Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Opening

Conan, Ran, Kogorō, and Amuro visit Doctor Agasa's place to help playtest his new VR game. They boot up the game to find themselves in a mansion populated by a burly detective and his assistant, and then discuss the invitation from a Phantom Thief S in their pockets. It isn't long before the ground suddenly disappears, and the four are sent falling.

Ran Mōri: ...
Ran Mōri: Haaah!
Donning large goggles that cover half her face, Ran thrusts a fist forward while standing on a black mat, special devices tied to her feet all the while.
Ran is playing a fighting game in virtual reality.
Ai Haibara: You're really into it, Ran-san.
Conan Edogawa: That's for sure.
Conan and Ai are watching from a sofa.
Conan Edogawa: But, Doc, why even make a VR game to begin with?
The doctor's face peeks out from between the surveillance monitors.
Doctor Agasa: A man representing a game company was very pleased with my invention.
Doctor Agasa: He came to me with the offer of co-developing a next-generation title where I can exercise my creativity to break new ground in the world of video games.
Ai Haibara: And what Doc came up with is the controller that Ran-san's using and the full-body scan system.
Ai Haibara: It scans your body as the game boots up, and you get to control your very own avatar in-game—nearly identical to the real you.
Ai Haibara: You control your character through the gravity mat on the ground as the sensors attached to your feet track your movement.
Conan Edogawa: I'm kinda surprised to see Doc go all out for an invention for once.
Ai Haibara: This device stimulates your senses through physical pressure—it even sends electric currents for the sensation of pain—allowing for unparalleled realism with the controls.
Ai Haibara: If this kid I know were to try out a fighting game like this, they'd be in for a world of hurt.
Conan Edogawa: Hah, look who's talking.
Ai Haibara: Yawn...
Conan Edogawa: Anyhoo, weren't we supposed to be testing out some puzzle-solving VR game today?
Conan Edogawa: Something about wanting to sell a hardcore mystery VR title supervised by the great detective Kogorō Mōri himself.
Doctor Agasa: Correct. I focused on making this game feel realistic to give the sensation that you're really there.
Ai Haibara: Simple solve-the-puzzle gimmicks alone would get boring pretty fast, so they put in some action bits in the confrontation with the perpetrator.
Doctor Agasa: Mm-hm! This game is designed to keep you on the edge of your seat—figuratively, of course—at all times!
Conan Edogawa: Hmm...
Ai Haibara: It wasn't easy putting everything together. That fighting game Ran-san's playing was actually made as a side project to make sure the action system works well for this game.
Doctor Agasa: We even made an exploration game to test our limits with level design in VR! And even that's looking mighty fine so far!
Conan Edogawa: Sounds like you took quite a few detours in development to get this game up and running...
Ai Haibara: No thanks to that, I've had to help out for days on end now. Haven't had much sleep lately.
Doctor Agasa: My apologies, Ai-kun... But I must say I'm truly grateful for all your help.
Ran: Aaagh!
Ran Mōri: I did it! I beat them all!
Doctor Agasa: Ho ho ho, perhaps it was a tad bit too easy for Ran-kun.
Doctor Agasa walks over to Ran and removes the belt tied around her waist.
Ran Mōri: That was so much fun! It's as if I was really fighting someone!
Ran Mōri: Huh? My dad's not here yet?
Conan Edogawa: Looks like he's late, huh.
Ran Mōri: I wonder if something happened. I'll give him a call.
Ran picks up the phone on the desk, punches speed-dial, then puts it to her ear.
Conan Edogawa: So, Haibara, are you gonna join us for the mystery VR? I mean, it's 4-player co-op, right?
Ai Haibara: I'll pass. I heard four of you would be coming over today anyway.
Conan Edogawa: The old man, Ran, me, and... was there someone else?
Ai Haibara: Psh, like I'd know. Yawn...
Ai Haibara: I barely got any sleep last night, so I'm gonna go catch myself some shut-eye.
After a loud yawn, Ai heads down the stairs to the basement.
Ran Mōri: My dad's almost here, he says.
Doctor Agasa: What say we get you scanned and ready to play before Mōri-kun gets here, Conan-kun?
Conan Edogawa: Sure thing.
Conan enters a device akin to a telephone booth and undergoes a full-body scan.
Doctor Agasa: Ooh, that must be him.
Doctor Agasa: Thanks for coming by, Mōri-kun.
Kogorō Mōri: Sorry I'm late. Had trouble getting this guy to come along...
The blonde man behind him politely nods.
Conan Edogawa: (Huh? Isn't he...)
Doctor Agasa: Ah, you must be the apprentice under Mōri-kun that I've been hearing about...
Tōru Amuro: Yes. The name's Tōru Amuro.
Tōru Amuro: Apologies for the lateness. It's really my fault.
Doctor Agasa: No worries about that. Not like we're in a hurry anyhow.
Ran Mōri: Aww, I hate thunder.
Tōru Amuro: It turned cloudy real fast these last few minutes. We'll probably be getting some light showers too.
Kogorō and Amuro get their full-body scans and join up with Conan and Ran.
Doctor Agasa: Ahem, now for your instructions.
Doctor Agasa: What you'll be playing is the mystery game Invitation from Phantom Thief S.
Doctor Agasa: Your goal is to seek out a hidden treasure in a mansion and protect it from said phantom thief.
Doctor Agasa: You will meet allies to help you on this adventure. Work with them to solve the mystery of the treasure.
Doctor Agasa: That's about it. Any questions?
Kogorō Mōri: It's faster to just get into the groove, so let's get to it.
Tōru Amuro: True enough. You never know until you try, as they say.
Kogorō Mōri: You're gonna watch me closely and pick up the ABC's of being a great detective.
Tōru Amuro: Of course, Detective Mōri! I'll be sure to keep my eyes wide open and learn everything I can from you today!
Doctor Agasa: All set to go?
Doctor Agasa: Good, then put on your goggles.
The Conan posse put on their goggles and let the good doctor fasten the straps for the sensors.
Conan Edogawa: It's starting!
Tōru Amuro: These are some nice graphics! Depth perception and lighting seem to be spot-on too.
Kogorō Mōri: Hey, how do we even walk in here?
Ran Mōri: Just move like you usually do. Try putting your right foot forward first.
Conan Edogawa: (My wristwatch and voice-changer are still on me... Can I use them as is?)
Detective: Holy guacamole! We got an invitation from a Phantom Thief S!
Detective: Blasted phantom thief! You're not getting away from me—not today, not ever!
Assistant: Detective, it looks like we're not the only ones who received the letter!
Detective: What? Who in the skies could that possibly be!
Assistant: Them! They did!
The assistant boldly points at Conan's group.
Ran Mōri: Huh? Did we get an invitation?
Detective: Ah, you guys, huh!
Kogorō Mōri: Look, I'm telling you we didn't get any invitation.
Assistant: Word is you guys are an ace group of private eyes! Phantom Thief S must be itching to have a direct confrontation with you.
Conan Edogawa: (This is supposed to be a game. No point responding to these NPCs.)
Detective: Since we've all picked up an invitation, what say we work together to overcome this challenge?
Assistant: Let's first get into the great hall just past the double doors. The treasure should be beyond that!
Detective: Okay! Follow me!
Detective: You're on, Phantom Thief S!
Ran Mōri: And off they go.
Ran Mōri: Are we supposed to follow them?
Conan Edogawa: Sure looks like it.
Tōru Amuro: Hey, there's something in Detective Mōri's pocket.
Kogorō Mōri: Hm? Where'd this envelope come from?
Tucked into Kogorō's pocket is an envelope which contains a card.
Tōru Amuro: "What a night to sneak into the worn-out mansion for the most precious of treasures."
-Phantom Thief S
Tōru Amuro: So this letter is what those NPCs were on about.
Ran Mōri: I guess we really did get an invitation. He just started blabbering on as if we already knew what was going on—sure had me startled.
Tōru Amuro: We have what we need. Let's go after those detectives.
Tōru slowly opens the door that the detective and the assistant passed through.
Ran Mōri: Huh? What is this?
Conan Edogawa: ...!
The ground!
All Four: Waah!
Shinichi Kudō: I'm Kudō Shinichi, resident high-school student and prime-time sleuth.
Shinichi Kudō: One day when I went to the amusement park with my childhood friend and classmate, Ran Mōri, I spotted men dressed in black engaged in shady dealings.
Shinichi Kudō: I got so caught up with what was going on before my very eyes that I didn't notice their partner sneaking up on me from behind.
Shinichi Kudō: The man poisoned me, and when I woke up...
Conan Edogawa: My body had shrunk!
Conan Edogawa: If they ever find out that I'm still alive, they'd surely come after me, which would only spell danger for those around me.
Conan Edogawa: I followed Doctor Agasa's advice and covered up my identity. Even to Ran, I revealed my new self to her as Conan Edogawa.
Conan Edogawa: To find out more about the knaves who poisoned me, I went to live with Ran since her dad works as a detective.
Conan Edogawa: Using the doc's many wonderful contraptions, I've been able to go on cases pretending to be Kogorō.
Conan Edogawa: The old man's made his name as a famous detective. He's even got an apprentice to boot.
Conan Edogawa: One by the name of Tōru Amuro.
Conan Edogawa: He works part-time at Cafe Poirot, located right under the Mōri Detective Agency, while accompanying the old man on cases during off-hours.
Conan Edogawa: But his true identity is that of a capable agent working for the police.
Conan Edogawa: Even though I've become small, my unbeaten detective brain is the same.
Conan Edogawa: There's always only one truth!

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 1: Help from the Sky Realm - Episode 1

Upon landing, Conan and friends find themselves in a room no different from the one before—with (Captain) and a few others added to the mix this time. Though surprised that Barawa and Sarya don't recognize them from before the fall, Conan's group decides to work with the crew to uncover the mansion's mysterious treasure and foil Phantom Thief Chat Noir's plot.

Conan Edogawa: Oof!
Conan Edogawa: Ow... What just happened?
Ran Mōri: Is this the same room as before?
Kogorō Mōri: Sure looks like it. Is everyone okay?
Conan Edogawa: Of course we are. This is just a game after all.
Tōru Amuro: I do feel pain though. I'm surprised at how realistic it all feels.
Ran Mōri: Can we keep going like this? The game's not malfunctioning or something, is it?
Kogorō Mōri: If something were up, the doc would stop the game for sure.
Vyrn: Whoa, who do we have here?
Kogorō Mōri: What's with this flying lizard?
Vyrn: Gah, I ain't no lizard!
Vyrn: Where'd you guys come in from anyway?
Ran Mōri: Um, from the entrance...
Lyria: Wasn't the mansion door locked when we came in, (Captain)?
(Captain) nods while staring at Conan and his friends.
Conan Edogawa: (Wait, are we having an actual conversation now?)
Tōru Amuro: ...
Eager to try something out, Amuro switches from a scowl to a simper.
Tōru Amuro: My apologies. We had no intention of startling you.
Tōru Amuro: We're a group of detectives who've come here after receiving an invitation from a phantom thief.
Ran Mōri: A-Amuro-san?
Tōru Amuro: Ran-san, we're in the middle of a game here. Might as well go all out to catch this phantom thief.
Tōru Amuro: We locked the door behind us to prevent the phantom thief from getting in. Believe me when I say we meant no ill will by it.
Vyrn: So that's what happened. Sure caught me by surprise.
Tōru Amuro: Did you all get the invitation as well?
Vyrn: Nah, it was our own detective, Barawa, who got the invitation. We're the help.
Tōru Amuro: I see. If it's not too much of a bother, can you take us to see Barawa-san?
Vyrn: Sure thing. Right this way!
Tōru Amuro: Now we're making progress. Let's follow them.
Kogorō Mōri: Sigh, I'm just glad we won't be falling again.
Conan Edogawa: (They're suddenly able to hold a conversation... Not to mention those natural facial expressions they're making with zero time lag...)
Conan Edogawa: (This might be normal for games nowadays, but it seems too drastic a change from what we were seeing earlier.)
Tōru Amuro: Conan-kun.
Conan Edogawa: Yeah, I'll be right with you.
Conan Edogawa: (Working with Amuro-san to gather info comes first.)
Despite their misgivings, Conan and Amuro decide to carry on.
However, the reaction from Barawa and Sarya in the hallway earlier further arouses suspicion.
Barawa: You're saying we've met before?
Ran Mōri: Yeah, only minutes ago. Surely you haven't forgotten already?
Sarya: Sorry... I'm usually good at remembering faces, but...
Vyrn: Okay, I'm hearing two completely different stories, and I have no idea which one to believe...
Conan Edogawa: Ran, what do you think? Don't the detective and his assistant seem different from before?
Ran Mōri: Now that you mention it, they do seem calmer and easier to talk to.
Conan Edogawa: Maybe the Barawa-san and Sarya-san we bumped into earlier were actually other people?
Barawa: Hmm...
Barawa: Could be a ploy set up by Phantom Thief Chat Noir.
Conan Edogawa: (Come again?)
Sarya: Detective, transforming into two people seems an impossible task even for the masterfully deceptive Chat Noir.
Sarya: And given how funny his mannequins talk, there's no way they'd ever pass for us.
Barawa: ...
Barawa: True. Also Chat Noir was never the type to walk around with underlings out in the open...
Conan furtively draws out the invitation from Kogorō's pocket.
Conan Edogawa: (What's the meaning of this?)
Barawa: Urk! What in tarnation is that foul scent?
Sarya tracks the scent to the card in Conan's hand.
Sarya: Um, about that thing you're holding...
Conan Edogawa: It's an invitation.
Conan Edogawa: From Chat Noir.
Tōru Amuro: ...!
Barawa: Oh? Can I take a look?
Conan readily hands over the invitation to Barawa.
Sarya: This is the real deal. It has his signature perfume, and the written message is the same as what you had gotten.
Barawa: I have a lot of questions swimming in my head... But the fact that you received one of these clears you of any suspicion.
Kogorō Mōri: As if that wasn't obvious enough.
Vyrn: Hey, what's with the attitude!
Ran Mōri: I'm sorry... My father just happens to have a dirty mouth. Please don't take offense.
Barawa: Hah hah hah! We should apologize as well, as we were the first to cast suspicion!
An armored woman stands beside (Captain), equally apologetic.
Katalina: We may not have gotten off on the greatest start, and I apologize for that.
Kogorō Mōri: (Woo! She's b-b-byootiful!)
Sarya: So, Detective, now that we've verified their invitation, don't you think we should all be working together?
Barawa: You just spoke my mind, Sarya.
Well then, care to tell us your names?
Kogorō Mōri: ...
Katalina: Did you have something to say to me?
Kogorō Mōri: Ah! Erm, what was everyone talking about again?
Katalina: Barawa was wondering if we could have your assistance in catching this phantom thief.
Kogorō Mōri: Most gladly!
Kogorō swiftly advances toward Katalina and takes her right hand.
Kogorō Mōri: Leave it to yours truly—the great detective Kogorō Mōri—to handle any requests you may have!
Kogorō Mōri: My dear mademoiselle...
Conan Edogawa: (Sigh... There he goes again.)
Katalina: A-ahem, that is most reassuring.
Katalina: I have no qualms with us working together. What do you say, (Captain)?
  1. Sounds fun.
  2. I dunno...

Choose: I dunno...
Vyrn: I get the need to be cautious, but considering they managed to open the lock to the door themselves, we're probably better off working together.
Lyria: I agree. They don't seem like such bad people after all...
(Captain) is of the same mind.
Choose: Sounds fun.
Barawa: It's settled then! Let's show that phantom thief firsthand what our combined deductive greatness is capable of!
Barawa: We'll get you soon enough, Phantom Thief Chat Noir!
Sarya: Wait for me, Detective!
With Barawa and Kogorō in the lead, the sleuthing retinue ventures further into the mansion.
Tōru Amuro: (The invitation itself is exactly the same, save for the different name of the sender. Could it be an in-game bug?)
Running last in the group, Amuro gets the invitation back from Sarya and slips it into his pocket.

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 1: Help from the Sky Realm - Episode 2

Following self-introductions, Kogorō infers Katalina to be the crew's captain. Conan and Amuro impress all by correcting him, explaining that Katalina is merely Lyria's guardian while (Captain) is the true captain.

Self-introductions ensue as all proceed down the passage to the great hall.
Barawa: So, Kogorō, you have an apprentice, I see! How wonderful it must be.
Kogorō Mōri: You go about acing one case after another, and it's only a matter of time until you end up with an apprentice or two.
Sarya: Do you get a new case every day? We hardly get any clients even though the office is always open...
Tōru Amuro: Everyone knows Detective Mōri where we're from.
Vyrn: Yeah? First time I've heard the name though.
Tōru Amuro: Well, we come from Beika City, which is really far away from here.
Ran Mōri: Amuro-san, I'm impressed with how quickly you took to them.
Conan Edogawa: That's for sure.
Conan Edogawa: (Though I'm more impressed with how the old man blends in so well with them already.)
Tōru Amuro: I'd say that's enough about us. Can we have your self-introductions next?
Barawa: I'm the resident gumshoe, Barawa. Chat Noir, the Phantom Thief, and I have been at odds forever...
Barawa: I came all the way to this remote island to catch him for good this time.
Sarya: And I'm Sarya, his assistant.
Lyria: I'm Lyria.
Vyrn: Name's Vyrn. My pal right here is (Captain).
Katalina: You can call me Katalina. I'm no detective, but I'm skilled with a sword.
Katalina: If we fall under danger, you can rely on me.
Kogorō Mōri: For such a wonderful lady to be endowed with peerless talent in addition to beauty is a true gift.
Lyria: I think so too! Katalina's so kind, caring, and strong. And she always protects us!
Katalina: Stop it, Lyria. You're making me blush.
Conan Edogawa: So you ladies aren't in a detective team then?
Katalina: Indeed. We're not a detective team, but we do share the same ship as a skyfaring crew.
Kogorō Mōri: So you travel together! How splendid!
Kogorō Mōri: But, Katalina-san, it can't be easy leading this "crew" at such a young age.
Katalina: Me? Leading the crew?
Kogorō Mōri: No need to hide it. It's as clear as day to me.
Katalina: Erm, you seem to have the wrong idea. I am not the captain.
Kogorō Mōri: Oh, really?
Conan Edogawa: Rather than captain, I think it'd be more accurate to say...
Conan Edogawa: That Katalina-san is Lyria-san's guardian.
Lyria and Katalina: Huh?
Lyria: What a surprise... How did you know?
Conan Edogawa: Katalina-san's always by your side as if she's trying to protect you from something.
Conan Edogawa: And it's pretty clear that you look up to her on a level far beyond friends.
Katalina: You figured it out so easily...
Amuro nonchalantly approaches (Captain).
Tōru Amuro: This is just a guess, but...
Tōru Amuro: I take it you're the captain?
  1. How'd you...
  2. Bingo!

Choose: How'd you...
Choose: Bingo!
Vyrn: Few people ever guess that on their first shot! Most just see (Captain) as another teen!
Tōru Amuro: I just put two and two together really.
Tōru Amuro: Well, if you're not a detective agency, that would leave Barawa-san and Sarya-san out of your inner circle.
Tōru Amuro: Katalina-san's splendid armor may give her the appearance of a captain...
Tōru Amuro: But she looked to (Captain) for a decision. Katalina-san would not do that if she were captain.
Conan Edogawa: Besides I'd say (Captain)-san is just as skilled as Katalina-san with a sword.
Conan Edogawa: The stride gives it all away. Must be some sword-fighter's thing.
Ran Mōri: You sure know a lot about that, Conan-kun.
Conan Edogawa: I saw a show about it on TV... Ahaha...
Vyrn: Color me impressed. You're getting it all correct...
Sarya: They see through us by every little move we make. Isn't it amazing, Detective?
Barawa: Yeah, I was just about to say.
Barawa: But if the apprentice is this sharp, why would the master, Kogorō, guess wrong?
Tōru Amuro: Detective Mōri was only testing me.
Tōru Amuro: He wanted me to figure out which one of you is the captain. Katalina not being in charge was just a freebie he threw in.
Tōru Amuro: He acted surprised so as not to reveal his true purpose.
Tōru Amuro: Right, Detective?
Kogorō Mōri: Yes, of course...
Ran Mōri: Should've told us, Dad.
Katalina: I am humbled to be able to work with such talented people.
Katalina: Your thoughtfulness for your apprentice is most gallant, Kogorō.
Kogorō Mōri: Heh, just doing what any good gumshoe would do!
Kogorō Mōri: Nwahahaha!
Conan Edogawa: (Shucks, there he goes again...)
Kogorō's delightful chortle echoes across the dimly-lit hallway.

