down for the count.
Morilynn: How unfortunate.
Tristette: ...!
Cupitan: Wh-what?
Tristette notices something wrong with her arm.
From the part that Morilynn touched, it begins to rapidly rot away and falls to the ground, melting into a pool of black liquid before evaporating away.
Tristette: Ah... Aaahh...
The rot spreads from her arm to the rest of her body, turning it black.
Cupitan: Noooo!
Morilynn: I'm sorry. I don't have a Horoscope—I am one. A weapon in people's clothing, you might say.
Morilynn: Thalassinus... My power is to subject those who come into contact with me to nature's inevitable mandate, bestowing upon them ultimate death.
Morilynn: In other words, no touchy.
Cupitan: Ris! Ris!
Cupitan tries desperately to salvage pieces of Tristette's body as they break apart and fall to the ground.
Tristette: Hehe... Well, damn.
Tristette: I guess... I'll be carrying the punishment alone... after all...
Cupitan: No! We said we'd do it together!
Cupitan: Ris!
Judah: You didn't need to tell them that, Morilynn.
Morilynn: I'm sorry. Somehow, it didn't feel right to not say anything...
Judah: Guilt, huh? I had planned for your instability, but it seems I didn't go far enough.
Judah: I had hoped that killing Cupitan in front of Tristette would break her will and make a living corpse out of her.
Judah: That would have made it convenient to experiment on her... But now, I suppose I'll have to rewrite the constellation.
Judah: Nereus.
Nereus: You shall be indebted to me for this.
Nereus: O Nereus Staff, mock the absent god.
Tristette: ...
Cupitan: Wh-what? What are you going to do to Ris?
Nereus: The evasive Pesci... I commend you for facing your problems honorably.
Nereus: I assure you that your wishes will be made to benefit this world.
Judah: The Rainbow Bow can stay with you for now, but we'll be taking Tristette and Slarnd.
Cupitan: Wait! Where are you going with—
Morilynn: School's over, time to go home. Tristette's my classmate, so she comes with me.
Morilynn: A decision's quite the weight to carry around, you know? It's as heavy as a whole steak eaten for breakfast.
Nereus waves her staff and all four members of Navis disappear, leaving Cupitan alone.
Along with them disappear all traces of Tristette's presence, from the now harmonized Slarnd down to her tears in the mud.
Cupitan: ...
As she sits on the ground, Cupitan hears voices in the distance.
From the corner of her eye, she vaguely recognizes (Captain) and the rest of the crew running up to her.
But she merely stares into space, unable to muster the drive to stand up or even acknowledge her friends.

Unbound Asterism - Ending - Episode 2

The day after the battle, Fiorito learns that Lavirita had chosen to die for money, and, accepting the late Harvin's compassion, decides to continue on as a member of (Captain)'s crew, this time without pretense. Kolulu, Manamel, Tikoh, and Cupitan enjoy their brief respite and resolve to continue the fight to defeat Navis. Meanwhile, Feather and Randall convince Ragazzo to join the crew.

The morning after the battle on Ovuque Island, (Captain) and company are still unable to process what happened.
Regardless, Fiorito takes her friends to a local gym, encouraging them to participate in some training.
Fiorito: Aah, it hurts so good! You're so beautiful when you're working hard, Rosa!
Fiorito: (Captain), Vyrn, Lyria! I see you've got your flowers blooming!
Vyrn: Hey, Muscle Lady! Why are we lifting weights!
Lyria: Hrgh... That's right. Didn't you say you had something important to tell us?
Despite having followed Fiorito and starting their exercise without question, the trio are unsure of what to make of the situation.
Fiorito: Well, the truth is, I actually really like muscles!
  1. Yeah, we can tell.

Choose: Yeah, we can tell.
Fiorito: Oh, you can? I'm such a baby about muscle pain that most of the big guys are surprised about it...
Fiorito: Well, anyway! My point is that the gym's where I can really be myself.
Fiorito had spoken of her secret again last night in front of the whole crew, including (Captain).
However, she feels the need to tell the captain yet again of her life story in full.
Fiorito: ...
I'm sorry. I took advantage of your kindness to deceive you.
  1. I appreciate you telling us.
  2. I don't consider that deception.
  3. You'd better be!

Choose: I appreciate you telling us.
Lyria: Me too! The way you always seemed to be struggling with something made us worry about you!
Vyrn: We're just glad that you've finally gotten it off your chest.

Choose: I don't consider that deception.
Vyrn: Yeah, you did say that there was something you couldn't tell us, after all.
Lyria: And it's not like our memories with you and all the times you helped us were a lie!

