A necromancer who skulks in remote barrens far from the royal capital, engrossed in methods for controlling the dead. He once narrowly escaped capture by Siegfried, who'd uncovered his wicked deeds. Upon learning of Siegfried's return to the kingdom, he sets his plot for revenge into motion.

Etymology
Like Siegfried, Hagen's name derives from the Middle High German epic Nibelungenlied. In it, the warrior Hagen slew Siegfried by attacking the latter in the only part where he was vulnerable.