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 1: Help from the Sky Realm - Episode 3

The crew finds mannequins lined up along a hallway and discuss how odd it is that the attention-seeking Phantom Thief Chat Noir would go after such a minor treasure. Carolina, Daniela, Leila, and Nelly—four girls calling themselves Candle Investigations—show up to watch a confrontation between Barawa and Chat Noir.

Lyria: Hey, Katalina, what are these things lined up along the hallway?
Along the sides of the hallway are mannequins outfitted with breastplates and gauntlets, each facing straight ahead as if keeping watch.
Katalina: Hm, I've never seen anything like this.
Sarya: Rumors say that a mechanical craftsman used this mansion as a research facility a hundred years ago.
Sarya: The facility was shut down before the craftsman passed away, so it's not clear what was being made here.
Katalina: Perhaps these mannequins were made as part of that research.
Lyria: I wonder what kind of treasure would be hidden in such a place.
Sarya: Something's been on my mind about that.
Sarya: The fact that this mansion used to be a research facility is a well-known fact among the residents of the island...
Sarya: But no one seems to know about the treasure hidden here.
Lyria: Oh, that's news to me.
Sarya: Which is why it strikes me as odd that Chat Noir would bother with the treasure here.
Barawa: I was wondering the same thing.
Barawa: That rapscallion loves to stand out. It's not like him at all to go for a treasure no one knows or cares about.
Ran and Conan engage in their own little conversation behind the others.
Ran Mōri: From research facilities to mannequins... Looks like we already have a few key themes in place.
Conan Edogawa: Maybe that's just what we need to solve this puzzle.
Tōru Amuro: Indeed. These people helping us on this case hold the key to this mystery.
As they reach the end of the hall, four figures come into view before the door.
Haughty Woman: Oh dear, who are those classy gentlemen before us?
Kogorō Mōri: Barawa-san, do you know them?
Barawa: Ah, right, I haven't mentioned them yet.
Barawa: They're an agency of their own. I had them scout ahead; I can vouch for them.
Barawa explains that he met this group of four PI's calling themselves Candle Investigations at the mansion entrance earlier.
Although they did not receive an invitation, they decided to pay a visit to watch the confrontation between detective and phantom thief.
Carolina: I'm Carolina, leader of Candle Investigations.
Carolina: We've been Barawa and Chat Noir's biggest fans ever since we first heard about them.
Daniela: And I'm Daniela. I just had to come along as a Barawa fan.
Leila: Leila here. I'd say I'm more of a Chat Noir fan.
Nelly: Nelly... Sup.
Conan's group proceed with their own self-introductions.
Carolina: You must be the other great detective who picked up an invitation.
Carolina: I had someone far younger in mind.
Kogorō Mōri: Hey, let's not get judgmental, okay?
Conan Edogawa: Miss, how did you know there were exactly two invitations sent out?
Carolina: Huh? Erm, well...
Leila: We carried out our own investigation! Don't forget we're detectives in our own right too!
Tōru Amuro: That so? Are you well-known around these parts?
Carolina: We've started the business only recently, so we're quite a ways from reaching true fame.
Barawa: They effortlessly solved the puzzle and opened the door to this mansion.
Barawa: Their talent as fellow private eyes is nothing to scoff at, which is why I had them join us.
Tōru Amuro: I see.
Ran Mōri: Why do you girls call yourselves Candle Investigations?
Carolina: Teehee, I'm glad you asked.
Carolina: Like a candle flickering in the darkness, we aim to shine the torch of truth upon any and all mysteries...
Carolina: That's our motto and our name represents that.
Conan Edogawa: (Something reeks about them...)
Carolina: We like to carry a little something around to signify our bonds as fellow investigators.
Carolina produces a candle from out of her pouch.
Carolina: Here, consider this a token of our newfound friendship.
Ran Mōri: Ah!
The candle slips through Ran's fingers, breaking into two as it smashes against the ground.
Ran Mōri: I-I'm so sorry about your precious candle!
Carolina: Oh, no worries. You can have this one instead.
Ran Mōri: Sorry again...
Carolina: Ohoho... Would you like one too, cutie?
Conan Edogawa: Thanks, Carolina-san!
Conan Edogawa: (Not like it'd be a hassle to carry. Might as well take it.)
Leila: So what sort of incidents have you solved so far? I'd love to hear all about it!
Kogorō Mōri: Sure, I don't mind.
The friendly atmosphere helps foster camaraderie between all who are present.

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 1: Help from the Sky Realm - Episode 4

The music boxes in the rooms opposite of each other have to resonate simultaneously for the double doors at the end of the hall to open up. When everyone splits into two groups, Conan puts a wiretap on Kogorō—who will be in Barawa's group—to see just how good of a sleuth the brawny detective really is. A speaking tube extending across both rooms allows them to coordinate the playing of the music boxes.

Lyria: Now that we all know each other a little better, maybe we can go further into the mansion?
Daniela: I'd love to, but we can't get in with the door locked.
Daniela describes everything her group has learned about the lock.
The giant door is supposed to open up when the music boxes in two adjacent rooms play.
The catch is that the handles for turning the music boxes are locked in place.
Carolina: And the music box locks are definitely not easy to break through.
Carolina: The locks on the handles only open up when the doors to the rooms are sealed shut, meaning we'll have to split into two groups if we're to do this.
Nelly: This hint was on one of the doors.
Nelly hands Barawa an old parchment.
Barawa: "Only when the twin melodies resonate will the servants awaken to open the path."
Barawa: The twin melodies must be a reference to the music boxes.
Leila: And it'd be a safe bet to say the servants are really just the mannequins by the big double doors.
Katalina: We saw a few on the way here too. Though I can't shake the feeling that they're a little more than simple mannequins...
Sarya: Getting the music boxes to play should give us some clues.
Barawa: How's about we go to the room on the right, and you guys deal with the room on the left?
Tōru Amuro: No, I recommend a shuffling of our respective members.
Kogorō Mōri: Why go through the trouble?
Tōru Amuro: We've only just met.
Tōru Amuro: Without a clue as to what puzzles lie ahead, don't you think it'd be better for us to learn each other's strengths and weaknesses?
Conan Edogawa: (And if we don't split our groups, it'd be less likely for us to share what we know later on.)
Sarya: That makes a lot of sense.
Leila: Let's not forget we'll need someone to stay in the hallway to see if anything changes when the music boxes play.
Katalina: Lyria and I will stay. It's only fair considering there's more of us in the crew.
Barawa: Okay, Sarya and I will pair up, as will (Captain) and Vyrn.
Kogorō Mōri: For us, the pairs will be me and Ran, and Amuro-san and the kiddo.
Conan Edogawa: It's gonna be just you with Ran?
Kogorō Mōri: You got a problem with that?
Conan Edogawa: N-no...
Kogorō Mōri: A good detective knows when to lie back and let his apprentice do some heavy lifting.
Conan Edogawa: Why don't you group up with Barawa-san's pair then?
Conan Edogawa: With a great detective like him around, Amuro-san wouldn't get much practice.
Tōru Amuro: Conan-kun makes a valid point. What do you think, Detective Mōri?
Kogorō Mōri: Fair enough. Just don't come complaining to us later if you get stuck.
Tōru Amuro: I'll do my best to meet your expectations!
Conan Edogawa: (Sigh... The old man should be all right if their ace gumshoe is with him.)
Conan Edogawa: (I must say I am curious as to how good of a detective Barawa-san is though.)
Conan plants a sticker-shaped wiretap on Kogorō's sleeve before he and Ran walk off toward Barawa.
Now evenly split up, each group enter their respective rooms.
Vyrn: So this is the music box, huh? It's bigger than I thought it'd be.
Leila: And it goes up to my chest! Can you imagine how loud this thing must be?
When (Captain) shuts the door after entering, the turning of a notch sounds, and the wall slowly slides across.
Vyrn: Check out those paintings that just showed up on the wall.
Vyrn lets out a gasp when a mural signed "Norman Astley" comes into view.
Tōru Amuro: Must be some sort of hint to help us unlock the music box.
Nelly: Hm? It's different from what we saw the last time we came in...
Leila: Wow, whoever came up with this really put their effort in the strangest places.
Vyrn: On with the puzzle then...
Conan Edogawa: Hello, hello... Can anyone hear me?
Conan speaks into the horn-shaped object jutting out from the wall.
Vyrn: Hm? What's Kiddo Specs doing?
Ran Mōri: Conan-kun! Yeah, we hear you!
Vyrn: Whoa! We can hear them through the tube?
Tōru Amuro: It's a speaking tube. Seems to be connected to the other room.
Leila: Oh, I know! It's that thingamajig with two cones connected by an air pipe that lets you talk to each other.
Vyrn: I've seen those things before. You usually don't find 'em in any normal home though.
Conan Edogawa: I'm sure it's for the puzzle. This device should help our teams coordinate so that the music boxes play at the same time.
Vyrn: Makes sense for it to be here then!
Tōru Amuro: Now that we know how to match our timing, let's unlock this thing.

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 1: Help from the Sky Realm - Episode 4: Scene 2 - Incorrect Answer

While (Captain)'s group is successful at solving the puzzle in one room, Barawa's group forgoes any puzzle solving by brute force, forcing any locks open. Coordinating with each other via the speaking tube, they play their music boxes simultaneously.

Vyrn: Here's our answer!
Conan Edogawa: Hm? It's different from mine.
Nelly: I have something else entirely...
Tōru Amuro: Let's just go with trial and error then. We'll try each answer in turn.
Vyrn: Okay. (Captain) and I will go first!
Vyrn: Urgh... It's not working...
Conan Edogawa: I'll give ours a go next.
Conan Edogawa: Woo-hoo! It's open!
Vyrn: Sweet! You might be small, but you've definitely got the smarts!
Conan Edogawa: (I should look into how the other team's doing.)
Conan presses a button on his glasses to raise the volume of the tracker planted on Kogorō.
Ran Mōri: How's it coming along, Dad?
Kogorō Mōri: I've almost got this...
Conan Edogawa: (Nice. The doc's gadgets work like a charm in any situation.)
Conan Edogawa: (Let's see...)
Carolina: What do you make of it, Detective Barawa?
Barawa: I need to concentrate. Gimme a moment.
Barawa: ...
Conan Edogawa: (You can do it, Barawa-san!)
Barawa: This is hopeless.
Conan Edogawa: (I-is he serious?)
Sarya: Detective, maybe we should turn back and discuss this with everyone...
Barawa: No need for that.
Ran Mōri: But we have no idea how to solve this...
Barawa: Listen, Ran-kun. The problem isn't how you solve it. The problem is how to get the lock open.
Barawa: And I have just the way to do that.
Barawa: Hurrgh!
Ran Mōri: I can't believe it! You broke the lock in half...
Sarya: There he goes again busting out his brute force.
Conan Edogawa: (He's like a cheat code!)
Kogorō Mōri: Nah, that was simply the correct way of opening up the lock.
Ran Mōri: What do you mean?
Kogorō Mōri: The strange symbols in this room point to the weak links in the lock.
Kogorō Mōri: Barawa-san was able to figure that out and made use of the knowledge. Otherwise there's no way he'd have been able to break the lock so cleanly.
Conan Edogawa: (Speaking of weak links...)
Kogorō Mōri: Right, Barawa-san?
Barawa: Actually, that was just—
Carolina: You're amazing, Detective Barawa! It really helps to look at things from a different angle, huh!
Barawa: Hahaha! I was trying to play my talents down, but I suppose it's too late for that.
(I just went with my gut really...)
Daniela: It's such a relief to have two famous detectives with us. We're counting on you two.
Barawa: Watch as I go on to beautifully solve every puzzle that comes our way in the road ahead!
Barawa: Hah hah hah!
Kogorō Mōri: Hey, don't count me out just yet. I'll show you I'm just as great a detective as you are!
Barawa: You're on!
Conan Edogawa: (Haha, sounds like they're getting along well enough.)
Sarya: Are we really going to make it through all of this...
Tōru Amuro: Conan-kun, seems like they opened up the lock okay on the other side.
Conan Edogawa: A-ah... Good to know.
(Captain) keeps a hand on the music box, waiting for Leila's signal.
Leila: Daniela, all ready on your side?
Mm, okay!
Leila: Keep your hand at the ready!
On my mark...
A harmonious melody rings out across the room with her signal.
Conan Edogawa: (There's a tube beneath the music box too. I wonder where that one's connected to.)
Conan cocks his head in wonder as his eyes trace the length of the pipe across the ground.

Conan Edogawa: Same as mine!
Nelly: Likewise.
Tōru Amuro: Looks like we're all agreed! Let's go with that solution then!
Vyrn: Woo-hoo! You're the best partner, (Captain)!
Conan Edogawa: (I should look into how the other team's doing.)

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 2: Maniac Mansion - Episode 1

The mannequins in the hallway respond to the music boxes by opening up the double doors. All enter the great hall ahead and find a worn-out parchment lying on a pedestal in the center of the room. On it are instructions to gather music box parts from five different rooms and put them together in the great hall. They start out by splitting up into four groups, each assigned their own room.

Lyria: Hm? Music's playing...
Two soothing melodies merge to create music for Lyria's ears as she waits in front of the double doors.
Katalina: It seems to be from the music boxes, but where exactly is the sound coming from?
Lyria: Maybe from the tubes on the wall?
Mannequin: ...
The two mannequins standing guard outside the double doors slowly raise their heads.
Katalina: Lyria! Get behind me!
Lyria: Okay!
The mannequins pay no heed to the two and continue rotating until their backs are turned. They then place their hands against the candlesticks on the wall.
Slits in the wall expand, opening up to reveal darkness within.
Katalina: So those slits were actually covering up trapdoors.
The mannequins continue into the darkness as if being sucked in, after which the wall reverts to its normal state.
Lyria: Ah, the double doors are opening up!
Little by little they creak open.
Vyrn: Ah, it's opening up!
Lyria: Vyrn! You're all okay!
Conan Edogawa: We pulled it off! On to the next stage.
Sarya: Where did those mannequins go?
Katalina: About that...
Katalina tries to explain to everyone what had just transpired.
Sarya: You say the wall opened up, but where could the mannequins have gone?
Conan Edogawa: Behind the wall, I'd say.
Lyria: What do you mean?
Tōru Amuro: When we entered the room, the first thing we heard was something rotating. Then a hint appeared on the wall.
Tōru Amuro: It's safe to say there's an entire set of gears back there that the mannequins had to spin to open up the double doors.
Barawa: Considering how the hint card earlier mentioned servants of the mansion...
Barawa: I'd say those mannequins are responsible for moving all the mechanisms around in this place.
Vyrn: Let's get a move on already!
Lyria: Yeah. Come on, (Captain)!
Beyond the double doors is a large, empty hall devoid of even the simplest of furniture. The only object of any significance is a small, waist-high pedestal.
The crew grabs a worn-out parchment from the stand to get a closer look.
Sarya: It looks like floor plans of the mansion.
Barawa: From what I gather, this stand is part of another music box.
Barawa: Seems like we have to gather the parts of the music box from all the different rooms and assemble them here.
Barawa points to the five doors in the great hall.
Sarya: Cryptography, Twilight, Lost and Found, Commandments, True or False...
Sarya: I imagine each room has a puzzle of some sort designed after its name, and we need to solve them to get the parts.
Lyria: Completing this music box won't be easy...
Daniela: With so many of us here, we ought to split up to get this done faster.
Daniela: Those of us in Candle Investigations would be a perfect fit for the Twilight Room.
Kogorō Mōri: Thanks for volunteering. We'll leave that one to you gals then.
Barawa: The Cryptography Room houses the heavy cylinder part of the music box.
Barawa: If it's brawn, I'm your man. Consider this room taken.
Sarya: I'll come too.
Barawa: Care to come along, Kogorō? As a fellow great detective, I'd love nothing more than to buddy up with you and talk the talk.
Kogorō Mōri: Right, of course. Then I'll...
Conan Edogawa: (Crap! If they go in together, any parts they get their hands on are gonna come out broken!)
Conan Edogawa: I'll tag along!
Conan Edogawa: This would be the perfect chance for me to see Barawa-san's master deductive skills in action!
Barawa: Hahaha, glad to have you!
Kogorō Mōri: Sorry to make you put up with this kid.
Conan Edogawa: Thanks a bunch, Barawa-san!
Conan Edogawa: (The old man's not gonna need this anymore.)
Conan reaches out to Kogorō's sleeve and peels off the sticker bug.
Leila: Hm...
Another hand reaches out and pilfers the sticker from Conan.
Leila: Hey, what's this? Eh, it's so sticky...
Conan Edogawa: (Shoot!)
Conan Edogawa: Just a piece of trash! It must've gotten stuck when I sat down earlier.
Ran Mōri: Everything okay?
Conan Edogawa: (Ack... Ran!)
Leila: Just picked up some trash. Here, you can have it.
Ran Mōri: Sorry about that. I'll dispose of it.
Ran folds in the sticky part and puts the device in her pocket.
Conan Edogawa: (Probably shouldn't be too much of a problem...)
Conan twiddles with the buttons on his glasses and shuts off the device.
The Barawa team and Candle Investigations make for their respective rooms.
Tōru Amuro: Do you have a room in mind, Ran-san?
Ran Mōri: Hm... I guess Lost and Found might be right up my alley.
Lyria: I was thinking of going there myself. Can you come with me, Katalina?
Katalina: Of course. As long as Ran doesn't mind.
Ran Mōri: Not at all. I could use the company.
Vyrn: Okay, Lost and Found is up to you girls. Where do you wanna go, (Captain)?
Vyrn: Why don't you come with us, Apprentice D?
Tōru Amuro: It's true there's enough of us remaining to split into more groups, but...
Ran Mōri: If it's me you're worried about, then please don't.
Ran Mōri: I wouldn't feel right knowing I'm slowing everyone down...
Tōru Amuro: Fair enough. So you ladies handle Lost and Found.
Tōru Amuro: I'll join up with (Captain)-san and Vyrn-san for True or False.
Vyrn: Sounds good to me!
Twilight - Candle Investigations
Cryptography - Barawa Team
True or False - (Captain) Team
Lost and Found - Lyria Team.
The four teams move out from the great hall in search of the music box parts.

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 2: Maniac Mansion - Episode 2

Barawa, Kogorō, Sarya, and Conan scour the Cryptography Room for a chest key. When a mannequin comes attacking after a particular noise sounds, they quickly realize that any mistakes in their puzzle-solving can lead to mannequin-related danger.

Crammed in the Cryptography Room are oddly-shaped antiques and paintings.
A large chest in the far back of the room is likely to contain the part for the music box—provided Barawa's team can pry it open.
They go around the exhibit decoding the various cryptograms lying around, collecting clues as to where the key to the treasure chest might be.
Barawa: What a fascinating case that must have been... What was the trick to it?
Kogorō Mōri: I tend to get hit with a major dose of the z's every time I come close to zeroing in on a case, so I actually don't remember the trick.
Barawa: Major dose of the z's?
Kogorō Mōri: When I really rack my brain, the real me tends to come out.
Kogorō Mōri: It looks like I'm sleeping to others, so I often get called Sleeping Kogorō.
Barawa: How intriguing...
Sarya: Detective, can we get our hands moving too along with our mouths? This puzzle isn't going to solve itself.
Barawa: Ah, sorry. Let's see what our next cryptogram is...
Barawa and Kogorō take a closer look at the parchment before them.
Sarya: I wonder if this'll work...
Sarya: Ah, the drawer opened up... Only to reveal another cryptogram.
Conan Edogawa: Sarya-san, did you already solve the one from before?
Sarya: Yes! It was simple enough.
Conan Edogawa: (Good to know that Sarya-san's a reliable one.)
Sarya: By the way, Conan-kun, something the detectives mentioned struck my curiosity...
Sarya: Have you ever seen this so-called Sleeping Kogorō for yourself?
Conan Edogawa: Mm-hm, sure have...
Sarya: I see... I'd love for the chance to see him in action!
Conan Edogawa: So what kind of a detective is Barawa-san?
Sarya: Well, he's usually kind of off-kilter...
Sarya: But he always come through—more so than anyone else I know—when it really counts.
Sarya: There was this one time when I was taken hostage, and he cast everything aside to come save me!
Sarya: I'll never forget that!
Conan Edogawa: (Her respect for Barawa-san seems genuine enough.)
Conan Edogawa: (What's that?)
Kogorō Mōri: I pushed the buttons. Why isn't the drawer opening?
Barawa: Hm... I'm pretty sure we got the order right...
Sarya: Detective, you're holding the parchment upside down!
Barawa: What? We had it wrong after all!
???: ...
Conan Edogawa: (Something's coming!)
Conan Edogawa: Aah!
Mannequin: ...!
A mannequin comes forth from behind and swings its sword down in the general vicinity of the four.
Barawa and Kogorō: Gyaaah!
Kogorō Mōri: The heck was that? Where'd it even come from?
Conan Edogawa: (That was the mannequin standing by the opposite side of the speaking tube. Sure didn't expect it to attack.)
Sarya: Hey, the noise stopped.
Mannequin: ...
The mannequin returns to its neutral state directly beneath the speaking tube.
Conan Edogawa: Looks like it responds to noise.
Sarya: There must be different commands depending on sound, just like earlier when the big double doors were opened by the music boxes.
Barawa: The noise just now must have been an order to attack. In other words a trap.
Conan Edogawa: But the attack was really brief, targeting only the spot where the noise played. It's easily avoidable.
Sarya: Okay, let's all just calm down and take this slow.
Sarya proceeds to push the buttons in the correct order, granting them the next cryptogram from the drawer.
Using it as a hint, they continue searching for the key.