Choose: You'd better be!
Vyrn: Haha! Pouting doesn't make you look very intimidating, you know!
Lyria: You're just happy we'll still be able to be with Fio, aren't you, (Captain)?
Continue 1
Fiorito: Thanks. You guys are really great.
As Fiorito smiles, her gaze drops to Sphairai.
Fiorito: Lavirita was the one guarding you in that cell, right?
Vyrn: Yeah... After he left, Feather's group came to save us.
Fiorito: I see... Did he say anything to you guys?
Lyria: ...
I'm sorry, but could you tell us what happened on your end first?
Fiorito: ...
Lavirita: Ungh!
Fiorito: I... I killed him.
Vyrn & Lyria: ...!
Fiorito: With my own hands... With one blow from Sphairai.
Fiorito: But... something was odd about it.
Lyria: Odd?
Fiorito: He should have been able to avoid me. At the very least, he could've made me miss his vitals.
Fiorito: And after he died, his Bird Eye was nowhere to be found.
Vyrn: ...
So it really did go down like that.
Fiorito: ...!
Do you know something?
Vyrn: Yeah. So he told us something...
Lavirita: Right then... I have answered your questions free of charge, so I suppose it would be only fair for you to do something for me in return.
Lavirita: The truth is, I'm about to die.
Vyrn: Wha!
Lavirita: To be killed, specifically. Even more specifically, to be killed by Fiorito.
Lyria: By Fiorito? But why?
Lavirita: I couldn't say. Those are my orders, and I see no need to question them.
Lavirita: Well, considering what they insisted I do with this gun, I can make an educated guess.
Vyrn: What are you talking about! Why would you just calmly obey an order to die?
Lavirita: Why be so concerned about the death of an enemy? I suppose the rumors about you all are true.
Lavirita: But please, don't trouble yourselves. Navis has offered me adequate compensation.
Lyria: That's impossible! No amount of money could be worth your life!
Lavirita: I beg to differ. I rationally considered the worth of the action I would be taking and the sum they offered and accepted the job.
Vyrn: How can you say that? You can't even use that money once you're dead...
Lavirita: Indeed. That's why, knowing your reputation for kindness, I thought to entrust this matter to you.
Fiorito: That was Lavirita's role in the constellation? That's why he deliberately took that hit?
Fiorito: So, what was it he wanted you to do then?
Vyrn: ...
He told us where he had hidden all the money he's earned and what he wants us to do with it.
Vyrn: Half of it we bury by a certain grave... And the other half we give to you.
Fiorito: ...!
Fiorito: Wh-why? Why would he want me to...
Lyria: ...
We don't know. But it was what he spent his life on.
Lyria: He said that he can't take pride in the way he earned it... but that there's no such thing as dirty money, so you should feel free to use it.
Fiorito: ...
Lavirita: (As you wish. And after that...)
Fiorito: Live true to myself, huh?
Lyria: Fio? Have you figured something out?
Fiorito: ...
I'll accept the money. I'll take care of burying the other half in that grave too.
Fiorito hangs her head a little bit, but quickly looks back up with a smile on her face.
Fiorito: ...
Hey, (Captain). There's just one thing I wanted to ask you.
Fiorito: Do you think it'd be okay if... I stayed in your crew?
(Captain) nods and offers Fiorito a handshake.
Fiorito firmly grasps the captain's hand, offering the first genuine smile that the three has ever seen her make.
Kolulu: ...
Kolulu is sitting on her bed hugging a pillow.
Propped up in the corner of the room is Gisla, emitting a dull light.
Kolulu: Rrg... It seems that my stomach cares not what its master is going through.
Kolulu: Oh? What is this aroma!
Manamel: Heya!
Kolulu: ...!
Manamel?
Manamel: I've made your favorite food, fried chicken! Well, Vega did!
Vegalta: ...
Manamel: Let's eat up while it's hot! Come on, I'll feed you! Well, Vega will!
Manamel bursts into the room, followed by a floating platter of fried chicken that one can only assume is being supported by Vegalta.
Kolulu: Whoa! That looks delicious!
Manamel: You bet it does!
Kolulu: But, um... You don't need to force yourself to act cheerful, Manamel.
Kolulu: I... I'm going to be all right.
Manamel: ...
Manamel: No dice, huh? I guess I should've seen that coming.
Manamel sits down on the bed, leaving some space between her and Kolulu.
Kolulu: Thank you for this food!
Kolulu: Munch, munch... Ah, the flavor is spectacular, and the juiciness is simply divine!
Manamel: Of course it is. Don't underestimate Vega.
Kolulu: We should bring some to Troue, I'm sure he would—
Kolulu: ...
Manamel: Kolulu...
Kolulu: I hope he's still doing his morning walks.
Manamel: ...!
Kolulu: It may have seemed like we were doing the same thing every day, but each morning was a little different.
Kolulu: One day, he would lose his way... Another, he'd be blinded by the sun... And some days, he would feel depressed about his condition...
Kolulu: So I'm worried if he's doing well...
Manamel: ...
After steeling her resolve, Manamel moves to sit next to Kolulu and puts her arm around her shoulder.
Manamel: ...
You're too kind, you know?
Manamel: I need you to turn at least a little bit of that kindness toward yourself.
Kolulu: ...
Kolulu: I... just feel so angry and sad. I can't believe that this happened.
Manamel: ...
Yeah.
Kolulu: It was scary. I felt something dark take root inside of me and demand control.
Manamel: ...
Yeah.
Kolulu: And, also... I felt a little concerned about Lodi. I wonder how we can help him...
Manamel: ...
Yeah?
Manamel: Hold on, we've circled back to worrying about other people... And wait, Lodi's our enemy!
Kolulu: Ahaha... I suppose it's just my nature.
Manamel: ...
When we're done eating, I'll do your makeup.
Kolulu: Makeup? What brought that on?
Manamel: For me, making myself cute with makeup is the first step to paying attention to myself.
Manamel: I'm hoping that a little bit of my self-centeredness will rub off on you.
Kolulu: Manamel...
Kolulu: Thank you. I'm in your care!
Kolulu: A-actually, I had a bit of an interest in cosmetics...
Manamel and Kolulu bounce between a number of unrelated topics as they finish off the fried chicken.
Little by little, the opportunity to relax for a moment unquestionably lifts Kolulu's spirits.
In the inn's infirmary, Tikoh and Cupitan are conducting their regular counseling session.
Tikoh: Well, I think this will be the last day we talk about Tristette.
Cupitan: Huh? Ti, don't tell me you're sick of m—
Tikoh: No!
Tikoh: I'm just saying that it sounds like you've figured out the issues you had concerning Tristette.
Cupitan: ...
I see what you mean. I do think I understand the way I feel about her and what she means to me now.
Tikoh: There's lots of different ways for people to love each other, and I think we should be accepting of them.
Tikoh: We should be accepting of different kinds of physical characteristics too. Making a fuss over people having a thick this or a thin that is unproductive.
Cupitan: I, uh... see what you mean?
After tilting her head for a moment, Cupitan touches her hair ornament.
Cupitan: ...
I prepared myself for the worst once I decided to follow Troue.
Cupitan: But I'm not going to let it end this way.
Cupitan: I swear that I'll get Ris back from Navis!
Tikoh: That's the spirit. And you can count on my help, of co—
Cupitan: And once I rescue her, I'll build Ris Kingdom!
Tikoh: ...
Build what?
Cupitan: A theme park for Ris! There'll be a statue of Ris at the entrance, and a Ris-themed haunted house, and...
Tikoh: Cupitan? Are you sure you've got yourself figured out?
Cupitan: Hahaha, I'm just joking!
Tikoh: Give me a break... I can never tell with you.
Cupitan: Ah!
Tikoh: What now?
Cupitan: I just saw Shannon's color for a moment.
Cupitan: It was a cheerful, gentle pea green. Like someone smiling...
Tikoh: ...
Tikoh: ...
It was a long battle, after all. I'm finally able to come to terms with what's happened a little bit too.
Ragazzo is sitting on a bench by himself, reading a book.
Ragazzo: ...
Feather: Hey, Ragazzo! What's that you're reading?
Ragazzo: ...
A book.
Feather: I can see it's a book, man! What kind of book is it?
Ragazzo: Stop bothering me. What good'll knowing that do you anyway?
Randall: Sorry, Ragazzo, but bothering you is what we're here to do.
Feather and Randall both smile mischievously and sit down next to Ragazzo.
Ragazzo: Tch... Whatever you want, keep it short.
Feather: Sure thing! How about you join our crew?
Ragazzo: ...
What?
Randall: Don't worry, (Captain) and the rest of the gang's already agreed.
Ragazzo: Are you guys crazy? We tried to kill each other, and then after that I lied to you about having amnesia, in case you've forgotten.
Feather: Yeah, but we're fist pals! And don't forget all that paradise of fried food we enjoyed together!
Ragazzo: Yeah, but that was all an act. I—
Feather: Don't be a stick-in-the-mud! Just come with us!
Ragazzo: Wha?
Randall: Well, this guy's off his rocker, but I'm with him on this.
Randall: It's not like you've got anywhere else to go, right? Plus Navis might come after you, so you should be sticking with your friends.
Ragazzo: Friends...
Randall: ...
Keep being a curmudgeon about it and I'll break out my impressions of you when you were pretending to have amnesia. And a hundred of them, too.
Ragazzo: What!
Randall: Let's see, first up we've got... "This is delicious! It's my first time trying anything like this!"
Ragazzo: Hey, cut that out right now! I mean it!
Ragazzo: And that's not what I sounded like at all!
Feather: Hey, that was pretty close!
Ragazzo: You've gotta be kidding!
Feather: Come on, let's go!
Randall: Follow us, Ragazzo!
Feather and Randall stand up and reach out to Ragazzo.
Ragazzo: For Pete's sake... The laid-back skyfarer life, huh?
Ragazzo: ...
Well, that doesn't sound too bad.
Ragazzo closes his book and, grabbing his new friends' hands, pulls himself up off the bench.
His book hangs out of his jacket pocket—"Skyfaring for Dummies: Joining your First Crew."
However, it is unlikely that he will ever open it again.
The conflict on Ovuque Island has finally drawn to a close.
Though the appearance of new Auditors and Troue's revelation indicate that there are many mysteries left to solve, much progress has been made.
With Ferdinand's defeat and Ragazzo joining their ranks, the crew can begin to hope that the tide has turned in their favor.
Will the asterism that (Captain)'s crew is forming surpass Navis's constellations and foil their dark ambitions?
Not a single star in the night sky knows yet how this battle will end.
The End?

