The son of the last Goblin King. Born on Moria Island, he lived among fellow goblins while receiving an education from his father and Eagon. His language and intelligence are clearly different from other goblins, most likely inherited from his father, who possessed the qualities of a Goblin King. The name Algol was chosen by Eagon to encourage smooth relations with man in the future; it was once used by the Menean ruling family in the times when Goran, the first Goblin King, was still man himself.
Algol's exceptional intelligence prompted him to be the only one in his clan to doubt his father's intentions for goblin and man. Once his father rose to the throne, however, the strength that came with that convinced Algol to go, if reluctantly, along with them.
After many twists and turns, Algol decided to follow his father's footsteps and become the new leader of his clan. For now, he continues his journey across the skies in order to fulfill his father's, and now his own, wish of establishing peace between goblin and man.