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 2: Maniac Mansion - Episode 3

In the True or False Room, (Captain) and others solve every puzzle successfully and acquire a handle for the music box. They return to the great hall.

The True or False Room is composed of mini-jail cells, each partitioned off by thick multi-layered iron bars.
A large chest lies in the far back of the room, and it can only be reached by opening up the doors to each cell.
Vyrn: These locks are one-of-a-kind. There's a red, blue, and green switch for each one.
Tōru Amuro: And there's a piece of parchment placed on each one too. It should give us clues.
Vyrn: "The honest face the right, and the dishonest face the left. But as telling a lie is all too easy, the honest never outnumber the dishonest."
Vyrn: "Lend an ear to the testimonies and correctly determine the veracity of each to open the path forward."
Vyrn: "Red's testimony: Blue is a liar.

Blue's testimony: Green is a liar.

Green's testimony: I am honest."
Vyrn: Okay, now I'm lost.
Tōru Amuro: To put it simply, this is a logic puzzle where we have to determine who's telling the truth.
Tōru Amuro: It seems hard at a glance, but if you settle down and put all the facts together, the answer should become obvious.
Vyrn: Ah, I'm starting to get why this room is called True or False.
Tōru Amuro: Well then, starting with the first lock...
Vyrn: Ah, (Captain)! You figured it out already?
Tōru Amuro: The confidence beaming in your eyes is most reassuring!
Vyrn: That's for sure!
Vyrn: Tap the Text Log button on the top right if you need to review any hints, (Captain)!
Tōru Amuro: Okay, here we go.
Tōru Amuro: "Red's testimony: Blue is a liar.

Blue's testimony: Green is a liar.

Green's testimony: I am honest."
Tōru Amuro: Keeping in mind that bit about the dishonest outnumbering the honest, who do you think is telling the truth?
  1. I trust Red.
  2. I trust Blue.
  3. I trust Green.

Choose: I trust Red.
Choose: I trust Green.
Tōru Amuro: Not what I would've picked...
Vyrn: Yeah? Hm, let's give it a shot anyway.
Vyrn: What was that?
Mannequin: ...!
Tōru Amuro: Something doesn't feel right! Let's flip the switch back!
Vyrn: Whew... That kinda creeped me out whatever it was.
Tōru Amuro: I'm guessing it was some kind of trap, but flipping the switch back seems to have stopped it.
Vyrn: So we're back to square one...
Tōru Amuro: How about we give it another go?
Vyrn: We'll get it right for sure this time!
Tōru Amuro: Good. Don't let me down!
Tōru Amuro: Okay, here we go.
Tōru Amuro: "Red's testimony: Blue is a liar.

Blue's testimony: Green is a liar.

Green's testimony: I am honest."
  1. I trust Red.
  2. I trust Blue.
  3. I trust Green.

Choose: I trust Blue.
Choose: I trust Blue.
Tōru Amuro: Haha. Good, same as my answer.
Vyrn: Okay! So we flip the blue switch to the right and the others to the left...
Vyrn: Woo-hoo! It opened up!
Tōru Amuro: We're off to a great start!
(Captain) and the others move from one cell to the next.
Vyrn: What's the next one?
Tōru Amuro: This parchment should give a clue.
Vyrn: "Red's testimony: Blue and Yellow are liars.
Blue's testimony: Red is honest."
Vyrn: "Green's testimony: Yellow is a liar.
Yellow's testimony: Blue and Green are liars."
Tōru Amuro: Let's go with your answer first again, (Captain)-san.
Tōru Amuro: Keeping in mind that bit about the dishonest outnumbering the honest, who do you think is telling the truth?
  1. I trust Red.
  2. I trust Blue.
  3. I trust Green.
  4. I trust Yellow.

Choose: I trust Red.
Choose: I trust Blue.
Choose: I trust Green.
Tōru Amuro: Hm, not exactly what I had in mind.
Vyrn: Well, let's give it a shot anyway.
Vyrn: Aagh! Must've been the wrong answer!
Tōru Amuro: Maybe there's a detail we missed.
Vyrn: Yeah, why don't we give it another go? We should be able to figure it out with some more thought!
Tōru Amuro: That's the spirit. Persistence is key.
Tōru Amuro: Well then...
Vyrn: "Red's testimony: Blue and Yellow are liars.
Blue's testimony: Red is honest."
Vyrn: "Green's testimony: Yellow is a liar.
Yellow's testimony: Blue and Green are liars."
  1. I trust Red.
  2. I trust Blue.
  3. I trust Green.
  4. I trust Yellow.

Choose: I trust Yellow.
Choose: I trust Yellow.
Tōru Amuro: Likewise!
Vyrn: You too, Apprentice D? Let's go for it!
Vyrn: Woo-hoo! Open sesame!
Tōru Amuro: Wonderful! Let's keep up the pace!
(Captain)'s team moves on to the next cell.
Vyrn: You're pretty good at this, Apprentice D. I can't believe you're just a rookie.
Tōru Amuro: Oh, I still have a long way to go.
Tōru Amuro: Your deductive prowess is quite impressive as well, (Captain)-san. It's no wonder you're the captain of a crew.
Vyrn: Heheh, all that puzzle-solving with Barawa must have paid off big-time!
Tōru Amuro: I can only imagine! What sort of cases did you take on?
Vyrn: From chasing thieves on a casino liner to thwarting bad guys for hidden treasure on a remote island—we've done 'em all.
Vyrn: It'll be a long story if I go into detail. But maybe I'll fill ya in when we're done with all these puzzles.
Tōru Amuro: I'm looking forward to it. Onward to the next conundrum then!
Tōru Amuro: This should be the last one.
Vyrn: So we're back to square one...
Tōru Amuro: Shouldn't change the way we go about solving it though. Let's take this slow and steady.
Vyrn: Mm-hm! Let's see here...
Vyrn: "Red's testimony: Green and Yellow are liars.

Blue's testimony: Green is honest. Red isn't.

Green's testimony: Red is a liar."
Vyrn: "Yellow's testimony: White is a liar.

White's testimony: Red is honest. Blue isn't.

Black's testimony: I am honest."
Vyrn: Gulp... Someone give me an apple so I can think straight...
Tōru Amuro: You give up already?
Vyrn: No way! We'll get this solved in a jiffy! Right, (Captain)?
Tōru Amuro: Glad to hear it!
Tōru Amuro: Keeping in mind that bit about the dishonest outnumbering the honest, which of these six do you think is telling the truth?
  1. I trust Red, Blue, and Black.
  2. I trust Blue, Green, and Yellow.
  3. I trust Red and White.
  4. I trust Yellow and Black.

Choose: I trust Red, Blue, and Black.
Choose: I trust Blue, Green, and Yellow.
Choose: I trust Yellow and Black.
Vyrn: These colors are the only straight arrows!
Tōru Amuro: I see... Hm...
Vyrn: Something wrong, Apprentice D? I'm guessing it doesn't match up with your answer?
Tōru Amuro: Indeed. I'm not certain of the correct answer myself, so let's just go with (Captain)-san's for now.
Vyrn: Ack! Better flip those switches back!
Tōru Amuro: Looks like we got it wrong...
Vyrn: Just give us one more chance! We'll get it right this time for sure!
Tōru Amuro: Yeah! Let's put our heads together to get through this!
Tōru Amuro: Remember that hint about the dishonest outnumbering the honest?
Tōru Amuro: Well, since we have six colors this time, there are at least four liars in the midst.
Vyrn: Uh-huh! I'm starting to see it now!
Tōru Amuro: Now for the question again...
Vyrn: Mm-hm! Let's see here...
Vyrn: "Red's testimony: Green and Yellow are liars.

Blue's testimony: Green is honest. Red isn't.

Green's testimony: Red is a liar."
Vyrn: "Yellow's testimony: White is a liar.

White's testimony: Red is honest. Blue isn't.

Black's testimony: I am honest."
  1. I trust Red, Blue, and Black.
  2. I trust Blue, Green, and Yellow.
  3. I trust Red and White.
  4. I trust Yellow and Black.

Choose: I trust Red and White.
Choose: I trust Red and White.
Vyrn: These colors are the only straight arrows!
Tōru Amuro: I came to the exact same answer! Let's see if it works.
Vyrn: Boosh! We got all the cells open!
Tōru Amuro: All that's left is to open the treasure chest.
Amuro passes through the final cell door and crouches before the chest.
Tōru Amuro: Everyone, we should open it together.
Vyrn: Yep! Here goes!
They open it up to find a pipe bent at a right angle.
Tōru Amuro: This must be the handle for the music box.
Vyrn: Let's head back to the great hall with this.
Having acquired the item they came for, (Captain) and the others head back the way they came.

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 2: Maniac Mansion - Episode 4

In the Lost and Found Room, Lyria gets caught up in a smoky mess that ends with her and Ran in an underground ditch while Katalina is left behind. Conan realizes the situation and meets up with the others to figure out how to open up the hatch leading underground.

Meanwhile in the Lost and Found Room...
Lyria: Ah! I found it, Katalina!
Katalina: Again? You're on a roll today, Lyria.
Lyria's team scours the nooks and crannies of bookshelves in search of short steel pipes.
Ran Mōri: Which part of the music box are these supposed to be? One end of each is shaped like a screw.
Katalina: You're supposed to attach them to the cylinder.
Katalina: So that when the cylinder turns, they act like pins that pluck the tune.
Ran Mōri: Oh, I get it! They become the spiky parts on the main tube.
Katalina: As for where exactly to stick them in, the parchment by the entrance should give us an idea.
Katalina moves to the next shelf and grabs one of the books.
Katalina: Ah, this brings back memories... I used to love reading this series of mystery novels as a child.
Ran Mōri: You're into mystery novels, Katalina-san?
Katalina: I wouldn't say they're my favorite, but I definitely do enjoy them.
Katalina: How about you, Ran?
Ran Mōri: Not particularly... But I know someone who absolutely adores them.
Ran Mōri: So much so that he practically eats, sleeps, and breathes mystery novels.
Lyria: I suppose that person would be so happy to be here right now!
Ran Mōri: I wonder about that...
The trace of a smile on her lips, Ran too grabs one of the books.
Ran Mōri: (He always gets so absorbed in these.)
Katalina: We should have all of them by now. Let's do a count just to be sure.
Lyria: Hm? I sense something in here...
Lyria follows her senses and walks over to a corner in the room.
Lyria: It's gone... Must've been my imagination...
Lyria: Huh?
Lyria notices a small bell rolling around by her feet. She leans forward to pick it up.
Lyria: Ahh! It's such a beautiful sound!
Ran Mōri: Such a clear sound for such a small bell. Where did you find it?
Lyria: Well...
Lyria: Eep! What is this?
A smoke screen rapidly engulfs the room.
Ran Mōri: Cough, gasp... I can't see anything because of the smoke...
Lyria: Katalina, Ran-san, where are you!
An arm extends toward Lyria, grabbing her right hand.
Lyria: Huh? Katalina?
Lyria: Do you know the way out? This way, Ran-san!
Ran Mōri: Okay!
Katalina: Hack... Cough... Lyria, Ran, are you two okay?
Katalina turns pale at the lack of a response.
Katalina: Lyria! Ran! Where did you two go?
Muffled Voice: ...!
Conan Edogawa: (Something's not right...)
Sensing something amiss, Conan fiddles with his glasses to raise the volume of his bug.
Lyria's Voice: Ran-san, where are we?
Ran's Voice: No clue... It's pitch-black in here.
Conan Edogawa: (Ran? Where was she looking anyway...)
Conan activates the tracking functionality of his glasses to pinpoint the location of the sticker bug in Ran's pocket.
He discovers that they're underground even though they should be on the same floor as everyone else.
Conan Edogawa: (What are they doing down there? I didn't even know this place had a passage underground...)
Lyria's Voice: Eek!
Ran's Voice: Lyria-chan, hold on tight!
Conan Edogawa: (The sound of water? Uh-oh, don't tell me they've fallen into some kind of nasty trap!)
Barawa: The chest is open. This must be the part for the music box.
Kogorō Mōri: Hey, kid, it's high time we got back to the great hall.
Conan Edogawa: Kogorō, Ran's in trouble!
Kogorō Mōri: How so?
Conan Edogawa: Just come! Quick!
Kogorō Mōri: ...?
Conan Edogawa: Amuro-san! (Captain)-san!
Tōru Amuro: Conan-kun! What's the situation?
Conan Edogawa: I think Ran and Lyria-san got swept up in a river or something underground!
Vyrn: But Katalina's supposed to be watching them...
Conan hurriedly looks around and notices that the carpet on the ground near the double doors is flipped around.
Conan Edogawa: (The carpet wasn't like this before...)
Conan Edogawa: (There's something on the floor!)
Katalina: (Captain), it's an emergency! Lyria and Ran are nowhere to be seen!
Vyrn: Wha! Katalina? But then... This smells like trouble!
Conan Edogawa: Take a look at this, everyone!
Conan flips the carpet over and points to the ground.
Conan Edogawa: There's a hatch here to get underground.
Conan Edogawa: We'll have to go through this if we want to save them, but there's a lock on this too!
Barawa: I've got this!
Barawa: ...!
Conan Edogawa: No, no, no! Stop pulling! You're gonna break the handle!
Barawa: Damn it! How are we supposed to get it open then?
Sarya: You see all the buttons on the hatch? Punching them in the right order should do the trick.
Vyrn: Yeah, something's written here... Another puzzle, huh?
Vyrn: We need to solve this ASAP, (Captain)!
Conan Edogawa: (Ran... I'm coming to save you!)

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 2: Maniac Mansion - Episode 4: Scene 2 - Incorrect Answer

Conan and the others make their way past the hatch, finding Lyria and Ran unharmed. As the others make their way back up to the great hall, Conan spots a silhouette on the opposite end of the ditch. He chases after it only to find a locked lift and burnt yarn on the ground. He follows the tracks on the ground to a trapdoor leading to the Twilight Room.

Vyrn: Crud! Why won't it open!
Conan Edogawa: I have an idea... Let me have a go at it!
Conan slides in front of (Captain) and the others, and then proceeds to push the buttons in order.
Conan Edogawa: There, it's open!
Conan Edogawa: Ran!
Ran Mōri: Conan-kun!
Conan rushes down the stairs and toward Ran.
Conan Edogawa: Ran, tell me you're okay!
Ran Mōri: I'm fine. But Lyria-chan fell into the ditch...
Lyria: Brr... Ah-choo.
A ditch linking to a large, rotating waterwheel covers most of the ground.
Conan Edogawa: (So this waterwheel is what's powering all the contraptions in the mansion.)
Conan Edogawa: (The ditch is deep, and the speed of the flowing water is nothing to sneeze at. But I guess that's necessary to fuel so many mechanisms at once.)
Katalina: Lyria! You're okay...
Lyria: Katalina! Ran-san pulled me up just in time thankfully.
Katalina: I'm glad to hear it. You have my utmost thanks, Ran.
Ran Mōri: It was nothing really. We should worry about going back up and getting Lyria-san dried up for now.
Katalina: Of course. It's this way.
Ran and Lyria ascend the stairs that Conan came down on.
Conan Edogawa: (What's this now?)
Conan catches a whiff of something burning and surveys his surroundings.
Conan Edogawa: (Sounds like chains? Something's being hauled up quite a ways from here!)
Silhouette: ...
Conan Edogawa: (Someone's on the other side!)
Conan Edogawa: (They got away!)
Conan Edogawa: (Cripes, that's pretty far.)
Kogorō Mōri: C'mon already, Kiddo!
Conan Edogawa: I dropped something down here!
Conan uses his wristwatch to shine a light ahead, dashing across to the opposite end of the ditch where he had caught sight of a silhouette.
Conan Edogawa: What's this? Yarn?
Conan Edogawa: Sniff, sniff...
Conan Edogawa: (It's burnt... This is definitely what I smelled earlier.)
Intent on finding out where the sound of the chain came from, Conan shines his light on the nearby walls.
Conan Edogawa: (Okay, so that's the reel for the chain and this is the switch for it. The chain goes through a pulley above to suspend this giant cage.)
Conan Edogawa: (As simple as it is, it also works as a lift. Let's see if I can use this to go up...)
Conan Edogawa: (Darn it, a lock on this switch too. Guess I won't be going up from here.)
Conan Edogawa: (Ah, footprints!)
Conan traces the wet tracks up a set of stairs leading to a dead end.
Oddly enough the tracks stop dead at the wall, with no sign of anyone turning back.
Conan Edogawa: (The fact that they came here means they didn't use the lift just to get away.)
Conan Edogawa: (The way these tracks stop here makes it look they disappeared into the wall though...)
Conan places his hands on the wall and fumbles around.
Conan Edogawa: (Ah! It's moving!)
To Conan's surprise, the wall slides open to reveal a hidden door.
Conan Edogawa: (Judging from the floor plans we found, this can only lead to the Twilight Room.)
Conan Edogawa: (The Twilight Room is carpeted. These tracks aren't that wet to begin with, so their soles should be wiped clean by now.)
Conan flashes his light on the surroundings in hopes of further leads but to no avail.
Conan Edogawa: (Slipping away into this room suggests the person I saw is someone I know...)
Conan Edogawa: (That's why the carpet in the great hall was flipped—they entered from there.)
Conan Edogawa: (But why go through all this trouble? Let's say this is the Phantom Thief at work... Shouldn't he be busy going after the treasure?)
Vyrn's Voice: Hey, Kiddo Specs! Where'd ya go?
Conan Edogawa: Sorry, be right there!
Deciding that nothing good would come out of pursuing this any further, Conan turns back the way he came.
Convinced that there's a fantastic case waiting to be solved amid all this, Conan's heart burns with an ardent passion for the truth.

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 3: Investigations and Puzzle-Solving - Episode 1

Katalina suspects that someone from the empire may have been responsible for the failed kidnapping of Lyria. Further investigation on the part of Conan and Amuro reveal that the culprit can only be a member of Candle Investigations.