Unbound Asterism - Transit - Episode 1

Tikoh and Cupitan wish to visit Ovuque Island once more to further investigate its ruins. Meanwhile, Kolulu is cleaning Troue's room when she finds a letter from him. Elsewhere, Fiorito acquires new information from a note left behind by Lavirita, while Manamel finds a lead from looking into Lodi's interpersonal relationships.

Having completed their business on Ovuque Island, the crew returns to the Grandcypher.
As some semblance of normalcy comes back and they've had time to reflect on the events on Ovuque...
Tikoh and Cupitan go up to the captain with a proposal one day.
Vyrn: You guys wanna take another look at the ruins on Ovuque?
Cupitan: Yes. In particular, we're thinking of the series of ruins in the southern forests of the island.
Tikoh: We've run out of leads on Navis ever since the incident. But we just might be able to find something there.
Lyria: They planted fake clues to lead us there to begin with though...
Tikoh: Yes, I thought the same at first. Yet that's also what makes it the perfect spot to hide something.
Vyrn: Huh? Whaddya mean?
Cupitan: Vyrn, would you go back and look at a lottery ticket that has no winning numbers?
Vyrn: 'Course not... Oh, I see what you mean!
Cupitan: Since we've been conditioned to think there's nothing there, it's a psychological blind spot for us.
Vyrn: Makes sense... Does seem like the perfect place to hide something.
Tikoh: Of course, it's also entirely possible we'll find nothing. Still worth taking a look though, I say.
  1. Fair enough.
  2. Be careful out there.

Choose: Fair enough.
Choose: Be careful out there.
Cupitan: Thanks! We'll try to get back as soon we can!
Elsewhere on the ship, Kolulu is cleaning the room previously used by Troue.
Kolulu: Phew... Since he kept his room pretty clean, there wasn't much to wipe.
Kolulu: Oh, what a neat collection on the shelf... He seemed really fond of the earthenware when we visited the flea market.
Kolulu: Oh yeah! That's also when I bought the rug to counteract the ship's rumbling.
Kolulu: He might not be with us anymore, but I'll never forget the time we spent together...
Kolulu listlessly smiles as she looks to the objects on the desk.
Kolulu: And these are the belongings he left behind in his room at the inn...
Kolulu: He loved this board game set so much that he brought it with him on outings...
Kolulu wallows in nostalgia as she grabs the board and pieces to gently wipe them.
Kolulu: Ah!
A part of the board's backside seems to slide right off.
Kolulu: Oh no! Did I break it?
Kolulu: Wait...
Kolulu notices something tucked away inside the board.
Kolulu: Is this... a letter?
Kolulu: ...!
The letter, written sloppily in Troue's handwriting, is addressed to Kolulu.
Kolulu: What is this doing here?
Kolulu: The handwriting suggests he wrote this in a big rush... And he applied a different level of pressure every few words...
Puzzled as to what this all could possibly mean, Kolulu lays out the letter with apprehension.
Troue: "Dear Kolulu,
(Captain) might be the one to read this, but my gut tells me you'll be the one to find it, Kolulu."
Troue: "I'm not sure how best to put this, but well, here goes."
Troue: "In the very instant before I turn in and fall asleep each night, I can feel 'something' lurking inside me."
Troue: "Of course, I completely forget about it by the time I wake up in the morning."
Troue: "Whatever that 'something' is, it connects with me in that instant and synchronizes with my memories."
Kolulu: Could it possibly be... Troue's original personality? Felix?
Troue: "I write this letter in short bursts, so as not to be discovered by that entity."
Troue: "This board seems like the perfect place to store a secret message, so I shake it to realize I've hidden one in here and only need to write the continuation."
Troue: "I'm doing it almost unconsciously, so my memory of writing this probably won't remain..."
Kolulu: Meaning he took a few hasty seconds each night to write this... That explains the chaotic handwriting.
Troue: "It's rare, but every now and then, I feel like I'm someone else during the day. Oh, don't worry—I'm me right now."
Troue: "My guess is that entity takes my place during those times."
Troue: "The thought scares me... I care not what happens to me, but I don't want to cause trouble for you all."
Kolulu: ...!
Troue: "We've only just met today, but we've also known each other much longer than that... I consider you all my dear friends."
Troue: "That fried chicken was delicious. Playing board games together was a blast."
Troue: "I believe that entity is aware of these emotions of mine as well. There's plenty going on there."
Troue: "So please."
Troue: "I ask that you don't hesitate to—"
Kolulu: ...?
Troue's letter ends there.
Kolulu: Troue... You cared more about us than yourself...
Kolulu holds the crumpled letter close to her chest.
Kolulu: Felix has Troue's memories too...
Troue: ...
Our crew is one big family. I might "disappear" every day, but you still give me plenty of memories...
Troue: Even though I'll forget by tomorrow, I don't want to doubt or battle anyone here.
Troue: Let's leave the competition for board games! That'd be much more fun!
Kolulu: Come to think of it, when Felix said that...
Kolulu: He must have been affected by Troue's emotions...
Though pleased to have found a glimmer of hope, she also cannot forget the sight of Troue hurting her friends.
"I ask that you don't hesitate to—" Kolulu bites her lip in wonder at what the rest of that sentence was supposed to be.
Meanwhile, Fiorito has come to a cemetery on the outskirts of town in a foreign land.
She finds a particular tombstone and plops down in front of it.
Fiorito: Hello, Lavirita's mom and dad... I have money for you from Lavirita.
Fiorito opens up the small box placed in front of the grave and finds it filled to the brim with coinage.
Fiorito: What the... Did he keep all his savings here?
Fiorito: ...
Fiorito closes her eyes and clasps her hands together in silent prayer, her thoughts with the Harvin.
Fiorito: Lavirita... You needed to die in battle against me in order to harmonize the Bird Eye.
Fiorito: You took on the job knowing that, all for the hefty pay. Heh, true to your character to the end.
Fiorito: ...
Fiorito: You always did come off as a bit weird to me... Just look at the way you tried to get me and Ragazzo to make up.
Fiorito: Maybe that's why you were willing to listen to me when I was just a kid.
Lavirita: ...
Just once, I wanted to change fate.
Fiorito: You've changed my fate more than once...
Fiorito takes out her own box and fills it with money, placing it before the grave.
Fiorito: I'll be taking this half.
Fiorito: I'm going to use it for whatever I need, just like you wanted.
Fiorito lays down the bag containing the remaining half of the money from Lavirita.
She stuffs the bag into the box before her.
Fiorito: May you rest in peace with your parents, Lavirita.
Fiorito: Guess this means we're square now, eh? I never liked handling dirty money, so this definitely makes me breathe easier.
Fiorito: Well... I guess I can drop by every now and then to tidy up.
Fiorito gets back up and quietly leaves the cemetery.
Fiorito: ...
Holding back her tears, she presses on without turning back.
The young fighter wanders around town without any particular destination in mind, her gaze cast downward the entire time.
Fiorito: Ah, sorry. I was spacing out...
Woman: No, no—it's fine! I was in a rush myself.
Fiorito helps pick up the woman's scattered belongings from the ground.
Woman: Lavirita asked me to give this to you...
Fiorito: ...!
The crouched woman hands over a slip of paper before hastily taking off.
Fiorito: There's a time and place on this note...
Fiorito flips the note over to find a message written on the backside.
Lavirita's Note: "Consider this a token of appreciation. I'm sure you can handle it."
Fiorito: Huh? What does this mean? What did you leave for me, Lavirita?
Fiorito: ...
Manamel stands alone in front of the Tree of Gains memorial tablet in a certain town square, basking in joy.
Manamel: Way to go, Vega! We're getting closer to sister-boo!
Vegalta: ...!
After learning of Lodi's affiliation with the Aquatic Acolytes, Manamel began looking into everyone he was involved with.
One particular person in Lodi's network caught Manamel's attention.
Manamel: Who would've thought that Lodi and the host of Machomania are connected... Go figure.
Manamel had previously come into contact with a curious man via the Holy Night Machomania tournament.
Manamel: I took him off my list of sussy people since he's not an Acolyte, but I should've known better!
Manamel: I need to track him down right away and see what he knows!
Manamel: Haha... Ahahaha... I'll be seeing you soon, Sister!

Unbound Asterism - Transit - Episode 2

While Lodi and Morilynn shoot the breeze in the green room of Ovuque Island's arena, Judah and Nereus are on the stage attempting to pry into each other's motives. Two unexpected visitors show up: Judah's daughter Fiorito and Nereus's little sister Manamel.

Two performers are on standby in the green room of Ovuque Island's arena.
One is sitting quietly on a chair, while the other is lying sprawled out on a table, munching on madeleines.
Lodi: The producer's still busy, huh...
Morilynn: A shame Judah's still occupied.
Morilynn: Nom, nom... Crunch...
Lodi: That's not what chewing on a madeleine should sound like...
Morilynn: Really? I was trying to play it safe too... Should I bite from the middle? Or should I poke little holes in it first?
Lodi: Eating isn't one of your supported functions. Why even fake it?
Lodi: You're nothing more than a test subject granted a soul by your Horoscope.
Lodi: You and I are both defective... Whatever we do, we should probably keep that in mind—
Morilynn: That's exactly why I'm trying to improve every day.
Morilynn: Since you're actually a person, it's a shame you don't try one of these madeleines.
Lodi: You, on the other hand, are not a person... Why bother trying to eat?
Morilynn: Nom... That's the sound of me widening my cheeks. See? I've learned a thing or two from doing this.
Lodi: ...
As Lodi shakes his head and begins polishing his Parashu, Morilynn polishes a madeleine.
Morilynn: ...
Fiorito: ...!
Morilynn: Hey, it's Miss Macho. Didn't think we would meet again here...
Morilynn: Oh?
Morilynn: (Given the book I espied sticking out of her pouch that day...)
Morilynn: ("The Roses and the Prince"...)
Morilynn: (She must be Judah's real daughter.)
Morilynn: (Bubbly-tubbly... What's this warmth overtaking my body?)
Morilynn: How I yearn to touch you, Fiorito...
As Morilynn mutters under their breath, the madeleines in their hands are crushed into pieces.
Two figures are seated on chairs on the arena's stage.
Judah: With Ferdinand's defeat comes a partial collapse of the constellations.
Judah: How fortunate for us.
Nereus: The constellations are this tale's compass. However, the asterism of the stars is equally important.
Judah: Merely tracing the constellations will not bring us to Argo, you mean to say?
Nereus: Precisely.
Nereus: Just as the constellations are comprised of madness, it is madness itself that will destroy the constellations.
Nereus: To Ferdinand, it is the Vergine's great love...
Nereus: To Judah, it is Fiorito's induction into Navis...
Nereus: That corrupted the fates of Lavirita, Troue, Manamel, and all other Accordants. What goes around comes around.
Judah: ...
Judah: We've seen more Accordants come onto the stage, and the Bird Eye, Slarnd, and Rainbow Bow have now achieved harmonization.
Judah: Things have gone mostly according to the constellation, but it's time we began preparations for the next step.
Nereus: Getting a bit desperate, are you?
Judah: I have my own approach to astrology.
Nereus: And here I thought the shared goal between us three Chairmen was world peace.
Judah: That hasn't changed. Officially, at least.
Nereus: ...
In lieu of responding, Nereus lifts her staff toward the illumination.
Nereus: Do you know of the "sea"?
Judah: ...
What are you trying to say?
Nereus: This staff remembers the sea as it should be.
Nereus: The unmoving starry sky and the infinitesimally small expanse of waters... That is something I cannot overlook.
Nereus: The madness in this world must be redressed with an equal madness... Otherwise we will have no future.
Judah: So that's what you're thinking. Maybe you're the one who's desperate—
The two suddenly feel a certain presence and glare daggers at each other.
Judah: Is this your doing? No, it appears not...
Nereus: Nor is this your doing. After all, there is no reason for either of us to break our nonaggression—
Fiorito & Manamel: ...!
Fiorito and Manamel appear from the wings of the stage.
Manamel: Sister!
Fiorito: Da... d?
Judah: ...
The many illuminations intersect and shine their lights on the duo as they come onto the stage.
Unsure what to expect next, their eyes are filled with both joy and despair.

Unbound Asterism - Transit - Episode 3

At the Ovuque ruins, Tikoh stumbles upon a hidden stone chamber that reveals many Navis secrets. During this time, Cupitan is in a nearby forest when she recalls that the Navis pursuer she and Tristette previously killed was actually Ferdinand. Meanwhile, baby Ferdinand comes out of a pregnant woman's womb via the Taming Sari's power of rebirth.