Ran Mōri: Ouch!
Barawa: Sorry, Ran-kun. Did that hurt?
Ran Mōri: No, it's okay. Just stung a bit.
Barawa is tending to the wound that Ran received on her knee when she helped Lyria up from the ditch.
Conan Edogawa: Amuro-san... It's actually possible for us to get hurt in this game.
Tōru Amuro: I noticed too. Gives me goosebumps to think what might happen if we suffered a fatal injury in here.
Tōru Amuro: Even if we do end up with a game over, I'd prefer to forego any excruciating, deathly pain.
Conan Edogawa: (The doc mentioned an action sequence for the confrontation with the perpetrator. I just hope he didn't take it too far.)
Katalina: Feeling warmer yet, Lyria?
Lyria: Mm-hm. (Captain) lent me a towel, so I'm better now.
Conan Edogawa: (I'll also have to look into what exactly happened to Ran and Lyria-san.)
Tōru Amuro: ...
With Ran's wound taken care of, everyone gathers around to hear what happened to her and Lyria in an attempt to make sense of it all.
Barawa: So to summarize... After collecting the music box parts, a smoke screen filled the room sending you three into a panic.
Barawa: Someone—who Lyria mistook for Katalina—guided her out of the room.
Sarya: Lyria called for Ran-san, and the two of them acted together.
Barawa: They later found themselves in pitch-black darkness. Without any light they had no choice but to follow the mysterious figure.
Barawa: That person fell into the ditch, and Lyria fell with them. Thankfully Ran-kun pulled Lyria out before she could flow downstream.
Barawa: And then Conan-kun somehow realized you two were down there and opened the hatch leading underground.
Ran Mōri: Huh? Dad, where's Conan-kun?
Kogorō Mōri: Must've went off somewhere again. Wait, I don't see Amuro-kun either...
Sarya: There's a fence further down the ditch, so even if you did get caught in the stream of water, I doubt it'd take you that far.
Sarya: But considering how deep the ditch went, there's no denying how dangerous it was.
Katalina: So was it meant to be one of the mansion's traps after all? I mean, that smoke screen came out of nowhere.
Sarya: Can't say for sure, but I'm curious about the figure Conan-kun spotted underground.
Sarya: I can't imagine anyone wandering down there by mistake. It's definitely conceivable that the person set up the whole thing as a trap.
Katalina: But even if that's true, why target Lyria and Ran?
Lyria: Well, it's possible I got Ran-san into the mess...
Lyria: If only I hadn't called her when that arm grabbed me in the smoke...
Barawa: In other words it's very likely that Lyria was the only target.
Katalina: Oh no, could it be...
Kogorō Mōri: Do you have someone in mind?
Katalina: Yes... I suppose I trust you all enough to tell you this.
Katalina explains how she gave up her position as a knight of the Erste Empire to free Lyria from captivity and help her escape.
Katalina: Ever since then many affiliated with the empire have been tracking us all over the skies.
Katalina: If even one of us here today is allied with the imperial army, Lyria being targeted makes perfect sense.
Barawa: Katalina's supposition that this was all a ploy to kidnap Lyria is certainly something to consider.
Barawa: We can't deny the possibility that even Chat Noir's invitation was a fake meant to bait Lyria.
Sarya: But Detective! That invitation was...
Barawa: It was real, I know... Buuut...
Sarya: So something does seem off, huh...
Ran Mōri: Aren't phantom thieves supposed to be pros when it comes to disguises? Maybe he approached Lyria-chan while masquerading as someone else?
Kogorō Mōri: That seems likely. Even inside a smoke screen, I find it hard to believe you'd mistake a stranger for someone you know well.
Lyria: Yeah, why did I think it was Katalina?
Tōru Amuro: There's a good reason for that. And I doubt the person wore any sort of disguise.
Amuro returns to the great hall with a purposeful stride.
Ran Mōri: Amuro-san, where did you go?
Tōru Amuro: I went to check on the Lost and Found Room, hoping there might be some clues left.
Tōru Amuro: And sure enough, I found something. The sound made by the bell that Lyria-san picked up seems to produce a special effect.
Katalina: What do you mean?
Tōru Amuro: This calls for a live demonstration. Follow me.
The crew enters the Lost and Found Room, where Amuro rings the bell that Lyria had picked up earlier.
A mannequin in the back of the room struts over to Amuro and grabs his arm.
Ran Mōri: It moved!
Sarya: Doesn't look like it's going to attack. Perhaps because the pitch of this noise differs from that in the Cryptography Room.
Tōru Amuro: Indeed. The actions of the mannequins change depending on the pitch they hear.
Tōru Amuro: This noise in particular causes them to grasp at the person or object causing it.
Tōru Amuro: What do you think? Do you notice anything?
Lyria: Ah! Its hands are identical to Katalina's gauntlets!
Katalina: Since you couldn't see anything at the time, you must've mistaken the steely texture of those hands for my own.
Tōru Amuro: Yes, the pieces fit.
Tōru Amuro: As a precaution I think it's safer if I hold on to this bell.
Amuro stuffs the bell into his pocket.
Vyrn: How'd you end up with the bell anyway, Lyria?
Lyria: When I heard the bell ringing, I turned around to find it lying on the ground.
Lyria points to an area littered with remains of the smoke bomb.
Ran Mōri: That reminds me: we never figured out where the smoke bomb came from.
Barawa: This is pretty far from the door. Unless there's another hidden door somewhere else, I find it hard to believe someone would be able to chuck it all the way here.
Tōru Amuro: Oh, but there is a hidden door.
Amuro places a few fingers on the wall, causing a part of it to open up and reveal a dark space within.
Katalina: It was the same sort of contraption with the double doors. Though I don't remember this trapdoor opening up earlier...
Tōru Amuro: Well, it's designed to open up really easily from the other side.
Kogorō Mōri: So you think the perp snuck in here from behind the wall and threw the bell and smoke bomb?
Ran Mōri: I doubt it. Someone would surely notice if the wall moved.
Kogorō Mōri: Maybe there's a hole in the wall?
Vyrn: I don't see anything like that. The only thing resembling a hole is the speaking tube.
Vyrn points to the speaking tube in the corner of the room.
Kogorō Mōri: It's kind of a stretch to say it's possible to get anything through that...
Conan's Voice: Hrm... Something's not right!
Ran Mōri: Conan-kun! Where are you?
Ran turns her attention to the voice coming from behind the wall.
Conan shines the lit candle in his right hand on the pipe protruding from the back of the wall.
Kogorō Mōri: Whoa, what are you doing in there? Come on out already.
Tōru Amuro: Why don't we just let him do his thing today? This is supposed to be a game after all.
Kogorō Mōri: I guess you're right...
Ran Mōri: Conan-kun, did you find something?
Conan Edogawa: I'm pretty sure this is one end of the speaking tube, but...
Conan Edogawa: Given how rough and rusty the surface is, it doesn't make any sense how only this crooked part is spic-and-span.
Conan Edogawa: And the screws are loose. Give it a simple tug, and it comes right off.
Conan demonstrates the fact.
Sarya: I get it now. The perpetrator snuck in behind the wall, then removed the pipe like Conan-kun just did.
Sarya: Then they dropped the bell and smoke bomb through it.
Barawa: But how did the perp get in there to begin with?
Conan Edogawa: Possibly through the hatch we opened up earlier. That's how I ended up here.
Conan Edogawa: I guess I should also mention there's a trapdoor in every one of the rooms containing music box parts. All these doors make the mansion so much fun to play with!
Sarya: You sure figured out a lot in such a short amount of time!
Conan Edogawa: What can I say? I just love exploring!
Ran squints her eyes to see what's inside the space past the trapdoor and finds a narrow staircase leading to a vast number of mannequins lined up against the wall.
Ran Mōri: I think I might've passed through here with Lyria-chan. 'Cause I remember going down a set of stairs...
Lyria: Ah... Ran-san, wasn't there some kind of beeping noise?
Ran Mōri: Now that you mention it... It was kind of drowned out by the churning of the watermill, but I did hear something like that.
Barawa: I'd wager it was a set of instructions for the mannequins on where to guide you two.
Barawa: And the mannequin must've gone astray and fell into the ditch on the way.
Sarya: If you ask me, that was intentional. The perpetrator wanted Lyria to fall into the ditch.
Sarya: Walking all the way to the opposite end would take some time. But let the flow of water carry you, and you'd be there in a flash.
Conan Edogawa: And about that fence you mentioned, Sarya-san, the silhouette I spotted was pretty close to it.
Sarya: Wait a minute... Were you around when we were talking in the great hall earlier?
Conan Edogawa: I, uh, heard your voice from underground.
(Cripes, I forgot I had the bug on the entire time.)
Tōru Amuro: The perpetrator likely planned on first rescuing Lyria-san, and then escaping from the roof after getting there from the lift.
Tōru Amuro: Considering how decked-out this mansion is...
Tōru Amuro: I'm sure the lift has some way of getting up there.
Kogorō Mōri: But Ran and Conan got in the way and thwarted the plot. So they ended up escaping into the Twilight Room instead.
Lyria: But then that would mean Candle Investigations is in danger!
Tōru Amuro: No need to fret. They're fine.
Lyria: How can you be so sure?
Conan Edogawa: At the time that I saw the silhouette, was there anyone absent from the great hall?
Tōru Amuro: No. I did a headcount—made sure everyone was accounted for.
Conan Edogawa: Meaning the person wasn't in the great hall at the time.
Conan Edogawa: If the perpetrator is someone we don't know, there's no way they'd willingly run into a room filled with others.
Tōru Amuro: I don't know how exactly they identified the room Lyria was in, but...
Tōru Amuro: Assuming that they have a way of knowing who's in which room, the culprit would choose an empty one to escape to.
Tōru Amuro: For instance the Commandments Room which none of us have entered yet.
Lyria: I see...
Conan Edogawa: Meaning whoever's behind this all is someone we know.
Conan Edogawa: Someone who would be free of suspicion even if seen in the Twilight Room.
Conan Edogawa: Put simply the culprit is one of those four girls in the Twilight Room.

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 3: Investigations and Puzzle-Solving - Episode 2

After a brief discussion, the members of Candle Investigations reveal that they are simply mystery lovers who've staged the whole mansion mystery in hopes of meeting Barawa and Chat Noir in person.

The crew calls Candle Investigations out to the great hall and tells them about the failed kidnapping incident.
Carolina: That must've been rough for Lyria and Ran-san!
Daniela: Sigh... I'm just glad you two are okay.
Leila: So... Now you suspect it's one of us?
Nelly: No way. I didn't do jack.
Kogorō Mōri: That's what they all say.
Conan Edogawa: It's definitely not Nelly-san. The silhouette I saw was around Ran's height.
Kogorō Mōri: Can you girls tell us everything that's happened since you stepped into that room?
Daniela: The first thing I did was go to the middle of the room to solve a puzzle so I could open up the little treasure chest there.
Daniela: It had a special lock on it and wouldn't open up until the puzzle was solved.
Kogorō Mōri: And I suppose a music box part was in there?
Daniela: Yes, that's right.
Kogorō Mōri: Is there anyone who can testify for you?
Daniela: Unfortunately, no—I acted alone. It was so dark we could hardly see where we were walking anyway.
Barawa: If we flip that around, it also means you have no idea what the others were doing either.
Kogorō Mōri: What's your story, Carolina-san?
Carolina: Not too different from Daniela's. I went off to the far right of the room.
Leila: Same story here! 'Cept I checked the left side.
Barawa: Right, middle, left... You girls went all over the place.
Nelly: I went to the right side too, but I didn't bump into Carolina. The tall shelves turned it into a sort of maze.
Barawa: So what it comes down to is none of you can prove that you all stayed in the Twilight Room the entire time.
Daniela: How's this for proof?
Daniela hands over an aged gear.
Daniela: This here's a music box part from the Twilight Room.
Barawa: I see. That definitely shows you were in there.
Leila: Hey, I have proof too! See?
Leila places another gear and a screw in Barawa's hand.
Barawa: I'll accept it as evidence. And you, Carolina?
Carolina: I have nothing...
Barawa: That so?
Carolina: It was too dark for me to find anything. Let us not forget that it is called the Twilight Room after all.
Kogorō Mōri: I see... I think we have enough to go on.
Barawa: Really? I'm still clueless here.
Sarya: I've got a really bad feeling about this...
Barawa: So? Who's the culprit then?
Kogorō Mōri: The culprit... is you!
Carolina: Urk! What gives?
Kogorō Mōri: You said you couldn't find any parts because of how dark it was.
Kogorō Mōri: But the real explanation is that you weren't in the room to begin with.
Kogorō Mōri: It's all so obvious when we factor in how you never bumped into Nelly-san despite wandering around the same part of the room.
Nelly: Well, I did say the tall shelves made it really maze-like.
Carolina: And you're saying that alone is enough to establish that I'm the culprit?
Kogorō Mōri: There's more, of course.
Kogorō Mōri: You're the leader of Candle Investigations. That would naturally make you the most talented of the group.
Kogorō Mōri: Daniela-san and Leila-san being able to find a part, but you coming out empty-handed simply doesn't add up.
Carolina: ...!
Kogorō Mōri: Confess already. What were you doing at the time?
Carolina: Well...
Nelly: If I had to guess... She probably wiled away her time trying to figure out the solution.
Kogorō Mōri: Huh?
Nelly: Not being able to find any parts was likely a lie. But that's not important.
Nelly: Simply having a part doesn't prove you were in the room the entire time. I mean, just look at all of these.
Nelly takes out four music box parts from her pocket.
Barawa: You found this many?
Nelly: Some things you can figure out in a second. How many you found is insufficient as proof.
Nelly: Besides there's no rule that says the best puzzle solver must be the leader of a PI agency.
Carolina: Nelly, how about we leave it at that...
Nelly: The fact that they're doubting you rubs me the wrong way.
Nelly: Listen up. Our leader's nothing more than a rabid mystery lover—just don't expect her to actually solve any.
Nelly: It's no surprise at all that she couldn't make heads or tails of any puzzles even with all that time.
Barawa: Is that all true, Carolina?
Carolina: Hrm...
Carolina opens her eyes wide, biting her lips and drooping her head.
Carolina: Yes... I was stuck on a puzzle the entire time...
Carolina: I gave it my all hoping for praise from the great Barawa.
Kogorō Mōri: So Nelly-san's telling the truth?
Carolina: Yes, it's all true! I admit my shortcomings!
Carolina: Calling ourselves PI's was nothing more than a farce! We're just a motley throng of mystery lovers really!
Carolina: We're not detectives, I'm a leader in name only, and... The invitations, the treasure in the mansion... I made all that up!
Barawa: What? You need to tell us more about that!
Daniela: She's telling the truth. We fabricated those invitations and sent them out. Did our best to make them seem like the real thing.
Daniela: It was my idea to use this abandoned mansion. But the thing with the invitations was something Carolina came up with.
Leila: Can you imagine our surprise when Barawa actually came? You can never predict the good things that happen in life!
Vyrn: Hey! Is that the kind of attitude to have after bamboozling us and causing this whole mess?
Carolina: I had only hoped to meet Barawa and Chat Noir in person...
Carolina: But... Sniff... I didn't think all these crazy things would happen...
Carolina: I'm so sorry!
Barawa and Kogorō: !
Conan Edogawa: (C'mon now... It's nothing to cry about really.)
Sarya: But the invitation—
Barawa: Sarya, we can talk about that later.
Barawa: It's obvious something beyond their control is happening here.
Sarya: I figured as much.
Barawa: I somehow doubt whoever's pulling the strings is gonna let these girls off scot-free for their phantom-thieving charade.
Barawa: Assuming that the fake invitations were replaced with real ones, what could the real mastermind possibly have in mind?
Barawa folds his arms and ruminates on the possibilities while Carolina continues to sob.

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 3: Investigations and Puzzle-Solving - Episode 3

Katalina tries to leave the mansion with Lyria ahead of time to avert danger, but the double doors are sealed shut. So the two decide to remain in the great hall while the others continue gathering music box parts.

(Captain) and company are still reeling from Carolina's shocking revelation.
Katalina: As long as the true culprit remains unclear, I prefer Lyria not stay here a moment longer.
Katalina: (Captain), is it all right if we leave in advance of everyone else?
  1. Of course.

Choose: Of course.
Vyrn: Yeah, that's for the best. I wouldn't be able to live with myself either if something happened to Lyria...
Katalina walks toward the double doors to leave the great hall.
Katalina: Hm? They won't open.
Lyria: Huh? Why not!
Katalina: There's something on the ground... It's similar to the hint card we found that gave clues for opening the double doors in the first place.
Katalina: "These doors open only to those who've solved the mystery."
Conan Edogawa: Let me have a look!
Conan Edogawa: ...!
I knew it!
Sarya: Did you notice anything?
Conan Edogawa: The paper it's printed on is new. But all the parchment we've seen up to this point has been old.
Vyrn: Does that mean one of us left the card here?
Tōru Amuro: I'd say the culprit's responsible. Seems apparent that they're very familiar with the inner workings of this mansion.
Tōru Amuro: After all, they locked the double doors by some method we don't even know about just to prevent Lyria-san from getting out.
Barawa: But wasn't all the hullaballoo about the treasure a lie? Why have us continue with the puzzles then?
Sarya: My instincts tell me this mansion really does house a treasure.
Sarya: Setting up all these traps in a regular mansion would be nigh impossible. I get the feeling the culprit knows about the treasure too.
Barawa: I see... It hadn't occurred to me how they might be after both the treasure and Lyria.
Conan Edogawa: (I completely forgot to ask the doc how we're supposed to end this game...)
Conan Edogawa: (Looks like we're stuck here too until we solve all the puzzles and figure out who the culprit is.)
Katalina: Urgh... To think that we must work in tandem with the person who's targeting Lyria....
Vyrn: Any chance we can get out through the underground passage?
Conan Edogawa: I did a pretty thorough search but couldn't find any holes big enough for any of us to fit through.
Tōru Amuro: Of course, that's also true for the culprit.
Tōru Amuro: Let's use that to our advantage to find the mastermind behind this all.
The respective teams put their heads together to work out a plan of action.
They review the parchment instructions, comparing it with the parts they've already amassed to ascertain what is still needed.
The first step is assembling the music box in the great hall.
Sarya: The last ones are the vibrating plate from the Commandments Room and the smaller pieces from the Twilight Room.
Barawa: So how exactly are we gonna go about this?
Conan Edogawa: How about we keep a close eye on those three while taking this one puzzle at a time?
Tōru Amuro: Sounds good to me. Give them something to do, and they won't be able to pull anything funny.
Tōru Amuro: If we have Lyria-san and Katalina-san stay in the great hall, the perpetrator's going to have a much harder time going after them.
Barawa: I like this plan. Katalina would be relieved as well.
Kogorō Mōri: So which one of us is gonna be doing the watching?
Tōru Amuro: I have something in mind for that too. What do you think of this?
Ran Mōri: ...
Ran is away from the detectives, taking a break with the girls.
Carolina: Um, Ran-san...
Ran Mōri: Mm-hm... What's wrong?
Carolina: I'm so sorry you had to bear witness to my most unsightly display earlier.
Carolina: This is not meant to be an apology, but I wanted to share these snacks...
Nelly: Here's a potpourri bag from me.
Daniela: You look cold with your hair wet. I can wipe your hair dry if you'd like...
Ran Mōri: I appreciate the gesture, but...
Daniela: Let's not stand on ceremony. I'm only being myself here.
Ran Mōri: Um, thanks...
Conan Edogawa: (What are they doing to Ran?)
Leila: Hey, is this a tear on her shirt? Might as well fix it up while you're at it, Daniela.
Daniela: Oh, you're right. I'll get right on it.
Daniela takes out a sewing kit from her belongings.
Conan Edogawa: ...
Ran Mōri: Hm? Is everything okay, Conan-kun?
Conan Edogawa: Oh, it's nothing.
Conan Edogawa: (They're each munching on snacks from the same box... I guess they're just relaxing.)
Tōru Amuro: Sorry for the wait. Let's get back to gathering those parts.
Conan Edogawa: So how are we gonna split up our roles?
Kogorō Mōri: You and I will be the ones to keep our eyes peeled. You especially are the biggest witness to today's events after all.
Vyrn: (Captain)'s sure to protect you if anything should happen. It'll be fine!
Tōru Amuro: I'll look into the Twilight Room with Barawa-san, Sarya-san, and Nelly-san.
Kogorō Mōri: How about you, Ran? You can just take it easy here if you'd like.
Ran Mōri: Nah, I feel better now. I'm ready to go.
Tōru Amuro: ...
Leila: Ooh... Something catch your attention, mister?
Tōru Amuro: No, it's nothing...
Leila: Hmm...
All but Lyria and Katalina return to the sleuthing routine.

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 3: Investigations and Puzzle-Solving - Episode 4

Despite the puzzle-solving going well in the Commandments Room, a mannequin attacks Ran when a bell mysteriously attached to her collar goes off. This leads some to suspect that the perpetrator's true target may be Ran. With parts in hand, all gather in the great hall to put together the music box.