Tikoh and Cupitan explore the southern forests of Ovuque Island.
They clutch their heads in confusion at the reliefs on the ruin walls.
Tikoh: Pictures of the twenty-three Horoscopes, split into two groups...
Tikoh: Looks like this is the only thing even close to a lead in these ruins...
Cupitan: Yeah, it's unfortunate. You think maybe these are fake clues too?
Tikoh: ...
Cupitan: Um... Do you mind if I take a walk in the nearby forest?
Tikoh: The forest? You mean the place where you and Tristette used to live?
Cupitan: Yeah... I figure this is a good chance to recall my memories of her.
Tikoh: Take your time. I'll be looking around here a bit more.
After seeing Cupitan off, Tikoh approaches the relief for a closer inspection.
Tikoh: Come to think of it, they should've just destroyed this too if they didn't want us to find it.
Tikoh: Why leave anything intact for us to find?
With a heavy sigh, she traces the drawing of the Asclepius Rod with her finger.
Tikoh: ...!
The rod is glowing!
As if responding to the Asclepius Rod, the lines on the relief transform into the shape of a door.
Tikoh: A secret door? I guess these reliefs respond to the corresponding Horoscopes...
Tikoh: ...
Tikoh opens the door and steps into the large stone chamber.
Tikoh: Wh-what is this!
Within the cave-esque stone chamber are more reliefs, in addition to numerous stelae.
Tikoh confirms their contents as she makes her way further in.
Tikoh: "Evidence points to the primal beast Argo being nothing more than the product of someone's imagination, but its existence in the Sky Realm is very real."
Tikoh: ...!
Tikoh: Argo... Could that be the primal Navis is trying to summon?
Tikoh steadies her breathing, trying to calm her racing pulse, before proceeding.
Tikoh: "This is nothing more than our hypothesis, but it appears the Argo's body evolves through the users' sacrifices."
Tikoh: "Given how Argo shares the characteristic of using primal crystals as an energy source, we refer to it as a 'primal beast' for convenience's sake..."
Tikoh: "But fundamentally speaking, it possesses the means to come into being through mechanisms that supersede the Sky Realm's rules."
Tikoh: So Argo is a primal beast, but it also isn't? I don't get it...
Tikoh: Let's read on...
Tikoh: "The observant ones claim Argo was born without a core, splitting into twenty-three pieces at the moment of genesis."
Tikoh: "That's twenty-three sacrificial weapons—bringing them together in their consummate states to manifest Argo is our goal."
Tikoh: Sacrificial weapons... These must be the Horoscopes.
Tikoh: "By granting Argo a core and a purpose of our choosing, its extraordinary capabilities—"
Tikoh: Would allow it to grant a single wish?
Tikoh: "World domination, soul purification, resurrection of the dead, spatiotemporal breakthrough, travel between worlds—nothing is impossible."
Tikoh: Could this be what Navis is gathering the Horoscopes for?
Tikoh: This is all so far-fetched, like something out of a bedtime story... It hardly seems real...
The Asclepius Rod emits a faint glow, as if to assert its own existence.
Tikoh: ...
Tikoh: This is the last stela...
Tikoh: "Once we've amassed ten sacrificial weapons, we will formally declare ourselves a research committee."
Tikoh: "The ones we found on Stella appear to fall under the category of 'planets'—otherwise known as wandering stars."
Tikoh: "The remaining thirteen weapons must be nurtured and harvested by the constellations."
Tikoh: Planets and constellations? That explains why the reliefs outside are split into two groups...
Tikoh: "The Argo Navis—home to those malcontent with all political forces and have come together in their collective wish to conquer madness—will embark on its maiden voyage from this land."
Tikoh: "Once all twenty-three sacrificial weapons have been returned to this land, the Argo will become visible to us as well."
After reading the last stela, Tikoh squats down despite herself.
Tikoh: So in summary, Navis left this place intact because of its historical significance...
Tikoh: What an incredible discovery. I need to let everyone else know.
From her crouching position, the good doctor's eyes stop on a listing of names.
Tikoh: Are these... the founding members of Navis?
Tikoh: It's a very old and weathered stela. What kind of people might they be...
Tikoh: ...!
Treading through the forest, Cupitan retraces the memory of a distant sin.
Cupitan: This is where it happened... He was caked in dirt and blood...
Cupitan: Ngh...
Cupitan: I'm... remembering something important...
Cupitan goes back and forth between clutching her head in pain and upturning the ground before her, hoping to dig up lost memories.
It isn't too long before her fingertips come into contact with a solid, white lump.
Cupitan: Bones... We really buried someone here...
Cupitan: Huh? Something glowed just now...
Cupitan continues digging for the object glowing near the skull.
Cupitan: ...!
A resplendent golden dagger lies before her.
When Cupitan takes the dagger into her hand, it crumbles in a pile of dust.
Cupitan: It's coming back...
Cupitan: The person we killed that day was—
It is a busy day for a loving family in a peaceful village.
A major incident is about to transpire in their humble abode.
Mother: Hrgh... Aahhh!
Midwife: Keep pushing! You're almost there!
The hearty cries of a newborn child echo throughout the room. The family members waiting outside the room are overtaken with delight.
Midwife: Congratulations! You have a healthy baby daughter!
Mother: Aahhh... Thank goodness...
Midwife: Hm?
Midwife: And I can see the head of another healthy child.
Mother: Huh? But I don't feel any pain at all..
Midwife: Here it comes! Hang in there!
Creepy Baby: Hello.
Midwife: Eeeek!
Mother: Huh? Wh-what's happening?
Ferdinand: I'm Ferdinand. You must be my mama.
Midwife: I-it can talk! And his hair's...
Ferdinand: Sigh... Not very welcoming once again.
Ferdinand: It's depressing no matter how many times I go through this. That's why I hate dying.
Ferdinand heaves a weary sigh and manages to stand upright by himself.
Mother: Y-you monster!
Ferdinand: How mean. I may not have kicked and grasped around in your womb like most babies do, but I still am your son.
He wobbles over to the door leading to the living room.
As the family members watch with their mouths agape, Ferdinand speaks in a nostalgic tone.
Ferdinand: You there, mister!
Family Guy: Huh?
Ferdinand: I'd recognize that stiff face anywhere! Thanks for helping me remember!
Ferdinand: I take it that nice lady who just gave birth to me is your little sister?
Family Guy: Y-yes...
Ferdinand: Surely you haven't forgotten how your mother was tragically murdered by some random passerby a few months ago.
Family Guy: ...!
Ferdinand: You were there... Got on your knees and begged for your life.
Family Guy: Ah... Aahh...
Ferdinand: Rebirth... That is the Taming Sari's ability. The dagger undergoing a transformation is just an added bonus.
Ferdinand: Yes. I, myself, am reborn—in the womb of a pregnant woman related to one who fell victim to my dagger.
Ferdinand: If no one matching that description exists at the time of my death, the cycle ends. Though I try to make sure there's always at least one candidate around.
Ferdinand: For the resurrection to happen, I have to have committed the necessary murder within 279 days of my death.
Ferdinand: With all the restrictions in place, I'm forced to regularly kill to make use of this ability. It's quite the hassle, to be sure.
Family Guy: ...
Ferdinand: What's wrong? You should be celebrating the birth of new life.
Ferdinand gives an applause, but everyone else is too flabbergasted to speak, leaving only the cries of the other newborn baby to fill the air.
Ferdinand: Hmm... With this body, I should be a full-fledged adult in about three days.
Ferdinand: Hehe, growing pains can be quite stimulating once you get used to them.
Tikoh: You won't be going anywhere! This is where your story ends!
Ragazzo: It's time to give up. Ferdinand!
Ferdinand: I am the Mercurio... Which makes me fairly compatible with you all.
Ferdinand: I've run into my fair share of dicey situations ever since Navis's inception.
Ferdinand: Time and again, my opponent would die from reaching their life span's end while I was busy adjusting to my new body.
Ferdinand: Dr. Tikoh... I'll have you know that I'm quite proficient at getting away.
Ferdinand paces about in the village, leaving bloodcurdling screams of agony in his wake.
He takes his leave of the area with a sunken expression.
Ferdinand: I can't remember what it's like to have a real family...
Ferdinand: It must be nice.
Ferdinand: At the moment, my family is everyone at Navis. And it is there I now return to.
A golden dagger has found its way into Ferdinand's hand.
The dagger is far too large for a baby to be dragging around. Yet he does so nonetheless, sweating profusely all the while.
Ferdinand's body matures at an alarming rate and will once again prove to be a formidable threat to the crew one day.
To be continued...

Unbound Asterism - Constellation Chart

Nereus: Greetings, central observer of the skies.
Nereus: What is this story about? Where did it begin, and where does it go from here?
Nereus: For starters, who am I? When did I first take on this name?
Nereus: The forgotten, the dubious, the unknown... Let us confirm it all by retracing our steps for the various yous out there.
Nereus: The intricate mythology weaved by the stars awaits.
Nereus: O Nereus Staff, mock the absent god.
Feather: What is this aura? It's crazy strong... and super ready for a fight!
Ragazzo: Sigh...
Feather: Haha! So this guy's the culprit!
Nereus: The first observable stimulus was the encounter between Feather and Ragazzo.
Nereus: This is where (Captain)'s crew first learned about Navis.
Nereus: It is a mysterious, clandestine organization operating from the shadows that isn't afraid to use common folk to achieve its goals. The crew knew little else about it at the time.
Nereus: Though the relationship between (Captain)'s crew and Navis did develop considerably on Stella—the island of stars.
Nereus: Through a series of prearranged encounters, the importance of weapons known as Horoscopes came into the limelight.
Cupitan: Navis is collecting special weapons needed to manifest a certain primal beast.
Cupitan: These weapons are called Horoscopes, and twenty-three of them in total exist in these skies.
Cupitan: Actually, this Rainbow Bow that I wield is also one of the Horoscopes.
Cupitan: But that's not all. Fiorito's Sphairai and Troue's Durandal...
Cupitan: As well as Tikoh's Asclepius Rod and Kolulu's Gisla...
Cupitan: All of them are Horoscopes.
Nereus: The Horoscopes exhibited change through intense battles that pushed their wielders—otherwise known as Accordants—to their limits in battle with each other.
Nereus: Ragazzo, who is Auditor Terzo and one of Navis's main combatants, engaged Feather in battle.
Ragazzo: I don't care if I'm praying to a god or a devil...
Ragazzo: Just let me win thiiis!
Feather: What... is this?
Ragazzo: Hehehe! I can feel the power surging from the depths of my body!
Ragazzo: Aah... I should've known sooner that Crimson Finger had this kind of power inside it...
Nereus: An exchange between two Accordants at their utmost limits is what triggers a Horoscope's harmonization. And that was Navis's aim all along.
Ferdinand: Now, it's time for the harvest!
Ragazzo: Ah... Aaaah!
Ferdinand: I'm sorry. It hurts, doesn't it? But I had to sever your entire hand. Same trick as preparing chicken, you see.
Ferdinand: Ah... Splendid. As expected of my son.
Nereus: Let us move on, shall we? No need to dwell on their tasteless acts.
Nereus: Navis is led by three Chairmen. One of them is Ferdinand.
Nereus: He showed no hesitation in prying the Crimson Finger from Ragazzo—a direct subordinate who looked up to Ferdinand as a father.
Nereus: Ragazzo is the Vergine and currently remains unconscious on the airship of (Captain)'s crew.
Nereus: Now then, let us narrow the focus down to specific individuals whose exact circumstances are known to only a few.
Nereus: Are there any stars you're interested in?
  1. Feather and Randall.
  2. Cupitan and Tristette.
  3. Tikoh, Kolulu, and Troue.
  4. Anyone else?

Choose: Feather and Randall.
Nereus: They represent the Leone and Acquario signs, respectively.
Nereus: Being both childhood friends and rivals, the nature of their relationship changed the moment they set foot on Stella Island.
Feather: Ragazzo... I've trained all this time so that I can win against him!
Randall: There we go.
Nereus: Ragazzo's very existence motivated Feather to train harder, and Randall was in turn motivated by the sight of Feather's transformation.
Nereus: It was I who granted them the rank of Accordants.
Nereus: I shall give you one more thing.
Feather: I wanna be strong... Stronger and stronger!
Lion Khan Claw: ...
Feather: You mean... you can help me get stronger?
Feather: Lion Khan Claw... Forsake the sheep of old and become the lion of this day!
Nereus: Joyeuse...
Nereus: This sacred blade weaves the future. It has responded to your will and now takes on a different color... a different shape.
Randall: Heh, whatever! At the end of the day, I couldn't care less what your motives are!
Randall: I'll just have to come up with my own reasons for using this thing!
Randall: Joyeuse... Kick off the ebony eagle and soar to the blue yonder!
Nereus: Feather was driven by a mad thirst for strength, and Randall simply wished to be able to keep up.
Nereus: As newly appointed Accordants, the two forged bonds anew through their battle with Ragazzo.
Nereus: As for Ragazzo himself...
Nereus: Perhaps his tale will progress along with theirs once he awakens.
Nereus: Can I interest you in any other stars?
  1. Feather and Randall.
  2. Cupitan and Tristette.
  3. Tikoh, Kolulu, and Troue.
  4. Anyone else?

Choose: Cupitan and Tristette.
Choose: Cupitan and Tristette.
Nereus: Cupitan—Accordant of the Rainbow Bow. Capable of visualizing and manipulating others' emotions.
Nereus: Her sign is Pesci. It goes without mentioning that the compatibility there is remarkable.
Nereus: Her childhood friend Tristette, who was kidnapped and brainwashed by Navis, appeared before the crew.
Nereus: It was then that a certain truth was laid bare.
Tristette: There is no brainwashing.
Cupitan: What?
Young Cupitan: Let's run away together! With the both of us, I'm sure we'll be just fine!
Young Tristette: Yeah...
Tristette: I hated it.
Tristette: Truth is, you were the one who was always looking down on me, the pitiful monster.
Young Cupitan: Zzz...
Young Tristette: See you, Cupitan.
Tristette: I didn't want to spend my entire life getting looked down on by you.
Tristette: Navis wanted me, so I thought it was the perfect chance to rise to the top and look down on you instead.
Nereus: Tristette left Cupitan of her own will and became an Auditor, rising to the rank of Secondo.
Nereus: As the Slarnd's Accordant, the decision born of complex emotions was most fitting for the Scorpione.
Nereus: However, Cupitan refused to face the reality of Tristette's departure.
Young Cupitan: No way... This can't be true!
Young Cupitan: Prism Arrow... Let this be a prayer to the child of caprice, and link us to a hueless dream.
Young Cupitan: Prism Arrow... Link us to a dream of golden, ruby, and emerald hue.
Young Cupitan: ...!
Nereus: Cupitan stabbed herself with a Prism Arrow to rewrite her emotions and memories... In other words, she brainwashed herself.
Nereus: Was she mad, you ask? No, she was perfectly sane.
Nereus: Having served as the sacred maiden of her village from a young age, Cupitan saw Tristette as her first friend.
Nereus: It's no wonder she felt so attached.
Nereus: Cupitan was likely also Tristette's first friend as well.
Nereus: Though she is currently blessed with a new friend known as Tikoh and travels as a member of (Captain)'s crew.
Cupitan: Let's take a dip in the water next! Can you swim, Ris?
Nereus: However, Cupitan pretending that (Captain) is Tristette shows how warped her reality has become.
Nereus: It remains to be seen how Cupitan's devotion and Tristette's animosity will interweave going forward.