The Commandments Room is a kaleidoscope of five colors, with a vivid lamp and floorboards of corresponding colors covering the entire space.
The color and number of times the lamp flickers determines the position of the trap, requiring caution on the part of Conan and the others.
Conan Edogawa: Kogorō, watch the trap.
Kogorō Mōri: Oh, shut it. All I did was stumble a bit.
Carolina: Leila, where do you suppose we should step next?
Leila: No idea. Why not just move on and see what happens?
Daniela: Carolina, just steer clear of the floorboard to your right and you should be okay.
The three suspects assist each other every step of the way to the chest toward the back of the room.
Kogorō Mōri: They're doing fine. Are we really gonna figure out which one of them is the perp like this?
Vyrn: Even if we don't, at least we get to keep Lyria safe for the time being.
Conan Edogawa: (Getting out of here safely is only one part of it. We figure out who the perp is and we're gold.)
Conan Edogawa: (Last but not least, we protect the treasure from this mystery figure and we get to rock our detective badges.)
Daniela: Aah!
Kogorō Mōri: Daniela! Get away from there right this instant!
A mannequin that was lying stationary in the corner raises its head and makes its way toward Daniela.
Daniela: M-my head's a complete blank right now. I have no idea which way to move...
Conan Edogawa: The left one's safe to step on! Move to it now!
Daniela: Phew... You saved me.
Leila: What a surprise. I thought you excelled in these rule-heavy puzzles, Daniela?
Daniela: I must've miscalculated... But I won't mess up next time for sure.
Ran Mōri: Conan-kun, does that noise also count as instructions for the mannequin?
Conan Edogawa: Sure seems that way. The mannequin thrusts its sword at wherever the noise comes from.
Ran Mōri: They use swords? These traps are life-and-death!
Conan Edogawa: All you have to do is get away from wherever you hear the noise.
Conan Edogawa: Speaking of which, did you hear something just now?
Ran Mōri: Yeah, where's the noise coming from?
Mannequin: ...!
Conan Edogawa: (Nuts! It's starting up again!)
Carolina: What in the...
Kogorō Mōri: I don't hear any buzzing! Why is it—
Mannequin: ...
The mannequin seems intent on attacking a certain location as if there were a sound emanating from there.
Ran Mōri: But why!
Ran stands on a supposedly-safe floorboard.
Conan Edogawa: Ran, get away from there!
Ran Mōri: ...!
As Ran dodges to the side, the mannequin immediately changes course, targeting Ran directly.
Kogorō Mōri: What the heck is going on here? This isn't how it's supposed to work!
Leila: Wait... Isn't that sound coming from Ran-san herself?
Ran Mōri: !
Conan Edogawa: (The sound of the bell got louder when she jumped!)
Ran Mōri: Urk! What's this thing around my neck?
Ran Mōri: ...!
Kogorō Mōri: Damn it!
Conan Edogawa: Too risky to get close now, Kogorō!
Ran Mōri: Haaaah!
The Three: Oh my!

Wow!

Amazing!
Vyrn: Whoa... You totally kicked that thing into oblivion.
Conan Edogawa: (I guess anything goes in this game, huh.)
Kogorō Mōri: Ran, show me that thing around your neck!
Kogorō pushes her long hair aside to find a small bell hanging from the back of her neck by a thin wire.
Kogorō is careful not to ring it any further as he removes the bell.
Ran Mōri: What the!
Kogorō Mōri: So Ran's being targeted too? And here I was thinking it was only Lyria-chan...
Carolina: How did something like this happen again? Who could the culprit possibly be!
Leila: How about we start by taking a deep breath?
Ran Mōri: Yeah. I'm just glad no one got hurt.
Conan Edogawa: Well... If you weren't a black belt in karate, Ran, you'd definitely have gotten hurt.
Kogorō Mōri: From kidnapping to inflicting bodily harm...
Daniela: More like attempted murder...
Daniela: We might have been getting this wrong all along.
Kogorō Mōri: Given how Ran was targeted this time...
Kogorō Mōri: If we think back to the kidnapping, it's entirely possible that Ran could've been the one to pick up the bell.
Ran Mōri: Huh? Why am I a target now?
Conan Edogawa: We can worry about that later. First thing we should do now is head back to the great hall and tell everyone else what just happened.
Ran Mōri: Right...
Mannequin: ...
A trapdoor springs open to reveal another mannequin. It moves under the speaking tube before shutting down.
Conan Edogawa: (A replacement comes out if the mannequin is broken... That's only a natural precaution, I guess.)
Conan Edogawa: (Wait, what's this white thing on the ground?)
Conan notices a ball of cotton on the ground.
Conan Edogawa: (There's nothing but a lamp in this room. Where could the cotton have fallen from?)
Kogorō Mōri: Hey, kid, we've got the parts. Time to head back now.
Conan Edogawa: Right...
Despite the bizarre incident, they manage to walk out of the room with a vibrating plate for the music box.
Conan's group describes to the others everything that happened in the Commandments Room.
Tōru Amuro: From the sound of it, I'd have to say someone's out for blood...
Conan Edogawa: I agree. In Lyria-san's case picking up the bell made the mannequin help rather than attack her.
Sarya: With the failed kidnapping, perhaps the perpetrator has gotten desperate.
Katalina: Ran, do you have any idea why someone might go after you?
Ran Mōri: No.
(This is a game after all...)
Carolina: I can't stay in this creepy place a moment longer! When's the soonest we can depart?
Nelly: We all feel the same way, Carolina.
Sarya: I know how you feel, but we should be relieved that we have all the music box parts now.
Sarya: Let's get to putting it together so we can find a way out of here.
Finding her suggestion to be the most logical course of action, they follow the steps written on the parchment to assemble the music box.
Ran Mōri: Hm? Where are we supposed to stick the pins we collected?
Sarya: That's something we won't know until we solve the puzzle on this parchment.
Kogorō Mōri: Another puzzle, huh...
Vyrn: Let's get this thing figured and get the music box up and running, (Captain).

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 3: Investigations and Puzzle-Solving - Episode 4: Scene 2 - Incorrect Answer

The tune of the assembled music box brings forth from below a room enclosed in a massive cage. Everyone looks on with fevered anticipation as its door slowly creaks open.

Vyrn: How 'bout this!
Katalina: Our solution to the last part of the puzzle was maybe a bit too forced.
Kogorō Mōri: W-well, that's just the way these things are!
Tōru Amuro: I believe we can expect a wonderful tune if we get it right.
Ran turns the handle, bringing about the full force of a hideous cacophony.
Vyrn: Brrgwaah! Make it stop!
Lyria: Um... Was there something off about that?
Conan Edogawa: Hey, isn't this pin right here in the wrong place?
Sarya: This one too! Let's get them in order.
Conan and Sarya swiftly put the pins in their proper places.
Tōru Amuro: There, it should be a perfect fit this time. Ran-san, can you give the handle another go?
Ran Mōri: Okay!
Lyria: Wow, what a beautiful melody!
Leila: Does it feel like the mansion's shaking to anyone else?
Tōru Amuro: The gears behind the wall have been set into motion. That giant contraption by the ceiling is moving too.
The gears above the suspended mesh ceiling set the tone with their loud creaking.
Lyria: Is that the work of the mannequins too? But there aren't any of them here.
Daniela: The speaking tube beneath the music box serves as a conduit to relay instructions to the mannequins in each room.
Katalina: It's just like when we entered through the double doors. The melody is being heard elsewhere too.
Tōru Amuro: The floor's opening up. Stand back, everyone!
A large rectangular portion of the far back of the great hall slides open to reveal the underground passage.
Although there was nothing in the ditch before, a room enclosed within a giant cage appears, floating to the surface with a loud rumble.
Vyrn: Talk about a curveball. Sure wasn't expecting a room to come out of the floor!
Conan Edogawa: (This room coming out into the open has changed the flow of the water. It's all gone underneath the ditch.
Conan Edogawa: (I thought that was the watermill I saw for a second. Could there be something beneath the ditch?)
Ran Mōri: Looks like we scored a bingo, Conan-kun!
Conan Edogawa: Yeah, we did it!
Content with the progress made thus far, a wave of joy sweeps across all present.
Their hearts swell with anticipation as the door to the newly appeared room slowly creaks open.

The tune of the assembled music box brings forth from below a room enclosed in a massive cage. Everyone looks on with fevered anticipation as its door slowly creaks open.

Vyrn: How 'bout this!
Conan Edogawa: Fits like a charm.
Tōru Amuro: Playing the music box will reveal whether we have the pins in the correct places or not.
Ran Mōri: Well, let's turn the handle and find out!
Lyria: Wow, what a beautiful melody!
Leila: Does it feel like the mansion's shaking to anyone else?

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 4: For Whom the Bell Tolls - Episode 1

Further puzzle-solving in the newly-surfaced room unveils a hint about the hatch leading underground, which Conan had already discovered earlier. While he ruminates on the culprit's true intentions, a shower of bells suddenly rains down from the ceiling, causing mannequins to start rampaging.

With the music box assembled, a new room has appeared toward the back of the great hall.
The door creaks open to reveal a decent-sized treasure chest placed on a fancy pedestal.
Vyrn: Heheh, let's get in there already!
Kogorō Mōri: Ran, you stay here.
Ran Mōri: Good idea... The perpetrator might come back after all.
Katalina: I'll stay behind too. The more of us fighters around when something goes wrong, the better.
Lyria: If Katalina's going to stay, then so will I.
Conan Edogawa: Me too, Ran.
Ran Mōri: You should go, Conan-kun.
Ran Mōri: It feels like we're reaching the climax of this mystery, and Amuro-san could probably use the help.
Conan Edogawa: You're right...
Conan Edogawa: (I suppose Ran should be safe with the old man and Katalina-san...)
They open the chest and out rolls a worn-out piece of parchment and a pendant encasing a large transparent stone.
Barawa grabs the parchment and reads the text written over the strange, speckled pattern.
Barawa: "Congratulations on solving the mystery! The sealed door has opened at last. My spectating ends here."
Barawa: "Behold as I leap from the darkness and into your floral embrace."
Vyrn: Congratulations, huh? Does this mean we got through every puzzle there is?
Sarya: I'm not feeling enough accomplishment if this is really the last of it.
Sarya: Is that supposed to be the treasure?
Carolina: I find that hard to believe. The stone within appears to be little more than the type of shoddy rock that a child might use as a plaything.
Vyrn: How'd you know from just lookin' at it?
Carolina: I'm in the jewelry business. It's my job to be familiar with all sorts of rocks.
Carolina: This one in particular has special properties. Look at the parchment through it and a special drawing should pop up.
Vyrn: Ooh, I wanna see!
Conan Edogawa: Me too!
Conan grabs the items and views the parchment through the pendant.
Conan Edogawa: (Looks like some sort of prism effect where light of a specific wavelength alters the colors perceived, making the pattern look different.)
Conan Edogawa: The effect applies only on certain letters... We're probably supposed to read it in this order.
Sarya: "Leap from the darkness and into greater heights. Then descend from the floral embrace. Only then will the sealed object manifest."
Tōru Amuro: Any chance that "darkness" is a reference to the Twilight Room?
Conan Edogawa: I doubt it. The places outlined on this map indicate otherwise.
Sarya: See, this is where we opened up that hatch to save Lyria-san and Ran-san.
Conan Edogawa: (Looks like we got ahead of ourselves and opened up a key component of the final puzzle in advance.)
Conan Edogawa: (They even know about the trapdoors and everything behind the walls. Who could the perp possibly be?)
Conan Edogawa: (Of course, I can't rule out that the supposedly deceased owner of this mansion is actually alive and has been playing us the whole time...)
Conan Edogawa: (But in that case, there's no way they'd bother coming up with all these puzzles only for us to plunder their treasure. Makes a lot more sense for the culprit to be one of us.)
Tōru Amuro: There's a lift underground. Making use of it seems like the most logical fit for "leap from the darkness and into greater heights."
Conan Edogawa: But there's a lock on the lift, rendering it unusable. Likely the perpetrator's doing.
Sarya: What makes you think that?
Conan Edogawa: The lift was used shortly before I arrived. And there was no puzzle associated with the lock.
Tōru Amuro: So we need a key...
Leila: Hm? Did you think of something, mister?
Tōru Amuro: No, I was just thinking that we'll have to figure out who the perpetrator is and have them remove the padlock if we want to use the lift.
Lyria's Voice: Oh no!
Vyrn: All that bell racket has got the mannequins coming in droves!
Conan Edogawa: (Ran... It can't be!)
Edogawa Conan: We're heading back!
Lyria: Eep!
Ran Mōri: Haaah!
Ran Mōri: Lyria-chan, are you okay?
Lyria: Ran-san, behind you!
Ran Mōri: Huh?
Katalina: Are you okay?
Ran Mōri: Yeah, I'm fine.
Kogorō Mōri: Damn, the double doors won't open! But we've solved all those puzzles! Did the perp set us up?
Small bells from the ceiling had suddenly rained down on them en masse.
Lured by the incessant noise, sword-swinging mannequins appear one after another out of the rooms where music box parts were stored.
Katalina: Every step we take rings the bells, causing more of them to come at us... There'll be no end to them even if we fight.
Lyria: Does this mean Ran-san is being targeted again?
Ran Mōri: I guess that's what it comes down to...
Kogorō Mōri: Ran, forget about the double doors. Our escape's this way!
Ran Mōri: Okay!
Katalina: Kogorō, may I ask that you look over Lyria as well?
Kogorō Mōri: Of course! Come, Lyria-chan!
Lyria: On my way!
Barawa: What do you say we show these ding-dong-loving scraps of metal some manners?
Conan Edogawa: And I'll pick up the bells! The mannequins should stop moving if we can cancel out the noise!
Tōru Amuro: I filled up the treasure chest from earlier with water. Putting the bells in here should stop the ringing!
Katalina: Can you two handle it?
Conan Edogawa: Yeah, leave it to us!
Tōru Amuro: We might have trouble with the mannequins though! I hope you'll be close by if things go bad!
Katalina: You can count on it!
Vyrn: Get ready, (Captain)!

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 4: For Whom the Bell Tolls - Episode 2

After the mannequins are taken care of, Conan heads to the underground passage again in search of clues. Amuro carries out his own investigation as well. They each come to their own conclusions about the perpetrator.

Katalina: Phew...
Conan Edogawa: That should be all the bells.
Carolina: I am in awe... How could such a thing happen?
Daniela: Lyria! Are you okay?
Lyria: Yes! All thanks to Ran-san and Kogorō-san keeping me safe!
Conan digs his way through the piles of mannequins lying on the ground and uncovers a basket.
Conan Edogawa: (The massive heap of bells that came falling down was probably placed in here.)
Conan Edogawa: (That's what it seemed like to Ran at least, but who could have been up there?)
Conan looks up and sees a large gear turning in place.
Conan Edogawa: (Someone used the lift earlier. It's possible they snuck up there at that time...)
Conan Edogawa: (But everyone in this game should have made an appearance by now. Did the perp use some kind of trick we don't know about?)
Conan Edogawa: (Hm? There's something else on the ground...)
Conan picks up a long wire bent at a right angle.
Conan Edogawa: (One end is bent into the shape of a hook just large enough to get caught on the handle of the basket.
Conan Edogawa: (And there's lint on the other end...)
Conan Edogawa: Sniff...
Tōru Amuro: Have you found something?
Conan Edogawa: Yeah... I noticed the smell of burnt wire and found this.
Barawa: Yeeowch!
Conan Edogawa: ...?
Sarya: Detective, is everything okay?
Barawa: Oh, sorry. The weight of the door must've caused it to open up naturally... Banged my head against it.
Conan Edogawa: (The door opened up on its own?)
Conan Edogawa: (I get it now...)
Barawa: Katalina, about this crystal that Sarya found when we were collecting music box parts in the Twilight Room...
Katalina: I'd recognize that anywhere—it's dark essence. But such a small fragment shouldn't hold much power.
Lyria: I felt a presence before picking up the bell earlier. Come to think of it, that presence might have been this.
Sarya: The perpetrator must have dropped it when escaping into the Twilight Room after the failed kidnapping.
Sarya: Though I'm not sure whether they threw it out because of how dark it was in there, or because they figured no one would find it.
Conan Edogawa: Wow, I've never seen anything like this! Can I get a better look?
Katalina: I'm sorry, but dark essence can be extremely dangerous. We can't just hand it over to a child.
Conan Edogawa: Dark essence? What's that?
Katalina: Crystals imbued with special power that are manufactured by the Erste Empire. They can lure monsters and even turn people into living weapons.
Conan Edogawa: Lyria-san can sense dark essence without even seeing it?
Lyria: So you heard about that. Yes, it's true.
Conan Edogawa: Katalina-san too?
Katalina: No, only Lyria is capable of doing that.
Conan Edogawa: (As I thought... Something still doesn't fit though.)
Conan Edogawa: (If Lyria-san's the sole target, then why go after Ran now?)
Conan Edogawa: (And I still have no idea how they got that bell on Ran in the first place...)
Conan Edogawa: (Wait... There was one person who was able to get behind Ran...)
Conan Edogawa: (Either way that wouldn't be proof enough... I need something more concrete...)
Tōru Amuro: ...
Amuro watches Conan pensively from behind before returning to Ran and the others.
Kogorō Mōri: Geez, what in the world is going on here? Didn't we come here to solve a mystery?
Ran Mōri: I'm sure everything that just happened is all connected to the mystery.
Kogorō Mōri: Someone wanna tell me why Ran has to be a victim in all this for it to work?
Kogorō Mōri: And they're pretty relentless about it too. Usually wouldn't you wait for things to cool down a bit before striking again?
Conan and Amuro: ...!
Conan Edogawa: (It's all coming together!)
Tōru Amuro: (Now I get it. I should check out that place just to be sure.)
Conan Edogawa: Hey, Daniela-san? There's something I need.
Daniela: Hm? And what might that be?
Conan Edogawa: Well...
Psst, psst...
Tōru Amuro: Carolina-san, if I may be so bold as to ask a favor of you...
Carolina: Yes? How can I help?
Leila: Oh, I know! You need some light, right? Here, use this!
Leila places a box containing candles and matches in Amuro's hands.
Tōru Amuro: Ah... You certainly figured that out fast.
Leila: Hah. Don't forget we're detectives in our own way too—even if it's only make-believe.
Leila: Besides... I was hoping to give a present to someone as handsome and suave as you!
Leila: Hahaha...
Puzzled by Leila's behavior as she skips away, Amuro opens the box.
Tōru Amuro: (My goodness...)
Meanwhile Conan has gone behind the wall in the Lost and Found room and is walking along a speaking tube.
Faint Voice: ...!
Conan Edogawa: (Hm? What's happening?)
Conan Edogawa: (I shut off the bug during the initial incident, but I was still able to notice something off with Ran and them...)
Conan Edogawa: (Katalina's voice was audible only because of something located in this area.)
Conan flashes a light on the pipes with his wristwatch to find the end of a speaking tube extending all the way from another room.
Conan Edogawa: Found it!
Conan Edogawa: (Eureka. This means everything that person said fits the bill.)
Conan Edogawa: (I'm starting to see how it all played out... Between those three girls...)
Conan Edogawa: The guilty one's her!

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 4: For Whom the Bell Tolls - Episode 3

In the underground passage, Amuro uses wire to break open the lock on the lift and gain access to it. As he continues searching for leads, a mysterious figure calls out to him. Meanwhile Conan uses his tranquilizer gun on Kogorō to activate his "sleeping" mode, in which the bearded detective briefly becomes a master sleuth.