Choose: Tikoh, Kolulu, and Troue.
Choose: Tikoh, Kolulu, and Troue.
Nereus: Tikoh is a traveling doctor and the Asclepius Rod's Accordant.
Nereus: Her sign situation is a bit complicated. Tikoh started out as the Ophiuchus, but after fusing with Shannon's soul...
Nereus: She's settled on Gemelli.
Nereus: I won't elaborate on Shannon's soul or her feud with Ferdinand here, but...
Nereus: On Stella Island, Tikoh had what should have been the perfect opportunity to exact revenge on Ferdinand.
Tikoh: Let's continue the "operation" from last time!
Ferdinand: Shannon... Ah wait, maybe it should be Dr. Tikoh. Do you really have time to spare on me right now?
Ferdinand: Aren't you a doctor? Shouldn't you be prioritizing dying patients first?
Tikoh: What?
Ferdinand: Do what you want. But there isn't much time left.
Tikoh: Agh...
Tikoh: Aaaah!
Nereus: The good doctor's self-respect and dignity won out, and she chose to prioritize a patient's life over revenge.
Nereus: Truly remarkable, I must say. Though I imagine it left a bad taste in her mouth.
Tikoh: Ferdinand... I thought we'd finally tracked him down.
Tikoh: This all happened because I saved that thing's life... That's how I ended getting myself... and Mom and Dad... killed.
Tikoh: Before that man escaped, he said to me, "You are a doctor through and through." As if he was mocking me.
Tikoh: I was so frustrated... I hated it so much. I had to keep doing something... in order to stop myself from thinking about it and going crazy.
Nereus: Being only nineteen years old, she still had her whole life ahead of her. The loving support of her friends alleviated her anxieties.
Tikoh: Thank you... All of you helped me feel much better. I won't have to push myself anymore.
Tikoh: With you here... to support me...
Nereus: Time will tell whether Tikoh and Shannon continue going down the path of vengeance.
Nereus: Moving on... I suppose I should touch upon Kolulu and Troue as well.
Nereus: Kolulu is a simplehearted, adorable little glutton who wields the Gisla.
Kolulu: Um... Manamel, would it be okay if I tagged along on your shopping trip today?
Manamel: Sure, why not.
Nereus: When out shopping for accessories with Manamel, Kolulu shows another part of herself.
Kolulu: But... I feel bad that they bought me the bracelet as an apology. Maybe I shouldn't have accepted it...
Manamel: Of course you should've. Being cute is all about desire. You take what you can get.
Kolulu: Heheh. I'll be sure to wear this on special occasions. I'll treasure it!
Nereus: She remains oblivious to the fact that Navis was involved in burning down her hometown.
Nereus: Troue is a knight of a fallen kingdom who possesses the power to trace the memories of objects.
Princess Celine: As you may have already guessed, Troue loses all his memories when he awakens in the morning.
Princess Celine: Two years ago, he fell into a pit filled with phantomblooms and lost consciousness. He inhaled their poison the entire time until he was found.
Princess Celine: He managed to escape with his life, but the aftereffects cause him to lose most of his memories overnight.
Princess Celine: Every morning, he has to use his Gift of Visions to recover them one by one.
Nereus: The death of Princess Celine led him to leave the old castle and travel with (Captain)'s crew.
Nereus: His Horoscope is the Durandal.
Troue: This is the sacred blade Durandal, once wielded by a hero named Roland.
Troue: Durandal was one of the antiques that belonged to the father of the princess I served.
Troue: Her Highness gifted it to me, saying that a sword containing memories of a hero could prove useful.
Troue: I trained myself by imitating the memories residing in Durandal, and eventually managed to become recognized as a knight myself.
Nereus: The capabilities of their Horoscopes remain unknown at this point in time. Though it would appear that seeds are being sown for a big reveal.

Choose: Anyone else?
Choose: Anyone else?
Nereus: Yes, let's turn our attention to the others.
Nereus: How about these stars?
  1. Manamel.
  2. Fiorito, Judah, and Morilynn.
  3. Lavirita and Nereus.
  4. I've seen enough.

Choose: Manamel.
Nereus: Manamel—the Vegalta's Accordant and a new star in this story.
Nereus: She's the Ariete and fixates on all things cute.
Nereus: (Captain)'s crew first meets her in the middle of an assignment.
Manamel: Oh em gee...
Manamel: Vega.
Vegalta: ...
Nereus: The dagger Vegalta acts autonomously, tending to Manamel's needs and fighting to protect her.
Nereus: Here you can see its tip rummaging through Manamel's bag to find her makeup.
Vyrn: Whoa, your dagger does that too? That's crazy!
Vyrn: What do ya need to fix your makeup for though? We're in the middle of a forest...
Manamel: Are you kidding? What if my sister-boo sees me when I'm not looking my super cutest?
Lyria: Sister... boo?
Manamel: Yep. My goddess!
Manamel: She's like the most beautiful, kindest, strongest older sister ever!
Manamel: We got separated, and now it's pretty much my point in life to find her again.
Lyria: I see! So you're on a journey to find your sister.
Manamel: That's right. And I could literally bump into her, like, anywhere, right?
Manamel: So I gotta look my super cutest at all times, in case I happen to run into her when I least expect it.
Nereus: Though she had been traveling alone up until then, she found herself getting closer to the crew.
Nereus: Listen to Manamel recount the time she got separated from her sister.
Manamel: My mom and dad belonged to the Aquatic Acolytes and were never home.
Manamel: But I didn't really care. I had my older sister.
Manamel: All my earliest memories center around her—taking care of me. Loving me.
Manamel: My sister-boo was also an Aquatic Acolyte and left for their congregations at sunrise. But she always came back in the evenings.
Manamel: Then she'd cook for us, play with me, and gently tuck me into bed.
Manamel: "You're so cute, Manamel."
Those encouraging words from her were my world—my everything.
Manamel: My sister-boo warned me against going out. So afternoons, I'd stay in my room, studying up on how to be cute.
Manamel: I'd look forward to showing her what I'd learned that day when she came home.
Manamel: But then, gradually... my sister-boo started coming home later and later. Strange tattoos started appearing all over her body.
Manamel: Finally, one humid and rainy day, my world collapsed.
Manamel: Mom and Dad came home all of a sudden, soaking wet from the rain. Then, they hung themselves right in front of me.
Manamel: Turned out the Aquatic Acolytes were gone, and along with them, my parents' will to live.
Manamel: But whatever. The only thing I cared about was whether my sister-boo, who'd gone to the congregation that day, was okay.
Manamel: I was dying to know. But I didn't want to disobey my sister-boo, so I forced myself to wait at home.
Manamel: Days passed, and she still wasn't back. The rain outside was never-ending.
Manamel: I finally finished the food my sister-boo had made for me before she left. Tears continued to run down my cheeks as I savored the last bite.
Manamel: My sister-boo was my world. She was my goddess. If she was gone from these skies, then I'd have no reason to be here either...
Manamel: But... the moment I thought that, Vegalta suddenly appeared before me.
Manamel: And for some reason, I felt it was my sister-boo telling me to find her, and to use the dagger to fight.
Manamel: I looked up someone connected to the Aquatic Acolytes and asked him about my sister-boo.
Manamel: That's when I was told that "the priestess had gone on a journey."
Manamel: That's how I started my own journey, and now here I am.
Nereus: She's since joined (Captain)'s crew and vows to do whatever it takes to find her sister.
Nereus: Though cute she may be, her fate will lead her down a dangerous path.
Nereus: You think every star is too heavyhearted? Well, I believe you have it backwards.
Nereus: Intense emotions are paramount for Accordant candidates to be recognized by a Horoscope.
Nereus: Can I interest you in any other stars?
  1. Manamel.
  2. Fiorito, Judah, and Morilynn.
  3. Lavirita and Nereus.
  4. I've seen enough.

Choose: Fiorito, Judah, and Morilynn.
Choose: Fiorito, Judah, and Morilynn.
Nereus: Fiorito—a young woman who trains her muscles in the most logical way possible and is the Sphairai's Accordant.
Fiorito: Ahh! I can feel the muscle fibers stretching to their limits... It hurts, doesn't it, Rosa!
Fiorito: Yes, pain! It proves that you're alive! How's the water tasting, Rosa? Is it getting that florigen going?
Fiorito: Beautiful, Rosa! The soil makes all the difference! Come on, you can do it, Rosaaa!
Nereus: Fiorito has her reasons for giving her muscles a name and talking to them.
Nereus: As Auditor Sesto...
Nereus: She has infiltrated (Captain)'s crew on an undercover mission for Navis.
Nereus: However, she isn't entirely devoted to Navis.
Young Fiorito: Dad! Why... What happened?
Judah: Fio... This book you love so much... I left a bookmark in it...
Judah: I want you to go to the place written on that page...
Judah: And then... you need to run from Navis...
Young Fiorito: What are you talking about, Dad... I don't get it!
Judah: Cough!
Judah: I'm really... sorry.
Nereus: Her father got caught up in the machinations of Navis and lost his life.
Nereus: With revenge in her heart, Fiorito joined Navis to learn more about the organization.
Nereus: Fiorito wavered between continuing down the path of revenge or joining (Captain)'s crew.
Nereus: After careful deliberation, she chose both: resuming her duties as an Auditor while also skyfaring alongside (Captain) and company.
Nereus: However...
Judah: The legendary ship Argo Navis has already set sail.
Judah: And the Accordants are the main stars in this legend.
Ferdinand: In other words... marionettes that can't but move according to what is in the playbook.
Judah: How utterly boring.
Nereus: Fiorito's father, who was thought to be dead all along, turned out to be a Navis Chairman.
Nereus: Will Fiorito be able to cope upon discovering this truth?
Nereus: And we have another star presenting themselves to Fiorito and Judah.
Morilynn: I am quite a flower aficionado myself, milady. Is it all right if I call you that? Or perhaps we can just be "blossom buddies" if you prefer.
Fiorito: I don't think I know you like that, but, uh... Sorry, what did you say your name was?
Morilynn: If you are referring to my designated title, there are some who know me as Morilynn. I haven't decided on a second one yet.
Feena: So do you go by Morry for short? Or do you prefer Lynn?
Morilynn: Whichever one is fine. I do find myself rather fluid nowadays.
Morilynn: I am no more than Morry.
Yet I am no less than Lynn.

By Morilynn.
Fiorito: So, uh, which one is it?
Morilynn: Oh, a moth.
Fiorito: A moth?
Morilynn: And there it goes. I do think I'll follow it for a while.
Morilynn: Until next time.
Feena: Huh, I thought it was a butterfly. How're they supposed to keep up in those shoes anyway?
Fiorito: Yeah, those heels were pretty high... what a mysterious person.
Nereus: The one Fiorito crossed paths with was Morilynn...
Nereus: An acquaintance of Judah's.
Morilynn: Peekaboo. You didn't call me but I have arrived. It is I, Morilynn.
Judah: Welcome back, Morilynn. Please refrain from using the ceiling as an entrance.
Morilynn: Oops. Shall I undergo another human modification as an apology? Or perhaps... something more equine?
Judah: Equi—When... and how did you find out about that?
Morilynn: About Sagittario? Or the defect in artificial flowers?
Judah: Defects? Don't be preposterous.
Nereus: Morilynn is the Sagittario. It's possible that they are an Accordant as well.

Choose: Lavirita and Nereus.
Choose: Lavirita and Nereus.
Nereus: Lavirita—the Bird Eye's Accordant and Auditor Quinto.
Nereus: The tradesman's eyes are the same deep green hue as his Horoscope, and they leave a lasting impression.
Nereus: Fitting, since his businesslike demeanor belies the promiscuity of his youth.
Nereus: The Horoscope is a perfect match for one of the Toro sign, who stops at nothing for money.
Nereus: However, Lavirita's personal policy is to only deal in fair trades and refrain from unscrupulous practices.
Nereus: Although he proved somewhat disloyal to Navis after being bought off by Fiorito, where his true intentions lie is a mystery.
Nereus: Truth be told, I did cross paths with him after that.
Lavirita: I must admit that it was a rather strange request from you, but the compensation was appealing enough.
Lavirita: Who are you really?
Nereus: ...
Lavirita: I understand it is prohibited to pry into the details of clients. However, I also have an agreement with the group I work for.
Lavirita: If there is nothing you can tell me, may I at least have your name?
Nereus: The observer peers into the telescope and makes various speculations on who I am—a primal beast, or perhaps a dragon.
Lavirita: I apologize for my ignorance, but who may this "observer" you are referring to be?
Nereus: The observer is not specific. It is one and many.
Lavirita: I fail to see your point. How, then, shall I call you?
Nereus: You may call me... Nereus.
Nereus: That would be the most appropriate.
Lavirita: ...
Lavirita: (It is obvious that this person and Manamel are both Accordants. Why is Navis choosing to neglect them?)
Lavirita: (What could the constellation's final destination be?)
Nereus: Here is the compensation for your services, as promised. It should be more than what was agreed upon in the contract.
Lavirita: Your munificence is appreciated, but the amount in the contract will be enough for me. A personal policy, if you will.
Nereus: We shall cross paths again—before your gun meets its fate.
Lavirita: Yes. I look forward to your patronage.
Nereus: That was when I started calling myself Nereus.
Nereus: A name is nothing more than a label. And "Nereus" is a far more convenient label than simply "priestess."
Nereus: And I happen to be very fond of the Nereus Staff—a weapon blessed by the sea god.

Choose: I've seen enough.
Choose: I've seen enough.
Nereus: Does that give you a clearer picture of the celestial sphere? As beautiful as the night sky may be, it can also be incredibly intricate and complex.
Nereus: May this constellation chart help you reach a fuller understanding.
Nereus: Till we meet again under the unmoving starry sky.