Tōru Amuro: ...
Amuro applies the wire hidden between the matches to open the padlock on the lift, using it to descend.
With a lit candle in hand, Amuro searches the area around the lift and finds a fence laced with faint traces of charcoal.
Tōru Amuro: (The shape and smell suggest yarn was being burned here.)
???: Hehehe... It appears you've arrived at the truth as well.
Tōru Amuro: And you are?
???: You should already know my name at the very least.
Tōru Amuro: Oh, that's how you want to play it.
Tōru Amuro: So what is it you want with me?
???: I have in my possession what I consider highly valuable information. Obviously I'm not going to simply give it to you.
???: However, here's an idea. Why don't you and I cut a deal?
Tōru Amuro: ...
Conan Edogawa: (Problem is I can't replicate the trick.)
Conan Edogawa: (I can't very well just ring the bell in my hand in front of everyone and expose them to the sword-swinging mannequins again.)
Conan Edogawa: (The lift's lock won't open up unless I figure out who the perp is. I need to lure them out somehow...)
Kogorō Mōri: I've figured out the criminal mastermind behind this all!
Conan Edogawa: (His voice is coming from the speaking tube connected to the great hall!)
Katalina: Are you absolutely certain about that?
Kogorō Mōri: Of course! Nothing gets past a great detective like me!
Sarya: I sure hope you're right this time...
Barawa: Lay it on us, Kogorō.
Kogorō Mōri: It's...
Kogorō Mōri: You!
Kogorō points a finger straight at Carolina.
Carolina: Me again?
Ran Mōri: Wait a minute! Didn't we come to the conclusion earlier that Carolina-san can't be the one responsible?
Kogorō Mōri: The facts got a little cloudy, but let's not forget there was never any conclusive evidence that she's not the perp!
Ran Mōri: Even then...
Kogorō Mōri: Let's be honest here: any one of you three had ample opportunity to pull off everything that's occurred today.
Kogorō Mōri: Except there's only a single person who had motive to go after Ran's life!
Carolina: And what might that motive be?
Kogorō Mōri: I remember all too well how you presented Ran with a candle when we first bumped into each other.
Kogorō Mōri: But the candle crumpled into pieces when it fell to the ground after her fingers slipped. And you just couldn't get over it.
Sarya: Really now...
Carolina: If I may speak for myself... You must be out of your mind if you think I would commit murder over a broken candle!
Leila: They're handmade and really fragile. But all we'd have to do is pick up the pieces and melt and reshape them for the candles to be as good as new!
Nelly: Carolina, being the klutz that she is, drops them all the time.
Carolina: D-do we really need to bring that up now?
Barawa: Kogorō, do you have any other evidence?
Kogorō Mōri: W-well...
Conan Edogawa: ...
Kogorō Mōri: Hrgh!
Kogorō Mōri: ...
Barawa: Kogorō, what's the matter!
Kogorō Mōri: It's nothing. Just a bit of fatigue setting in from all that chatter.
Sarya: Wait... Is this the famed Sleeping Kogorō we're seeing?
Ran Mōri: That's right. Dad always gets like this when he buckles down for a case.
Kogorō Mōri: Enough banter. Listen up, because I'm about to blow the lid off our perp.
Carolina: So? Who is it?
Kogorō Mōri: It's you.
Kogorō Mōri: Daniela-san!
Lyria and Others: Wha!
Ran and Others: You're kidding!
Daniela: M-me?
Panic streaks across Daniela's face.
Conan is careful to catch every moment of the scene.

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 4: For Whom the Bell Tolls - Episode 4

When it becomes clear that Daniela, who hopes to reclaim Lyria for the Erste Empire, is the one pulling the strings, she blows on her flute to order mannequins to capture Lyria. She then activates a weapon of destruction before running off.

Daniela: How am I the culprit?
Nelly: Impossible. I mean...
Leila: Yowzers. And you call yourself a detective? How about you give us a play-by-play of how it all went down?
Kogorō Mōri: I'll try to go in order, starting with the failed kidnapping.
Kogorō Mōri: After entering the Twilight Room, you snuck out after making sure no one was left in the great hall.
Kogorō Mōri: Then you entered the underground passage through the hatch, and then went all the way to the Lost and Found Room where Lyria-chan was.
Kogorō Mōri: From there you removed one of the speaking tube's joints—
Kogorō Mōri: And threw a bell inside.
Kogorō Mōri: You tuned in on everyone's conversation and confirmed that Lyria-chan had picked up the bell. You tossed a smoke bomb in the room next.
Lyria: Eep! What is this?
Kogorō Mōri: While the mannequin was busy capturing Lyria-chan in response to the bell, you went back the way you came.
Daniela: ...
Kogorō Mōri: While leading the mannequin with your own bell, you went all the way to the underground lift.
Lyria: Eek!
Kogorō Mōri: You had the mannequin drop Lyria-chan into the ditch. You planned on rescuing her to gain her trust.
Kogorō Mōri: Because then she'd never doubt you as you led her into thinking you'd be bringing her to the exit.
Kogorō Mōri: But then something unexpected happened...
Ran Mōri: Lyria-chan, hold on tight!
Kogorō Mōri: When Ran grabbed Lyria-chan up from the ditch, you lost your chance to fool her.
Kogorō Mōri: Forced to give up Lyria-chan, you moved on to the next phase of the plan.
Carolina: Something doesn't add up. Isn't Ran-san the one who's been targeted just now?
Carolina: Your version of what happened makes it sound like the perpetrator was after Lyria-chan all along.
Kogorō Mōri: No, everything that's happened so far has been a ploy to capture Lyria-chan.
Kogorō Mōri: Daniela-san needed to ensure that it was Lyria-chan who would pick up the bell.
Kogorō Mōri: That's why you used a piece of dark essence, which can only be detected by Lyria-chan, to lure her.
Daniela: You're implying that I knew Lyria-san was in the room to begin with.
Daniela: Don't tell me you've forgotten our team was the first to go off looking for music box parts. I couldn't have known which room Lyria-san was in.
Kogorō Mōri: The solution to that's a simple one. There's a place in the great hall where all the speaking tubes converge: right beneath the music box.
Kogorō Mōri: Take a short detour there, and it's immediately obvious where Lyria-chan is.
Daniela: But I didn't even know the speaking tubes were—
Kogorō Mōri: Oh, no you don't! Here's what you said...
Daniela: The speaking tube beneath the music box serves as a conduit to relay instructions to the mannequins in each room.
Daniela: That was only a guess based on how it was when we first opened the double doors.
Kogorō Mōri: I suppose that is a possibility. But there are other things that gave you away.
Nelly: Answer us this before you continue...
Nelly: You flat out said that the end goal was to kidnap Lyria.
Nelly: But it was clearly Ran-san who was targeted next. You're not making any sense.
Kogorō Mōri: There's an easy explanation for that.
Kogorō Mōri: After the botched abduction, Katalina-san grew more cautious than ever. You completely lost your chance to even get close to Lyria-chan.
Kogorō Mōri: Going after Lyria-chan and making use of dark essence makes it clear that the perpetrator belongs to, or is in cahoots with, the Erste Empire.
Kogorō Mōri: And anyone in the empire would know how strong Katalina-san is. Getting past her would have been near impossible.
Sarya: So you're saying Ran-san was targeted to divert Katalina's attention?
Kogorō Mōri: Absolutely. Though it was only a coincidence, Ran went underground with Lyria-chan too.
Daniela: How about you tell us when I could have possibly had the chance to put the bell on Ran-san?
Kogorō Mōri: You had every chance to slip it on her when Candle Investigations was giving out snacks and being all nice to Ran.
Kogorō Mōri: Carolina-san with the snacks, Nelly-san with the potpourri, and Leila-san with the sewing kit.
Kogorō Mōri: When you dried Ran's hair for her, it couldn't have been easier to sneak a bell onto that towel.
Daniela: Okay, now you're just mudslinging! Anyone could've stuck the bell on when you weren't paying attention.
Kogorō Mōri: Let's look at this from another point of view. Think back to the moment the bell on Ran sounded.
Kogorō Mōri: Ran had to have had the bell on her already before entering the Commandments Room.
Kogorō Mōri: But it didn't ring at first. Not until a certain point did we hear the sudden chiming.
Leila: Oh, I know! It was when she stepped on the trap, right?
Kogorō Mōri: Yeah, and there's a very good reason why Daniela-san went through all that trouble.
Kogorō Mōri: The bell didn't ring at first because Daniela-san stuffed its insides with cotton to prevent the pendulum within from swinging.
Kogorō Mōri: She intentionally stepped on the trap as a means of shaking the cotton off Ran's bell. The buzzing of the trap leading to the chiming of the bell can be chalked up to resonance oscillation.
Vyrn: Reso-what?
Kogorō Mōri: There's a famous experiment where one vibrating tuning fork causes a neighboring tuning fork to start vibrating.
Kogorō Mōri: Every body of matter comes with its own distinct natural frequency. Getting struck with vibrational energy of identical hertz can be enough for an object to oscillate.
Kogorō Mōri: Given that mannequins distinguish their commands by the pitch of specific sounds, it's clear as day that the trap and the bell operated under the same frequency.
Kogorō Mōri: Higher frequency cycles would reduce surface friction drag. So dropping the cotton through vibration is more than possible.
Barawa: Um, Sarya. Think you can explain that in English?
Sarya: Sorry... Too much esoteric jargon in there. I think I picked up the main idea though.
Sarya: To put it simply, Daniela appears to be the only one who could have been behind the attacks on Ran-san.
Leila: Hm, I figured it wasn't like her to trip up over something so simple.
Daniela: L-Leila... You suspect me too?
Leila: Of course not! I'm on your side!
Leila: I mean, when all those bells fell in the great hall, you were right there with us. There's not a chance you could've pulled that off.
Kogorō Mōri: Oh, it's definitely feasible.
Kogorō Mōri: Just from Lyria-chan's kidnapping, it's evident that the perp is extremely cautious and always plans ahead.
Kogorō Mōri: Daniela-san prepared a basket littered with bells just in case things went south.
Kogorō Mōri: And when the abduction failed, you brought the basket up via the lift.
Kogorō Mōri: You're up, Conan!
Conan Edogawa: Yeah, I've got this!
Conan Edogawa: I'd prefer to demonstrate with the actual lift, but I'll have to use this steel net I found in the Cryptography Room as a pretend-cage.
Conan Edogawa: First you gather up wire from the collapsed mannequins. Tie them all together with yarn to make a cage...
Conan Edogawa: Tie one end of a different wire to the cage—that's the first knot. Tie the hook end to the cage for the second knot, and hang the bell-laden basket on the hook.
Conan Edogawa: Now we just need to light a fire to this longer end.
Leila: Here's a match. Got it from Nelly earlier.
Conan Edogawa: Thanks!
Conan Edogawa: Light the yarn and let the lift take the cage up to the ceiling.
Conan Edogawa: As the fire travels up the yarn, the second knot is burned away.
Conan Edogawa: The weight of the basket causes the hooked end of the wire to swing away from the cage, and the basket lands on a ceiling gear.
Sarya: Ah, everything's happening as you describe it!
Conan Edogawa: Eventually the flame burns away the first tied knot too.
Conan Edogawa: And the basket completely slips off the cage.
Conan Edogawa: With construction of the music box in the great hall completed, the churning of the gears in the ceiling pushes aside the basket...
Conan Edogawa: Thereby causing the literal bell shower.
Conan Edogawa: That sound about right, Kogorō?
Kogorō Mōri: Bingo.
Kogorō Mōri: That's what the padlock on the lift was for. It absolutely had to be in position for the trick to work.
Leila: That's way impressive! If you can get everything in place, dropping the basket without actually going up there yourself definitely sounds viable!
Daniela: Enough with the armchair theories! Can you prove I actually pulled off something so outrageous?
Daniela: Suppose the basket was on the gear. There's no way I'd be able to ensure it'd fall down where we stand.
Daniela: Unless you can reconstruct the trick, I suggest you stop the baseless conjecture and lay off the blame game!
Conan Edogawa: (What was that?)
A padlock in the great hall falls to the ground without warning.
Conan notices a bent wire still stuck in the keyhole of the padlock and realizes the hidden message being conveyed.
Daniela: Isn't that padlock from the lift?
Kogorō Mōri: How do you even know that? You haven't gone down the underground passage once.
Daniela: ...!
Conan Edogawa: (So that's what Amuro-san has been up to all this time.)
Kogorō Mōri: Anyhoo, back to the topic at hand, is there anything you might associate with the yarn and cotton used in this crime?
Katalina: Well, both are used for sewing...
Ran Mōri: It was a sewing kit that Daniela-san used to mend the tear on my shirt if I'm not mistaken...
Conan Edogawa: I couldn't find any yarn in the mansion, so the stuff I used for the demonstration just now came from Daniela-san.
Leila: Pull the needles out of a pincushion, and you'll have your cotton.
Kogorō Mōri: Can I make it any clearer than it already is? Every single piece of evidence points to her being the culprit.
Kogorō Mōri: Fess up already, Daniela-san! You're the only one who could've been responsible for all three incidents today!
Daniela: ...
Silence fills the air as none are able to challenge Sleeping Kogorō's flawless deduction.
Nelly: No way... Daniela...
Carolina: What hogwash is this! Was it your plan all along to sputter a rapid stream of superfluous verbiage in hopes of rattling us, Detective?
Carolina: You still haven't properly proven the oscilla—or whatever you call that thing! To claim such a phenomenon would loosen the cotton is preposterous!
Daniela: Believe me—it works... I've tried it at home so many times...
Her calm demeanor takes a one-eighty as she suddenly puts on a creepy grin.
Daniela: Heh... If you want proof that bad, then I'll give it to you right here, right now!
Daniela produces a flute from her belongings and blows it forcefully.
Mannequin: ...!
The melody from her flute breathes life into the dormant mannequins strewn about the great hall. They all rise and face in her direction.
Those with minimal injuries are quick to surround and protect Daniela.
Vyrn: Whoa, maybe you should just chill...
Lyria: Daniela, no...
Lyria: Huh? Where's that noise coming from?
Conan Edogawa: (More cotton by Lyria-san's feet! But when did it get there?)
The chiming of bells fills the great hall once more. The mannequins gathered around Daniela set their sights on Lyria.
Katalina: Uh-oh! Lyria, fall back!
Barawa: They're coming from behind too!
Lyria: Aah!
Perhaps drawn by the sound, mannequins appear from the Cryptography Room as well to seize Lyria.
Katalina: Lyria!
Daniela: Don't move!
The flute dangling in her hands, Daniela glares at (Captain) and the others.
Daniela: I only have to will it, and the mannequins will slaughter you all. Drop your weapons if you want to live!
Katalina: Rgh!
Lyria: Katalina...
Left with little recourse, (Captain) orders everyone to drop their armaments.
Conan Edogawa: (Rats, we don't stand a chance!)
Daniela plays a low-pitched sound, ordering the mannequins to bring Lyria to her.
Daniela: Lieutenant Katalina... You weren't easy to deal with. Then again, it's not such a surprise considering you did manage to flee the empire with the girl in blue.
Daniela: But you made a grave mistake. Taking your eyes off Lyria during the turmoil earlier was your undoing!
Katalina: So that's when you had your chance...
Daniela: You fell for my ruse hook, line, and sinker. And I'm all too grateful for it.
Daniela: But enough talk. Keep your mouths shut and clear the way.
Under the protection of her mannequin army, Daniela leads Lyria to the hatch and shoves her underground.
When the girl in blue is no longer in sight, a smug expression streaks across Daniela's face as she eyes everyone else.
Daniela: I'll leave you with a souvenir—a nightmare you're not soon to forget.
She plays another melody on her flute, causing the room that surfaced in the great hall to vibrate, which causes a black shadow to come forth.
???: ...
Vyrn: Phooey! What is it this time?
???: ...!
Kogorō Mōri: ...
Kogorō Mōri: ...!
The heck is that?
Conan Edogawa: This way, old man!
Daniela: Humph...
Conan Edogawa: She plans on getting to the lift to escape! We need to give chase right away!
Katalina: As soon as we take care of this thing blocking our way!
  1. Let's get this over with!

Choose: Let's get this over with!
Vyrn: Right on! Lyria's waiting for us!

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - The Trade-Off

When Daniela arrives at the rooftop, Amuro is there and has already done away with the imperial airship that was waiting for her. She then activates explosives in the mansion, forcing Amuro to leave Lyria for the moment in order to save everyone else.

Vyrn: Okay! Time to rescue Lyria!
Katalina: Conan-kun, can you take us to the lift?
Conan Edogawa: Of course. This way!
Daniela: Where's my airship!
Amuro's Voice: Heh... Is that what you call those flying ships?
Amuro slowly approaches from the corner.
Tōru Amuro: What a beautiful view we have today. The skies stretch as far as our naked eyes can see, and we're standing on a floating island.
Tōru Amuro: Who would've thought the world outside the mansion was so beautiful.
Daniela: You! What have you done with the agents who were stationed here?
Tōru Amuro: Oh, I simply taught them some manners. I doubt they'll be returning anytime soon.
Lyria: How did you...
Daniela: You shut your mouth!
Tōru Amuro: I received word from a certain someone that your reinforcements would be waiting for you here.
Tōru Amuro: So I took preemptive measures. I'm here to beat this game after all.
Amuro saunters over to a door engraved with the carving of a flower on it.
He flips a switch to open the door, giving way to a path spiraling downward.
Tōru Amuro: "Leap from the darkness and into greater heights. Then descend from the floral embrace."
Tōru Amuro: The final set of instructions was to go down this chute, wasn't it?
Amuro stands before the spiral slide with his arms crossed.
Tōru Amuro: So with your airship beating an early retreat...
Tōru Amuro: And me blocking your way through the Floral Door—which only opened up after the music box in the main hall played...
Tōru Amuro: Surely you can see that there's no escape for you.
Daniela: Wipe that cocky grin off your face... Unless you want the hostage to suffer!
Lyria: Eep!
Tōru Amuro: ...
Daniela: Where'd you get that bell!
Tōru Amuro: I've been holding on to the first bell that Lyria-san picked up.
Drawn to the chime, the mannequins let go of Lyria and make their way toward Amuro.
Tōru Amuro: ...
Lyria: Wow, wow, wow! You beat them all...
Tōru Amuro: Well now, how about you give Lyria back?
Tōru Amuro: The fact that you have to rely on those mannequins shows that you're rather defenseless yourself... I suggest you don't resist any further.
A sudden explosion rocks the entire mansion.
Tōru Amuro: It's coming from below!
Daniela: Unfortunately for you, the weapon I called out is capable of wrecking the entire hideout.
Daniela: You might've caught me here, but this building's going to collapse any moment now.
Tōru Amuro: ...!
Daniela: The only way your friends are getting out of this alive are by running back out the double doors they came from or traversing the underground cave that continues from this chute.
Daniela: And I hope you haven't forgotten I had those doors sealed shut.
Tōru Amuro: ...!
Daniela: Of course, I wouldn't be too surprised if a man of your talents were somehow able to open the doors and save your friends.
Lyria: Amuro-san... Please go...
Tōru Amuro: But...
Lyria: It looks like this person isn't here to take my life. But she definitely didn't hesitate to hurt Ran-san!
Lyria: And she probably won't hesitate to wipe out everyone down there! Please go help them!
Tōru Amuro: But no matter how you slice it—
Lyria: It doesn't matter if it's another trap! Conan and the rest of them need your help!
Tōru Amuro: ...
Lyria: Please, Amuro-san...
Though Lyria trembles in fear, Amuro can clearly sense the firm resolve in her heart.
Tōru Amuro: (The chance to save Lyria-san will come again...)
Tōru Amuro: (Retreat is my best option right now.)
Faced with an impossible decision, Amuro distances himself from the Floral Door.
Daniela: Attaboy. We're going, Lyria.
Daniela grabs hold of the girl in blue and plunges down the slide.
A stern look washes over Amuro's face as he watches her escape, explosions continuing to go off one after another below him.
To be continued...

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 5: Guilty Gears and Dynamite - Episode 1

Amuro meets up with a few others in the attic. While Katalina goes off alone to find Lyria, the remaining members must either disarm all the explosives or escape through the double doors if they wish to survive. Conan's group gets to work on the former.

Katalina: So Lyria's underground...
Having reunited with the others in the attic of the mansion, Amuro describes everything that happened earlier on the roof.
Vyrn: That's just downright rotten... I can't imagine how Lyria's taking this...
Filled with rage, (Captain)'s hands curl into fists.
Katalina: Amuro, you made the right choice by letting Daniela take Lyria somewhere free of explosions.
Conan Edogawa: We need to catch up fast though. Even if Lyria-san's life isn't in jeopardy, we have no idea what Daniela-san has in store for her.
Katalina: My thoughts exactly.
Katalina: I'll go down the chute and try to find them. Does that work for you, (Captain)?
  1. Mm-hm. Good luck! We need our Lyria!

Choose: Mm-hm. Good luck! We need our Lyria!
Vyrn: We'll take care of things here.
Hope you can lend us a hand, Apprentice D!
Tōru Amuro: You can count on it.
Katalina scurries along a platform along the wall to reach the rooftop.
Tōru Amuro: Conan-kun, can you tell me everything that happened down there while I was away?
Conan Edogawa: The mega-cannon Daniela-san had activated scattered dynamite all over the mansion.
Conan Edogawa: They're the old-fashioned TNT-type. Cutting their fuses short would be an easy fix.
Conan Edogawa: But there's simply way too many of them to go around defusing!
Tōru Amuro: Daniela-san sure left us a lot of time before the explosives go off though...
Conan Edogawa: The lengths of the fuses were adjusted so that the dynamite will detonate all at once.
Tōru Amuro: Makes sense. A large, singular explosion would cause significantly more damage than multiple smaller ones.
Conan Edogawa: That's the gist of it.
Conan Edogawa: The smaller explosions earlier damaged the lift beyond repair.
Conan Edogawa: Our only chance at saving everyone is to either defuse all the dynamite, or to open the double doors before this building collapses!
Vyrn: Apprentice D, isn't there any way to stop this place from going kerplunk?
Tōru Amuro: I can't say anything for certain until we find out where the dynamite is located...
Conan Edogawa: Let's split up and track them down.
Vyrn: If you happen to retrieve any dynamite, bring it to us so (Captain) here can cut the fuses with their trusty sword!
Conan Edogawa: Gotcha!
It will be a race against time to save everyone before the building comes crumbling down.
Cold sweat dotting his forehead, Conan doesn't waste a second in his mad rush to find the dynamite.

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 5: Guilty Gears and Dynamite - Episode 2

Conan's team fiddles around with a set of switches in the attic to change the concatenation of the gears that control the double doors.

Sarya: It's dangerous back there! Stay by the double doors, everyone!
Barawa: Hraaagh!
Barawa shifts the weight of his entire body onto the doors, but they don't budge.
Kogorō Mōri: Blast it! We're never gonna get them open!
Ran Mōri: Eep!
The impact from the blast causes planks to come falling down one after another.
Kogorō Mōri: Tch, this place isn't gonna last much longer!
Kogorō Mōri: Ran, I need you to get everyone down into the hatch! Barawa-san and I will look for the exit!
Kogorō Mōri: Ready to do this, Barawa-san?
Barawa: I was born ready!
Sarya: Detective, I'll stay behind too!
Barawa: No! You get out of here with everyone else!
Sarya: But...
Barawa: A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do! 'Sides, my muscles are just itching for some action!
Barawa: Have a little faith!
Sarya: Hope you get to scratch that itch!
Sarya: Come on, Ran-san!
Ran Mōri: Okay!
Vyrn: So how 'bout it? Think we can keep this building intact?
Tōru Amuro: Unfortunately explosives are placed all over the key foundations of the mansion.
Conan Edogawa: We defused all the dynamite we could get our hands on in the attic, but that only bought us a few minutes.
Vyrn: Crud! How are we gonna save everyone down there?
Tōru Amuro: I found a way to open up those double doors!
Conan Edogawa: I'm not sure how everything's constructed behind the wall...
Conan Edogawa: But if we can link up the gears spinning over there to the ones that control the double doors, we just might be able to open them!
Tōru Amuro: We need to properly set all switches that control how the gears link up!
Vyrn: What do you need us to do?
Conan Edogawa: Just be sure to follow our directions!
With instructions being shouted back and forth across the attic, the four get to work changing the concatenation of the gears.
All the while the fuses of the explosives continue to shorten. The clock is ticking.

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 5: Guilty Gears and Dynamite - Episode 3

One explosive that Conan's group failed to disarm goes off, sending an essential gear rolling out of a hole in the wall. They come up with a plan to trigger another bomb blast to get a different gear of equal size into place in lieu of the original.

Conan Edogawa: All done!
Tōru Amuro: Same here!
Vyrn: We did our part too! C'mon, (Captain), we gotta get to the other side!
The quartet tweaks the linkage of the gears to build one long continuous chain that leads to the row of gears controlling the double doors.
Conan Edogawa: (Okay, flipping this last switch here should finish the job...)
Conan Edogawa: (Rgh! What is that?)
Sparks fly off the bottom of the gear that Conan was about to move.
Conan Edogawa: (Dynamite down there? That means...)
Conan Edogawa: Drat!
The dynamite explodes in the next moment, destroying the rotating shaft of the giant gear.
Having lost its support, the gear spins about like a teetotum before rolling off and then down the hole created by the explosion.
Conan Edogawa: Gimme a break! The most important piece just has to come apart at the last minute!
Vyrn: Why don't we try this linking thing again with another set of gears?
Tōru Amuro: No. Linking up with gears from anywhere else would reverse the rotation, which isn't going to help us open the double doors.
Tōru Amuro: I didn't expect dynamite to be hidden in that blind spot... I should've known better.
Vyrn: There's gotta be something we can do! We came so close!
Conan and Amuro desperately survey their surroundings.
Conan's eyes stop on a giant gear.
Conan Edogawa: (This one has about the same number of cogs as the one we just lost.)
Conan Edogawa: (And there's just enough ground to get to it... This is our only chance!)
Conan Edogawa: Amuro-san, (Captain)-san, hear me out!
Conan gathers the others to discuss their next plan of action.
As Conan divulges his plan, their eyes grow wide.
Tōru Amuro: You're saying we need to blast that gear into place with a gust of wind so we can use it in place of the one we lost?
Vyrn: Is that even possible?
Conan Edogawa: Won't know until we try.
Tōru Amuro: We'll have to flip a switch to change the direction of the chains that link the gears, and then guide this gear's trajectory the same way a ball changes course after bouncing off an incline.
Tōru Amuro: This is our last chance.
Conan Edogawa: Right!
Vyrn: I'll take another look to make sure we didn't miss any dynamite!
Vyrn: Wouldn't want the ground to crumble beneath us while getting things in motion, ya know?
Conan Edogawa: Appreciate it, Vyrn-san!
Tōru Amuro: We need to figure out the position of the switches at once!
  1. Let's get moving!

Choose: Let's get moving!

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 5: Guilty Gears and Dynamite - Episode 4

The plan succeeds and the double doors open. However, the gear that had been set into place is unable to withstand the impact and comes tumbling down from the ceiling. Thankfully the doors stay open just long enough with Barawa's help for everyone in the great hall to escape. Conan's group goes on to pursue Katalina and Lyria.

Conan Edogawa: This should do it!
Vyrn: Hope you thought of where to place the dynamite!
Tōru Amuro: Sure did! Let's get it into place!
Conan shimmies across the small platform to get next to the gear.
Conan Edogawa: Give it to me!
Vyrn: It's all yours!
(Captain) lights up the fuse to one of the explosives they had retrieved earlier, and then hands it to Conan.
Conan Edogawa: (Found the perfect spot...)
Vyrn: Kiddo Specs, you need to get back! The thing's about to go boom!
Conan Edogawa: I know!
Taking (Captain)'s hand, Conan leaps from the congestion of gears, over a fence, and back onto safe ground.
Conan Edogawa: (It's gonna blow any moment now... Three, two, one...)
Its rotating shaft destroyed, the gear spins at top speed as it flies across the attic.
Conan Edogawa: Go, go, gooo!
Bouncing off the chains set to very specific angles, the gear soars past the edge of the platform that remains from where the earlier explosion happened.
Tōru Amuro: It's in place!
Vyrn: Spin, baby, spin!
Though it continues to wobble in place, the gear links up with the row of gears that control the double doors.
Kogorō Mōri: What's that deafening racket up there?
Barawa: Kogorō, the double doors are opening!
Kogorō Mōri: No clue what we're in for, but I'll get the others!
Kogorō opens the hatch to call for the girls.
Ran Mōri: Dad, Conan-kun's still...
Kogorō Mōri: You mean he hasn't come back yet?
Leila: Oh, I'm sure they'll be safe! They escaped from the roof into the underground cave.
Ran Mōri: Are you sure?
Leila: Yeah! So we should get going too!
Nelly: C'mon, Carolina!
Carolina: I'm coming!
Sarya: Oh no! The gears are coming down!
Unable to withstand the small explosion Conan's group had caused earlier, some of the gears come falling from the ceiling.
The half-open double doors lose traction and begin to close under their own weight.
Barawa: Raaargh!
Barawa: As long as my heart's still beating, you blasted doors are never going to shut again!
Barawa: I need you all to get out now!
Sarya: Detective!
Barawa: I'll be fine! Go already!
Carolina: Agh!
The massive gear that had just fallen fast approaches Carolina from behind.
Kogorō Mōri: Watch out!
Kogorō Mōri: C'mon, let's go!
Carolina: Th-thank you... Detective...
While dodging the debris that continues to fall, all in the great hall make their escape.
Barawa: All righty...
After confirming that everyone has made it past him, Barawa too makes a break for the entrance of the mansion.
Vyrn: Looks like they're getting out okay!
Conan Edogawa: Good... We need to get out soon too.
Vyrn: Now all that's left is to find Katalina and Lyria!
The Conan group climbs up to the rooftop and dives down the slide past the Floral Door.

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 6: Treasure at Last! - Episode 1

Now in an underground cave, Daniela explains that she lost her status in the Erste Empire when Lyria escaped its clutches. She hopes to recover the lost technology left behind in this mansion by her ancestors to regain her status—presenting Lyria to the empire would simply be icing on the cake. When Daniela is focused entirely on the golem created by her ancestors, Katalina runs in to grab Lyria.

While Conan and the others were frantically trying to get the double doors open, Lyria and Daniela were traversing a dark cave underground.
Lyria: Ngh...
Daniela: Keep those feet moving. If you're expecting anyone to come rescue you, you can forget about it.
Daniela: It should be around here...
Daniela: There it is!
Daniela rushes over to the massive door towering before them.
Lyria: Is this the exit?
Daniela: Have you completely forgotten what everyone came to the mansion for in the first place?
She pulls a lever beside the door, causing it to slowly slide open.
Daniela: So this was connected to the mechanism in the great hall after all. Who'd have thought changing the flow of the water would open this up...
Daniela: Nyehehe, this couldn't go any better... I'll let you in on a secret about this mansion.
Daniela: This place was originally a research facility created by my ancestors. Advanced military weapons were being constructed here to fend off attacks from the Astrals.
Daniela: Those weapons, incorporating the golem tech that the Erste Empire has been using, possessed devastating power.
Lyria: I... never would have imagined...
Daniela: But my nimrod ancestors didn't have the sense to pass off the tech to anyone, instead choosing to seal it away in this cave along with their lives!
Daniela: Leaving behind nothing more than a letter stating, "Our treasure will reveal itself only to those with intellect enough to solve the mansion's mystery."
Lyria: If all you wanted was the treasure, why did you have us all come here?
Lyria: Not just the crew, but also everyone in Candle Investigations and Conan-kun's group...
Daniela: It all began with you and Lieutenant Katalina. When you two escaped from the empire, I had to take the blame and had my position taken away.
Daniela: It was utterly humiliating to rejoin the rank and file and receive the same demeaning treatment as all the newcomers.
Daniela: So I struck a deal with my superiors. They promised to restore my rank if I were able to recover the lost armaments of my ancestors.
Lyria: But what does that have to do with us?
Daniela: I needed you all to solve the mansion's puzzles to get this door open. I was at a loss as to how to go about it.
Daniela: I'd known about the research facility sealed away in this cave, but the only clues I could find were a floor plan of the mansion and a flute to control the mannequins.
Daniela: Both proved invaluable in capturing you, but I must admit I was pissed.
Katalina: ...!
Katalina hides in the shadows, biding for the moment when Daniela would let her guard down.
Daniela: I came up with the plan to kidnap you when I was searching for people to help me solve the mansion's mysteries.
Daniela: I assigned various detectives to go on all sorts of missions to test their worthiness. And one of them just happened to be very close to you.
Daniela: Hehehe... I trembled in rapture. While the weapons were my primary target, I realized you would make the perfect icing on the cake. Everyone in the empire would acknowledge me!
Lyria: ...
Daniela: I looked more into that detective and discovered his connections with a certain phantom thief. I figured I could easily get them both there.
Lyria: So it was you who had Carolina send out those fake invitations?
Daniela: Recruiting her was simple enough. Tracked her down to a bar and pretended to gush about Barawa in front of the girl.
Daniela: I asked her if she'd like to meet the real Barawa in person... And the rest is history.
Lyria: What a terrible thing to do. You manipulated Carolina for your own ends...
Daniela: Can you imagine my surprise when she suggested sending out invitations to another group as well so as not to give away that they're fakes?
Daniela: Heh... They've got nothing but their own bad luck to blame.
The multiple layers of doors completely open up, revealing a giant object covered in cloth in the back.
Daniela: Here we are: the legacy of my ancestors. Be glad you get a front-row seat to this.
Daniela removes the cloth in one swift stroke, her mouth agape at the massive thing before her.
???: ...
Daniela: Splendid... This is all mine...
Lyria: ...
While Daniela raises a shout of joy, Lyria is at loss for words—awestruck at the terrifying weapon of destruction before her.
Daniela: Is this the cockpit? Controls don't seem too different from the empire's golems.
Daniela: There's even a map... If I just follow the route outlined here, I should be able to get off the island with it.
Little different from a child gifted with a new toy, Daniela feverishly plays with the controls in the cockpit.
Katalina: (She's away from Lyria!)
Lyria: Ah!
Katalina: Shh, it's me. We're getting out of here.
Lyria: Okay!
Daniela: Okay... It's up and running.
Daniela: ...!
Where do you think you're going!
Not intent on letting Lyria go, Daniela surges forward with the golem.
Katalina and Lyria run as fast as they can while the ground quakes with every step the golem takes.

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 6: Treasure at Last! - Episode 2

Conan's group joins up with Katalina and Lyria and learns the true nature of the mansion's treasure. They search for the exit, careful not to be spotted by Daniela who is piloting the golem.

Tōru Amuro: Looks safe. Let's head out.
Conan and the others have made their way down from the rooftop chute.
Conan Edogawa: (The topography tells me this cave was formed naturally...)
Vyrn: Which way could Katalina have gone?
Conan Edogawa: Hey, I think there's something there.
Vyrn: "Research Facility," it says. Too dark ahead to make anything out.
Tōru Amuro: I was wondering why we didn't see anything of the sort in the mansion. Makes sense that it would be underground.
Tōru Amuro: The mannequins and the massive cannon in the great hall must have been created here.
Vyrn: The entrance is collapsed. Seems kinda risky to go in. What do we do now?
Conan Edogawa: Say, do you guys hear that too?
They perk their ears to hear the sound of metal clanking along with two sets of footsteps.
Vyrn: It's Katalina and Lyria!
Vyrn: This way, guys!
Katalina: Good to see you're all safe.
Vyrn: We sure are. And we were positive you'd get Lyria back!
Conan Edogawa: Katalina-san, where's the culprit?
Katalina: She chased us halfway here. Daniela must have turned back when we entered the narrow path.
Conan Edogawa: You mean she's riding on something too big to get in here?
Lyria: This is what happened earlier...
Lyria explains the true nature of the mansion's treasure and Daniela's motive.
Vyrn: Holy moly, I can't believe we were trying to get our hands on such a thing!
Katalina: To think that solving the mystery would open the path for such a destructive weapon...
Lyria: I'm just as shocked. We've all been through so much today...
Katalina: Perhaps my self-indulgence did cause Daniela to lose her status in the empire...
Katalina: But she's gone too far. Any sympathy I may have had for her is no more.
Vyrn: Let's just be glad you two got away safely.
Conan Edogawa: No, I doubt our culprit has already given up on them.
Tōru Amuro: Lyria-san mentioned Daniela-san has a map of the cave, right?
Tōru Amuro: It's possible she may have scouted ahead and is waiting to ambush us by the entrance.
Katalina: That is very likely, Amuro. Without a map of our own, we're at a serious disadvantage.
Lyria: Can we really make it out of here okay?
Conan Edogawa: Absolutely. I'll make sure of it...
Conan Edogawa: There's no way I'm gonna lose to a game!
Lyria: Conan-kun...
Lyria: You're right! We need to keep our spirits up!
Tōru Amuro: What say we start making some headway? I'm sure the others would love to see that Lyria-san is safe and sound.
Lyria: Let's go!
They make their way through the musty dampness of the cave.

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 6: Treasure at Last! - Episode 3

Daniela and her golem come into view. Conan and the gang lure her into charging the golem's magic cannon, exposing its vulnerabilities.

Daniela: ...
Vyrn: Wait, isn't that...
Lyria: That's the golem she found in here earlier.
After some time roaming about in the cave, the group spots the perpetrator in the distance.
Katalina: We'll have to tread through the wide open area here before the path branches off into smaller ones.
Katalina: She's blocking one path specifically. Meaning that's our exit.
Tōru Amuro: I'd wager it's our only way out of this cave!
Vyrn: Guess all that's left is to do something about the big bully that won't let us past.
Katalina: We'll have to force our way through... Though I would have preferred not to resort to that in this labyrinth of a cave...
Conan makes use of the infrared sensors on his glasses to analyze the enemy.
Conan Edogawa: There's something in her hand. Might be the map.
Tōru Amuro: That could come in handy for us. I mean, who knows how many more branching paths there are from this point onward.
Conan Edogawa: Is that some sort of cannon mounted on the golem?
Katalina: Looks to be a type of magic cannon. It takes time to charge up but can be incredibly destructive.
Conan Edogawa: (All the more reason we can't let her set it off in here...)
Conan grows nervous as small pebbles tumble from the rock ceiling.
Katalina: The advantage we have is that the golem cannot launch any powerful attacks while charging its beam cannon.
Katalina: Our best chances of making it through to the other end are getting Daniela to activate the cannon.
Conan Edogawa: What do you think of this then?
Daniela: ...
Daniela: ...!
You scoundrels again!
On Conan's signal, Amuro, (Captain), and Vyrn appear before Daniela.
Conan Edogawa: ...
Daniela: Where's the girl in blue?
Conan Edogawa: Girl in blue? If it's Lyria-san you're asking for, she's not here. She's gone back up the slide and evacuated the mansion.
Daniela: You expect me to believe such a bold-faced lie? The mansion's going to collapse any moment now. Any exit it did have is already closed off!
Tōru Amuro: What do you mean?
Vyrn: We've disarmed most of the dynamite if that's what you're talking about!
Daniela: Enough with your cock-and-bull stories! If Lyria really did get out, you'd have gone with her!
Conan Edogawa: (Guess it was too obvious...)
Conan Edogawa: (But!)
Daniela: I'm sure she's hiding around here somewhere...
Conan Edogawa: (Point is to make Daniela feel confident that she's got the upper hand...)
Conan Edogawa: (Because if she's focused on Lyria-san, she's more likely to go aggro on us!)
Vyrn: Phooey! When we say she's not here, I mean it!
Daniela: You're practically giving her up by denying it!
Daniela: I'm gonna fish her out... You just sit there and twiddle with your thumbs while Lyria cries out in terror when I find her!
Daniela pulls a lever, causing malevolent energy to gather in the cannon barrel.
Conan Edogawa: (Gotcha!)
Tōru Amuro: She's charging the magic cannon! Is everyone ready?
Vyrn: About time! Let's bust this thing up, (Captain)!

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Chapter 6: Treasure at Last! - Episode 4

(Captain) and friends manage to damage the golem and snatch a map of the area from Daniela. Waiting by the exit are Barawa and a few others. Crew members have also come out from the Grandcypher to help. These combined forces prove a worthy match for the golem.

Daniela: What?
Daniela: Rgh!
Conan Edogawa: (Now!)
Conan crouches down to turn up a dial on his kicking enhancement shoes.
Conan Edogawa: Goooo!
The ball that he had produced from his belt travels blazingly fast, cutting through the air and knocking open the golem's cockpit hatch.
Daniela: Urgh!
Amuro leaps onto the massive machine and snatches the map from Daniela.
Daniela: That's mine!
Tōru Amuro: (Captain)-san, lead the way!
(Captain) gladly takes the map from Amuro.
Vyrn: Katalina, over here!
Katalina: On my way!
Daniela: Screw this! You're not getting away on my watch!
Daniela closes the hatch and rushes toward (Captain) and the others.
Tōru Amuro: Conan-kun, we need to hurry!
Conan Edogawa: Right!
Katalina: More branching paths! Where to next?
Vyrn: Left! And then right!
Lyria: Are Conan-kun and Amuro-san okay?
Vyrn: Relax, they're right behind us!
Katalina: We need to get out at once! Then we call for reinforcements and brace ourselves for a showdown with the golem!
Conan Edogawa: ...
Daniela: Did you really think you could get away? I'll finish you two off first!
Tōru Amuro: Watch out!
Conan Edogawa: Ngh!
Conan Edogawa: (Is this the end of the line for us?)
Daniela: About time we put an end to this game of tag! Say your prayers!
Conan Edogawa: Oh no!
Daniela: Huh?
Conan Edogawa: (This mansion's coming apart above... That can only mean one thing!)
Tōru Amuro: The cave won't be able to withstand this! We need to go!
Daniela: What a joke... Do you really think you can get away from me?
Waiting by the cave's entrance are Barawa and everyone else.
Barawa: Lyria! You're safe!
Lyria: Yes! But Daniela is gaining on us!
Sarya: We should be okay. Everyone onboard the Grandcypher has come down to help!
Katalina: What a relief. We'll need all the help we can get to handle her golem.
Kogorō Mōri: Katalina-san, where's everyone else!
Conan Edogawa: ...
Ran Mōri: Conan-kun! Amuro-san too... Thank goodness...
Tōru Amuro: We still have work to do! Detective Mōri, Ran-san, fall back!
Daniela: Impudent fools... I'll finish off every last one of you!
Barawa: This is one heckuva golem... But no way are we gonna back off here!
Vyrn: Yeah, we'll stop it for sure! C'mon, (Captain)!

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Ending

The other members of Candle Investigations console a beaten Daniela. Chat Noir makes an appearance as well, revealing that he was playing along as Leila the entire time. With every mystery solved in this case, the Conan posse returns to Doctor Agasa's place with fond memories of the sky realm.

Following the battle, the fearsome golem is no more, and Daniela lies beaten on the ground.
Katalina: Huff... Huff... We pulled it off somehow.
Daniela: How did I lose... Why doesn't anything ever go right for me?
Daniela: What have I ever done? Why do I have to take the fall every single time!
Barawa: Oh please, tell me you're joking! After all the crap you put Lyria and the rest of us through, I'd say you had it coming.
Sarya: You came after us first. I don't think you can really blame us for demolishing your golem.
Daniela: That was the sole legacy of my ancestors... What makes you think you have the right to blow it to bits!
Katalina: Let's not forget that it was you who wanted to give up that legacy in exchange for renown in the empire.
Vyrn: That's right! Quit using your ancestors as an excuse!
Daniela: Shut your trap! Don't you even pretend to know how I feel!
Conan Edogawa: Daniela-san, aren't you the one who's been oblivious to everyone's feelings?
Tōru Amuro: "Our treasure will reveal itself only to those with intellect enough to solve the mansion's mystery."
Tōru Amuro: As the letter from the forefathers of the mansion would suggest, only the truly wise should handle the treasure.
Daniela: Are you implying that I lack intellect?
Conan Edogawa: Think about it. We solved the mansion's puzzles together.
Barawa: Together, not alone...
Barawa: I think I've figured it out! In other words it refers to people who use their smarts to engage in teamwork and help others!
Conan Edogawa: (That was supposed to be my line, buster...)
Lyria: When those precious to you are threatened, great power can take the form of a shield...
Sarya: Makes sense... I can see why the masters of this mansion dubbed such a monstrous invention a treasure.
Conan Edogawa: But all Daniela-san did was manipulate us for her own ends. That's why the treasure turned into nothing more than a weapon.
Conan Edogawa: A weapon that was quickly ravaged... Just like the way you tried to toss us pawns aside.
Daniela: ...
Carolina: Daniela...
Daniela is an emotional wreck as Carolina gently places a hand on her shoulder.
Carolina: What you've done here is unforgivable.
Carolina: But I believe that you still have the heart to make things right.
Nelly: Likewise.
Daniela: Oh, give me a break... You're too kind.
Carolina: Because we honestly believe that you'll atone for your mistakes.
Nelly: We're friends now. We won't abandon you.
Daniela: I'm sorry, you two...
Carolina: Shall we get going?
Carolina and Nelly bow at the crew before heading off with Daniela.
Vyrn: Hm? Wasn't there one other member in Candle Investigations?
???: She's no longer around. Or rather, she was never around to begin with.
???: ...
Barawa: It's you! Chat Noir!
The Three: Huh?
Chat Noir: I almost forgot this is the first time I've revealed myself like this.
Chat Noir: I am the Phantom Thief Chat Noir. Pleased to make your acquaintance.
Barawa: What was the big idea behind the invitations!
Chat Noir: Hehehe, why not ask the apprentice over there. I've told him everything...
Chat Noir: I'll just say it was on a mere whim that I thought to use him.
Kogorō Mōri: Apprentice? You mean...
Tōru Amuro: Sorry. He told me to keep it secret...
Conan Edogawa: How? When?
Tōru Amuro: We struck a deal earlier. I was able to get to the roof quickly thanks to Chat Noir.
Chat Noir: I gave you the info you needed. Now I just hope you'll remember to keep your end of the bargain...
Tōru Amuro: You can count on it, Phantom Thief.
Chat Noir: Well, I've gotten what I came for...
Chat Noir takes out an envelope and plants a kiss on it.
Sarya: Huh? I don't have the invitation we first got anymore?
Barawa: What?
Barawa: Then that thing in his hand must be...
Chat Noir: I offer my condolences for inviting you to this avarice-filled, somber tapestry of a mystery.
Chat Noir: I can only promise to weave an even finer tale for you the next time we cross paths!
Chat Noir: Farewell, ladies and gentlemen!
Chat Noir leaps onto a skyskimmer that appears out of nowhere and takes off.
Barawa: Blasted Phantom Thief! I'll get you next time for sure!
Barawa yells at the top of his lungs as the skyskimmer fades into the distance.
Chat Noir's Voice: Hahahah! I'm looking forward to it, Barawa!
Meanwhile a different airship approaches from far off.
Katalina: They could be imperial reinforcements. We should return to the Grandcypher.
Barawa: Kogorō, you have my thanks for everything today.
Sarya: Your "sleeping" deduction was really something else. Hopefully we'll cross paths again someday.
Kogorō Mōri: Thanks. You two take care of yourselves too.
Conan Edogawa: Bye, everyone!
Lyria: Teehee. Buh-bye, Conan-kun!
As the crew departs, a pillar of light manifests before the Conan posse.
Tōru Amuro: Looks like the game's come to an end. We should get going too.
Ran Mōri: I guess you're right.
Conan and the gang step into the light.
Conan Edogawa: ...
Doctor Agasa: Great job beating the game! You can take off your goggles now.
With the good doctor's help, they remove the sensors on their hands and feet.
Doctor Agasa: How did you enjoy that final sequence? I tried to make it as dynamic and impactful as possible.
Ran Mōri: Yeah, it was a real surprise! But also a bit scary at the same time...
Kogorō Mōri: If the focus is an action-based puzzle-solving VR game, I think what you've got here is pretty solid.
Tōru Amuro: This has been a most valuable experience, Doctor Agasa. Thank you.
Doctor Agasa: Ho-ho-ho, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Kogorō Mōri: Guess we'll go home now—
Kogorō Mōri: Ungh! M-my back...
Ran Mōri: Oh no! We need to put some ice on that.
Tōru Amuro: I'll pick up a taxi and bring Detective Mōri back to the office.
Tōru Amuro: I hope you don't mind me taking a few ice packs from the medicine cabinet.
Ran Mōri: Hey, I should be the one to—
Tōru Amuro: Please, let me. I owe it to the detective for all he does for me.
Tōru Amuro: Besides you look really exhausted, Ran-san. Why not take it easy here for a bit before returning with Conan-kun?
Kogorō Mōri: Yeah, don't worry about me. A little R & R, and I'll be as good as new.
Ran Mōri: Okay... Dad's in your hands then.
Tōru Amuro: Yes.
Tōru Amuro: Detective Mōri, can you stand?
Kogorō Mōri: Ouch!
Kogorō Mōri: Yeah... I'll manage.
Doctor Agasa: By the way, Conan-kun, Ran-kun, were you able to uncover all the mysteries?
Ran Mōri: Weren't you watching us through the monitor?
Doctor Agasa: Actually I haven't been able to get the monitor up and running ever since that lightning struck.
Doctor Agasa: I only saw what happened in the first few minutes.
Conan Edogawa: Wait, that means you missed out on nearly everything...
Doctor Agasa: Oddly enough I couldn't even get a log of what happened.
Doctor Agasa: Made me a bit anxious. I even thought of stopping the game halfway through, but you all kept going without any problems so I just left it on.
Ran Mōri: So that's what happened. It's too bad you didn't get to see how awesome Dad was...
Conan Edogawa: Speaking of... Doc, who were the detective and his assistant that showed up at the very beginning?
Ran Mōri: Yeah, we didn't know anything about them.
Conan Edogawa: And Phantom Thief S suddenly changed to Phantom Thief Chat Noir out of the blue. It was all a bit off.
Doctor Agasa: Hm? Chat Noir?
Doctor Agasa: The "S" in Phantom Thief S stands for "secret."
Ran Mōri: Hm? But Chat Noir was...
Ai Haibara: So the game's over, huh.
Conan Edogawa: Haibara, you were asleep this whole time?
Ai Haibara: Yeah, sure didn't plan on it though.
Ran Mōri: Ah!
Ran jumps up after a glance at her wristwatch.
Ran Mōri: Oh no! I need to stock up at the supermarket for tonight's dinner!
Conan Edogawa: Is it that late already?
Ai Haibara: Considering how long the game kept you hooked, I'm glad I got to chip in on the development process.
Doctor Agasa: But some things out of the ordinary did happen. Perhaps some debugging is in order.
A grim expression crosses the doctor's face as he fiddles with the keyboard.
Ran Mōri: Conan-kun, I hate to ask, but can you come along to the supermarket with me?
Conan Edogawa: Sure!
Ai Haibara: Hey, there's something stuck on your shoes.
Conan Edogawa: Huh?
Conan picks up a worn-out gear entangled in his shoelaces.
Conan Edogawa: (Isn't this...)
Ai Haibara: Is it a part from one of the doc's inventions? Here, I'll put it back for him.
Ran Mōri: Conan-kun, ready to head out?
Conan Edogawa: Yeah, I'm good to go.
Doctor Agasa: Be careful on the way back!
While the evening sun sets in the horizon, Conan and Ran tread the path home.
Cheerful smiles color their expressions as they recount their experiences and recall the faces of everyone who helped them in the mansion.
Kogorō Mōri: Oww... How can a video game be so painful?
Tōru Amuro: Just relax, okay?
Detective Conan

Gears of Conspiracy

The End

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Day 1

Ran Mōri: But I have to say, this game feels so real. I can't tell it from reality.
Conan Edogawa: I had no idea the doc was even working on something like this.
Ran Mōri: Who knew he was that great of an inventor? I'll never look at him the same way again.
Ran Mōri: You go to his place a lot, but has he ever shown you other stuff he's made?
Doctor Agasa: Achoo!
Doctor Agasa: Is it getting cold in here? Better close the window.
Ran Mōri: He's really outdone himself this time!
Conan Edogawa: Yep!

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Day 2

Kogorō Mōri: It's not like you to be late, you know. Something happen?
Tōru Amuro: Actually I was at Cafe Poirot the entire time.
Tōru Amuro: I only had the morning shift, but when I was about to clock out, the register started acting up.
Tōru Amuro: I didn't want to leave Azusa-san by herself, so I helped her fix it.
Kogorō Mōri: Hmm... You did get it fixed, right?
Tōru Amuro: Somehow, yes.
Kogorō Mōri: Huh... Nothing like tinkering with a machine to get the ol' brain juices flowing, eh?
Tōru Amuro: Exactly. Now that I am all warmed up, I will do my best to learn your detective ways!
Kogorō Mōri: Oh! Well, isn't that something!

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Day 3

Doctor Agasa: It looks like the game's running smoothly!
Doctor Agasa: When I think back to all that development... Goodness, I couldn't have done it without Ai-kun.
Ai Haibara: Putting in a boss battle is fine, but don't you think the difficulty's too high?
Ai Haibara: Maybe it's okay for adults who play sports, but I think kids and less active people will need help.
Doctor Agasa: Thanks to her suggestion, I came up with an in-game beam gun and damage-reduction suit!
Doctor Agasa: The designs are simple, but it still took me all night to make them!
Doctor Agasa: Bah, I was gonna have Shinichi try them out for me too, but it completely slipped my mind.
Doctor Agasa: Also since the full-body scan system detects any item on you and makes a copy of it in-game...
Doctor Agasa: Even a kid can beat this game once they realize they can just bring in any of the cool gadgets I've made!
Doctor Agasa: Will have to see how it fares in the long run...

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Day 4

Conan Edogawa: Hey, how was the fighting game you tried out?
Ran Mōri: It was just like any other fighting game. Pick an opponent and knock them out before running out of time.
Ran Mōri: All while trying to keep your own life bar from hitting zero.
Conan Edogawa: Were they super hard?
Ran Mōri: The last boss was a little tough, I guess. I was tired from marathoning fights, so I dropped a round.
Ran Mōri: I still won though. It'd be great if I could smash up puzzles like I did my opponents!
Conan Edogawa: Y-yeah... If only...

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Day 5

Kogorō Mōri: So you've been traveling this entire time, Katalina-san? Where have you been to?
Katalina: Well, we've already been to so many islands to accept missions, but we never seem to run out of new places to visit.
Kogorō Mōri: That's incredible! I'm sure you had a lot of great experiences as well.
Katalina: Haha, it's not really that big of a deal. My journey happens to coincide with making (Captain)'s dream come true.
Kogorō Mōri: (Captain)'s dream?
Katalina: How should I explain this...
Kogorō Mōri: You don't have to answer just yet! Let the famous detective Kogorō Mōri do the honors.
Kogorō Mōri: (Captain)'s a kid... And a journey...
Kogorō Mōri: I've got it! (Captain)-san's dream is to set off on a journey of adventure!
Katalina: Wouldn't that dream have been fulfilled as soon as (Captain) started the journey?
Kogorō Mōri: Oh, yeah...

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Day 6

Conan Edogawa: I wonder what the mansion's hidden treasure is.
Tōru Amuro: No doubt something special that includes someone's secret message buried under the puzzles.
Conan Edogawa: Yeah...
Tōru Amuro: What do you imagine it to be, Conan-kun?
Conan Edogawa: Probably some trick item, just like how this whole mansion is playing tricks on us.
Conan Edogawa: If the treasure is a setup, maybe it could tell us how we're supposed to get to the end.
Tōru Amuro: A treasure as a setup... That's an interesting angle to consider.
Conan Edogawa: Too bad it doesn't look like we're going to get any hints about the treasure, so I don't know.
Tōru Amuro: In the end we should probably try to have fun until something does come our way.
Conan Edogawa: Yeah, you're right.

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Day 7

Kogorō, Amuro, and the rest of the gang split up to solve mysteries in the old, puzzle-ridden mansion.
Kogorō Mōri: You said you were going to tackle that puzzle over there. Did you solve it?
Tōru Amuro: Not by myself. I solved it together with (Captain) and the others.
Tōru Amuro: That is, I did come up with the answer myself, but I thought it best to see what everyone else came up with for confirmation.
Kogorō Mōri: Knowing how to cooperate is something a detective needs too, I suppose.
Tōru Amuro: How did you fare, Detective Mōri?
Kogorō Mōri: Swell, thanks to having Detective Barawa with me.
Kogorō Mōri: He solved it with a pow.
Tōru Amuro: Pow?
Kogorō Mōri: What? Yours wasn't the kind of lock you're supposed to smash in order to get open?
Tōru Amuro: Uh... Well...
Tōru Amuro: Ours was the type that unlocks from using the hints on the walls.
Kogorō Mōri: Mm. I'm glad you guys ran into an ordinary lock.
Tōru Amuro: (A detective who breaks locks to open them... Barawa-san is a mysterious one himself.)

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Day 8

Lyria: Hey, Ran-san. You said you have a friend who likes mystery novels, right?
Lyria: I think he'd really enjoy solving the puzzles in this mansion.
Ran Mōri: I thought so too, but when I invited him, he said he was too busy.
Ran Mōri: He must be on the trail of something big because he hasn't been back in forever...
Lyria: That's too bad...
Ran Mōri: Oh, forget about him! It's his own fault, you know?
Lyria: But it must be lonely.
Ran Mōri: It's all good! I can't explain it, but I feel like he's close by, watching over me somehow.
Ran Mōri: So I think he'll be back before I realize it.
Lyria: You have a strong heart, Ran-san.
Lyria: If I were in your shoes, I don't think I could handle being away from someone special for such a long time.
Lyria: That's why I'm going to pray that your friend comes back real soon!
Ran Mōri: Aww, thanks!

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Day 9

Kogorō Mōri: Geez, I'm supposed to be supervising this game thing.
Kogorō Mōri: But I can't concentrate at all with you running around.
Conan Edogawa: What's the problem? I'm helping everyone out. It's a multiplayer co-op game after all.
Tōru Amuro: Conan-kun's right. But I feel like I'm butting in on the investigation...
Kogorō Mōri: I don't mind you being here. You're here to learn.
Tōru Amuro: I understand where you are coming from, Detective Mōri.
Tōru Amuro: However, seeing as how Conan-kun seems to enjoy mysteries, why not allow him to study as I am doing now?
Kogorō Mōri: You mean... Take the kid as my apprentice too?
Conan Edogawa: (Oh, gimme a break.)

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Day 10

Kogorō Mōri: Darn it! How could this have happened to Ran!
Kogorō Mōri: Let's check the room again. There has to be something the culprit left behind.
Tōru Amuro: ...
Tōru Amuro: I'll come with you.
Kogorō Mōri: Fine. Tell me if you find anything.
Tōru Amuro: Got it!
Tōru Amuro: (There's something else I want to check out too. I probably won't get a better chance than this.)

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Day 11

Conan Edogawa: This Lost and Found Room might as well be a library with all the books in here.
Ran Mōri: Yeah. I flipped through a lot of them when I was looking for parts.
Ran Mōri: I found an interesting picture book. It shows all kinds of islands floating in the sky.
Ran Mōri: It's about people flying around on big ships and going on adventures. I felt like I was there with them.
Conan Edogawa: Cool!
Ran Mōri: It'd be so nice if there were a place like that right above our heads!
Kogorō Mōri: Yaaargh!
Tōru Amuro: Don't look down, Detective. Just go down one rung at a time and you'll be fine.
Vyrn: C'mon, dude. Why'd you climb up the book shelf if you're afraid of heights?
Kogorō Mōri: Shut up! I thought there was a clue up here!
Kogorō Mōri: Augh! The ladder shook!
Tōru Amuro: Ahaha... Looks like this could take a while...

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Day 12

Doctor Agasa: Hm... I've got time to kill until the game ends.
Doctor Agasa: Ai-kun is off in dreamland. Guess I'll revisit the puzzle idea book.
Doctor Agasa: ...
Doctor Agasa: A village is under attack by a horde of monsters. But when the sun sets, not a single one remains. Can you guess why?
Doctor Agasa: I had a good feeling about this one.
Ai Haibara: Doc, that's not something kids want to solve.
Ai Haibara: Please don't put dad jokes into the game.
Doctor Agasa: Night comes when the sun sets. In other words, a knight comes to wipe out the monsters.
Doctor Agasa: Bah, I still think it's a doggone masterpiece...

Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy - Day 13

Conan and the gang beat the VR game and are now relaxing on Doctor Agasa's sofa.
Ran Mōri: So many crazy things happened in there. I can't believe I was the one being targeted.
Kogorō Mōri: Yeah, and I thought I was gonna die when the mansion started coming down.
Conan Edogawa: Not to mention when that scary golem thing popped out at the end.
Tōru Amuro: You've got puzzle-solving, sleuthing, a final showdown with the boss, and then an escape from a collapsing mansion.
Tōru Amuro: This game will chew you up and spit you out.
Doctor Agasa: It looks like the beta took a toll on you guys! Well, I've taken all of your feedback into full account for improvements.
Ran Mōri: I hope it becomes a hit!
Tōru Amuro: Same.
Kogorō Mōri: Of course it will. It's gonna have my name on the box!
Conan Edogawa: (Psh, you hardly gave any useful feedback...)
